Nice Griddle
June 17, 2017
So far I really like this griddle. It works so much better that griddles that I have used on the stovetop because one can better control the heat. Pancakes at the beginning and end of the batch are evenly cooked and I don't have to keep adjusting the flame as the griddle heats up.
Get your cook on!
June 9, 2017
I bought it as a gift for my boyfriend. And I love it! Works great and so easy to clean. If I didn't already have a griddle I'd buy one for my house too. I like this one waaaaaay better.I've cooked pancakes, french toast, sausage, and eggs on it and all cook evenly and easily and clean up is a breeze!I highly recommend this griddle.
Nice griddle!
December 22, 2016
Love it. Bigger than your average griddle. So far after a month the surface has suffered no problems. Very slick material, nothing sticks. I see comments about the warming tray not warming but I haven't had and problem with this. Keeps my food warm. The only minor issue I have with it is that the warming drawer and the grease catch drawers don't stay in place when you pick it up to move it or put it away.. For example I go to pull it out of the pan storage under the stove and when picking up both drawers will slide out. They need some type of stop on them.Otherwise does a great job cooking breakfast!
Easy Clean Up!
December 12, 2016
I had an old school griddle with the standard cooking plate. It did fine. I love this ceramic for non-stick factor. Seems to run a little hotter than the temperature shows, so be careful. I wish they made one twice as big because I like BIG pancakes and I want to cook more than 2 at a time.Clean up is THE BEST. Not a pain like the old school kind.
Safe griddle
February 18, 2016
Excellent griddle, so I bought another one. I like that it seems to be a safer material than Teflon or other non-stick materials. And it evenly cooks my pancakes, eggs and bacon.
Oster has a great product and gives GREAT service
January 23, 2015
This griddle cost a few dollars more than than next best brand: It's worth it (and it really is just a few dollars difference-about $5-6) it's easy to clean & cooks great! First ceramic cookware I've purchased. I'd buy ceramic again and this is the brand I'd buy. Amazon delivered it fast! NOTE: just this morning it wouldn't heat up! I am just past my return date by 28 days though Amazon so I called Oster. The Oster rep practically jumped thorough the phone to help me! They are sending me a new one! No charge! Oster rep was eager to make sure I was satisfied. No matter how great a product they can go bad and it is nice to know Oster is a company that want's customers happy. Bottom line: Great service via Oster.

Heat pizzza . It is great
April 1, 2017
I love this pan to make pineapple upside down cake in the summer so I don't have to run the oven. I also love it to heat up pizza. I am not a fan of microwave heated pizza. This is faster then the oven also. Just put a pat of butter or oil in the pan with the cover on and heat on low setting. I can't tell you the time as pizza varies in thickness.
It is very easy to clean
February 21, 2017
Got it for my mum for Christmas, she loves it. It is very easy to clean, let it cool down wipe it out and give it a wash. Nothing really sticks to this thing.
Excellent texture. Great heating
March 3, 2016
I read a negative review on this product about ten minutes after I ordered it. It stated how poorly it worked and that everything stuck to the pan so I wanted to test it. Since I was expecting it to be delivered today so I went to buy some fish but I forgot the cooking oil. Package was delivered around 2 something and about ten minutes later I poured about a tablespoon full of oil in the skillet and fried four fillets.
No chemical taste. Excellent texture. Great heating. And the fish was crispy and moist. Oh yeah, I cooked it without the lid. I'll check it out for another couple of weeks and if the quality remains the same I'm buying a larger one.
I'm going to put this too task by cooking mushrooms, onions, and sugary foods with little to no oil and see how it holds up. I'll post an update in 3 weeks unless it fails before that time.
I love this fry pan.
August 1, 2015
Purchased this electric frying pan with a ceramic interior cause I hate Teflon coated pans. There is a "hot spot" in the shape of the ring that is underneath the unit, but I have never burned anything because I don't leave it unattended. Since I have no stove or oven, this and a microwave and an Instant Pot are the only things I cook with. I recently made Green Chile Enchiladas in this fry pan and let it cook undisturbed,on the simmer setting, for 3 hours until all the cheese had melted. Came out perfectly and not burned spots! I love this thing and would definitely recommend it...I typically just wipe it out with a paper towel.
Wow!
April 7, 2014
This pan is very handy for cooking just about anything in! Just a few things to note:

1) It is a healthy non-stick pan, which normally just needs to be wiped clean with a (paper) towel. However, it can stain. If it does, all you have to do is let it cool then scrub it thoroughly with a washcloth or soft sponge, maybe even with a little soap. No stain has permanently "stuck" so far.

2) It heats up really hot really fast, then kinda cools and maintains for a while. This is great for cooking something really fast, not as nice for keeping something warm for extended periods of time (couple hours).

3) You don't need to cook things as high as you do on regular skillets. When I had a regular stainless steel skillet, I mostly cooked things around 300-350 degrees. In this pan, I normally use 220-270 degrees. Just FYI.

I am very pleased with this pan, and would definitely buy other products by this brand.

Makes great pancakes
July 1, 2017
I bought this thinking it was ceramic but really it's a ceramic coating. Makes great pancakes! I like the little drawer. Keeps things warm.
Great product
January 28, 2017
Overall I am very happy with this product. I use it every morning. Usually I cook eggs and toast. I've also cooked bacon, pupusas, French toast, ect. I haven't noticed an issue with food sticking to the grittle. I do use a small amount of olive oil for some things.I do with the plug was on the other side do to the layout of my kitchen. I would order this again.
Pretty good option
November 29, 2016
Love the Non stick ceramic, and cooking in larger volumes is easier with this, instead of pans on the stove. My only complaint is that the feet don't stick to the counter and if you don't pay attention the whole thing can slide around. I also wouldn't mind if the cooking surface was a tad larger.Other than that though, it does the trick and was a pretty good price. Pancake Saturdays are a breeze now!
Cooks evenly, do not stick...NO BPA FREE!
February 2, 2016
I really love it! Haven't had any problems with sticking and it cooks my bacon evenly. I removed the plastic drip drawer (not BPA) free and I just use my own glass one. Easy to clean and store!! I give this product 4 stars because the plastic are not BPA free.
Worth the upgrade
September 6, 2015
The ceramic surface is much better than conventional surfaces and, more importantly, makes weekend mornings fun for my wife & sons making pancakes together. (I'm not a neanderthal; I get up with the boys first and make their first breakfast while my wife sleeps in.) I think it cost a couple more bucks that the standard version but definitely worth it in terms of cooking more evenly.
Nice quality griddle, and large enough for 4
February 1, 2014
Good quality large griddle to replace my old worn-out Teflon model. This ergonomic design is easier to store and doesn't "snag" on other items in the cupboard. High quality 1-piece cord and tight connecting socket. Drip hole located on rear, warming tray doubles as cord storage on front of unit. The surface coating is superb - a quick wipe with dry paper towel and back into storage. My only disappointment has to do with the tracks used underneath for the warming tray sliders - pretty flimsy, easy to bend out of alignment, takes some diligence to make the drawer retract. I'd like to see Oster step it up one more notch and design the drawer tracks for better longevity.

I like but it is slippery so if your very busy be careful...short cord...mine cooks mostly even, I just move my chops around, great for them ya know if only need four
Good price

