Great boots!
October 27, 2017
These are great boots! I had a similar pair that finally wore out, and I liked them enough to get them again. This version seems to have softer rubber on the bottom, which feels much more comfortable, as well as the gel memory-foam insole. I think the softer sole may wear out a little faster, but the added comfort makes it worth it.The upper part of the boot did require some minor breaking in. They were stiff on my ankles at first. I rolled the upper part 360 degrees in and out and that took care of it.My old pair did fit a little tight in the toes, so I went up a 1/2 size this time and they feel great.
I work, these boots dont show it though. :-)
April 9, 2017
I've had them 4 months and have nothing negative to report. A few times I applied mink oil. I do irrigation work and have been for 12 years, so the shoes are getting wet and worked often. I do not see any wear or seams coming apart yet. I also forsee these shoes to last for many many more months. I would buy them again

Still breaking them in but they are already very comfortable. I normally wear a 91/2 D but ordered these in 10 D because I didn't want them tight and while they were a little larger not as large as I expected of a 10.
I LOVE that I could order extra wide
January 14, 2017
We'll see if the five stars stand. Writing this after a day having them. I LOVE that I could order extra wide. FINALLY, shoes that fit!!! I usually have to go a size larger to accommodate my wide little feet. 8 extra wide fit perfectly! That is standard for me. I'm an 8, but have to typically go to nine to accommodate wider feet, so I think the sizes are standard.Actually, very comfortable, but I added Dr Scholls inserts, which I often do. Very heavy as many complain about, but I expected that. I don't know who buys work boots like this and expects them to be light. Heavy duty means heavy. I'll report back if they start to wear out and how, and if I thought I got my money's worth.
Best work boots
July 21, 2016
These are my favorite everyday boots, working out doors delivering beer as well as in a warehouse these boots have lasted me 7 years. Through Pennsylvania winters and Georgia summers.I have put countless miles on these bad boys and was disappointed when I could only find them in the dark brown color in stores, the wheat color is sharp, I am very pleased to have found the wheat on amazon, like I said these are my favorite boots I've owned, the soles wear overtime not fast, just had to put Dr Scholls in but I do that with all of my shoes anyway. I'm a size 9.5 for sneakers and theses boots I'm a 9.5, spot on with the sizing. All in all I am very very pleased with these.
Ladies, you can wear these great work boots too!
June 1, 2016
My favorite work boots for summer! Steel toe, waterproof, non-skid on slick concrete floors (I can literally turn on a dime when others fall on their rears), extremely comfortable right out of the box. Can wear these for 15 hours and my feet feel great! I work at a park, outside in all weather, in buildings with many stairs/concrete floors/cleaning chemicals, operate heavy maintenance equipment. I need something that stands up to constant use. Purchased these at a Skechers store, then saw them on Amazon for a great low price. I'm still wearing my six year old pair; the new ones are in reserve. My old pair may just see me through to retirement in a few years. I'm a 60 year old female, wear size 8 regular to wide in ladies' boots. The men's size 7 fit me perfectly. I can wear heavy or light work socks. I'll be wearing these Skechers boots as long as I can hop on my tractor and dig in my gardens. The only thing I would change is to make them about 4 inches higher on the calf as I'm often doing field work in Massasauga Rattlesnake areas. It would be a nice option to have more leg protection. Regardless, I love my Skechers boots!

