Great Products AND Outstanding Support
March 13, 2017
We purchased more than 10 of these along with Kensington keyboards. The products are great. But more important, the warranty support is outstanding. We have had a few minor issues and one call to Kensignton (the number is even listed on the bottom of the mouse), and they replace it. Makes life so much easier when companies stand behind their products. I purchased Kensington in the first place because of their designs and value; I always liked their approach to technical products. They are more thoughtful with integrating their products with people instead of trying to be some tricked out fancy design that sacrifices function. Will definitely buy their products again.
Good durable standard mouse.
February 24, 2017
These have been good computer mice. I bought several of these for our school (I'm the IT guy) because mice are something we go through pretty quickly here. The biggest things we need in computer mice are durability, low cost, and good tracking on less-than-ideal surfaces. These foot the bill on all fronts. They're easy for large and small hands to use and have held up very well under the stressful environment in which they're used. They are wired which we definitely prefer here because nothing is more disruptive than a class of students all needing mouse batteries. The cords are plenty long enough to accommodate the many different setups we have here. The scroll wheels have that nice "click" when you scroll so you get that tactile feedback that lets you know you're scrolling the wheel. (I don't care for the smooth scroll wheels at all.)Otherwise, it's a dependable and durable wired mouse. Not much else to say about 'em really.
Feels better. Costs less. Superior to any other wired non-gaming mouse I have ever used regardless of price.
January 7, 2017
I normally would not bother to review an inexpensive wired mouse, but I'm making an exception since this isn't your average cheap wired mouse. It doesn't work any better or worse than other wired optical mice but In my opinion, it feels very solid and well made. It's very comfortable to my hand and the plastic feels like it is high quality, well made, and nicely put together. I have a Lenovo mouse that I use on my secondary media center computer, but this Kensington is so much more solid and nice feeling I'll probably buy another one and shove the Lenovo in a sock drawer. It feels like I would expect a Logitech or Microsoft mouse costing 4x the price to feel. If you are looking for a reliable but basic mouse, this one more than fits the bill. I've been a PC user since 1992 and as far as general purpose non-gaming mice are concerned, this is in my opinion the best I've used while being one of the least expensive at the same time. Disclaimer: This review is my opinion, and if you buy this mouse you may or may not agree. I purchased this mouse with my own money from Amazon and I have no affiliation with Kensington.
It seemed like a good keyboard for the money* Mouse is great.
December 29, 2015
Can not beat this keyboard and mouse combo deal for the price!-- Keyboard: Key action is medium weighted, with the standard membrane feel. The spacebar on mine rattles just a little bit, but it does work perfectly. No missed keystrokes! ***** EDIT ***** It *(seemed like)* a good keyboard for the money. It was a good keyboard for about 2 days*. The (A) key suddenly stopped working, or worked sporadically. I have ordered a key puller so I can service my Matias Quiet Key Pro; the switches gummed due to humidity. Back into service it went last night due to the early failure of the Kensington. By the way, No Liquids were Spilled at all. No abuse, nothing to cause the failure.-- Mouse: It is a 3 button mouse that fits my hand nicely. I am 6' 1", and it seems some mice have shrank, while others are a big. Finding a mouse that is what I used to call normal sized seems a lot harder that it used to be. This mouse Just-Works! No excuses, no drama, this mouse does what a mouse is supposed to. I actually bought this keyboard and mouse combo because, for the price, I was getting the keyboard (which I knew nothing about) almost for free. I would say I now have a spare mouse, but my 10 y.o. daughter claimed it! Oh well, I will put her old Dell mouse away as a backup. ** Addendum ** The mouse is still working perfectly.
Good buy for the money.
December 19, 2011
Mouse measures approximately 4.5 inches long by 2.25 wide by 1.5 tall.I am really liking the Kensington mouse. Here is what I like about it.1. Size is just right for my large hand.2. Where one would place their thumb while using it is lightly textured.3. Scroll wheel is smooth and quite, and the right and left click are spot on for me.4. It's light but seems to be more expensive than it really is.5. 5 year warranty!Compared to what Logitech is putting out lately in this price bracket, Kensington has a winner in my book.
Great mouse
February 19, 2011
I have two of these mice. One on an Dell XP system and one on an Apple G4 mac mini. They work very well on both systems. The Apple mouse quit working well, and this was a nice replacement, and a very good price that is hard to beat. I am very pleased with it in both systems. It is a good size and fits my hand well. It tracks well. It is everything I wanted in a straight forward mouse.

The Mouse that Could.
