I own other cookware from Norpro, and they have generally been reliable. As noted elsewhere, the pans are light. However, they are not much lighter than the heaviest ones I have seen for 2x the price for a single pan. I have used them for cakes, and as long as you're not careless with them, they deliver well on their promise. That said, a couple of tricks for buyers, which are not all specific to this case, but apply in general to easy-to-damage cookware. When putting the bottom on, place the bottom pan on the table, put the outside around it, and close. It will allow for easy and correct positioning of the bottom. Second, after use, wash it immediately and place in the still-warm oven. This will prevent rusting on any rust-prone equipment you have. It will be bone dry in 20 minutes, and save dish rack space to boot. Lastly, because the coating in crystalline, any bending tends to damage it and cause flaking (true of all nonstick). Never cut baked good on the base or use cleaning pads that scratch the coating. Use a thin rubber spatula to take a cake off the base. Also, even though these nest, if you do nest, use a piece of the box to separate the pans, and you'll see a longer life.

However I have used it to make apple Sharlotka and a beet chocolate cake and was very pleased with its non-stick quality
March 3, 2017
This is not a complete review as I yet have not made cheesecake with this springform. However I have used it to make apple Sharlotka and a beet chocolate cake and was very pleased with its non-stick quality. The true test will be a cheesecake to see if it is truly leek-proof. I will update the review based on how the cheesecake comes out but for now, I don't have any complaints.
Great pan
June 26, 2016
Really like this pan, but I have never had a Nordic Ware Pan that I didn't like and that was not of the highest quality. Have some pretty old Nordic bundt pans and they are all still like new and will last forever if taken care of. I only give Nordic Ware pans as gifts, as well. Really like the interchangeable bottoms. Have only used the fluted bottom so far and cake comes out great and looks really nice. Also, no leakage as with some other springform pans.
Great for the pressure cooker
February 24, 2015
Nice sturdy pan that truly doesn't leak. I bought it to make cheesecake in the Instant Pot pressure cooker....it fits with space to spare. Makes a full recipe, just gives you a really thick cheesecake. If you make cheesecake in the pressure cooker, you will never do water bath in the oven again.
GREAT PAN FOR A DECENT PRICE
December 25, 2014
I bought this pan because I had to replace my Kaiser La Forme 9" springform pan. The coating started to separate on the sides of the pan which now made the pan useless. I did not want to spend that much money again as I don't think it was worth it so I decided to give this one a try since it got good reviews and was at a good price point. I have to say that I'm very pleased with how it performs. It's lightweight, non-stick, and due to the base being flat (not having a rim around the base) it was easy to slide my cheesecake onto a serving plate. Clean up was a breeze too. It was really easy to get the cake off the sides of the pan so that's a real plus. I can't vouch for it being leak proof (which a lot of pans say they are but water always seemed to seep in somehow even after I double wrapped the pans in foil before placing them in the water bath) because I now place my springform pans in a fat diddio pan slightly larger than my springform pan before placing it in the water bath, which guarantees it will be leakproof. I would highly recommend this pan and would definitely buy it again!.

best springform pan I've ever had
November 17, 2010
I own a retail bakery and after a couple of our springform pans got dented up trying to fit the ring on the base, I decided to try another brand. I picked up one of these to try and it's the best springform pan we've ever used. Very easy to put together (saves time in a busy bakery). So we decided to replace all our existing springforms with these. Great product.

Good cheesecake pans
December 21, 2015
These are light. I have damaged the 9" ring already and the pan doesn't sit perfectly in it. Mine are mainly used for cheesecakes, so the crust doesn't let anything seep out. They should be OK as long as you don't throw them around.I've also seen rust in various places after a trip through the wash. They cook evenly and I haven't had any issues with sticking. You can bend anything back if it gets to that point.Overall the pros outweigh the cons. The cons are easily worked around or fixed. These aren't the greatest pans, but they;re good for the price.

