Keeps kittens safe from older cat
October 3, 2017
When deciding on size to order, I finally opted for this thinking it would give the kittens room to play at night. Sooo happy I bought this larger size. They adapted to it from very first night and, at first would play in it, couple of months later they generally settle down for sleep. The two set of doors is perfect for location we have it; one entrance is theirs; the other is for cleaning out the litter pan. Setting it up wasn't easy since the instructions were locked inside out of reach --- duh, folks. We anticipated that our older female cat wouldn't be happy with new additions to family; this kennel keeps them safe as we work with her on fully integrating kittens into household.
So far so good
June 8, 2017
The crate is very easy to setup, takes less than 2 minutes. The sides of it came a little bent, but I'm thinking that's because of a soft packing and bad handling. In all, my 51lbs Golden fits in perfectly. She has enough room to move, to stand, to sit, and to lay down widely. I bought the 42in long crate and she's 38in long when laying flat, from curved tail to front paws. She was not a fan of the plastic tray as it's a little flimsy, making her scared of noises it made when walking on it. However, that is easily fixed with putting some cushion (bed, mat, etc) on top of it. I made sure to give her the whole day to get accostumed to it and placed her toys inside so she knew it was hers from the get-go. At night, she barked a few times (trying to get some attention), but went on sleeping peacefully in it for the rest of the night.Very pleased with this product. AmazonBasics again giving me what I want at a fraction of he cost.
All 3 Fit!!!
September 27, 2016
I have a Pomeranian, Maltese and a Shih Tzu. I ordered the 30" double door crate. I was so surprised on how spacious it was. All 3 of the little ones fit in there just fine. They love their new room :). Very happy with this purchase!
36" for a 60 lb 10 month old Labrador
September 20, 2016
WHAT SIZE FOR WHAT SIZE DOG?? If you're like me, and wondering which size to get for your little guy, read here. I was scrolling up and down reading reviews because I didn't know which size to get. I would see pictures of Labradors in the kennel but no one would say which size they got. FOR THOSE WITH LABS OR DOGS SIMILAR IN SIZE TO LABS: I got a 36" and he is a little cramped and has to bend when he stands and sits but we got this kennel for night time. This is is upstairs kennel that he only sleeps in. It is perfect for that. He has room to lay out and relax. The only thing is I wish it was a little taller for him, but like I said we got this for sleeping. If you want the kennel for long periods, like when you're at work, I would recommend the next size up. We didn't need that big of one so we went with the 36". Took me under 5 minutes to remove from the box and put together. Instructions are not needed. My dog was excited to get inside becfore I even finished putting it together! And if anyone is curious on the Mizzou bottom and has a dog that likes to chew up pads, I just wrapped a blanket around the bottom tray! It works perfectly! I really hope this helps out those not know what size to get because I had a hard time but I am VERY satisfied with my choice! Please let me know if I helped you out.
Amazing deal!
June 8, 2016
Wow, these same size kennels sell for over $100 at the big box pet stores. I was kind of expecting the quality to be terrible because it was so cheap, but it's almost the same quality as the more expensive kennels I have.

