Nice Griddle
June 17, 2017
So far I really like this griddle. It works so much better that griddles that I have used on the stovetop because one can better control the heat. Pancakes at the beginning and end of the batch are evenly cooked and I don't have to keep adjusting the flame as the griddle heats up.
Get your cook on!

I bought it as a gift for my boyfriend. And I love it! Works great and so easy to clean. If I didn't already have a griddle I'd buy one for my house too. I like this one waaaaaay better.I've cooked pancakes, french toast, sausage, and eggs on it and all cook evenly and easily and clean up is a breeze!I highly recommend this griddle.
Nice griddle!
December 22, 2016
Love it. Bigger than your average griddle. So far after a month the surface has suffered no problems. Very slick material, nothing sticks. I see comments about the warming tray not warming but I haven't had and problem with this. Keeps my food warm. The only minor issue I have with it is that the warming drawer and the grease catch drawers don't stay in place when you pick it up to move it or put it away.. For example I go to pull it out of the pan storage under the stove and when picking up both drawers will slide out. They need some type of stop on them.Otherwise does a great job cooking breakfast!
Easy Clean Up!
December 12, 2016
I had an old school griddle with the standard cooking plate. It did fine. I love this ceramic for non-stick factor. Seems to run a little hotter than the temperature shows, so be careful. I wish they made one twice as big because I like BIG pancakes and I want to cook more than 2 at a time.Clean up is THE BEST. Not a pain like the old school kind.
Safe griddle
February 18, 2016
Excellent griddle, so I bought another one. I like that it seems to be a safer material than Teflon or other non-stick materials. And it evenly cooks my pancakes, eggs and bacon.
Oster has a great product and gives GREAT service
January 23, 2015
This griddle cost a few dollars more than than next best brand: It's worth it (and it really is just a few dollars difference-about $5-6) it's easy to clean & cooks great! First ceramic cookware I've purchased. I'd buy ceramic again and this is the brand I'd buy. Amazon delivered it fast! NOTE: just this morning it wouldn't heat up! I am just past my return date by 28 days though Amazon so I called Oster. The Oster rep practically jumped thorough the phone to help me! They are sending me a new one! No charge! Oster rep was eager to make sure I was satisfied. No matter how great a product they can go bad and it is nice to know Oster is a company that want's customers happy. Bottom line: Great service via Oster.

Saves us loads of time!
September 3, 2017
We bought this as a replacement for a Cuisinart Griddler that we received years ago as a gift. While the Griddler had rotating skewers, we almost never used that function, and the size of the griddle suffered greatly because of it. We've been using this for pancakes and okonomiyaki (a type of Japanese pancake with cabbage, egg, flour, and other ingredients), and while the Griddler could only do 4 small pancakes or one okonomiyaki at once, we can easily do over double that with this, so that's been a huge time saver.

The handles and drip pan are very easy to put on and take off, and the surface is great for easy flipping. However, I've noticed that after a few months of use (once or twice a week), the non-stick surface is no longer as non-stick as it once was, and I need to use more oil now to get the same performance, but otherwise, it's been great. It's really simple to use, clean, and store, and for the price, to me it's a no-brainer, as it cost about the same as a replacement plate for the Griddler would have. We love it.
Could NOT be happier with this griddle
December 28, 2016
Bought this for my partner as a Christmas gift after reading all the reviews. Could NOT be happier with this griddle. It's lightweight but sturdy, the handles pop on and off really easily, completely non-stick. We've cooked every meal on this bad boy since he opened it Christmas morning: bacon and eggs, hamburgers, pancakes, grilled cheese, all of it perfectly and evenly cooked.

The comments about the far side from the plug being cooler were accurate, but that's a benefit to us. Allowed us to cook a full pound of bacon, move it to the left side to stay warm, and use most of the griddle to cook the eggs (in the bacon grease, mmm).

Can't recommend this product enough. Fits in our cupboards no problem, though my only struggle with it so far is that our apartment-sized single sink makes it a little hard to clean without getting water all over the counters. The griddle itself cleans up like a DREAM though. We've just waited for it to cool and then gently wash. So happy with this purchase!
Works very well!

This review is for the Presto 07061 22 inch Griddle.

Our old Presto unit simply wore out - the non-stick surface became "sticks every time surface"; we had gotten excellent service out of it and decided that we'd stick with Presto if we could find one that had decent ratings and a reasonable price.

