Best tuner I've ever had.
July 20, 2016
Wow, it's great! I got this for my 9 year old who is learning to play guitar. I have tons of electric tuners (okay, two), but nothing decent and easy to use for acoustic. I found this guy, and it's so handy I bought one for myself and my older boy who is learning bass. Works great on electric, no need to even plug in, I guess it goes off of vibrations. Its probably the only tuner I'll ever use from here on out it's so handy, easy, and convenient. But here comes the crazy part:My 9year old, being a 9 year old, managed to somehow drop his straight into a glass of water. I pulled it out, took the battery out and let it dry out for a day. I didn't even do the bowl of rice trick, just set it out. Put it back together the next day (I don't even think it was fully dry), and it's worked like a charm still, ever since. WOW! I probably wouldn't recommend for underwater use, but I am impressed by it's durability. I thought it was a goner for sure.
Perfect little tuner, either for at home or on the road.

There being only the one picture on the page i feel inclined to point out that this thing is actually fairly small. However that is probably the worst thing about this. The screen is very vivid and incredibly smooth during use. The swiveling neck also means that, once you attach it, it becomes very easy to move around so you can see it regardless of how you're holding the guitar. This is also the very first "clip on" tuner that I've ever liked, all my previous tuners have been ones that you plug the jack into because the clip on ones were either wildly inaccurate or were slow to assess what note you were playing. The Snark SN-5 however picked up the note immediately and was spot on, i would also like to say how happy i am that it actually picked up the low B on my 7-string, a feat most previous tuners had extreme difficulty with. The only other thing i should note is that i haven't had it for very long so i can't speak to anything like battery life or how it deals with wear and tear. All in all, a perfect piece of equipment, would definitely buy again.
Great little tuner.

I have about 5 different Snarks and they are hands down the best clip-on tuner out there. I've had several different brands and they ALL suck compared to the Snarks. Never a problem tracking whatsoever. The most basic model (this one) is actually the best out of all of them IMO. I've had to change batteries but they last a good while. The bright dial is perfect in every setting, it's unobtrusive, and it always works regardless of what you're doing with your volume level. The only drawback at all is that I wish the spring clamp was a little bit more stiff so as to clamp "harder"; for example on a standard Tele headstock there's not a lot of real estate for it to grab onto so you may knock it off if you're a spaz (I am). Gibsons, or any 6-on-a-side headstocks, are perfect. I never plug into a tuner anymore, this is just so much easier to use. And cheap! You could buy 10 of them for the cost of a new BOSS--and unless they've improved the BOSS markedly since the TU-2, they work way better.
Great Tool for Tuning Any Musical Instrument
March 27, 2016
I just got my first guitar and know nothing about music other than I enjoy listening to it. This is one of those retirement hobbies and my brother bought me the guitar (pretty cool!!!). I didn't even know what the strings were (EADGBE I now know...). This is a super cool little tool to adjust each string. I had no idea how it worked until it arrived, but it listens to sound and then displays what note it is. From the picture I thought you clipped it to the string, but actually it can go anywhere; on the neck of the guitar or the edge of a table, or wherever else you want to place it. I assume it could be used for any musical instrument. I even tried singing some notes and it picked those up too. The gauge will tell you the closest note to what is being played. It also has a nice dial that tells you when it isn't quite there because the string is a little too tight or loose; i.e. it's really easy to fine tune the string to get it just perfect.Ok, I'm impressed with this little gadget and it's been extremely useful for me to get my guitar tuned.
Wish I would have bought one sooner
March 5, 2016
I scoffed at these at music stores, thinking "how many tuners does a person need". I have an inline tuner and a tuner built into my pedal effects board. And yet, after an acoustic gig where plugging in was a problem, I broke down and bought myself one. I haven't looked back. I've used it with my guitar, bass, and Uke.What i liked about it is that I can tune between songs or even during a song without changing anything. I leave it on my headstock most of the time when I play. It's compact, fits inside your case with ease, even if you have a tight-fitting contour case. I find it gets accurate readings on an electric guitar without the guitar being turned on in a noisy room. It is no frills - don't expect it to sound a pitch for you to match, and it's not chromatic, so it's not going to be any good to tune brass instruments or anything like that. But, for your guitar, bass, violin, ukulele or mandolin, it works well. The only complaint - and it's not really a complaint for me - is that it's somewhat like clipping a capo to your headstock. It's going to take away from the look of the guitar. So, if you don't like that, you're not going to like the tuner.

March 1, 2016
I was skeptical about how well this tuner would work. When it arrived I tried it immediately, I was very impressed! The simplicity in which it works is amazing, you clamp it on to the head of your guitar, turn it on and tune your strings. the bright color display is very easy to read as you adjust the pitch of the strings. I have other tuners that you have to plug in to your guitar and the inconvenience of needing a cord every time you want to tune your guitar was tolerated but frustrating. I also have another tuner that had a microphone as well as a plug in, but the room would have to be very quite in order to get an accurate tune using the microphone. This tuner is small so it fits in my gig bag without a problem. I can now keep my guitars in tune when ever and where ever I want without a problem. I would recommend this to tuner to anyone and every one.

Good pix 4 the money.
May 20, 2017
These pix r great. Some people have mentioned that they wear a little faster than the heavier ones, but that makes sense. Every grade of pik makes a particular sound on the strings, and has it's own unique characteristics of wear. Can't beat 'em 4 the money! Good assortment of colors.
Awesome picks!!
March 9, 2017
These pics are outstanding and very durable. The colors are great and they work perfectly for my 10 year-old sonwho is learning to play guitar.

Good general use picks
August 14, 2016
These picks are great for general use, both picking and strumming. I keep a bunch stored in one of those spring-loaded pick holders close to my guitars. All of the colors are the same type and thickness. Sure, I have many other picks that I depending on what I am playing, but these are great grab-and-go picks.
Great Picks, Great Price
July 27, 2016
Great price on this set of picks and they're tough. I began to wonder why I needed more than one because I couldn't break it or wear it out. I've got lots of others but I think I'll stick with D'Addario for my picks. And they look great, when you play like I do maybe attractive picks can help?
Good quality!
July 15, 2015
Love these picks for my acoustic guitar. I'm glad they're colorful so they won't get lost, although I have a habit of losing them all the time which is why I bought a bunch. They're pretty durable; I've been using them for over a year now and have no problems whatsoever and only lost two. The grip is decent as well, another set of picks my friend gave me had some sort of waxy coating and they used to slip out of my hands when I played. I don't have that problem with these. Overall, I would definitely recommend them, you can't really find much better for this price.