September 17, 2016
I've had this mouse for over three years now and it's been beaten, battered, and dragged around the house. This mouse will keep with you and stay with you till the end of the line. If your looking for a long term investment which is easy on your wallet or bank account, this is the one for you. Great for anyone with kids, schools, and libraries. Try it out, you won't be disappointed.
I bought 2 mouses of this kind last year. ...
September 5, 2015
I bought 2 mouses of this kind last year. My son used it. It seemed had worked OK with Window 8.0 . My son moved the mouse with his laptop a lot. This resulted the wire close to USB port torn apart. Then I bought another one to use my laptop with Window 8.1. Initially, it worked likely OK. Sometimes, it had the issue: double actions with one click. When I updated my laptop to Window 10. This issue occurred constantly. It would be hardly to make a check on the square to delete an email or hardly for me to use the mouse to enter a password. . This problem happened on and off. So I must replace this kind of mouse with one of different brand.====================I wrote my review above as 2 starsToday, I found that my mouse that had the issue double action with one click was "Dell" brand, not Kensington K72356USI ordered with Amazon.com LLC with 3 different products including this kind of mouse on December 09th 2014It is so funny that until now, nine months nearly, I have just found Amazon.com LLC might have delivered the wrong product.I will verify this later. Sorry for this mistakeI'd like put it back 4 stars. For a thing, the wire connecting to USB port torn down and lost connect if mouse was moved a lot.
Grips a little small. Works just fine.
July 7, 2015
For the price, the "mouse-in-a-box" delivers on its promise. I purchased the mouse to replace an old Dell mouse which had a broken mouse-wheel.Functionally, it works just fine. The left and right click buttons are a little shallower than the Dell but the "click" feeling is far snappier and pronounced. The mouse wheel also has a nice rubbery sort of clicky feel to it as it spins opposed to the smoother and less controllable spin of the Dell mouse.I'm taking a star off just because it feels a little small. I have reasonably large hands but the Dell mouse, which was actually a little shorter in length compared to this Kensington mouse, feels better to grip. I suspect it's because the Dell mouse was a little taller and fatter near the palm-end of the mouse which let most of my hand weight rest on the mouse itself. This mouse has the ergonomic "wiggle" in the middle and the back end of the mouse is much skinnier and tapered. When I grip the mouse, I find that I'm pinching the sides with my thumb and ring/pinky fingers and keeping my palm raised above the surface of the mouse. It's not significantly more uncomfortable to use, it's just a little more tiring over a long period of time.
It's a good value and works
February 28, 2014
I needed a mouse for a new laptop that had the silly glide pad on it. While that is better than the ridiculous eraser knob it's still lousy at best. Nothing beats a real mouse and until we all have a Jarvis system like in IronMan and can lose all this silly interface garbage -- but I digress. In my career, I have used all sorts of track balls, Kinect like things and more, but for now a good keyboard and mouse is hard to replace.I prefer the Microsoft mice, but since I am bound by strict rules of frugality, I look for a good value, or something cheap. I read the various reviews for other cheap mice and it seemed like either the issues were too light, too small, or too loud clicking action. This mouse is decently sized, a little on the light side, and has average sounding clicks. My hand is not small but I am not looking for some monstrosity mouse either so it feels fine. Under Windows 7, it works great with no issues. It has been about two months and it still works fine. The wheel is decent too.I have better mice at work, but this one is fine for home use which meets frugal standards. 4.5 overall.
Okay, this is Not my favorite mouse, but for the money it's OK.
January 17, 2013
This is perfect to have sitting around ready to go in case of emergency. Frankly, if you want to know just how important it is to have an emegency spare mouse just sitting on the shelf..... just unplug your mouse and try to do anything on your computer without it..... that'll teach you to even try it once! Ha ha!This is a great mouse to put on the shelf just in case your mouse dies on you..... they seldom give any warning, they just stop working... the end. Now what? Well, since they are all pretty much USB controlled any more, all you need to do is unplug your present mouse at the USB connector, and then plug this one back in, and the system will will find it in a few seconds. (This is just a good, cheap, basic function mouse, in a small white box.) With that simple action you are up and running in a few minutes. This is exactly what happened to me this last week. I was certainly glad I had picked up a couple of these, and had the computer fully functioning as I said in just a few minutes. I later got a new Logitec mouse and traded, putting this one back on the shelf again for the next emergency. Cheap insurance. enjoy!
Great mouse overall
May 27, 2011
This is a great, inexpensive mouse that fits well with just about any computing area. The shape fits a hand well, the buttons are responsive and don't make obnoxious clicking noises, and the scroll wheel is smooth and quiet. I would definitely recommend this mouse to anyone.Cons: only the standard 3 buttons. This isn't a con for me, but I can see how it would be for some.

