Five Star Reviews: | 75% Especially Good For Vegan Mommas August 31, 2017 After doing a lot of research it seems like these are one of the best prenatal vitamins out there especially for vegans. I love how every ingredient is from plants and that it has all of the essential vitamins I need as an expecting mom. I know the capsules are able to be digested, but I prefer opening them up and pouring them into a drink. On the bottle it does mention that if preferred placing the powder in water or pure juice is acceptable. I pour it into my oatmeal protein shake every morning since it is too hard for me to swallow with just plain water and I don’t always have juice. I just make sure I consume every little morsel of the powder since I know my body needs it. I love the vitamins and I highly recommend them for any expecting mom. Quality ingredients December 1, 2015 I conducted extensive research and comparison of prenatal vitamins prior to purchasing these and I do not regret my decision! Although these are more expensive than other vitamins, you're getting what you pay for - and I am not a "you get what you pay for" type of person. There are an abundance of off brand and cheaper products that shine brighter than the name brand and more expensive competitors. These consist of quality ingredients, have REAL folates (a vitamin that significantly reduces the risk of spinal disorders in infants) - not the man-made chemical , and are gentle on the stomach. From their website: http://www.gardenoflife.com/Products-for-Life/Vitamin-Code/Multivitamin-Formulas/RAW-Prenatal.aspx - "With Vitamin Code RAW Prenatal, you can rest assured that our vitamins are uncooked, untreated and unadulterated, with no binders or fillers and always dairy-free and gluten-free." - "Vitamin Code RAW Prenatal also contains 800mcg of raw food-created folate." The REAL STUFF Seriously... Just buy them. November 5, 2015 I love these. Plain and simple. I am on my 3rd bottle of 180 pills. If you know anything about good vitamins then you know that these fantastic. Non fillers, raw, organic fruits & veggies. Just good ol' vitamins! The comment about there being sprouts in these and pregnant woman not suppose to being eating sprouts is silly... Pregnant woman's are recommended not to eat sprouts due to a possible bacterial growth on them. However, these are not raw sprouts fresh out of the garden - you're taking something that was processed down to be put in a vitamin and I don't think a company this well known would blatantly put an ingredient in their vitamins that would be potentially harmful to a pregnant woman when the vitamins are designed specifically for pregnant women lol.... I took these throughout my entire pregnancy and are continuing to take them now postpartum going on two months and still breast-feeding. As a sidenote my hair has never grown faster and I haven't once got sick since I started taking these! I would even recommend these to women who are not pregnant and just want a great vitamin. Love love love them! Perfect Prenatals September 16, 2015 UPDATE 3/28/16: I am currently 17 weeks pregnant and still using these prenatals. I have gotten over the taste of the capsule so it is barely an issue anymore. I take all 3 pills in the morning at once. Do I know if that's the best option? Nope. But I did that originally to utilize the ginger in here for 1st trimester nausea. I also take a separate DHA for Expectant Mothers. So far myself and my baby are perfectly healthy. I'm glad I started using these instead of yuckier ones with fillers and artificial colors and all that. It's hard enough to worry about what you eat day to day, at least your vitamins should be as close to natural as possible! Great prenatals - well I think so anyway! I am not pregnant (yet) and have been taking these for about a month. No side effect from taking them. The only thing that it took getting used to is the taste, yuck! I almost had to stop taking these after a few days because I could not stand the taste of the capsule. After a little bit, you don't notice the taste anymore. I'm glad because from the other reviews and from reading about these vitamins (rated one of the best) they are the best choice for myself and my future baby! Top Notch February 17, 2015 I'm currently taking these pre-pregnancy during the conception period. I was really nervous about it because so many people said prenatals upset their stomach and I've always been a bit sensitive to multivitamins. I'm very big on quality, natural ingredients and from what I can tell these are top notch there. So far so good. I don't have ANY noticeable irritations or illnesses. If this continues, I'll take these during my entire conception and hopeful pregnancy periods. They're pricey, yes but this is something I don't want to skimp on! PS - there seems to be conflicting answers all over the place about whether you are supposed to take 1 pill at 3 separate times per day or all 3 at once. I contacted the company directly and they said they are meant to be taken separately. If people prefer to take them at once, it's not harmful, it's just not optimal for absorption and could upset the stomach easier. | 