The 07061 model seemed to fit the bill.

The legs are not installed when the unit arrives but it takes only seconds to get them attached to the griddle proper. They are attached by spring clips and it's an easy assembly.

The power unit appears to be the same as other Presto products in size and design and the temperature levels are clearly marked and the dial swivels nicely; not too loose and there are no sticking points in the dial movement.

The griddle surface is not perfectly smooth as the old Presto unit was - the new one has a textured surface which is designed to assist with the 'non-stick' feature. Of course we've only had the new unit a few weeks so I can't really comment on the longevity of the new surface but so far it's certainly been "non-stick". We use the unit primarily for breakfast foods (eggs, pancakes, ham, etc.) and nothing so far has left a trace on the surface of the griddle. We do use a bit of oil or cooking spray, however. YMMV.

Cleanup is accomplished using a wet, soapy sponge and a rinse in clear water. I had some concerns about cheese dripping off of some grilled sandwiches but the griddle took the mess in stride and the cheese was simply swept away by the sponge.

Overall, we're delighted with the unit with the only caveat being that, unlike the previous design, the power plug inserts into an indentation on the side of the griddle and thus reduces the cooking area by a few square inches. The drip pan is not as wide as the one on the older unit but seems to get the job done and is easy to insert and remove.

HTH

Jim
Best Pancake Griddle I've Owned
February 6, 2016
There is a reason this griddle is the Amazon top seller and has so many positive reviews. This is the read deal and I could not be happier with this purchase.

As described, the griddle has removable handles which are integrated with the feet the griddle sits on. That actually concerned me when I initially looked at the item description, since I suspected the removable handles and feet might make it wobbly. Fortunately, the overwhelmingly positive reviews convinced me to buy it despite my reservations. To my relief, I found the handles are extremely easy to attach and the assembled unit is rock solid. I probably won't be removing them that often but it is undoubtedly a great feature for folks that may have limited storage space.

I also saw some reviews mention the textured cooking surface. A least from my experience, that is not a negative factor in cooking performance or the appearance of the food. From my first batch of pancakes, I could see no difference other than the pancakes turned out better than what I was able to cook on my last griddle. Unlike most griddles I have owned over the years, I could see no evidence of a "hot spot" where the area of a pancake over the heating element would cook darker than the rest of the pancake. Put simply, this griddle is a keeper!

Only time will tell how this product will hold up over the long run, but so far, so good. I consider this to be an exceptional value for the money and would recommend it without hesitation.
Even better than my last Presto griddle
June 1, 2012
I had the Presto 07039 22-Inch Electric Griddle for 5 years, but the nonstick surface was starting to wear off from frequent use, so I was in the market for a replacement. Having had a Presto already, I knew it did a decent job of cooking evenly, had a good nonstick surface, and was affordably priced. I was hoping to find one that would be a little easier to clean, and debated between a couple of dishwasher-safe options, but settled on the Presto 07061 22-inch Electric Griddle with Removable Handles for its removable handles. The problem with all the dishwasher-safe options is that they were big and bulky - by design since the heating element had to be separate from the cooking surface.I am please to report that I am happy with my choice. The large 22" cooking surface has excellent nonstick properties; I prefer it over my previous Presto griddle which didn't have the same texture. I made an egg (with no oil) and the non-stick was so good that the edges of the egg actually curled up and away from the surface on their own. No sticking whatsoever.I was a bit worried that the handles might be loose, making the griddle wiggly, but I'm happy to report that is not the case. In fact, I can't tell that they are removable handles at all when moving the griddle around. It's very solid, with nice little rubber grippies on the bottom of the legs - something my previous Presto did not have. And the handles are very simple to remove. Each of the four legs has a tight spring latch that secures the handles in place. You can easily remove the handles in seconds and store the cooking surface in the same cupboard as your pizza pans! The shape of the cooking surface is also more convenient to clean than my last Presto. This one is flat, with an opening in the rim where the grease tray resides. You can wipe the surface straight off the edge of the griddle into the grease tray or a sink/garbage. My previous Presto just had a small hole that grease was supposed to drain through, and you had to wipe any larger pieces up and over the rim. Also, the grease tray on this model has two small catches that prevent it from sliding open too easily. My last Presto had no such mechanism, and the tray actually slid out while I was in the process of moving it and broke when it hit the floor.Overall, I'm happy with my purchase. I'm sure there are other great griddle options out there with more bells and whistles, but this one does the job and is both affordable and convenient.

