Asome desk
Good cheap desk, have a vacuum ready
May 8, 2017
Desk is servicing me well so far and has survived a move. Obviously, the it's not the highest quality material but it's great for the price. Glass is pretty strong but I wouldn't stand on it or anything.Packaging was utter garbage though. The styrofoam disintegrated as you touched it and made a huge mess. Have a vacuum handy to deal with this.

easy to put together

easy to put together. 4 pieces and the glass. The 3 horizontal bars look the same but they aren't... there are holes in two of them that will allow you to put in the suction cups that the glass rest on.

My "CEO" Loves this Lamp
July 20, 2017
My girl friend loves this lamp! It's perfect for home work desk. This lamp does not get in her way like her previous one did, and it looks absolutely stunning with her desk! It's aesthetically pleasing and the lights work wonders. There's 4 lights, exactly like described but I don't know how to show it in the pictures. Maybe there's pictures that people already posted, but the lights are amazing! They're all different and they also look different. The lamp doesn't get in my girl friend's way of any of her work, and she can adjust where the light goes.

This lamp also has a USB port, which is plus for her! No more reach for her power strip that have her USB charger. According to her the Lamp is very classily and professional looking. Made for a "CEO." My girl friend loves this lamp, and she recommended it to her friend, and her friend also loves it!

It's definitely one of the cheaper lamps out there (I've done my research), or even average price so it's worth your money!
Really Good Lamp
May 25, 2017
This is a really versatile lamp that I enjoy using.

Pros:
-Multiple brightness modes; there are different preset hues for different scenarios each with adjustable brightness
-Recessed LED's; the led's are housed in level with the lamp hood so your eyes don't get hurt by piercing light.
-USB port for phone charging 5V 1A
-Adjustable Height; a must have for any lamp

Cons:
-plastic build feels kind of eh

Overall this is a super nice lamp that I can definitely recommend. This is my first LED lamp and I am really liking it.
This is one of the better desk lights I have
November 15, 2016
This is one of the better desk lights I have. Bought this because it was the #1 recommended Amazon deal, but I don't regret it. There are four settings: reading, study, relax. and sleep. In each individual setting you can also adjust the brightness of the light. The relax, reading, and sleep settings gives of a faint orange glow, while the study setting has the usual bright LED white light. The light is completely foldable and can be stored independently of the base. It has its own USB port for charging electronics.
My only complaint is the huge base it comes with (understandable, but still...) that just seems to occupy space. It would be nice if it came with a clip or a smaller base.
Excellent desk lamp with USB port
March 14, 2016
Great desk lamp esp. LED and usb charge port. This lamp is ideal for daughters desk for homework and excellent 4 lighting modes. This lamp I chose over several different brands came close to what was ideal for home. Simple and easy to use and the usb plug for charging comes in handy. This lamp is great for any desk from children to do homework or office setting. The outstanding part of this lamp is the arm which can be moved in a in a variety of positions and the base has a 180 degree for turning around etc., . Other lamps I reviewed didn't have the flexibility of various positions and was more expensive. Only one other LED lamp had a usb charge ports but it didn't have the flexibility or movement of the arm nor base turning. I highly recommend this model due to the pricing and flexibility of the lamp and usb port for charging.