If you need a basic mouse... this will do the job
April 13, 2017
It's an okay mouse. Nothing special to it. The scroll wheel ended up dying on me fairly early on, but I do play a game that requires me to use it fairly often. The mouse clicks were louder than what I'd like.
It working good before my kid drop it
March 21, 2017
It working good before my kid drop it, since it was 5 year warranty so I got a replacement of it
definitely not a gaming mouse if you're a pet owner!
December 22, 2016
I really liked it for a while. It was a good price and it worked well.... buuuuuuuuut if you are a pet owner, you will hate having to deal with this. You remember those ball mice and having to clean it every so often? Well Kensington thought it would be a great idea to give it a hole area where the red light shines out of. Well, unfortunately pet hair keeps getting caught there which affects its use. It gets annoying when you notice it during a game. I don't think you would notice it all too much working on normal stuff.I wouldn't recommend this if you're a gamer and own a pet that sheds sheds sheds.
Very uncomfortable fit but works as expected
February 25, 2015
Fast shipping, works as expected. However the shape is very awkward and isn't comfortable in my hand, which is on the small side. Its just a backup usb mouse for when I'm having problems with my bluetooth, so I won't be using it much. Still debating whether to send it back, since I've never done that with amazon and it was so inexpensive I'm not sure its worth it. I can't imagine that it works for anybody, although obviously it does work for many. Still, I can't recommend based on that.
Too big and too loud for me
February 28, 2014
I have used Kensington mice in the past and have liked them. However, I ordered this one kind of site unseen because the product description lacked size info. It arrived packed well and is nice looking, but it was just too big for me (4.5" x 2.5"), and worse, it was very loud. The clicks were high pitched and echoey, and the scroll wheel gave off a small grinding sound as well. Keep in mind this is compared to other Kensington's I've had, which have all been relatively quiet. I'd say I have average size hands for a 5'4" woman- with this mouse, my hand laid over it completely, from palm to fingertip and left my wrist with nothing to lean on, so it was just too big. I'm returning it for a 'netbook' sized mouse, which tend to be quieter and about the right size (3.5" x 1.5") most of the time.
A Bit Too Loud
November 18, 2012
I'm normally not too picky with things like this. I just wanted a plain cordless mouse. I liked that the mouse was light and worked fine. The only problem was it was just too loud. I'm used to hearing a clicking noise but it's normally a low key clicking noise. This was a bit higher key and it was a bit annoying so I'm going to get a new mouse.Works good for the price, but if you don't want to deal with the annoyance of the higher key sound, I'd get a microsoft mouse or find a "silent mouse"

Not the worst thing in the world for the price

Worked for a bit. Not the worst thing in the world for the price, but clearly some better options out there.
Long key travel, Noisy, and space bar issue
March 6, 2017
The review is specifically for the keyboard. I bought the keyboard mouse combo. No complaints for the mouse, but I am not sure of the high rating for the combo. First of all, keyboard strokes have long travel for me, and I somehow keep missing the space bar which is annoying. I don't have this happening for the 3 or 4 other keyboards I use at work. Have this for about a year and all keys still work for me.
Not very functional and too Noisy
March 20, 2015
I am trying to find a mouse that is relatively inexpensive but doesn't need batteries replaced periodically. This restricts me too much.BUT the major problem is that the buttons make too much noise when using them; it gets quite annoying after only a few minutes of use.I don't play games with my remote but I do most of my work on the computer so I would like to find a USB-rechargeable mouse that does not have all of the extra buttons that are used for gaming. Everything I have found so far is usually more than what I want to spend ($40 or so) or has all of the extraneous buttons I don't require for work.Any ideas? Thanks
The computer mouse conundrum.
October 18, 2014
Even though I have returned this item, I wanted to write a review due to the lack of understanding shown by companies making computer mice of any type. I do not mean construction parts etc. No, this is failure to take into consideration the reality of "your" hand. Recently, much time has been spent trying to find a mouse that can replace the "gear head" wireless I have had for over 5 years. I had purchased 3 at once due to a great sale at Menards of all places and they were fantastic but of course no longer available anywhere. What made them so? Low palm height...what you say...no, they must all be high in the middle keeping our hand in an extremely uncomfortable and unnatural position. What a bunch of BS. Ergonomically, I could find no data to support any theory of height. So let me give you some figures... Gear Head digital at the highest point = just above 2cm or below 1in keeping your hand in a natural position to resting your arm on your computer chair. A Gateway of several years, just above 3cm or 1 1/4in, tolerable but still exhausting on the hand after hours of computer research. The new returned Kensington, over 3cm and over 1 1/2in extremely bad for your inner palm and unnatural. Do you know anyone who holds their hand like this? So ask yourself why carpal tunnel syndrome has become so pronounced in our society today. My request is that Microsoft, Gateway, Logitech, Kensington, Dell, Gear Head (who has followed the trend unfortunately) and the many others "please save our hands and cost of health care". And about those flat mice....are you kidding me, that is not natural either. Do you test your products anymore?
