Fantastic Boots!
April 11, 2017
Fantastic hiking boots. I have worn them quite a bit now and have to say they are extremely comfortable and surprisingly light. I haven't fully tested out their level of waterproofness, however, the minimal amount of water and much I have been in, they have worked perfectly. I have a wide foot and they have plenty of room. The toe box is roomy as well. Sizing was perfect I wear a size 10, and the Size 10 I ordered fits exactly how I was hoping. My one complaint is they could use a tad more arch support. I typically don't have issues in this area, but after wearing these for several hours, I do notice a bit of fatigue in my right arch, but nothing that would stop me from walking.
Comfy waterproof all-day winner
December 19, 2016
My husband needed a pair of boots to wear to work for rainy & cold days. He works at an auto auction and walks 8-10 miles a day, everyday, at work, so he needed something that would be comfortable on the asphalt and keep his feet dry. These Timberlands are fantastic! These are lightweight, waterproof, & more comfortable than his sneakers. (I know because he tells me all the time!) He has been raving about how great these are, and it doesn't hurt that they are also nice looking shoes; he's gotten quite a few compliments on them. These are definite winners.
BUY THE SHOES!
Love them! Hope to have them for years more!
June 6, 2016
Love these boots. Still wearing them today after years! They look good and keep your feet both dry & warm. The sole is very comfortable which can be an issue for me with boots. They were also wide enough for my feet as well! The outside has outlasted the weather big time! While it is scuffed after many hikes and snow storms, it still looks pretty nice! I also used them as wader boots once when one of my wader boots got so stuck in the mud I had to ditch it. After letting them dry out, they were as good as new! Not even a bad smell! Very very happy with these boots especially for the price (which at the time was bit less then current June 2016 prices).
So far very pleased with these boots
June 15, 2015
So far very pleased with these boots! They are super-comfortable. I am a landscaper, so I needed a sturdy, comfortable, waterproof boot. We are outside all day, rain or shine. Given the well-known, well-established name that is Timberland I was hopeful that the quality would live up to the name. I have had these for a month or so and I am happy that I spent the money. I think they will last a while.

I will mention there was a particularly wet, rainy day we worked. Toward the end of the day I feel like my feet felt like they might be slightly damp. I was a little disappointed, but I wouldn't say my feet were "wet" - they weren't really, although I don't think I would walk through ankle-deep puddles like I would with my previous boots, which were Merrill boots, and significantly more expensive. Also I should add that others have mentioned it would be wise to buy Mink Oil to rub the boots with, improving the waterproofing of the boot. I have since bought Sof-Sol Mink Oil.

Summary: Good, sturdy boot that has decent support and is very comfortable - and for the most part - waterproof.
great boot/shoe so far
September 15, 2014
I have only had 3-days so far but the fit is very good, I can move my toes which to me is good!

I put sno-seal on as so as i tried them on out of the box, i'm not sure they needed it but i like to know there is a nice base coat there.

I love the laces and the catches to lace up the padded tongue really does let you lace it up tight and not cut off blood flow to your feet.

I am VERY hard on shoes and boots, I work in an office environment but don't usually change my shoes to do barn/yard work and such. example the shoe i replace where ECCO that cost $220, and lasted me 2 years, they came apart at the seams............ that are still usable but i don't think they are waterproof anymore.

I like a waterproof shoe/boot that covers/supports my ankles that is why i use these in the office, after having very wet feet from a downpour in the parking lot at work one time. time will tell will update at one year mark remind me if i have not