Lasts forever. Super Worth.
September 14, 2017
I have had this for so long already, about 6 years, and now I got to review it. The capo is a gem, its design and functionality is very good. The thing is tough specially at first, and you want that so that it doesnt get loose as you use it.When I use this it presses on my strings very well and allows me to play with ease. The capo after 6 years is still tight and functions like new. I love it and it helps me enjoy playing my guitar.Pros- lasts forever- works on both Electric and Acoustic- design makes it easy to use and adjustCon- you dont have it yet. BUY IT now.
Very nice unit
May 9, 2017
I purchased this to replace the capo I misplaced. I am very happy with the purchase and recommend this to anyone looking for a nice or second capo. It has plastic protection for the neck and it easily adjustable for the amount of tension. IT is a little awkward to mount but I think as time goes by it will be easier. the leverage required is minimal and I think anyone should be able to mount.
Excellent quality Capo made of heavy duty Aluminum, that's also "Made In USA"
January 26, 2017
Excellent quality Capo made of heavy duty Aluminum, that's also "Made In USA". This capo is wide enough to cover the my son's Lucero LC100S acoustic guitar (which has a wide neck). We previously used a cheap capo from eBay, but it didn't cover all the strings. The spring is strong, but doesn't leave any "clamp" marks on the neck. This capo was recommended to us by my son's Flamenco teacher, and it works great.
Better than the G7th for more than half the price.
October 8, 2016
I have recently been experimenting with different capos, though I have used a Shubb for years and recently purchased one with an updated design. Nevertheless, I'm pleasantly surprised with this capp. I have another, what I would call a "lever-action" capo, that I got for about the same price. I have been reasonably happy with that one, but this particular capo exerts more pressure than the G7th capo I bought for easily twice the price. In fact, I find this one to be a better capo than the G7th. MOre than likely, I will robably alternate between my new Shubb and this capo, so I am very happy with it.
Handy, secure capo.
April 21, 2016
Easy to use and holds strings securely. Handy to just clip it to the head when not in use. Doesn't interfere with playing. Nice looking, too.
Ultimate Quick Change Guitar Capo
April 18, 2015
The ultimate quick change guitar capo! When you are up on stage and have to switch where your guitar is capoed or if your guitar is capoed at all (just snap this on your headstock) this is the capo for you. All you need is one hand to swiftly move the capo. The best way I can describe how it works is like a clothespin or chip bag clip only much more durable and shouldn't harm your guitar. This particular capo is designed for a steel stringed (not classical) 6 stringed acoustic guitar although it can be used with a slimmer necked 12 string and it's just fine. This company does make this capo for classical, electrics, and 12 stringed guitar as well as a large variety of colors/pattern. This is our second Kyser 6 String capo as the first one lost the clear rubber end that protects the back of the neck while in use. That one was used for years and could still be used if we could have only found the clear rubber thing. They do loosen up a bit over time with a lot of use, but still always seem to work. Never had a problem with fret buzz--but that could also be in part the guitars we use it with. Would highly recommend this capo as it was highly recommend to us originally but another long time guitarist.

the guy said it was a great guitar, this store carried oscar schmidt ukes
April 10, 2017
After playing it for about a month, I took it to a music store to check the action. I am new to guitar, so any help I can get to play better-- It checked out, needed no alterations, in fact, the guy said it was a great guitar, this store carried oscar schmidt ukes. I practice a lot, so I am getting better with basic chord changes ever so slowly. It does not need tuning often ( I have a Snark tuner which is great, too). I can tell the difference with the higher end acoustics like Yamaha, Taylor in the video tutorials on youtube in the resonance, but this is my first guitar, so it works for me! I am 60, it is never too late to learn.
This thing is beautiful and sounds great
February 8, 2017
Unbelievable value! This thing is beautiful and sounds great. The pick guard is fantastically ugly, but $5 and a hair dryer fixes that. The inlaid portions look better than other guitars I have had that cost several times more. The neck is smaller than other acoustics I have played and the action is good, it feels like an easy transition between electrics and this guitar. Very satisfied with it!
Beautiful, nice sounding guitar
September 15, 2016
It's a beautiful guitar and garners lots of compliments. The spalted maple look is brilliant and I have not seen other guitars like it. The sound is good but not perfect, it could benefit from fret tuning, but overall sounds great out of the box after the strings are properly stretched, and is a very high quality product for the money. The mother of pearl accents look great, the nubone pieces are nice, and strings are of higher quality than I expected to come with it. I have not had to replace it.I've had it for over six months now and have had no issues, and continue to enjoy it more each day.Packaging was great and there was no damage to the guitar on arrival.Would recommend for a new guitar if you care about looks. I would say the comparable Yamaha may have a very, very slight advantage in sound, but for the spectacular look of this guitar and comparably good sound I would buy this one again in a heartbeat. I also think it's going to look great ten years from now!
Amazing price for beautifully constructed guitar!
January 15, 2016
Perfect! Absolutely perfect.I will admit that I don't know much about guitars, so I took it to a friend whom owns some very amazing (and expensive) guitars.... He has been playing guitar for 20+ years. He liked the guitar so much he had a hard time putting it down.Great guitar!
Beautiful Guitar with Great Sound
February 9, 2015
I have to agree with the reviewer who said the photo doesn't do it justice. It's a beautiful instrument and the sound is amazing. I was pleasantly surprised. Tuned up nice. Great for my needs, just playing around. Packed well - guitar box inside another box.ETA: I've had it for a few months now and really love this guitar. I was a little shocked to pull it out of the case the other after not playing it for over three weeks to find it almost perfectly in tune (PS Love my SNARK tuner).
Intrigued by the Look, Amazed by the quality
November 24, 2014
I was intrigued by the spalted maple top.....so for 150 bucks, what the heck, but WOW, what a great guitar (I own and play over a dozen guitars, gig a couple time a month). Most of my guitars are acoustic electric, so i bought this one as a strictly acoustic to bang around on. Again, WOW, right out of the box, the thing looks meticulous, the action was perfect, nice and low, and a really great sound, stays in tune.....I ran it through for a couple hours of non stop playing....still in tune. The nut and saddle are some kind of synthetic bone, not cheap plastic (i usually change out the nut and saddles on my guitars for real bone, but no point with this one. the Oscar Schmidt brand is quite old, went to their website and read a little about this guitar before purchasing it. I guess Washburn owns the Oscar S. line. This guitar is easily worth twice the money, even though I believe it's all laminated, but maybe the sound board is solid maple (in two pieces, it's book matched. If you're looking for something really good sounding and playing for under 200 bucks, don't hesitate to get one of these.

i'm very pleased with the quality and price
September 22, 2017
i was nervous buying a guitar stand without putting my guitar on it first. there are so many reviews out there about guitar stands falling over. this one is a good quality product, i tested how much it would take to topple the guitar and it's a reasonable amount and unlikely to happen under normal conditions. i don't think a dog passing by would knock it over, for example. i wasn't in love with having a stand with a neck rest because of how it looks but it doesn't look awkward and i see the security that it affords.
Great, but holds my guitars crooked
May 24, 2017
The quality is above what I expected. Although my guitars don't sit level. I think it's due to the fact that the bottom piece that holds the lower half of the guitar is on a sort of swivel that allows it to rock back and forth. It's stable once a guitar is on it but I can't seem to make my guitar perfectly straight up and down. It's one of those things though where it's hard to notice unless you're actually looking for it. Overall good product. Might buy a couple more. Bought for my Gretsch G5420T and one of my Martin guitars. It holds the thinner guitars well such as my fender and my Gretsch (I guess if you consider that a thinner guitar) as well as the thick acoustics. Not too shabby at all.
Great stand at any price
July 16, 2016
This stand works well and seems to be well built. Many reviewers are whining about the back leg being so short and the unit being unstable. I find that to be incorrect, unless their children destroy everything in sight. I have four of these stands and none of them have ever damaged any of my basses, A Fender Jazz Bass V, four string Ibanez, five string Ibanez, and six string Ibanez. None of these are inexpensive or light weight instruments. When I need additional stands, these will be my choice.
Just a beginner, but I like it.
June 20, 2016
I've just begun picking up bass, and as such i've been practicing everyday. Getting the bass out of the bag every day to practice was starting to become a pain so I picked this up to sit in the corner of my room. it's very easy to grab my bass, practice and put it back. Anywhere the touches the guitar is covered in a foam type material. The kick stands are rubber. It also comes apart which makes it easy to move around.I really like it. There's a small rubber locking mechanism for your guitar that's at the top. I've found it's very easy to take off and put it back on.All in all I really love this thing, it's made practicing much less of a process every day, I can just grab the bass and practice.
Very good, especially for the price.
April 16, 2016
I own several of these. They are solid enough, adjustable, and very good for acoustic guitar, electric guitar, and bass. Also, these are cheaper here on Amazon than at Guitar Center. The only problem I've had with these stands is that the bottom part is too wide to support a Seagull 039227 Merlin Spruce SG Dulcimer 4-String Diatonic Instrument. For that instrument, I bought one of these: Hola! Heavy Duty Folding Universal Guitar Stand - Fits Acoustic, Classical, Electric and Bass Guitars - BlackHola stands are good, but don't have the upper support that these On State stands have. I think these stands are better for guitars and basses.
Good item!
February 19, 2016
It is a good item to have for a guitar. No more wall scratches.

