Five Star Reviews: | 61% Great fountain pen for the price. last a long time (filled with easily double the ammount of a replaceable cartridge. July 12, 2017 Awesome quality for the price. Writes great for a RIGHTY ONLY!Great fountain pen for the price. last a long time (filled with easily double the ammount of a replaceable cartridge.Writes great for a RIGHTY ONLY!LEFTIES YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED! FINE DAILY WRITING INSTRUMENT May 24, 2017 Simply luv! I wanted a simple, basic, inexpensive fountain pen to use at work daily. This fit the bill. Lightweight & comfortable to use. Ink flow is even and concise. You do not need to use a lot if pressure when writing with this type of pen. The only minor drawback is if your "heavy-handed" & use too much pressure when writing, the tip of nib will bend/break. It is durable, but in an inexperienced fountain pen user's hand it will break. Overall, I highly recommend and WILL indeed purchase more of this particular pen. I found this Pilot Pen "Varsity" model to be quite comparable to the quality & percision of much higher-end/more expensive fountain pens. If your a fountain pen enthusiast like myself, you gotta try at this price point. You will be glad you did! No More Cleaning - Convenient April 23, 2017 I have always had an affinity for fountain pens but as of late I've grown tired of the required maintenance for traditional fountain pens so I have opted for these more and more often. Though environmentally not the greatest to choice to make it does provide convenience when on the road. The ink flow is substantial and smooth. There is no bleeding on quality pages and the dry time is decent. There are no smudges on the pages. This is one of the best brands of disposable fountain pens. If you are not familiar with how they write watch some online videos before making this purchase. The idea of fountain pens might be appealing but the application and use is not for everyone. Great bang for your buck! February 7, 2017 Great pens for the cost! I have numerous 'expensive' fountain pens and these are great to use in that if you do happen to lose one it's not like you lost a $100 pen. They do tend to bleed a bit more than the high end pens, but these are no where near that expensive. Would definitely recommend the fine pointed pens due to the bleeding. I have gone through packages of them so far and will be ordering more when my supply runs low! Excellent quality April 6, 2016 Love the feel of these pens. There is no messy business associated with filling a regular ink pen. The ink in these Pilots won't dry out during prolonged storage. I recently came upon a box of Pilot pens that had fallen behind some books. I probably purchased that box 5 years ago. The pens worked fine. Buy Them While You Still Can! February 8, 2015 What can one say - if you like the Pilot V Pen in blue ink. This is the pen for you. | 72% Great pens September 10, 2017 I've ordered these fountain pens multiple times. They are really fun to write with. They have bright colors, and a nice easy flow. I let people try them out all the time and everyone always loves them. If you are thinking about trying fountain pens, these are a wonderful place to start. I actually prefer them to some of the other fancier / more expensive refillable pens I have purchased. They last a really long time, they dry quickly, the nub isn't too scratchy.Just try them! Loved the black ones so much I purchased the ones ... June 2, 2017 Loved the black ones so much I purchased the ones in color. Had a friend try one and she bought the same ones I did. I have done calligraphy in the past....semi-professionally and for fun. I love writing with fountain pens. So...I grade papers with these pens, write notes, doodle. I love these! Smooth ink flow and nice range of colours January 17, 2017 This multi pack has a Greta range of colours and I've had no issues with the flow,of ink and precision of the nibs which is unusual for a disposable fountain pen. I've been using these in line with some copy books to improve my handwriting and have found they work really well on the smooth paper. Absolutely excellent for the money December 1, 2016 I love fountain pens, but don't leave my nice ones out on my desk any more. All it takes is one person borrowing and breaking an expensive fountain pen to change your habits (DAMHIKT). But that means when I want to write a quick note, I have to use a ballpoint "guest pen".These Varsity pens are a great compromise. They let you use and loan out real fountain pens in circumstances where you wouldn't use your nice pens. And they write well and come in a great array of colors. They keep their ink wet for months at a time without any care, and the fun colors are great for notes at your desk or in meetings. And if you're talking with someone and they're curious about fountain pens, give 'em one! At this price, why not?I like writing with these pens and I like letting others write with them. In terms of nib size, they're between a European Fine and Medium nib. They are dependable writers, and excellent for the money. Feels like a REAL pen! May 9, 2016 I grew up in England, where fountain pens are much more common. Living in America now, I've often found myself missing writing with fountain pens, so when I found out that the Varsity pens were so affordable, I instantly searched for them on Amazon and made the purchase.I am happy to say that I am not disappointed at all! They