Works, but buttons are entirely too small
January 26, 2013
For the price, I really can't bash this mouse all that much. It works, I'll give it that much. Unfortunately, the right and left-click buttons are surrounded by a hard plastic that greatly reduces the clickable surface area. When you look at the actual button surface area, you're left with a space that's less than an inch wide. As a result, I found myself constantly 'clicking' the hard plastic area instead of the actual button. Sure, it looks nice, but in my opinion the usability of this mouse is greatly hampered by the 'form over function' design choices.
2 weeks later: DEAD
July 7, 2012
Worked fine for the first week, even while playing pc games. Second week, started to die on me randomly. I would unplug it, and then reconnect, which would sometimes work. After the end of the second week, however, this works less than 1/2 the time. It's annoying enough when I'm doing simple tasks such as word processors or web browsing, but when I suddenly lose control of my mouse during a hectic part of a game, that is just infuriating. As of today, it works for about 10 minutes before I have to try to reconnect it several times. Useless.

Long life...1 weekend and that was that
August 5, 2017
So we bought two for the beach house which means they got used maybe for a couple of days in November when we got them. Now we are back there and no matter which laptop we put them in the answer it is always the same:" xxx does not recognized this thing you just tried to fool us with. Take it off, or you will regret it otherwise!" The lights go on, off at will of course, and we are ready to throw them out after two or three nerve twisting usages.Kensington used to be a reliable maker but if something bought November 2016 and used for barely a weekend dies by July, without having been used at all and 4 laptops get the fits, my faith on their made in China ( quelle surprise!) has turned me off to Kensington after all these years. I certainly won't buy anything from them again.
Don't buy this.
March 2, 2017
It worked for a while and then stopped. Then it worked. Then it didn't. After this happened several times, I gave up on it.
You get what you pay for
December 6, 2014
And what I got for trying to pinch pennies Is another poorly constructed mouse that didn't last 2 weeks before it became unusable. It started out great at first and if I had reviewed it during the first couple of weeks I would have given it 5 stars. After that, thought, the scroll wheel button function became so sensitive I couldn't use the wheel to scroll without clicking it accidently. It has gotten so bad the mouse is now unusable. I suspect all the 5 star reviews don't reflect the durability of the item and convinces me to pay even more attention to negative reviews, but now I'm wandering off topic and drifting into speculation. I will be spending more on my next mouse in the hopes of getting something more durable.
stopped working in a week!!
December 26, 2013
I got this one first and within one week, I had to get a new mouse. I was busy with school so I didnt have to time to return it but seriously, why the quality is so bad?! And my new mouse from longitech did not last long as well. I really started to wonder why it is so hard to make a good mouse nowadays:(
9-day wonder [not]
November 21, 2013
bought this because it had the best stars - well, it DIED in nine days, and while alive, the cord was stiff and awkward. the mouse did not 'flow' smoothly. have to realize that although the manufacturer's name stays the same, in these days of out-sourcing and get-it-made-in-the-cheapest-way possible, my mouse might not have been made in the same factory/country as so many of those mice [mouses?] rated five stars! fortunately, amazon has a great return policy so back it went - and i have just hooked up my new "AmazonBasics 3-Button USB Wired Mouse (Black)" - which, tho a prime item and promised to arrive in two days, didn't - it arrived in ONE day! well, it moves smooth-as-silk and is $ CHEAPER. I'll go enter a five-star review on it - as soon as i know that it works longer than 9 days ! ;-)
Listen to everyone else, worked for about a half hour- then stopped.
January 31, 2013
I, like everyone else was hoping that this mouse would work and it seemed to do just that. I had it plugged in, it worked perfectly fine. Unlike some other reviewers, I didn't notice that the bottom wasn't flat or anything like that, but like a lot of others- this thing just quit working. It still sort of works- for instance right now if I click the button, it clicks. It will left click and right click, even bringing up a menu... but it won't actually move the arrow. Unfortunately for me, I left this thing in the box for the last month and a half before I tried it, so it's not even like I can return it. Lucky me... I apparently came into an extra eight bucks that I decided to just donate to Amazon.Stay away... you can get a different mouse probably just as cheap... and it will work.