Best boot I have ever owned.
September 14, 2017
Bought the boot on my foot back om August 14th, 2015.. I have finally worn through the sole of the foot. I have cur these boots with razor blades and saws and grinders.. By accident obviously. Never ripped or come unthreaded. I've had Dewalt, among other brands and they never last a year. These boots lasted over two years, and I'm still going to wear them around the yard.. But I want thicker soles again for work consider to do carpentry.. Lots of nails. I wear these boots 6 days a week and even sometimes on Sunday.. I am super pressed.
My default work boot
September 14, 2017
Very nice fit. I've been defaulting to Timberland pro for at least 12 years. I work at a Home improvement store and walk five miles a day on that hard concrete. Recently I purchased the "direct attach" version of the steel toe boot a couple of times and found it not as comfortable. I get 1 to 2 years of use out of each pair. I use the same boot for personal use doing lots of outdoor work and trail/ mountain biking. In the past I've had shoes and boots where the tongue wants to drift off to one side or the other. I hate that. It seems like a huge quality control issue. Timberland Pro has never had that problem. I'm guessing I've had at least seven pairs...maybe ten.
Great Boots, No Breaking-In Period which was awesome!
July 16, 2017
Enjoy these boots, first pair I have worn in along time which needed NO breaking period which was awesome. I put them on Saturday morning figuring I would wear them around the house a bit to help break them in, wore them for almost 12 hrs that day and felt great. With the color they naturally scuff a bit easier then other boots depending what you work around but I like them and will certainly be buying another pair when these start to get run down.
Awesome Boots
May 18, 2017
Sizing with shoes is always a nightmare. I can wear anything between an 8 and an 11, depending on the brand and style. Size 10 seems to be my sweet spot, not too loose, not to tight. I'd say I'm an average width size 10, so that's what I ordered these in. They fit perfect and are extremely comfortable. I could see how ordering these too small, or synching them down too tight would make the steel toe uncomfortable (same with any boot I guess). Initial quality seems very high - good quality, tough leather, thick durable sole, etc. I haven't had these boots for very long, but, as of right now, I would definitely recommend them.
Not the most comfortable for every day, but perfect for occasional wear
January 18, 2017
Works great for construction site visits and volunteering shifts once a month, things like that. Not super comfortable that I would want to wear them every day but works great and looks professional for what I need it for.
One of the few boots that can survive my job
February 22, 2016
I work at a trash burning plant, our boots get covered in ash daily. The ash dries most boots out making them too tight, stiff and eventually crack. Many boots don't last 6 months. I've tried several other quality boots over the last 13 years and none of them hold up for even half as long as these. Almost everyone at my job uses only these boots and I tell all new employees not to waste their time with anything else. They are also unbelievably comfortable, right out of the box. No break in needed. I have never had a lace hook break off either, even with Kevlar laces. Other boots I use with Kevlar laces (because they hold up to the ash) the hooks eventually break off. These boots also have a nice tread that holds up very well, and that don't trap ash or mud like so many other boots. These boots also have support in the middle of the sole which means that the sole will not put pressure on the arch of your foot when walking up ladders.I have a wide foot, size 13 4e. I buy size 13 normal width for these boots and never get chafed by the sides of the steel toe like many other boots I have tried. This boot is also a great all around work boot, I have a pair that I wear at home that is several years old with no significant wear on it.

Good durable, comfy work boot that runs a bit small
October 31, 2017
I've read some other reviews giving this shoe one star because they run small. It's true, they do run small. I normally wear a 10 1/2; had to return for an 11. But once the fit was right I found that this was a warm, comfy shoe, easily broken in by the 3rd or 4th wearing. Any work boot requires breaking in. As for waterproof, I wore these for a walk through dewy grass the first morning I had them. Not sure if it was my imagination or not but I sensed some dampness around my right big toe. So I used some mink oil around the threaded area, let it sit overnight, and now they're fine. So I recommend this shoe for comfort and durability; just be aware to order a half size larger than your normal shoe size, and have some mink oil or other waterproofing material on hand.

August 2, 2017
I've worked in these for a little over a week now and, I've found them to be nearly perfit. Very comfortable but, after 10 hours they start to feel heavy. My work can last 10 to 12 hours some days during the summer but in a normal 8 or 9 hour day they are, to me, great!
Quality ^ sizing not so
April 13, 2017
This is a excellent quality boot, well made, sturdy, but the sizing is off as to USA size standards I ordered a 1/2 size larger than I normally wear fit just right w/ thick socks. This not new problem couple years ago bought this boot in brown at JCP too small