Good value for the money but I bought this thinking it would never scratch like Teflon. Is definitely more scratch resistant but it is not scratch proof.
Food Does Not Stick - Easy Wash
March 15, 2016
The DuraCeramic coating is awesome. It washes easily and any marks are removed with baking soda. Food does not stick and often I don't use any oil. It seems to cook hot -- but that is easily remedied by using a lower temperature. My biggest complaint is maybe uneven heating -- seems to cook hotter in one area. The heating element is a ring --- would be more heat efficient if it were maybe a loop back and forth from side to side for more even heat distribution. From what I read, the ceramic coating is more healthy versus the teflon-like coatings.
awesome customer service
February 16, 2016
The control knob broke after 3 weeks of use. However, Customer Service offered to replace the whole fry pan when they discovered that did not have a replacement cord.
I've used this a hundred times or so and plan on using it another hundred or two.
February 23, 2014
It takes about 8 min to heat 1qt of cold tap water to boiling.
The cord is very short so you need a nearby electrical plug.
The counter top gets warm but not hot.
The moisture condenses on the top and when you remove it much of the water will run off. You will need to tilt the top over the skillet to drain the water back into the skillet. Otherwise it will be on the counter. While this is true for every pot it seems a bigger issue for a skillet. (I'm not sure why.)
A skillet does not have fine control over temperature. At least none of the ones I've ever seen. If this is what you need you will be disappointed. This type of appliance heats a ring at the bottom and will be hotter over the element than elsewhere. (True for all such skillets.) Is this one better or worse than others? I don't know.
If you have something flat and want to cook it evenly .... such as a pizza or frozen lasagna ... this is the wrong appliance.
I have seared strips of meat over the ring, but not as well as I can on a stove.
Yes it is a bit limited.

The top is glass so you can see what is going on.
The non stick may not be perfect but really good in my opinion.
Once when using it, I was distracted. (Three different calls from family in 15 min about different issues) I totally forgot I was cooking and burned something hard in it. Tiny black flakes were left on it. Minor rubbing didn't take it out neither did soaking overnight help. I was busy and didn't have time to mess with it. The flakes were small and I couldn't feel them so I used it twice more. The third time I finally had time to work on it and realized the flakes were already gone.
After 50 or more uses and a few more minor burnings of food, the non-stick aspect seems as good as new.
The outside cleans easily as well.
I don't use metal utensils on it.

You can heat things long and slow (hours without burning) but as there are no temp markings, it is a bit of a guessing game.
A reviewer said they had to turn it completely off let it cool down then turn it back on. (To get it to go on low.) I do not have that problem. I just turn it lower.

The only thing I've had trouble with that I think it should do is, dried beans. I don't know what the problem is but the larger ones (A mix) didn't seem quite done despite extended soaking and cooking times.

