Five Star Reviews: | 67% Perfection!! July 19, 2017 I use this with a cryogenic hemorrhoid product and it is better than the lubricant that came with the product because it does not drip a lot. I have used this for years without any complaints. Provided Excellent Relief When and Where I Needed It, After Surgery October 23, 2016 I was on the fence about posting the following review, as it is a fairly private issue for which I purchased the KY; however, it helped me -- a lot. As such, I’m posting this, as the information might help others as well (with the understanding that I am not a physician, in conjunction with idea that you should always consult a physician -- preferably a specialist -- before trying anything). Please bear with the backstory, as it directly relates to the purchase as well as how, and how much, the KY helped me.I had a hemorrhoidectomy for two stage-four external hemorrhoids and one internal hemorrhoid in April of this year (2016). I originally went to an MD (not a colorectal specialist, as I should have to begin with -- live and learn). There were complications from the surgery. After every bowel movement I would experience a stinging sensation (a six or seven out of ten on the pain scale) for at least 30 minutes. The stinging occurred despite cleaning properly and taking pain medication. After three months of this -- still experiencing pain, despite trying all kinds of salves and home remedies, and after the original surgeon seemed to have no explanation for the fair amount of pain I was in other than, “this shouldn’t be happening at this point, keep doing what you’re doing and you should heal in time” -- I went for a second opinion from a specialist in colorectal surgery. The colorectal surgeon (who turned out to be a Godsend) told me, due to the original surgery, I had an deep, chronic anal fissure in the various stages of healing, tearing, and healing again... and, possibly, a fistula. This was based on visual inspection only. The pain was much too severe to allow an internal inspection. He noted that surgery is almost always a last resort (and should have been in the original situation), but both issues would likely need surgery to correct them. Still, he wanted to exhaust all possibilities before trying surgery again. So, in the hopes of allowing me to heal enough to be able to check things internally, he told me I needed to take Metamucil, increase my fiber intake, drink a lot more water, take sitz baths to promote healing, quit the salves and home remedies (as they tend to do more harm than good) and… place a dab of KY Jelly on the open wound before and after bowel movements. He told me the KY would protect the wound during bowel movements, make clean-up easier, and would keep the wound from being open to the air and other things that go along with that particular nether region. An older country doctor (but a sage in his own right), he told me this region is made to heal fairly well on its own, as long as it’s tended to properly. Surprisingly, not once in all my research over the past few months (and I did a lot of research), did I come across anything that said to use KY for this purpose. While, in the end, we both came to the conclusion that I needed surgery to correct the issue (really the best thing I ever did), the KY Jelly was a-ma-zing throughout the entire process (before and after the second surgery)! It helped with bowel movements in ways I couldn’t have imagined and allowed me to sit down after those movements. If you haven’t gone through this, you don’t understand just how sensitive the area is when it’s wounded and healing. If you have gone through it or are, I feel for you… truly. For me, the KY provided tremendous relief.Recommended Purchase?: I’m not a doctor. I’m in no position to offer medical advice. I only offered what I did based solely on what I experienced. Everyone is different. Your results might vary. Always consult a physician (preferably a specialist) before trying anything. However, for me, the KY worked as my colorectal surgeon said it would -- providing relief I didn’t think possible. For that, I thank both him and KY and have no problem recommending it for this purpose. though it will dry out pretty quickly. It doesn't have any scent which is ... September 4, 2016 I use this as a lubricant for my menstrual cup and it helps a lot for insertion. Just a tiny bit goes a long way, though it will dry out pretty quickly. It doesn't have any scent which is good. Buy TWO!!! December 22, 2014 My advice is BUY TWO bottles, you're gonna need it. Shagalicious, Hooray!!!!! Slick! March 13, 2013 Can't really say much other than it makes things slick! Keep a glass of water, nearby if it dries a little it gets sticky, but a drop or two of water and its super slick again! Arrived quickly, and discreetly. | 86% The original Synco product is great for all kinds of maintenance July 19, 2017 This is the original Synco product. And it's the best there is. It won't ever harden, dry out, or melt. It retains it's lubrication properties in a wide temperature range. And the two best properties ... it is safe on all plastics and rubbers (so it won't degrade or ruin gaskets or boots etc.) and it's food safe, so it can be used to lubricate mixers, blenders, and other food preparation equipment. This stuff is expensive, but it can be used sparingly. I regularly use it for maintenance. I use it