Easy to use
April 7, 2017
Easy to use, very adjustable height
Purchased as a gift
August 11, 2016
This was purchased as a gift for my niece who's main Christmas gift was a keyboard. The stand works perfectly with the keyboard it was purchased for, and it was well constructed for the price and use intended.
T'werks
January 29, 2016
It T'werks,...oh wait, Milly Cyrus twerks, This Werks! Okay had to say it....it does what it is designed to do, it keeps the keyboard from sitting on my granddaughter's knees. It's adjustable (she's a tiny little lady), and as she grows, it will keep her keyboard where she needs it to practice, practice, practice.... come to think of it, I'm babysitting with her tonight, is it too early for an 8 year old to learn "Inna-Gada-Da-Vida" on the organ?

September 23, 2015
This stand is great for home use as we have a Casio 76 key keyboard and it fits perfect on it. It is also very sturdy with no wobble. It is very easy to adjust the height and there are many height settings on it too. Even though the instructions are just a picture it was very easy to assemble. I don't understand why some people made it sound so difficult. I think I had the thing out of the box and put together in about 15 minutes. I guess the only hint I can give is to set the feet next to the braces to make sure you have the holes for the screws lined up before putting anything together. Overall, a great product for a good price and it's nice that it's a Prime item too.
Gearlux keyboard stand well worth the money

Stand is very sturdy and easy to assemble with the allen wrench provided.the rubber on the on all of the 4 ends grip the floor and keyboard wellthe scissor release in the center is a handle and not a pin which I like betteroverall it is an excellent stand
Excellent
July 26, 2013
Got the stand quickly, and it was much higher quality than expected. It was only $1 with free shipping, so I was expecting a cheap aluminum piece of crap. I would have been fine with it; it's only holding up a MIDI controller. But this thing is thick, sturdy, and easily worth $30+.

And again, another great product from Amazon. Easy to assemble, and cheap price. :)
Happy with it so far
March 30, 2016
Just assembled it and it'll work well for what I need it to do. It was easy to assemble and would have been even faster except my clumsy fingers kept dropping the tiny L wrench. Feels sturdy enough that I'm not scared my to put my numark on it.
A little tall but solid
February 22, 2016
What can I say? It's a keyboard stand. It works. It's very stable and extremely sturdy. Structurally sound and great quality for the finish. The stand is adjustable for seated use or stand up use if you need. I use this on a 61 key MIDI controller. Should work well with a 49 key keyboard in the seated position which would move the left and right support tubes to their widest positions. It is a little high if you are used to playing at seated piano position, but I use this to position my controller next to my DAW workstation and only use it for composition and patch work. If you do stand up stage work, you'll love the higher adjustments. Under $30... can't beat it.
3 years later.
November 17, 2014
Bought this almost 3 years ago and I'm finally getting around to writing a review! It's a pretty good stand. It holds my 76 key keyboard without problem. Easy to assemble, relatively lightweight, and a lot of options for height. It's put up with a lot of abuse over the past few years and it hasn't really shown on the stand. Still holds it's position great. I did have to tighten the bolts about a year ago but that's not a big deal at all.My keyboard doesn't rest completely flat on it which causes a bit of a wobble when I play but that's nothing a piece of cardboard can't fix. I suspect that it's a problem with my keyboard and not the stand, obviously.