I bought 4 Oster products (griddle, waffle maker, toaster and can opener) overall quality is "OK" I'm not impressed with any of them.
Awesome griddle for a while
April 4, 2016
I have used Teflon griddles and stainless griddles but this one is truly nonstick! Heats evenly and cooks like a dream. I've cooked everything from eggs and pancakes to porkchops with no burn on spots on either food or griddle. Still looks new after heavy use for several months. Update- bought in January and the non stick was completely gone by May. Fought with it till July when the ceramic started to chip off. Griddle was used heavily and daily so if your going to use this occasionally it would be a good griddle. Daily use just destroyed this griddle and we did not scrub it hard or do anything against the instructions of care.
Excellent cooking surface but some issues ..............
December 21, 2015
We just love the cooking surface -- but it's all downhill from there. There is nothing to hold the grease or warming trays in place when you move the griddle; they fall out just from walking with the griddle held level and more quickly if you tip it at all and break easily even from hitting a padded vinyl floor. Hot grease has already damaged the grease tray. The fingers that guide the warming tray into place are bent easily when washing making it difficult to get the warming tray into place after you pull it out to put pancakes into it. Our control failed in just a couple of months because the electrical connections were not tight and overheated annealing the connectors so they would no longer grip the electrical studs on the griddle. Our control also runs about 100 degrees hotter than indicated, enough to melt 30+ year-old (plastic-like) utensils that have outlived a half dozen prior grills. The surface is not really non-stick if you run it over about 350 deg but does clean up well with some SoftScrub. The concept of this griddle is good, but the design and execution are terrible. We would continue using it, living with the issues, it if we could get a replacement control, but so far Oster has not responded to our inquiries asking for a replacement. I suppose we could send the whole unit to a service center but the time and effort and shipping cost rule that out.UPDATE UPDATE UPDATEWell, it took nearly a month but I did get an email from Oster. The email told me that a new griddle was being shipped along with a return shipping label to return the old one. I was asked to enclose a note describing the problem. The returned unit is going to a quality control group for the purpose of identifying the problem and ensuring whatever caused it is rectified. Clearly Oster is concerned with quality and it seems likely that the failure in my unit was unusual or at least will be in future production.Incidentally, the replacement unit Oster sent to me is an M20 rather than the M18 that I got from Amazon. It's longer but not actually larger because the grease drain grooves are wider and set out from the edges of the grille surface making the usable cooling area a bit smaller. The grooves do slope toward the oil tray nicely though. The handles are also much larger making the unit several inches longer overall. Given a choice, I would have rather had the one Amazon is selling. For the excellent service, albeit slow, I'm adding a star.
Easily cleaned with paper towels
May 29, 2015
Not submersible, and food crumbs can get between the edge and the surface, but so far it's working very well. Heats quickly and evenly. Easily cleaned with paper towels.Update after a few months of use: I have downgraded by one star. There is now a noticeable dark ring where the heating elements are. When cooking e.g. pancakes, you can tell exactly where these heating elements are because the pancakes will be much darker in those sections when you flip them, and somewhat under-cooked elsewhere. The first few items off the griddle seem to be over-cooked, so there seems to be a rapid heat-up initial phase. The corners are pretty much dead zones that do not cook as thoroughly. Because the non-stick cook top is placed atop a hard plastic casing, there is a gap between the two surfaces. Gunk and grease drop into this gap; it's not very cleanable. The warming tray is shallow, and really not of much use; for me, it's simply one more thing to fall out when I put the unit away. On the plus side, the surface is holding up reasonably well, despite the noticeable discoloration, and the non-stick aspect works very well and, so far, has not scraped off; it's much better than Teflon.
Not as "Non-Stick" as I expected. (Image posted as well)
January 22, 2014
UPDATE (Feb 3, 2014): I am changing my review to 3 stars. I felt 2 was too harsh as I DO use the product and it does work with certain items. However, I strongly encourage potential buyers to read this review (and others) and weigh all of your choices.I am not sure if I can recommend this product after using it for about 3 weeks.First, I should point out that when this Oster DuraCeramic griddle first arrived I noticed some subtle inconsistencies in the ceramic coating. Almost as if the coat(s) were not applied evenly. There were no bare areas, but certain areas definitely felt smoother than others and the "rougher" areas appeared to be slightly...slightly darker possibly due to an uneven coating. This uneven coating may or may not be related to some of my issues. The good news is that, upon the first few uses, the coating does seem to be MUCH more slippery than something like Teflon. I was very careful to follow all of there directions as far as washing, heating and when to preheat versus when to not pre-heat for something like eggs. I did always use a light coating of olive oil for both flavor and to potentially help with sticking, etc. (Maybe that was an issue, but I did not read anything to the contrary).Things like pancakes & french toast seem to cook pretty well with very little sticking. That is nice. However, thinks like eggs (Sunny Side Up / Over Easy, etc) and burgers seem to really, really stick. Stick to the point that my food gets destroyed when I try to flip and manage it. I will post a picture shortly with some eggs which I normally cook very well without breaking any yolks or burning anything. Eggs in particular have specific instructions to cook without pre-heating. So you are supposed to just put the eggs on when you turn the griddle on. I have tried this both ways with the same results - stuck and burnt eggs. The other factor is the temperature. They suggest a temperature of 300° (I think) for Eggs with no preheating. First, the temperature dial is strange on this griddle as others have mentioned. It goes from 270° to 320° to 370° (I think - not in front of it). So you are kind of guessing where 300° is on the dial. I even tried a lower temperature on the dial (270°) and STILL had issues.Burgers caused similar sticking/burning issues, but at least burgers are more durable than eggs. The burgers did taste good, but I will assume that was my amazing cooking ;)The other annoyance is that the griddle seems to be somewhat concave - even on a level surface. I will start with 4 eggs in the four corners and they will ALL slide into the center of the griddle and sort of merge together. This just makes it harder to cook them and also just makes my eggs look worse.
Won't Stay White for Long
November 23, 2013
We've had this griddle for about two months and have used it nearly every day. The first few times we used it we were very pleased with the nonstick surface. In fact, we almost thought it was TOO slippery. We couldn't get our spatula under anything without the food slipping away. However, after about ten uses, there was an area that started sticking. As another reviewer has mentioned, once food sticks to an area, it loses some of its nonstick ability. Now there is a dark ring where the heating element is and food tends to stick. Otherwise, the surface is still nonstick. I would give this griddle 4 stars if I was able to clean it, but without being able to use abrasives on it, the burnt areas where the heating element is will not come off. I would still recommend this product over some of the other traditional nonstick skillets and griddles we've tried, but just know that it doesn't stay white and pretty for long and there will be areas around the heating element where food will stick a bit more.

