Surprising good--definitely worth it! Great feel, best value.
September 16, 2017
I was genuinely surprised by these chips. I thought they'd be flimsy or feel cheap, but they don't. We use them many times a week to play Blackjack or poker and they work very well. The chips "feel" so good. We loved that the chips were not marked with monetary denominations (we made them $1, $5, $25, and $100, which seems to be standard for many casinos). The handle on the case is cheap compared to the case itself (which is good for the cost), so the handle could be better. Be cautious when lifting the case by that handle. However, the plastic handle isn't worth docking the product itself any stars.I saw that this set, with a damaged case, was selling from the Amazon Warehouse (or whatever it's called) for $10 less than the new price. The case is very handy, so I would hold out for the new set if you can.Bottom line: If you want decent chips at a great price, go for this one!
Great set for the price.

I don't know what the other reviewers have issues with. This set isn't perfect and I'm sure there are nicer chips but for the price it's very very nice. The whole setup is surprisingly heavy with all the chips, they all have a good finish, feel great in the hand and they are more than fine for any home play. I will probably end up replacing the cards with KEM or Copag though for a paper set they are fine, and the chips could probably fit in the case with a bit more wiggle room. But again, for the price this is a very nice set.
Very nice set

I decided I wanted to learn to play poker over the summer so I purchased this. The quality is nice, the case and chips are sturdy and reliable. I feel like a boss, rolling into parties with this baby....even with my sub-par poker skills. I'd recommend this to all levels of poker players. I have no complaints about the set and I plan to purchase it again as a gift.
Great buy! Extremely pleased.

Read a lot of reviews trying to find the perfect poker set. Loved the price of this set, but was nervous because many negative reviews talk about quality issues. Took the chance and ordered it, it's everything I could have hoped for. Case was what you'd expect, nothing wrong with it, 2 decks of cards are of a cheap brand, but who cares, that's not why I ordered it. The chips, are absolutely perfect. I love the design more than most chips I've seen, especially on Amazon, and the weight is perfect (theyre heavy, almost magnetic), the texture, the sound as they click together. Played poker with my wife today with the new set and I'm very happy. As mentioned, definintely going to buy a new set of Bicycle cards to go with it but very vey pleased about the poker chips and case. Definitely a good buy.

Love these poker chips for the price. My parents used to have one of those round, revolving plastic poker chip trays with a handle on top -- filled with cheap, plastic chips. Great for how we used them when I was growing up.But these chips feel luxurious in comparison! The case is sturdy and the chips sit in comfort in eight trays. The chips are heavy, solid, and feel like real casino chips. They're unmarked so you can assign any denomination to each color that you want. The added bonus of blinds and dealer chips and two decks of cards is nice.So glad we bought these! Can't wait for our first at-home poker night!
High quality chips in a nice case!
August 15, 2014
These chips have a nice, quality feel to them. That may sound silly, but I wanted to avoid the cheapo plastic-y kind. These feel solid, the case is nice to have to keep them organized, and its not a pain to try to get them back in the right spots when you are done using them (some have strange slots that you can only put one chip at a time back, etc.).This set comes with white, red, green, and black/blue chips. it also has markers (large disc/chip) for Dealer, Small Blind, and Big Blind, and two sets of playing cards (one blue, one red, so you can combine them for some games, and easily sort them apart for others). The case is heavy (this is because the chips are high quality). I am very satisfied with this purchase!

Timely delivery and great set for the price! The case was not damaged at all. Neither were any of the pieces. I'd recommend this product for anyone wanting to hold a poker night. My husband loves it.

For the price, it's awesome. You can't get anything even close to this for the same price at your local Target or Walmart (and I've looked). The case is pretty cheap and flimsy though. I had to send back the first one because the handle broke. But so far this one's holding together. The chips feel great. I look for any excuse I can to break this thing out, I love it!