Inexpensive but light duty
August 13, 2017
Light duty stand that is perfect for the practice room/studio, but I don't think I'd use it for touring, and would not trust it to hold a larger board like my Motif xs. Having said that, the price was very attractive, and it is definitely worth what I paid.
Good quality, sturdy.
October 3, 2015
It is very sturdy and very well packed. However after putting our Yamaha YPG 235 on, we had to put a pad under the keyboard on the side as it was not balanced.
Works but test fit before final assembly.
May 22, 2015
I agree with other reviewers - this isn't a straightforward assembly. However, it does go together eventually. I suggest dry-fitting things (don't screw in all the way) first to ensure that you have everything lined-up. While I can't see how it made a big difference, my stand came "completely folded down" and I had to fold it in the "up" position before everything lined up. Before this, the arms that held the keyboard were significantly off with respect to one another.
Sturdy, adjustable, difficult to assemble
April 23, 2015
Sturdy, adjustable, no problems, and my 61-key Yamaha is resting securely on it right now.Though it is fairly intuitive to put together, its nightmarishly complicated. I am wondering why there aren't more negative reviews saying that they could not get it together. Buy this one only if you are very mechanically oriented or have a friend who is,otherwise it will remain a box full of disparate parts.I had to get out the super wrench-grip pliers at one point, but probably had it assembled in less than fifteen minutes, and then readjusted and re-tightened everything before deciding which keyboard to put on it.CAUTION: DO NOT try to adjust the height when the keyboard is resting on it, as the slightest loosening of that main bolt puts the legs in free-fall![Disclaimer: I have assembled two metal tables, two metal chairs, five bicycles, and adjusted seven bicycles in the last two years, and was trained as an apprentice carpenter in my youth.]
Very good with two small issues
December 19, 2014
This is an excellent sturdy stand that collapses quickly and offers plenty of support. Two issues I have with the stand are: the assembly was somewhat difficult and the rubber caps occasionally fall off. Assembly fairly straightforward in theory, but a couple pieces didn’t quite fit together, and took some nudging with a hammer. The caps falling off is a minor gripe I could fix with some glue, but worth noting! All around very good product.
Good for Stage Performances
November 28, 2013
The stand is solid. The rubber grips on the ends don't get too much traction, but it is enough to play on. I was going to use this stand for home but it's too tall, so I put it on it's side to accommodate. This would be good for those that intend to use this while standing on a stage though.

Reasonably sturdy, but...
November 16, 2015
One of the 8 holes for mounting the legs was improperly tapped; I almost stripped one of the screws trying to get it to go. Luckily, I had a couple of self-tapping screws with the same thread (but much shorter) in a junk drawer, which I "sacrificed" to open up the threads so that the actual screw would go in and snug up. Glad I didn't have to send it back for that. The height adjustment seems to be biased towards a standing player; it is too high for a seated player unless you have a cushion added to your chair, or an adjustable stool. My Casio CTK-400 keyboard (plastic structure) would not sit flat on this stand; I had to remove one of the rubber "bumpers" under the right front to get the keyboard steady. For the price, It'll do.
It works, however...
November 11, 2015
With my Casio Privia PX160, it is too high when it is assembled according to the instructions. I just started learning piano and even at the lowest setting it was very uncomfortable. As someone mentioned above, if you rotate it 90 degrees and swap two of the rods, it can be adjusted to the perfect height. It's strange that it works out this way but it does indeed fix the issue. I wouldn't use it like that professionally, of course.
Sturdy, easy to assemble
July 28, 2015
Sturdy, easy to assemble, easy to adjust heightsFeet feel too deep. While that makes things sturdy and balanced, I wish I could push this closer to the wall. Right now it feels like there's a good outstretched-hand's-width between my keyboard and the wall, but the feet of the stand are backed all the way up to the wall. I can't push the keyboard back any further because the bars on top are much shorter than the feet. Not an issue if you have a lot of space, but for me, I really wish I had that extra 6-8 inches (heh)
Worth the work of having to build it.
April 12, 2014
I am a singer in a band and have to play the piano in a few songs. This stand is great for standing in front of and staying in the upright position. My other stand I have has a pin that you pull in order to adjust the height which makes it easy. The Casio ARDX stand requires unscrewing a knob a pain if you are used to the other way. It fits a Roland X6 perfectly. It is a little complicated to put it together. The pieces aren't well labeled, but the pictures make it easy-ish. It only took 10 minutes, though I had to undo a few mis-alignments at the beginning.
Sturdy stand but swap feet if you want to sit!
February 24, 2014
IF YOU PLAN TO SIT, ASSEMBLE THE FEET ACCORDINGLY! Many people have said the stand is too tall, since it's meant to use playing standing up. However if you swap out the feet properly, you can adjust it to the right height.I did not receive the same one as the photo, I received one that has a cross bar with a bolt that's adjusts the height. KEEP IN MIND THAT IF YOU RECEIVE THIS ONE, YOU MUST ADD AN ADDITIONAL NUT AND BOLT TO THE CROSSBAR SO IT DOESNT BUCKLE!
Sturdy Stand
January 1, 2014
I assembled it per instructions and like others have stated it was too tall, especially for my 4' 10" wife. I took giga's advice and rotated it 90 degrees and problem solved. When you rotate the stand one of the longer horizontal pieces that belongs on the bottom will be on the top but you can switch it since it will bolt up to either end. The height adjustment will be on one side, vertical and work in reverse. You have to be careful because if the adjustment bolt becomes loose the linkage could jackknife and dump your keyboard. I took care of that problem by installing a 2nd bolt in the linkage. The stand was almost too wide for the 61 key keyboard by the time I lowered it enough but it works.