Read a lot of complaints on these. BUT, although thin metal, I have been cooking up a "storm" of cheese cakes for the holidays and are holding up well - no rust ( of course you should always dry all pans well) and no stains!
Great for ice cream cakes!
October 9, 2013
I was looking for one springform pan to make my daughter's ice cream cake in. I wanted a larger size than 9 inches. These three pans are the price of one! The first package arrived and had CLEARLY been run over by a truck. I can't believe, out of the many hands this box must have passed through before delivering it to me, that not one person said "hey, this has been run over." There was a tire-sized dent over half the box and all the pans were destroyed. I was really mad because my kid's birthday was a few days away. I returned online, the UPS man was there the next day to pick up my ruined box and deliver the new pans!! It was crazy-fast.Anyway, the 10 inch pan made a huge ice cream cake and fed about 15 people with leftovers. Everything worked as it was supposed to and went through the dishwasher successfully.

Good pan
April 12, 2017
Very good quality springform pan. It's "leakproof", but you will still need to seal it up with foil when making cheesecake. You can tell it's a high end quality kitchen item. I always think it's worth having quality items if you want to produce quality cooking. Rings true in this case.
... in this pan and the non-stick surface is very easy to clean
October 28, 2016
Cakes bake evenly in this pan and the non-stick surface is very easy to clean. It leaks a bit like every other springform pan I have owned, and that's always annoying because I have to put aluminum foil on the bottom and a pan underneath in case the foil gets a little tear in it and, say, butter drips out.
Must-have item for your Instant Pot Pressure Cooker!
September 23, 2016
This worked perfectly in my Instant Pot pressure cooker and did not leak. I did have problems with my method for making cheesecake though so there was cheesecake splattered all over my pressure cooker and under the pan. The pan itself was pretty easy to clean except for the ridge underneath the pan dish. I had to use a toothpick to get some of the splattered cheese cake off. Not something to really gripe about when it was the method of baking the cheesecake that was flawed and not the pan itself.
Nice pan!
July 20, 2015
Very nice pan! Indeed does not leak at all. BUT - the one problem I have found is that the cakes I tried making - which were not cheesecakes - stuck to the bottom as well as the sides. It was very hard to clean. I sprayed it down with pam and i even once sprinkled some flour (as the recipe said to do) but the cake still stuck on pretty badly. No huge deal bcs i cleaned it but would be great if that didn't happen. Maybe it's me and I'm only supposed to be making cheesecakes in this???In any case - it pops open beautifully and the nice round cake is always tasty and baked nicely!
Perfect springform pan for ice cream cakes - Not quite no-leak but that depends on your mix
July 6, 2014
I bought two of these to make ice cream cakes and they performed wonderfully. I lined the bottoms of the pans with parchment paper before adding the crust then lined the sides with parchment paper before adding the filling, which made removal of the ring pan much easier and provided a buffer between the nonstick coating and the filling (I will do that when I make cheesecakes in these as well - and see how it works). The combination of the nonstick coating and parchment meant that the cakes came out easily and the parchment was removed from the bottom of the cakes by simply using a spatula run around between the parchment and the bottom of the pan and gently pulling the paper out. No problems. I did notice that in the 10 minute thawing period some of the chocolate syrup used between layers (that won't freeze and stays liquid) began to leak, but it did not leak in the freezer or cause problems... so as long as your mixture's consistency is not too thin these should not leak. For more liquid "no-bake" cakes - assemblies that never hit the oven - I would recommend lining the pan with plastic wrap. I haven't tried that but have seen various recipes that suggest that for easy removal of the finished cake.
Holds Less Than Traditional 9-in Springform
April 8, 2014
I purchased this pan to replace an old one, and while I really like it and can tell that it's high quality, it holds less than my previous 9-inch springform. The bottom of the pan is slightly elevated (I assume to make a more leakproof seal) so this takes away a little space. The same cheesecake recipes I made in the past are no longer fitting because of the size difference, but the inconvenience is minor.Other than that, I've had no issues with baking and removing cakes from it! So far, it's been leakproof as promised, but I've been using tin foil either way just to make sure. Happy with my purchase!