It is okay but stained after only a few times of use.
September 20, 2016
So far this product is working fine but the inside coating of the pan has discolored. I've only used it a few times so that is not a good sign. It does not seem to stick so that is good.
Although I like it because it is not made of Teflon
March 21, 2016
As I read a review, this gets hotter in the center than the rest of the skillet. It may depend on what is being cooked. I only used it one time to cook a few onion rings. The rings in the center were almost burned while the others were cooked just right. Although I like it because it is not made of Teflon; but is made of ceramic. Other than that minor flaw, it seems to be a great skillet.
Works but has temperature control issues
March 10, 2015
Works for basic needs but has inconsistent heat.

Pros:
Surface is very easy to clean, and much harder than Teflon.

Cons:
Temperature control issues
-The way the temperature control works on this unit is full on, until it reaches it's dialed in temp and full off until it senses it needs heat again. Unfortunately this mean your food will be cooking away then all of a sudden, sitting their because the heat sensor has yet to kick in again.

The heat coils are in a circle mid center of pan. The heat surface are is very inconsistent as you might expect, the heat coils around the center tend to burn the food near them while the edges could use some extra heat.

Final thoughts:

All and all, if you need something cheap to get by, then will work. But if you intend to use this more than one a week, look elsewhere for something with more even heat distribution.
After using for a couple months there is a ring ...
March 2, 2015
After using for a couple months there is a ring on the inside where the heating core is underneath that the food always sticks to now.
Terrible Design with a SHORT cord
October 22, 2014
I have had a few electric skillets over the years and this has been the only one that the cord will not reach my outlet.
I like the ceramic coating but the overall design is poor, besides the short cord the handles are in the way and makes cleaning a real pain if you have any spillage.

The handles need to be removable without unscrewing them to make cleaning easier.

I have bought the larger skillets in the past,( still have a new one) but wanted a smaller one for smaller cooking jobs

March 21, 2017
very disappointed, I've used it less than my past non stick electric griddles and they were still "non stick". I've had it since September and it is no longer non stick at all. We've used it maybe 2-3 times a month and and have only used a dish rag or blue scratch resistant scrub sponge. We had our last griddle for years before it's non stick coating stopped working.
Doesn't cook evenly!
February 22, 2017
I have been using this Electric Griddle for a few months and it certainly heats up quickly and cleans well as advertised. What it doesn't do is cook evenly outside of the heating element ring. The inside and outside of the element does not get as hot as the ring where the element sits and it makes it hard to cook omelets, pancakes and other large items that need to cook evenly. This should be a priority for ALL electric griddles.