This is a very good lamp. I have had zero issues. I have one on my desk and one on each night stand in my bedroom. Works great charging our phones while we sleep. I also love the sleep mode function. I get into bed, push the sleep mode, turn the tv on and boom off to sleep with everything turning off in an hour. Shameless plug = See my review in its entirety on you tube. Fantastic Chair Frustration Free Packaging and Assembly!
May 6, 2017
We have purchased three of these chairs and will buy one more to round out our home office. This chair is durable, comfortable, attractive and SO EASY to assemble. This is important: Low Frustration Assembly. EACH step was carefully labeled and individually packaged. Sure, putting one chair together, not a big deal. Putting three together in an afternoon, time-consuming. We love this chair very much. The quick and easy assembly was icing on the cake. Thank you, Amazon!
A great chair for the whole family
May 4, 2017
My husband, my three teenagers and I all love this chair! It was easy to put together. It looks nice. It's not huge, but it's big enough to accommodate my family member's various sizes (5'4"-6'4", 150-230lbs). It fits nicely under the desk. It allows for you to sit with good posture. I have three herniated discs in my back and am very picky about where I sit. This chair is comfortable and the back is very supportive. And it was a great price!
Good replacement chair
January 20, 2017
I ordered this chair for a few reasons: The chair I was using was getting old (circa 1998) and was a tad bit worn out, I was curious about the build quality of Amazon Basics products, and this chair looked pretty nice for the price. When the chair arrived, the packaging was pretty nice. All of the different pieces were clearly labeled and the bolts and washers etc were clearly labeled also. The chair was really easy to put together, it was a little frustrating using the hex wrench but that was my fault for not going to the garage to get my own tools for it. Once the chair was together it looks like a solid office chair. It is a comfortable chair to sit on, I like the mid back support as my previous chair's back did not go as high as this one. I'm 5 foot 9 in. (1.75 m) with short legs and a long torso and the back of the chair reaches the bottom of my shoulder blades, which gives good support. What worried me about other reviews was the placement of the arm rests. Like others have said, they are pretty low. If I'm sitting straight in the chair and let my arms relax on the arm rests, only my hands and wrists touch them, my elbows just sort of dangle there. Its surprisingly not uncomfortable though, and while typing it doesn't really bother me to not be able to rest my arms on the arm rests. Overall I'm happy with the chair, and it is definitely worth the price.
Good value for the $
February 22, 2016
All around good value for the $. Easy to assemble - the fasteners are all individually labeled and they supply an allen wrench to use for assembly. The only slightly confusing part is that the arms are labeled left and right, but when you are staring at the bottom of the seat during assembly you wonder if they mean as you are currently looking at it or right side up. It's right side up.Also, there was another comment about a size 10 woman not being able to get her rump in the chair which I found hard to believe. My size 12 wife easily got in and out without contacting the arm rests. No need to squeeze or smush any parts to get into this chair.
I wanted something that would help me have better sitting posture and this chair is doing exactly that ...
March 20, 2015
Just wanted to post a positive review after one month of daily use. Replaced a larger more expensive chair, and this one is proving to be a positive experience. I wanted something that would help me have better sitting posture and this chair is doing exactly that for me. I am 6ft - 200 pound male and it works perfectly for someone my size if that is a question anyone is looking to answer, glad I purchased it.
A Much-Longer-Than-Needed Review for a Chair
January 12, 2015
I'm a big fan of amazon. I needed a chair. AmazonBasics had a chair. So I bought it.The thought of an Amazon brand chair was exciting to me. I needed an office chair and I wasn't willing nor was I capable of affording a Herman Miller, or a Steelcase, and so on. I've had $200 Staples/Costco chairs and they're okay, but typically not that much better than a chair such as this one. Rather than buying the cheapest generic chair from some generic Chinese company, it was appealing that a company that I have found to be reliable had their own to offer.Assembly: Out of the box, nothing was missing or broken. A booklet is included with very clear instructions and the hardware is separated and labeled in plastic bags; very well executed. One thing that bothered me is when you attach the back cushion under the seat it overlaps with the seat plate. I thought I did something wrong so I took it apart and put it back together for no reason, delaying the assembly process (I might have OCD). In the end, it doesn't seem to be a problem.Comfort/Functionality: The seat cushion is very thick and firm, it's probably my favorite thing about this chair. I LOVE THE SEAT CUSHION. Same goes for the back mesh, comfortable with good support. The pneumatic lift works well. The chair comes with a tilt lock and tilt tension adjusting knob, very basic. The caster wheels are very smooth. I don't really care for the arm rests, but there's nothing wrong with them I suppose. They are placed relatively low, my elbow does not even reach them so I don't use them (I'm 5'8" btw). I'm guessing they did this so that the chair could easily be pushed into the desk without clearance issue. Again, this is not important to me but take it into consideration when buying. No complaints at all. The chair feels very sturdy, nothing creaks or rattles or anything. It's a solid chair.Summary: I'm pleasantly surprised by this chair. It definitely exceeded my expectations and I can see myself using it for a long time to come. It's a comfortable and sturdy, no-frills, no-nonsense office chair. Well worth the money. I really like the seat cushion... I highly recommend it.

Great desk
August 21, 2017
Completely satisfied with this desk, although it feels more like a small table, can easily fit 2 laptops side by side and have room for a notebook as well. It took me longer to unpack and read the assembly instructions than it did to actually put it together. Total assembly time was less than 20 mi, its only 5 metal pieces, 14 screws and the glass top. Only thing prevent me from giving it 5 stars is the glass top is slightly bigger than the frame, so there is about 1/8" of the glass that extends beyond the frame.
Minor fault but nice
August 13, 2017
Overall very sturdy desk. The only fault I had with mine is that plastic end caps for the legs can pop off very easily.
If you want to pay half price, don't expect the same quality
December 17, 2016
Obviously it's a rip off of the Crate and Barrel Pilsen. You should compare it by looks alone.Quality is lacking, but for the price you can say it's expected, so I'm still giving it a good rating. They were really cheap with manufacturing this however. In the spots where it has a tin weld, it's not even welded all the way around leaving a gap.I wasn't able to get the glass exactly square.Took 3 times to get this.First time UPS never delivered it.Second time they shattered the glass. It's not well packed at all.