Dead simple to use, but a challenge to clip onto violins...
January 5, 2017
First, the downside (why it lost a star): I purchased this to tune a rather cheap violin that I bought to try violin and see if I enjoyed it (if not, hey - photo prop!). For what I paid, I knew I wouldn't regret it as long as it could clip to the violin and was accurate. But that's the downside of advertising as a violin tuner - the pegbox of a violin is drastically different from the headstock of a guitar or bass guitar. In the end, I ended up clipping it to the bridge of the violin (probably not the best idea, but hey - I did say it was a cheap violin) and that worked. Now, the pluses: it's dead-simple to use. The most complicated bit is trying to move the gauge around on the swivels to line up to be most comfortable to view - this does NOT use a gooseneck connection like some resonator-based tuners. If it's a vibration-based instrument and you can clip it to a part that resonates, you can tune it with this pretty darn accurately and easily. I'm sure it will work perfectly when I test it on a bass guitar. Also, it comes with a kinda snazzy little bag. I don't know exactly why, but hey - it's a bonus. For the price and being dead-simple to use, it can't be beat for most instruments. If it's got a pegbox instead of a headstock or soundboard, it may be a bit more of a challenge to find a good place to clip it. I look forward to the inevitable video of someone using it to tune a piano or harpsichord.
Accurate, fast detection ...
March 14, 2016
Works well :) Big bright readout that is accurate and fast detection. The clamp is solid... I used it for two days and battery meter already down to 40% .. (Not sure if original battery is the issue).. CR2032 button battery is relatively cheap so no biggie).Prime membership delivered in two days as promised :) I have to take a star off due to the metronome feature is not available ... Reading through the manual, there was no mentions of that feature but it is part of Amazon product description ... I can see the LED has the metronome layout but just can't get to that function. Only front button for on/off... I pressed and hold but nothing changes ... Overall, it is a tuner and it works well so far ...
Snark SN-5 - makes tuning easy
December 27, 2015
This guitar tuner will make easy work of tuning your guitar. I used it on a classical guitar with nylon strings, a four-string bass guitar and an electric guitar. The job of getting to the right pitch is easy to get used to with the Snark’s tachometer-style display. The Snark plugged onto each of my guitars without any problem. After the strings are tuned, the pitch is correct across the board. I checked to see if there was any drift on the display after a few minutes. As far as I could tell, there was no change due to the electronics. I would say that this tuner will save people a lot of time and hassle. The Snark is very sensitive to your touching any of the strings (other than the one you are working with). You barely have to touch the other string and it will register on the Snark’s display. At this point, you have to damp the string and wait a couple of seconds for the display to go quiet. Same thing happens if you bump the body of the guitar while tuning a string.I like the idea of being able to accurately tune without having to deal with the beats, but it is good to know how to do that, too. I wish that the Snark model that I have showed the actual frequency. It would be nice if it could show you the beats between two strings so that you could tune to the same sharp or flat scale for all the strings or just one string.I like the Snark and I am glad I got one. I am being very careful with it because it is not very robust. I think keeping it in a box when not in use is a great idea. Overall, I found the tuner to be pretty darned good.
This is very easy to understand after you use it once
August 15, 2015
This little tool clamps onto the guitar head. It picks up the string vibrations and shows you each string key, and if your sharp or flat on that key. I was way off on the tone and had to tighten the strings until this tuner responded with the thin light blue indicating your right on! If your off key, there is red or yellow gauge graduations on each side of the blue marker to tell you how far you are off. This is very easy to understand after you use it once. Some people just leave it attached to quickly check if your still in tune. You can easily turn it on or off with ease. I did notice that while tuning one string, the others need to be silenced by just muting them with my hand or fingers. This tuner can be used in daylight and in dark lit room. Great accurate time saver and inexpensive too.
It's a good tuner, but you have to have an ear to tune any guitar
June 25, 2015
Seriously, do most people think they can get a good chord sound by tuning open strings with a tuner and taking what they get? That's ridiculous on an acoustic guitar! I use that as a very rough starting point. Then, I tune to get the best sound on the main chords, which often requires me to flat the high E and the B slightly, as well as the flatting the low E a lot more, depending on the key. Then I make subtle adjustments until the main chords chime and the others aren't too bad. Every move of the capo requires a subtle adjustment using this procedure. Yes, I know that this means the guitar has intonation issues (but all dozen of my acoustic and classical guitars do, even after I hand carve saddles to adjust the intonation). It takes a lot of tech work to get good (much less perfect) intonation on an acoustic guitar, so I don't expect perfection. I arrange my songs sets in order of ascending capo position, to minimize the tweaking required. With a 12-string, this process can be especially maddening. If my 12-string didn't have nearly perfect intonation I would have dumped it long ago.
Never enough Snarks
May 30, 2012
My dad recently started playing the banjo and when he was showing me around Christmas time he pulled out his snark to start tuning. I was genuinely impressed! Gone are the days of pulling out your metronome and listening to that irritating A440 whine coming out and tuning to that. My sister plays violin/viola and I just started playing mandolin about 6 weeks ago. Whenever we get together we pass around the snark and have to take turns tuning... not for long though as i expect mine to arrive sometime this weekend. The display is super easy to read, it stays securely clipped to your headstock (as long as you aren't swinging your instrument around wildly in the heat of the moment), it seems to be reasonably accurate, and my dad has had his for at least 6 months without changing the battery. I guess it might be nicer if it had a metronome built in but that's not what this device is... and by the way, it detects the pitch by measuring the vibration, there is no mic which makes it perfect for tuning in noisy places where a tv in the background can mess up your audio input.I would and probably will recommend this product to any and all who are in the market and interested in hearing my testimonial.

Great picks and i even got one extra 11th pick. Don't know if that was by accident or merchandiser was nice. Picks are nice but a little too thin. I should've purchased a bit thicker ones.
OK

Good stiff pickers picks. I like anything by D'Addario. These are pretty much in the same league with any other Celluloid pick however. Nice color assortment. But other than the name, there really isn't any difference than the average pick..

