Five Star Reviews: | 31% Steady Excellent Pump July 15, 2017 Excellent portable air pump very lightweight and sturdy, pumped up my Velomobile tires to 96 PSI in less than 2 minutes. Will buy again yes! Worked as it should December 13, 2016 I had this for almost a year before I needed to use it but when I did, it worked just as it needed to. It pumped up an almost flat tire which allowed me to drive to the tire store and have the flat fixed. No tow truck required! Very happy with it. It is slow to air up a vehicle tire but better than nothing when you are not close to home ... November 11, 2016 Bought to leave in my Jeep. It is slow to air up a vehicle tire but better than nothing when you are not close to home or town. Great Pump! July 18, 2016 This pump is fast when I leave my car running while pumping up my tires. I went from 30 lb to 50 lb in 10 seconds. The air hose for this thing is a little short for a huge tire, but it is OK for my 17" tires. It comes with various tips for pumping up other items besides tires, which will be a benefit to people with other needs other than being sick of having to pay money for air. I will be buying this pump as a Christmas item for my friends as it is really handy to have. Good compressor, as described May 6, 2016 works pretty good for what it is, though the guage is a bit off. (I don't think I have ever seen one that is correct on these inexpensive compressors). Note, it will take plenty of time to fill your tires with this. It is good mainly for emergencies, and can only run for about 10 minutes at a time, before cooling for 30 minutes. Letting it overheat will kill it quickly. Usually on my 225-75 15s, it takes about two runs to get a tire from 15 pounds up to 40 pounds. Start your vehicle between runs to let it charge the battery back up! (Should not be used while running.) Perfect size for the cargo area in our ATV June 7, 2015 Perfect size for the cargo area in our ATV. Haven't had to use it yet, and hopefully will not have an unexpected flat tire while riding trails in the wilds of Idaho, but it is comforting to know that I have this air compressor, tire sealant and plugs just in case! | 52% So far so good. I used it once and it worked perfectly. September 7, 2017 So far so good. I used it once and it worked perfectly. It's loud and slow, but I have had these small low-power air compressors before, so I knew what to expect. I'm guessing it can't be that small and light and be very powerful, so I think it's a good value. My tire was low (under 20 psi) and filled it up to 35 psi. I didn't time it, but seemed to only take 3-4 minutes. Well worth the money! August 16, 2017 I wasn't expecting much for the price, I was, and have been pleasantly surprised. My "old" air compressor finally laid down and died. It was like this one, or at least similar in size, but that's where the similarity began, and ended. This new "pump" is way faster and better. we really like it. We (my wife and I) ride bikes that require frequent "airing up". This pump make short work of doing that! Loud but effective June 29, 2017 This bad boy filled up my completely flat tire in 10-15 minutes. I think I'll keep one of these in my car from now on. The only downside is that it is very loud. You probably don't want to run this in a small neighborhood late at night, or else you might get some complaints. I would recommend to have a tire pressure gauge with you because ... January 12, 2016 It's a little loud, but not blaring loud. It does take a little while to get to the right pressure. I would recommend to have a tire pressure gauge with you because the dial on the air compressor itself only gives you an idea of what the PSI. Also I was a little concerned at first that the cable to plug into the lighter wouldn't be long enough, but it was fine. You just have to keep your car door open, which in the winter isn't too fun. Overall though, I'm glad I have it and it gives me a little piece of mind if my tire pressure gets low. Great Product for a Economical price!! November 14, 2015 came in three days!! Handy, compact piece that worked wonderfully for two Big foot Toyota trucks as well as the smaller BMW tires. I have had a number of compressors,... they grow legs with sons and moving, friends borrowing and not returning... and so this is probably my 10th one. I was pleasantly surprised it worked better, at 300psi than my boyfriends 2x bigger and heavier sized compressor that could not get the tires past 20psi,...The cord is long enough to cross over from the driver side around to the front passenger tire,...on a small car. Connector to stem of tire was easily secured, and so I recommend this for anyone to keep handy in the trunk with a can of fix a flat, or Slime!! Sure beats doing the whole nine yards of a tire change in the middle of a highway, middle fare way, or no where!! Excellent Value for Tire Maintenance October 11, 2013 This is a handy, compact air compressor for inflating auto and bike tires, balls, air mattresses, etc. I bought it because I did not want to pay $1 every