Disappointed
February 8, 2016
I have never left a negative feed back, here it goes. I bought this because my OLD Black & Decker griddle still works but cloth cord got hot. I make pancakes once a month 3 batches... grilled cheese every Sun. Thought the ceramic would be better than black non stick.Bottom line: it has hot spots makes it difficult to cook pancakes evenly. The ceramic surface after minimal use is already showing brown areas that I can't get clean. Sorry disappointed is my only comment. Deliver excellent. ThanksWill be using old faithful again.
Really liked it for about a month
April 22, 2015
Bought the ceramic grill as a change of pace from the traditional non stick grills. Really liked it for about a month. But after using it several months and only a few times each month for breakfast items, each time i cook bacon on it, gummy, brown residue sticks to the white surface under where the bacon had cooked. This causes sticking for anything, like eggs or pancakes, or hash browns, that you might cook. A real pain to clean too. Just not worth the hassle. Going back to a non ceramic grill choice.
Did not meet expectations
August 17, 2014
I really wanted to like this griddle. I cook pancakes almost every morning for my three boys and I also use an electric griddle to cook flour tortillas. Because I use a griddle at least once a day I kept having to replace my electric griddle about every year or so due to the non-stick coating flaking off. I decided that I needed to look into getting a ceramic electric griddle that would hopefully last much longer.Sadly, the options are very limited and we could only find 2 that might meet our needs. This griddle and another griddle made by Oster which has a reversible plate to be used as an indoor grill. We originally bought the other griddle but once we received it were very disappointed in the size for the price that we paid so we returned it and ordered this griddle instead. When I received this griddle I was a little disappointed when I first opened it. It is quite a bit less expensive than the other griddle, but it seems cheap. The ceramic cooktop is completely different from the other Oster product - the other griddle seemed a lot more heavy duty than this one.It seems to heat fast, but it also cooks hot - I had to turn the temperature below 300 degrees because otherwise by foods (pancakes and tortillas) were getting scorched on the outside and not cooking completely through. It seems to easily get dark, "burnt"-looking spots on it. I know these spots can be cleaned off using a little water and baking soda that you rub in with your finger, but I really wanted something that was an easier and quicker clean than that. After only a few uses it seems that it isn't as non-stick as it was the first time I used it and pancakes seem to stick when I try to flip them. In fact, I haven't even used this product over the last month because I'm just disappointed in it every time I use it - instead I've been using a stove-top griddle even though I prefer to use an electric one.I was also disappointed in the warming tray on this griddle. I've never had a griddle with a warming tray, but I liked the idea of being able to keep pancakes warm while I continued to cook. However the warming tray is cheap flimsy plastic and it doesn't even slide in and out with ease.I would not recommend this product.

Not recommended
January 24, 2017
I ordered this DuraCeramic Electric skillet hoping it would be better than a teflon coating. I am very disappointed in the way food stick to the skillet. I have used spray to keep it from sticking but then the spray burns. I have tried cooking several different kinds of food and it all comes out either sticking, falling apart or looking very good. I should have returned this after the first use. I will be donating it and buying a different type. I do not recommend this skillet.
Problems with heat control
May 24, 2016
We received the original, had a problem, contacted the manufacturer's customer service and received a replacement, but that one showed the same problem. It was impossible to control the cooking temperature. "Simmer" was too hot sometimes, and further up the dial was impossible--things burned quickly. Maybe it was the ceramic construction, but for whatever reason, my wife couldn't leave things cooking on this. We're returning it once more.
Very disappointed in it
January 25, 2016
Very disappointed in it. I thought the ceramic coating would be perfect. No potential chemicals in the non-stick surface and food would not stick to the surface. I have had it now for several months and since the first time I used it food sticks to it. It is not because I am turning the temperature gauge too high. I have been using frying pans for 50 years. The non-stick surfaces of older models were far superior. I will not buy this one again. Wish I could return it for some other frying pan but since I have used I think it's the price of learning a lesson.
A little time will tell: A re-evaluation
November 21, 2015
My first review...
----------------------------------------------
I've been using my trusty Presto electric skillet for years, through various generations and replacements. I went outside the habit this time for something different.

