Five Star Reviews: | 48% Great for making Youtube Bass covers and home amateur bass recording. June 2, 2016 This does everything I want it to. It connects directly to the computer for recording and to play yousician, it makes a bunch of different sounds and once you go through the mostly clear manual and ask questions it is easy to use. Is a $300 Zoom pedal better, absolutely. But for the price the bedroom rocker cannot go wrong with this. This acts more like a pre-amp with presets genres April 20, 2016 Let me be clear, it is not a stomp box in the traditional sense. This acts more like a pre-amp with presets genres. Jazz, Country, Latin, Rock, etc etc etc. Each Genre is broken down to a further 10 subsets. I love what this thing has done for the versatility it provides me. Love it, love it, love it! Best Effects Pedal for Best Price May 4, 2015 I really enjoy using this, it works with any of my amplifiers, just simply plug it into the instrument port. I love playing all kinds of rock, and this pedal has all the good sounds that make your guitar come alive. The only disadvantage is the fact that it runs on AAA batteries. They run out quick if you play like I do, for hours at a time. Still, highly recommended. Every guitarist needs this. Simplicity Defined - Plug and Play June 19, 2014 I've been playing guitar since I was 10 (I'm 54 now), and can play reasonably well. I've had a Fender Princeton Chorus Amp for over 20 years, and the dirt channel has been getting kind of flakey; so, another band member of mine suggested that I either invest in a new amp (minimally a $300+ investment or much more), or just use the clean channel and get some effects pedals. I did my research, and gleaned that there was nothing close to getting more bang for the buck than the VOX Stomplab 2G. I ordered it (via Amazon prime), it was here in 2 days, and I've been playing with it ever since. Love it.Only minor drawbacks: 1) Order the 9V power adapter when you buy it. It comes with batteries, but the instructions say they only last 7 hours, and you have to remove the backplate to install them. The adapter (sold separately) is only another $9. 2) the user manual doesn't list out what the 100 presets do. That's a personal experiment exercise of discovery. Of the 100 presets, there is more than enough variations to cover just about any patch combo you can imagine; you just have to find it, and write it down somewhere. Plus, you can use the presets as templates, edit them and then save them in 20 additional user defined locations. But over all, being able to just turn it on and dial up a style, and then scroll to a setting that gives you just about anything you can imagine (e.g. Clean or Distortion, Reverb, Chorus, Echo, Delay, Wah-Wah, Synth Sounds, Flanger, Tube-Amp modelling, and much more) it gets the job done. You also have a separate Expression Pedal, Gain and Master Volume controls, so infinite variations are there. It also features an on board Chromatic Tuner. If you're a pro, this "all-in-one" may not be for you. If you just like to play and like things simple and yet sounds really good for not a lot of money, you can't go wrong with this box. Good things sometimes do come in small packages. Fantastic floor unit May 27, 2014 This is a fantastic piece of equipment for any gigging guitarist. Smaller than any other true multi-effects unit. And much easier than a rackmount with midi controllers. Just plug in the guitar and the amp and you've got the hot sauce.I went through all the presets and selected the cabinets that sounded best. Then I dumped those into the user presets. Then I tweaked those cabinets with effects like delay, chorus, flange, phase shifter, etc.. I set up all my tones in about two afternoons. Every guitarist in town has been up to look at my rig since then! And I use the silent tuner every time I start a new set on stage and to mute the guitar between sets.I only use it with a power supply, so I never have to worry about the battery going dead. Instant mojo for $69 June 6, 2013 I play solo jazz, back up singers, small duos and in country combos. I needed a new tuner and a reverb pedal for the price of a modest tuner. This does both (and more) for less. The fewer pedals, the better and they need to work with my 1spot. Spendy gear is not a realistic use of my modest funds. I use a Bad Monkey for my basic dirt as it works with an amp or direct. The Monkey goes into the Stomplab where user patches 1,3 5,7 and 9 have the same identical settings: Modest compression, slap back delay and some room reverb. Spaces 0,2,4,6 and 8 have the novelty effects like flanging, big reverb with big delay, tremelo etc. That way, I'm only 1 click away from normal at any time and I don't have to hop around on the pedal to get out of a weird patch. The tremelo is neither square nor sine wave but in between. I add some delay and it smoothes out. I like the compressor, only 