Five Star Reviews: | 55% Perfect for rot iron repair May 21, 2016 This worked exactly like it says. I used it for a rusted hole in a rot iron fence. It sands great then I painted it and you can't even tell there was a rust hole! ... the softness of the foam (does not dry firm like GreatStuff). February 19, 2016 Doesn't lift or risk cracking the thing you are spraying it behind thanks to the minimal expansion and the softness of the foam (does not dry firm like GreatStuff). Great minimally expanding foam sealant with non-flammable propellant March 7, 2015 The key advantage of this foam over other minimally expanding can foams is the non-flammable propellant. Since use of freon as a propellant was outlawed, all the other brands use propane or similar propellant and are extremely flammable. This one can be used indoors without taking strong precautions to avoid ignition. It works very well for filling gaps around pipes, insulating when installing doors and windows and the like. I wouldn't use it for covering large areas (like a rim joist) or filling things like floats, etc. I had no trouble filing a gap of several inches where a beam went through a wall, and smaller gaps are no issue at all. Like every other can foam it can be messy and sticks to everything, so wear disposable gloves and use eye protection. It does continue to ooze out of the tube a bit after you stop dispensing, but not as much as high-expansion foams.Although the description says it will spray in any orientation I didn't find that to be the case. the can needs to be upside down (nozzle on the bottom) for it to work (just like every other can foam). Excellent low expansion foam. February 2, 2015 Unlike some other reviewers, I had no issues with this product becoming 'crumbly' or soft after injecting it into some cracks. Used this to fill some gaps between wall and floor where new tiles didn't quite reach far enough, and it worked very well. I wanted low expansion so the foam would not expand out over the tile, and this product performed that task perfectly. Best for aplications where high expansion is not desired. September 27, 2013 This expands less and cures denser. It is very useful in areas where expansion of most foams would be a problem. The increased density also makes for a stronger fill. It is also the only one I have found that allows cutting off of the excess after partial or full curing. I know that I will have to do some trimming anyway and all of the other foams I have found say not to. I am using it to fill out the side panels on a motor home. The panels are made of a steel frame with insulation and plywood sandwiched between fiberglass outer sheets. The ply and insulation has deteriorated. This foam provides a denser fill that makes the panels solid again and can be trimmed where it leaks out. It is still necessary to brace the outer skin to prevent it from being pushed out during expansion but the expansion is less than the other kinds and more manageable. I find this more useful for structural use than just filling holes where air gets in around pipes.Robs opinion:For structural work it is the only one. If you just want to fill some holes where the air gets in get the cheap stuff. | 65% There are no reviews yet | 0% There are no reviews yet | 0% There are no reviews yet |
Four Star Reviews: | 15% Eh. March 16, 2017 Works well enough, I wouldn't call it "minimal expansion" though...it expands up the same as any other brand I've used. Kinda regretting spending the extra money on this kind good stuff September 4, 2016 Worked as needed. Careful.....the foam expands more than you would expect for "minimal expansion" Four Stars March 31, 2015 worked great, didn't expand to crazy proportions like the yellow foam does. great for doors/windows Did as it was suppose to do. March 8, 2015 Did what it was suppose to do. Nothing special, i have no real complaints other than it didnt seem like the can lasted very long. It does what it says it does. December 11, 2013 It does what it says it does. This is the only brand where the applicator did not leak where it joined the can. It isn't a 360 degree applicator as advertised, however. I tried and it failed. | 16% Not a brand I will go back to for this application. September 20, 2017 Mixed carefully, still cured unevenly. A step below real old fashioned epoxy. Great product to have for someone who does much work ... January 6, 2017 Wish I knew about this product earlier in life.Great product to have for someone who does much work around the house. Great stuff! Follow the directions or it will harden ... October 22, 2016 Great stuff! Follow the directions or it will harden before you try to apply it. Spread thin after mixing and I suggest be 100% ready to apply. Don't overdo the hardner. ;) Works pretty well, but hardens very quickly so it's hard to use. July 23, 2016 Seems to hold up very well. It goes hard very quickly, so you'll only have like 3-4 minutes of work time per batch. Works well. Easy to use. Cures quickly. Included a tube of red hardener. December 7, 2015 This product works the same as the Bondo plastic flller I used as a teen to make repairs to autobody, and uses the same cream hardener, but the color is beige/tan to resemble wood. As other reviewers commented, expect some settling to occur in the can. My can of Bondo Wood Filler included a tube of red hardener, which when mixed with the beige/tan Bondo, turned a salmon color. Since I intended to prime and paint the repaired area, the