Awesome boots.
September 6, 2017
I usually give 4 stars on good items but these boots earn 5. I have had these boots for almost 8 months and I wear them everyday. My boots usually only last a few months before something gives out. I walk a lot and am very hard on boots. These boots are built tough. My only complaint is they are difficult to get to hold a shine and barely shine at that.
Hands-down, the BEST work boots ever!
August 22, 2017
I've worn these boots ever since I first found them probably 10 years ago. I used to do landscaping full time, so they would only last 8 months to a year or so, but that's pretty much to be expected with heavy use. One thing I have always LOVED about these is that they fit GREAT, and feel GREAT straight out of the box - EVERY TIME! Every other pair I've worn had a "break-in" period, where they would hurt for like the first few weeks. Not so with these. They're absolutely the best boots I've ever worn. My last pair lasted around 5 years, since I dropped down to only 2-3 days of outside work per week, so they are EXTREMELY durable. I honestly probably didn't "need" to replace them, but they were looking a little ragged and I just felt like a new pair. These didn't disappoint. Just as comfy and rugged as ever, and the same size I had always worn still worked great. Thank you Caterpillar for an AMAZING PAIR OF WORK BOOTS! I'll never look elsewhere, as long as these are still made. These are my boots for life.
Great boots for the price
May 10, 2017
I have worn this shoe most days for the past two years. The upper part of the boot is the weak part. The leather holds up excellent. If they put a better upper on the boot I would think this boot would last five years or better. It is an excellent boot for the price. I work the new boots for about 4 hours so far. Didn't make my feet sore. I know they will be much more comfortable after the break in period. I will keep buying this boot. This is my 3rd pair.
There's a foot in my boot!
May 6, 2017
Great boots. Good quality and look nice. I'll buy them again when I wear the ones I have out. This is the second pair of Caterpillar shoes I have purchased, the others being winter shoes. Both have been really good quality.
Walking Machines!
April 20, 2017
Best out-of-the-box fit I've had in a work boot in years! They feel solid and fit to my foot like I've been wearing them for weeks. I haven't had a nubuck boot since I was a kid, so we'll see if I can keep them relatively clean, but they feel like the sole says, " Walking Machines"! The nubuck felt so good, I bought a pair of the dark brown, too. Love that they're oiled leather and not a glossy finish leather, and they fit as well or better than the first pair. If they wear as well as they fit, I've got it made!
Love!

I bought these for my boyfriend bc his boots were falling apart. He wears a size 14 so I was a bit leery to order online. I ordered them on chance and he has had nothing but positive things to say about them. He says they are really comfortable, fit great, and keep his feet dry.

Wrong size
April 7, 2017
I have enjoyed Timberland products for many years now. I get at least a year from each pair of boots I purchase. They wear well, they are comfortable and the style is awesome ! However, I don't know how, or why, but I seem to have ordered the wrong size this time ? I have always worn a size 10 wide. Somehow, I got it wrong and received a 10.5 size. I thought id just get used to the fit after a while, but its not working out to well ? I have a severe problem with my Left ankle. Its been severally broken twice, so I need lots of support from my shoes, that's why I wear this brand. Ive already put a few miles on these, I guess Im stuck till I can afford a new pair now ? If not, please let e know asap, and ill send these back asap...Thanks for the interest. Sincerely Don
Warm, comfortable, and durable
March 12, 2017
I first bought these boots in 2012 and by 2017 the soles are worn enough that I have to order a new pair. I mainly wear them in winter, and they've worked great. My feet have gotten wet a couple of times while stepping in puddles, but as long as the puddles aren't too deep, my feet stay dry. The best part about them is the insulation. Paired with thick socks, these boots keep my feet warm, even when the Polar Vortex hits the city.
Good boot
December 18, 2016
Bought these over the summer to take on a fishing and camping trip in northern Canada. After a few nights of reading through reviews of various boots, I decided on these.

First thing I did when I got them was rub them down with Mink Oil. I wore them a little bit around the house to ensure that the fit was good, and there weren't any obvious problems. However, I didn't have time to put any real outdoor mileage on them before my trip.