2 knobs and fairly unobtrusive, not clicky. The other modulations are 2 knob and not very complex sounding but hey reminded me of old Magnatone amps. The room reverb is more believable than many more expensive pedals. The spring reverbs sounded amp like - more Silvertone than Fender. The overdrives were not for me. I set the stomplab as clean and neutral as possible. The Ocatvia seemed usable. All the stttings can be made to have the same volume. If your tastes run to Alabama Shakes, Southern Culture on the Skids, or other rootsy lo-fi., you can dial that right in. Try get that stuff with expensive gear! I need clean with some ambiance without a $500 case of pedals so I'm happy. Great price and easy to use once you get the hang of it. Both of my pedals could fit in my gigbag front pocket.CONS: If you buy one, download the PDF manual, cut and paste the charts on one sheet at a font size you can read. The manual that comes with has tiny, tiny print and is not handy to flip through. No power supply included. Not easy to change parameters on the fly at a gig. | 70% Premium Cable! Would buy again. September 14, 2017 I bought a budget guitar and didn't like it. SO I bought a Yamaha stand alone F series acoustic electric guitar but there was not a cable that came with it when I bought it from Guitar Center. The Hosa GTR-210 Guitar cable is legit. This is the best cable i have ever had. after 5 years it still works and it has been my go-to cable to play on my guitar and amp. It feels very sturdy and the quality of sound being transferred is very high. There is no unnecessary noise or unwanted distortion. The only thing that changed from the moment i bought it is that the color white part of it started turning to light yellow due to old age.If it were to break on me, I would buy it again! Bought this for my son. He says its brtter ... September 5, 2017 Bought this for my son. He says its brtter than the one that came with his guitar. He plays his electric more than acoustic now. Dead Silent July 27, 2017 I originally bought a new guitar cable to replace my old one that had lost its ability to pick up my guitar's signal. It was part of a beginner's package so it pretty much had the life expectancy of a fly on tape..When it arrived, I found that the new cable not only picked up the signal perfectly clear but, to my surprise, had virtually nonexistent feedback noise. I was not expecting something like that for the price but I am impressed and definitely recommend it to those looking to upgrade or replace alike! This One Should Last A LONG TIME! June 16, 2017 When you unscrew the plug cover on a guitar cord and find the terminals are shielded, that is a sign of a well made cable. THIS is a well made cable. The cable is pliable, the strain relief runs back a good four inches from the plugs. For under ten bucks? Buy a couple! Good cable for the money. March 2, 2017 Good cable but haven't walked on it enough to say more. But out of the box it is what I would expect for the price and the strain relief look pretty solid. I know there are monster cables and sparkly prettier ones but I felt the girls at the club wouldn't be apt to notice the guy with the coolest guitar cable. Also I have seen the expensive ones fail as fast as the cheap ones so I always look for economy in disposable stuff like cabling. In short worth the money. great cable for the price May 12, 2014 I would recommend this cable for its price and function,i was looking for a cable with a 45 degree end and that was much more money and back ordered so I got this for a temporary cable and like it fine for my strat,no clearance issues at all.I will probably get a couple more.shipped fast and packaged great. | 0% There are no reviews yet | 61% There are no reviews yet | 0% There are no reviews yet |
Four Star Reviews: | 27% Great product in a small package. Tons of user control. August 12, 2016 This is an excellent guitar pedal for those that really like to deep dive into their tone. It has around 100 presets that I didn't find useful at all, however the pedal allows you to store 20 of your own presets and you can use one of the 100 programmed settings as a base to start from.Overdrive/Distortion - pedal contains several different amp modeling features that will adjust the tone and crunch. These were decent but really lacked the depth I like from a dedicated OD pedal.Expression Pedal - tiny but effective. I primarily used the pedal as a volume instead of compression, whammy, tremolo, etc.Reverb/Delay - I was actually really impressed by these mods. The delay doesn't go on for an extended length but I would rarely use it like that.Pros: able to store presets in advance. When on stage I could easily click into the next setting rather than hit two or three individual pedals. Volume pedal works great for swells.Cons: too many settings for my taste. Hard to get that exact time your looking for. Overdrive