MeasuPro Wireless Bicycle Computer, Speedometer, Odometer, Calorie Tracker, and Heart Rate Monitor upgrade.
January 16, 2016
I recently purchased the MeasuPro Wireless Bicycle Computer, Speedometer, Odometer, Calorie Tracker, and Heart Rate Monitor as a replacement for my Mountain Bike's Computer. The MeasuPro Wireless Bicycle Computer out performs any other Computer out there. I really like the lighted blue screen, easy to use and read. The installation was straight forward and precise. The Heart Rate Monitor works as expected and the sending unit is barely noticeable. The MeasuPro Wireless Bicycle Computer goes into a Sleep Mode when idle to prolong battery life.
Works great
December 28, 2015
This is actually the second one we purchased, the first was a gift to me and I enjoyed enough I bought one for my daughter. Both installed easily and even though to takes a lot of button pushing to program it we have found that it works fine. I have never used the heart rate monitor because I have an Apple Watch that does that if needed. I'm not racing or anything so it really doesn't matter to me. I guess since the heart rate is a big advantage to this particular model I may have needed to shop harder, I just bought this one for her since my daughters had bought me the same one. If it doesn't work at first (we had that problem) then check to see if the wheel sensor is close enough to the little magnet you install on the spoke, they almost have to touch. The included batteries were almost dead on both of ours but replacements are cheap and easy to find. One last thing, not sure which device is off here, but I have used my Apple Watch and Strava app on iPhone, all three are off from each other on distance. Since I am just using this as a guide to how much I have gone for exercise sake then I don't care, it's off by maybe 1% and I could probably tweak that by adjusting programmed wheel circumference if it really bothered me.So if I have the Apple Watch app and Strava on iPhone why do I even have this? Because it stays on all the time, no need to turn on phone screen or look at watch, this is just so easy to glance down to check speed and/or mileage.
Great Value!
September 13, 2015
I was searching for a cycling computer that just displayed current speed and heart rate, as that was all I wanted to track. Most of the units that would do this are about $100 and also track another 2 or 3 items which makes the display numerals smaller and difficult to read at a glance. The MeasurePro was exactly what I was looking for and at a third of the price, a great value. As others have pointed out the instructions are terrible but after decades of using other bike computers I was able to work my way through. I think the most confusion is in setting up the tire circumference. This web page will help:http://www.berkshiresports.org/index.php?ID=bikecomputertiresizecalculatorI also found that if you tap the set button once the display will show max speed and heart rate, tap it twice and you will see average speed and heart rate. My only complaint is the attachment system for the heart rate strap. The plastic ends are not very robust and do not appear that they will last a long time. Also it takes a few tries to securely fasten the strap.I am very happy with the MeasurePro unit and would purchase again.
Happy Customer!

Installation on my Catrike was somewhat tricky because the wireless sensor is a bit bulkier than the typical wired sensor that the mounting bracket was designed for so I had to put on a different bracket. Also, the magnetic pick-up installation on the spoke did not seem very secure so I recycled one from an old Planet Bike computer. But it was worth the effort because I am really pleased with the large, clear, display and have had fun monitoring my heart rate. For the price, this is a great bike computer!
Easy to read HR monitor and excellent customer service.
August 18, 2015
I was looking for an easy to read heart rate monitor. I already had a built in computer system with my Haibike but it did not have the HR feature. The MeasurPro is perfect. It is very easy to read even with dark riding glasses both in the shade and sun. The narrow chest strap is much better than the standard wide straps found on other HR monitors. It is easy to put on and confortable to wear. The only downside is there is no HR history that can be pulled up at the end or a ride. I would have like to have a target zone and then know how much time I spent in that zone and what my high numbers might be, so I took one star off. The range is great, I can step away perhaps 20 feet and still have the pickup working. For the price it does most of what I wanted.Product update, 3 month. I accidentally lost the monitor from my handlebars ??? I called customer service to see if I could just get a replacement unit and they were more than helpful and courteous - sent me a brand new unit at no cost or questions asked. I was very pleased and surprised at how courteous the customer service rep was and now back to measuring my biking progress. I highly recommend this computer.
Installation tip
July 12, 2015
My wife purchased this item and after installing it it worked fine for about 3 rides when it quit working. We moved the sensor and magnet down closer to the center of the wheel where we thought we could get the pickup closer to the magnet with no luck and changed the battery. My wife's bike has high handle bars and she already had a light and iPhone mounted so she had this computer up higher on her handle bars so it turned out the transmitter and receiver were too far apart. You need to mount the transmitter as close to the outer edge of the wheel and the receiver as close as possible t the transmitter and it seems to work again.