to lubricate the garage door and the opening mechanism, car doors, hood latch, and I even put a very thin coat on clean battery terminals. I have even used it on stubborn gate hinges and latch. And it is the perfect gun grease.I prefer this tube format since it is easiest to use and to reseal. Best Lube for Firearms January 24, 2017 I use this on all the high friction parts on all of my guns. That and a Q-tip works flawlessly. I also use slip2000 for oil. All of my weapons fire so smooth, its almost like the slides are gliding. Also, after hundreds of rounds through most of them, they clean up really well thanks to the slip2000, and there is no noticeable wear on any of the parts thanks in part to this grease. Highly recommended. it's a bird, no its a plane, oh wait no it's just super lube! December 19, 2016 if you need a synthetic grease/lubricant - this is what I recommend to all our friends.been using it for years on a wide range of items from:cars, doors, hinges, electronics, cleaning/lubricating ratchet heads, O-rings with our water filtration system , home appliances, flashlightsmore or less any metal fittings or threads or any high friction areas that a little lubrication won't hurt? super lube it is! a little goes a long way and the price on amazon is A+ ... gun trader and Trap coach I have been using Super Lube for a LOT of years August 27, 2016 As a gun trader and Trap coach I have been using Super Lube for a LOT of years.I recommend this to EVERYONE that owns a gun.A lot of Trap Shooters have taken my advice and use SUPER Lube on their 20,000.00 SHOTGUNS and are amazed at how this grease keeps their guns in GREAT CONDITION.This grease on the "pivot" points and you will NEVER have "galding"(spelling) problems with your gun. Joe Whitehurst My Go-to Multipurpose Lubricant February 25, 2016 I have used this product for years primarily as a plastic safe lubricant. I tried it on a few of my guns one day and was amazed at the difference it makes versus a product like RemOil. This product will make a brand new weapon feel more broken in like nothing else I've ever used. My personal method of application is with a Q-tip and applied thinly on wear surfaces. I can't stress the thin application enough for maximum results. This also keeps it from retaining dust and dirt where you least need it. It also works well in automotive applications as well. Plus, it's food safe. Simply put, whatever I put it on works better. Great lube for a 1911's April 26, 2015 Great lube for my 1911's. Anyone with a 1911 with a fitted slide knows they need a high quality, synthetic grease and this is the one. I use this on my Colt, my two Springfields and my STI 1911's and it works great. I also use it on the wear points in all my shotguns. |
Four Star Reviews: | 13% | 11% Good Synthetic Grease/Lube June 26, 2017 Seems to work great, I've been using on a few electrical connections for my motorcycle. The only downside I see is that the first tiny bit that comes out always seems to be watery and then you get to the regular consistency. Great for bicycle bearings, lube is clear so it's easy to see if it's still good or if it's dirty and needs cleaning during insp September 24, 2016 Great for bicycle bearings, lube is clear so it's easy to see if it's still good or if it's dirty and needs cleaning during inspection. Grease monkey May 18, 2016 Softer than vaseline. This is slightly lighter than automotive grease. It's more like NLGI 1.5. I used this to lube my computer fans but I mix a tiny amount of additional synthetic oil to make it more liquid. By itself it stalled my 40mm fans. After a couple of years in storage some oil has separated. A food grade lubricant January 12, 2016 Bought this as a food grade lubricant for the bottom slide out freezer on a Whirlpool 24 cu. ft. fridge. Applied it to the bearings and slides that the drawer opens and closed upon. Seems like it does what it's intended to do. Possible other uses for squeaking doors, automotive door hinges, wagons, and the like. Bread Machine saver! September 4, 2015 I use this grease to lubricate the paddle shafts in my bread machine. It is food-safe, and allows the paddles to come out with the loaf, or I remove the paddles once the kneading is complete. Depends on how alert I am each time I'm making bread! I make all of our daily bread, 2 loaves a week. At that rate, this tube should last quite a few years. I like it but,......... June 7, 2014 I like it but,.........There is simply no way to determine it's longer lasting properties until it's been on the job for at least a few months.I have it on the rack and pinion of a table saw fence. It works fine and, has smoothed everything out. It's only been a couple of weeks but so far.............diggin it. |