time I wanted to adjust the tire pressures on my Odyssey. (I also discovered that my regular garage's normal in-line air gauge was 5 psi off, and when I asked them to fill the tires to the recommended cold pressure of 35 psi, they actually took air OUT leaving me with a constant and annoying "low pressure" warning in the dashboard readout.) Checking the pressure with my own independent gauge later confirmed that my automobile's sensor was correct, so I ordered this unit to avoid having to stop somewhere just to add air when I needed it mid-trip, and to avoid this kind of inflating error. It is a small, compact unit that fits in the storage carousel of the minivan, a nice plus for traveling.I have not used it to fill up a completely flat tire, just to precisely adjust low pressures (from 30 to 35 psi, e.g.). It accomplished this, for all four tires, in only a couple of minutes per tire.Small air compressors like this ARE noisy, in fact, most air compressors are noisy. This one is no noisier than my previous ones (which I gave, in sequence, to my kids for their cars). That being said, you don't want to use this outside a hospital or under a bedroom window where someone is sleeping...for very long! The gauge is about 3/4 of a circle, and in that space are markings from 0 to 300. This results in a dial with marks every 5 psi about 1/8" apart. It is fairly accurate, but like all gauges like this, is hard to read precisely. Mine registered what I read as "38" when it had inflated the tire to 36 psi. One would be wise to get a good quality, accurate, independent gauge to keep in the glove compartment. Also, once this thing got going, it seemed to really start packing in the pressure. If you are inflating bike tires, do not walk away from this unit, because I suspect it will easily handle a touring bike's 80-lb psi limit fairly quickly. Automobile tires, being much larger, will naturally take a lot longer to inflate to a danger point.I thought the inflation times for my uses were reasonable, the gauge was reasonably precise, and the noise about what I expected. It seems to me to be an excellent value for the price. | 0% There are no reviews yet | 0% There are no reviews yet | 0% There are no reviews yet |
Four Star Reviews: | 17% Not bad..... June 23, 2017 Takes quite a while to fill a low car tire, but that goes with a small compressor like this. Built-in gauge is a plus. Overall, happy with this product at this price. Works well, very compact April 13, 2017 Works really well. Use it for emergencies and to pump up the tires on my manual wheelchair. Noisy but very handy. It is very compact and easily fits under the seat Small and gets the job done December 9, 2015 Great to leave in car because it's small. Had a flat tire and was able to pump up my tire and get to the tire shop the next day. Great for emergencies, would deff recommend for everyone to leave in the trunk of their car A lot better than manual pumping. Inflates car tires, but it takes several minutes, and makes quite the racket. Useful gadget. November 6, 2015 Works a heck of a lot better than manual pumping of a bike tire. It will inflate a car tire, though it will take several minutes, and it makes quite the racket, and the vibration makes it move around on the floor. Still, quite a useful little gadget to have around to pump things up. | 22% Good thing to have in your car for emergencies July 20, 2017 Good thing to have in your car for emergencies. I recommend having a good tire gage in addition. I just used it for the first time today after carrying it for 4 months. It was very slow to get the tire in a minivan up to the recommended 35 psi (over 15 minutes). The instructions say not to run it too long or it will overheat. It was a hot day and in the sun so I let it cool for 5 minutes after 10 minutes of operation. Also because the scale is for 300 psì, it's difficult to tell when it is exactly 35 psi. I also keep a tubless tire patching kit in the car. (the 2 piece kind with a reamer and plug inserter) Saved me once so far. It's a very slow ... July 18, 2017 Saved me once so far. It's a very slow inflation but it works and will absolutely save you in an emergency. I would not use this regularly and expect it to last. There are definitely pumps that inflate faster but expect to pay a lot more. Solid compressor with accurate gauge. May 23, 2017 Solid compressor with accurate gauge. It's not 100% on the nose, but within a few pounds of pressure. Takes care of bike tires in seconds, cars a couple of minutes. Just be prepared for the noise. This is a decent little air pump for $17.54. January 8, 2017 This is a decent little air pump for $17.54. Yes, it's a bit noisy, and vibrates, but it costs $17.54. It was able to increase the pressure in my Jetta tires from about 20 PSI to 35 PSI in about five minutes per tire. Between tires, I did something else while the pump cooled. That is fine.My only complaint is the ridiculous "300 PSI" rating. Because of this, the part of the pressure gauge from 20 PSI to 35 PSI is very small. Seriously