easy to clean, cat likes it
May 27, 2017
tracking does happen with this product but it is *nothing* like what you get with clay clumping litter. very easy to sweep up. you have to follow the instructions and really keep up with them- you only need about 1-2 inches of litter, clean the poop daily, and when a weeks up- toss the litter out. there's no point to scoop the disintegrated pieces, honestly, the litter is cheap and it'll smell too bad after a while anyway.so think of it more as a litter you'd use for a hamster than a cat lol. not meant to sit in the box for long.i also prefer this very much over pine litter- pine litter disintegrates and tracks horribly, and gets stuck in my throat and all over my cats paws. ew. this is much safer and cleaner.
Very good if your cat has to have it
May 24, 2017
I only love it because my cat had to have it. He had an injury on a paw and there is no dust with the product. However, my cat is very finicky about where he pees and he won't go on a previously dampened spot which means you can't move the litter around. Also, it is hard to see the damp spots. For my cat I had to use 3-4 times the amount of litter as the clumping kind. My cats wounds are healing and I will go back to the clumping kind. Do consider buying this product locally because it is very heavy and a hard to package to ship

We use this litter for my pig. I love it, the only problem is that she uses the bathroom so often and in such large quantities, that I am literally purchasing this item every few weeks and it is starting to get pricey!
Sooooo nice. This makes having ferrets SO MUCH
March 20, 2017
I use this for my ferrets. Just a very small skattering at the bottom of the cage below the grate and it soaks up any urine really well and make the poop easier to clean up. Sooooo nice. This makes having ferrets SO MUCH EASIER
Perfect litter. No scent
November 16, 2016
This is the perfect litter in my honest opinion. I personally use it for my rabbit. I love it because it's compressed recycled newspaper, 100% safe for pets, and environmentally friendly. At first I was skeptical because it's completely different than the other litters that are out there, but since I've been using this product I've seen that there has been no dust, no no clumps, and is now a holy grail liter for my household. Since switching to this litter I now refuse to purchase anything else. It is cheaper on Amazon than in my Petco so I've purchased here since seeing this. I plan to try the scented options next.
Yesterday's News is My Choice of Paper Litter!
September 13, 2016
These are my go-to paper litter pellets for my rabbits litter boxes. I use these in conjunction with soft, white bedding / litter. I find a little bit goes along way. It is very absorbent and does a phenomenal job soaking up the urine (and smell), in my opinion. I put the paper pellets on the bottom of the pan and sprinkle a layer of white bedding on top. The paper pellets catch whatever pee-pee the white fluff misses. I use the white fluff bedding on top of these paper pellets because it allows me to monitor the color of my bunnies urine. It works like charm for me.I prefer the unscented litter over the scented. The scented litter (when wet) smells worse than a dirty littler box, in my humble opinion. It sort of smacks you in the face when you walk into the rabbit zone. Once wet, the litter sort of crumbles but it still holds the urine. It is easily scoop-able when it is soiled. You can get away with scooping out the soiled litter daily and replacing it so there is no need to dump the whole pan out and disinfect it as often. All in all, I highly recommend this litter. The price is great and I stand by the product. It is non-toxic and pretty much dust-free. I don't think you would be disappointed if you were to purchase this for your littler trained pet.Occasionally, a little residue is left of the bottom of the pan. It cleans right up with white vinegar. Just a little spray, let it sit and wipe it up. Box comes out like new when cleaned this way.

July 7, 2017
This was the litter our vet recommended after our kitten had surgery on one of his paws. He had no problem transitioning to it. I wish it covered the smell better, but we only needed to use it a short time so it was ok. I did like that it was easier to clean up when he knocked it out of his litter box. Overall it was a good litter for the time we needed it.
Like the Product, HATE the Price Increase
March 8, 2017
What's with the $4 price hike from last month?! I loved the delivery convience, but with buying it almost monthly, I may need to purchase locally.I buy this product for two small dogs. It blocks smell all it can- but dogs don't bury their droppings. Once in a while I find one chewing on the pellets.
Mostly good, with one caveat
December 6, 2016
My cat has very sensitive paws, and so I am unable to buy clumping litter anymore. This type of litter works well for him, preventing injuries that coarse, sand-based litters have caused. Each piece is large, so it's tough for it to be tracked very far from the litter box, meaning that cleanup is much easier than other types of litter as well. The big negative about this product is that it has absolutely no odor reduction, so you'll know very quickly if something has happened depending on the litter box's location.