Worked Great on our 10x10 kennel provides good shade and keeps our dog dry. You will need a hand setting it up but no major skills needed. It has held up great through high wind and thunderstorms
Easy to install on our dog kennel
July 13, 2016
Easy to install on our dog kennel. Provides tons of shade and we have happy happy happy dogs! Seems to be holding up great and keeps the rain out too. Would recommend two or three people for help installing, but light and quick to get on.
Well thought out!
June 4, 2016
This product is really well thought out. One word of advice, installation is definitely a two person operation. One word of advice to the manufacturer, it would be very helpful to include instructions for the brackets that mount the frame to the dog pen.
The quality and design is good. However
May 19, 2016
The King Canopy Dog House Kennel Cover met my expectations. The quality and design is good. However, if I were asked to make a suggestion on how to improve it, I would make it a little longer on each side so that the rain does not come in and wet his dog food.
Fun Project
October 11, 2015
I am a 51 year old woman with no particular skill set other than elementary school teacher (I know, super powers!). I put the topper together and bolted it to the top of our 10 x 10 kennel by myself!!! Following the directions, I attached the tarp first then tried to bolt it on as directed. I had to detach one side of the tarp to relieve pressure so I could pull the pipes out some on all sides and allow it to reach the four corners where it needed to be bolted. Yes it does fit but you need to pull the pipes out a bit...there is plenty of wiggle room for this. You can not push the pipes all the way into each other nor can you push the pipe legs all the way into the piece that connects to the fence. It took me less than 2 hours to do this by myself...I did use 3 ladders and 4 five foot pvc pipes to make up for no people help. I put the pvc pipes through the top links in each corner of my kennel so the topper could sit there while I worked to attach each corner properly. I had a 12 foot ladder inside the pen which helped me get the topper from the ground and onto the corner contraption I had made to hold it while working. I had a 4 foot ladder on the inside that I moved around to each corner as I worked. I had a 3rd ladder on the outside which I don't think I ever used. I also used my heavy duty home built dog house to stand on sometimes (just because it was so heavy I couldn't move it to use the ladder. I was using a basic hand wrench until my ever so helpful husband took some time out from work to come see what I was doing. He approved of my progress but taught me what a ratchet wrench is and showed me how to use it....wow....what a tool! I tightened all 4 bolts with my new toy, re-attached the tarp and it has been up for 2 weeks through several rain storms! I also put a flat kennel cover (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00WJ15PAI/ref=cm_cr_ryp_prd_ttl_sol_1) underneath it because one of my 3 dogs is a climber and the canopy does nothing to help contain the beasts. The canopy helps keep debris from gathering on a flat cover and disperses rain more efficiently. It is not intended to protect the animals from all of our Earth's elements. It is not intended to be a permanent structure. It is well worth the money for the job it is intended to do. I did use the "extra" bungies and a few more I bought to secure the 2 sides along the kennel. The directions say that is not needed but I figure it couldn't hurt. I am attaching photos. My "kids" are happy too.
Enduring tarp, a good and well executed concept
May 25, 2014
A strong system with parts to last. The tarp is heavy duty and won't outlast blizzards and ice storms, plan accordingly. It's a survivable design and quite handsome when put up. Would and have recommended to friends. Had it up for two years now.Setup requires the know-how of the average tool owner and requires about 45 minutes, a buddy/wife to be a third hand, and a ladder for easing the process. The bungee tie down system is well thought and do NOT throw out the included replacement set.Through hurricanes and gales the bungee system and grommets endured. What fell mine was an ice storm where an inches of ice froze on top of the tarp, the sheer weight of it caused the grommets to rip out of the tarp and the midline pole to buckle and warp. This is not the fault of the manufacture but rather the poor planning to take down parts of the bungees to allow for run off. Cue a Memorial Day weekend project and me and a nine year old reinstalled the grommets (kit available at most hardware stores) and a PVC pipe for the midline. The replacement bungee straps were safely stowed in the closet and reinstall brings the shade right back to my dogs' kennel.