Makes great pancakes
July 1, 2017
I bought this thinking it was ceramic but really it's a ceramic coating. Makes great pancakes! I like the little drawer. Keeps things warm.
Great product
January 28, 2017
Overall I am very happy with this product. I use it every morning. Usually I cook eggs and toast. I've also cooked bacon, pupusas, French toast, ect. I haven't noticed an issue with food sticking to the grittle. I do use a small amount of olive oil for some things.I do with the plug was on the other side do to the layout of my kitchen. I would order this again.
Pretty good option
November 29, 2016
Love the Non stick ceramic, and cooking in larger volumes is easier with this, instead of pans on the stove. My only complaint is that the feet don't stick to the counter and if you don't pay attention the whole thing can slide around. I also wouldn't mind if the cooking surface was a tad larger.Other than that though, it does the trick and was a pretty good price. Pancake Saturdays are a breeze now!
Cooks evenly, do not stick...NO BPA FREE!
February 2, 2016
I really love it! Haven't had any problems with sticking and it cooks my bacon evenly. I removed the plastic drip drawer (not BPA) free and I just use my own glass one. Easy to clean and store!! I give this product 4 stars because the plastic are not BPA free.
Worth the upgrade
September 6, 2015
The ceramic surface is much better than conventional surfaces and, more importantly, makes weekend mornings fun for my wife & sons making pancakes together. (I'm not a neanderthal; I get up with the boys first and make their first breakfast while my wife sleeps in.) I think it cost a couple more bucks that the standard version but definitely worth it in terms of cooking more evenly.
Nice quality griddle, and large enough for 4
February 1, 2014
Good quality large griddle to replace my old worn-out Teflon model. This ergonomic design is easier to store and doesn't "snag" on other items in the cupboard. High quality 1-piece cord and tight connecting socket. Drip hole located on rear, warming tray doubles as cord storage on front of unit. The surface coating is superb - a quick wipe with dry paper towel and back into storage. My only disappointment has to do with the tracks used underneath for the warming tray sliders - pretty flimsy, easy to bend out of alignment, takes some diligence to make the drawer retract. I'd like to see Oster step it up one more notch and design the drawer tracks for better longevity.

Overall a good product
July 22, 2017
Like everyone said, does not cook evenly. Not a huge issue though.

Pros:
- reached the set temperature quickly.
- real non- stick product
- perfect size for making 8 pancakes
- handles and the power cord are detachable. Makes it easy to store.

-cons:

- does not heat evenly. Again, not huge issue. Set it to 400 and flip the pancakes after 2 minutes. Results would be more satisfactory.

- the thermostat doesn't seem to be working properly. Never seen it turn on and off the heater when it reaches the temperature. Maybe I haven't paid attention to it. I never head a beep or click sound that most thermostats do. This is not a defect. And the griddle does not overheat. Just a concern.

Overall, I'm satisfied and would recommend it.
Great product, just really long.
May 19, 2017
great griddle, just to large for me. should have gotten the smaller version. easy to clean and so much nicer than the last one I had, easy to plug in the power to the griddle (last one was a pain) heats evenly. Without the feet/handles it is as long as my cabinets (standard) are deep. You have to remove the feet/handles to store, so then you have all these parts all over the place. I simplify that by attaching them with the handles backwards under the griddle for storage and just flip the around for use.
Nice size, heats well and fast
March 23, 2017
My wife bought it to heat up tortillas table side so no-one has to get up to heat them. I like it, but not very practical unless you need to heat a whole bunch of them. It's a large size, so it takes up a bit of space. It does come in very handy for making pancakes on the weekend though and the temp control is great.
Not perfect, but well worth the money!
November 24, 2014
This griddle is worth buying at the low price and I'd recommend it to anyone with a few things pointed out.

The high points:
*Size. This 22-inch griddle is roughly 25% larger than other griddles I've owned. Awesome.
*Nonstick surface. After 3 months of several times a week use, the nonstick shows no signs of wearing out. It's super easy to wash too!
*Low profile. This griddle is more convenient to store than past griddles I've owned due to the low profile. And when you remove the legs(which is easy) it can store with the cookie sheets!