are great little pens that write smoothly right out of the package, and feel very comfortable in the hand. I even noticed that my 'old hand-writing' even came back, and I've been finding excuses to write things just because I get a genuine joy from writing with a 'real' pen!The varsity pens are just plain awesome. They bring joy back to writing, and are obviously made with high-standards. I highly recommend them, even over some that are quadruple the price! Inexpensive entry to try out fountain-style pens. March 12, 2013 These pens flow ink incredibly smoothly. Far more smoothly than just about anything else I have used. The only pen that comes close has been the gel ink from the G2 pens, but those pens seem to frequently have hiccups in some manner. These pens do not tend to skip nearly as much as other pens I have used. Now, if you are not used to fountain pens, there is a bit of a learning curve to position the nib correctly. They also will pool ink in one spot and bleed through the paper if they are simply left in one position for too long, due to the capillary action of the pen. The inks come in a variety of colors and flow well. Ink dry time is a bit longer than average. If you are looking to try out fountain pens inexpensively, this seems like a good option to add some variety and to try something different. Give them a try and you might find you prefer them to the standard fare. | 68% There are no reviews yet | 0% There are no reviews yet | 0% There are no reviews yet |

November 23, 2016 Not too pricey and a decent writing experience. I have grown to love using fountain style pens since I was given a gorgeous Pilot, but don't like taking it everywhere or leaving it at work because it is both sentimental and pricey. These are fine for most things and work fairly well. Enjoyed writing with this product! June 23, 2016 I had the medium point ones and am a fan. But I have been hoping for a fine point product. Again, quality is as good as the medium point. However, I found that the nib is still not fine enough. It is still thicker than my Parker fine point! LOL! But the writing is quote smooth and the ink flow is way better than my significantly more expensive Parkers! Pilot V pen, blue ink October 9, 2015 Nice pens which feel just like a fountain pen. They write like a fountain pen which means that one must let the ink dry for a minute or so until it doesn't smear. I found that I write faster with these than with a ball pen since the ink wants to flow more quickly. The line is more of a medium width than a fine width. Overall, I like them Fun to write with September 1, 2015 great pens, smooth writing without bleeding, nice tactile feedback. Will get a finer nub next time though for taking notes in class, these are for more sedate, recreational writing Love the pens, but they sent Black ink with medium nib July 14, 2015 I love these pens and have been using them in a variety of colors for a year now. The ones that I have had in the past have been medium nib and I was excited to try these fine pens in blue. Sadly the ones I received were black ink and a medium nib. I kept them anyways because I did not want to deal with shipping them back and I still love these pens. | 15% Good for school or work use where you might lose a more expensive fountain pen. August 18, 2017 I bought these to use at work as an alternative to the work-provided ballpoint pens that are hard on my hands. I wanted something that I wouldn't worry about if someone picked it up. These pens aren't a substitute for a better quality non-disposable fountain pen but they work well enough for everyday writing. They have a medium point which is closer to broad point on poorer quality paper. Paper quality makes a big difference with these pens. I would have preferred fine point but these are okay. The pens write well right out of the package. I haven't had any problem with the ink drying if I set them down uncapped for a few minutes. The nibs are a little scratchy but not so much that it annoys me. I will probably save some of the brighter colors for greeting cards and holiday letters. Overall, these are good, functional everyday fountain pens that I don't need to worry about if I lose them. Great for cartridge pens, but not what I would call fountain pens. July 10, 2017 I really like the size of these, but expected more of a fountain pen. Instead, it is more of a set of miniature cartridge pens, which are truly nice, but not what I expected. The nibs are pointed so that writing with them is just like writing with a regular pen. I have used fountain pens before and loved how the writing looks when using them, but these don't have the flatness to the nib that a real fountain pen would have. So, I gave them to my daughter who is using them for her notes and also for details in her adult coloring books.I would give a 5 but I felt deceived by the description and the picture on the package. They work and are Inexpensive, but Leak September 13, 2016 A friend pointed these out to me because I love pens and fountain pens are super cool to use. I like the variety of colors that the pens offer and the ink is of high quality. The ink can bleed, but I had no interruption in marking so I found that nice. Because it is a fountain pen, be prepared to have ink marks on your fingers... so if you have a problem with that, these are not the pens to use, especially if you hold the pen near the actual point, because constant pressure on the side