Okay for the first few uses !!

Good price for someone who only use it for a few times. The pans are nicely painted, but the tight leak-proof seal is not completely seal after a few uses. I will not recommend this product for someone who bake often.

Not as good as I first thought...
September 17, 2015
Thought these pans would be a great addition to my husband's baking collection. Now, after only THREE uses, the nonstick coating is peeling off. It was a great price, quick ship, etc. But, now as I'm afraid to use these again, they'll have to go straight into the recycle bin. Will have to try a different brand and maybe pay a little more, I suspect. Really sorry they didn't work out.

Eh... not impressed.
December 26, 2016
First off, other reviews had said that this was not 9 inches. It most definitely WAS. The size was exactly as advertised. However, the pan had a large dent in the side upon opening package. Shipping box was undamaged, so had to have happened before it was shipped. In that condition it would definitely NOT be leak-proof. Had to return the item and will probably not bother trying again. Seemed no better quality than the springform I already own, which was about 1/2 the price.

December 14, 2016
It came with a small dent in it that makes it no longer seal completely. That means water seeps in through the bottom if used in a water bath or pressure cooker. I have to wrap it in foil in order to use it.
I don't love it but, I don't hate it!
April 29, 2016
I have a set of old stainless steel springform pans that my mother passed down to me. Unfortunately, the latch that locks the pan close on the 9" pan broke off. After much research I settled for this one based on reviews in that price range. This is a nice sturdy pan. It was not to heavy either. After washing it I tested if it leaked by filing it with water. No signs of leaks!I made a cheesecake the next day. Even though I did a quick test on the pan. I was still worried about leaks. So, I layered up 4 sheets of foil around the outside of the pan. I make cheesecake in a water bath. It's my preference. I have made cheesecake with/without a water bath. I like the texture better with it.I was very disappointed when I took my cake out of the oven and when I ran my spatula around the sides water came out. After letting it cool a few minutes I opened the latched and loosened the sides slightly. Popped that bad boy in the oven at 250° with foil over the top to keep it from browning out. The crust was still moist but, at least it wasn't mush anymore!I still like the non stick and I think may do well without a water bath and to make cakes in.I might raise the rating after I try those other options.
Not Leak Proof
November 11, 2015
It's not leak proof, as the name suggests, however It's less leaky than the others that I've tried and I've gotten tired of trying to find one that wont leak. I wrapped this one up in tin foil when I made a cheese cake, and none of the water got in, so while it was a pain, it got the job done.
Not exactly what I ordered.
October 21, 2015
I have yet to use it, but it came in green (which I don't mind),but the lining is not dark gray like in the photo. The cardboard wrapping was ripped and there seems to be faults in the workmanship. The bottom rim has two "lumps". This is aluminum, not steel, but do not see that it should be steel, just from a question answered. It's also 11- cups not 10 which I guess is alright since it's still 9 inch diameter.
Is NOT blue - just SILVER...but a good pan nonetheless.
August 22, 2015
Don't order for the color - it arrives in basic silver like every other pan you own. There are numerous springform pan options but I bought this one because the cobalt blue matches all my kitchen and pans - but they don't ship it like the picture. It's a great pan, but they should change the misleading image.

The clasps are very poorly designed and sometimes they wont release ruining your cheese cake! When the clasps work right I had no issues of food sticking to the sides so the nonstick works fine. The material is also very thing and doesnt feel like very high quality stuff.