January 9, 2017
Everything arrived well packed and in a timely manner, all parts in the box, but the directions were so poor I had trouble putting it together and probably spent way more time messing it up than needed. But it works fine after I figured it out myself, NO HELP from the directions. Be wary. I guess you get what ya pay for, tightwads (like me)!
Other then that this has been a great stand
May 19, 2016
This is a greasy and however I bought it for my 10 year olds keyboard and the lever that raises it up and down is rather large and my daughter has caught it a couple times with her knee or she has rested her foot on it which she knows she not allowed to do and the lever comes open and the keyboard falls down! Wish the lever was somewhat hidden and not as large as it was! Other then that this has been a great stand
Height adjustment not perfect
February 22, 2016
The stand has many height settings, but they are all a couple inches apart. I would have probably preferred a smaller range of settings with finer adjustment. It is quick to adjust, but difficult to tell where you had it set because there are no markings on the adjustment gear. You could add those yourself with some whiteout or score it with a knife or tool, but it would have been nice if it already had some reference marks.
A Middle of The Road Stand-- Some Assembly Required
November 19, 2015
This is the only keyboard stand I've ever had to assemble, and it came with only pictorial instructions. After trying to figure out the right assembly, which I eventually did after 20 minutes, I gave it the "lean test" (where you lean gently on the stand to make sure it won't break) and it did give slightly. I would suggest only putting lightweight keyboards on this. I'm sure it has to do with the fact I had to assemble it with a hand hex, whereas if the factory assembled these for you they'd be much stronger. The grip part in the middle is nice, it uses teeth to lock (maybe called a gear lock?). However, it uses a spring, which has always been the downfall of all my keyboard stands, save my Hercules brand.I was looking for a solution to my stage keyboard (maybe 30 lbs), and this seems to be it, I would never put my Motif workstation on this thing though. This would be great for a child's keyboard, or a dorm room keyboard. Even when it holds my stage keyboard it's still a bit rickety.
Missing parts, and not super sturdy.
February 3, 2015
Box came with missing screws. I found a screw in my tool box that works, but one screw hole i couldn't replace. Not sure how this got out of the factory without all of its parts. Also, one of the little rubbers on the legs keeps coming off. Guess i can't be too picky; it works okay for its intended purpose. But definitely not show, stage, or traveling quality, It'll probably not hold up very well to constant moving. Works okay to put a kid's keyboard on though. I might not let my nice Kurtzweil sit on this for much longer. It's a bit wobbly and makes me too nervous when someone walks by and bumps the keyboard. That thing cost too much for such a cheap stand. Not sure what I'll do with the stand after. It's an okay product, just not quite what I was looking for.
Good buy for the price
September 1, 2014
Comes with a pictures for you to figure out assembly. IKEA instructions are better than this one. But I figured it out and it seems to work fine. My only issue is that the handle that adjusts the size is easy to accidentally knock open, which could cause a real disaster if I hit it with my knee while I was playing the keyboard or something. I tied it closed with a piece of rope for my own peace of mind. I like that it is fully and easily adjustable for just about any height though, and it came with a little Allen wrench to assemble so I didn't need to dig out a screwdriver. For the price, it works great so far. If this wasn't a replacement for a very expensive stand that was lost in a move, I probably would have bought a better-quality stand, but this is probably one of the better "cheap" ones.