70% Good for prenatal health, postnatal and nursing mamas June 8, 2017 I've been on these prenatals for what seems like years due to nursing my second child for a year and continuing to take after, as well as with a subsequent pregnancy. I have noted that these can not be taken on an empty stomach or else I'll feel nasueased when my body begins to process the vitamin. The vitamin for me isn't too big and doesn't take much to get down. Overall great buy and will purchase again when needed. Best quality prenatal for the price February 1, 2017 When I became pregnant I did a ton of research about what prenatals to take and what should be in them. In my first trimester, I was taking Garden of Life Raw prenatals but I had to take three a day and it was difficult for me to keep track of, so I began looking for a one a day prenatal after reading that there really was not a difference in taking a vitamin 1x a day vs 3x a day. I'm so glad I found these vitamins-Here's what sold me: -They meet all the criteria for prenatal vitamins (according to What to Expect When You're Expecting/Mayo Clinic/WebMd)- very cost effective. Amazon by far has the best prices I have seen- only have to take 1x a day- digest easily/ no nausea from taking these-USP certified(tests for body's ability to actually absorb vitamins)I also take Nature's Bounty Fish oil ( contains DHA) in addition to these prenatals Great vitamin October 4, 2016 I took these my entire pregnancy, and am now taking them as a nursing mother.... they have never once made me sick and I think they help a lot. I was losing a lot of hair postpartum, and then I got more of these to take and it stopped! So that's awesome! Great supplements! June 6, 2016 I've been taking these prenatals since I found out I was pregnant, 16 months ago. I am now the happy mother to a beautiful 7-month-old little girl and will continue to take the prenatals until we're done nursing. They have caused me no trouble and if they are partially responsible for my daughters' prenatal and postnatal health, as well as our success in breastfeeding, then I couldn't thank these vitamins enough for their help! Energizing November 2, 2015 My OBGYN recommended I start taking prenatals vitamins b/c we're planning on "trying" next year. She said it didn't really matter if we went cheap or expensive; they're generally all the same ingredients. So I researched a bunch of them and settled on these. I can't speak to any pregnancy-related benefits, as we're not there yet, but I have a ton of energy! I've been taking them for about 5-6 weeks now, and I've also stopped drinking coffee, but I feel very healthy and energetic. No bad side effects that I've noticed. Best Prenatal Around April 30, 2014 I am a pharmacist (BA in chemistry and Doctorate in pharmacy) and I spent a TON of time researching prenatals. I mean a TON. I was on drug databases that I have access to at work, read through forums on baby websites and this prenatal is the best that I could come across. This prenatal vitamin (PNV) was the only brand that I could find that was USP certified- thus meaning, it passes a dissolution test which proves that the vitamins contained within the PNV will be available for your body to absorb and utilize for your potential or growing baby! The tablets are not too large where they are tough to swallow and they do not have an odor associated with them.I decided to get the formulation without the DHA because that product is not USP certified. I buy a separate liquid DHA/EPA supplement.I am a pharmacist for Walgreens and even with my employee discount these vitamins are cheaper on Amazon! Great product and I recommend to my patients when they are looking for a suggestion on a PNV. PNV can even be taken as a daily multi-vitamin. You do not have to be pregnant or trying to get pregnant! |
Four Star Reviews: | 12% Great Prenatals- but you will need to add other supplements! September 18, 2016 Great Organic/Non GMO Prenatals- but you will need to add other supplements! Pros: This is a great product and one of the only food based, organic, non-GMO prenatals I could find. Food based is vital for baby! Cons: They do have a slightly strange flavor (just while you are swallowing them) so I usually try to take them with juice and not water to avoid noticing it. Note: These prenatals are good but are not 100% complete for many moms. They lack many nutrients you need to grow a healthy baby. I did a ton of research on nutrients needed for optimal fetal development and this is what I came up with. (Note: I am healthy woman with no preexisting medical conditions- each mom is different and you should talk with your doctor/ midwife to decide what is best for you). Vitamins recommended in pregnancy (upper limits): -- how much is in the Garden of Life prenatals: Calcium: 1000mg (<2500) – 125mg Choline: 450mg (<3500) -- 0 DHA: 300mg --0 Folate (better than synthetic Folic acid): 600mcg – 800mcg Iodine: 250 (<1100mcg) – 150mcg Iron: 27mg (<45mg) – 18mg Potassium: 4700mg --0 Riboflavin: 1.4mg –1.7mg B6: 1.9mg –2mg B12: 2.6mcg –6mcg C: 85mg (<2000mg) –60 mg D: 600IU (<4000) –1,400IU Zinc: 11mg (<40mg) – 7.5mg Biotin: 30mcg –300mcg