seemed to be lacking substance. Hard to match output volume between presets. Very Small - Perfectly Priced August 9, 2015 Small, sturdy, simple. I figured out how to program it after an hour or so of playing around. The expression pedal is very small and minimally useful but I think it was worth the extra money. It includes a very necessary noise reduction feature that you can adjust for each individual channel. The volumes are all over the place for the presets. This is now the only pedal I use on stage. It's probably better suited for recording than it is for live performance, though. The tuner is a little wonky, especially if you're used to a Boss tuning pedal. Great Solid Pedal!! June 6, 2015 Nice pedal! Could've only wished for a USB to make it better. Some effects are alittle "wtf" and others are somewhat "digital" however; overall sounds can be tweaked and I run with an EQ also so those were easy fixesl Great Solid Unit!! Learning Curve, but it's worth playing around with for a while. February 28, 2015 Smaller than I expected, which is fine, but the expression pedal could be a bit larger. The sounds you can get out of this thing are great, varied, odd, classic, whatever you needs. However, it is kind of a pain to have to turn to the book to figure out what to do next. But once you get the basics down, it becomes easier to edit and save lots of tones. Effects galore for beginners November 9, 2014 For the price, and amount of effects you get, its a steal. I am still trying to find a few sounds I can customize and save to my favorites, it takes time to get used to the controls but, I'm having fun, discovering all the different tones I can get from this pedal, it is a bargain, buy it you will be surprised by the versatility of it. If you have a drawer full of pedals, and other effects you may not like it but, for portability you cant beat it, because it is like taking over 10 other pedals with you. Vox did a good job and kept the price low. January 31, 2013 Versatile and user friendly. The metal case is a plus as is that it is made in Japan. For short money you get lots of effects and a tuner in a small neat package.Changing the batteries is a bit ponderous, a gate access would make changing the batteries quick instead of removing four small screws and removing the bottom plate. It is a minor inconvenience. It works well for my needs. | 17% Good Guitar Cable for the money July 6, 2017 Guitar Cable. Nothing Fancy but does what it said it would do for a price that doesn't break the bank... Great for beginners April 19, 2017 Don't expect a Mogami quality input, but this sounds good enough. Durability is debatable, but you definitely get more than you pay for. Cool! December 29, 2016 Sorry, one great in,one corner Came off!,but, that's a first from you guys, and I've got a few of you're leads so it's cool!,usually a 3 pack I get one that works!,so alls cool perfect size, and well made. Good value cable. December 15, 2015 This is a good cable for the money. It is tough enough to stand up well to normal use but still coils very well. I have had no problems from the 4 or more straight to straight versions I've purchased. Beware, the 90 degree ones aren't recommended because of connector failure. Does the job at a fair price March 30, 2014 This is a fine and inexpensive cable for practice use. The cable itself is a little thinner than I expected, so I'm not sure how well it would hold up under rough professional use or an environment with lots of electrical noise. But I much prefer the standard plugs on this one over the molded ones that come on many cables. When I first got it, one end was partially unscrewed. I'd guess it came loose during shipment. What the heck, just tighten it up. This gave me the idea to try using some threadlock (Loctite or similar) on the connectors to prevent loosening. After all these years of playing I had never thought of that before. Also, when it was brand-new I got some static noise through the amp. Unplugging the cable and plugging it back in cleaned things right up. This is a fairly common occurrence with plugs and jacks, often due to a tiny bit of corrosion or gunk at the contact point. The abrasion when unplugging and plugging back in serves to wear off the corrosion (or whatever) from the surface of the plug.Overall it does what it is supposed to do and is a good value. So Far So Good January 21, 2013 Hosa cable quality can be all over the place, some of their products are good (sound good, reliable, long lasting) and some of their products are not good (affect sound negatively, break prematurely, short useful life span). These guitar cords are actually quite nice, they feel good (gooey soft rubber jacket like Mogami), they sound good and so far they are working reliably, the rubber jacket is about .25" in diameter (by eye) and there is a short heat shrink overwrap to add strength where the wire enters the plug.I bought these when I needed cables fast for an internet concert, we had lots of pedals and signal splits to connect up. These cables arrived in good working condition and we've been using them continuously since. We have over a dozen tube amps and are very particular about sound degradation but so far these cables have not disappointed anyone.I would buy more if I needed them. | 0% There are no reviews yet | 20% There are no reviews yet | 0% There are no reviews yet |