I am beyond "impressed". This is literally the slickest item I've ever used...
---------------------------------------------

~6 mo's later...

I was delighted with this product for the first two weeks. Now I'm older but wiser.

They put the money into the ceramic coating, but the electronics are worse than awful. There are two distinct hotspots under the element which will burn a pancake, while elsewhere it will remain undone. And worst of all, the thermostat turns on and off capriciously causing you to have to continually fool around with it trying to finish the dish you started.

Too late to return it now, so I'll trash it and buy a Presto, which is what I've always used.

I'm disappointed.
Big Step Backward in Cooking Technology
November 14, 2015
I bought this because my old Teflon electric skillet started to flake Teflon. But this ceramic one is a constant nuisance. It burns even on low temperatures because the material is so thin it becomes too hot over the heating element. I always have to scrub it to get the burns patches off. Additionally, the temperature graduations are non standard. Every cooking appliance I have ever seen has 50 degree F increments like 300, 350, etc. This has odd increments like 220, 270, 320, 370. With my Teflon one, I could cook a perfect pancake at 350, but this one burns them every time at a lower temp. And the pancakes stick and tear apart. Finally, it wobbles and needs more than a 1/16 inch shim to make it sit on all four feet.

June 6, 2017
Purchased this product less than 6 months ago and it's cheap! At first I was so excited but within a month one side started sticking (I followed all cleaning protocols so the ceramic should not have been damaged). Over the months it's gotten worse and now one side doesn't heat and cook while the other side does. It was such a beautiful product and sounded amazing in the description but it didn't last 4x as long as my previous griddle which lasted 4 years, it didn't remain non stick, doesn't cook evenly or fast. In conclusion it became a disappointment rather quickly.
OSTER DURA CERAMIC GRIDDLE
May 9, 2016
I TRIED THIS GRIDDLE TWICE NOW. SAME ON BOTH, HOT SPOTS, AND THE NON STICK PROPERTIES ARE STARTING TO STICK. THE PLUG THAT CAME WITH IT FITS LOOSE. IF I CHANGE TEMP SETTING, IT TAKES A LONG TIME REGULATING THE NEW SETTING. MIGHT AS WELL GET A REGULAR GRIDDLE AND SPRAY WITH PAM. WOULDN'T RECCOMMEND THIS PRODUCT.
Nice idea poorly executed
October 31, 2015
Where to start? I've used a lot of ceramic cookware and long ago cleared the house of anything with Teflon. I've also owned a lot of griddles over the years. Never have I had a griddle so poorly designed, nor a cooking surface so bad.1. I've had this for 5 months. The harshest thing I've used on the cooking surface is bon ami, and that only when absolutely necessary. It is scratched up like you wouldn't believe.2. The mechanical design is such that the warming tray has melted in multiple places.3. The cooking surface in uneven - cooking eggs on this is comical, as everything runs to the middle and then straight to the grease hole.4. Heat distribution is atrocious. Pancakes have a single dark line from the heating element long before they are cooked anywhere else.I wish I could think of something nice to say. I was hopeful to get back to an electric griddle, but this one was a total waste of money.

Very unhappy with this griddle, so unhappy that i threw it in the trash. No temperature control at all. At a 350 degree setting the actual surface temperature was over 500 degrees. Everything burned or stuck. The ceramic became impossible to clean especially where the heating element is. I was hoping to get more than a few weeks of service from this product.
Worst griddle I've owned
June 28, 2015
Huge dead spots at all temperatures. Gets way too hot in the spots that do heat up, even on low settings. Pancakes burn within in 30 seconds at any setting over 270, despite the manual recommending 325 for pancakes. Not non-stick AT ALL, even after "seasoning" as some have recommended. My husband had disposed of the box before I had a chance to test it out the first time or it would have gone right back to the store. Do not buy.
Fail Oster
December 3, 2014
Initially, this product performed pretty well. Within the first week, a dime-sized chip developed on the ceramic finish, but as it was in the drainage area, it was not a huge issue, aside from an indication of product quality. The non-stick feature lasted for about a month, then we found we had to start oiling the surface so pancakes or French toast would not stick. Soon after, the griddle began to heat uneven, leaving dark lines within the ceramic finish over the area where the heating element is located. I finally gave up this morning and ordered another griddle, not of the Oster brand. A real disappointment; look elsewhere for your griddle.