Perfect for her but only because she is not one ...
June 30, 2017
Item is as described. My dog loves it, set it up and showed it to her and she walked right in. I bought the 36 size crate for my 55lb dog. She fits, she can turn around and she can stretch out. Perfect for her but only because she is not one to try to escape a crate. If your dog were to attempt to break out of this crate I believe they could do so. Just keep that in mind, you get what you pay for, it's cheap and works with an animal who doesn't have crate anxiety.
Good crate for the price.
June 29, 2017
This thing is what it is. A sturdy dog crate that is perfect for home use. It's a lot bigger than I anticipated for our puppy. The divider makes it work, even though it's probably bigger than she'll need when full grown. Our 50 lb Aussie mix fits in it with room to spare.you really can't beat the price and it dies exactly what we need in regard to potty training or puppy. Would recommend and purchase again. The only reason this is a 4 star re it is that their is a sizable gap under the divider where her toys and chews slide under making retrieval difficult.
Nice quality overall.
April 28, 2017
The kennel is nice quality and arrived quickly. For the price I paid, I expected the construction to be more lightweight, so it's better than anticipated. My only complaint is that the snap on handle for carrying isn't well designed in that it slides back and forth on the bars, rather than fitting snugly between the support bars on the top-- which would keep the kennel from shifting if you're carrying it and the animal moves inside. I don't use the kennel for carrying often, though.
This cage is good quality for my purpose
January 31, 2017
I had to buy a cage to keep my cat in for a couple months after he fractured his spine. This cage is good quality for my purpose. It is big enough to fit the litter box , cat bed , and food bowl comfortably (24x36). The 2 doors made it convenient to change the food and water, and the pan at the bottom pulls out for cleaning. I saw some reviews saying the bars are weak, but my 55 pound kid sat on top of it a couple times and it held up fine.
Great Crate! Plan to Keep for a Long Time!
July 19, 2016
I'm not going to say that my dog loves the crate, and I didn't love the crate at first either, because it's so big. It takes up a lot of space in my room, but it keeps him comfortable and safe at night and when I can't watch him so that makes me happy. He always knows to just go on into his crate when it's bedtime, and after a few minutes of being in his crate, he's fast asleep on his orthopedic crate mat. He's only three and a half months old, but he's a really smart dog. He's already figured out how to get out of the baby gates, but I can tell that he won't be able to figure out how to get out of his crate any time soon,So far he hasn't been able to chew through the metal bars, and it doesn't look like he'll ever be able to chew through them, but I'm leaving one star off until I can verify that that either won't happen or that he'll give up on chewing on the bars before it does happen. The only problem that I have with the crate is the fact that when I put the divider in, it forced the side door of the crate closed, so I could only put my dog in through the front and since he wasn't 'close' enough to me he cried all night, so I had to take it out and I haven't used it again since. However, he hasn't peed in his crate once. He finally sleeps all night and doesn't wake me up, and it has really helped me with potty training. He's a White German Shepherd Dog so I'm confident that they crate will be large enough to fit him when he's 60-70 pounds in another three months or so.Now, if I could just get this crate to teach him to stop chewing on wires.(Also, don't leave wires near the crate. I had an unplugged computer cable a few inches from his crate and he pulled it in an chewed it in half).

The product is a good sturdy kennel but the bottom slid out tray was damaged. One corner was broken off, must have happened in the delivery process. We can still use it though thank goodness. We are awaiting our new dog addition to our family and then it will get tested out for durability. Hope it holds up as our new baby is going to be a pretty good size.

it's a great idea.
January 16, 2017
it's a great idea... after a good deal of adjusting, I was able to make the frame fit... however, the tarp appears about 2' short on the width... it does not reach to the other side for me to attach with bungee cords. I have contacted the manufacturer, and hope they can assist. Will update... not sure why it doesn't fit for me and a few others, but appears to fit for some folks... I guess it depends on kennel style.
Worked well for a lamb for 4H
September 24, 2016
Good kennel at a good price. It was easy to put together with two people. The metal wire that holds the chain link fencing on is easy to bend which makes installation easier. Looses one star because if the bar that holds the gate is given too much force it will spin, allowing the animal to get out. We just used a VERY large carabiner to keep it closed. This was used for a lamb for our daughters 4H project and she really wanted out and was jumping on the gate, so only one star off for there not being a way to secure it a little better. If this was for a small to medium dog, no worries. It will probably work just fine as it is.Very happy to have purchased this. It contained a lamb for a few months with no problems except the gat which was easily remedied and cost a lot less then other ones we looked at.
Great product
September 17, 2016
We purchased one of these covers for our 10x10 kennel. It was easy to assemble and worked very well keeping the sun out. It actually even kept the in climate weather out, as well. If you live in an area, that has snowy winters, then you want to knock the snow down, before it gets too heavy. All in all great roof for the price.
Good Product
May 1, 2016
We mounted this on our 10'x10' outdoor kennel. It was easy to put up (took less then 30 minutes) and covers the kennel well enough. It does leave an open gap at the front and back, but still provides enough shade for our dogs.
great, just be prepared for the installation-it won't go as planned
December 10, 2015
It is great, but it is true that it doesn't fit exactly. There is about a 6 inch gap and my husband was super angry while trying to install. After the anger wore off and the dogs benefited so well from this he LOVES it, but all the other reviews I saw said to be aware it won't fit and the pulls they give you won't stretch enough. We used some zip ties (go ahead and buy some long ones and plan before hand so it may not frustrate you so much) and we don't have a handle in every grommet. It really helps in the hot summer days and even though the dogs are in the shade, the tarp also helps divert rain and it is very durable. We have had it up for several months and i live in Tornado alley, it has held up in all our wind and storms-no problems. Supposed to have bad weather this weekend, i will update if it doesn't withstand it! :)
Does not fit the Doc Bob professional welded wire kennel, I attached copy of specs/assembly
January 14, 2015
This is a nice cover but I had to return it. It is attached to the kennel by single sided clamps which are 1 3/8 inch. These are too wide to attach at the appropriate angle to fit my kennel. My kennel is 2x4 with 8 gauge wire which is too thick for the 1 3/8 inch clamps to fit through. I returned it through Prime and bought a similar cover from Tractor Supply that, though not made by Doc Bob, does fit that particular kennel. It was also easier to attach as the clamps were double sided to clamp to both the kennel frame and the cover frame. King Canopy clamps attach to the kennel frame, but the other side has to be fitted into the tubing of the cover frame. The cover is shy of 10x10 itself, so rain will fall within the perimeter of the kennel. I have copied the manual for this item so as to get a better idea of how it fits. http://www.kingcanopy.com/images/DK1010PCSPCSInst.English.pdf