Things to take note of:
*First and foremost is the textured surface. It has a very tight pattern of little diamond shapes. I think the technical term is "knurled." Not sure what this accomplishes, but it hasn't seemed to hurt anything. I will say that the effect is very noticeable on pancakes and fried eggs.
*Uneven heating surface. Every electric griddle I've ever owned has had this problem. The griddle gets hottest near the heating element and will even leave stripes on your pancakes. It's a necessary evil I'm willing to live with to gain the convenience of an electric griddle.
*The whole griddle is bowed toward the center. When it first came, the griddle didn't have this problem, but over time it has reared it's ugly head. Now eggs and bacon grease both run toward the middle. Quite irritating when you are trying to keep foods separate while cooking.

All in all this is a great griddle for the money and I'm glad I bought it.

*Update Feb 1st, 2016* The griddle is now bowed considerably toward the center. There's no question anymore of trying to cook eggs anywhere but the middle. The nonstick surface is still great; virtually nothing sticks to it and it's showing almost no signs of wear.
Excellent for breakfast
December 8, 2012
I love making Sunday morning breakfast with this griddle....my one complaint is for Presto. Why can't you make a griddle and skillet that has more consistent cooking temps over the entire surface...too many hot spots and no heat spots with only a few inches separating the food. Still I love how big this is, and storage is awesome with the removable legs.