This is a great bike computer.I replaced my wireless units with these because my bike lights interfered with the wireless units. Simple and the batteries last forever. Make sure you wrap thecomputer cable around the front brake cablecable around the brake cable
Should have bought this first...
April 14, 2017
I thought the wireless bike computers would be pretty cool. I bought one that was DOA and another that was impossible to understand the instructions and never worked properly. I bit the bullet and bought this wired one. It was easy to set up and worked properly at the first turn of the wheel. I wasted time and money on the cheapo wireless units. I should have bought this first...
This works fine and is not at all difficult to install
April 12, 2017
This works fine and is not at all difficult to install. I miss that it doesn't have a function to rotate the different values while I am riding. I had that with my old one (which I broke).
Excellent! Accurate, Durable, and Cheap!
September 2, 2016
Great product for the price point. I used this on my 50 day Cross-America bicycle tour. The computer exceeded expectations, performing very accurately, and always working (e.g., no malfunctions, battery failures, troubles with weather/rain). Setting up the computer was fairly easy (this was my first time ever setting up a computer, so it took me a little while to figure things out), but once everything was set correctly, it measured distance incredibly accurately - comparable within .25 of a mile with my peers' Garmin GPSs.Before purchasing this computer, I debated between a wired or a wireless computer. After reading numerous reviews regarding the inconsistency of wireless computers, I opted this route - and can't imagine ever going back. The computer performed perfectly and I'm sure it will for a long time to come.
Accurate, simple and attractive
September 29, 2014
Bought a pair of Velo 9 bike computers, one for my bike and another for my wife's. Installation was fairly simple once I had reread the instructions several times. Since it's sold in America why not just print a simplified English instruction sheet on a single page with wording for each step instead of wordless drawings on one sheet and poorly connected instructions on another? Wire lengths were more than adequate. The combination of plastic wire ties & double faced adhesive strips make for a fairly solid & light weight installation of the computer on our handlebars and the proximity sensor on the inside of our front forks. We've no complaints in the performance department. Installed a month ago, both computer's keep accurate time. The speedometer function is well calibrated once the wheel diameter is programmed into the unit and both units consistently read the same. Trip and cumulative mileage functions equally work well. The carbon footprint and caloric consumption feature is pretty useless since they don't take into account things like our individual body weight, head winds, tail winds, inclines & declines, temperature and total crank effort. I suppose we could have purchased the Velo 7 units that don't include those functions, but the Velo 9 was priced less. We have riding companions that have wireless bike computers and were prompted by their complaints to specifically get this hard wired model.
Does what it says on the tin
September 8, 2014
The Cateye Velo 9 was easy to install with no tools required thanks to its utilization of zip-ties and double sided tape. Had it ready to go in 15 minutes and, so far, I've done 60 very stable kilometers with it. I would've complained about the quality of the mounting materials but it hasn't moved one bit and is easy to read (except for situations where there's zero lighting, you might want to invest in something with a backlight if you're cycling in badly lit areas).

Highly recommend!