I wore these boots all day for 6 days straight without any real break-in time beforehand. They fit great, were comfortable, and I was impressed with them. The provided stable grip on the rocks as I was stomping around the bush. They kept my feet dry, despite several splashes getting in and out of the boat. I didn't sink them over the ankle, but several times I was up to the laces without any leaks.
Good quality boot for hiking/walking.
September 20, 2016
I have only one issue with this boot. Overall I like the boots, felt good right out of the box. With that said, I have a size 9 reg foot but on the wide side but not enough to order wider E width. The solution has always been to buy 1/2 larger ie.. 9.5 instead of 9.0. My current boots being replaced are 9.5 and I can wear heavy wool socks like I perfer. Not with these, I probaly should have returned them but with thin athletic socks they fit like a glove. I am sure in time when the breaking in has accured the boots will have more room but they really should be a bit looser from the start. What I am saying is order them 1/2 size larger than your current boot no matter what size foot you really have. On the topic of water proofing which has been discussed in other reviews, if you do what you should use a protector on them before the first use... then there will be no issue with that up to the upper eyelets at that point the lower web of the tung stops and so would the waterproofing, they will resist water for a short period of time at ankle depth but water will seep by. The issue of traction which is a big one for me, I have put them to the test in that area and I am very pleased. I have not had a slip in situations where one would exspect, after rain going over rocks and dead trees no prob. Ah yes the final piece of the puzzle is the support both shank and ankle, I am pleased to say that there pretty good in both areas. Plenty of support.. I would recommend these, just order as I stated.
Good basic boot
August 12, 2016
I had some problems early on with rubbing on top of my foot right behind the big toes. A new pair of socks fixed that problem. Other than that one of the eyelets at the bottom came out early on but doesn't seem to affect anything greatly. It's been three months now and the bottom sole is starting to separate. This is about typical for me as these are everyday wear and I walk several miles a day at work...and go hiking and backpacking when I'm not there. The price was very good as I got the wheat colored style though I think I might spring for the dark brown next time.

They are great so far otherwise
March 18, 2017
These run a little big in my experience. Ordered my normal size. I can pull the laces all the way tight, yet they are still not quite tight enough. I regret not sizing down on these. They are great so far otherwise. Might get another smaller pair for work
They're comfortable, and breath easily
January 21, 2017
They're well made boots. So far I've put them through about 120 hours of hard warehouse work, and they still look brand new, aside from the dust on them. They're comfortable, and breath easily. My only complaint is that they seem smaller than normal sizes. I originally ordered a 12 wide, as that is what I normally get. Unfortunately that was too small. My toes bunched up against the front of the boot, and the sides squeezed my foot. I sent them back and got a size 13. Toes aren't bunched up anymore, but the sides still squeeze. Also, it's not easy to remove the insoles that come with them, so I couldn't use the custom ones I have.Overall they're still comfortable, and they help support my ankles, so I'll be keeping them.
9 Months In
June 23, 2016
These were my first work boots they were great they lasted me nine months, but I'll be experimenting with others just to see which ones I'll be staying with.
... for my boyfriend for Christmas and they're still looking great. I got them for him to wear outside ...
April 8, 2016
I bought these boots for my boyfriend for Christmas and they're still looking great. I got them for him to wear outside of work (I know, silly that I bought "work" boots that aren't for work) so that he'd have some supportive boots that weren't being worn out in the matter of 2-3 months like his actual work boots. His only issue with them is that they didn't have enough cushion for him and made his feet sore after only a couple hours, which is why I'm giving them 4 stars. He bought some Dr. Scholl's gel inserts and that seemed to fix the problem for him. Since these aren't his work boots he's probably wearing them maybe 2 total days a week, so the soles are still looking good.
Good so far
November 18, 2015
I'm a plumber so in on my feet all day, driving, squatting, digging. They have kept up so far. Laces are showing wear to soon though. Have had cheap Walmart boots with laces that lasted longer. Not really bad just a bit annoying. The fit is good. Took a few days to break in. The width is a bit small for being a wide width. Not happy with that. My feet are wide and until they broke in I had horrible pain in the arch. They don't scuff which is important in customers homes. The treads clean easily on their own or with help. They seem to breath some what. Not sure haven't tested then in the heat.
Great boots
November 1, 2014
This is my second pair, unfortunately I went down half a size and they're still too big. BEWARE they do run large. These boots are sturdy, stylish and can be used for almost any application. They do however crease pretty quickly but it seems like they could hold up otherwise for a long time. The price is great considering Timberland boots cost way more for the same product. They are actually quite comfortable and absorb a lot of shock so it doesn't leave your feet too annoyed. My second pair came with a manufacturer defect where the machine cut part of the tread wrong (cut too much off) and it's noticeable but I deal with it anyway.Overall great boots.