Three Star Reviews: | 8% I bought the wrong one September 19, 2017 I didn't realize this was the jelly cuz the pictures don't show the container, just the box. The jelly is very thick and can get kinda messy. Other than that it works well. Not as good as ultragel, but still fine February 24, 2016 It's ok. The KY Ultragel is much more expensive, but much more natural feeling. This is much more jelly-like which is fine, but not as pleasant. This feels more like what they use at the OB/GYN's office (it probably is the same thing, actually). Not bad and would use again, but would consider getting the ultragel next time instead because it is much better. Three Stars December 13, 2015 great feel, great for toys, great lubricative power, but slightly messy/sticky after about ten minutes, slightly expensive. For the price, it's good enough. September 22, 2014 Lube is expensive. It's unfortunate but true. Even budget lubes (and I include the standard K-Y in that category) are $4+ per tube. I managed to get this 6 pack of 4oz tubes (which are pretty large) for under $12. Great price, so no complaining there. This should keep the party going for quite a while.Quality wise, it's only okay. I find that the sensitive skin version actually works better though I have no explanation for why.The good:-A lot of people don't like jelly lubes, but I find them easy to measure, easy to apply and rarely spill on the sheets.-Easy to dispense, cap doesn't leak or anything-It's cheap-Water based lubes are easy to cleanThe not so good-It dries out fairly quickly. I don't have marathon sex sessions, so it's not really an issue most of the time, but after about 15 minutes, you probably need to reapply.-It doesn't smell great (which is true for most lubes)-Water based lubes do not work in wet situations like showers or pools. If this matters to you, you need to spend the money and get silicone based.-The last 15-20% of the tube is hard to get out. It gets trapped in the corners near the mouthBottom Line: If you need a lot of cheap lube and keep your lovemaking to a tight 10 minutes, this is a good affordable option. But if you have the means for something better, you can definitely do better. | 2% Oven racks with bearings slide nicely now. Smelled a little during first couple uses ... February 18, 2016 Oven racks with bearings slide nicely now. Smelled a little during first couple uses of oven (baking at 350F or less). Didn't expect that of this high-temp food-grade lube, but it went away. NOT FOR LUBING KEYBOARD July 5, 2015 I bought this thinking that I can use it to lub my keyboard, but it turn out that it is too thick that I end up using it for smoothing out window sliding and door. |
Two Star Reviews: | 6% Two Stars February 11, 2017 It is not very effective in doing the work it supposed to do. I would not buy it again. Not very good July 17, 2016 This was the wrong product for me both in the hand and in the "sleeve". Dries up rather quickly and tends to make a mess. You'll probably want to take a shower after using it. It can get the job done but there are much better products out there. It's good for what it is February 24, 2016 It's water based, I should have read it closer, it's not what I like. Not impressed January 3, 2016 Lubes for like a minite. Then gets gummy and sticky. Not sure what that's about. Maybe it was a bad bottle? No one was impressed with this. | 0% I can't recommend this product for use in aquariums March 15, 2015 I can't recommend this product for use in aquariums. I had some overly tight (new) gaskets on my marineland canister filter and chose to go with this lube over the more expensive "aquarium" stuff. After 4 weeks of use when I clean the filter the grease has turned to a white and sticky dried up paste that is the exact opposite of lubricant. Paper towels couldn't clear it off so I had to use my finger to scrape it off the walls of the inlet tubes and could literally stick my fingers together like glue with the stuff I scraped off. Needless to say, it helps to get things connected but it makes it worse to get them disconnected since they're practically glued together. Unlike the expensive name brand stuff which stays a consistent and fluid grease even after use. I've been using it for 3 months now and get the same results every time. seamed like Vaseline and was thick July 22, 2014 seamed like Vaseline and was thick, I was looking for the most slipperiest stuff I could find |
One Star Reviews: | 6% Does not last long. Gummy February 20, 2015 Seems to dry up and get gummy rather quickly. I do not recommend it Too Sticky and Gooey January 29, 2013 I don't care for this product at all and threw it in the trash. The goop is too gooey and sticky. Pure vaseline or creamy vaseline works much better and is a lot cheaper. Get it very dry quickly January 2, 2013 Gell is not gentle and safety.. It getting dry very quick and getting burn. Brought it from walgreen or medical better than from third party | 1% this grease is very thick and causing friction rather than smoothing of my elliptical. June 28, 2016 this grease is very thick and causing friction rather than smoothing of my elliptical. Not good for elliptical tracks November 2, 2015 I purchased this product to lubricate between the rollers and tracks on my elliptical machine. The product did not work for this purpose. It did not stay on the tracks. Within days the lubricant was either pushed away by the rollers or splattered on the floor from the movement of the rollers against the tracks. The rollers were completely dry and creaking when the machine moved. Not Ok for All Rubbers September 30, 2013 Not ok for automotive EPDM rubber (weather stripping, caliper boots, etc.) or regular rubber (faucet washers). Unfortunately, it is more like petroleum grease than silicone grease. Doesn't seem to help August 8, 2010 I applied this to my mountain bike on the wheel hubs using a grease gun and it didn't seem to help things spin faster or smoother like other lubes do that I have used. For the price I expected a lot more. |