This has been a really great product. I've had it and used it regularly for about a year. What I love:It securely snaps into place and remains there. It's easily removable. It has both an odometer and "trip" odometer. Both can be reset at any time. The same applies to time ridden and calories burned. The clock has been a feature I've found very convenient. It's displayed, even on sleep mode. The HRM is a useful add-on. I don't always wear it, but it's a nice feature.Like the listed product says, it's fully wireless. The battery lasts forever. I still haven't replaced it.A couple minor issues:The writing on the "mode" and "set" buttons wears off fairly quickly. Not the end of the world. If you've gotten to that point, you've used them enough to know their functions anyway. On rare occasions, the magnetic sensor attached to the bike's fork is a bit finicky and won't immediately register with the display, despite being fully aligned with the magnet. Usually a minor adjustment fixes the issue.Very pleased over all with the purchase. In fact, I'm thinking of getting another for my second bike!
Almost Perfect
September 23, 2015
I like everything about this product, except for a mistake I made mounting it to the bike. They only give you two ties to fasten the monitor base to the handle bar. Its a 50/50 shot at getting it right so it either gets installed correctly or 90 degrees wrong. So if you get it wrong, then you have to cut the lock ties off, and if you have no more ties, then you have to go order some on Amazon for $5 because Measure Pro too cheap to provide one or two extra pair of lock ties which add nothing to the cost of goods sold.Functionally it operates real simply. Just know what your tire's circumference is in centimeters ahead of time. I had to contact Cannodale because my lame Bike Shop (The Hub in Roseville) did not know nor would take the time to provide good customer service since they already took my money.I have not used the heart monitor yet because of the lock ties. I will update latere.
Best bang for your buck on a heart monitor and speedometer plus biking distance tracker
August 12, 2015
I don't want to call this computer a faulty instrument nor do I want to have it labeled average; for the reason only being that the heart rate electrode would not pick up my heartbeats on occasions. The manual does say to wet it for effective contact and operation, however you must have to make sure it is in contact with your chest between the navel and breast. It's pretty well made. Nonetheless, the readings of the heartbeats are very accurate and it does pick up your beats most of the time.On another note, installation wasn't a breeze, but considering that I am a complete newbie to installing even the simplest things, I made mistakes with 2 of ziplocks provided because of improper placement of the sensor, so I had to purchase a few more, which can be found at any local convenience store for cheap. Also, after having a 35-mile bike commute, I found out the speedometer does an a good job overall. For best accuracy, I highly recommend setting the sensor as close to the magnet as much as possible without it being struck by the spokes. I also had to convert the wheel size measurement to my bicycle's 700x28 tires. This can easily be done by multiplying the value of Pi or 3.14159 times the diameter in centimeters, which equates to your total wheel circumference AKA wheel size -- Another point to consider: You will get the wrong readings if you don't set the proper wheel size for your MeasuPro computer. What else can I say? Not perfect, but can be configured very accurately to your bike and it does everything I want it to. And for the price it's given, it's a steal.
Works well and easy to install, a real bargain for this price.
July 5, 2015
It only took me about 10 minutes to install and configure (note that you should find out your wheel rollout before configuring the computer, but you can find it out online), and everything was up and running (well, cycling). It may take a few minutes to get adjusted to the chest heart-rate monitor, but it feels pretty comfortable and works perfectly. The display shows you the current and average heartrate and calory count, in addition to avg/max/current speed, odometer and trip, and you also have a backlite when pressing one of the buttons. The device feels pretty sturdy, although the mounting for the sensor (installed on the fork) could be better.Cons:- there are a many display modes and only two buttons, so navigating between the different displays and finding the right one could require some learning.- the backlight is turned off too fast and is activated only when pressing the MODE buttons (which also change the display), which makes finding the right display while cycling in the dark a bit difficult.
MeasurPro CC200 Bike Computer
July 3, 2015
Updated my review on 7/28/2015 from 3 star to 4 star. Have used the bicycle computer on three rides and it works well, really like the heart monitoring feature. Initial review: I too was frustrated that I had to go online to figure what the acronyms were so that I could set it up. The instructions are for somebody that works in a bike shop and not your average person. Good thing I had extra zip ties since they either broke or I installed the screen 90 degrees off because the instructions were not that clear. I hope the screen display does not fall off since it does not appear to attach very firmly to the mount, I can easily lift it off the mount. Very disappointed that it only goes to age 65. Hope it works better than the install.
Nice product, horrible instructions.
June 29, 2015
I bought this primarily to measure speed and distance. I usually ride with my 7 year old daughter so, I'm not too concerned with my heart rate.PROs: Installation was easy with the included zip ties. Batteries were included and pre-installed. No wires to route.CONs: The magnet mount seems a little flimsy. I anticipate it falling off during a ride. Set up instructions are not very detailed. There are acronyms used with no explanation what they mean. During multiple attempts to set up the unit, I noticed that if you need to go back and change something, it clears everything and you have to start over. Also, no where in the instructions does it state that "wheel size" means your wheel circumference. I had to go read some of the reviews to get that information.OVERALL: Once it is installed and setup, it works just like it's supposed to. I would recommend to a friend with a side note to get with me when they're ready to set it up.

I have used 5 different brands, like the Cateye wheel magnet better than any others. I have Cateyes still working 10 years later. Good value. They have some displays w/ larger numbers on other cateyes I like better, but at double the price.
it seems like a good gadget
July 24, 2017
It seems to work well, but the instructions that came with it were a joke. I really don't need pictures that don't explain much. I need words that tell me what to do. I ended up having to google setting the time on it to figure that out. Other than that, it seems like a good gadget. Seems like they could've come up with a better attachment device than zip ties, however.