Woah be careful
September 2, 2017
Well traction is excellent except on black concrete/asphalt that's slick... was working through some rain landscaping and was walking down with trimmers thankfully they were off but I slipped as I went downhill right on my back lost my breathe for a few minutes and the trimmers dug into my arm though minor injury, be warned, I've been through a few timberlands and this was the cheapest at the time but also the least grip/traction
Doesn't live up to the Reviews
May 11, 2016
I rate these shoes as 3 stars for a variety of reasons:
-Sizing is off, I usually wear a Size 10, but the 10.5 was not nearly enough to comfortably fit my foot. The shoe seemed to disrupt blood flow if it wasn't tied very loosely. The Toe box felt small. These fit well for a certain type of foot it seems, and I just don't happen to have it.

-These shoes are heavy. I wear Military Combat boots and these boots outweigh them. Reading reviews of "I could hike in these all day!" make me skeptical that the person actually wore these for anything more than a walk around the park. On that note, the sole did provide great protection from the gravel and rocks I walk through everyday.

-I did not try these shoes on slippery/wet surfaces. I did not test the "Waterproof" claim either.

-The shoes looked really nice with some tan khaki pants, which was why I initially bought them.

I did not receive these boots for free in exchange for a review as many others who posted about this product. I decided to return these boots as even wearing them once a week was not a enjoyable experience for me.
Nice boots but cheaply made!!!
November 28, 2014
I got this boots from here because I read some positive reviews. My husbands shoe size is a nine but I read that that they run small so I got half size bigger.Anyway I received them last week and my husband wore them 2 times to work and the day we got snow.So only 3 times and the glue came off the front. I am so disappointed because I had already thrown the box in the trash and how can I return them without a box. I hope this review helps others. This was my experience with my defective pair.
"2E" is Not "W"
August 4, 2014
I was expecting a "2E" boot that was wider than a "D", which it was, but since there was no option for a 4E I took a chance it would fit. Inside the tongue it gives its' width as "W." The boot, although long enough, was somewhat narrow across the ball of the foot. I've had better luck with Hi-Tech boots in this regard so I returned the Timberlands and I'm waiting for a pair of Hi-Tech light weight hiking boots. If there wasn't free shipping both ways, in both cases, I wouldn't attempt getting shoes online. The boot looked well constructed and that's why I gave it three stars. Just not wide enough for my feet.
Could be better
February 28, 2014
I have wide feet so I went for the 9 2E size. The boot fit perfectly and didn't require much to break into them. Bought this because of the reviews on being a great hiking boot. They were right on the money. I hiked every other weekend for about 4 months and it didn't disappoint. I loved how I was able to bend my ankles comfortably during my hikes; especially while rock scrambling. If this boot was that great for hiking, why not for work in construction. Again this boot didn't disappoint. I was stressing the limits of this boot; I worked 6 days week and sometimes hiked on the 7th.
Everything was fine until about 7 months later. The rubber tip on one of the boots, that protect your toes in the front, began to peel away from where it connects with the leather material. I do light construction where I walk on even surfaces 80% of the time and I didn't expect this to happen, especially for a Timberland product. This started happening 7 months after I bought this product and 3 months after I stopped hiking. So I would have expected the peeling as a result of hiking, not from construction.
The boot is entering it's 10th month of service and used only for work. The tip didn't peel off to the point where it's dangling. It's still functional and doesn't appear to peel any further.
To conclude my review, I would still recommend this boot. But only for occasional beginner to intermediate hikes and not as work boots.

