Love it!
July 7, 2016
Love it!!1) I can now cook pancakes for a big crowd in just two rounds, rather than four or five rounds or by using multiple pans.2) You can cook a full pound of thick sliced bacon at one time on this one extra large griddle.3) The heat is well distributed fairly evenly so I don't end up with some pancakes burned and others are doughy.4) The tilt feature with handles that are simple to operate and don't get hot is really helpful when cooking something like bacon with a lot of fat/drippings.If you're tired of long sessions of cooking pancakes, bacon, etc., buy this grill and spend less time in the kitchen.
Presto is the BEST!
July 4, 2016
Just what I thought it would be ...HUGE!Presto always makes the BEST items when it comes to fryers, griddles, etc..The only problem I have with it is clean up. It's so big won't quite fit in the sink (as one whole piece) for washing/rinsing.I guess you could put it in the dishwasher, but doing that doesn't always clean the cooking surface entirely.Love the tilt option for draining while cooking bacon!I used to use a smaller griddle for pancakes and cook the bacon or sausage on the stove top in another fry pan but this is so big I can cook it all on the griddle.Like others have mentioned here ...to get good all over surface heat it's best to let the griddle heat up through at least 2 - 3 preheat light cycles ..and it's true. It really helps to get even heat all around.Shipping was fast and the item was well packed.
HUGE griddle. GREAT price!
April 10, 2016
This has a wonderfully HUGE cooking area! The biggest I've come across and for around $40, it can't be beat. I have five kids and this allows me to cook loads of pancakes, french toast, quesadillas, you name it and have it hot all at once. The tilt and drain was not a huge help with the bacon fat but it doesn't bother me, I just lift and tilt the whole thing. Super easy to clean and the drain drawer comes out easily and rinses easily. Highly recommend!
This is a great griddle. I don't think there is one made ...
January 29, 2016
This is a great griddle. I don't think there is one made (at least that I am aware of) that doesn't have hot spots, due to the heating element running in a rectangular circuit underneath it. This one is really large, and yes, if you have no place to store something this large, you're going to be irritated by buying one this big. But if you can store it, and you make huge amounts of anything like hamburgers, pancakes, grilled sandwiches, etc., you're going to love it. For me, it's definitely worth it to move things around a lot on the griddle and be able to have a huge amount of food done quickly. And the non-stick surface is really good. Cleans up with a few dry paper towels followed by a couple of wet ones (wait for it to cool though!), or can be washed in the sink if you have a deep one. It says it's submersible, but I'm too old to believe it, so I'm careful when cleaning it in the sink. I just put the end that has the plug port up out of the water, and the cooking surface cleans up fast and easy.
love this griddle
September 29, 2015
This is the second tilt griddle from presto I have owned product came in perfect codiction it's a newer model from my old one the troff drain in front is an excellent improvement love that wife fixes breakfast for me every morning with less cleanup
I like it!
April 25, 2015
I replaced my Presto Tilt 'n Drain Griddle with this BigGriddle after my old one's finish started wearing off after around 3 to 4 years. Granted, I can't fault them as I often flipped and moved food with metal silverware so it was entirely my fault! So far I like it - I loved my last griddle from this company and this one is a very similar design and feel, so I have high hopes for several years of pancakes and eggs and tortillas and french toast and bacon and.....It's been cooking large tortillas evenly, it heats up quickly, it handles a package of bacon nicely, it has a good nonstick finish so most things don't stick, it's somewhat easy to clean. Getting into the cracks in the actual drain basin can be a little tough, but it's worth it!If storage is an issue, you may want to purchase a smaller model and cook smaller batches, but if you have the room to store, I'd highly recommend :)

Element redesign
October 19, 2017
It's great that this griddle is big. However I think the heating element needs to be redesigned. It does not heat the entire surface completely. I think the elements should be closer to the perimeter and have a zigzag affect to be sure of consistency and even cooking. Other than that it's still a pretty good griddle.
Not Too Bad
August 13, 2017
It's big and it works great. First one arrived chipped so had to ship it back for a replacement. Drains well and cooks evenly. If you have a crew to cook for this will do the job.