March 19, 2017
I've had these boots for about 6 months now. They are warm and waterproof (though I did apply some mink oil when I first got them) and relatively comfortable. I would suggest adding a quality insole from dr scholl or whatever because I wore these on a recent trip to Chicago for a few days, and they absolutely killed my feet from walking about 7 miles a day.
Not as happy with the memory foam, newer pair as threw original non -memory foam pair.
October 30, 2016
I have an older pair which are probably 3 years old and black. I really liked them. I drive a semi and walk in 2-4" of water pretty regularly. My feet never get wet and are comfortable after many hours on my feet. Although, I bought a brown pair that have memory foam in them. Although, I haven't had any issues with water getting in them. My feet are not near as comfortable in the memory foam, newer pair, after several hours on my feet as the original pair. I don't think the memory foam supports your feet as well.
Awesome for looks and quality, Good for comfortableness
May 21, 2016
I thought these boots were a great value as opposed to other brands that can costs $100 or more dollars. I just wanted some boots to beat up around the house or wear around throughout the day. For me they are comfortable for a couple hours and then I start getting a blister on the back of my leg. Full disclosure though, I typically wear sneakers and dress shoes so I am not used to wearing boots all of the time. I still wear these often as they look great and they are a nice tough boot. I would buy these again but it doesn't look like these are going to fall apart any time soon.

Good boot, but...
September 24, 2017
Don't want to down-rate these too much since they're a good boot, & some of the problem may be resolved by wearing in. We ordered same style and size as previous 2 sets, because my husband has really liked and gotten good wear out of them. He is a material handling equipment technician which puts him down on knees & toes frequently; doing a great deal of walking finding company contacts & equipment, carrying tools to & fro, & so forth; & working in a variety of circumstances....so the boots get hard wear. This pair is tight in the instep & especially the edge of the steel reinforcement so that he had to remove the insole which could be problematic with all that walking and his former fasciitis. The previous boots were able to accommodate the orthotic insoles for flare-ups. We're hoping for the best.
Redesigned toe = less happy!
August 13, 2017
I only gave these boots a four star because the design of the toe has been changed from the last pair of these that I had. The toe is less rounded now and that cut down on the toe room. If I had known that they were redesigned I wouldn't have purchased them. I like the older style better.
Wish they came in a wider size.
July 3, 2017
I have owned a few pairs of Timberland Pro Soft Toes and they are very comfortable. So i decided to try a steel toe version because my job requires them. I have wide feet near the toe joints so i always get wide sized boots. Unfortunately the steel toe wasn't wide enough which caused my toes to pinch leading to discomfort over time. If these came in a Double Wide size, I would reorder them immediately. But the main reason I returned these particular boots was because of the plastic part that sits behind the heel. The top outer edge of this part would sit under my ankle bone and jam into it when walking, and constantly scrape throughout the day. By the end of the day the area around my ankle bone was bruised and swollen and so tender that I had to unlace the boots completely. I will never know if it was just a defect in these boots because they don't have a wide enough size for me to reorder.

My boyfriend wears them for work. He really likes them but the one button thing came off after 2 days so not sure how long they will last
Excellent boot with limited breakin required
October 24, 2016
After waiting far longer than usual via Amazon for my boots to ship, an eyelet broke off the first time I laced it up. Once I found a phone number for Amazon Help, the agent jumped right on it and had a new pair of boots shipped immediately. I am very pleased with the product and have already worn them two days for home projects. They are very comfortable and don't seem to require any extensive breakin. I will likely add a beefier inner pad as the existing one is not very cushioning. This is my first pair of steel toe boots, so that takes a little getting used to. I appreciate the piece of mind they afford and don't sense any discomfort from the steel toe. Overall, very pleased.
Poor insole but nice boot
November 16, 2015
I usually wear size 12 regular width shoes/boots but after I had a severe bout of tendinitis in my heals (caused by a different brand of warn out shoes with poor insoles) I have to remove the non-existing soles (and these boots are no exception) and stack Dr. Scholl's® Massaging Gel® Insoles and on top of that Dr. Scholl's® Custom Fit Orthotic Inserts, CF 440. I now buy only size 13 wide width so I can get this extra padding in. The extra padding/insoles fit perfect without trimming and zero binding in the 13w boot. This is a great boot, I’ll report back on durability after a year worth of wear.