Not happy with them
September 2, 2017
Boots not as wide as expected, hurting my feet after a week or so. Not happy with them.
Nice boots but small fit.
June 14, 2017
I like the boots, but turns out that sizes between different cat boot models are different. I bought a 8.5w 2nd shift plain soft toe pair since I have a 8.5w Founders, but the new ones were too tight. Checked the sizing guide and the number was right, but at the end fitting is different. Once I stretch my new boots (using a shoe last) I will use them.UPDATE: I send the boots to a shoe repair and they used a shoe last (Big one, metallic, with knobs and stuff) to stretch them alittle. Today I received them and voila, now they fit like the others. I will maintain the 3-star rating because the soil is too hard, not very confortable.
I'm hard on boots in the produce delivery business so any time I get more than 6 months outta a pair I stick with them till they
January 10, 2016
didn't get to wear this pair but the previous pair I own I'm still wearing and there going strong just need to replace cause of the worn soles after 2 years I bought them at a brick and mortar store for less than 100 that's why I jumped on these for less than 60 , I'm hard on boots in the produce delivery business so any time I get more than 6 months outta a pair I stick with them till they fail or the quality changes the boots are just like the motors built to last igave this 3 stars because when I sat these next to my ole pair they seemed to be equals as far as designs and quality like I said I didn't wear these as they were to narrowe for my foot that was my mistake
Made in vietnam. Runs a little large.
December 5, 2015
Bought these boots because timberland keeps going up in price and I only get a year out of them if that. Timberland to me are no longer worth what they charge. At half the cost, I am willing to give caterpillar a try. I wear a 10.5, but when these boots came in they were a little on the large size. Gonna keep them anyway for work around the house and order a size 10 for work. Not sure yet if they will be as comfortable as the timberlands. These boots were made in vietnam if you can believe that crap. Sure that helps with them being so cheap.
Meh
October 15, 2015
Let's start with the positives:-They fit well if a little snug width wise.(I got them in the wider size)-Good price $70ish with tax-They are holding up much better than my previous pair of work boots(Timberland PRO Hyperion started falling about after a couple months)-Keep my feet dryThe cons:-These aren't comfortable for me to wear all day and leave me with aching feet at the end of the day(The purchase of better insoles helped alleviate this)-There was a piece of leather that stuck out on the inside of the right boot that pressed against my foot and was irritating until I cut the extra bit off-The grip is not great in comparison to my last pair of boots. I have to be much more careful on slick surfaces and can still have a close call. These boots are just okay. They'll do the job I need them to do if not as comfortably or as sure footed as I'd like.
Not As Good As I Thought
December 25, 2013
This Cat boot is a fairly decent boot but I was expecting a bit better. The materials are middle of the road and the construction very good. Yet, the soles on these boots are the not as good as I wanted. Matter of fact, of all the boots I've owned over my life, that's a LOT of boots, these have the least amount of tread grip and their material has a slick quality. Maybe they are designed to climb around on Caterpillar machinery or the like, not concrete, wood, etc... They have almost zero arch support, like most boots any longer but I thought Cat would put out a real working man's boot and these are not. I will wear these a while and then buy another boot with a higher price point with hopes of getting what I need. If you are buying these for occasional use, they are perfect. If you are buying these for outdoor work, DON'T. If you sit on your butt all day in a dozer, buy them. If you work as a mechanic on a dozen DON'T. The sizing for me was spot on at a wide 10.

Not so easy return for defective manufacturing.
July 31, 2017
4 months of wearing these to mow my lawn and other yard work, these are falling apart. No scuffs or tears in the boot, pretty light use and Amazon would not exchange these. I am having to pay shipping to send these to Danville, KY to get an exchange. 3-4 weeks without boots. It won't kill me but it is a good argument to buy footwear locally.
Comfortable Boot, But.....
January 18, 2017
Very nice boot, seemingly well made and tough. I added an aftermarket padded insole and was immediately able to walk over 7 miles, three days in a row without a break-in period.

HOWEVER, after just my fourth day of wearing these boots one of the riveted eyelets on the left boot broke and came out of the leather hole, so now I have to take it to shoe repair to get fixed (hopefully). If they can't fix it reasonably I'm sending them back.

A shame because these are very comfortable boots. I should not have to pay for a repair because of shoddy craftsmanship.

I'll revise the review as this issue progresses.
13 EE IS NOT 13 W
February 12, 2015
Overall disappointed with the boot. It is waterproof so far but the fit leaves a lot to be desired. I ordered a EE boot, but what arrived was a boot marked 13W. So I'm thinking... shouldn't a boot that is supposed to be EE be a least a WW and not just W.

If you are a EE size do not, I repeat do not order these boots. They also seem a bit light weight to be considered "hiking" boots. Not what I consider a Timberland boot to be like at all. Start building them in the USA again...much better overall quality.

If my photo is included in this review the boot on the left is a medium not a wide fit.
Soles wore out quickly
February 5, 2015
I purchased a pair just over six months ago.

Initially, as with any leather shoe, it's a bit uncomfortable until you break them in. After that period these shoes were very comfortable.

They're waterproof as well. I often take my dog down to a river to play and occasionally I step in it or walk through wet/muddy fields and these shoes kept my feet dry and that's a lot better than the waterproofing on my last, non-Timberland, boots.