Good product for a big dog
October 8, 2017
I got it for a tiny dog. I wanted him to have plenty space when I have to leave him for long hours. I should have spent a few dollars more to get the double door kind.I can't reach my little dog unless I crawl inside myself, if he refuses to come out. It takes up a lot of space the way I have to place in my living room, which also would have helped if I had the double door kind ( to place it flat against the wall instead of sticking out). It seems well-made, but I regret my choice for these reasons.

September 26, 2017
It is adequately sized for my 50 pound dog. However, she is able to bend the front door in, and it gets stuck. I have to take the crate apart to pry the door open and straighten it out. Fortunately, there is a side door that I can use to let her out. The metal should be stronger - at least at the door.
It's okay
July 20, 2017
Having two latches on each door is a bit of a pain. Not just because you have to "open" the door twice, but also when dog is fumbling around inside and bumps the side, there's a lot more rattling due to the 4 latches. Annoying when you have a puppy that likes to punch the air while sleeping in the middle of the night. Maybe I'm nit picking. I've bought a few of these types of crates on Amazon from different sellers--they all seem about the same quality as far as sturdiness (which is to say it's sturdy enough), and about identical setup. Can't go too wrong with these. I'd just go with fewer doors and fewer latches.

February 11, 2017
Cage is a described. It is slightly cheaper but the paint is not as smooth as the others I have gotten from other companies. My dog doesn't chew on bars or scratch at them so I kept it, but the slightly higher price is probably worth it to get one from the pet store if that is a concern for you.
Easy to assemble
January 23, 2017
This is a well made cage. Easy to assemble. Easy access since it has two door. However, It is really small. I have a 6.6 lb Yorkie and she cannot fit in it unless she sleeps curled up. I used the charts supplied and the recommendations of othere to determine if this would be the right size for my Yorkie. But I could never leave her in it for a day or even for hours. I couldn't even put her in it for the night. I wanted to return it with the pad and it costs so much for return shipping that i will only get about 25% of my money back. So I will keep it and see if I can sell it to someone for their cat or rabbits or something. A tea cup puppy would fit in it fine.
Difficult To Assemble
January 21, 2017
The crate is sturdy and spacious once put together. Although, getting it set up was difficult and some pieces were bent and skewed so it was tough to get it all lined up. Once it's put together... just leave it. It's not the crate to fold up when not in use.