Decent desk for the money
May 26, 2016
This desk looks nice and sleek, especially for the price. Easy to assemble although instructions are vague. I did it myself. As other reviewers have mentioned, it's the same specs and fraction of the price of a similar (exact same?) desk at a higher end retail store.Cons:-I wish it were an inch or so longer and deeper. It's slightly too small for a laptop, monitor and keyboard but would be fine for 1-2 of those things or books/writing.-I don't like how the glass sits on top but so far so good. Just take care when placing it (alignment) because it's heavy, so once it's on there and suctions to the top it's hard or impossible to move or adjust it again.-There's no storage space but would be easy to find something to match it

Nicely Designed LED Desk Lamp
December 14, 2016
I'm not certain why anyone would pay over $100 dollars for this lamp, but at the $30 dollar range it is sound purchase. It is well packaged upon arrival. I really enjoy the features that not only allow you to vary the light intensity, but also the color temperature. The 60 minute time and USB port are also nice features. Some reviewers have reported a "wobbly" base. I don't find that to be the case as it is designed to swivel. All-in-all I am quite satisfied.
Really great light, but with a couple drawbacks.
November 13, 2016
This light is something I really wanted to love, and I'm giving it a higher than average score for the simple reason that it seems to have a really solid build quality, nice finish, and a fantastic spread of light.

I hesitated before deciding whether to deduct one or two stars for the following reasons: Mainly, and part of the fault is on me for not determining this before ordering the lamp, but the hinge at the top of the arm only swings up and down. As many other reviewers have pointed out (and I probably should have paid more attention to them,) it would have been so much nicer if the angle of the light could be rotated with respect to the arm itself.

It's a sleek light, has some really cool features, and I've found a secondary spot for mine where it does not function as a desk lamp as originally intended, but works great with the timer/color temperature features and even the relatively weak USB charging port, while an obvious last-minute addition, is still a nice touch.

I'd recommend it on build quality and other features - this is a solid piece, make no doubt about that. Just measure the level in which it will stand above your desk and picture just how much of that light will be right in your face, should you decide to use it on a desk. It also consumes very little power and provides a whole lot of light, which of course, can be adjusted to your liking or needs. If only the neck would bend, it'd be an instant five stars, and would be well deserved. Just consider that before pulling the trigger.
Stylish and Practical. Fair warning: this is not a USB-charged lamp. Plugs into the wall.
January 30, 2016
It was a lot bigger than I expected, but this is a great lamp. What I love most about it is the different settings for yellow and white light. I mostly like to work on the "sleep" mode because I have very light-sensitive eyes, but the other settings are great when you need extra light for reading. I also have found the swivel feature very useful. I'm left handed, and often changing the angle of the lamp means I'm not casting a shadow on the paper as I write (which really helps!). I've also used the USB charger features quite a few times and found it very practical. When I bought this, I thought the USB charger meant this was a wireless lamp--that was my mistake for not reading carefully. Even though this is a traditional outlet lamp, I still enjoy it a good deal.
Overall good light, but useless USB charge port and light head does not rotate sideways
August 19, 2015
It's incredibly hard to find any specification on this light before actually purchase it, so I bought it and will share the specs with every one.
1. Voltage: AC 100-240V input DC 12V 1.5A output.
2. LED: 27 LEDs, 3 rows 9 LED for each row. 2 outer rows are white leds while the center row is yellow led.
3. Power consumption: 5-11W depend on brightness
4. Lumen: 530LM (I assume at max brightness)
5. Color Temp: 2500-7000K
6. 4 modes: (5 brightness for each mode)
Reading: 4300~5300K (all yellow & white LEDs equally on)
Study: 6000~7000K (mostly outer row white LEDs w/ little center row yellow ones)
Relax: 4300~5300K (mostly center row yellow LEDs w/ a little white LEDs)
Sleep: 2500~3300K (only center row yellow LEDs illuminate)

The light is mostly good except the light can only be opened up and down and doesn't rotate sideways. Say if you wanna use it on a piano, you'd want the light head to be able to rotate.
1x 1A USB charge port on the side, which is pretty much useless since most cell phone or tablet require over 1.5A to charge in reasonable time.
Very good, not perfect, lamp.
May 16, 2015
Very nice lamp; seems to be made well, stable - works as advertised, bright enough in the center of the light zone - it does drop off fairly quickly. Its biggest weakness is that, while the head swivels left and right about the vertical axis, it would be much more functional, IMHO, if the head also rotated on its horizontal axis. The light is just high enough that it is just in my field of vision, and while it can be angled downwards, cannot be simply lowered parallel to the desk. Anyhow, it is my fault for not realizing this situation was not optimal for me, so no real complaint about that - but I would not buy this again - I think the newer model may be better from this point of view.

