Five Star Reviews: | 76% There are no reviews yet | 61% Ice cold water for biking September 25, 2017 I love these bottles! I have 2 and bought one for my mother. I take them biking and kayaking. When I take long bike rides I'll freeze one with water overnight. The other bottle I fill with ice cubes and water before I go out. The insulation has worked great for me. Sometimes too good on the one that was frozen... as it's still mostly a giant ice cube when I'm ready to drink it! I find the bottles do sweat, but since I'm using them while riding it's not a problem for me. I find it very easy to pull them out of my bottle holders and drink while I am riding. My mom loves her bottle too. It works much better at insulating than whatever old bottle she used before. Keep Water a Little Cooler September 17, 2017 This is a quality water bottle and does keep the water a little cooler than previously owned bottles. This bottle does not keep liquid cold. Such a bottle would be heavier and larger. It fits in my bottle cages tightly......however, I do have metal cages that can be slightly bent to accommodate small variations in bottle size. Over all a good product at a good price. pretty cool, actually August 31, 2017 I bought two. If you are wondering why the colors are muted, the outer layer is a milky plastic, the image is from a sheet of Mylar in the insulating space... pretty cool, actually. Good product August 16, 2017 I am happy as it kept my water very cold, better than any other water bottle I've had before. I thought that the lid was defective, but as it turns out, I was using a lid from another bottle. Now I'm happy. Works great! August 3, 2016 I was suprised when I left this in my hot truck for 1 1/2 hours and it still had a lot of ice in it! This is easily the best bike water bottle I've ever owned September 7, 2015 This is easily the best bike water bottle I've ever owned! Wish I had known about these sooner. Wide mouth, 24oz capacity, no plastic taste, tough (removable) loop for more mounting options and insulation keeps my drink cold for a longer amount of time! My only gripe is the the mouthpiece is a bit stiff... not nearly enough to remove a star though. Great product for the price! |
Four Star Reviews: | 15% There are no reviews yet | 17% Pretty good August 7, 2017 The insulation seems to take up a fair amount of volume, decide for yourself whether you'd have colder water for a brief time period or more water overall. We take it on bike rides and stop infrequently for water so the temperature is the same as our non-insulated bottle. The insulation also makes it hard to squeeze to get water out (minor complaint). Also it has a pull cap that has opened or been left opened and leaked in my car and places. That being said its a good bottle, we just prefer the camelback non-insulated one we have with the jet valve opening, I mostly got this one to try and it was cheaper. Good size, fits bike holder June 23, 2017 Good size, fits bike holder, better insulation than average sports bottle. Would rate it higher if it insulated better, but since it's not rigid it can't have a vacuum sealed insulation. I am pleased with it. Four Stars August 3, 2016 Cheap-ish but cute and easy to clean. Great for biking or when unscrewing a lid is inconvenient. Works but there are better! June 28, 2016 Does as is should but there are better in the same price range but being that this works I give it 4 and knock a star for others being better go for a thermos insulated bottle I bought one on Amazon $1 more and it keeps drinks cooler longer but holds less! Solid March 22, 2016 Holds a good amount, has an indentation that allows it to clip in and feel secure in the bottle cage and looks nice. Keeps drinks cold for longer than an uninsulated bottle, but I can't say I was wowed by how long it stayed cold/semi frozen when I filled it with half ice and half water on my hour and a half ride around noon on an 80 degree sunny day. Better than the alternative but nothing too surprising. Still a good product and good price. This is a nice bicycling bottle August 14, 2015 This is a nice bicycling bottle. Bottle top is the same style that all of us grew up with. No fancy valve or twist knob. Pull and go. The polar lining I was skeptical about that it would stay cooler longer. So I put it up against a camel back podium which I love and is another sleek bottle. I froze both bottles the night before close to full. The next day I took them in my hot car to do errands around town. It took about 6 hours for the camel back podium to completely melt. The polar bottle had about 1/4-1/5 of ice still in the bottle. After about 7 hours it was fully melted. So it does keep things cooler than other bottles. The handle loop on the polar is nice to hook it to a backpack or bike. I like that the polar has 24 oz over the podium at 22 I believe. A few extra ounces is nice to have on a hot day. |
Three Star Reviews: | 5% There are no reviews yet | 10% Meh October 27, 2017 I thought this thing was supposed to keep your water "ice cold" for hours and it really doesn't. I filled it with cold water and ice, and left for an expedition. After about 2 hours of being in the sun my water was slightly chilled at best, and room temperature by the time I got home. Also it really doesn't fit that much water, especially once you put ice in there. OK September 21, 2017 Doesn't keep liquid cold for as long as I would like. It would seem that if you fill it with 50% ice and 50% cold water, you should still have a bit of ice left after a couple of hours, but not so. I don't live in the desert either, Long Beach CA so it is not that hot. Still, it is better than a non-insulated bottle, and it does hold 24 ounces. ... because in comparison to the Podium nozzles they are terrible. Secondly your water July 25, 2017 First thing I did was throw the caps these came with in the trash because in comparison to the Podium nozzles they are terrible. Secondly your water, even if you froze the bottles overnight and put ice cubes in at the same time, are room temperature within 20 minutes. It's actually impressive how the insulation seems to have a warming effect while I'm out on rides.Get a lot of compliments on those American flags though. My daughter says the water taste like plastic we're trying to wash it and get that problem fixed June 30, 2017 My daughter says the water taste like plastic we're trying to wash it and get that problem fixed Looks bad March 8, 2017 The picture does not do this item justice. The insulation for the bottle is super winkled and it just looks junky. If it's more important to you that you have a cold drink for a long time, this is for you. If it's more important to you to have a nice looking bottle, stay away. Cheap and works reasonably well November 2, 2016 This is a pretty good, insulated water bottle; not perfect but again, pretty good.Positives: cheap, nice thumb/hand grip to pull it out of the cage, and acceptable insulation keeping liquids cold.It is very easy to clean, unlike the complex Camel Back model.Negatives: when full, it is hard to get a good draw of liquid. When full of iced liquid the bottle is very stiff.Looking for another one. Any ideas out there? |