will cause ink to leak onto your fingers. Despite pen stains, which I really do not mind, I think these are a fun disposable option to step up your pen game without spending a ton on the really pricey fountain pens. A great set to try, especially if you're not sure you'll like fountain pens. May 21, 2016 These are actually pretty great, I'm still surprised at how well they work! I had damaged my first fountain pen ever and got these to hold me over until I could get more. They had some postive things to say about them on Gouletpens YouTube videos, too. I like them a lot, they're so smooth! The nib is about a Medium or so, good for most uses that don't require a fine nib. The thing is, they're a good way to find out if you like fountain pens, but if my daughter used them as a first try, she'd hate them, (she's an ef nib kinda gal) so just be aware of that part. My first fountain pen - It's a good pen but I would not buy it again August 23, 2015 I work with senior citizens (I'm 25) and they always comment on how long it has been since they've seen a fountain pen. I highly suggest anyone working with this population use a fountain pen for the conversations it starts. The downside is that as these seniors age, some of them forget that fountain pens must be held at a certain angle for the nib as opposed to ballpoint pens which can write at any angle. I no longer use the pen when I need signatures from seniors, but only when taking notes with them. This is my first fountain pen. It is a joy to write with it compared to ballpoint. However I will not be buying it again because it is very short in length and therefore not as comfortable for me to hold; it bleeds a lot of ink and is not as fine of a point as I would like; some ink smears and spreads under the capped area and holding the pen becomes slightly sticky if not cleaned.I plan on buying a different fountain pen next time, but for the price this is a fun pen. Good disposable fountain pen August 20, 2015 I've been using these Pilot disposable pens for some years now. My regular pen is a high end Cross Townsend that cost several hundred dollars. However, there are many times in document mark-up or sketching or brainstorming that I want to work in different colors. I don't go "color" enough to justify the expense of dedicated pens or ink nor do I like to give up the comfort and control of a fountain pen. These fit the bill just right. No, they do not right as well as a $250 fine writing instrument. However, they are far, far better than using regular ballpoint or roller point pens. They are stainless steel nibs with a medium point. As such there is a bit of scratch-scratch as you write, however, the ink flow is smooth and there is no spatter. The inks are nice and bright. Drying time is reasonable. They use Pilot inks, obviously, so that says enough there. Though not the Noodler's I use in my primary pen, they are good inks.If you are a fountain pen user and want a pen for occasional color or if you just want to experience a fountain pen inexpensively, these are a good choice. | 18% Great Pen August 22, 2017 These are super fun to use. I'm a pen junky and I bujo. They don't give you the complete fountain pen feel. But! They do give you some of it. They write VERY smooth. I love them Good value for the price August 11, 2017 Good value for the price. Nice writing quality. A little bit of ghosting on the other side of the page, but that's probably the case with most pens of this kind. Dries relatively quickly, but need to wait a few seconds before touching or closing the page. Rare chance to buy the fine-tip pen May 9, 2017 I enjoy using these disposable pens, and would do so more if I had more opportunities to write on good-quality paper. I would prefer blue or blue-black ink, and an even finer point would be nice, but for now this is a winner. Love these September 17, 2016 I freaking love these pens. The only downfalls are that the ink runs out quickly and if anything is touching the pen tip, ink will come out (learned this from leaving it on a dress of mine-ink came out but it was embarrassing walking around with the ink spot on my lap). Other than that, it's a great gift for writer or doodler friends. Also great for journaling. I reccommend it. These were cheap and I love that they are disposable February 3, 2016 My husband needed a fountain style pen for writing in a different language. These were cheap and I love that they are disposable! The seem to work good, and for the price you can't beat it! I just wish they had a window for viewing the ink level. Pen disposable fountain pens are nice for the money January 4, 2016 The Pilot V. Pen disposable fountain pens are nice for the money. Let's face facts this is not your top of the line fountain pen for those serious scribes among us. These are the pens you don't care if you lose them somewhere along your daily trek. Good for the occasional fountain pen user . | 0% There are no reviews yet | 0% There are no reviews yet |