These are great little pics. Nothing fancy but they get the job done. Good assortment of colors. The finish on them is nice and there is no sharp edges like I've found on some other cheap pics. I do wish it was also an assortment of hardness but it's not. Overall for the price I'd buy them again if I needed more.

Good for acoustic
May 23, 2017
Good capo for my acoustic which has thick strings. On the other hand, I have a Tele with thin strings and the capo is so tight that it bends the strings out of tune especially on the lower frets. I wouldn't recommend it for an electric with jumbo frets and thin strings.
"It's beautiful, it's true"
May 15, 2017
Nice capo. A friend recommended it who has been playing for almost ten years. He said Kyser was THE go-to brand for capos. So I trusted him and bought one myself. I really like it overall and find it out be well made. The very minor gripe I have is the fact that it was slightly squeeky straight out of the packaging. I realize this is minor since I will just put a drop of oil in the hinge, and half a drop on where the spring comes into contact with the handle. On a side note: is there any purpose to the curved end to one of the handles? Also is it just for astheric reasons that it's scalloped on the back of the fretboard jaw?Anyway great capo! Have a great day and I'm going to get back to learning "You're Beautiful" (by James Blunt).Peace
This is a great capo for the price

This is a great capo for the price. The only thing I didn't like is that the bottom is flat, so positioning it to hold all the strings without pulling them one direction or the other kind of a pain.
Great but tight spring for a kid
August 22, 2016
This was recommended to us by a very talented adult guitarist who uses it and loves it.Our son who is 9 however, can manage it ok but it is a challenge for him to open and position. It is a tight spring. We use it but our 9 yr old is determined. If you have a child with a weak grip it may not be a good fit.
Not 100% pattern that you see...
December 4, 2015
I was a little confused by this capo. This is the second time I have purchased this capo from the same company, but this time it was a little different. For some reason the nice camo look you see in the picture is only one sided. So half is the pattern you see in the picture, but the other half is some strange camo that doesn't look as nice. This is most confusing because I had purchased this same capo only 1 year ago and had lost it which is why I purchased it again, but the one I lost was this pattern on the entire capo. Otherwise, it functions as a capo. Obviously, though, when you buy a camo capo you want a camo capo.
Works perfect, little hard to one-hand move quickly
September 6, 2015
This is lightweight, small, and does the job perfectly. HOWEVER, it is very difficult to one-hand change this thing. I thought I was just not doing it right, but then I used a friends capo and it was a completely different kind of mechanism. Again this is great and works perfect, I just wish it was more of a light squeeze and move, rather than a forearm workout squeeze tool.

Good guitar for the price
June 1, 2017
This was my second guitar and as a beginner I had no complaints. It sounds great and is a great guitar for finger-style (which I specialize in). It has a bright and crisp sound. I do admit that it does not look exactly as I thought it would based on the pictures however, hence only 4 stars

This guitar was so fresh out of the box that It smelled like lacquer! It is a beautiful little guitar and the overall fit and finish is as good as many, more expensive, acoustic guitars I've owned. The action on mine wasn't set as low as some other reviewers but was still pretty decent and the intonation is spot on. The guitar sounds better the more I play it (I swear) as it seems to open up and breath a bit. The neck width is kind of slight and suits my medium sized paws! A good neck to be sure. It has a strong mid range and the decent strings help of course. The bottom end (bass) is weak compared to a Takamine of mine. The spalted Maple top is beautiful but also thin. Overall though, this thing is awesome for the money and is fun to play.
Very nice look and sound
August 31, 2016
Very nice look and sound! I am happy with my purchase. The only thing would be it is very light and the wood is not very good quality like they describe however a good guitar for the price
This doesn't sound or look like a $140 guitar
May 17, 2016
Wow... This doesn't sound or look like a $140 guitar. I am really impressed and so pleased in the workmanship that went into this 'Spalted' guitar. Perhaps a bit heavy on the lacquer finish - it shines beautifully, though - but it brings out the awesome look of the maple that got infected with a fungus, thus darkening between the wood layers. I'd totally buy this again. As a guitar player for 20+yrs, I really like this and would play this guitar on stage!
well worth the money
April 18, 2016
Sounds and looks really nice. Only gripes are the pick guard was placed crooked and covers about 25% of one of the sound hole rosettes (it shouldnt cover the rosette at all). I ordered a set of medium Martin strings to replace the fairly light factory strings since they dont have the mellowness or sustain i'd like. The action is just a wee lil high for my tastes towards the higher frets so I will be lowering the action slightly when the new strings come in. For the money its a really good looking and sounding guitar and would please most beginner and intermediate players with realistic expectations for a guitar in the OG2SMG price range.

Great stands, great price.
April 12, 2017
I've purchased many of these over the years and though they seem to be getting a little "economical" in their construction - still can't beat them for the bang for the buck. Ever since I had a guitar slide off a stand (many, many moons ago) on stage, I've always went with these. The neck strap is a godsend.
It works, but you get what you pay for
March 24, 2017
As other reviewers have mentioned, this stand is a bit thin and not very stable. Thanks to those reviews I don't pick it up with the guitar, I move them separately. I used to set my cheap guitar next to me - against the bed, a table, the couch, whatever, and it would fall over sometimes when bumped lightly. When I bought a good guitar I also got this stand and it works as a safe place to put it nearby between playing, and then move it out of the way when I'm done. So I have to be careful to keep the thin cheap tubing in mind when moving and when placing the guitar in the stand, but other than that it's fine for how cheap it is.It does what it's meant to, hold the guitar.Double check your guitars finish, some will interact with the foam padding.
Good stand!
April 23, 2016
Seems to be pretty reliable stand that is very easy to put together. My guitar only sits on the stand in my room, so i don't know how easy it is to travel with the stand. The quality of the materials seems high. The only thing that I found less than ideal was that the support bar (U-shaped) at the bottom of the stand that the guitar rests on doesn't stay in place. It pivots, but stays in place when the instrument is resting on it. That, however, is a very minor complaint.
Good, but not Great - has two issues
December 29, 2015
I like this for what I use it for, which is a full size acoustic guitar. There are a few issues with it. The metal it's self is solid and put together well. The height of the neck from the swivel base (not the floor) is adjustable from 21" up to about 26" (and still able to use the screw in the back to secure the adjustable neck). The pictures are exactly what you get, so I didn't see the point of taking another picture of the stand. The two issues I have with this stand is 1. It is in fact very unstable. While it's just sitting around, it's nice and as long as it is out of the way then it's fine. If you barely push it diagonally to the back left or back right, it will easily fall over. If it is sitting in a corner you wont have to worry about it. If it is on a stage, in a more high traffic area, or if there are other items around that could push in to it or if you're in a rush to put it down, dog/kids in house - it could easily fall over. I have mine in a corner like most people probably do, however that's a major concern for a stand. The rear peg is just too short. 2. The pads on the metal aren't very high quality. Although they are fine for light use around the house and will probably last a year or more, they will wear out and need to be replaced for sure. They are not very thick but do the job.I really debated on giving it three stars, but for how I'm using it (in home only) and the price, I believe it rated 4 stars. If you want to take it with you somewhere, I would consider a different option.
Great value, adequately stable.
July 11, 2015
For ten bucks a toss, who can quibble? I wanted something that supported the neck, because I had a couple of mishaps with other designs. These are adequately strong and stable. Contrary to some other reviewers, I noticed no smell, I had no problems with the fittings or set screws, and had no significant instability problems. The stubby rear leg is not an issue: the stand is not going to fall over backwards. True, there is more possibility of falling forwards, but careful placement of the guitar body in the swiveling lower yoke will shift the weight and improve stability. It might make a difference what instrument you're using. Or, do what I plan to do and set these against a wall so nobody will hit them from the back.My only real complaint is that the legs do not lock positively into the deployed position, but tend to pop out of position. But when standing upright, the weight of the instrument plus the weight of the stand itself negates this issue. There are plenty of instrument stands out there with more features and much better protection. They also cost many times as much. These three are now at church, holding two guitars and a bass. They'll serve for years to come.
Can't beat it for the price
September 14, 2013
This stand was actually better than I was expecting. It works great for holding my guitar. The frame itself is made from good-quality metal, and the feet and back are angled well to hold the weight without tipping, sitting rather firmly. The neck cradle is cushioned with foam, as well as the prongs that hold the body of the guitar at the bottom. the neck cradle also has a rubber peice that you can hook across to help hold the guitar inside, in case it is bumped by someone walking by. the other aspect that I like is that the prongs at the bottom actually swivle a bit, to help adjust for different body styles. So it would be a decent stand for multiple body types, not just the basic ones. I can see this stand staying with me for a long time, and was well worth what I paid for it.