January 5, 2017
Been using this computer since the Fall and love it. Easy to install if you give yourself adequate time to actually enjoy doing it properly and accurately, so you get consistently good display output. Mine has never hiccuped. I love the halt feature where it stops when you do, and resumes when you do. I have a riding route where I bike out 6.2 miles to visit my Mom's grave. I stop for several minutes, and it waits and resumes when I climb back onboard and return home. It has several operating modes and display options, although I find I use just one or two most of the time. I haven't figured out if it has a "Stop" feature, so you can capture a finish time on a route, but continue to ride for a cooling down period. It might not be able to distinguish this, or I just haven't figured out how to do that. So, I just remember my finish time and write it down when I go back in the house afterwards. Very competitively priced. Mounts easily and stays in place very well, and does not slip or move. Handles rain like a champ. Highly recommended.
Good computer but mount not secure enough
August 4, 2015
I really like this product, it worked well for measuring mileage and speed measurements, which is all I really care for. The only issues I had are the plastic over the display scratches easily, mine was looking beat up after a couple weeks, and more importantly the mount does not hold the unit as securely as it should. It unexpectedly came out of the mount twice, once I found it on the ground where I wiped out, and the second time I was just riding dirt trails and didn't even know it came off until I looked down and saw an empty mount. Sucks that I'm now about to drop another $25 on a replacement. So yeah, the computer itself is fine but the mount needs a better design to hold the unit more securely.
Mounting bracket could be better.
July 25, 2015
Like this bike computer a lot. It seems to work very well and is quite accurate. The only problem with it is that the unit does not have a "catch" on the mounting bracket to keep it from falling off when you are riding over rough terrain. I have had to go back and look for it twice, and finally used electrical tape to attach it to the mounting bracket.
Install was straight forward but can't turn it on! ...
August 13, 2014
Install was straight forward but can't turn it on! Why? Because the battery came with ZERO voltage. Yup a 3 year Panasonic battery deader than dead. Checked it with my fluke 789 process meter I use for work every day. I will have to update this review after I get a chance to go out to the store and buy a new battery for a shiny new bike computer.that currently does... Nothing!***UPDATE!!So took it on 25 mile ride today and it did great! After I had to go to a store and spend 5 bucks on a new battery. (This 2032 battery type is supposed to last 10 years on the shelf so don't know what how old it was in shelf years before I got it.)I had got this just so I could track speed, total miles, and trip miles and because the unit is small enough to go in my pack and large enough to read easily. I could see the display great even under shady trees with my polarized shades ;-)Moving thru the menu and setup was a breeze you will just need something small to hit the reset button and set button on the back.I have 29"X 2.2 Tires on my mountain bike which are not in the Auto setup selection but when you measure it out it comes to 230 CM it takes whole numbers so truncate the decimal for those who like to be exact.I had 3 other bikers on the trip out of the 9 who had different bike computers and GPS biking apps and after 25 miles we were all within a 10th of a mile.I like the wired unit because it also does the Auto on and off it "should" save the battery this time. The mount on the handle bars is a little cheap but for under 20 why should I expect something bullet proof? I am going to get some handle grip wrap and put that under the mount.⇦another reviewer idea.SO 4 out of 5 stars in my book for the handlebar mount and the battery issue.

