Stamina Hyper Bench
September 17, 2016
I agree with the other 5 star reviews. Very easy to assemble and very well made and sturdy. Now to see if it helps with my back ache and strengthens my core. If I am disappointed I will update this post, if I do not then all is well. Working on this slowly. Doing 10 reps forward and 10 reps backward and then resting for an hour. I will increase the number of reps and decrease the rest period over a period of weeks/months. So far it appears to be helping with backache and stiffness.
This is a really great addition to my garage gym
January 19, 2016
This is a really great addition to my garage gym. It's really compact, folds up for storage, yet is sturdy as heck. The quality and finish are pretty impressive. Was quite easy to put together as well, and I'm challenged in that department :) this was one of the pieces of equipment that I was a little bummed about losing when I put my gym membership on hold so I'm really excited that I'll still be able to get all the benefits of this at home now. I'm eyeballing Staminas adjustable jump platform next.
I love this bench!
January 15, 2014
A great hyper-extension bench! It is very solid with a nice range of adjustments. Been wanting one for some time now and I am not disappointed!!! I highly recommend it!
Wow, budget Hyper to get the job done!
January 11, 2014
I put this thing together last night, only used it once but so far I'm pretty impressed for the price point. I'm 5' 9" @ 175lbs, I typically use a 45lb plate when doing Hyperextensions, and I have used the more expensive $300 Body Solid 45 degree hyper and commercial ones at LA Fitness. Surprised to say that this thing actually holds its own with the others, very solid and stable! Biggest surprise was the steel thickness, this thing actually has a decent quality feel and once everything was put together and tightened down I felt almost ZERO movement from the Hyper. Being a male, my biggest concern was the front pad not being split, but on the lowest height setting I can honestly say it was comfortable and I don't see any need to add towels to protect the "McNuggets" LOL. There were some little blemishes from shipping, the rollers had some dents in the foam (will probably expand with time), and the bolts/washers were cheap, but overall nothing worth complaining about there.PROS1) For the price, this thing cant be beaten. It is VERY sturdy and functional for lower back and hamstrings!2) Two knobs on the main support, once both are tightened down there is ZERO wobble.3) Adjustable rear roller pad (Height, and distance from the main support)4) Foldable! I have a garage gym, space is precious, being able to hang this on a wall is AWESOME!5) Decent finish, but you are paying less than $80, don't expected a commercial chip resistant paint job.6) Fairly simple assembly, probably took 15-20 minutes to get everything level.Assembly Tip: Same way you would assemble any piece of fitness equipment, DO NOT fully tighten everything down from the beginning. I put all the bolts on and the hyper was visibly crooked at first, an amateur may think its just a piece of junk and try to return it. Assemble the machine tightening to hand strength on a flat surface, then adjust the machine to a comfortable position and lightly test it out, this will help get it level on the floor. After it feels level then go back and make sure everything looks straight and tighten making little adjustments where needed.CONS (Most Nit Picky)1) No footplate. Honestly though, I don't think it REALLY needs one. My feet rests easily on the back support, no biggie.2) Bottom feet of the front and rear supports are plastic and were slightly bent front shipping. It doesn't affect the stability, nothing to get upset about and I'm sure I could call Stamina for some replacements. Not worth it to me.3) Main pad is a little on the thin side, after continual years of abuse I can see it being the only thin that may need reconditioned or replaced. Heck, by that point I'm sure a towel would suffice.4) Made for tall people: I'm 5' 9" and the lowest height setting is absolutely perfect for me, I can rest my feet firmly against the bottom support and get good range of motion! If you are shorter than that, you might have to modify and have your feet suspended off the ground resting against the foam rollers (which is fine). Or drill another hole into the main support, which would take you less than a couple minutes to accomplish and might help those who are a couple inches shorter.Final verdict, I got a discount on the price due to Amazon points but I believe even at full price I would definitely purchase again. Of course the Body Solid Hyperextensions are amazing, but at 3x-4x less I'm still getting the same end result yet I can fold this one up and stick it in a corner when not in use. If you have limited space (apartment or garage gym), and are looking for a good way to add a workout to your lower back and hamstrings, then I don't see how you could possibly go wrong with this piece of equipment.
Very happy and pleased with the purchase.

Perfect for my garage gym. I was hesitant to buy it because I did not see many reviews but I got this for 99 dollars and has helped strengthen my lower back with only a couple weeks of sporadic use.
Great Hyper Bench for small spaces
December 7, 2012
I was reluctant to order this bench because I couldn't find a review anywhere. Amazon has spoiled me and I don't like buying stuff unless I can read reviews. I'm happy to say that my wife and I love this bench. It never ceases to amaze me how little manufacturers of exercise equipment consider space constraints when designing their products. A hyper bench, for instance, is probably 3rd or 4th down the line of things you'd put in a well equipped home gym, so space is already getting tight. This one folds up when not in use and leans against the wall in an unused corner - perfect. It's well made and easy to assemble. It's stable, and the adjustments are well thought out to accommodate big and small alike. I'm 5' 11" and my wife is 5' 1". We have it on one of the lowest height settings and it works well for both of us. Unless your 7 ft. or 4 ft., this bench will work fine. For home use, I can't imagine needing anything more.