Bright display, easy to use, but fragile mount and eats batteries.
March 24, 2017
IMHO,these tuners are OK for a casual musician who is playing for fun and occasionally playing a gig. Not rugged enough for daily gigs or taking on the road. I own two and have had both break at the fragile ball joint. I do like the bright display and it's easy to use. I solved my problems by setting the joint where I wanted it and epoxying it in place. Buy extra CR2032 batteries also; these tuners use them up pretty quickly. I practice daily and have gigs every other week or so. A battery lasts me about 2 - 3 months.
Good for the price.
November 26, 2015
I have a couple of these tuners as well as others, both Snark and Deltalabs. They are decent but aren't quite as accurate as I like and I often end up fine tuning by ear. I'm not sure that any clip-on tuner will be dead-nuts accurate and I get better results with my Korg CA40, but the Korg is not a clip on and in some instances more difficult to us.I like all the little hash marks and this will get you in the ball park, so you have to use your ear as you use the tuner. I'd recommend it, particularly for someone who doesn't have any tuner at all. In my experience it works as well as some of the Snarks in the $20 range.
Does not measure flat?!
July 26, 2015
I purchased this tuner to use with my acoustic guitar. I like everything about it, save for two problems.1. Maybe I'm missing something, but this tuner does not appear to measure flat notes at all. It will show sharp with a #, but there doesn't seem to be an indication for flat. You wouldn't think this would matter, but there are some tunings which call for flats. Tuning a half-step down, for example, requires E,A,D,G,B,E to all be tuned flat. I managed to achieve this tuning with a capo on the 1st fret, and tuning to standard tuning, but I shouldn't have to carry a capo everywhere I go.2. The second time I clipped it onto the neck, one of the rubber feet fell off. There was only a tiny dot of glue under it. I used super glue generously, and that solved the problem.Overall this is a good on-the-go, and general tuner when using standard tunings. I just wish it would allow half-step tuning.
Works most of the time
February 12, 2015
Bought this for a bass guitar. Seems to work well 90% of the time. Then randomly while I'm getting it nearly perfectly tuned on, say, the E string, it will all of a sudden say it's B...like the little tuning bars stay the same but the letter will switch...and usually it goes back and forth a bit. So, a few times it hasn't switched back to the correct one...so I just tune another string correctly and then tune the strings from the one or two tuned strings. Overall, I think it's a little quirky and definitely has some weird glitch it seems. Most of the time it works fine and I can always get my bass in tune...but often with a little frustration in the process.
ITS OK BUT....
June 18, 2014
I ordered this primarily for my 5 string Ovation Bass. First, there is very little room on the head stock for it to clamp without hitting strings. My Ovation has a beveled end to the head stock but I was finally got it on the bottom between the D & G string tuners. It does not respond well to an open B, but octaves are fine and as long as I have confidence in my intonation it is no problem. I tested it against some of my more sensitive tuners and found it to be spot on. When I tried it on my Ibanz solid body 5-string I found it to be even less likely to "read" quickly or at all. Also worked great on my 6 strings.
Tuning your guitar made simple
December 19, 2013
This tuner is super easy to use and very user friendly. Clamp it on, press the power switch, and then pluck a string. It will tell you if you are hitting the right note and if it is in tune.I only gave this 3 stars because the battery meter only indicated 1/2 charge out of the box. It still had the plastic barrier that had to be removed to connect the battery. Shouldn't it have a full battery since it is brand new? Not enough of a hassle to send it back, but worth mentioning.Had the battery not been an issue, I would have rated this 5 stars.

great sound, moderate durabiiity
November 4, 2016
great sound, don't hold up to long hours of practice, this may be normal for celluloid picks , I just know the music room is littered with bits of them after a practice session. but they give the resident musician the sound he wants so i'll make sure he has a good supply on hand
Assorted colors *only*, not thickness
January 25, 2015
The picks are OK, but by "assorted" I assumed the picks would be assorted in thickness, not just color. My assumptions were wrong. All the picks in the bag are the same thickness, I'd have preferred to have assorted picks in thickness (you want a thinner pick for strumming vs a thicker pick for picking), but when I realized I had already opened the bag and it was too late.My recommendation is to find a different assortment of picks by thickness, unless you really want only one "size".

February 29, 2016
The capo I received is not a Kyser brand capo, as labeled. While it is silver and the same style of capo, it is not the one shown in the picture. However, the one I received does serve the purpose, it has a very good amount of tension so all of the strings are being capo'd where as my previous capo would only partially press down the low E string. So I'm not completely disappointed but I just wish I was sent the one I thought I was buying.
Used to be great
September 29, 2014
I have purchased around 5 or 6 Kyser capos and the previous 5 have been great. This last time the spring is so tight it bends my strings out of tune. I have left it open around a music stand for a few weeks and still waiting for the spring to weaken enough to use it. I hope this is an isolated occurrence and not a new trend. Once I get it weak enough I am sure it will work as great as my previous ones. Will update when I get another one.
Shubb capo is better, but the Kyser works okay
February 1, 2014
This capo is okay. Just okay. It's inexpensive. You can clamp it on the headstock when not in use. It goes on quickly and holds the strings firmly. A little too firmly, though. Tension is not adjustable, and I've noticed some of the strings sounding sharp when I put this on. I think this would be problematical in performance, for example if you had to stay in tune with the other instruments in the band.If your budget allows only one capo, buy a Shubb -- it is definitely worth the extra money. This one has its merits, but you still get what you pay for.
Nice, except for one flaw
April 18, 2012
Does an excellent job, the spring is just about right, and it's fairly quick to use. Only problem with this capo is the cheapy piece of plastic tape they use to protect the neck from the metal edge. And that's all it is: plastic tape. Very tacky. Your best bet when you get the thing is to peel that tape off and replace it with a strip of electrician's tape. At least you get a little padding from the rubber. Probably would have cost them all of a nickel to mold a piece of plastic on there or just continue the plastic from the portion that goes against the strings...but no.