The design is cool. The main piece is small enough not much ...
November 30, 2015
The design is cool. The main piece is small enough not much bigger than a US quarter coin which makes it convenient to bring around on or off the bike. The sensor for heart rate is good enough within one metric meter (3.3 feet) beyond which it becomes intermittently functional. The chest trap is comfortable to wear all the time, only that the flexible plastic connections are easy to pop off. It would be more secure if it is hard plastic with a sheet pad to hide from the skin. The bike sensor is a bit weaker. I installed the wheel sensor assembly in the opposite position from the computer and it does not get the signal. So I'll have to move to the other side to get closer. The set up is straightforward. One feature missing is back light of the computer for use in dark. Minor: the package includes exactly 4 plastic clamps for mounting the device onto bike bar and forks. 2 extra ones should be included in case of breakage or changes. Overall, it is a nice device to have with the necessary functionalities. THE MOST BACKWARD ASPECT IS THE NON-SENSE INSTRUCTIONS which are extremely difficult. There are no glossary while all the parameters are in acronyms which are all embedded in the instructions difficult to find while the meter's setting mode automatically closes beyond short time so that you have to start allover again; the acronyms are NOT made of the 1st letters of the words so it is almost impossible to figure what they mean unless to find them embedded in the instructions. And the chart of setting up steps has VERY small prints that require a magnifier to read.
It's a love-hate relationship
October 27, 2015
It's a love-hate relationship with this device.I bought this item mainly for measuring heart rate while on my bike, so my complaints are mainly for the heart rate readings.I have used this heartmeter on 4 rides of lengths varying from 30 mi to 110 mi.Sometimes it works for tens of miles straight with no problem and gives good readings (although it's hard for me to judge its absolute accuracy but at least it is giving consistent readings). However, I've had too many moments when the device suddenly shows that my heart rate is 0 for half a minute or longer (scary but doubtful). Also, when going downhill on a slightly rough pavement I have seen prolonged skyrocketing readings (way above my max heart-rate at the time when I'm barely pedaling). I suspect that this is caused by the bumpiness of the road but it's only a theory. This behavior is rather annoying since I'm relying on its real-time feedback to adjust my pace.I tried tightening the strap and experimenting with adjusting it higher and lower, but these spurious readings continue to pop up every so often (I haven't tried swapping battery yet but I only used the device 4 times). As for speed readings, they tend to be more consistent than heart meter, although I notice that speed readings can be up to a few seconds late in response (which is understandable).
Cost effective with minor hiccups
October 13, 2015
For its cost, size, ease of setup, and features, it really can't be beat. I'm an avid cyclist but I usually know where I'm going ahead of time, so the lack of GPS didn't hinder my decision at all. And if you're just interested in a few simple stats and a heart monitor, it shouldn't deter you either. The instructions are lacking, but I like straight forward instructions that use correct spelling and grammar. So sue me. They want the magnet <5mm away from the transmitter/receiver and the computer close by as well. And it needs to be because apparently that signal is pretty weak. From what I found online, the magnet they use for the spoke is quite common, but the style scratched my black spoke. I also have somewhat irregular shaped forks and the magnetic receiver/transmitter's stability is shaky. It's easily moved with the slightest amount of force, usually away from the magnet, causing incorrect data. And then there are the occasional faults with the heart monitor like being at 240bpm while getting dressed for the ride that hasn't happened yet. I'm not that stressed out.Other than those occasional glitches, it functions. It just functions. And that's enough for me.*If you have anger issues, a short temper, or need perfectly accurate data to show off to your friends, DO NOT BUY THIS.
The heart monitor seemed like a cool feature
August 11, 2015
The heart monitor seemed like a cool feature, if only it worked. It likes to show my heart rate at 240 bps, even when I'm at rest. The back-lighting on mine also doesn't turn itself off. I have to remove the back cover and take out the battery if I want the back-light off, which of course then resets all my saved information. Needless to say, I'm not satisfied with this product and will be looking for an excuse to replace it with a good bike computer.
Good for the price but somewhat frustrating to install and use
July 29, 2015
I really wanted to love this MeasuPro bike computer, but I'm going to settle for "it works." If you want a reasonably priced bike computer with a built-in heart-rate monitor, this is the one for you. Just be aware that installing it and using it can be somewhat frustrating.First off, unlike so many other reviewers, I did NOT receive a free or reduced-cost model in exchange for my review. I paid the price available to anyone at Amazon. And here's my disclosure: The original sensor failed after about 40 miles of use, although MeasuRite sent me a replacement that works so far, after another 100 miles.I bought this bike computer to replace a six-year-old VDO, which still does everything right, except for the heart-rate measurement. Keeping an eye on my heart rate is important to me, because I start with a high resting rate, and if I push myself too hard on hills, my heart rate goes into the stratosphere. For some reason, manufacturers of bike computers, including VDO, no longer offer built-in heart-rate monitors at the below-$100 price point. Hence, my decision to buy the MeasuPro.Let me start with the good:1. The price is very reasonable.2. The heart-rate monitor