The problem, and the reason for the two stars, is that the soles wore out quickly. If you look at the shoe you can see that there's that foamy-comfortable section and the harder, more durable rubber section of the shoe on the very bottom. In 6 months time I've worn through the "durable" rubber section down to the foamy section of the sole. These are my everyday shoes and I use them for hikes, etc. Had it been 12months out and I had seen this then I'd just accept it being an everyday shoe and things wear out. At 6 months, though, it seems premature. I could definitely see the tread wearing off in that time but I shouldn't see the foamy section of the sole through the bottom of the durable section.

As it is, I've ordered a different pair of boots and, hopefully, I'll get a year out of them.

I would have given this shoe just one star but it does get an extra star for actually being waterproof and comfortable. It's only fault, and I find it a big one, is the non-durable rubber sole.
Short Lived-Boots Retired After 3 Months!
September 17, 2014
First off, I am an avid hiker and works as a backpacking guide. I often recommend any shoe that is waterproof and has a full leather body. As typically those boots last and retain their waterproofing if properly cared for as compared to shoes using fancy fabrics. I put a lot of miles on my shoes and expect a lot. I am lucky if a pair of shoes last me 3 seasons! That said, reading the reviews I had high hopes for these boots. Upon arrival they fit great, and felt at home on the trail in any conditions. 3 months later the shoe has begun de-laminating from the sole, the sole is worn significantly. I take proper care of my boots, applying mink oil on a monthly basis and inspecting them during the process. When I first began wearing these boots, I raved about them recommending them to clients. Unfortunately with their short life span I will steer people clear of these boots. I will unfortunately go back to my higher end boots, and would recommend the same for anyone who demands a lot from their shoes.

The construction of the boot seems to be really good, but the sizing just isn't there for me
February 2, 2017
I bought this as a daily boot for use in an office environment where there is a lot of time on my feet. I have to go up and down stairs and between buildings constantly. I normally need wide sizes for my shoes, so I ordered the 10W to accommodate my foot. Unfortunately after a few months the shoe has still not "broken in" enough to be wide enough for me. It squeezes my pinky toe and makes a hotspot on the outside of the ball of my foot. The construction of the boot seems to be really good, but the sizing just isn't there for me. If I were to get a 10.5W, I'm sure it would be wide enough but then would have too much back and forth room. I don't think most guys have my wide foot problem, so I would still recommend it for people with normal width feet.
Sizing has changed this year
August 17, 2016
Over the past years I have worn through two pairs of these boots. They had provided great support and comfort from day 1. When I ordered the same model and size this time, the fit was much too tight. I had a replacement pair sent with the same result. I ended up getting the wide version to fit this time, but it is not nearly as comfortable as the previous two pairs were.
These boots are painful!
December 27, 2015
Maybe my expectations were too high after reading about these boots, but they are VERY uncomfortable! They are sturdy and seem like they could take a beating, if you could stand to wear them long enough to get anything done. I tried breaking them in while doing yard work, but they hurt my feet. I'm a girl, so typically men's boots provide a ton of width for me. But these rubbed the sides of my feet around the area where the ball of the foot is. Also, there is no padding in the soles. It's akin to walking on wood. I've tried putting in some Dr Scholl's gel inserts to see if that helps.
Okay... But Water soaks in...
November 19, 2014
So I wanted a Decent pair of boots to do some work outside... Worked great, until it started to rain lightly. I was outside maybe an hour in this light rain and when I went inside my house and took them off, my socks were wet, Only around the toes. I thought maybe my feet were sweaty, but I honestly didn't work up a sweat while I was outside. I shoved my hand down the boot and found that the front area was damp and when I pressed down I could feel a little water... not sure if its faulty, or maybe it is caused by the stitching. Anyways be Cautious. I do think these boots will work well for me during the summer, but during snow and rain its a no go.
Not the best for those with high arches

My husband didn't like these boots for a couple of reasons (we are returning them at this point.)1) The toe box seemed narrow and short on the regular-width size. A roomier toe box would have been much more comfortable. (FWIW, my husband doesn't wear a wide in any other shoe - and with the multiple reviews stating these shoes ran big anyway we were loathe to get a wide size.)2) The support structure in the heel seemed too short, and was hitting/rubbing against the back of his ankle when walking. Too tall for a regular shoe, not tall enough for a boot.As many other reviews stated, these suckers are HARD when they first arrive - presumably they would have softened up with wearing, but we won't know since we're returning them. They do appear to be very well constructed and are surprisingly lightweight. Bummer the fit just wasn't right.
A $45 pair sold at a much higher price.