November 7, 2017
These shoes fit well and are indeed water proof. It seems these days makers of work boots like to make the tongue come up to the level of the lacing area. Personally I like the tongue to come up a little higher, but that isn't the case with this pair of shoes. They feel a little heavy after about 4 or 5 hours, so I only wear them if absolutely necessary. Fair arch support although the balls of my feet feel a little tender after a few hours as well.
These boots are just okay.
September 11, 2017
These boots are just okay. They are rather stiff, big and clunky.
New Boots
August 9, 2017
These boots are not like the 2000-2004 line up. They need a little working in and wide is not the wide of passed days. The size ok but if I had to order all over from start. I would skip the .5 in the size table. It will take some to work them in so they don't hurt a little. I hope! Time will tell.
Good but Heavy!
April 12, 2017
It does the job, but really heavy. Don't get it if you walk long distances
These looked like the closest replacement
October 24, 2016
I bought these to replace the "Bully 2" from Sketchers that I had purchased for some years. These looked like the closest replacement. They're ok, but definitely larger overall and a bit clunkier. Will probably look for a different boot once these need to be replaced.

February 25, 2016
The person I bought these for loves them but they need inserts (Timberland are good and worth the price) to fight fatigue and provide extra cushioning. The reason these only get 3 stars is, Sketcher's manufactures their shoes and boots to fall apart after about a year of wear. Boo.

Alright for the Price, but Get Yourself Something Nicer
September 22, 2017
Relatively comfortable, but the break-in period was rough with a lot of blisters. I would recommend not wearing this pair for long days until it's well broken in. For the price, it's a fair pair of boots; I would still recommend that you get some Irish Setters or Red Wings though, even if they are more expensive. If you're going to spend this type of money for a pair of boots, you might as well spring an extra $60-100 for a pair that will be comfortable from the get-go and will last substantially longer. However, if you're on a tight budget or just a cheap bastard, these guys will do the trick.
The jury is out
July 11, 2017
I am kind of torn about these work boots.Pros - they are a very good value, they fit well and how's a construction superintendent I've been through hell and back with them. The size fit is pretty true to form.Cons - The souls tend to separate on some of the shoes. Those that don't separate tend to squeak when you walk. Customer Service at Timberland is pretty nonexistent or they really don't care about this problem.Do I get a pair of red wings st more than twice the price or keep putting up with this nonsense? The jury is still out…
At first comfortable, now not so much
May 9, 2017
I bought these for my husband because he said his last Pros were so nice. At first he loved these, then a couple weeks later he has huge blisters on his heels. He is still wearing them now, but requested I get him some Dr. Scholls inserts last night.
They look great though. Well made as always
March 3, 2017
I always purchase timberland or wolverine. Although my shoe is is 9, I prefer 9,5 Wide. Since Amazon didn't have Wide I ordered regular 9,5. Mistake. With insoles made for work boots, the boots seem too tight. When the day is over, I have pain. They look great though. Well made as always.
Careful with the fit, not just the length.
October 26, 2016
I returned the first pair after putting them on and got half a size bigger than my normal shoe size. However, the next pair felt stiff / a little tight on, but not unnormal for new leather boots. They are very well made, comfortable and look good; so I wanted them to work out. I wore them for a couple of weeks and out on sites, but found that the top of the edge of the steel toe pushed into the top of my foot where the big toe joins the foot. In particular on my right foot. Don't think my feet are that different and it appears that the clearance was different between the boots. This would have been a 1 star had I not been refunded- kudos to Amazon. So make sure they fit you, including the bend and that the edge of the steel toe doesn't dig in.
Durable but very low water resistance
April 26, 2016
I've had these boots for two months now, since Feb 24th 2016. I'm am a dredger and work in or around salt water in very rugged conditions every day. These boots have held up very well. Before these Timberlands I had a pair of Redwings that were an identical style that cost $350. In a comparable amount of time the Red wings had ripped seems and the soles started cracking. The only con I have noticed, and it's a big one for me, is that the boots are barely water resistant. Everything below the base of the tongue is sealed nicely. However, the sides of the tongue are connected to the boot by a type of fabric mesh and it lets water in immediately. If you want a durable boot that you can walk through puddles with, this is a great boot. Just don't expect to walk through any type of standing water and stay dry with these.