Not as adjustable as I had hoped
May 27, 2017
I thought this stand was much more adjustable than it truly is. This stand is made for someone who is performing standing. I had purchased it for my son to practice on his keyboard while sitting, which he could not due. We kept it because I didn't have an alternate solution at the time. It works for its intended purpose, but not ours. I just wish it could be adjustable to much lower heights.
Turn sideways for less height!
April 18, 2017
I've been using this stand for around a year so far. This stand is way too tall if you use it as pictured. I decided to rotate it 90° so the adjustment bar is vertical, putting it at a much better height. There is a small bit of give, but its been holding my Casio PX160 bk just fine.
Got a little less that what I paid for
August 28, 2015
Package arrived busted open. No extra packing material or tape was used to ship it. I came straight off of the shelf. Powder coating on the legs is uneven and sloppy at the ends. Will have to apply some sealant or paint to prevent corrosion. If it was for any other use than my daughter learning to play piano/keyboard here at the house I would return it. But for the price and the hassle of taking it apart and shipping it back and waiting for a replacement, it just isn't worth my time. Really a shame such a good company as Casio would allow there name to go on such a mediocre at best product.
Doesn't work well if you want to sit down and play..
June 21, 2014
I bought this for my studio and was really disappointed to find that I couldn't get the keyboard low enough to play comfortably when sitting on a piano bench. I had to go to the hardware store and make my own extension for the thing that adjusts. This is probably great for someone who stands up when they play or are at a gig standing up.. but this is not good for practicing while sitting down.
Convenient But Broke After 16 Months
March 9, 2014
We purchased this stand to have a portable stand for local small gigs. It is convenient to set up and fairly cheap, but one of the permanent joints (screws) broke and came out of the frame after only about 16 months. So now we have to get a new one, because it's not really fixable. It's not expensive, but it's inconvenient, and you shouldn't have to worry about this kind of thing after such a short amount of time. We also treated it very well and carefully. No throwing around or anything.
Does the job, but is a tad too tall.
October 25, 2011
After reading the reviews I took a chance, since my keyboard is CASIO and heavy I thought it best to buy their stand. The stand is great as far as supporting the weight, BUT it is too tall. I am in search of a bar stool and that is on the stands lowest level---hard to play when your elbows are too high. The manufacturer box--not amazon's box--was also mangled as though the product had been returned and then sent to me, evidenced by the retaping of the box and the scratch on the leg. I have considered sending it back, but the price makes it feel worthy as it serves its purpose.

February 13, 2015
So I just got this stand for my keyboard. One of the frustrations is that it comes unbuilt. Honestly, the instructions are very unclear and it was quite frustrating to put together. I got it together, and it seems fairly sturdy, but my Yamaha P-105 is quite heavy and ends up wobbling a bit. I think it should be fine for a lighter keyboard, but not very good for a fairly heavy keyboard. I'm thinking about picking up a better one and selling this one to one of my students, who has a light keyboard. You get what you pay for. This should honestly be good for most keyboard, just not mine. I wish it came with instructions, that's the biggest knock on it
Pain in the ass to put together

You give a gift for the recipient to enjoy. She can't enjoy it until she calls her neighbors to assemble it. I'm sure she resents me everyday it sits there unassembled. Worst. Son. Ever.
Mine Wobbles Something Fierce
December 20, 2014
After reading all the great reviews I ordered this and am actually quite disappointed. It looks nice and all for the price, but it is so lopsided that I have to prop one corner of my board up with 2 rubber washers. I'm no engineer, and it's not very secure, so therefore I also have to have it backed up to a wall. For me, a non professional, it gets the job done, bit just barely.
You get what you pay for
December 2, 2013
When I try and fold it the whole thing just comes apart sometimes, because of this I just leave it alone. Not too disappointed because it was cheap and it does the trick but if you're looking for something that's durable this is not a good choice.