These bend extremely easy. The pan dropped out of the refrigerator and bent a lot, we were able to mostly bend it back. It does the job it is meant to do and is a great price, just dont drop it.
Bend easily, not very high quality
September 22, 2015
Bend easily, not very high quality. They work but probably won't last long. After one use they have dents in the sides. Stuff also gets stuck in the "lip" at the bottom and if it's washed with the dishwasher they won't come out and eventually start molding. I wish I could return these
Good! .. . Really no so good!
January 7, 2014
Maybe because this is new, but this molds are great, my cake doesn't stick in the bottom and seal very well, I hope to keep it that way. My update: I am very very disappointed about this set. They work very well just in the first uses. At this time (and I don't used so much!! maybe one time per month) they don't seal well and a little of my cake mix go out of the bottom and the nonstick coating starts to peel; very very cheap. This set is a very good price but it doesn't work as you can see. If you don't need a nonstick cake pan, they will do the job. I give you a photo.

August 10, 2017
This pan is not leak proof as stated in the title. Should you choose to bake a cheesecake in a bain marie, ensure that your foil is watertight, otherwise, you will have a soggy bottom.
Don't believe the hype!
January 18, 2017
Ordered this product because of all the rave reviews about it being sturdy and "leakproof" as advertised as well, but 1st use and it leaked 😤! Also it felt flimsy and not at all sturdy. I was so disappointed as this was one of the higher priced springform pans... not to mention it doesn't come in blue like the picture it's regular silver. All in all product was a disappointment.
Not truly leak proof
January 10, 2017
I wanted a leak proof spring form pan for a particular cheese cake I make that requires a water bath. Before making the recipe, I put the pan in the water bath and it immediately filled with water.
Nice pan but not Leakproof
January 6, 2017
Nice pan but it is not leak proof. If I was rating it as a springform pan I would give it 4 or 5 stars but it is labeled a leakproof springform pan which it is not. It does leak.
I bought 2- 1 out of 2 is in the garbage..
November 15, 2016
After only using this item a couple of times- while baking, the bottom of this pan bent and could not be salvaged. I only purchased in Sept 2016 and by October 2016- it was done. I bought 2- 1 out of 2 is in the garbage... :)
NOT LEAK PROOF
February 27, 2016
It's a nice pan but it is NOT LEAK PROOF! You cannot stick this pan in a water bath in your oven for the perfectly cooked cheesecake. The pan itself lets water in. I do like the pan itself, but I will still have to wrap the whole thing in foil before baking in a water bath.

Not worth the risk

This product was beyond underwhelming. The pans were not crimped properly and my batter leaked all over in my oven starting a small fire (long story). I can however say, they refunded the pans within days of my request to return with no questions asked. It was with an amazon credit, but it all spends alike, right?

April 17, 2014
The nonstick coating came off of these after they were used. I tried to return them but Amazon said I was outside of my window to return them. If they are defective, there should not be a "window" to return something. Total waste of money.
Waste of money!

For new buyers please do not buy this . Its not worth the money. The material is so cheap! I understand that springform are expensive and this is good price but terrible material so just get durable n different brand.
The anti sticking coating peels
February 16, 2014
I have used the biggest one only, I have to say. But the anti sticking coating peels away almost immediately making them unusable since the paint gets into the cakes.Very disappointed.Definitely go for all stainless steel ones, with a coat of butter you have the same results and you don't risk to have to trow them away after two cakes.

Don't bother!!
September 24, 2017
Purchased one - it arrived dented on the bottom. It was replaced with a second one that was so badly dented along the side that the metal was unrolling along the top edge and was very sharp. The bottom of the pan had about 1/4 inch space around the bottom inset due to the dent on the one side. I could almost get my finger through it. This would NEVER hold and would leak batter out as soon as it was put in!!! All done with these. Sent second one back, too. Never again. Very disappointed!!!

Not sure why it's described as Leakproof when it's clearly not. The flan's caramel leaked all over my oven, and the lid did not want to pop off.
Rusted 1st Use
January 4, 2017
This is my first springform pan and based on all the reviews I was so excited to use it. After the 1st use, we cleaned it and the metal latch is rusted. My neighbor has a springform pan (different brand) that she's had for 4 + years, uses it all the time and there isn't any rust. I would not recommend buying this pan.