This is a very nice large griddle
March 30, 2017
This is a very nice large griddle. The heat is fairly even with a slightly cooler center. The tilt'n drain feature is a very nice improvement except that the legs can't be locked in position. They swing very easily and can be bumped while cooking into the 'drain position or even a 'wobbly mode. I suggest you try not to set it up on a smooth surface. The griddle cannot be stored by hanging it because the lets do not lock and so can't grab any hanger reliably.
Nice Enough
December 2, 2016
I bought this to replace an old Presto 07047 Cool Touch Electric Griddle that had worn out. I like the slightly larger size and a new griddle is always nice for a non-stick surface and even heating. The difference between the grease handling of the two is the only real difference. The 07047 has a hole in the metal cooking surface while the 07046 has a lip along the entire font edge that the grease goes over into a plastic trough. The disadvantage to the 07046 is that the food has an opportunity to end up in the trough, especially eggs.
A Must-Have for BREAKFAST Connoisseurs
January 7, 2015
This is an essential tool for all breakfast chefs, regardless of your cooking level (beginner to expert). It is especially useful for cooking BACON, french toast and pancakes. My taste buds are already salivating (smiles). In addition to breakfast, I've been successful using this griddle at lunch and dinner: Cooking hamburgers and toasting buns (or toast). FYI: Burgers taste better when the bun is toasted. I coat the griddle with olive oil, then toast away...butter works, too.Note: The surface is non-stick, but I ALWAYS lightly coat using vegetable oil, olive oil, or butter. It adds a nice (crunchy) texture to many food items. The drip pan is a plus, making for easy clean up.My four-star rating is based on the uneven cooking surface. It does NOT cook evenly, but in fairness to Presto, I have yet to find a griddle that does; the nature of electric griddles. I am not a fan of the tilt feature, and observed no benefit.Overall, I'd recommend this model (Presto 07046). I have created some very memorable & tasty meals using this product.
It's a great griddle, but HUGE
January 30, 2013
This thing works great. We have cooked tuna melts, bacon, pancakes, and probably other things on it, and everything turned out nicely. There is some minor unevenness to the cooking surface, but it's nothing that can't be compensated for by moving items from one area to another as they are flipped, etc. The cooking surface has performed as expected, but we usually apply a small amount of olive oil before cooking. It also cleans up pretty quickly, and the removable drip tray is very helpful. The only drawback to this thing is that it is HUGE. Fortunately, we have a counter top to the side of our stove that is just the right size, but the hugeness of this griddle does make it difficult to get at for cleaning. Measure your kitchen carefully before buying.

Cooks food well, but sides randomly release
April 14, 2017
The product cooks food well. The problem is with the sides that can be released to tilt the griddle so grease can drain into the drip tray. The sides will pop out randomly when cooking, which is annoying when cooking pancakes, etc. If the sides help up better, then this would be a 5 star review.
It's okay. Just o k
March 10, 2017
I had very high hopes for this. It gets the job done. The oil doesn't flow down naturally. You kinda have to push it down. And the side that's closest to the outlet burns hotter than the rest of the pan.
Griddle cooks well, other features not so great
January 10, 2014
I bought this griddle to replace a Presto griddle we had used for years. As far as the cooking goes, it was comparable to the one we had before. As for the extra features, I was not impressed. Yes, the griddle was larger, and seemed like a great idea, but it is impossible to clean. You can't fit it in your sink to wash it, and the grease drain on the front of the griddle is impossible to clean. There is an edge under the front of the cooking surface that you can't get to. We bought it primarily for cooking bacon, and the grease tray is much smaller than on my last griddle (larger griddle, smaller grease tray???). And when you use the griddle in the flat position (not tilted), the grease tray tilts backwards. The first time we used it the tray overflowed, but it was under the griddle, so we didn't realize it until grease was everywhere. The tilting worked fine, but it would be nice if there was a lock to prevent the legs from pulling out for the tilt when you don't want them to. I am going back to the older griddle we used before.. Ordering one today.