Chips are fine for the price; case is subpar.
July 17, 2017
This was an impulse buy on a day this set was heavily discounted. I set my expectations accordingly for this pretty inexpensive set of chips, and I would say that I'm overall pleased with the purchase. The chips are good enough for a casual home game. If you are trying to impress people with your chips, then spend more money for nicer chips. But if you are looking for a set that you can pull out for an impromptu gathering or a home game, this will do the trick. I think the color distribution of the stacks is just fine. The thing I'm not thrilled with is the case. My main issue is that the chips, in stacks of 50 as displayed in the case, do not fill up the entire row for the chips. So instead of the 50 chips fitting snuggly in each of the 10 rows, there is enough room leftover in each row for a few more chips. The liner of the case is very cheap, too.Overall, I was buying this set solely for the chips, and wasn't too concerned about the case, the cards, the dealer button, etc. It met my needs.
Good Chips/ Bad Extra's
December 29, 2016
The chips themselves were excellent, but some of the side items lacked quality. The cards cracked and the corners bent on first use so they were useless. There were chips to designate both the big and little blind people which I feel were un-needed.I would have liked to see some plastic pieces that would go under the cards in each deck to help hide the bottom card of the deck. Other then that it was an excellent set of chips. There were 4 colors and an adequate number of each.
Great Poker Set for the Price
July 11, 2016
Let me start with the case... the aluminum case is rrally nice, but had a couple places where the case wasn't completely pressed together...The inside of the case was pretty nice the chips, 2 decks, and markers for dealer smal and big blind lay semi-nicely into a plastic holder with what seems to be a felt liner on top... the tip of the inside of the case has a nice foam protector...The chips are are decent which is what I expected for the price range of a 500pc set... they are uniformly tound and thick and have some decent weight to them... there aren't any values on the poker chip faces which can be good or bad depending on preference... the chips do have minor flaws where the width of the poker chip faces might be a little ineven with the other chips...For $30.00 this poker set will definitely be satisfactory, but if you want really nice quality chips then maybe keep looking... I give this set a 4/5
If you grouse about the quality of these chips, you probably don't have enough money to be playing poker anyway.
March 4, 2016
After reading a ton of reviews here I figured that, at the price ($35), odds were good that I was going to get a box of 500 serviceable betting disks. I was, in fact, correct. These are not perfect, but they're all uniformly round, of uniform thickness, and have a nice heft to them. They will serve your wagering needs more than satisfactorily. If you're reading the reviews and questioning whether you should buy these or not, ask yourself "when a quality set of 500 poker chips can easily cost upward of $100, how much credence should i really give to someone's review criticizing minor and cosmetic issues with this set of chips?" The answer is "not much."Reminds me of the people at the $3 blackjack table complaining about how others at the table are playing. If you're that great a player, you should be at a higher-stakes table. If you're a poker superstar, what are you doing buying this cheapo set of chips? If you're not a poker superstar, these are the chips for you.For all us regular humans, this is going to be a fine set of chips.
Chips are great. Case is not.
January 27, 2016
This is a great set of poker chips to have around for card night. They are really heavy! No they aren't exactly casino quality. Go to a casino for that. If you're ok settling for slightly less than that and don't expect everything to to be perfect for you (especially at this price) then you'll love them. That being said, you're buying the chips. The case is garbage. It can't handle the heavy weight of the chips inside. The first set I got was totally destroyed in shipping. The second came a little dented. so now I am careful with it at home when I take it out and put it away. If Amazon ships it properly it'll last you for quite a while.
Good Chips for the Price
February 18, 2015
I got this as a gift for my nephew, who is only 9 years old. He wanted to learn poker and I thought this would be a good starter set. That is exactly what it is...a starter set. If you're looking for an opening price point set of "heavy" chips and don't really care about the quality, this is the set for you. The chips are fine, but they are not uniform and the coating on some of the chips was cracked/scratched. The case is lightweight and will likely damage easily, but I really can't complain as the price is right and I'm not that picky. If you're good with decent chips and playing with your close buddies, these are perfect. If you want to feel like you're playing at the Bellagio, spend more on something else.

