Five Star Reviews: | 84% MATTE FINISH!! October 10, 2017 For a few years I have been enthralled by the “new” matte finish that I started seeing. I’m SO HAPPY that this one is that matte finish and this stand is everything I could hope it would be! I love it! (The bin I bought from someone else and it made for this stand) My favorite stand October 9, 2017 I love Manhasset stands - not expensive and they do their job. Not too heavy to move around. I wondered when they switched from a metal hinge to a plastic hinge if I'd like it but actually I think I like it better. None have broken and they grip the platform portion of the stand well. A Classic and Easy to Assemble September 28, 2017 Excellent stand, just like I remembered from high school and college. There are no directions on assembly, but it takes all of 2 minutes. You will need a wrench to remove the locking nut and a flat head screw driver to attach the head. I'm 6'3 and this stand rises high enough that I can use it without looking down at the music. Best music stand! December 27, 2016 Manhasset stands and the best music stand to buy. Two of my daughters had a gig that was going to be at an art festival by a lake and it was going to be a windy day. I purchased a couple of these from a music store at $9 more at a music store since they were needed the same day. The stands were great and never moved with the wind. This stand was purchased for my 3rd daughter who kept borrowing one of these stands from her sister. Absolute best stand to buy! Highly recommend! Would buy again! December 9, 2015 This is an excellent music stand - simply, stable, and sturdy! We bought our first one 5 years ago, then a 2nd one 3 year ago, and now ready to buy another one as my 3rd child's music binder has gotten too heavy for our light weight foldable wire stand (yup it keeps falling off the stand!). Although it is sturdy, it is not heavy, like my 5-year old can easily lift it and move it to another room by himself. The head tilts and height is adjustable by just pushing down or pulling up by hand (but it does NOT go down by itself or when a super heavy binder is on it), very easy even for a child (no more "mom! I need your help lowering my stand!"). Will last a lifetime February 24, 2015 Very good quality music stand. I bought this after returning another much cheaper one that was wobbly and not made well. The base is steel, while the top is lightweight aluminum, so it's not as top heavy as it looks. This is so sturdy I can put a book and/or laptop up on the stand and it still feels solid. I have no doubt this music stand will last a lifetime. | 76% There are no reviews yet |
Four Star Reviews: | 11% A must for any musical family. December 10, 2016 A little more difficult to put together than I expected. You will need another person to hold the stick part while you loosen the bolt. Other than that, a great stand! My boys were so excited to have a good sturdy stand at home instead of the cheap broken folding stands that came with their instruments. This is a light music stand to carry around. ... July 25, 2015 This is a light music stand to carry around. After awhile, because i have a heavy book of music, it no longer would stay up without sliding back down. I will either have to reduce the music load or duct tape it in one position. Ready for music making April 1, 2015 This is, of course, a nice music stand. I got it because of the feet at the bottom and more stability. Unfortunately, the bottom screw would not loosen and I had to use locking pliers to do the job. The paint is scratched up (I did use a cloth to ad the pliers) but some spray paint will fix that. I'm happy. Good addition to our group. May 6, 2014 I purchased two of these stands for our gospel group. The only real problem I had was the fact that they don't disassemble. With traveling, this would be a plus, because we are limited on space. But the stand itself is good. They don't fall down easy when weighted with lots of music and I like that feature. If you're interested in purchasing a stand that will be left in one spot, this is the stand for you. Manhasset Stand March 14, 2012 I use the stand for practicing at home and thus it is not subject to much road wear. My approximately thirty five year old Manhasset stand seems sturdier. Some parts of the newer stand are now plastic as opposed to metal on the older one. I also have detected a intermittent vibration/rattle when this is placed on a hard wood floor. Overall though, I'd say it's okay. | 13% There are no reviews yet |
Three Star Reviews: | 2% Works ok, less stable at higher settings. December 11, 2015 This music stand works ok. The hight adjustment does not hold at the higher settings and gets more wobbly the higher it goes. Clips would be nice November 6, 2015 Holds the sheet music well... Wish it had clips to keep the papers from sliding off the stand Slides Down November 20, 2014 Doesn't handle much weight. If I put my workbook binder on it, it slides down. Pretty good, but... November 14, 2014 Have used Manhasset stands for over 35 years. Great stand but this one comes with a plastic mount to the telescopic neck. Wish it was metal like the others that I have... Neck Assembly Is Now Made Of Plastic August 14, 2014 I've used Manhasset stands for over 40 years and have always found them both functional and reliable. With that said, I was disappointed to find that the neck assembly (the piece that connects the desk portion to the stand shaft) is now made of plastic, not metal as with all the Manhasset stands I've had experience with in the past. That's the reason I only give this stand three stars and not five.I guess everyone is looking for ways to cut manufacturing costs, even with long-standing, tried-and-true designs. Time will tell as to whether this will have any effect on the durability of the stand. For an individual performer like me, it may not be a factor; however, if you're buying several of these for a school music program, that plastic neck assembly may prove to be a point of failure under heavy use. | 4% There are no reviews yet |
Two Star Reviews: | 1% This stand has a chrome metal pole that goes into ... November 22, 2016 This stand has a chrome metal pole that goes into the hollow, black, vertical pole which is attached to the heavy three-pronged stand base . To adjust the height you simply pull or push on the chrome metal pole. Problem is the engineering of the chrome metal pole allows the chrome metal pole to rattle against the black one at the slightest touch. Very noisy. Manhasset stands are the best you can buy March 8, 2016 I'm a musician, and so yes: Manhasset stands are the best you can buy. However. I don't like that the neck assembly here is made of plastic. It certainly feels more flimsy. Second - it was WAY too hard to assemble this. The bolt in the base is overtightened. I had to do as another reviewer suggested and stand on it while using a ratchet to loosen the bolt. The screwdriver in the neck was also too tight. Assembly shouldn't have been that difficult. Hard to assemble April 13, 2015 This was really hard to assemble. I didn't realize you needed a special wrench to put it together. The bolt was really tight. I was eventually able to get it assembled. Once assembled, it met my expectations. It's fine IF you have a full set of hardware wrenches February 21, 2015 It's fine IF you have a full set of hardware wrenches. You know, the tools crew have that most musicians don't.This will support light sheets of music. It won't support a music book if it is very heavy, before telescoping back down.If you are not a mechanic, are a real musician and don't have tools other than those for your instrument, you might look elsewhere.Oh, and after all the heavy metal and use of wrenches, the part that connects the stand to the top is plastic. Go figure. Dispointed - Height not adjustable October 19, 2014 Height is not adjustable. For the price it is not acceptable. | 1% There are no reviews yet |
One Star Reviews: | 2% One Star October 30, 2017 the feet are made of strong steel which are very sharp, scratched my hardwood floor badly Not for professional musicians September 27, 2017 Missing extension, bulky, extremely hard to adjust while on stage - unless you have pliers with you... returned the item. COMPLETELY USELESS April 12, 2016 Unable to loosen the bolt at the bottom of the shaft, which is needed to put the stand together. Not sure why it is tightened so tight; it only needs to hold a few parts together for shipping. I got the package on time. However, I ... November 13, 2015 I got the package on time. However, I cannot believe that there was NO shaft in the package!!! Besides, the angle between the Desk and Desk's lip is more than 90 degree! Holy Smoke! | 6% There are no reviews yet |