Great chair.
August 24, 2017
This chair arrived on time, was easy to assemble and looks great at my desk. I needed something with good lower back support and the shape of the sturdy mesh back is very supportive. I can adjust lean and height easily. Not 5 stars because arm height is not adjustable and seat cushion is hard (but not uncomfortable). I recommend.
Simple, cheap, reasonably good looking task chair
June 23, 2017
Sturdy, comfortable chair, especially if a firm chair is your thing. One complaint is that the arm rests are incredibly low. I'm a pretty normally proportioned 5'11" guy, and it takes effort to get my arms to touch them. I'll probably remove them, as the chair doesn't rely on them for structural stability.Simple assembly with all tools included. It took me about 10 minutes from box to chair.
Overall great chair with room for a armrest improvements
February 20, 2017
Overall I like this chair, especially for the price. Assembly was a breeze. All parts were clearly labeled. Whomever packaged the parts and wrote the assembly instruction booklet couldn't have made it more clear and easy. (A rarity.)I find the cushion to be comfortable and of medium firmness. I would've paid more if the arm height was adjustable, or if at a minimum were able to be lifted out of the way against the back of the chair making the chair essentially armless. I find the fixed arms to be about an inch too low, but if I am just sitting back, relaxing in the chair, my wrists rest on the armrest and it's better than nothing. The height of the chair was very important to me. It was hard to find accurate measurements, so as soon as I put the chair together, I took my own measurements. I hope someone else will find it helpful....The seat is 19" wide x 18" deep. The height to the top of the seat at it's lowest setting is 17.5" and 22.25" at it's highest. The seat height sinks about 7/16" when you sit in it. Because the seat is rounded in the front and not perfectly flat, it makes measuring the height difficult. I placed a thin piece of cardboard on the seat, then a quart sized paint can on top so it wasn't floating. I then measured from the floor to the bottom of the cardboard. I posted a few pictures. (Sorry if they are sideways...they are the correct way on my computer and nothing I did uploaded them right side up on Amazon.)Floor to top of arm height is 23 5/8" at lowest seat height setting and 28 3/8" at highest seat setting. (To determine if it will roll under a desk. This is also difficult to measure as the arm rest is curved. I measured the middle of the arm rest.)Fixed arm height is about 6.25" from top of seat to top of arm.Note many reviewers complained that during assembly of the back rest to the seat cushion, the metal back bar frame overlapped the seat plate. They must have updated the assembly instructions at some point because the instructions clearly state, "the metal back bar frame will overlap on the seat plate." They then show a diagram showing the overlap with another note,"back bar will overlap seat plate when aligning to holes." So, this is not a design flaw but intentional.Overall, I am very happy with the chair. I use it about 4-5hr a day, 5 days a week. So far after 3 months it is holding up well.
Overall it's a good chair. I think the armrests are a little ...
June 22, 2016
Overall it's a good chair. I think the armrests are a little low and the seat is a little firm (it will probably soften over time), but otherwise I like it. It was very easy to assemble -- took about 20 minutes. I like that all you need is the Allen wrench (supplied) and that they send along a few extra screws/bolts in case you need them. I had to study the design a bit since the plate on the backrest overlapped the plate of the base/wheels. I came to the conclusion that it was designed that way to provide some structural support. I like the backrest...firm and ventilated. For the price, I'm pleased.
Pretty Basic, But Excellent Value...
April 18, 2016
This is a fairly comfortable chair. I bought this to go with a new desk that I purchased (Computer Desk With Ample Storage. Color: Chocolate). I don't use my desktop much anymore, but I do still need it, and wanted a desk and chair that wasn't too outrageously priced. This chair is just that. If you are spending several hours a day at a desk I probably would not recommend that you buy this chair. On the positive side, the assembly was easy. It took me a total of about 15 minutes to put this together. All of the screws/bolts had a bit of locktite on them, which I like because past desk chairs that I have had, the screws backed out over time. The locktite is intended to prevent that from occurring. The hex key provided to assembly the chair was adequate for the assembly. The packaging for the small loose parts (i.e. screws, & washers) were neatly packaged, and easily identifiable. Instructions were clearly written with clear drawings to show which parts were to be used at each step. I like the padding in the seat of the chair, it is of a good quality. The mesh back rest provides decent air flow.
This is a comfortable chair that can be easily assembled
December 20, 2015
This is a comfortable chair that can be easily assembled. I assembled it on my own without help from other people AND the only tool you need is the wrench included in the package. It is a perfect size for me (I'm 5'4" and 115 lb and I like sitting with my leg crossed). The seat cushion is nice too. I haven't owned this chair long enough to talk about its durability though. Some other reviewers mentioned that there are misaligned holes on the seat, making it impossible to attach the back to the seat. My chair has the same misalignment issue (which is why I gave 4 stars but not 5) but it can still be set up properly. I guess the two metal pieces aren't supposed to be overlapping, but I don't think this has made the chair less comfortable or less sturdy, so I'm still happy with this purchase with the price.