Three Star Reviews: | 13% This pen not swordlike.. August 31, 2017 My biggest complaint is that these pens are just too small for my hands to be/write comfortably with. Capped they are a bit over 5" long, uncapped and flipped they are about 6". The ink flows well, and it's basically a med nib. Might be better for someone with smaller hands September 20, 2016 These pens are really small (lengthwise) something I probably should have noticed. They don't sit well in the hand. Might be better for someone with smaller hands? I think these are felt pens with a cool quill-type tip April 29, 2016 My daughter (who works in management) absolutely LOVES these pens - they're just OK for me. They look like quill pens, but write like felt tip pens. They definitely float along the page nicely, but the thin or "small" tip makes a pretty thick line to me. It is a very impressive looking pen, but it's too much of an effort on my part to make sure I hold it at the right angle. A true quill pen will also change the width according to how you hold the pen. So far I've found that it either writes in a thick manner or it skips or doesn't write at all. I'll definitely use the pens, but I'm not sure I'll reorder. The ink flows pretty smooth, but these pins are no where close ... October 24, 2015 The ink flows pretty smooth, but these pins are no where close to a small or fine point. Depending on the paper this pen puts out a pretty thick stroke. I wanted a disposable fountain pen with a fine nib. This one was ok but the line ... October 19, 2015 I wanted a disposable fountain pen with a fine nib. This one was ok but the line was too bold and for all intents and purposes, unusable for me I love how these pens write and the size of them May 11, 2015 I love how these pens write and the size of them. However, I am not thrilled that the clip is cheap plastic. The clips break extremely easily and detract from the look of the pens. Yes, these are meant to be used and tossed, but I expect them to hold up until the ink runs out. This clip will not last that long. Aside from that, I am pleased with the pens. | 7% Just okay. June 22, 2017 They are nice to write with - no hiccups or having to scribble/shake to get ink flowing. But they put out a LOT of ink. These will be awful on any paper lighter than 80gsm -- writing on a standard office pad has bleed-through to the next page. They are not as fine-tipped as some other fountain pens, so keep that in mind; a thick line and heavy ink limit the options for use. The colors are nice and bright - not faded at all - so that's a plus. All in all, three stars. If a very fine point were offered, I'd buy them in a heartbeat. they are very smooth and fluid and good for routine April 27, 2017 Smooth and fluid, but not a pen to use for calligraphy or formal script as the nib is not versatile enough to create the varied line widths. Even when varying my stroke in multiple ways, I was not able to repeatedly achieve the thin, elegant lines of formal script. The pens tend to write with a medium line, despite varying angles and pressure. Still, they are very smooth and fluid and good for routine, daily note taking etc. I bought these as something fun to write with during the day but the ink ... April 21, 2017 I bought these as something fun to write with during the day but the ink seems to dry too fast in the tip. I need to write things down every few minutes and I find myself having to put the cap back on each time to prevent having to scribble a few times to get the ink flowing. I probably wouldn't buy these again for that reason however the do write very well and was surprised at the quality. NICE COLOR SELECTION March 4, 2017 I'm looking for a replacement for my Berol Fontaine, which I've had for years and must be getting low on ink by now. They don't make that one any more and I gave these a try. Nice pens, but the point is not as fine as I'd wanted. My husband took them to use for his art projects. I've had these for like two weeks and take really good care in making ... January 24, 2016 I've had these for like two weeks and take really good care in making sure they don't dry out. I have other refillable fountain pens so I'm aware they can get dry and clogged - but I make sure they're capped and keep moisture in the tip. The black color has already dried up and will not write anymore. I don't do too much writing, just mainly writing checks and an occasional letter. I use the colors for doing my lecture notes. They're great pens and make writing so much easier. The consistency just isn't great and they're not that old at all and I've already lost use of the black. They have changed - DISAPPOINTING June 4, 2014 I had a few of these in "old style" that I came across in a desk drawer. Had forgotten how cool they were for writing. (I'm a pen freak.) I was leaving for two months on a work assignment, and decided to enjoy using them again in the new assignment.I was disappointed to find that they are smaller, do not write nearly as smoothly, and have a finer nub than the old ones. Then only time I am even semi-satisfied with their performance is when I am writing on porous paper. So overall I have to say that I feel I tossed out some good money on these. I should have bought some new gel pens, or something ... because these definitely are of lesser quality than Pilot Varsity Fountain Pens used to be even just a few years back.Pretty disappointing. | 8% There are no reviews yet | 0% There are no reviews yet | 0% There are no reviews yet |