portion seems to operate well, which was a primary motivation for my purchase. True, the chest strap attaches with a funky plug that's tricky to connect, but with a little practice, you can make it work. I have no clue why every chest strap manufacturer seems to use a different shaped plug. Over the years, I've gone through 3 or 4 brands, and because the plug shape differs with each of them, the chest strap from one can't be used with the elastic from any other.3. The clock seems to keep good time, which is sometimes not true of moderately priced bike computers. Here are the cons, roughly in the order I encountered them:1. The instructions are mediocre at best. In fact, a few word choices suggest they may have been written by someone for whom English is not a first language. (Not that there's anything wrong with that.) Regardless of language, there's a mistake in the way the base, the piece that's secured to the handlebars, is drawn in the instructions; you need to turn the base 90 degrees from the way it's shown in the picture to get the computer to lock in in the right direction.2. Others have mentioned that you need to measure the wheel circumference before starting, because if you start and go off to measure, the device will leave the settings mode. This is true, but to me, it's a very minor issue.3. The instructions don't explain why you would want four different heart-rate ranges, and it seems gratuitous to have to run through them on setup. Again, a minor issue.4. The data categories aren't organized well. I think most riders would want easy access to a few categories of data: ride time, distance, and average speed, all of which should be easily accessible. No such luck here. The MeasuPro makes you scroll through things like total ride time, odometer, and calories burned, just to see ride time and distance and to get back to the start. A well designed device would put ride time, distance, and average speed on the primary cycle and total ride time, odometer, and calories burned on a separate cycle. The MeasuPro does have a secondary cycle that gives you access to average speed along with maximum speed and average and maximum heart-rate. But average speed is a lot more important than those other categories, and it should have been put on the primary cycle.5. The instructions indicate that if you put the device in ride time mode, you can clear all data at once. But "all data" includes the odometer, which most riders would want to maintain. Clearing the odometer along with the other data, in my opinion, is a bizarre feature. The odometer should be very difficult to clear, in order to make sure you're doing it on purpose. With the MeasuPro, if you don't read the instructions carefully, you could be in for a big surprise. There's a workaround for this: In order to avoid clearing the odometer, you can clear each category individually, but you shouldn't have to do that. Making it easy to lose your odometer setting is a major flaw.6. When I "locked" the computer into the base, it didn't feel very secure, almost as if the device could pop out and get lost in an instant if I hit a bump. Nothing has happened so far, and I really don't expect it to, but it just doesn't have a very secure feel. My old VDO was much better on this count.7. I was eventually able to tighten the magnet on the spoke and the sensor on the fork far enough to ensure proper alignment, but the process was harder than it should be. If you have a nice bike, you don't want to take a chance on over-tightening the magnet and damaging your spoke or having to secure the sensor with tape and messing up your fork. As I said, it took a while, but all's well that ends well.8. When my original sensor stopped working, there was no website I could find where there's any troubleshooting information. So I looked at the instructions, which offered a customer service phone number and an email address. I emailed customer service, which was less than helpful. The first response asked me a series of questions that assumed I had no idea what I was doing, even though I mentioned I'd been using bike computers for 15 years. When I wrote back, I said that a reviewer at Amazon had recommended moving the sensor high up on the fork, and I asked if that would work. The response simply said, yes, if the sensor is too far from the computer, the computer won't be able to pick up the signal. Why the sensor is too weak to transmit an extra 2-3 inches wasn't explained. Fortunately for me, about two weeks after I bought the MeasuPro, I got an email from the company asking whether my "expectations" had been met. I responded with a no and copied the email thread with customer service, and I promptly was advised to request a replacement through Amazon. The replacement arrived, and all is well, subject to the reservations above.
Great for the price / heart rate monitor strap too small though
July 6, 2015
Very good, simple, easy to read speedometer and the backlight is a plus. Everything works well with the speedometer and heart rate monitor in terms of wireless connection but the downfall I've experience is the straps for heart rate monitor are very tight, even on the loosest setting resulting in me not being able to use the heart rate monitor. I am 6ft and weigh 185 lbs and have a medium muscular build and after using the heart rate monitor a few times I've now found that it won't stay on and the strap releases within a second or two of getting it on (better than having it come undone during my ride I guess?). I might end up seeing if I can permanently tape the straps to the monitor so they can't come undone but that will make it very interesting to get it on and off.If you have a very slender upper body you won't have a problem but if you have some muscle size up top in your torso/lat muscles you may have some issues. This was definitely designed for a slender cyclist in mind that likely weighs 165lbs max with not much upper body muscle size. I would highly recommend to the manufacturer to increase the size of the strap to fit people that have previously lifted weights and have some muscle size or in general or just a little larger.