October 31, 2016
My feelings are border-line from loving it to it being good enough. Been using it for a couple months and it covers the smell pretty well when my cat decides to completely cover up her business. The urine smell definitely comes through if you don't clean out the urine soaked pile, but that's not much of an issue if cleaned daily. If you're new to the world of pellet litters, cleaning it is a bit more tedious than clumping litters. You have to carefully "dig" for the urine soaked parts and kinda isolate it from the clean pellets to be able to scoop that part out. For the #2 pieces, you have to individually scoop them out. This doesn't bother me that much since this product is very environmentally friendly from using recycled paper. My cat has been using paper pellets of all different brands since she was a kitten so she adjusted to this one well. The dust that it creates is not small enough to get into the air but sometimes is tracked around the litter box. The pellets sometimes get out of the litter box too but that might be from my cat kicking it out. Not that big of a problem because I'll just pick it back in. It doesn't have any scent which I enjoy. I've tried pine scented litter before and they all smelled artificial which I did not enjoy.Overall, this litter is nice because you get a lot for the price and is environmentally friendly from using recycled paper. But you do have to constantly clean it to keep odor low
Only kind of litter my husband wants to use.
August 22, 2016
My husband changes the litter and insists that this is the only type of kitty litter he will use. Doesn't like the clay kind at all. One of the reasons is that this does not throw dust all over when filling boxes vs the clay type.
Good stuff
July 2, 2015
The price is steep, let's be honest. But my rabbit does his business in this litter, it doesn't have any weird smell, and it does it's job.

It’s a good product
September 21, 2017
We don’t have cats but we have 2 guinea pigs that are litter trained well were they don’t care for this stuff it’s hard to find a large bag of pine so I went with this since some said they use it for there guinea pigs. Ours must just be picky.
Not good in humid conditions
August 7, 2017
I liked the idea of this litter because it's environmentally friendly, light weight and available at most retailers. However it seems in the summer months when it's humid, this stuff does not absorb odor at all. I've noticed a mark difference on a hot and humid day vs a cooler dry day. The ammonia smell is awful. I find I have to change the litter pretty often, sometimes less than a week later. If this stuff held up better in humidity, I'd keep using it but unfortunately I'll probably be going back to simply pine.

August 9, 2016
It met the needs I had for a kitty who had surgery and needed litter with no chemicals. I personally don't care for it because it doesn't clump and it's hard to tell what is soiled and what isn't. It's all natural and for anyone looking for that affect then this is the litter for you.
We used to buy Good Mews cat litter
May 2, 2016
We used to buy Good Mews cat litter. It was the first time our cat had tried using a recycled paper turned into pellets. It came in a 30 lb. bag, lasted for 3 changes and cost around $7 (at Winco). It was GREAT! The cat liked it, and it didn't track all over the house. One day, I went in to get some and it was gone. I looked everywhere, including Amazon and was shocked at the price difference (much higher everywhere). So we shopped around and came up with Yesterday's News. It is the only pellet-type litter that isn't pine scented, the bag is the same size, but I guess we had been spoiled by paying only $7 and now we were up to around $17.The first time I cleaned out the box (daily type), I was surprised that many of the pellets had dissolved into dust. Good Mews held its shape, no matter what, it never turned into dust, which, by the way is extremely difficult to pick up with a regular scoop. . As far as odor control, it also failed that test. The third and final problem is that the 30 lb. bag only lasts for 2 changes vs. the 3 we got with Good Mews. The result of the pellets turning to dust is having to constantly add more each day, which is probably why each bag only lasts for 2 changes.Pellet form of litter is much healthier for cats vs. clay or sand (which cats ingest by bathing following their trip to the box) so I'm grateful that our cat will use it. We used to use SwheatScoop, which is fantastic, but extremely expensive. It looks like even though I'm not that happy with Yesterday's News, it's better than a number of the other brands of litter on the market today.
Disintegrates too much
August 30, 2015
I live in a tiny studio apartment, so I absolutely NEED a litter that doesn't track, because it all ends up on my bed. I was using a different paper pellet litter ( Fresh News Post Consumer Paper Pellet Cat Litter, 12-Pound ) and loved it. This was cheaper, so I figured hey - paper's paper, right? It definitely does the job, and it doesn't track as much as clay litter, but it breaks down quickly instead of retaining moisture and its pellet shape. I can't pick out the wet patches without avoiding the dry stuff very easily when it's just dust, which means I have to strip the litter boxes every week or so and fill them anew. So, this doesn't last as long as the other stuff. Not a huge fan, I'll be switching back once I've used up the massive 30 lb bag I purchased.