I've been wearing this pair for a bit of time now and I think that my feet have just got use to dealing with the discomfort these boots cause. They are still very rigid, there has never been adequate cushion and the tongue isn't long enough to lace the boots using the highest hook without having the lace rub sock or skin. So far, it's still a very uncomfortable pair of boots and I feel this pair was not worth the $67.84 paid. This is the first pair of Caterpillar boots I've bought and will probably be the last. I don't mind a profit if the product's price matches the quality, but it seems with these that it's big, yellow lettering that's being purchased and not quality. I got more for my money with Kodiak.

Metal shoelace bracket ripped out on Hike #5, terrible quality.

What started out as an amazing boot that was heavy-duty, light-weight, very comfortable and waterproof unfortunately turned into a disappointment. I have worn these boots on 5 day hikes and was very impressed with their grip and feel but as I went to lace my boots up by pulling on the strings to force them tight, the top shoelace bracket on the right side came flying off.

I'm extremely disappointed that a solid piece of metal came flying out of the boot because I really enjoyed these. I wouldn't recommend these hiking boots to anyone - very low quality and it really is a shame.
Do not but these boots!

I bought 1 pair for Christmas for my son-in-law who had a pair like this in the past which he liked very much. The first time he put them on one of the cleats at the top broke off. He returned them but had so much trouble trying to get a replacement we finally asked for a refund. So I ordered a second pair at a much higher price and the same issue occurred with them. When he tried to return them he was told they were out of the return period even though they were defective. Therefore I do NOT recommend these boots or this seller.
Seems like the sealant was not properly contained

I have been using timberland boot for the last 20 years and they really last. This one I bought and kept it as a backup since I was travelling internationally, when I started using it, just after a few uses I discovered that a black ooze was leaking from the sole near the heal, it was sticky and messing socks, trousers and anything that touched it. Seems like the sealant was not properly contained.

I just bought another one yesterday, to replace the same. Never had to discard a timberland shoe within three months of starting its use, normally they last years.
They fell apart!!!

With-in two weeks one of the rivets for the eyelet came off, the left toe rubbed really bad and after a month I could not wear the boots anymore. I usually have really good experiences with Timberlands, but these just suck. DO NOT BUY THESE!!!
never buy again

I have a Landscape business and this is the second pair I have bought. Don't ask me why. Both pairs lasted about 2 months and my feet were wet all the time. The soles come off at the front.

I used these boots when I was a material handler for an electrical company. I was on my feet all day carrying material back and forth. My first day on the job was really only a half day of work after drug testing/orientation. A half day was all I needed to know this was not these torture devices were not for me. My feet hurt so bad they felt like they were going to bleed. I went to boot barn and picked up a pair of Georgia boots for the next day (I highly recommend Georgia boots). The heel was the main problem for me. Don't risk it because you will regret it. Get some Georgia's.
not so good

I ordered those for my husband for work, fit was good but those shoes gave him terrible sores on he's feet and ankles after just one time of wearing them, he also complained that those shoes made his feet itch like crazy. will return them.

Horrible craftmanship. They literally started falling apart 1month of me using them in my demanding outdoor job.
The most uncomfortable pair boots I've ever worn.
March 25, 2017
They have a very thin insole that is glued in place. I felt like I was walking barefoot on concrete. My feet were sore after every time I wore them. After a few months, I tried to remove the insoles to place in new ones from my sneakers as they would not fit on top of the glued-in insole. I could not get the entire insole out as they tore around the toes.I finally had enough and threw the boots away and bought a real pair of Danner work boots. You get what you pay for.
Not quite what I was looking for

These are the most uncomfortable boots I have ever owned. It feels like I'm walking on wood. I bought those 50 dollar Walmart insoles to help out but my feet feel like I have been standing on rocks all day. I lay asphalt for a living so the only positive is that the soles are hard as a rock.
I don't like this one