Attractive but damaged PRIOR to shipping
December 14, 2016
What I expected to be a beautiful guitar is in fact very nice. Being wood grained, each one is very individual and I'm very pleased with the aesthetics. The action on my particular guitar was quite high and after about approximately 130-145° of screw adjustment it plays nicely. The only complaint I have is that the very top of the guitar had a pretty deep ding in it As well as a chip in the finish although the shipping carton was nearly pristine. Which to me implies that this particular guitar had poor handling and/or quality control BEFORE it was shipped.
Cracked upon arrival
April 13, 2016
One of the most beautiful guitars I've seen. Mine came with a gorgeous unique pattern in the wood grain. Unfortunately it came with a not-so-gorgeous crack in the wood and mother-of-pearl inlay on the base of the top. Will be returning, even though it breaks my heart because this guitar is stunning and has great sound

October 19, 2015
It looks beautiful, the sound is good, but you'll have to do some work on it right out of the box. Had I known it was made by Washburn i'd never have bought it. ( You can never play a Washburn out of the box) Anyway, I'm three days on getting the action right, if I can get it, I figure this might be a good, inexpensive acoustic.

Good stand, lousy security strap
August 19, 2017
This is a good stand. It supports my guitar very well & I like how it has the appropriate lean to keep the guitar upright & safe. I gave the guitar stand a 3 because the security strap is poorly designed. When secured, it does its job. However, it is difficult to release or the anchored side pops out of the tubing. It is a quick fix to pop it back in. It is just a regular occurrence & annoying.
Light duty stand
June 7, 2017
Works fine. Nothing special. Three stars because it doesn't WOW me. It's a basic guitar stand that is light duty.
Does the job, but the design is lacking
April 22, 2017
The assembly was easy, but I kept thinking that something was wrong because there's no way to securely fasten the top piece to the bottom. I found it odd, and then I realized it's just made that way. It makes me uncomfortable because it seems unstable, but the guitar is fine. One day, I made the mistake of grabbing the stand by the top and the fell apart. Luckily, my guitar wasn't on the stand.
Ok, but one little flaw
March 13, 2017
I like the design, but they are hard to close down to a small size for transport. For some reason the inside tube will not slide easily into the outer tube. Something is stopping it move past the screw, even with is unscrewed all the way. I travel with these a lot a really needed them to fold down smaller than they do. A little disappointed.

March 10, 2017
Seemed a little unstable when first put together but once I set my guitar in it, it held it just fine. The only thing that's kind of a drag is the strap that goes across the neck of the guitar pops off sometimes when you go to get the guitar out. But it's a great product for the price!
OK but didn't fit my daughter's Epiphone Pro
February 8, 2016
It seems like an ok product but for some reason it does not fit my daughter's Epiphone Pro-1 plus acoustic guitar that we bought here on Amazon - the bottom piece is too shallow and so the guitar leans forward and would fall out if not for the crosspiece at the top - that just doesn't seem like a safe thing and so we are returning it and looking for something else. I don't think that is an odd-sized guitar but somehow it doesn't fit. I looked at the customer photos and I don't know how they got the back bar angled backward to prevent the instrument from falling forward, I think that must have been user-modified.

Snark Used to be Great
September 6, 2017
Snark's quality has taken a dive since they first entered the market. I have a lot of guitars and therefore a lot of tuners. The last to Snarks I've bought have given me problems. I guess it's time to find a new brand.
Tuner mechanism ok, rubber feet on clamp not reliable and can damage your instrument
August 25, 2016
We bought a couple of these, and while the tuner itself works fine, the rubber feet that protects your instrument where you clamp it on fall off after a few months (it is held on by a dot of glue which I am guessing dries out). This happened to all of our Snark tuners. It is possible to reattach and re-glue the feet to the tuner, but if it isn't noticed immediately (like with my son's guitar), it can damage your instrument (ours suffered a minor chip) with the hard plastic contact clamping the wood. We are going to switch to a different brand.
much better. Of course
May 2, 2016
First of all, there is no point in buying this if you own a smartphone. A free tuner app will do the samer job much, much better. Of course, I didn't think of that before buying this.I tried using it to tune a violin. Even though I was producing plenty of volume that the tuner should have been picking up, it only rarely responded and displayed tuning info on the display. Seems like it's half deaf. Finally gave up on this thing and used an app instead, which I apparently should have done from the start.
So this tuner works great as a tuner
December 6, 2015
So this tuner works great as a tuner. It's a nice little thing and I love it. Why the 2 star review?Because Amazon is mixing together reviews of the entire snark series of tuners. I've seen reviewers mention the SN-1, the SN-2, the SN-5, and the SN-6. They all have different features!I was really excited about getting a tuner with a metronome, but the SN-5, which I purchased, has none. The top rated review on the amazon page for the SN-5 talks a lot about the metronome functionality, but the reviewer was actually reviewing an SN-1. Buyer Beware.
Budget price and budget quality
November 26, 2015
These are priced to get noticed. Happened to me after buying more expensive ones....Oh, about the durability ? Nah.....about 7-8 months either they don't register quickly, or register at all. I changed to new batteries, no difference on 4 different maple headstocks. Rubber foot fell off one. Going back to Intellitouch, I have 2 that are 6 and 7 years old that cost more but much more accurate and work PERIOD.
Snark FN-5 CANNOT change from A440-hz to anything else. Just a head's up for you techies out there.
April 13, 2015
I just received a Snark SN-5 I ordered here from Amazon.I know these tuners work well, however I was disappointed because this particular model does not allow to change the HZ, setting from standard A440 to anything else.(Most people won't need to ever change this setting. However I know many musicians I play live music with, that swear on A432 HZ.)Also there is no metronome on this FN-5.All this model has is an ON button. That's it. For most applications, that is enough. These tuners are amazing, as long as you don't break the head off the stem, which is easy to do.I'm myself am going to need to find another Snark model that has the ability to set the HZ.

Not good for angled picking
May 4, 2014
The price is great and the colors are awesome. However, if you pick at an angle then these probably aren't for you. When I played with these picks the edges ground away pretty quick. I had to change picks every few hours. Also these picks sound like they are scraping the strings. If you pick flat then these are fine. Though truthfully, I think angled picking is better.Just fyi I use ernie ball medium gauge strings and a schecter c1 plus so nothing out of the ordinary.