It's ok, wish the sensor had a little more range or the magnet came with different mounting options. I had to modify the magnet that runs by the sensor because the stationary bike I was trying to put it on has such a limited area where it can be mounted and the inset of the wheel was too far away from the sensor.

It does the job. I am really not a fan of the one button interface, but it's not a huge hindrance. As other users have said, the mount is extremely cheap and not very secure. My handlebars have a bit of a curve to them, and the speedometer slips off of the double sided sticky tape and wobbling around. I had no problem with the length of the cord, as some people reported, but I'm sure that has to do with bike geometry. There is no way to re-enter the odometer mileage if the unit is reset or runs out of batteries, if you care about keeping a total running tally.
Serves my needs, kind of......

The display is easy to see. The calorie feature is bogus. I wear a Garmin 310 with a heart monitor when I ride,or run. The Velo 9 says I burn 207 kcal on a 50min ride with an avg. heart rate of 145. The Garmin shows I burn 807 calories. Not worth the extra money. Also I can't find if it Illuminates in the dark.
A good solid aid for the price
December 27, 2014
It works well and gives you a great deal of information concerning your bike ride. Of course, you had better be an engineer to put it on your bike. The instructions are not at all clear, and we had to go online to get clearer instructions as to how to attach this device. The calorie counter is not at all generous and comparing its values to several online counters for bike rides, it only measures 1/4 the calories every other counter measures. Don't know which is more accurate. Have only used on daytime rides and it is easily visible. Do not know if it is backlit for night rides. It is easy to reset but it does have to be reset after each ride. No memory so you would have to record the values for each of your rides.
Decent unit with a couple flaws
June 4, 2014
First, the good news, which outweighs the bad:The CatEye Velo 9 screen is large and easy to see. The single button operation to scroll through the displays is easy and fast. A long push on the same button will also serve to reset trip mileage and stats. Again, intuitive and easy. The unit reasonably accurate with the limited settings that a use needs to input to set it up. The automatic-ON capability is flawless; the computer senses when the wheel is moving and brings the unit up to full power. Otherwise, it eventually sleeps to save the battery and just shows the time like a watch. If you want a simple computer that fits your basic needs, then this unit pretty much fits the bill. The cost is also competitive. Now the few bad points. Let me say that ALL of the points could easily be addressed by CatEye without much expense. So the long-winded detail here isn't about being critical just to be mean to CatEye; I am going over these things so that customers know about them and CatEye may also wish to address them. The cord leading from the sensor to the mount is too short. The manual shows how to route the wire up the brake cable but there isn't quite enough length to do that properly as depicted. Thus, you will have to take less turns around the fork and the brake cables and the wire will be loose than it should be. (How expensive is it for CatEye to add another 8-12" of wire?)The mount for the computer is cheapo. It mounts to the handlebar or step with some lousy double-sided rubber sticker that tears easily and is further secured by two zip-ties. If you want to move it or remount it, well buy yourself more double sided rubber stickers and zip-ties, because these cannot be reused.Did I mention that the mount was cheap? Well, since the primary anchor are zip-ties, the unit isn't very resistant to rolling around the bars should you want to pop the computer on or off the mount, as it is designed to do. The rubber sticker isn't quite sticky enough to keep it from rolling under moderate pressure, even with the zip-ties pulled as tight as possible. Why not use a simple mount that secures to the bars with a plastic strap that tightens down with a little hand operated screw? You get six zip-ties. If you make a mistake or need to move the sensor after initially mounting it then head out to the store to buy yourself some replacements. Six is about enough to do the job correctly, so no room for error. Two for the sensor, two for the computer mount, and one or two for restraining the wires tight on the fork so they aren't loose and catching on stuff. The software needs improvements. First off, the calorie counter is worthless unless it takes account of the rider's weight and the weight of the bike. There is no way to do this so I assume the software just uses some kind of general estimate. Meaning a 300lb guy hauling a steel framed touring bike with panniers full of stuff is going to burn the same as a 155lb guy on a carbon frame road bike going up the same hill, according to the Velo 9. How hard is it to add these weight settings into the software? Maybe 3-4 lines of code I guess. Without this the calorie counter isn't much use, unless you happen to be exactly to whatever the default values are for the estimator. And those are not known.Speed and mileage calculations would also be improved by allowing a setting for a wheel roll-out length, as a more accurate option, instead of simply selecting a wheel size. Again, a simple change that wouldn't take much code. ****EDIT: 7/14/16 It was pointed out to me that the wheel roll out option IS indeed in the firmware AND the current manual. So I must have somehow missed this. Simply select tire sizes until you get the "205[ ]" display and select this, which will allow you to input the roll out length of your specific tire. Oh, and by the way, my unit is still running well years after purchase.

It could have been a great product, BUT....
February 2, 2016
While I love the features and the crystal clear, easy to read display, the setup instructions to input the personal data are the exact opposite: confusing, difficult (impossible for ME) to follow. I actually should have returned it, but I will keep attempting to make sense of it. It did install easily on my bicycle, and the display is easily removed from the bike to prevent theft. It could have been a great product, but is mediocre at best, and I would not recommend it to anyone.
Worse yet, wouldnt read from bike to wheel wireslessly

Looks cheap. Feels cheap. Held on bike with zip ties. Yes zip ties. Worse yet, wouldnt read from bike to wheel wireslessly. Guess it was too far it battery it came with too weak. Dont buy this ... Waste of money...

... asked for my review because I have had a terrible experience with this product
September 17, 2015
Shouldn't have asked for my review because I have had a terrible experience with this product.1st, there were no instructions for setting the wheel size. When I called, customer service was almost non-existent.2 nd, after the second time using it the back light came on and would not dis-engage. Had to remove the battery and reset all the settings.3 rd, after the third ride the heart rate monitor stopped working and hasn't worked since. (6 more rides)yes the cost is on the low side but i guess you get what you pay for.
Zip ties not a good way to mount sensor.
August 10, 2015
The computer works great but mounting the sensor to the bicycle fork with zip ties is no good. The sensor kept sliding down the fork. Also the rubber pad which holds the sensor in place fell off. Luckily I found it in the drive way. My husband reinstalled it. He put some super glue on the pad. Hopefully everything will stay in place.
Below Average Bike Computer
June 16, 2015
The wireless range on this unit is very short. The speed sensor cannot be put on the rear wheel. Making it useless for bicycle trainers. Setting the wheel speed sensor can be a pain because the little magnet that attaches to the spokes can easily move around. The heart rate monitor is good and works well. Overall was not thrilled with this unit.