A light with marginal performance.
January 12, 2017
This desk lamp is compact and has adjustable light output. I have some issues with it. The first one is the touch control keyboard. If your hands are clean and dry like in the winter the keyboard will not respond to touch. It does not matter how hard you press it will not change levels or turn on and off. This makes the lamp unusable at times. I found that if my fingers were wet it would improve, but it would still require several attempts to turn on or change settings. Annoying at best. The maximum light output is not as bright as expected being far less than a 60w equivalent curly florescent bulb I previously used. I still have to turn my old light on when doing detail work. I had to use a dry lubricant on the swivel base to allow it to move, otherwise you had to use two hands to re position, with on hand to hold down the base and the other to move the light. Very clumsy. You again need two hands with one holding down the base if you want to re-position the up/down angle of the light. Really? If I could have tried this out in a display first, I would not have purchased and looked for something better.

Okay for certain needs—as long as you get the right price on this widely OEM'd lamp
June 5, 2016
This review applies to the Essentials 38001 and LAMPAT brand LED touch-controlled desk lamps; they are identical in every respect except for the packaging, manufacturer logo, and sale price.

This lamp is slender, which makes it easy to slip between multiple monitors on a crowded desk. Unfortunately, the lamp base is rather large, which isn't good on a crowded desk. However, the large base is sufficiently heavy to make the lamp quite stable, without being ridiculously weighty. The neck stays put but doesn't require much effort to adjust. It would have been nice if the lamp were designed with the option to use a screw-on desk clamp, even if that were an extra-cost item.

The lamp doesn't give off a lot of light. Out of the box, it's about equal to a 40-watt incandescent light, perhaps a bit less, and is very directional. It will give good task light to about than a square yard of desk at the highest setting when using the "Relax" color setting, which comes the closest to a "warm white" LED/CFL in color temperature. Although these lamps claim a high color-rendering index, the light quality seems a little off. Compared to a name-brand A19 (standard) LED bulb (such as Sylvania, GE, Philips, or Cree), the light quality just isn't as good as I've come to expect from modern LED lighting. It's more like the store-brand LED lights you saw five years ago.

The lamp uses two rows of blue-white LEDs and one row of red-white LEDs, and alters their relative brightness depending on the mode you set.

The touch controls are responsive. They offer no tactile feedback, so you have to look at them to use the controls. The controls face forward, so you can't put tall stuff on the unit's large base. The power cord plugs into the back with a barrel connector.

The USB charging port seems hit-or-miss. Of two lamps purchased, one port works, the other does not. On the one that works, an iPhone 4S recognizes it and charges fine.

The LEDs are not recessed much within the top bar of the light; you'll want to aim them slightly down from your eyeline to avoid glare. If you are using the lamp next to a monitor with a glossy surface, this may make it difficult to find a position where you don't have direct glare or reflected glare.

The power cord is average length and terminates in a power brick. The brick is reasonably lightweight (probably a switching power supply) but fairly bulky in shape for its rated output. It's an old-fashioned design that will block multiple outlets on a power strip (horizontal or vertical). A smaller, more plug-sized transformer would be nice, even if it meant giving up the not-so-useful USB charging port.

This lamp seems to be OEM'd by a number of vendors. It's worthwhile to shop around on Amazon and compare prices; they vary widely for what is the same lamp. For $20 to $25, it's a decent lamp if you need something slender and directional. However, I wouldn't pay $30 or more for it.
Not worth $60. Not even $40.
March 27, 2015
The Good: Lighting quality is great. I love the 4 available light modes and the ability to brighten/dim the selected modes.