I bought 4 Oster products (griddle, waffle maker, toaster and can opener) overall quality is "OK" I'm not impressed with any of them.
Awesome griddle for a while
April 4, 2016
I have used Teflon griddles and stainless griddles but this one is truly nonstick! Heats evenly and cooks like a dream. I've cooked everything from eggs and pancakes to porkchops with no burn on spots on either food or griddle. Still looks new after heavy use for several months. Update- bought in January and the non stick was completely gone by May. Fought with it till July when the ceramic started to chip off. Griddle was used heavily and daily so if your going to use this occasionally it would be a good griddle. Daily use just destroyed this griddle and we did not scrub it hard or do anything against the instructions of care.
Excellent cooking surface but some issues ..............
December 21, 2015
We just love the cooking surface -- but it's all downhill from there. There is nothing to hold the grease or warming trays in place when you move the griddle; they fall out just from walking with the griddle held level and more quickly if you tip it at all and break easily even from hitting a padded vinyl floor. Hot grease has already damaged the grease tray. The fingers that guide the warming tray into place are bent easily when washing making it difficult to get the warming tray into place after you pull it out to put pancakes into it. Our control failed in just a couple of months because the electrical connections were not tight and overheated annealing the connectors so they would no longer grip the electrical studs on the griddle. Our control also runs about 100 degrees hotter than indicated, enough to melt 30+ year-old (plastic-like) utensils that have outlived a half dozen prior grills. The surface is not really non-stick if you run it over about 350 deg but does clean up well with some SoftScrub. The concept of this griddle is good, but the design and execution are terrible. We would continue using it, living with the issues, it if we could get a replacement control, but so far Oster has not responded to our inquiries asking for a replacement. I suppose we could send the whole unit to a service center but the time and effort and shipping cost rule that out.UPDATE UPDATE UPDATEWell, it took nearly a month but I did get an email from Oster. The email told me that a new griddle was being shipped along with a return shipping label to return the old one. I was asked to enclose a note describing the problem. The returned unit is going to a quality control group for the purpose of identifying the problem and ensuring whatever caused it is rectified. Clearly Oster is concerned with quality and it seems likely that the failure in my unit was unusual or at least will be in future production.Incidentally, the replacement unit Oster sent to me is an M20 rather than the M18 that I got from Amazon. It's longer but not actually larger because the grease drain grooves are wider and set out from the edges of the grille surface making the usable cooling area a bit smaller. The grooves do slope toward the oil tray nicely though. The handles are also much larger making the unit several inches longer overall. Given a choice, I would have rather had the one Amazon is selling. For the excellent service, albeit slow, I'm adding a star.
Easily cleaned with paper towels
May 29, 2015
Not submersible, and food crumbs can get between the edge and the surface, but so far it's working very well. Heats quickly and evenly. Easily cleaned with paper towels.Update after a few months of use: I have downgraded by one star. There is now a noticeable dark ring where the heating elements are. When cooking e.g. pancakes, you can tell exactly where these heating elements are because the pancakes will be much darker in those sections when you flip them, and somewhat under-cooked elsewhere. The first few items off the griddle seem to be over-cooked, so there seems to be a rapid heat-up initial phase. The corners are pretty much dead zones that do not cook as thoroughly. Because the non-stick cook top is placed atop a hard plastic casing, there is a gap between the two surfaces. Gunk and grease drop into this gap; it's not very cleanable. The warming tray is shallow, and really not of much use; for me, it's simply one more thing to fall out when I put the unit away. On the plus side, the surface is holding up reasonably well, despite the noticeable discoloration, and the non-stick aspect works very well and, so far, has not scraped off; it's much better than Teflon.
Not as "Non-Stick" as I expected. (Image posted as well)
January 22, 2014
UPDATE (Feb 3, 2014): I am changing my review to 3 stars. I felt 2 was too harsh as I DO use the product and it does work with certain items. However, I strongly encourage potential buyers to read this review (and others) and weigh all of your choices.I am not sure if I can recommend this product after using it for about 3 weeks.First, I should point out that when this Oster DuraCeramic griddle first arrived I noticed some subtle inconsistencies in the ceramic coating. Almost as if the coat(s) were not applied evenly. There were no bare areas, but certain areas definitely felt smoother than others and the "rougher" areas appeared to be slightly...slightly darker possibly due to an uneven coating. This uneven coating may or may not be related to some of my issues. The good news is that, upon the first few uses, the coating does seem to be MUCH more slippery than something like Teflon. I was very careful to follow all of there directions as far as washing, heating and when to preheat versus when to not pre-heat for something like eggs. I did always use a light coating of olive oil for both flavor and to potentially help with sticking, etc. (Maybe that was an issue, but I did not read anything to the contrary).Things like pancakes & french toast seem to cook pretty well with very little sticking. That is nice. However, thinks like eggs (Sunny Side Up / Over Easy, etc) and burgers seem to really, really stick. Stick to the point that my food gets destroyed when I try to flip and manage it. I will post a picture shortly with some eggs which I normally cook very well without breaking any yolks or burning anything. Eggs in particular have specific instructions to cook without pre-heating. So you are supposed to just put the eggs on when you turn the griddle on. I have tried this both ways with the same results - stuck and burnt eggs. The other factor is the temperature. They suggest a temperature of 300° (I think) for Eggs with no preheating. First, the temperature dial is strange on this griddle as others have mentioned. It goes from 270° to 320° to 370° (I think - not in front of it). So you are kind of guessing where 300° is on the dial. I even tried a lower temperature on the dial (270°) and STILL had issues.Burgers caused similar sticking/burning issues, but at least burgers are more durable than eggs. The burgers did taste good, but I will assume that was my amazing cooking ;)The other annoyance is that the griddle seems to be somewhat concave - even on a level surface. I will start with 4 eggs in the four corners and they will ALL slide into the center of the griddle and sort of merge together. This just makes it harder to cook them and also just makes my eggs look worse.
Won't Stay White for Long
November 23, 2013
We've had this griddle for about two months and have used it nearly every day. The first few times we used it we were very pleased with the nonstick surface. In fact, we almost thought it was TOO slippery. We couldn't get our spatula under anything without the food slipping away. However, after about ten uses, there was an area that started sticking. As another reviewer has mentioned, once food sticks to an area, it loses some of its nonstick ability. Now there is a dark ring where the heating element is and food tends to stick. Otherwise, the surface is still nonstick. I would give this griddle 4 stars if I was able to clean it, but without being able to use abrasives on it, the burnt areas where the heating element is will not come off. I would still recommend this product over some of the other traditional nonstick skillets and griddles we've tried, but just know that it doesn't stay white and pretty for long and there will be areas around the heating element where food will stick a bit more.