Disappointed by this capo
August 23, 2017
Disappointed by this capo. I lost my old capo during a move that I'd had for years and worked like a charm. This was meant to replace it and just a couple of months in, it's unusable. The bar that runs across the strings has become bent for no apparent reason. When it's not on the neck of my guitar, it lives on the headstock, so it hasn't been sat on or stepped on. Bent as it is, it's impossible to get a clean press across all strings, which renders it useless. Poorly constructed product, waste of money.
Very difficult to use
April 7, 2017
This is supposed to be quick change but it is very hard to open and close. There is no way we can comfortably use this. We are keeping it since we no longer have the package it came in but we went back to our old capo after a few days of trying to get use to this one.
GOOD CAPO but read review
March 22, 2017
These Kysers are OK but not really for acoustic so much. You must rely on a spring to made the decisions of how much tension is used. It's not the best science. I bought it for when I play songs and need to switch keys in the middle of the tune. I am a professional entertainer of stage so this a needed. For basic capo needs........ It's great.
Very tight springs
February 17, 2017
The spring tension is super tight so it makes my strings go out of tune, and it's non-adjustable. If you have a skinny neck guitar it probably works better. See my other capo reviews. I also have owned the Dunlop quick change capo and that was a better capo as far as function and playing in tune.
Squeezes far too tightly
January 27, 2016
I've used a lot of capos over the years, including Kyser capos. Generally, I consider Kyser an industry standard. That said, my most recent purchase from them is a death-grip product that easily sharps even medium-gauge acoustic guitars. I hope that it loosens up in time, but I'd need to seriously re-tune the guitar for anything above a second fret position. There will be no quick capo changes with this bad lad! I'd recommend an adjustable G7 capo over this one any day.
but it seems like a simple mechanism like this should last longer

Lacks Quality...
February 25, 2017
I purchased this guitar in August 2016. Initially, I was very pleased with the purchase. It's really beautiful but as they say its only skin deep.I replaced the synthetic nut and bridge with a bone and lowered the action some. I could not get the action where I wanted it because the frets from the 13th to the 20th are not level. I was contemplating leveling the frets but I don't think it will matter at this point. The top of the guitar has developed a split from one side to the other just below the bridge. I've attached photos, but the camera doesn't show how bad it really is.I've been playing guitar for 7-8 years now and this i my 4th acoustic purchase. I bought it to travel with because I worry I'll damage my Martin and Ibanez which I have a substantial investment in. If you cant afford a higher quality guitar I think you'd be safe buying this as a beginner guitar. Otherwise, I'm not recommending it. It's a shame really... It really is a beautiful guitar.
Blemished
February 1, 2017
Really nice guitar. Unfortunately when I receive a new guitar and it's got chips of finish missing from both the neck and headstock straight out of the box, it really makes me think twice about making another purpose.
Beautiful, but cracked.

I got a lemon

I must have gotten a bad one. Lots of fret noise down near the neck. Put a straight edge on it and several frets seem really high in different places. My guitar does not look nearly as good as the pictures I have seen. Doesn't really stay in tune for me, I thought it was the new strings stretching, but I have had this for about a year now they must be stretched by now. I do really like the sound of this guitar, but my quality is not great. I can't believe it has 5 stars from so many people, so I guess I got a lemon. Tried to get the bridge out to lower the action, but it almost seems to be glued in. I was afraid of breaking it trying to get it out. Also the string pins are very tight and hard to get out as well. One of the tuners feels a little sloppy. I also spent $159 for this and I see it is now $139. I don't know if I even want to throw any more money at it, but I will probably buy a fret leveling kit and see what happens. I did look down the neck several times and do see a slight curl near the nut. Will try adjusting the truss rod first, and then do some leveling. I just simply have never wanted to play this guitar from new, even though it does have a great sound.

Mistake on my part
August 30, 2017
I had purchased two of the stands prior to this purchase, the quality of this one seems inferior to the prior ones I would not recommend the stand it leans back to far The build quality is subpar look somewhere else get a better one.
A whole lotta meh. Average at best.
August 25, 2017
For the price, the are ok but if I had to do it over, I would get the On Stage heavy duty stands. They are definitely built better. When tightening down the neck holder of the lighter duty stands, the head goes askew to the base. The plastic band plugs that are supposed to help keep the guitar secure pull off easily. I pulled all mine off and put a little dab of super glue to keep them from popping off. You definitely get what you pay for! I would not gig with these for sure!
flimsey
May 7, 2017
For a few dollars more I could have gotten a much sturdier stand. Definitely, not what I would use for an expensive guitar. I am used to getting excellent items when sold by and through Amazon. Maybe store this one away, and buy a good sturdy stand.
Two design flaws cause instability
May 20, 2016
Two issues with this, either of which can lead to potential disaster. 1. The rear foot (the shortest one) is too short, making the stand too easy to tip backwards. I have another, similar stand, and it's engineered with a longer rear foot and is therefore much more stable. 2. The bottom brace is too wobbly, making it all too easy for a guitar not perfectly placed in the center (or not shaped perfectly round on the bottom--think Fender) to fall to one side under the weight of gravity. This almost happened to me with a very expensive stratocaster yesterday evening. I was lucky to catch the guitar in time. I would not recommend this product and will not buy another one.
Simple things not so simple
December 30, 2015
I got my first acoustic guitar for Christmas and was excited to get the stand to set it up in my home studio. However, when I got it, it was poorly manufactured. It seems simple enough for a manufacturer such as On Stage but the simplest things aren't so simple. The screw that holds the top arm in place and also allows it to slide if you loosen/tighten it was not properly molded or something so when you tighten it, it turns the top arm left. The more you tighten it the more it turns. This throws the whole guitar and thus the whole stand off making it no better than standing it up against the wall. I will be returning this and asking for a refund. Quite disappointed, not sure how it had such good reviews.UPDATE:Amazon Basics has a GREAT guitar stand for about $13. Very solid, very sturdy and low potential to break. Much better option.
Don't buy if you actually want a locking stand.
December 17, 2015
Stand is fine other than the completely useless "locking" mechanism which was my primary reason for purchasing. The top "U" has push-on plastic endcaps, with essentially a rubber band between them. When locked it's not too bad - but "unlocking" is pretty problematic. Since the plastic pieces just push on, the typically simply slide on when you are attempting to remove the "band" - only they are not supposed to and the plastic piece falls out of the band and rolls around on the flood. If you try what I did and use your thumb on the center of the plastic piece to stabilize it while removing the band the top of the plastic piece will fall off after a few times rendering the locking mechanism useless.

Defective unit, not allowed to return for some reason.
March 5, 2017
Received a non-functioning unit. Amazon.com won't allow a return/replacement, and I can't figure out why.
Buy the other models
January 28, 2017
Piece of crap. Doesnt allow you to adjust the tuning frequency or tune in flat tunings. The shell is made of crappy plastic instead of the soft matte plastic of the super snark or the other quality snarks. Save up another 10-15 dollars and buy the higher quality tuner. Just the better plastic is worth the price.
Didn't work for my String bass
June 30, 2016
String bass can be difficult to find accessories for sometimes. I saw Bass, and Violin and thought, "Gosh it has to work for my bass" Sometimes if you're in a noisy concert hall or something you have a tough time hearing yourself so I thought a clippy tuner thing would be great. Well...I think the thing still uses AOL dial up or something because many times it won't even read whatever string I"m playing. I tried clipping to the bridge and peg box to try and rule out "user error." Yeah I'm just going to stick to a 440 A and my ear like normal people. Save your money if you're a string bass player.
Not pleased with this at all
June 25, 2016
Not pleased with this at all. Bought it after reading the reviews but I would have been better off spending a bit more for better quality.
mega meh
November 20, 2015
This is my first tuner. Probably my last too if this one is representative of the breed. Not to brag but I can tune more accurately by ear and as fast or even faster. Honestly, if you can't do a better job than this POS you may be a bit tone deaf.
It's just a bad product
June 24, 2013
I have two issues with this product. First, I couldn't find a way to calibrate it. Maybe there is a way, but I haven't figured it out (and neither have any of my bandmates). Since one of my bands tunes to A442, this is a problem. And this tuner doesn't even seem to be calibrated correctly to A440! When my instrument is perfectly in tune according to this tuner, it's still out of tune with instruments that have been tuned using different tuners. The second problem is that one of the grippy foot pads fell off, and I can't get it to stay in place. As a result, the tuner doesn't stay firmly affixed to my instrument. That is more of a minor annoyance than a major problem, but it happened when I'd been using the tuner for maybe a month. I store it carefully and use it correctly, so this shouldn't be an issue at all. It's possible that my tuner is just defective, but I won't be ordering another one to find out.