The Bad: The USB 1.0 charger is a nice feature but with modern phones requiring more output this one will not charge my phone.

The Ugly: I don't know if its my lamp in particular but this this is CHEAP. I have to "Over set" my desired location/angle I want the light to sit at due to the immense amount of wiggle in the joints. All of the screws have been checked and tightened but this thing wiggles and wobbles like a car driving on square wheels.

The center base joint does not twist 180* it only goes 170*. While some of you may think this is obnoxious, I personally have mine butted against a wall and when it cant even line up with the wall, it bugs the heck out of me.

Final thoughts: Is this worth the $60 price? FAR from it. At best, $25. Am I going to keep it? Probably.. All other similar models or lamps between this price range ($30-60) look like the same cheap build. Not worth the hassle of a RMA..

Not as bright as I had anticipated
November 20, 2014
I was looking for a bright desk lamp, mainly to light up a computer keyboard and occasionally the innards of computers I repair. I tried this LAMPAT unit first but ended up returning it. To my eye it was too industrial looking (I use it in my den), the base was overly large, and the light was not as bright as I had hoped, and tended to reflect in my monitor. On the plus side, it had pretty good reach, and the touch sensitive switch worked well.

Not bad, not great, you get what you pay for
June 19, 2017
Easy to put together and the price is right. Arms are not comfortable at all. I regret skimping out on my chair--I should have spent some extra money to get a nicer chair. But it serves its purpose and isn't too expensive. If you're going to be in this chair every single day, get a different chair. If you just need an extra desk chair in an office or something this will work just fine.
Good chair for the price
April 19, 2017
This is a good to average office chair. It is easy to assemble and sturdy. It is a solid chair, but it is not as refined as other chair in the $100 range. I guess you get what you are paying for. It is by no means a bad product. The chair is solid and works as expected no issues thus far. It is comfortable. It does leave me wanting to spend the extra money to get a more refined chair. There is a lot of hard plastic and lower quality materials. But it all works good and are solid for the price. The only minor issue with the chair is that the fabric gets balled up.
Good Chair, Needs Better Arm Rests
January 11, 2017
Decent chair for its price, easy to assemble, and good quality. I think they could make a few adjustments that would better suit the customers. I would pay an additional 10$ or more for adjustable armrest. I'm 6'1" and have broad shoulders, the arm rests are too low so the only way I get to rest my arms are with my elbows.Pros:Mostly comfortableForces good postureGood qualityEasy AssemblyCons:Armrests to are low, needs to be adjustableDoesn't support my upper back, that could be because the armrests are forcing my upper back to slouch.Rough armrests, wouldn't mind being more comfortable but I'm being picky at that.
Ok product that doesn't stand up to test of time
December 1, 2016
Overall a decent product with faulty parts. The cushion wears down in 2-3 months and the wheels become uneven quickly as they wear down causing the chair to wobble.
Overall a Good Bargain - for a student
November 12, 2016
This is not a high end, long lasting chair. The mesh back is not the elastic mesh I would want for a business chair. However, for a college student this will work just fine. The base could be slightly larger for added stability, and the back should be more comfortable. We've had it now for about 2 months and it works just fine. It came with all parts and instructions and was easy to put together. I will also say that the student I bought this for is over 6 ft. 4 in. tall and at full extension fits him just fine.
Invest in a higher quality, more adjustable chair if you plan on using this as a main chair.
September 11, 2016
First off, I'm 6' 4'' so take that into account with this review. There isn't really a good way to sit comfortably in this chair. The arms are way too low, the back support is too far over the chair, and the choice is to either sit with your chest leaning over your legs, or sit with your bottom halfway through the seat and lean back (with horrible posture). It's fine if you plan on sitting for <1 an hour, but I would suggest not using this as your main desk chair. Spend a few extra dollars, go out and find a chair that fits you well. It's not worth saving a little money and getting a subpar office chair. I got a new, nicer chair less than 2 months of having this guy.Since then, I took off the arm rests, and use it as a chair to practice guitar in. For that, it's fine.

Really could not tell you

I am sorry to say that I did not have the opportunity to have this product. When I got it, it was in a thousand pieces.Did not re-order because I was afraid the same thing would happen again. Sorry
OK if you want cheap construction
May 18, 2016
The welding on the joints are only on the tops and bottoms of the metal, leaving gaps on the sides. There was metal from the punched holes left inside the frame that rattled and made the sound of a rain stick. I had to pop off the plastic end caps to remove these pieces. I'd spend a little more and get something with better construction.