I have still yet to find a good quality portable griddle
June 11, 2017
I have still yet to find a good quality portable griddle. It worked fairly well enough but gave off a very plastic odor when we were cooking on it. It also must be very high voltage since it dims the lights in the house when being used. I would recommend just buying a heavy duty one instead.
Textured surface makes teriible pancakes
May 30, 2017
I saw all the great reviews and purchased this griddle. It heats evenly and seems to have a great non-stick cooking surface. My main complaint has to do with the textured surface. I bought this primarily to cook pancakes, but the textured surface causes the pancake surfaces to be rather hard and dry. It may work well for other types of foods, but it does not cook pancakes that well. If you are considering buying this primarily for pancakes, i would suggest buying a different griddle without the textured surface.
Grease doesn't flow in to catcher very well
December 7, 2016
Bought this to replace another electric griddle that was past its prime. Was suprised at how much more splatter happens on this griddle vs the one it is replacing. I think the reason is because the griddle has not angled enough for the grease to slip in to the end that has the grease catcher. I've taken to propping up the back end just a bit to give gravity a hand and allow the grease to flow in to the catcher. An extra step I didn't have to take with my previous griddle.
Good entry level griddle. It does heat unevenly but worth the price.
March 29, 2015
I bought this with low expectation based on the other reviews. I purchased this to specifically cook pancakes for a family of four. I have since cooked others things like eggs and bacon. For the price it performed satisfactory AND you will need to accept that it does not heat evenly. When cooking pancakes, my solution is to give the pancakes a turn so that all sides of the pancakes cooks evenly. Some of the other reviews will show you how it cooks across the surface.

One nice feature is the removable handles. It comes in handy for storage and clean up. I would not put this in the dish washer nor would I soak it entirely under water. Just wipe it off with a damp dish rag or cloth. That should be good enough. The drip tray is also nice and works as expected.
Fairly even heat, but weird non-stick surface
September 12, 2013
This griddle heats fairly well and cleanup is easy, but the non-stick coating has a weird diamond-shaped pattern on it. The result is pancakes with a texture on the the surface, not a nice smooth pancake. It's just weird. Maybe they do that so there is less surface area touching the food and thereby making it less sticky, but I don't like it.

March 21, 2017
very disappointed, I've used it less than my past non stick electric griddles and they were still "non stick". I've had it since September and it is no longer non stick at all. We've used it maybe 2-3 times a month and and have only used a dish rag or blue scratch resistant scrub sponge. We had our last griddle for years before it's non stick coating stopped working.
Doesn't cook evenly!
February 22, 2017
I have been using this Electric Griddle for a few months and it certainly heats up quickly and cleans well as advertised. What it doesn't do is cook evenly outside of the heating element ring. The inside and outside of the element does not get as hot as the ring where the element sits and it makes it hard to cook omelets, pancakes and other large items that need to cook evenly. This should be a priority for ALL electric griddles.

Disappointed
February 8, 2016
I have never left a negative feed back, here it goes. I bought this because my OLD Black & Decker griddle still works but cloth cord got hot. I make pancakes once a month 3 batches... grilled cheese every Sun. Thought the ceramic would be better than black non stick.Bottom line: it has hot spots makes it difficult to cook pancakes evenly. The ceramic surface after minimal use is already showing brown areas that I can't get clean. Sorry disappointed is my only comment. Deliver excellent. ThanksWill be using old faithful again.
Really liked it for about a month
April 22, 2015
Bought the ceramic grill as a change of pace from the traditional non stick grills. Really liked it for about a month. But after using it several months and only a few times each month for breakfast items, each time i cook bacon on it, gummy, brown residue sticks to the white surface under where the bacon had cooked. This causes sticking for anything, like eggs or pancakes, or hash browns, that you might cook. A real pain to clean too. Just not worth the hassle. Going back to a non ceramic grill choice.
Did not meet expectations
August 17, 2014
I really wanted to like this griddle. I cook pancakes almost every morning for my three boys and I also use an electric griddle to cook flour tortillas. Because I use a griddle at least once a day I kept having to replace my electric griddle about every year or so due to the non-stick coating flaking off. I decided that I needed to look into getting a ceramic electric griddle that would hopefully last much longer.Sadly, the options are very limited and we could only find 2 that might meet our needs. This griddle and another griddle made by Oster which has a reversible plate to be used as an indoor grill. We originally bought the other griddle but once we received it were very disappointed in the size for the price that we paid so we returned it and ordered this griddle instead. When I received this griddle I was a little disappointed when I first opened it. It is quite a bit less expensive than the other griddle, but it seems cheap. The ceramic cooktop is completely different from the other Oster product - the other griddle seemed a lot more heavy duty than this one.It seems to heat fast, but it also cooks hot - I had to turn the temperature below 300 degrees because otherwise by foods (pancakes and tortillas) were getting scorched on the outside and not cooking completely through. It seems to easily get dark, "burnt"-looking spots on it. I know these spots can be cleaned off using a little water and baking soda that you rub in with your finger, but I really wanted something that was an easier and quicker clean than that. After only a few uses it seems that it isn't as non-stick as it was the first time I used it and pancakes seem to stick when I try to flip them. In fact, I haven't even used this product over the last month because I'm just disappointed in it every time I use it - instead I've been using a stove-top griddle even though I prefer to use an electric one.I was also disappointed in the warming tray on this griddle. I've never had a griddle with a warming tray, but I liked the idea of being able to keep pancakes warm while I continued to cook. However the warming tray is cheap flimsy plastic and it doesn't even slide in and out with ease.I would not recommend this product.