My new favorite workout equiptment in my home gym.
June 11, 2017
This is an easy to put together, sturdy hyper bench. I have been using this for a little over a week now, and I can feel the difference my lower back, core, and glutes. My posture has improved and my lower back pain and SI joint pain is almost non existent! I use this after I use my inversion table to stretch my spine. I would recommend for anyone looking to strengthen their core. Although the box arrived damaged, the inner box was undamaged and there was no damage to the bench. I am so glad for Amazon global- no one else would ship this overseas.
Nice piece of equipment
May 1, 2017
I like this piece of equipment. It was extremely easy to put together, it's stable and it works as advertised. It does appear to be for taller individuals. There are 3 holes that you can use as your setting, however I slid the adjustable bar down past the lowest hole and just tightened it. I'm 5'8" and that is perfect for me. So that's not really a complaint, rather just an observation. If I used any one of the other 3 holes it hurt a little in the family jewels area, BUT I found a way around that and I'm very happy with this product.
Decent.

Mostly works good. The back part of the pad bent down some, but it seems to be okay. Wish the pad was supported better. Yes it's set up in my bedroom and I use it every other day.
It does what it is supposed to do, but ...
November 24, 2016
It does what it is supposed to do, but I am a little bit tall (6ft) for this and it uncomfortably squishes my jewels on ascension and descent. With that said, working through the discomfort, I was able to really help strengthen my lower back, and also stretch out all of the tight areas. And I dont have issues in that area anymore, so with pain comes pleasure.
nice for the price
February 27, 2014
i just received my stamina x hyper bench from amazon ,free 2 day shipping arrived in just 2 days . put it together in 15 minutes , good directions , no missing parts actually had extra bolts and rubber bolt covers . packaged well ,there was some blemishes and a few paint bubbles but then again it was under 100 $.. surprising stable ,i am 6' 0' and weigh 260 lbs it supports my weight with no problem, i was wondering how a 100$ bench would be when put to the test ,well i was using a 45 pound plate doing back extensions and i couldn't feel it wobble or sway ,really stable, feels like a much more expensive bench would be. great for back extensions , you can really stretch at the bottom surprising for how small the bench appears . now on the other hand it is not as good for sit ups or crunches as you are in an awkward position for situps , but with time i am sure i will be able to stretch back far enough so my abs will come into play ,it is not a roman bench in that regards ,but it doesn't say its a roman bench , i will up date my after i have it a couple of weeks .....
Excellent for the price but limited adjustability
February 26, 2014
I'm a very large person (6'6" and 260 lbs) and was concerned about possible stability issues on the Hyper Bench. After assembling, which was a pretty simple process for one person, I was pleasantly surprised with how sturdy it feels under my weight. I use it for back extensions, abs and dips -- it's an excellent add to our small home gym. I took off one star for adjust-ability. The unit adjusts well to accommodate my height, however there is no way to change the angle for your workout. If you're looking for a sturdy device that gets the basics done -- this one is an excellent option.

okay for normal size people. the price is great though.
December 19, 2016
Not easy to put together. Had to take a few breaks. Around 2 hours in total with no help. All the pieces were there however, I found the bolts very tight to manually tighten with wrenches. I'm about 160 pounds and it's okay in sturdiness, but I cant imagine a taller and larger person on this.
It was easy to assemble
September 30, 2016
It was easy to assemble. However, I was shipped bolts that fit and others that were too long so it wasn't secure. I had to go to the hardware store and get the correct ones. Which isn't a huge deal but when you but something like this you expect to have the correct parts.
If you're under 5'6" and want it for hip extensions, forget about it - it won't work.
February 22, 2016
It took 3 weeks of using it once or twice a week in my workouts to figure out how to use it. I'm just about 5' 6" tall, and up until last week was convinced that I was too short to use it. I tried every possible combination of the adjustable parts, tried standing on yoga blocks, with or without shoes, adding a blanket... I had it on the shortest pin, then just took the pin out so that the pad is resting as low as it will go. Finally after weeks of adjusting, I figured out the magic lineup. If you're using this machine for hip extensions, you need to bend at the hips, which means your thighs should be on the pad with your hip bones in the air. I have to be on tippy toes, with shoes on, in order to be in this position. That girl in the video must be tall! So it's not very comfortable for my calves and achilles, which get a rather good workout in addition to my butt and hamstrings. All that said, it is a rather nice frame. Seems well made and sturdy, and I love how it folds up. They just need to change it up a little so that the average female can use it (the average US female is 5.5 inches tall).
I realized sit was not comfortable. Also
January 13, 2016
It seems okay at the beginning but right after I started doing back extension, I realized sit was not comfortable. Also, it was not flat so it does not support my left and right pelvis or hip well. I felt I fall toward right instead of going right direction. Products good overall, maybe defect on sitting part isn't flat. Beside of that part, its rubber foot was damaged. I let it become its shape for few days but it is soft plastic never go back to original condition. Expecting return...
Not the unit pictured!
November 27, 2015
A well-made unit, but the unit I got differs greatly from the photo. There is now a bench on the front part, the forward floor contact piece is "U" shaped, and the rollers are on a pivoting arm. They've apparently modified it to allow for more exercises from a single machine, but that's not what I was expecting. You must completely assemble this unit, down to the last nut and washer. I left off all the pieces I didn't want that are not part of the classic "Roman Chair". It's a lot of excess hardware assembled that way.
Not for Short Folks
March 1, 2015
It's a solid product, but unfortunately it is not made for people only 5'2. Even on the shortest setting, I have to stand on blocks to get the proper height.