Two Star Reviews: | 2% There are no reviews yet | 6% Though I love the size of this bottle September 30, 2017 Though I love the size of this bottle, it did not keep the water cold as I expected it to. So So . . . September 11, 2017 I found that it is hard to get the water out of the bottle as compared to other generic type of water bottles. The other issue I found was that the water had a 'plastic' taste to it. Not sure whether this was because it was new or not. Not as described by reviewers August 17, 2017 After reading the many reviews, I order this Polar Insulated Bottle. The reviews stated "the liquid stays cold and the container does not sweat". Well, the liquid didn't stay cold even a few hours with ice in it and the bottle did sweat. I will be returning this item. Not satisfied August 16, 2017 Comfortable easy grip bottle, firm no leak cap, but not happy with the ability to keep drink cold. Insulated is a joke, non insulated is as good. I suggest finding a different bottle January 27, 2016 Unfortunately I’m not thrilled about his bottle. I was hoping this would work great for keeping my water cool on hot summer bike rides in the Utah desert, especially after reading so many positive reviews. To be fair, the insulation is decent. Don’t expect anything INCREDIBLE, but it is noticeably better than a simple plastic water bottle. Unfortunately that’s the extent of my notable positives with this bottle. Here are my two main gripes:1. The screw-on top worked great for the first month or so, but after that it started to leak. At first I thought the drips were just from excess water that had found its way around the rim and inside the top when I was filling it up, but after carefully drying the top and the rim, a test proved that the bottle does, indeed leak. I have only hand washed it, so it’s not from the bottle warping in the hot dishwasher.2. My experience differs from others as this bottle doesn’t fit in my standard bicycle water bottle holder. Here’s the one I use: Planet Bike 6.2 mm Welded Aluminum Bicycle Water Bottle Cage. Even using this on my road bike and going over very few bumps I’m constantly having to reach down and readjust it so it doesn’t fall.I’ve heard the Camelbak insulated water bottle works great, although I’ve never used one myself. If I were interested in spending more money, I would probably test that one out. At any rate, I don’t recommend this one. Can't hold up to Arizona heat October 2, 2013 I needed an insulated water bottle that could keep water cold in the most extreme of conditions: over-100-degree-F Saturdays in Phoenix, Arizona. This bottle wasn't up to snuff. Water that came directly out of the refrigerator at the time I filled the bottle is, after just one hour, so warm that you can't tell it was ever cooled in the first place. I even put two ice cubes in with the water once just to see if that would slow down the rise in temperature. No such luck: after an hour in the desert heat, the water was as warm as it always is--in fact, as warm as it used to be when I was using a plastic water bottle with NO insulation at all. Isn't insulation supposed to make SOME difference? The stuff in this bottle doesn't. The funny thing is that when I fill my Camelbak backpack with *uncooled* room-temperature water from the tap, and then I fill my Polar bottle with *refrigerated* water (I always take both the Camelbak and the Polar bottle together on my two-hour bike rides), after an hour or two of riding in the sun, the water in the Camelbak tastes much cooler than the water in the Polar bottle...even though the latter was originally refrigerated and the former was not! So a backpack that is *not* expressly designed to keep water cool actually keeps it cooler than an insulated bottle that *is* designed to keep it cool. I think I'd better keep looking for a better bottle. This one failed the test. |
One Star Reviews: | 2% There are no reviews yet | 6% Horrible October 3, 2017 This is actually the worst insulated bottle I have ever had. I filled it with ice and refrigerated tea and set out on some errands. It's a cool day, only in the low 60s, and ALL of the ice had completely melted in less than 2 hours. By hour 3 my drink was no longer even cool. I did not leave it sitting in the sun either. I will stick with Hydro Flask, more expensive but totally worth it. Another inferior water bottle October 3, 2017 This bottle has been leaking where the cover meets the bottle. Thought it just needed the cover to be readjusted and sometimes it seemed ok but other times it would leak and sometimes a lot. Very disappointed especially since the return window is closed and it took me this long to realize it's the bottle and not the way I'm putting the cover on. I will add it to my graveyard of water bottles. ☹️ Former fan of these September 26, 2017 I've used these for years and have loved them. Eventually after years, the water began to taste strange, and I would order another. I recently bought another and in only a couple of months, with not very heavy use, the water is undrinkable. I won't buy another. Don't waste your money September 14, 2017 The red color looks like an aluminum foil wrap over a plastic bottle.... and the wrapping is not smooth or attractive. A bad wrap job and it makes the bottle look cheap. As far as cooling... doesn't keep a drink cold, even with ice cubes for more than an hour. Don't waste your money if you really want an insulated drink bottle that will keep your drink cold for longer than an hour. Disappointed. Don't waste your money on this one September 9, 2017 Plastic film between two layers of plastic tumbler. Pic looks better than in person. Does not insulate. Not worth the hype June 12, 2017 It doesn't keep your liquid contents cold for more than an hour and if you put ice in it I guarantee you it will sweat rivers. The bottle is difficult to drink from as well unless you want to stand there letting it drip the contents into your mouth a half teaspoon at a time you have to suck it out or squeeze the bottle hoping it regains its shape after. Also unless you screw down the lid with all you might it will leak under the lid. |