people, the Space Shuttle tires are inflated to about 300 PSI, and it is unlikely that this pump would be used for that. How about a more reasonable rating of 80 PSI, so we can easily see the markings on the pressure gauge? Nice to have December 15, 2016 As others have noted, it's very noisy, but that's no surprise. I also don't think the gauge is all that accurate, but that may be partly a result of its reading so high -- I find that my nicer gauge reads 30psi when the compressor's gauge reads around 40psi, but after figuring that out I just wait until the gauge says about 40 before I stop it to check, no big deal. Cord is plenty long enough for me to comfortable reach all four tires from the front console of my sedan, didn't measure it but 10' seems accurate. The little compartment allows you to roll up and store the cables when you're finished, making it neat and compact to store in the trunk or wherever. Good but with one major flaw February 24, 2016 I really like that this compressor will lie flat on the ground. My old one sat on its side so it would vibrate and fall over. The biggest drawback is that the connecting cord is too short to reach the top of larger car tires. With performance tires on a Charger, if the valve happens to be at the top of the tire then you must hold the compressor in the air to attach and fill it. It is also noisy, but I expect that from all small compressors. For the price, I think this is a good choice. | 0% There are no reviews yet | 0% There are no reviews yet | 0% There are no reviews yet |
Three Star Reviews: | 8% Does the job. Small, short end of cord ... November 15, 2016 Does the job.Small, short end of cord with nozzle head. OK January 3, 2016 The compressor works fine but the pressure gauge doesn't work at all. Not worth sending back ... problem with this product it is slow and for best results run you car engine and you will pump ... December 5, 2015 I only have one problem with this product it is slow and for best results run you car engine and you will pump much faster Not what I needed. November 8, 2015 Bought this to replace a Kia pump that you have to screw on rather than just clamping on. It worked, and would do for an emergency, but the gauge goes in 50 psi increments that are less than 1/4 inch apart so forget trying to pump your car tires to an accurate pressure. I should have ignored the 'Car and Driver' name and paid attention to the psi rating.Used it once and tossed it in the trash. | 9% Anticipating that this is a disposable July 19, 2017 While I have not tested this product out, I anticipate that it won't last based on the 3 or 4 different brands and types of air inflators that I have owned. Some pricey and some like this one that is not. I hope to buy an air compressor with a tire inflator attachment one of these days but they weigh around 30 pounds. I recommend getting something else July 12, 2017 In an emergency get this. It does the trick in a pinch, but it is very loud and it does seem to expel a burning smell after a while. It took about 5 minutes to fill up one tire and at that point I was too worried to use it on the other tires. I have a small sedan. However, if you want something to continuously use, I recommend getting something else. All air but no gauge July 5, 2017 The product works fine ... as advertised. However, the gauge didn't work at all when filling the tires of a two-wheel hand truck. Without the gauge, you'll either need to have one or do without. Not a good idea, is it? Nice to have for occasional use and tire top offs. May 23, 2017 Gets the job done if you are patient - looses one star cause it tends to rattle very hard under work load which makes it hard to read the gauge The gauge on it was also pretty accurate, though you have to make sure you're ... December 29, 2016 This works very well. I had to add air to all four of my tires and it was able to add air to all four without it getting too hot. The gauge on it was also pretty accurate, though you have to make sure you're looking from directly above it, or otherwise it's easy to misread it. The one thing is this is VERY loud. It makes a loud grinding noise when it's running. It also vibrates strongly in your hands. I don't know if more expensive ones would produce less noise, but this is a good basic model, and it gets the job done. You'll need to check the pressure with a good tire gauge October 15, 2015 Works reasonably well. I bought this to maintain my motorcycle tires. The motorcycle (Kawasaki) has very little clearance between the brake rotors and valve stems, but the fitting supplied with this compressor fits in there. My complaints are it is slow, and the pressure gauge goes to 300 psi, so it's very difficult to read accurately in the 30-40 psi range. You'll need to check the pressure with a good tire gauge. It does not come with a Presta valve fitting, so you can't use it for high-performance bicycle tires. | 0% There are no reviews yet | 0% There are no reviews yet | 0% There are no reviews yet |