Two Star Reviews: | 4% It writes excellent, sometimes October 5, 2017 I contacted the amazon seller about the pens, they weren’t much help, do I am writing a review. If the seller correct the problem, this review will change.I received these pens today. I have spent several hours attempting to test/break them in. It writes excellent, sometimes. Other times, it doesn’t write when going across the paper. It does not happen each time that I arrive. It seems to happen intermittently while I am writing. And up having to go back several times and correct letters that have not written. I was hoping to find a new brand of pens that suited me. I’m very disappointed with the in accuracy/inconsistency of this fen it does not happen each time that I write. It seems to happen intermittently while I am writing. And up having to go back several times and correct letters that have not written. I was hoping to find a new brand of pans that suited me. I’m very disappointed with the inconsistency of this pen.Perhaps it is just this batch of pens and not all of them. But, the ones I got do not meet my standards. Messy August 1, 2016 This is my first experience with a fountain pen. I purchased the 'fine' point and it produces a heavier line than I would expect. The ink also bleeds through paper. Would not recommend. Not very good March 14, 2015 Meh. Bring back the old Schaeffer cartridge pens I bought for $1 when I was a youngster. I know they won't be that price now, but the quality was higher and they worked better for us who are left-handed. Right-handed folks my find these work okay, but this "leftie" will not be re-ordering. | 3% Fountain tip pen not for calligraphy April 25, 2017 These pens are okay. If you happen to get ink on your hand, don't plan on it coming off anytime soon! I was expecting the tip to be like an actual fountain tip pen used for calligraphy, but it only writes with one standard width. On the other hand the colors are bright and very pretty. Not for writers. January 23, 2017 I am so disappointed by these. Mainly because I expected a fountain pen to write better than a gel pen. I tried all of the colors and they all write the same. It depends on how you hold it to get the flow you need, but I would be happy if the flow felt comfortable. One of the angles was so heavy that the ink seems to leak out. I preferred writing with the heavier ink but it doesn't even feel nice to write with because it's choppy. You'll see what I mean if you try it. I was disappointed by these February 18, 2016 I was disappointed by these; it's possible I am just not a fountain pen fan. The black one was completely empty, and the other two wrote such fat lines that they were not suitable for my purpose. If you love ballpoint or gel pens, tread carefully - these might not be for you ;) I started using the Platinum preppy which I loved. I read that these were a good pen ... September 2, 2015 I started using the Platinum preppy which I loved. I read that these were a good pen also so I purchased them. These came and wrote great for a while then the blue started getting really scratchy on the paper and the ink wont flow out of it. You have to write fast or the ink will soak through the paper or make blotchy spots if the pen stops for even a fraction of a second. I prefer the Platinum Preppy 0.03 MM compared to this 0.05 Not what I expected March 11, 2014 I am a pen fanatic and love fountain pens, however these pens do not writ like fountain pens. They write more like Crayola thin tip magic markers. The colors are very vibrant, but they write very thick, and bleed on most paper. I have thousands of pens, and unless you are just wanting a fancy expensive Crayola marker, I would not recommend them. Also if you lay to down for just a minute or two with the top off, it will dry very quickly. | 3% nope May 11, 2016 Pen spewed ink all over me , you decide. I want my money back. Or a replacement comparable product. Skip or stop writing randomly January 23, 2016 These pens are alright when they work well, but sometimes they skip or stop working all together to the point I think it's out of ink, only for it to randomly work again a few minutes later. They also bleed a lot through the paper which isn't a huge deal. I don't really use them anymore. Disappointed September 2, 2015 Does not write smoothly, so I was disappointed to say the least. Very scratchy, variable in darkness of writing. Wouldn't recommend for anyone I know. Abit disappointed August 13, 2015 It doesn't write as fine as I was hoping.. I write very small and fine and this pen doesn't write fine as I do so it makes my writing hard to read..ink flows abit too heavy so it makes fine writing hard. Inconsistent ink flow January 14, 2015 Pens randomly scratch or drag across the paper without any ink while writing. Terrible for taking notes. | 0% There are no reviews yet | 0% There are no reviews yet |

Does not write smooth and they run out of ink very fast. I am not happy with the product and am even more upset that I cannot return them for a refund. | 3% Medium point, not fine point June 22, 2017 I thought I would be receiving a fine point pen. They're medium point LAME. May 30, 2017 I don't understand why Amazon only lets you buy one of these. And then you can never buy another one again. Legit; a limit of one per customer ??? Makes zero sense. One Star March 29, 2016 The blue pen is dry after about a half-dozen uses for about five minutes apiece. Disappointing. Awful. March 16, 2016 These were some of the worst pens I've ever written with. The ink just bleed out in globs... no good. I was disappointed when I receive it March 16, 2015 I was disappointed when I receive it. I was supposed to get new product but it's been slightly used. And you can tell from the ink inside the pen and the seal is off. | 3% There are no reviews yet | 0% There are no reviews yet | 0% There are no reviews yet |