Bad design
July 9, 2017
I used to use one of these at the gym and felt it helped strengthen my lower back. This one arrived quickly and was fairly easy to assemble, however it is very uncomfortable to use for reverse sit-ups. The model I used at the gym had a space in the middle of the flat plate. This one does not and as a result there's too much pressure on the pubic bone; so much so that it is very uncomfortable to use. Very disappointed in this purchase.
Padding Extremely Sub-Par
December 4, 2016
While the product is exceptional well built in regards to the metal structure & bolts, the padding is extremely subpar rendering the item unusable. As you can see in the picture of the item, it appears as though there is additional padding at the top, yet it is on the back side of the support and makes no contact with your mid-section during use. All you can feel when attempting to perform hyper-extensions is the wood base, and no padding support. In addition, using this for "roman chair" sit-ups is awkward at best and again, very uncomfortable. Correct this issue, and this piece of exercise equipment would be OK for hyper-extensions only.
Decided to keep
October 27, 2016
Not what I expected but for a home gym it works. The pad area needs to be reinforced. It's just particle board under the pad.

Average, not enough padding for your abdominal area to lay on.
Not a good machine.
September 14, 2015
Item did not match pic at all. Bought it for hyper extension. Received a bench system with a non fixed leg support and a bench set up behind pad. Built it and gave it a try but found my feet slipping because it didn't have a foot plate or enough support to hold legs in place. Also as a guy found the single pad uncomfortable as I leaned forward. Apparently there are three versions of this. The one picture is an ab chair (red), then the one they sent me an ab bench (red), then the one in video with all the good reviews ab bench pro (pewter). So I returned this one.
Stamina Hyper Bench
February 11, 2014
My disappointment in this bench is that the legs support rod is too far from the legs when in position even with it in the lower set of holes. Therefore, it does not hold the legs down making it hard to support the upper body. It is also too far away from the stand where your feet should be, making it impossible to be able to lean over the pad (even with pad in its lowest position) and get out of it, the exercise needed for both the back and stomach areas. I can see this bench working fine for a tall person, but not anyone less than 5'6". If the rod could be lower and closer to the stand, this bench would work much better for anyone wanting to use it. My gym has one of these benches (not sure of brand) that works wonderfully and that is why I wanted to own one to have at home and use at my convenience.

Injury waiting to happen.
July 6, 2016
Breaks easily. Also bends at every connected bolt. Kind of warped after several uses. I weigh 165 and I was able to bend the bar dip handle after first use. Buy something better
Terrible welding and quality
June 10, 2016
Terrible welding and quality . bent dip handle @193 lbs after just 2 dip reps. Felt like it was going to all snap at once.Very weak materials... Was assembled proper and torqued all screws.
Unstable. Returned.
May 16, 2016
I found this hyper bench to be easy to put together and of quality materials. Unfortunately, the assembled result left much to be desired. I'm 5'8" and tried every possible setting of pad height, both for the pad at the top and the one at the feet. For the life of me, I could not find a configuration where the apparatus felt stable and I felt properly supported to do the exercises. My 6'0" husband and 5'2" friend both tried it, with the same results.I also had some issues with my return. I had to call both UPS and Amazon repeatedly. The Amazon team were able to straighten things out, and my refund was very fast once things were sorted.
Poor Quality
January 12, 2016
It was not completely welded. As a result, it broke when my boyfriend (185 lbs) used it the first time, and gave me a small splinter when I inspected it.
Do not buy this item
September 8, 2015
I only gave this 1 star because they require a star rating i would have preferred not give it any stars. This product has already broke and i just bought it in june.. I was using it and the bottom of the machine buckled and i fell over on it. Thank god i wasnt really hurt. Do not buy this item it is cheaply made and is dangerous.
Not sturdy
July 1, 2015
This product is poor quality and not sturdy. I weigh 190lbs and tried using a bar with two 35lb plates to do back extensions. The metal where the pin goes in bent and I almost got seriously injured on this thing with a bar across my shoulders. This thing says its rated for 300 lbs, but mine bent and broke at this weight. I recommend finding something else.