Good price = Cheaply made.
August 15, 2016
I have purchased poker chip sets in the past, as far back as 2005, and the common theme is that the case is very cheaply made. They are also made differently. At one point I had to go into a billiards store to actually hand hold and inspect and pick out a very nice sturdy case. If that is understood, then this is a good product for the price. The one I received had a plastic insert which had cylindrical rows for the chips to sit in, as opposed to a bar between chip rows. I am not a fan of the plastic insert. Also, the blind buttons were not the ones pictured- not a big deal though.I am however curious about the chips. They feel much more like plastic and not 11.5 grams. I have another set that is 11.5 gram clay composite and they feel different.Overall, this was a gift for a 14 year old so for the price, I am satisfied with it. Unfortunately they skip out on quality in the case to keep the cost down. I would suggest paying more for one in a store that you can physically examine first, or trying a more expensive one online.
Good feel and weight, poor color/graphics quality
April 22, 2016
Bought it based on the reviews that the case wasn't very good but the quality of the chips were excellent. I didn't find that the quality of the chips to be that great. Weight and feel is good. The colors and graphics on the chips on the chips are messy, spotty and blurry. Seems many of them should have not passed quality control. Maybe these are the chips that failed quality inspection and that is why they are relatively inexpensive but it would be nice to know that so I can set my expectation. I don't remember reading that the graphics were subpar in any of the reviews. I personally would have paid more money for chips without this problem however, other chips offered on Amazon did not have better reviews than this item.
Cheaply made but a good set if you don't want to spring for clay chips
March 7, 2016
You definitely get what you pay for with this set.Pros: Great price and have a good weight to them, carrying case makes transporting the chips super easy, has plenty of chips for a table of 6+ peopleCons: The cards it comes with are awful so before you start playing make sure you buy some nice plastic cards, many of the chips have holes in the plastic coating that exposes the metal underneath, there is also a pretty pungent smell on these chips when you first open themOverall this set is worth around $35 so I am happy with my purchase. If you want something nicer go for clay chips.
Okay, but not high quality.
December 2, 2013
The good: if you're looking for a decently-priced starter set (as I was), then it's fine. The chips are clay and feel good in the hand. The bad: the case feels cheap. The handle looks like it might not be able to hold the weight of the case (it's a bit heavy, but it's 500 chips so it's kinda expected). The case come with a set of keys to lock it with, but they're cheap and seem to be just for show--after multiple attempts, I have not been able to lock the case shut. The felt is also cheap; upon inspection, the chips are covered with a black dusty-ish residue that I figured out to be stuff coming off of the lining. The paint job on the chips is decent but a little messy--some of the lines aren't very clean and there are a few chips where you can see excess paint has dried on the ridges. One other reviewer mentioned the color of the white chips; it's true they're not snow-white, but more of a very light taupe or off-white color. This doesn't really interfere with the usability of the chips, so it doesn't bother me as much.I'll update my review once I've used them a few times.
Meh
June 1, 2013
This item serves its purpose. I ordered it in April, and didn't notice till today, but it did not come with the dealer chip or the blind chips. This is disapointing and I use a candian quarter for a dealer chip. I wish I had noticed that it was supposed to come with them earlier because I would have notified Amazon to see if I couldn't get the chips sent in an envelope or something. That's my fault, not theirs for not noticing. So keep that in mind. The cards are pathetic. I use bicycle brand now, but the cards that come with this are a very thin, paper. It's like they used a printer and standard office paper to print them. The chips themselves are pretty good. There are a couple of the white chips where the blue paint bled onto the white, but I'm not sure if this was a defect, or if perhaps someone set them in water. Either way its a downer. I noticed that after a couple uses, so it might be that somebody set it in a water ring or something so use caution. Over all for the price I'd say grab them, just pay attention to missing items, avoid getting them wet, and buy a couple sets of bicycle cards.
Satisfactory cheap chips with worthless case
March 5, 2012
The case itself is an awful plastic mockery of a real chip case. The hinges on mine look like they could snap any second. But for 500 chips, the price is outstanding. I just need a backup set for larger games, so these go in the closet for occasional use. If that's your situation and you're really careful, then the case will probably hold up for awhile. If you're buying this as your main set, then plan an alternate case strategy. Now, as for the chips, they are OK, but just OK. They match the common dice pattern that a lot of folks have. But they seem like they are a notch down. A few were chipped and the quality is a little "plasticky". I'm used to the soft feel of quality clay chips and you won't have that here. They smell pretty bad out of the box. Like chemicals. But that fades if you air them outdoors for a couple of days.As I said, this is a good backup set, but not a very good primary set.