April 15, 2017
Bought this item and was disappointed. Frame is perfect but tarp doesn't fit at all. Had to go to hardware store to purchase a bigger tarp. If you can buy frame only Buy, otherwise spend more money for a better one.
because it isn't actually 10x10 ft like it claims it is
January 6, 2017
Simple to put together, but the tarp is far too small to cover the entire length. Which makes it difficult to use the straps to keep it in place. Placing this piece on top of an existing kennel is difficult. You'll need at least 3 people if not 4 or 5 to aid in keeping it where it needs to be. It took 2 of us 1.5 hours to put it on the existing kennel, because it isn't actually 10x10 ft like it claims it is.
which I'm happy to say
September 16, 2015
While the canopy does meet short-term needs, we found it to be of much less quality than expected. It is simply a tarp with tie-down straps attached to it. It is beyond me why Amazon chose to make this item less than 10 x 10. When it rains, the pen and ground gets wet. We also experienced a glitch in shipping the item, which I'm happy to say, Amazon resolved immediately.
Eh it's ok for the price.
June 15, 2015
Frame was easy to put together. Putting it on the kennel was another story. The poles slide too far into the frame which makes them too short to reach the clamps. Once we figured out that was the problem the rest was a breeze. Provides plenty of shade but I'll probably have to tarp it when it rains. There's a gap all the way around the kennel.
It probably does a better job shading
May 16, 2015
Was expecting the canvas to cover the 10x10 kennel...what they don't explain is that after you assemble the frame and put the cover on, it fails to cover about 2.5' -3' on each side ! The rain apparently still comes through the top I am assuming, as the concrete in my kennel, as well as bedding has been wet everyday from the rain this week. It probably does a better job shading ...hope so at least !

Bent on arrival
July 10, 2017
I am usually a fan of AmazonBasics products because of cost, prime, and quality if service. This time was a bit of a let down. We unexpectedly adopted a new dog on Thursday, and needed a new crate ASAP. Had to wait until Saturday to make sure we were adopting, as we had to check she would mix well with our other pup. Paid for the extra shipping to be here monday. Got here today(which is monday), and the cage is bent. All three walls on one end. Can't really send it back, because we really need the cage. The door sticks more than I am used to with other dog crates, and hopefully she is no escape artist.

May 14, 2017
I received this crate and several areas of metal were bent out of shape. I had to pry everything back into alignment to avoid my dog injuring himself. This crate is also about an inch shorter than expected, which isn't a huge deal but in comparison to the standard medium crate size, that is something to consider. The design of the crate tray that comes with this crate also makes the bottom area smaller by a couple of inches.
Crate came very warped
April 12, 2017
The one we received came damaged. Some of it was from shipping, and some from manufacturing. The whole thing is warped in such a way that made it incredibly difficult to unfold, set up, and even open or close the doors. Individual wires in the crate are bent, and the doors are warped.Overall I'm very disappointed. The 36" we ordered did not have these problems!
My dog was able to easily break all the wires and get out
August 15, 2016
My dog was able to easily break all the wires and get out. I have had 2 or 3 of these now. This time we got smart and added in some thick plastic panels zip tied to the door and sides and we reinforce the locks when we leave and its fine.
Get the MidWest iCrate instead
June 29, 2016
It took me 3 days to set this up! The directions were jammed inside the folded up crate, so it was difficult to figure out how to unfold it. Once I figured out how to unfold it, I didn't even need the directions, which was a good thing, because they were written very poorly. It's built fairly well, but since buying this, I bought a Midwest iCrate which is MUCH better - easy to set up and built better. I would avoid this brand.

June 10, 2016
The plastic tray of the crate is made from cheap, lightweight plastic that will not lie flat. I had to duct tape all four corners of the tray to the bottom of the crate in order to keep the tray flat and keep it from moving around under my dog. This taping defeats the purpose of having a removable tray that can be easily cleaned. I should have figured from the price of the crate that it would be flimsy. The wire mesh is also flimsy. The only thing I like about the crate is that it is expandable. The dividing section helps keep the tray from bouncing around, so once my puppy grows into the full crate, I will toss it and get a heavy duty one. If the tape keeps coming up, I may toss the crate soon rather than later.

October 13, 2017
The cover for the frame does not fit our 10 X 10 dog kennel. There is not enough of the cover to fasten it to the dog kennel. We ended up putting another tarp on it. The tarp that came with it only measured 8'9" X 9'7". Don't understand how 8'9" is supposed to fit.