Three Star Reviews: | 8% returned, the foot peddle was to small for my ... April 22, 2016 returned , the foot peddle was to small for my size 13 shoe , other than that it worked and sounded ok , just to small for my large foot size Good enough sound November 9, 2015 Good enough sound, but the interface isn't exactly intuitive and overall the thing is just too small. I don't exactly have big feet but it's difficult for me to hit the right hand button without accidentally hitting the left one as well. For the price, though, it's a decent product. Vox Box Works Well August 4, 2015 Still working on figuring out all the different sounds this box can make. I have found several that work well for my playing and songs. So far I'm glad I bought it. A SO-SO UNIT February 2, 2015 Vox never tells you that a power supply does not come with it...and they do not tell you of the outmoded and annoying way batteries are installed. If I knew this I would have passed on it. However, it arrived and that is when I found these facts to be the case. As for the programmability? First off, I seldom need to do that. Secondly, it requires a learning curve and the effort is not worth the results. Out of the 100 presets I found about 15 useful ones...and those are the ones I will use when I do not want to carry my pedal board. For short gigs or open mics this unit will be fine with the 15 sounds I noted as usable. If it cost anymore than it does I would advise skipping it...but for the price...it is okay. Not All Bad January 3, 2014 For the money it's okay. Shell out for the tube driven ToneLab... It's much smoother, and gives a greater emulation of tube driven amps. This one's just a little flat and dry. I had expected more from VOX January 16, 2013 I own and love a small VOX modeling amp. Based on my satisfaction with this product I purchased the Stomplab to add modeling effects to another amp I own. The Stomplab comes with minimal documentation and is not intuitive to use. The bigger problem is that the volume level is different for different effects. If you change effects while playing the volume suddenly increases or drops. A slight change in volume would be okay, but the difference is enough that you have to stop playing to adjust the volume back to a comfortable level. As for the range and sound of the effects, they are good. | 5% They work well. Sometimes they static and are shorter ... August 10, 2017 They work well. Sometimes they static and are shorter than I thought even after looking st the measure measurements, but it gets the job done. Makes me feel like if I had to take it in and out ... June 21, 2017 gets stuck in my interface port and is hard to pull out. Makes me feel like if I had to take it in and out often my interface could break. So-So June 13, 2017 Very thin compared to my other cords--this is more closer to pedal connector thickness. It also carries a lot of capacitance for a 10-foot cord. This has good sound quality and clearness November 23, 2016 This has good sound quality and clearness. The cable itself seems very sturdy yet not too thick. My complaint is with the ends. They constantly come unscrewed which is one of my biggest pet peeves with cables. | 0% There are no reviews yet | 6% There are no reviews yet | 0% There are no reviews yet |
Two Star Reviews: | 7% Two Stars July 3, 2017 it was good while it lasted but one after about a year of use it just stopped working. So So! May 3, 2017 This Vox will completely cut out while playing and cut back on at times. Not good if you're doing a show. Sound effects are nice and programming is easy. Some cool effects, but programming custom settings is near impossible April 5, 2016 I can't use this on stage. The output levels are way diminished. Some cool effects, but programming custom settings is near impossible. Two Stars November 16, 2015 Not big enough. Unless you want to use the pedal with your big toe! Not user friendly. Good sounds, too complicated, inadequate battery life August 9, 2014 This is way too complicated to use and the battery life is just a few hours. Has some great functionality if you invest the time in learning it, but really complicated to use and must be plugged in if you don't want to change the batteries daily. Wall plug not included and must be purchased separately. On a positive note (pun acknowledged), range of different sounds available is very broad - extremely flexible if you have the patience to