nice grill. good quality

nice grill. good quality, heating is pretty even.
I do not like the non stick pattern on the cooking surface. makes food ( eggs, pancakes) look weird. bacon and grilled cheese come out great though. get one with a smooth surface.
Temperature control malfunctions -> griddle doesn't last long
July 29, 2017
I would have given 5 stars if the product lasted at least ONE YEAR. I understand they are not going last forever, but within 6 months it started malfunction. The griddle's temperature control senses the temperature is too hot and keep turning off. The result is griddle never reaches / stays at the temperature sufficient to cook omlet / tortilla / anything practically. Very disappointed with this purchase causing loss of money in such a short period of time.
To be fair, two stars for the design, size, and construction.
Would love to hear from the vendor / manufacturer if they can address the issue.

Very large cooking area. This unit does not heat evenly and it seems not to reach 400 degrees like it says.
Griddle warps- beware!
February 14, 2016
After considering an electric griddle for months and doing some research, I decided on this model. I have a family of 5, so the large cooking surface appealed to me, as I could cook more food in a shorter period of time. I didn't need a "Mercedes" version with all of the bells and whistles, but I wanted to have a model with even cooking and a non-stick surface. This product seemed to fit the bill. At first...

I have only used this griddle 5 times (the 5th being this morning), and only for pancakes and bacon. The temperature has never been set above 350°. This morning, I cooked pancakes on it and there was a noticeable warp from the ends declining toward the middle. When I poured my pancake batter on it, it slid toward the middle and made my pancakes tear drop shaped and it was difficult to keep the batter from running into adjacent pancakes. The previous two times I used it was for bacon, so if the warping occurred then, I didn't notice.

In reference to even cooking, I don't have really any complaints. Yes, there are "stripes" but I can live with that, as the pancakes still turned out pretty well. And, I didn't have any issues with bacon cooking unevenly. The non-stick surface is great- I have never used oil and I don't think I ever will.

My biggest issue, as stated above, is the bowing toward the middle. If I could return it, I would, as making pancakes is the primary reason I bought it. Call me OCD, but I want my pancakes to be ROUND- not tear drop shaped.
This one's a turd!

This griddle is sucko on two counts:

1- The material doesn't conduct heat well. Even after preheating, pancakes have weird stripes on them and sandwiches end up
toasty brown only over the element, the edges are underdone. I end up moving things around and around to evenly cook them, which is very annoying and probably makes me look like a huge goob.

2- The surface leaves an odd, tiny waffle weave on all your foods. It's unsettling. Not a huge deal, but worth mentioning. Guess I never knew I was a smooth pancake type of girl.

Wish I had spent more money for a better griddle.

Purchased this product less than 6 months ago and it's cheap! At first I was so excited but within a month one side started sticking (I followed all cleaning protocols so the ceramic should not have been damaged). Over the months it's gotten worse and now one side doesn't heat and cook while the other side does. It was such a beautiful product and sounded amazing in the description but it didn't last 4x as long as my previous griddle which lasted 4 years, it didn't remain non stick, doesn't cook evenly or fast. In conclusion it became a disappointment rather quickly.
OSTER DURA CERAMIC GRIDDLE
May 9, 2016
I TRIED THIS GRIDDLE TWICE NOW. SAME ON BOTH, HOT SPOTS, AND THE NON STICK PROPERTIES ARE STARTING TO STICK. THE PLUG THAT CAME WITH IT FITS LOOSE. IF I CHANGE TEMP SETTING, IT TAKES A LONG TIME REGULATING THE NEW SETTING. MIGHT AS WELL GET A REGULAR GRIDDLE AND SPRAY WITH PAM. WOULDN'T RECCOMMEND THIS PRODUCT.
Nice idea poorly executed

Where to start? I've used a lot of ceramic cookware and long ago cleared the house of anything with Teflon. I've also owned a lot of griddles over the years. Never have I had a griddle so poorly designed, nor a cooking surface so bad.1. I've had this for 5 months. The harshest thing I've used on the cooking surface is bon ami, and that only when absolutely necessary. It is scratched up like you wouldn't believe.2. The mechanical design is such that the warming tray has melted in multiple places.3. The cooking surface in uneven - cooking eggs on this is comical, as everything runs to the middle and then straight to the grease hole.4. Heat distribution is atrocious. Pancakes have a single dark line from the heating element long before they are cooked anywhere else.I wish I could think of something nice to say. I was hopeful to get back to an electric griddle, but this one was a total waste of money.