color of the hardener wasn't an issue, but you need to use the white hardener if you don't want to change the color of the Bondo. The product cures quickly, depending on the amount of hardener used, and sands easily. I tend to use less hardener to allow more time to mix and apply the product. I was facing a $1,600 expense to replace a 4-casement baedroom window. By using Bondo Wood Filler, I was able to repair the rotted wood and defer having to replace the window. hopefully for a few more years. I attached photos of the window before and after. good product October 3, 2015 i've used this before and think it's a good product. the only problem is how fast it sets up in hot weather. keep that in mind. it's been in the 90'shere in l.a. and even working in the shade to repair termite damage required extra fast filling. | 0% There are no reviews yet | 0% There are no reviews yet |
Three Star Reviews: | 4% It's foam, and it's a sealant, but . . August 30, 2016 this expanded a great deal more than "minimal" would suggest. I ended up spending just as much time trimming as I would have with a $6 can of Great Stuff from Home Depot. Also, there was not much in the can. Ran out after 10 feet. | 9% There are no reviews yet | 0% There are no reviews yet | 0% There are no reviews yet |
Two Star Reviews: | 13% Not low expansion foam September 17, 2017 Minimal expansion my a$$. Appears to expand about 5-8x, so it works just like any other canned urethane foam. Expanded and how has to be trimmed off. Costs considerably more than other available name brand foam. Eh. October 15, 2016 I can't tell a difference between this stuff and the "great stuff" brand open cell foam. This stuff still expands quite a bit, it seems more like 100% than the claimed 50%. For a closed cell foam, seems to be nothing but air on the inside. The outside of the dried foam looks solid, but if you cut into it, it's full of open areas. It worked where I used it, but I'm glad those areas aren't really important, because I don't trust this stuff. I used some outside, and put several coats of paint on it, so it should be okay. Thus product is ok. However, there is no ... August 29, 2016 Thus product is ok. However, there is no different noticeable difference between this and the $4.97 foam spray I get at Ace. Not worth the $11. Hard to use, hard to clean up from. Worst foam I ever used. September 24, 2014 When I attempted to assemble the delivery system, it would not work. I have a 180 IQ and could not get it to work for over an hour. I HATE IT! I definitely would not recommend!Once I did get the nozzle to work after an hour of struggle, the foam was incredibly sticky and only turpentine would get it off my hands and remove it from any tool used to smooth it flat.It is the WORST foam I ever used. | 4% Complicated to use. NOT for woodpecker holes. October 25, 2017 This stuff is some fort of a two part epoxy, must be mixed in small batches and used promptly. It's complicated to use. If you have one or two spots on wood that will be seen up close and needs to be stained this is probably a good choice. I bought it after a reading recommendation for filling woodpecker holes which is a ridiculous. It would be a huge mess and take me forevcer. I only got 3/4 can of the Bondo. There ... August 28, 2014 I only got 3/4 can of the Bondo. There is a dent on the bottom. The product is hard to be used on vertical surface, plus messy when compared with epoxy. Cures in 3-5 minutes - I don't think so... May 16, 2014 This looked like a good answer to a sculpting task I had, after all it is meant to fill in holes in wood. The instructions say to make a lump about 3 inches in diameter (they give you a nylon-like cup (see white thing on top in the photo) to mix it in) and add a stripe of the hardener (after kneeding the tube to mix it well) on top of this. I looked at the photos, and tried to do it exactly as shown, mixing quickly and thoroughly, but it started to harden (getting very hot) in about a minute. As soon as this started, it was useless. Smells nice though. | 0% There are no reviews yet | 0% There are no reviews yet |
One Star Reviews: | 13% Can become very dangerous if you use it and then ... April 28, 2017 Can become very dangerous if you use it and then stop and try to use again at a later date. Mine exploded from the front nozzle all over me and my counter. If I wasent wearing glassed I may have been blinded. Use with caution. Horrible Dangerous Stuff May 20, 2016 Horrible, Dangerous Stuff. Got some on my hands, and CANNOT get it off. Used Soap, Goo Gone, Bleach, and eventually SANDPAPER....still cannot get it off my skin. It's part of my hands now. Also cannot get it off of any surface it lands on that you don't want it on. I sprayed some into kitchen sink to prime the tube...took one HOUR to get it all off the sink surface. Also once used once, the goo solidifies in the dispensing straw, so don't know how it could ever be used again. NON RETURNABLE, so I'm just throwing it away. Beware. DO NOT BUY THIS STUFF!!! As I ... December 29, 2015 DO NOT BUY THIS STUFF!!! As I was spraying the foam into a crack along my door jamb, this foam was instantly spraying right back out of the crack!! And to boot, the foam got everywhere and cleanup took HOURS. very bad product. it did nothing it was supposed to July 22, 2014 DO NOT BUY THIS! very bad product. it did nothing it was supposed to do | 6% There are no reviews yet | 0% There are no reviews yet | 0% There are no reviews yet |