July 25, 2016
Have to say something. This stand really confused me when I put my keyboard (Casio Privia BK160) on it - my keyboard slides! After several days, the back of my keyboard was scratched, and I can't play with much strength since I'm afraid of the keyboard falling down.
Oddball stand
May 6, 2016
I want to start out by addressing a major factor in stand selection before continuing with the review. My acoustic piano, the top of the white keys measures at 28.5 inches from the ground, and from reading, most pianos range from around 28 to 30 inches in height. So keep this in mind when picking out a keyboard stand. This one starts at 28 inches, as another reviewer noted, unless you jerry rig it or at least assemble it without following the instructions. And unless you have a really short keyboard, you're already going to start with this being pretty tall off the ground. However, this is really a problem with X stands more than anything, you really sacrifice usability for ease of setup and teardown with an X stand. Now on to the review:I've found this to be a rather oddball stand. I use this with a Casio Privia PX-5s, and after several months of using it, I've come to several conclusions.1. The stand is both too tall at its shortest setting for playing when sitting, and too short at its tallest setting when standing. I do think most X stands have the problem of being too tall for sitting, but most can adjust to an acceptable standing height, while this one, not so much. You can jerry-rig it as others have commented and shown workarounds, so if you already own it, well at least there's that. But if you're looking for a stand to buy, take heed here. I have several piano benches, and none of them are tall enough. I do have a drum throne that could work, but it puts me at an unnatural height when compared to sitting at my acoustic piano.2. For some reason, whoever designed this decided to flute the tubing. This is entirely non-standard for any other stand manufacturer, and it means you can't add a second tier or other accessories like a microphone attachment, that fit into standard tubing.3. The more I move it around, taking it from rehearsals to jam sessions or to just play out, all the bolts work themselves loose within a day or two, regardless of what amounting of tightening I do. As another indication of stability concerns, I stuck my 75 lb stage piano on it, and it made me extremely nervous, as parts shift around under load way more than you would expect. So I don't use this stand with any keyboard of any meaningful weight.4. You're very likely to mar the heck out of the bottom of your keyboard. The flimsy, yet strangely hard plastic tubes that are supposed to protect the keyboard from the stand don't actually grip your keyboard in any meaningful way, so your keyboard slides around a good bit. Definitely by comparison to other keyboard stands I've used that use rubber to protect the bottom of your keyboard and to grip it from sliding, I just don't get why Casio went this route.I really can't recommend this stand. There are just way too many strange quirks.
I'm 5'3", and it does not set low enough to play the keyboard comfortably.
February 8, 2016
I'm 5'3", and it does not set low enough to play the keyboard comfortably. In order to play comfortably, I need to use a stool that's so tall that my feel don't reach the ground and hence cannot pedal properly.
Stand Delivered Not Same as the Stand Pictured on Amazon
March 5, 2013
The stand is not the same stand pictured on Amazon. The one Amazon shipped to me has a different adjustment mechanism than the one Amazon advertise. The height adjustment is not suitable as it will not adjust low enough for playing while seated. A very tall person would probably not have a problem, but average height people would probably find it uncomfortable unless they play it standing up. Also the rubber feet-tips to protect against scratching wood floor finishes are very hard and would scratch the floor. They appear to be made of a hard rubberized plastic product.......Very Cheap. Rubber feet-tips should also keep the keyboard from moving around, but they're not functional for that task either. Overall I'm pretty disappointed in the quality from Casio and the misleading advertising by Amazon.
Stand affects quality of your play
January 9, 2012
WAY TOO TALL, I'm a tad over 6', and I've got to sit on a couple of folded towels and books in order for my wrists to be at key level. I used it with the Casio Privia 130, which is a bit thick for a keyboard, but sitting in such an awkward position makes is difficult to play pieces effectively and translate practice to an actual piano. Coming from 13 years of piano experience, if you have a piano with any sort of thickness to it, I would not recommend this stand.