Its okay. Cant recommend though (unless it was half the price)
December 7, 2013
Its okay. The size of the griddle is nice, I like that, and it seems to have even distribution of heat, but it has no beef (weight) to it which I do not like; but that might be a plus for someone who likes lighter utensils. When I have something hot on my counter though I want some weight to help keep it put. The handles are plastic and to be honest even though it works okay it really does feel cheap and I don't think its worth the price for what it is (a heating element under a cast aluminum tray with plastic feet, handles, and a plug). I saw ones in Walmart after I bought this one for about half the price that I would have been just as happy with. The plug is also really short, I think I measured it at about a foot and a half long... kind of impractical in my kitchen so I have to use an extension cord. Last thing to mention is the drip tray located in the front of the unit is just a cheap plastic tray that falls out unless you store the grill siting on its feet or on its back edge. It would be nice if there was some kind of lip molded in that would hold the try in when its not in use.
Works for the most part, but not well designed
July 15, 2013
Pros: Easy to clean, nonstick, very wide surface.Cons: Having used this for a while, I run into two problems. The first is that the surface seems to be too big for the heating element. There are definite hot and cold spots that seem to rotate as I cook. The problem here is that as the food you put cools down the metal, it takes a while to warm up again. If you're cooking a lot of things, like several servings of pancakes, you notice some will cook much faster than others the longer you use it. The first one or two pours are even, but after you have done several batches, you really have to assume that they will all start to cook at different rates. The fix seems to be to use one side at a time, letting the other side fallow and reach an even temperature, which means you can only use half the cooking surface at once time. or wait a few minute between each cooking. The second, and by far the most annoying problem is the "tilt" function starts acting on its own. The issue here is an engineering problem: there is no way to tighten the legs to prevent the tilt from happening. I tried to find a fix for this, thinking the screws on the bottom would tighten it, but they are on plastic spools so all that does is make the leg tighter on the base, but not tighten the slide mechanism in any way. Once this slide gets any amount of grease on it, the weight of the metal cooktop makes the legs slide apart out from under it like pushing down on the shoulders of a cat, and the only way I can stop it is to put two fireproof heavy weights on each side to stop the legs from sliding away from under it, like bricks or something. This is fine if I am cooking bacon or hamburger, because I want the grease to slide into the reservoir. But when cooking pancakes or eggs, this is very annoying. Also a minor point: the reservoir is too small for the size of the cooktop. If you're cooking that much bacon at once, the reservoir fills up too quickly, and when tilted downwards, does not slide out easily to pour into another vessel. In fact, I have spilled a lot of hot bacon grease on my countertop in a few attempts if I was not careful.I'd give this 4 stars if it didn't tilt on its own. I still like the large surface, even if it doesn't heat evenly.
Good enough, still looking for the perfect one, though.
November 26, 2010
I bought this for the specific purpose of making pancakes. Saturday has been pancake day for the last 10 years, and I know what I'm doing, rest assured. My kids have grown up watching the pancake ritual, and the new griddle was a big deal. It replaced one with a broken handle and scuffed nonstick coating that simply died of old age.It does well enough, I guess. It is enormous, and does not even come close to fitting in the same cabinet as my old one. However, despite its incredible size (which I had hoped would increase the number of pancakes cooking at once), I am only able to cook one additional pancake because the back edge is narrower than the front, and in reality it isn't able to accommodate a much larger number than my original, standard sized griddle.Another thing you might want to consider is that the nonstick surface is not baby-skin smooth. It's VERY non-stick, but it has a fine texture, and my pancakes don't brown like they did on the other skillet. If I turn the temp up to 375, they cook faster, but don't quite brown. They will brown if left there long enough, but they'll cook nearly all the way through leaving nothing to cook for the flip. If I turn it to 350, they cook slower, and still don't get as brown. My old griddle would brown the pancake without cooking all the way through before the flip. This is kind of a big deal, as I prefer the flavor of a browner pancake.I've cooked scrambled eggs on this, and it works OK for that. Bacon would work well with the tilt feature, I have to admit, but we don't do a lot of bacon so I haven't tried it.There is indeed some variation in heating across the surface. The aluminum is too thin for it to be otherwise. I don't have a fancy IR thermometer, but pancakes don't lie, and they cook a little faster in spots. Nothing to worry about so far, though. Finally, I'm not really a fan of the handle/tilting feature. It makes the griddle difficult to get a solid grip on if you pull it out of the cabinet by the handle. The handle shifts, making it unstable and forcing me to use two hands. If you can live without high tech non-stick, go to a flea market or second-hand store and look around for an ancient electric griddle. It will be three times as heavy, and probably work forever, all for about $5. I did that for my cast iron, and it's pretty much non-stick now anyway...