It's just ok
June 18, 2017
The lamp is ok. It worked well at first but the cord quickly stopped working, it would turn on and off with any slight movement or touch of a cord. In addition the lamp is not sturdy, when trying to move it up or at a certain angle it flops down.
Cool lamp but flickering after just a few uses
December 19, 2016
I received this lamp on December 8 and unpacked it right away. Packaging was great, assembly super easy. I've used it about 8 times since I received it, a few hours each time. I like the different logging options, as well as the brightness levels.

The last two times I used it I noticed flickering. Looking at the bulb panel it doesn't seem to be coming from one particular bulb. I thought the last time I used it that maybe it was reacting to being on for over 4 hours, but I've just turned it on for the first time in 3 days and it's flickering. Unfortunately, I have to turn it off and deem it unusable because the flickering of course, is annoying. Other reviews seem to be great so I'm hoping this is just a faulty unit that can be easily replaced by Amazon.
Meh
June 6, 2016
For $30 its not terrible... but its not great either.

Cons:
- Flimsy plastic make it unstable and overall cheap
- Limited angles at which you can direct the light
- Power plug is the type that either has to go into the wall or take the end of a power strip
- takes up a surprising amount of space (I think due to this "L" shape design - personal opinion)

Pros:
- Cheap
- Decent settings
- Does get bright
Not for me
April 15, 2016
Two things to note about the lamp that I wished that I knew before buying it. One: there's a little light on the plug-in part. It's green when it's plugged in. The light bothered me during night time. Secondly, I had the light set to reading which is the brightest setting to read to my kids at night. When I turned it back on in the early morning, it turns on using that reading light which is too bright for my eyes just waking up. I decided to return it for those 2 reasons. I'd like a lamp that starts out with low lighting and gets brighter as you touch it. And another aspect--the base doesn't respond to touch, only that small part is touch-sensitive.
Glare problem
December 13, 2015
Brightness: good, more than you need for reading
Brightness and color adjustability: adequate, though it would be nice if it were more finely adjustable
Control panel: good
Glare: bad. The top bar isn't adjustable to rotate toward or away from you, and the light is bright even from the side, so unless you put it down below the level of your eyes, you'll get a lot of direct glare. (And you can't position it that low without using a lot of horizontal space.)
Flexibility: limited. It would be nice if the top bar could rotate toward or away from you.
Size of base: the base is a larger than I thought it would be. Probably too large if your desk space is cramped.
Appearance: the base smudges really easily with fingerprints, and they don't easily wipe off.

Not good, only passable
September 22, 2017
I weigh 230 lbs and am 6'4" - I sit in a Herman Miller at work and enjoy it.The seat of the chair is too shallow and presses against the bottom of my legs, which limits circulation. This is because the front edge of the seat rises. The seat itself is semi bowl shaped, where the Herman Miller slopes down subtly at the front edge so there is limited pressure. The back of the chair shifts side to side when you move giving it an unstable feel. Additionally, neither the seat nor the back is particularly comfortable. It feels like a cheap chair because it is. This chair feels like something you buy at a yard sale. You would be better off checking craigslist of Nextdoor and hoping someone wants to ditch ANY office chair for $20.However, I wouldn't send it back because getting into the box would be a hassle and I still need something in the office when the office is used. If I spent any real time working on my office, this chair would not be acceptable.
This is the worst purchase I have made from Amazon
May 24, 2017
Cheap made chair. I weigh 134 lb and I have had this chair a week, the cushion is already starting to get flat and very uncomfortable. This is the worst purchase I have made from Amazon. BAD QUALITY.I want to return this item.
Horrible even at the low price
May 1, 2017
I dread to think of the number of people forced to sit in this chair for hours a day. The back support is non-existent, the arms are uncomfortable and the seat cushion is terrible. If you need to sit in a chair for more than 10 minutes at a time do yourself a favor and spend a little more on a decent one.
Set-up and assembly was quite easy and self explanatory so I give that full marks
July 10, 2016
Owned this chair long enough now to get a solid opinion on it.Set-up and assembly was quite easy and self explanatory so I give that full marks.Sturdiness/product build quality is up there, doubt this thing will break on me anytime soon.My main problem lies in comfort!A lot of reviews said this was comfortable for long periods of time and it had a good cushion but it really doesn't...The cushion is there, but it doesn't actually cushion anything it is pretty stiff and uncomfortable even after an hour which is why I rate this so low. I feel very letdown by this chair honestly, and had I known it would have been this uncomfortable I would have simply saved myself $70 and went to get a different one although it's too late.....If you only plan to use it for like 30 minutes at a time then why not, but for someone who needs to sit down for hours at a time throughout the day for work this is definitely not the chair you will want!
Seemed like an all-around good chair
June 19, 2016
First ever review, but I thought it was worth telling my story.Bought the chair, assembled it. Seemed like an all-around good chair, and quite comfortable. Then I realized that the lift for the seat was malfunctioning. The chair sank every time I sat on it. I.e., the lift failed to stay up.I started to disassemble the chair to return it, and I soon realized that I couldn't get the lift off the star-shaped base, and I couldn't get the seat plate off of the lift. Realizing it was stuck and that I wouldn't be able to fit it in the box to return, I called customer service. Amazon's customer service reps were VERY nice and accommodating. I received a full refund, and I'm allowed to keep the chair (though I don't know what I'll do with it).Just a heads up for anyone considering this chair.
dissapointed
April 5, 2016
I just got my chair yesterday, my husband put it togetherWhat I like about the chair :1) it looks great2) good price3) very sturdyWhat I don't like and hope Amazon fixes:1) the arm rests- they are too short and is the same as if it had none , not sure what Amazon was thinking. This should be adjustable or at best, the right heighth2) The seat is very firm , I would have like a little more plush, but wouldn't mind this so much if it wasn't for the low arms3) overall not comfortable for me who needs an all day chair, I work from home. For a short period of time use is fine.I would love to return this but it is such a hassle to take apart and ship back. not sure what I will do.