Very unhappy with this griddle, so unhappy that i threw it in the trash. No temperature control at all. At a 350 degree setting the actual surface temperature was over 500 degrees. Everything burned or stuck. The ceramic became impossible to clean especially where the heating element is. I was hoping to get more than a few weeks of service from this product.
Worst griddle I've owned
June 28, 2015
Huge dead spots at all temperatures. Gets way too hot in the spots that do heat up, even on low settings. Pancakes burn within in 30 seconds at any setting over 270, despite the manual recommending 325 for pancakes. Not non-stick AT ALL, even after "seasoning" as some have recommended. My husband had disposed of the box before I had a chance to test it out the first time or it would have gone right back to the store. Do not buy.
Fail Oster
December 3, 2014
Initially, this product performed pretty well. Within the first week, a dime-sized chip developed on the ceramic finish, but as it was in the drainage area, it was not a huge issue, aside from an indication of product quality. The non-stick feature lasted for about a month, then we found we had to start oiling the surface so pancakes or French toast would not stick. Soon after, the griddle began to heat uneven, leaving dark lines within the ceramic finish over the area where the heating element is located. I finally gave up this morning and ordered another griddle, not of the Oster brand. A real disappointment; look elsewhere for your griddle.

I really wanted to love this, it was everything I wanted in a griddle. I can even get over the weird design it leaves on my food. However, it doesn't heat up evenly and my pancakes come out super flat. I've been using the same recipe for years and never an issue, but with this griddle they don't come out fluffy at all. Too bad, it's so easy to store which is what I was looking for.
Disappointed!
June 23, 2016
It does not get hot enough and doesn't heat evenly. It cooked strips of bacon faster where the heating element runs around the bottom of it, so I had stripes through each strip where the bacon was done and not done. Then I cooked eggs over easy on the already hot griddle. It took 10 minutes to cook the whites at 400 and the yolk was still runny. Unfortunately, I didn't use the griddle until after the 30 day return window, therefore I am stuck with a piece of junk.
Cheap Piece of Junk
February 28, 2015
Save your money. I know this thing is low priced so we can't expect magic but this thing isn't worth much of anything. I put 10 pieces of bacon across it. The far left piece barely cooked - almost still raw when the other 9 were done. If you don't have something cooking on the far right near the temperature controller it will satisfy and nothing you have in the center will cook. So you have to keep moving the food to the right to keep it cooking smoothly. I should have taken a photo...
Striped pancakes, coming up!
December 14, 2014
Well, after researching extensively and noting the positive reviews on this griddle, I decided to ignore the multiple comments about the uneven heating resulting in stripes on cooked food. Well silly me! Turns out, my pancakes looked EXACTLY like the racing stripe pancakes shown in one of the customer uploaded photos. They didn't cook evenly at all. Obviously, Presto decided to save money by making the griddle cooking surface thinner. As in, way too much thinner. Don't these people test their product after a redesign?? Wasn't there someone who looked at the dark stripes on the food and said, 'Hm, maybe we went a little TOO thin'?

Apparently not.
Disappointing in temperature uniformity and control.
December 13, 2014
I bought this griddle based on previous brand experience and user reviews. I am disappointed in this product after using for a couple of months. The griddle does not heat uniformly from end-to-end or side-to-side. Bacon cooks very non- uniformly with areas near raw while other portions of the same strip are crispy. Pancakes have one side done to a golden brown while the other half of the same cake is nearly raw. The temperature control does not maintain temperature. I would NOT buy this griddle again nor would I recommend it to others.

12/25/14 Update - Used the griddle this AM to cook thick sliced bacon. I tried both cross-wise and length-wise orientation of the bacon strips. Both resulted in poor uniformity of cooking. Length-wise produced bacon nearly burned on one end and nearly raw on the other. I accordingly reduced the rating to a single star.