Wanted this for an event.Received it with all screws missing.Disgusting...Had to take all the pain to return at local UPS store.
Only appropriate for the French Military.
March 9, 2015
Assembling this stand reminded me of the Chauchat, a French rifle issued to allied troops in World War II, as the parts were manufactured to poor tolerances, at least one hole was drilled incorrectly and then poorly corrected, causing the horizontal support rods to come together awkwardly. The stand rocked and was highly unstable until I applied professional tools to reshape the stand to compensate for the crooked position. The slots for the square nuts required alteration to the metal bracers as well. I had to apply tin snips to enlarge the slots enough to fit the nut in. The instructions were illegible, containing on one illustration that was far too small to identify parts and their orientation. After several hours of exhausting work, I did manage to get the thing together enough to support my digital piano, but I will be replacing this with a more reliable brand before it fails completely. I suspect I might be able to salvage these parts to build a still for brewing.I do not recommend this item, as you will have to purchase another stand and no one wants to buy twice!
Complete junkola and misrepresented item
December 30, 2014
Assembly MIGHT seem straightforward--screws go through the holes into the frame--but there must be 50-100 iterations of how the different pieces can be placed in relation to each other and I can find no way of putting this together that it doesn't wobble ridiculously. Furthermore, the picture shows plastic reinforcement pieces where the x-bars meet the crossbars (pieces in contact with the floor and keyboard) and there are none. The piece that controls the height (at the center of the X) is also different from shown. Furthermore, what I got does not have a Gearlux sticker but a "Hamilton Series ProStand" sticker. Perhaps that means I'm reviewing the wrong product but Gearlux is what I ordered and "ProStand is what arrived.

The height of the stand is disgusting!
July 29, 2017
This stand is not designed for someone who wants to sit on a bench and a play the piano. The height is not standard at all and you clearly realize that your hands are in wrong position. Not recommended for anyone. find something better as I'm looking for something more adjustable suitable for a pianist.
Missing hardware. Replacement too flimsy for keyboard
June 6, 2017
Received item in really neat up box covered in packing tape. The hardware, tool, and instructions were missing. Returned it and received a replacement. This stand is held up by one bolt and is not very sturdy. The keyboard slides very easily on the top. So if you accidentally brush by the keyboard, it could very easily fall off. I did not feel comfortable keeping my expensive keyboard on this stand. Returned replacement. Now I've finally been issued a "refund" for the first item. But it's minus a restocking fee and it's Amazon credit, not a debit refund. Why am I getting credit and paying a restocking fee for an item that didn't have the tool, hardware, and instructions? Very disappointed.

Only buy this stand if your name is Andre the Giant
February 19, 2016
Dear Casio: Why do you continue to torment musicians after years of complaints about this "fully adjustable to different heights" keyboard stand, that is in reality only "fully adjustable" to heights in between Andre the Giant and Lebron James? Please either clearly market this as a keyboard stand for standing only, or extend the adjustable bar to have more holes so that it can come down a few inches. Seriously, this shouldn't be that complicated. You are basically making a product that the vast majority of keyboard players can't use, not without some creative 'hacking', turning it 90 degrees, buying extra hardware, etc. I've been a loyal Casio keyboard player for over 15 years, and never had a problem with a stand's height until you sent me this clunker with my new Privia, no doubt designed for a T-rex (since even tall guys are complaining). Anyway, hopefully the next 100 bad reviews about the height won't fall on (tone)deaf ears over there at Casio. Thanks! :)
After 5 minutes, the cheap bolt snapped and my Nord fell to the ground. Garbage stand. AVOID
December 19, 2015
I assembled the stand, and placed my Nord keyboard on it. Done, or so I thought. Played a bit, and went into another room. CRASH! Keyboard on floor and stand undone. One of the cheap flimsy bolts snapped. This is a poorly designed stand, made of cheap materials. I have been playing synths and using keyboard stands since 1985 and this is one of the worst I've seen. Seriously, how can manufactures mess up something as simple as a keyboard stand? Maybe I got a defective product, I can't say for sure. But I am certain there are MUCH better stands available. Save yourself the pain of having your instrument damaged (like mine is) and avoid this piece of crap stand.
Different from the picture
January 18, 2012
The casio stand I recieved was different from the picture, which I didn't like. Therefore, I returned it. It had a bar in upper side which connects the legs. I used to have this style stand from the packge at Costco. It was a very cheap one and a x- style stand, so it didn't last long. Of course, the one I have gotten was different, because it was double x bim. Anyway, I did not like my experience. So, I did not want to keep this one. At least, product picture on Amazon site should be the same one what you will recieve.