Sketchers Sizing Is Not Correct Beware
September 23, 2017
Have been wearing two pairs of 9 1/2 D number 4243 Sergeants Sketchers which are the same as the number 4442 but a darker color for about 5 years. I ordered the dark brown Verdict Sketchers in a 9 1/2 wide for the extra room, but they are a 9 1/2 D or smaller with a wide label. I still have a five year old new pair of the 9 1/2 D number 4243, and they have more room than these 9 1/2 wide Verdicts number 4442. Buyer beware! I bought a pair of 9 wide Brahma boots at Walmart today, and they fit ok. They measure 4" across top of foot, and the Sketchers 9 1/2 wide measures 3 1/2".
Good shoes, but the tread wears out FAST!
August 24, 2017
My husband has worn these a little over a month at work, and the soles are already wearing off. As long as you are gentile on shoes, they are fantastic...but the tread isn't exactly for work.
Not comfortable, foot fatigue and knee pain
June 29, 2017
I'd so hoped these would be extremely comfortable for my husband to wear when working. However, by midday his feet hurt badly. Not as comfortable as the sketchers shoes I've had or my son has worn.

Go larger on the size chart ..........
June 21, 2017
I went by the Amazon Guidelines on size when I bought this shoe. Unfortunately it was way narrow and has caused a lot of problems with my feet. I now have bleeding blisters on my toes and cannot return them because they have been worn on the jobsite. If you buy this boot definitely go with a size larger because they definitely run small. I am going through chemotherapy and the doctor said that it causes crystals to form in the blood and therefore the feet swell. This is probably a large part of the problem. Did not find this out tho until I started having problems with the feet. If you're doing chemo always get larger shoes.
Very uncomfortable, not just for breaking in period
June 12, 2017
Very uncomfortable fit right from the get go. I thought they just needed breaking in so i never returned them. Turns out they didn't need breaking in so now i'm stuck with one uncomfortable pair of boots, no matter what socks you wear. I gave them two stars cause they look so darn sharp.
Bulky, too small, not comfortable.
March 8, 2017
Hard, very hard. Not comfortable the first time I put them on. The shoes are also a bit small. Think Herman Munster boots. I returned them.

June 19, 2016
Ordered these work boots, because I ordered Timberland's in the past and they were perfect. This pair however, not so much. While the boot looks pretty nice for a work boot, and is pretty comfortable all around it has one major defect. The back support, where the achiles heel is.. there is some type of metal back there, or hard plastic.. which has been hitting into the back of my foot. Leaving me with Achilles pain every day after work. Maybe I just got a defective pair, or I did something to them? Not sure. Though regardless I've only had them for a about 2 or 3 months. And I've noticed this. So just something to be aware of. otherwise they'd get five stars. Hope this review helps.
Not very comfortable. The inside sole is plastic and very stiff
April 3, 2016
Not very comfortable. The inside sole is plastic and very stiff. I am looking at buying new insoles for these boots... if I decide to keep them. Also, can easily feel the steel toes. Top of the tongue is hard and rubs on your shin. Fits well though and looks good. Can also tell that they are built to last. Unfortunately, comfort is crucial with any shoe especially depending on how long you have to wear them.
Soles Crumble
March 18, 2016
Boots stored in climate controlled closet, used maybe 5 times over the last 5 years, look brand new! Problem: the rubber soles are crumbling apart, complete and utter garbage sole material! Never had this happen on any other shoe I own, some are decades old.

Not as advertise. Came with that awful memory foam stuff that sketchers insist on using in their newer stuff. Unfortunately I couldn't afford to send back to U.S for refund so boots ended up going to charity.

Even the wide size is too narrow and uncomfortable
October 13, 2017
I've never had to buy a wide size shoe in my life, and even the wide size in this boot is so narrow that it rubs on the outside of my little toe and is incredibly uncomfortable and annoying. I originally bought the medium width, wore them to work for one day and realized that they were way too narrow for my feet. I now have to send that pair back under the Timberland 30-day comfort guarantee, which takes up to two months for a refund. I bought the wide size and even they are too narrow and incredibly uncomfortable. I would not recommend this boot to anyone with even slightly wide feet, they will not fit properly.
Steel toe 12w too narrow!!
July 22, 2017
I ordered both the soft toe and steel toe 12w. The soft toe for just to wear use fit perfectly and the steel toes for work were too tight!! If you compare the two like I did you'll see that the steel toe ones are actually more narrow. I put a tape measure to them and they are almost a 1/4 more narrow than the soft toes. I will be returning the steel toes and will order another brand/type of boots for work which is a bummer because they look great and the weight is decent for a work boot. Now I have to take the time to repackage and ship back, ugh!See in the attached picture, the left is the soft toe the right boot is the steel toe.