Good value at ~40 bucks but far from high end
October 7, 2017
Overall a decent chip set.The chips themselves are of good quality and have a nice weight to them. The case itself is of very low quality and can’t be expected to hold up to any abuse at all. I received 2 Big blind buttons and no dealer button which is slightly annoying and I don’t know if this is by design but both decks of cards were the same color blue instead of being blue and red to make it easier to not mix them up.

the chips are nice quality; the case so
February 12, 2016
Just got my order, the chips are nice quality; the case so, so, but will suffice- I didn't buy this set for the case to transport outside my basement. I would recommend the set for the first time buyer as it is a nice set. However, I am only giving it 3 stars because the paint scheme of the chips shown is different then what I received... I specifically bought this set because it matched the set I already owned (based on the picture) - I was looking for an identical set for my second poker table. This deviation, having two different style of chips, is going to create confusion when we combine two tables to one deep into a game. For this reason, I only give it 3 stars.
Sufficient
August 18, 2015
Chips and cards: These are standard chips, good for casual players. I bought these to play poker with some buddies once every couple of weeks. Some of the prints on the chips are off center, not really a big deal unless you really pay attention to it. The cards are okay quality, nothing extraordinaryButtons and dice: The Dealer, Small Blind and Big Blind buttons were of the worst quality. It seemed like these might have be from a refurbished set. The buttons had several pronounced scratches on them and were not in any form of wrapping - they were loose when I opened the case for the first time. The dice were also scratched and chipped.Case: Lifting the case by the handle for the first time I can tell that it's not a very durable case. I'm worried the part of the case that the handle is attached to might snap off whenever I lift it by the handle. The inserts in the case feel cheap and would probably not last very long.Verdict: I wanted an economically favorable option for a decent set of poker chips and this was the answer, although I do see the value in getting the more expensive sets. If you have an extra $30, spring for the better set.
Good chips to have fun; but don't expect great quality.
January 8, 2009
I bought this set, with knowledge of other types of chips available, material, weight, and quality of poker chips. I have thoroughly researched poker chips and decided on a cheap set since I'm not a serious poker player and wanted to just have fun.PROS- Chips feel and sound solid.- Great price for what you're getting. It's 500 chips, with the right amount of each, comes with cards, dice, and the standard dealer button. The "aluminum case" holds the chips for storing away.CONS- Inconsistency of chip sizes. When shrink wrapped, a pack of 50 chips for one stack is either smaller or bigger than another stack. I thought I did not get all 500 chips, but everything is there. The chips, when compared one on one, are almost identical, however, when stored away, you can clearly tell there is an inconsistency in size.- Cheap cards. I did not expect the cards to be of good quality, but I bought it disregarding the cards. They are thin, have a very cheap coating, and if bent, will crack and leave a good crease that is noticeable.- Aluminum case is not durable. When I opened the case, the molding at the bottom used to hold the chips cards and dice was cracked, bent, and not in good condition. BE AWARE: this case is not meant to be carried around for a long period of time or to be handled roughly. It is scary to carry the case around because since the total weight of the chips is pretty heavy, the latch on the case does not click into place. The work around is that it does come with a set of keys to keep the case locked, but the lock is flimsy and locks after you shake the key around several times. Even so, I'm sure that if you knock the case against a wall when it's lock, the lock can pop open and picking up 500 chips from the floor is not a fun thing.OVERALLIt's a great set to start with and just to have fun, especially if you are not a serious player. The price is good for the chips, and you can even shop around for a separate aluminum case if you really wanted to. It's better to just keep this set in one place instead of moving it from house to house. You will not be playing with the case, and quality playing cards are cheap. The chips are what you need to focus on, and for this price, the chips alone are worth it.

While a decent set of chips for the price, the case actually came with a broken handle, making it worthless. The case was dented as well, but I don't really care about that. Busted handle makes it the pits.I wouldn't buy it. Can't vouch for competitor's cases, but I'd try one of theirs and skip this one.
Poker set is very nice, but it arrived fairly damaged
January 28, 2017
Poker set is very nice, but it arrived fairly damaged, both ends of the bottom of the metal case were smashed in, and the felt covered plastic was broken into pieces. Not going to go through the hassle of returning it (the sucker is pretty heavy) but I wanted to publicly air my grievances, though of course it's impossible to tell if it was damaged prior to shipping, or during shipping.