Cover exploded when removed from skillet
September 15, 2016
The bottom scorched almost immediately even though I was scrupulous about cleaning it after each use. I overlooked that.

Tonight, I took the top off, set it on a cold surface and it literally exploded into hundreds of tiny pieces. I'm still cleaning them up. I'll be contacting Oster about this tomorrow with pictures of what I'm talking about and I'll post them here, but I just wanted to send out a warning to anyone using this appliance.
"Stick" Surface
February 18, 2016
I gave this skillet one last chance to fry an egg before tossing it in the trash. It's in the trash.
Heating was very uneven and as I said, it wouldn't fry an egg without it sticking to any part of the cooking surface that wasn't covered with oil, and in one instance I broke an egg right into the middle of the oil and it still stuck! The ceramic surface sounded good on paper, but loses everything in the kitchen.
DuraCermic coating is a terrible coating!
December 14, 2015
We had an Oster frying pan for years and were very happy with it. But as the Teflon finally wore out, we opted for this Oster frying pan. The first one we received looked like it should have been sold as a second and we returned it for a replacement. The replacement looked better, but the performance of the DuraCermic coating was terrible. Everything cooked in it, from pancakes to pork-chops left a burnt area on the DuraCermic coating. The only way to clean it was to create a baking soda paste and first let it set over the burnt areas. Then it had to be scrubbed vigorously to remove the burnt areas. We gave up when it wouldn't get rid of the burnt area after making pancakes. This was in an one week period of time! Seeing this as totally unacceptable, we are returning it for a full refund and we will get a different electric frying pan instead.
Epic Oster fail
December 4, 2015
Worst price of junk I've ever bought. But let's give this a real review. I'm comparing this to my 1.5 year old Oster Teflon coat skillet. Same dimensions.

Pros :
After considerable time thinking I finally thought of some.
1. Duraceramic coating is amazing for non stick and scratch resist.
2. It came with all 4 legs level.
3. It's light weight
4. Super easy to clean.

Cons:
1. Duraceramic coating heats up insanely fast. 90 seconds to hit 350. It scorched my bacon, no pun intended.
2. Heading element will not turn off. You hit 350 and it keeps heating up.
3. Short cord. Standard 2 ft cord like all skillets I've purchased in this price range but this hearing element had the cord at a 90deg angle so you lose a good 3 or 4 inches of cord length.
4. simmer setting. ... well there isn't one. Book says to turn it to simmer till it boils the turn down to warm. There is no warm setting. I left it on simmer and low and behold the element worked. My dish stated to boil and light turned off. I walked away. Timer rang 10 minutes later I check the food and it was cold. Skillet didn't turn back on.
Shipping on this also sucked which is rare for Amazon prime. I order on cyber Monday and received it today (Friday) using 2 day shipping.

So needless to say I'm returning this piece of trash and ordering a new model of my current Oster Teflon coat skillet. I'd rather be able to cook the food even though everything stick to this old skillet now. I can deal with that for a few days until I get my replacement.
Great little skillet. Only lasts a few months
February 25, 2014
Skillet is super nonstick. There is a slight learning curve though. It cooks hotter than a regular skillet. The first two toasted cheese sandwiches I made looked like they had just reentered the atmosphere. With a small adjustment of the temperature control all was well. Would recommend to anyone.
Update: 9/2016
Don't waist your money. The more the skillet is used the less non-stick it becomes. Skillet turns black where the heating is. This is my second one. No more junk for me.