Instructions are in Japanese. Hopefully I can find a digital version of English instructions online but I don't think I would have purchased it if I had known.
These, are great computers, but mine didn't work
April 4, 2017
When this arrived I was very pleased by the appearance. White, slick, low profile display. We set it up according to my bike's specs & take a bike for a spin. For some reason it did not track miles or speed accurately. I had 2 road bike buddies double check the setup. Still didn't work. I bought a different bike computer from the same company and it works great. Guess this one was just a bad one.
Might be a good product for a normal bicycle
March 7, 2017
Very difficult to install on a spinning bike due to the magnet not attaching as needed to the wheel portion. I had to saw off a portion of the magnet piece so it would face appropriately towards the monitor to register a speed. Ultimately I was able to get it to work, but not after significant amount of rigging to get things to fit. Might be a good product for a normal bicycle, but I would not recommend for a spinning bike.

Could not get it to work for more than half a mile.
February 24, 2016
Worked well for about half a mile on every ride. Then it did not pick up the speed for the rest of the ride. I tried hard to make it work. I moved up the magnet/sensor as high as possible and installed new batteries. I moved the receiver/display unit around the handlebars. The manufacturer sent me a second unit with the same results. Both units showed some miles in the memory and arrived in sleep mode (returns???) Zip ties were brittle, had to buy new ones. The heart rate monitor worked well, although I had some obvious misreads. The instruction manual was not clear, which made it much harder to set up than needed. When it worked, I really liked it. It was simple and easy to read. But in the end, I sent it back. It was just a waste of time.
Horrible customer service
February 23, 2016
Received this product and installed according to the instructions. At first, current MPH was working and it stopped. I tried everything I can think of to correct the issue, how ever I can't get it fixed. Email manufacturer and I am yedt to receivea response. I called them twice and can't speak to a human being. That's it!!! I will be shipping this back!!!!It has been almost two weeks now and no answer to my email or callback. Horrible customer service!!!!!
Disappointing Product & Worse Customer Support
December 17, 2015
**Update 17 Dec, 2015** ---> They have reached out to me today and have said that they have emailed a new one to me. I will update this review again and change the rating if I get a new one and it works any different. When I got this product it was missing the plastic piece that helps hold the magnetic part to the bike, so I did the next best thing and stuck it onto my bike with something else (I used some string to keep it in place and at least see if I can get any kind of read out). I finished setting everything else up but the sensor didn't track any information like current speed, distance traveled, etc. (this was after riding my bike for 40 minutes). I figured to try the heart rate monitor (which I didn't plan on ever using it) and that didn't work either. I've reset the device based of the manuals instructions and changed all the batteries as well, but nothing works as it is intended to.After all of this I contacted the MeasuPro customer support via phone number during the week and didn't get through to anyone (left a voicemail) no one contacted me. Emailed them and got a reply the next day asking for my Amazon order number, I gave it to them and days later now I'm still waiting for a reply. I have emailed them again and still haven't gotten a response from them.I wouldn't recommend for anyone to get this based of my bad experience with their product and with their customer service not being helpful either. I'll updating this accordingly if anyone from their team contacts me about this review or their product.
Pretty disappointing. However
August 3, 2015
Lasted one week. then numbers would 'spin' in an unreadable format. I figured perhaps high humidity. Then it died. Rather than hassle returning it, I just bought another one, rationalizing that then I'd have 2 chest straps for heart rate monitor. New one is still accurate as an odometer, trip meter, after one week. Heart rate monitor function now poor---you have to be withi 8" of the device to register heart rate. Pretty disappointing. However, it was risky buying such a low price item anyway. I'd assumed it would not be great, but this is ridiculous. Gonna give up on it.
Waste of money and time
July 14, 2015
Purchasing this item was a waste of money. Once I set up the computer, it would malfunction right away and then I would have to start over. As soon as I installed the sensor and began pedaling the bicycle, the computer would malfunction again by displaying all zeroes. I never got to use this item as it was intended to be used.
Returned and poor customer service on behalf of the seller.
June 27, 2015
This product had issues from the get go. I emailed the seller but got no reply. After taking this out on my bike, on the very first ride, it failed. The digits just went in a circle, broken. I couldn't reset it. I took the battery out and put it back in, but the display was still not working. I returned it.

Failed after a month
October 12, 2015
I was looking for something reliable and this is not it. It failed after a month of use. The battery works, the wires and magnet are still in place, but the speedometer and other functions are all zeroed out. Very disappointing.
Terrible experience. Arrived with a dead battery
July 20, 2014
Terrible experience. Arrived with a dead battery. After less than 4 weeks of use the device is junk. It drains a fresh battery within a weeks time. After the 2nd battery, I have decided it is trash. Unfortunately it died 2 days after the one month return policy....which is very disappointing. Switching to a different brand name.