Didn't work for my cat
July 27, 2017
I decided to try a new litter for my cat who seemed to track the standard clay clumping litter everywhere. I wish this would have worked for me, but it didn't. My cat's litter box never smelled like ammonia before and it did with this, even cleaning daily. It is too difficult to scoop up every "soiled" piece so I am sure that is the cause for the smell. You end up tossing most of the "unsoiled" pieces when using a scooper. My cat only would use the box a couple times with this and then started going outside the box. I will say it does work well soaking up the puddles of urine he left outside his box but I'll just be going back to the standard clay litter.
Not what I was hoping for.
June 16, 2017
Bought these as a cheaper alternative to BREEZE pellets. They definitely do not work near as good. I'm going back to breeze just as soon as these are gone.

May 31, 2017
I bought this large size bag to last me the month or more at least, and I went through it in less than two weeks because I have to dump the entire litter box everyday because it is completely saturated with pee from just one animal. Too expensive for how fast I go through a bag of it. I really wanted to male this my new litter because it is more envionmentally friendly. I wont be purchasing again unless I can find it for a cheaper price.

May 24, 2017
All of the other reviews and the description say this isn't clumpy but why is mine the clumpiest litter i've used yet? I empty it just about daily yet it reeks and sticks both to the edges of the litter box and to the bunnies' feet. By the end of 1 day it's like urine soup in there and I have to keep adding litter to it just so that something gets absorbed. But at least it's cheap and a hefty amount for the price.
Builds up Ammonia quickly
November 17, 2016
Compared to other brands infused with Zeolite (this brand is NOT) the pellets don't hold up well and the urine scent will keep you changing the box a LOT. Very disappointed. We switched back to Exquisicat Paper pellet with Zeolite found at PetSmart :)
not better than Breeze pellets
January 9, 2015
depends on your expectation, if you want something cheaper and better than regular cat litter then it's ok. Odor control is alright, the first couple days are pretty decent, but since it's made of newspaper, it DOES absorb urine! The moist newspaper broke to pieces, some fell to the urine pad and some stuck and blocked the bottom of Breeze litter pan so urine at certain locations couldn't leak to the urine pad, so after 4-5 days I started smelling some pee. I had to dump the whole thing and rinse it to get rid of the paper stuck on the bottom. The breeze pellets appear to be a lot more expensive but one bag last 4-5 times longer than YN newspaper litter, so it actually is cheaper for the long run.

I did not like this litter
September 17, 2017
I did not like this litter, I actually wouldnt even call it that. I understand the idea of it and wanted to like it since it is made from recycled paper but after the first day the pieces started to absorb the urine and crumble apart making it impossible to remove the soiled portions. The box always smelled like urine no matter how often I cleaned it. Basically would need to dump out the whole box every cleaning and start over.
Terrible product!
August 7, 2017
This is the worst litter I have ever bought. Odor control is minimal. Separating the waste from the dark-colored, large pellets is almost impossible not to mention wasting a lot of clean litter when cleaning the box. I would return it if I could!😡
Not what everyone raved about.
March 16, 2017
I bought this for my 2 ferrets, it was what everyone raved about. Said it was the best litter to buy, that it worked wonders. I hate it. It doesn't mask the smell, hard as all get out to scoop the poop out and I still have to clean the whole litter box because it doesn't absorb their pee. Great amount for the price but I won't be buying it again.
Smelly and High Maintenance
January 19, 2017
I really wanted to like this litter. The cat did not respond well to how heavy/large the pellets were and did not bother to burry her excrement. I ended up having to clean the litter after every use, not just once a day. Without this extreme cleaning regiment, my entire upstairs reeked of cat poop/urine. Not worth it.
I purchased this because my very favorite litter, Crown bedding has been discontinued
November 6, 2016
Purchased for my rabbit litter. She is a lionhead and every other type of litter gets caught in her fur. I purchased this because my very favorite litter, Crown bedding has been discontinued. This litter is a disappointment. It has much smaller/thinner pieces and does nothing for the smell at all. Back to the drawing board.
Worst I've tried...
February 6, 2016
We just got a cat so I've experimented with every type of kitty litter there is possible. And of all the brands I've tried this is by far the worst. There seems to be no odor control and the way it absorbs the urine is okay but the poop is terrible and the box was smelling after one day. Not sure why this gets so many good reviews?