July 25, 2016
The case is awful. It really feels like it might fall apart if I just held it by the handle for about 10 - 15 minutes. The corners and seems are all bulging and separated. I give it two stars because the chips were OK. They have a good weight and I didn't see any obvious cracks. Just about every chip has paint and form flaws, but I'm not that picky about them.
Disappointment!
July 18, 2014
I bought his set for my husband for Father's DayWhen it arrived the littleMetal Brackets that basically hold the box together were falling off. Two of them are now completely off the box. And you can not pick it up anymore. The chips starting to chip paint or clay pieces off as well!
Disappointed - Usable, But Not Good
March 8, 2014
Let's start from the beginning. The case is very shoddily made: there were a few cracks on the (what felt like plastic) surfaces, and the metal trimming was bent in several places. The black felt padding on the inside of the case would rub off on the chips, and there was a fairly unpleasant smell about the whole inside. The packaging around the chips inside the case was extremely flimsy. The plastic wrapping around both the black and green chips was already broken upon opening. And, like previously mentioned, the plastic that was intact had black dust all over it from the felt lining of the case. The chips were very dull looking, and the colors weren't as shown in the picture. The red chips were the worst: they were a brownish brick red rather than the vivid red shown in the pictures. The white and green chips were also dull in color. The chips felt light and cheaply made. When running your fingers along any given chip in the set, you are likely to find places where the plastic wasn't properly sanded down after being detached from the rest.Overall, I'm very dissatisfied with this purchase, and plan to return it. In fact I'm not commenting on the cards or buttons as I've not even opened them. This is a cheap poker set. Of course it IS a poker set, so you could certainly play with it if you want. But it's not quality, and certainly not worth the price.
Missing a red chip
September 26, 2012
The box (suit case) was short 1 red chip.... that's incredibly annoying The inside of the case is also built really crappy. The particle board (it wasn't wood) that creates different pockets for the different colored chips was stapled together, except half of the staples missed the mark, and a good portion of the inner slates were too short so there's viable gaps. Long story short, I got annoyingly giped 1 red chip and it's assembled poorly

Fast shipping which was good. But these are not the chips I ordered nor were they the chips in the picture above. I I was under the impression that these were dice style chips and they weren't so they didnt match my other sets. Disappointed to say the least.
I was disappointed
February 2, 2009
I ordered this set for a Super Bowl get together. Ordered them with one-day shipping to arrive on time. Fed Ex didn't get them here on the day expected so they arrived the day after the game. Oh well. I opened the box to find what appeared to be a very sturdy aluminum case. But upon opening the case I found what another reviewer did: The chips are not equal size. No tragic. Just awkward. But what really turned me off was the interior of the case. The padding was ripped, when brand now. The case slots for chips were extremely cheaply formed. I can't imagine what it would look like in a year.If this is a set you might use once a year then it's ok because the chips ARE a ok weight. Just don't expect them to feel top quality. But if this used with any frequency I suspect there will be "slightly mis-sized" chips flying everywhere when the entire case fails. Sorry, butno fault to Amazon, but I returned my set to order one with a higher quality build.

Stay away, not worth the incredibly cheap quality.
February 20, 2016
I was really disappointed when I received this item. It was of incredibly cheap quality, the case arrived open, the chips were all over the place, and the case was broken inside. The card decks are imitations of Bicycle cards and extremely flimsy and cheap. I can't even use them. In addition to that, the button text ink is smearing off. This was just an all around bad purchase. If I weren't in the process of moving, I would totally have returned this. Take my advice and invest another $20 in a far better poker set. This was on sale for a reason. Very dissatisfied customer.
NOT AN AMAZON BEST SELLER
January 7, 2016
Do not be fooled by that little "#1 best seller" icon over this chip set. If this is an Amazon best seller it must also be a "#1 most returned." total junk. case is dented all over the place, the cheap liner is beat up and fits poorly and the chips look like they've recycled they're so faded. had this out of the box for maybe 4 seconds before I put it back and got my return label. this chip set is just awful.

I ordered this as a gift and was disappointed to find major scratches in the case. I exchanged it and the second case came with major flaws in the metal and fasteners. I exchanged that one and number three came with major scratches.Bottom line - THIS IS A PIECE OF JUNK - and should not be sold by Amazon. Whoever this supplier is should be dumped immediately. Amazon reputation down a notch for not realizing from the comments on the returns that there is a systemic problem here. The chips are OK, but can be bought for less than half this price without the case.