Two Star Reviews: | 12% Broke on the second try. I bought it for ... August 18, 2016 Broke on the second try. I bought it for pumping up a team's ball, but it lasted for one use (I shut it off between pumping up balls, too). not great, and kind of big February 15, 2016 It's okay, not great, and kind of big, but it beats a flat tire this product was a major disappointment. The gauge is very inaccurate November 21, 2015 Aside from fast shipping, this product was a major disappointment. The gauge is very inaccurate, the pump is slower than advertised, and the power toggle broke upon first use. hard to read gauge October 20, 2015 The gauge goes to high, so when trying to fill my tire to 34 psi I could not see exactly where to stop. It did put air in the tire but there are better options out there. | 5% Wont fill all the way September 13, 2017 My tires require 44psi. This only puts 40 in. Still close enough on a pinch very very loud and when you turn it on it ... March 16, 2017 very very loud and when you turn it on it jumps all over the place. You cant even read the dial. Kind of Disappointed January 17, 2017 Purchased this air compressor back in July 2016 last year, used it for 3 times and it died within 6 months. Somehow it just wouldn't turn on anymore. At first I thought maybe it was my car charger not working and tried it with my friend's car still didn't work. It was small, compact, easy to use but very loud. I wouldn't recommend it if it's only going to last a few uses only. PUMPS TOO SLOW. November 12, 2015 The item works ..... BUT I plugged it into my cigarette lighter and read the dial to be 20 lbs. I thought that was too low soI wanted to put more air in the tire. I ran the new compressor for something like 10 minutes, an at the end of that time the reading had changed by maybe 3 pounds if that much.I certainly would hate to try to inflate a low low tire at that rate in traffic sometime. It sounds like it is pumping but it is really slow. I am disappointed with it. Very inaccurate pressure gauage August 17, 2015 Unfortunately this unit has more con's than pro's:Cons:* The pressure gauge on my unit is very far off: I did a calibration of this unit with two other pressure gauges, and while the two other units agree on 32 psi, the AAA unit shows around 40 psi.* In addition this unit is not very well suited for car tires: Usually car manufacturers give you an exact number to which to inflate you car tires, usually somewhere between 28 and 35 psi. However, the pressure gauge only has markings in 5 psi steps --- you will never be able to exactly inflate it to the manufacturer suggested value...* The sealing rubber in the normal tire valve already shows signs of wear after just testing it with all my 4 tires twice. This leaves the question open how long it will last...Pros:* Compact design which allows to store the cords* The compressor seems to do what it says* InexpensiveVerdict:This is not a tool to regularly check your tire pressure with, it is just for emergencies... | 0% There are no reviews yet | 0% There are no reviews yet | 0% There are no reviews yet |
One Star Reviews: | 32% Did not work out of box April 17, 2017 Gave as a gift and did not work out of box. Hoping I can still return. This item needs TWO internal rubber vibration isolator mounts, not ONE, or NONE! August 29, 2016 Looking for a compact, inexpensive emergency tire pump, and this seemed to fill that bill. Original order of the item arrived with broken plastic case, caused by one of the two internal rubber vibration isolator mounts MISSING, allowing pump assembly to bang around inside during shipment. Hoped that a second time would be the charm, but replacement unit arrived with BOTH isolator mounts missing, and more broken plastic screw towers than before. None of the missing mounts were found in the case or package.I hadn't heard there was a rubber shortage in China, but until the reason for the manufacturer's inability to install them as required by the design is fully known, assume your order might be similarly afflicted. GENTLY shake the package upon arrival. If it rattles, expect the worst, even though the inner and outer box may have no sign of damage / impact. Did not use it immediately, had it for a ... June 18, 2016 Did not use it immediately, had it for a few months when I had a need to inflate a very low tire before I could drive anywhere, 5 minutes later and I am still waiting for it to get the tire inflated... Total piece of junk... Put it in the land fill... Pressure gauge does not work April 21, 2016 Horrible pump. The worst thing is that the built in pressure gauge does not work all the time. Sometimes it works and others it just sits at 0 Psi. Buyer beware November 8, 2015 I purchased this item and the tire pressure gauge did not work right out of the box so I requested a replacement. The replacement worked for a month and a week and this is with just inflating (4) bike tires once every weekend so it was long enough not to be eligible for replacement. In my opinion it is poorly manufactured. | 12% ... at all so its not as described i dont like it.