October 13, 2016
Prior to purchasing this I read the reviews and found several that said it didn't fit their 10x10 kennel. I did see others that said it fit their 10x10 fine and thought that the people that couldn't get it to work on theirs must have done something wrong. So I took the plunge and bought it. Well, after wrestling with this thing for hours, I have come to the conclusion that it absolutely does not fit my 10x10.Though it is easy to put together, it was attaching it to the kennel that was impossible. I could attach it on one side, but it came up over an inch short of the other side. Maddening.*Update. I gave this thing another shot before the next rain comes and found out the major problem was/is. The instructions for this thing stop short of telling how to attach this roof to the kennel.Upon getting three sides attached with not much pole in each clamp (about 1/2 inch of pole in each clamp) I found I had nothing left for the last clamp and then it hit me. There is excess pole in the A frame. So much excess that you can seat it in the clamp on all four corners. Why is this part NOT in the instructions? Seriously, this whole clamping of the frame is NOT in the instructions let alone my discovery. For all those saying it doesn't fit your kennel, it does but you have to figure out extending the poles on the four corners about an inch or so out of the A arch at the top. I should lower this to a 1 star.....how can you forget this most important part? With this knowledge, I would give this setup a 3 star IF the instructions were correct. It isn't a perfect top for the kennel, but nothing else is really out there for my brand.
Not even close to the size stated, sent it back
October 10, 2016
Sent it back, said was for a 10'x10' kennel. Was too short by almost a full foot. Our kennel measures 9'x8"s by 9'x8"s so should of fit, but not even close. Not sure who is cutting and measuring here. Disappointed. Looked nice if it would of fit.
Will not fit a 10'x10' structure
September 18, 2016
If you have panels that are 10' long, this will not fit. The poles are too short length and width. Not sure what type of kennel this fits, but it won't fit mine. Figure it like this: 10' panel, plus the diameter of the pole (1 1/2") on each side, makes the structure too long and too wide for this canopy. Not returning it, I am going to buy a larger tarp, and add a few inches to the poles. Too much of a hassle to return.
Not easy as it looks.
August 13, 2015
Trap is 9.5 x 9.5 feet. Frame was a few inches too short to reach sides of kennel. Bungee are not long enough for the trap being short. Instructions have you assemble it on the ground and then pick it up. The piping slides apart when you try to pick it up. It is easier to set the one side up with help. Once frame is in place you can fight with the tarp. Frame should have been designed with locling pins to hold it together when assembling
Looks good when you put it together, but doesn't fit a 10x10 kennel
June 28, 2015
I am returning this cover because it does not fit my 10 x 10 kennel. It isn't even close to fetting it. The instruction also said to take down the canopy if a storm was coming. Who has time to put up and take down the canopy every time a storm comes. I am disappointed because the canopy looks good, especially for the price. It will be going back tomorrow, however, because it just isn't big enough.

Once the crate did arrive, it was too bent out of shape to even be able to set it up. The box it came in is too damaged to be able to use it to return the damaged crate. So now I have a big pile of metal that I can't turn in to a crate and can't return.
Awful!

Sharp points all along multiple edges and bars. I'll pay more for higher build quality.

Dont waste your money. This is my second try of this crate. Both times, the tray broke. the tray is flimsy. Crate is a good crate but unless you want to always buy new trays. ......

The tarp does not fit on a 10x10 dog kennel. Also upon request to return the item after finding out it didn't fit my dog kennel. They stated they would refund me the purchase, but wouldn't pay for the shipping.I would strongly recommend not getting this product.

Advertised that it fits a 10X10 kennel it says on the box that it fits a 9' 7" 'x 9' 7"I still tried to put it up but it wasn't wide enough. Due to bad weather i was unable to try to install it for two months, to late to return. I had to give it a one star just to be able to writ a review.

Did not fit a 10x10 kennel, tried to set it up using just the bungee ties and the tarp and the first rain tore it off the fence entirely.

I would not recommend this product, it doesn't even come close to fitting my 10' x 10' kennel, it is too small therefore it looks tacky. It does not match the picture and does not come with the poles shown in the picture. Very disappointed with this purchase.