tweak it. | 4% Would not recommend. Don't waste your money use the extra 8 ... November 9, 2017 Would not recommend. Don't waste your money use the extra 8 bucks and get a nice monster one or fender. This is junk. Looks cool. Sounds fine June 30, 2017 Looks cool. Sounds fine. Not durable at all. Only had it for a week before I accidentally stepped on it while it was plugged in... Now it doesn't work. Worked fine, but only for a short time. December 30, 2016 This cable didn't last long before it started to pop and buzz with every movement. I used it for a few months, but only about once per week and I took good care of it the whole time. Super Short Life March 23, 2016 It worked well while it worked. Unfortunately, that was only for 6 months. The end fell out and can not be repaired and the cable is quite funky. Of course it's too late to get a replacement or refund. We'll look for a different brand now. Suggest avoiding this one. Ooops October 18, 2015 It arrived early.. Worked greatNo feed back or crackling....First time I unplugged it from the guitar. The jack fell apart and got stuck in the brand new guitar!! Had to go buy one local.. Not happy:( Plugged it in and worked once but had a horrible hissing sound January 9, 2015 Plugged it in and worked once but had a horrible hissing sound. Tried it the next day and didn't work. Could not get it to work after that. Went and brought a better cable at the local music store and worked just fine without any buzzing or hissing sound. Looks like its a 50 to 50 chance rather you get one that works or you don't. I wouldn't waste your money with the chance you might get a faulty one. Spend a few more bucks and get a better cable. | 0% There are no reviews yet | 6% There are no reviews yet | 0% There are no reviews yet |
One Star Reviews: | 10% Worked great for 6 days now the on switch burned out ... September 14, 2017 Worked great for 6 days now the on switch burned out I believe and the pedal will not stay on unless I hold the button down continuously Cuts out! July 23, 2017 I bought this pedal about 2 months ago. Worked great for a while but now it cuts out randomly and froze up once. Not very happy with the purchase. Don't care for it and I have been refused once ... February 19, 2015 Don't care for it and I have been refused once trying to return it. I can't blame Amazon, it's the maker. Worthless for a gigging musician. February 7, 2015 Decent little stomp box with nice effects BUT the horrendous battery / AC power situation make it useless for an actively gigging musician. No AC adapter is included. As other reviewers have stated, no AC adapter I tried works, even correct voltage and amperage. Makes we wonder if the plug is cosmetic. Furthermore the battery life sucks. It can't make it through two 3 hour gigs. There is no battery level indicator so you basically have to change batteries every gig or risk the embarrassment of your guitar dying midway through a set. 4 AA batteris every gig is major hassle and will cost you a fortune in the long run. Lastly, to top it all of, you need a Phillips screwdriver to change batteries. Another pain the arse. This product is a joke. The cheap f**ks at Vox should have included the AC adapter and charged $10 more. As it stands, this product is a toy... | 4% Good for 2 months then quit November 5, 2017 Cord lasted for roughly 2 months of practice, I bought it because of the high rating. Rolled the cord into a loose 12" circle wrap after every time it was used (maybe 15 times) as I treat all my cords very gingerly. Others may have better results but this was the first and last Hosa cord I 'll ever buy. Same price range as a monster cable without the Monster warranty Defective on delivery April 25, 2017 Improperly grounded causing a horrible buzz unless touched. I checked against another cable and sure enough this one is defective. Seems like fairly cheap construction which I expected for the price but I would have preferred it to have work in the first place. This cord sucks. We've had two break March 5, 2017 This cord sucks. We've had two break. Knew I should've gone with the fender one. I will say they promptly replaced the first broken one and the second missed the return window by two days. So now I will buy him the one he originally said and quit being cheap. Total failure out of the box January 24, 2016 Didn't work out of the box. The end connectors were loose and the cables are thin. No sound from the guitar. Other cables work. Spend a few dollars and get a reputable brand. Glad I didn't bring these to a gig. Luckily I can return easily with Amazon. Cable Cuts In and Out January 22, 2016 Cable is not consistent--as stated by other reviewers, my cable is defective. The sound cuts in and out while playing and occasionally has popping and hissing. Very disappointed. | 0% There are no reviews yet | 7% There are no reviews yet | 0% There are no reviews yet |