Great size, poor quality
July 7, 2016
Terrible, returned it right away. The size was great, but the quality was really lacking and non stick surface had worn spots right out of the box. Spend a couple of buck and get the broil king, you will thank me later I promise.
The tilt stays tilted
May 18, 2016
The two sides open up to tilt the cook area. This is a great idea overall, but the second time I used it, the sides would not go back in. I've made sure it was clean and that there was nothing in the way, but it will not stay closed. Unfortunately, my children threw the box in the trash and I am unable to return it. I will probably have to jerry rig this to make the cook area stay up.The heat is just like other Presto griddles. It heats best closest to the plug in and above the heating element, and the center doesn't heat well at all.
Hot spots tend to cause burning
September 18, 2014
We use this exclusively for 'Papas Pancakes'. While I thought the large size would be an advantage, the dimensions don't allow me to cook as many pancakes at one time as our older smaller one did. Also, this has a couple of 'hot spots' that will quickly burn pancakes if we don't watch carefully. A couple of the hot spots can be 50 degrees hotter than the rest of the grill or more, to the point where a 6" pancake can be cooked on one end and still raw on the other.
Back to OLD RELIABLE
July 27, 2014
I had a Wearever griddle for 38 years, all through college and raising a family. The only problem with it was that it was not nonstick and it was a touch small. After reading A LOT of reviews I chose this griddle because of the well rated reviews, the nonstick surface and the size. It arrived in a timely fashion. I tried it out expecting results at least as good as my OLD RELIABLE if not better. I was disappointed. Whatever I cooked on it did not cook evenly. It depended on where the food was placed. If the item was right above the heating element it cooked very quickly (burned a few pancakes and pieces of French toast) and the other areas were slow to cook. I returned the griddle to Amazon. I am back to my OLD RELIABLE.

Disappointing
September 20, 2016
Griddle doesn't heat evenly and takes too long to recover after food is put on. Simply not up to the task.
Impossible to clean this useless item
August 14, 2016
I found this griddle impossible to clean -- not merely difficult but impossible to get the cooked-on grease off. I have discarded this item. It is a waste of money.
It's a gamble, some Presto's are nice, others are not
November 8, 2015
Defective unit, but I've had others from this maker before without issue, this one would not heat evenly, only half of the grill would get hot.
One year later
March 31, 2012
Worked great at first. One year later and this griddle is heading for the garbage. The nonstick coating has worn off rendering it useless.
Does not get hot
January 14, 2012
This product fails at its one and only task -- getting hot. After plugging in the griddle and preheating it to 400 degrees for ten minutes I was looking forward to making a stack of pancakes. The griddle was barely hot enough to set the batter, despite the pilot indicating it was at temp. I then sprinkled cold water on the griddle to do the "skitter" test. Not only did the unit fail to make the water sizzle -- it did not make the water evaporate. What a piece of junk.
Threw it out
January 3, 2012
Probably one of the worst purchases I have made in the past few years. I could not even bring myself to give this to Goodwill. Handles swing out & drip tray falls out when lifted. Completely uneven heating for things like pancakes. Feet slip on tile counter, making griddle a moving target. Overall, would rate this as Zero stars, but Amazon made me give it at least one star. (Why?) /don't waste your money, unless you are buying this for someome you don't like.