Very thin and flexible making them so useless and disposable. Don't bother wasting your money on these they truly are not useable.

Picks "chipping away"... quality control issues?
June 29, 2014
I was very disappointed with the pack of "medium" picks I purchased. Perhaps it was a bad batch... the surface of the picks disintegrated as I used them (on day one!), leaving "pick dust" everywhere on the guitar. Even worse, the picks quickly acquired a "rough" surface on the tip, resulting in some inconsistency when picking. Glad I only bought a 10 pack!

Avoid this model
May 20, 2017
This Kyser doesn't open as wide as the earlier models. Would not fit my Yamaha fs830.
Too clunky. Gets in the way.
May 11, 2017
The massive handle is so big that you can't play chords that include any fret near the capo (which of course most of the basics). I put in on one of my guitars for about 30 seconds and then packed it up for a refund.
Too strong grip squeeze my guitar neck
September 9, 2016
It's too strong clipper squeeze my guitar neck so bad that I can feel it , not recommended
It's fine for playing solo
July 23, 2016
Not sure what happened. I've owned these before and found them reasonably functional, at least when considering convenience and cost. BUT this last one had a SOOOO MUCH spring tension that my 11 year old couldn't even use it. The compression on the strings was so extreme that it made the guitar (every guitar) play sharp. It's fine for pkaying solo, but you can't use it for a key change on one instrument and play with another properly tuned instrument (which is kind of the point). I'm also concerned about what it would do to frets after prolonged use. I pretty much limit it's purpose for repair and maintenance work when I need to make adjustments to something but don't want to restring the guitar.I recommend stearing clear from these entirely.

just like mine arrived
February 1, 2017
Before I purchased this guitar I read the comments and also saw the picture someone posted of damage to the head, just like mine arrived. I feel there must be some defective guitars being sent out because the damage is pretty much identical to the picture I saw and the shipping box was completely fine. But hey that's what you get for buying an instrument online I guess.

Neck snapped upon first tuning. Hopefully an anomaly. Will reorder and review.
Not impressed
February 16, 2016
I ordered this as a started guitar for my 12 year old boy. This would not have been my choice for purchase, but, after reading reviews, this is what he chose. He thought it looked cool and I wanted him to have the instrument that he wanted. Before I go into the details I should let you know I have been playing instruments from a young age, I have 20 years of experience with drums, guitars, and gigging. I would also like to note that the tags on the guitar claim that every guitar is QC checked and "player tested" prior to leaving the factory. I would question that claim, or say that the person that checked mine only played the low E before boxing it.The guitar was well packed, there was no shipping damage. It looked fine out of the box. However, upon tuning the guitar up frets 1 through 6 were dead on the high E string. B string had fret buzz. The nut appears defective, as there was chunks and dust present on it and the high E sting and B string were set too low in it. I let the guitar sit overnight so it had time to completely adjust to the new environment in (low) hopes it would correct itself with proper tension on the neck. No dice. I am returning it and have a very disappointed kid. I should not have to replace the nut or pay for a professional set up at a local shop to get this axe up and running. Cost for set up is not worth it on a $168 guitar, might as well return it and get something that is actually playable out of the gate.Had it not been for this unfortunate defect, this might be a good guitar for the price. Aside from the E and B string, action on the rest of the strings was good. The neck didn't look like it was twisted. Fit and finish were average. I did notice fine to minor scratches and scuffs. I didn't expect much in that regard considering the price. It had d'Addario strings on it already, which was nice and I consider a plus since I use those strings on my other acoustics. I thought the "spalted" maple looked cheesy but the kids thought it was cool.I checked the warranty. I'd have to pay freight shipping and insurance to send it to MS where it would probably be for weeks before I would get it back. Amazon made the return process easy. All I had to do was print a label and send it back.

At first i thought it was aright but then I stated to examine it more, and when I press my high e string on first fret its making a twinging sound because the string is rubbing on the second fret, fixable but im pretty pissed that it came this way and also only one button to put a guitar strap on it, so its alright for the price I guess...

Terrible, horrible, don't waste you time or money, these are JUNK
September 19, 2017
Of these 3, only one could be assembled from the parts provided. For the one I could put together, there is nothing secure about this product. Everything is loose, unbalanced, poor quality. The others couldn't be assembled because they arrived broken (poor quality plastic pegs that are supposed to hold the neck strap in place were broken off--no pieces in box which suggests these were broken prior to packing) as well as one neck strap was just not present. This falls into the category of "if it sounds too good to be true it probably is". I should have known better. Please learn from my mistake.

April 1, 2017
When I assembled this stand and found that the bottom "yoke" guitar rest swivels with NO LOCKING NUT at the back I knew I had bought a piece of crap! Are guitar stands supposed to swivel on the bottom rest? Who in their right mind would risk putting their prized instruments on this stand? Well under $15 bucks I should have know better!!
Very cheap, mine broke on the initial setup. Only buy this if you are looking for an excuse to call Amazon support for a return.
August 6, 2016
I opened the box, slid the top metal bar vertically down into the base, went to attach the tightening screw... it the hole was too big for the tightening screw to do anything. So, RIGHT OUT OF THE BOX, the thing was useless. I was so disappointed because I own a B.C. Rich Warlock that can only be hung from its headstock, making floor stands difficult to find. The product is made from cheap and hollow [what feels like] aluminum... reminiscent of the cheap lawn chairs from the 1970's trailer parks. The only good thing from this was Amazon's support and they took care of my problem the day it arrived with a refund -- since I definitely didn't want another one of these terrible stands.
Not Sturdy. The FretRest from Guitar Center is worth the extra $8.
May 24, 2016
I have a couple of FretRest guitar stands I bought from Guitar Center (HT1010). They're $8 more so I figured these were probably the same thing, probably from the same factory in China, just with a different label. Save $8 why not right? Nope. They probably used about one-third less material so that's where some of that $8 savings came from.I immediately noticed how much shorter the back/middle leg was compared to the FretRest stand. But then I thought, maybe the FR is just unnecessarily long and this short one might work fine. I put my guitar on it, and pushed it (while holding it) and compared the two, and this one definitely doesn't put up much resistance at all. With a little push the thing will fall right back. The FretRest will actually hold it even with 2-3 times the pressure. That's the biggest problem. But everywhere else you look, the rubber feet, way smaller, the rubber latch, smaller, even the metal tubing is about one-third smaller.I have some fairly nice guitars, but even if I just had a basic guitar I probably wouldn't try to save the $8 and put it on this stand. It might be fine, but I'd rather spend an extra $8 and get a stronger stand.Take a look at the attached photos. The "On Stage" one is on the left. The "FretRest" from Guitar Center is on the right in all the pictures. And no, I don't work for Guitar Center or even particularly like them, but the stand from them is better than this one.