An expensive but cool looking paper weight - not much of a lamp.
November 27, 2016
This lamp lasted exactly 5 months. It was plugged in at my desk and never moved.

I am a long-time Amazon member and don't leave unfair reviews but this lamp lasted exactly five (5) months. It was plugged in at my desk, never moved, never handled roughly and now serves as an expensive paper weight.
At first it was nice. The adjustable color works well
May 27, 2016
I purchase this lamp around 6 months ago. At first it was nice. The adjustable color works well, as well as the brightness levels. The problem is that is now constantly flickers on and off. When it is turned off it will randomly flicker on. I have it at my desk at work and had to unplug it because it was driving the people around me crazy.
Now it has taken to occasionally just turning on when it is off (rather than just flickering) and none of the buttons on front will react to anything, so I have to unplug it. I am going to look in to returning this.
I think I received a lemon :(
December 11, 2015
It stopped working for several hours after the first week. Thought it was broken but after a few hours it works as designed.

Update 2016
Great lamp, when it works. It's stopped working three times now... for no apparent reason... and then a few days later it works again. I am sure it's a lemon since most reviews are good. But three strikes and you have to be returned.
Not enough light for those of us over 40
August 20, 2015
It's a proven fact that people over 40 need 40 % more light intensity (read lumens) than someone under 40 to perform a task - such as reading.
Very low light output. Who can read with this?

Waited too long to return. Going to Goodwill.
Nice design but poor durability
November 9, 2014
Nice design but poor durability. The controls stopped working after 5 days. Only one of the five settings still switches on, sometimes, and the lamp spontaneously jumps from one brightness setting to another.

Came with a little surprise
October 5, 2017
The box the package came in was clearly damaged but didn't have openings. That being said, the product was full of small rocks and rat crap inside, so they likely got in before shipping. The chair itself is high quality but had a rat stench in the cushion. Even though it's unlikely most people will encounter the same problem, I recommend staying away from Amazonbasic products and purchasing from dedicated brands through Amazon. I'm just happy I didn't meet a new friend in the box.
defective or anyway not comfortable and useless
September 17, 2017
Doesn't tilt at all, defective or anyway not comfortable and useless. Maybe I didn't assembly it well [I doubt it] but I can't sit on this thing. Glad it works for others though..

Did Not Work for Me
November 2, 2016
I am 5'4" and this chair is too uncomfortable for me. After just a few hours my back is hurting to much to continue using it.
Broken piece
September 17, 2016
Chair came with a broken piece, I realized this half way through assembling it. Called Amazon and all they offered was a replacement after I shipped back the chair that was already halfway put together and to hard to take apart because of the broken piece. Do not recommend, from reading other comments now I see that others were broken or defective as well.
ErgoNope
August 24, 2016
The seat gets hot in a hurry. The cushion is particularly hard compared to chairs I've used in the past. It is the singularly most uncomfortable chair I've ever owned. I'm buying another chair that will hopefully be better. But owie! My back has been killing me for days and I spend a good deal of time at the computer/desk area studying for law school.