Magnesium 360mg –38mg Based on this information, I still needed the minimum of the following nutrients each day: Calcium: 875mg Choline: 450mg DHA: 300mg Iodine: 100mcg Iron: 9mg Potassium: 4700mg C: 25mg Zinc: 3.5mg Magnesium 322mg Note: You get some of this with a healthy diet, but I wanted to ensure I was getting all of it daily for me and my developing baby. So I also take the following supplements each day with this prenatal: 1. New Chapter Whole Mega Alaskan Salmon Oil (wild caught) for my DHA (220mg) https://smile.amazon.com/New-Chapter-Wholemega-Supplement-Astaxanthin/dp/B002FU6I9K/ref=sr_1_1_a_it?ie=UTF8&qid=1474225642&sr=8-1&keywords=new+chapter+salmon+oil 2. IntraNaturals Choline for Choline 550mg https://smile.amazon.com/Choline-550mg-Pregnant-Cognitive-IntraNaturals/dp/B01A9WLFZC/ref=sr_1_1_a_it?ie=UTF8&qid=1474225230&sr=8-1&keywords=organic+choline 4. Garden of Life Healthy Blood (food based) for Iron: 28mg (note this is more iron than you need when coupled with this prenatal but when you are making 4-5 pounds of extra blood many women need it - this is different for each woman and you should get your iron tested) https://smile.amazon.com/Garden-Life-Vitamin-Code%C2%AE-Capsules/dp/B0098U0QWA/ref=sr_1_1_a_it?ie=UTF8&qid=1474225734&sr=8-1&keywords=garden%2Bof%2Blife%2Bhealthy%2Bblood&th=1 After all these supplements, I am still short: DHA: 80mg Calcium: 119mg Potassium: 4700mg Zinc: 3.5mg I do get most of this in my healthy diet each day, but just to be safe (and ensure I grow the best baby I possibly can) I also take the following “nonessential” but beneficial supplements each day: 6. Garden of Life raw B-Complex (food based) for extra B vitamins (these give you energy so best to take in the am and you pee out what you don’t need) https://smile.amazon.com/Garden-Life-Vitamin-Complex-Capsules/dp/B0098U0SQO/ref=sr_1_2_a_it?ie=UTF8&qid=1474226074&sr=8-2&keywords=garden+of+life+b+complex 7. Chlorella Spirulina 50/50 Tablet Mix for cleaning out my blood. https://smile.amazon.com/Premium-Chlorella-Spirulina-1250-Tablets/dp/B00FAB10ZI/ref=sr_1_3_a_it?ie=UTF8&qid=1474226153&sr=8-3&keywords=chlorella+spirulina 8. World Organics Ultra Concentrated Liquid Chlorophyll: to give me extra green nutrients, also it has been linked to decreasing blood loss during labor: https://smile.amazon.com/Ultra-Concentrated-Liquid-Chlorophyll-Ounces/dp/B008MOOS2W/ref=sr_1_1_a_it?ie=UTF8&qid=1474226366&sr=8-1&keywords=ultra+concentrated+liquid+chlorophyll Note: I don’t work for any of these companies and am not getting anything for this review. I am just an expecting mom that did A LOT of research of prenatals and nutrients needed for optimal development and wanted to share what I learned. Please talk with your doctor/ midwife to determine what is best for you. Hopefully I can help another expecting mom and you will find this information useful! Best of luck with your pregnancy : ) good prenatal, did not upset my stomach, non gmo! would give 5 stars except you need to take 3 pills a day September 13, 2016 These prenatals were recommended to me by my sister in law and I have been happy with them. They never upset my stomach, even in the first trimester when I was frequently nauseas. I found them easy to swallow and I liked that they could be easily opened to add to a smoothie. The only drawbacks that I found with these is you need to take them 3 times a day (I did breakfast, lunch and dinner) which could be easy to forget one or if you don't have them with you at work or when your out of the house can be a hassle. Also they don't have DHA so you need another supplement. Overall though, for the price the fact that they are non gmo and made with a lot of whole food ingredients is why I chose them and I would recommend them in a second. Love them May 31, 2016 I really like these, I can notice a big difference in how I feel... I do supplement with an extra iron pill since I'm very anemic when pregnant and a dha... when I don't take them consistently, my energy is low and I just feel crummy. But taking them keeps me balanced and feeling good and healthy. I will say though that sometimes I burp up the taste of the vitamins after taking them but I do that with any prenatals I've tried and these are the least bothersome in that regard. It stinks you have to take 3 a day but I'm fine with swallowing pills so I don't mind. Only four stars since they are the pricier side for prenatals but since they are raw I think it's worth it. Best prenatal on the market December 3, 2015 I researched extensively and it came down to these or new chapter. They were a tie, so I read reviews and this one was very slightly rated higher. I love the ingredients and the quality of these prenatals. I took them with my daughter and now again with this baby. They do not taste good at all and are rather large (especially hard to get down when already nauseous) however, I always mixed them in smoothies and could barely taste them. One other con, in my opinion, is that I have to take three a day. I'm lucky if I get one in! I would recommend for all pregnant woman due to the quality of ingredients and the fact that you can open them and mix in juice or smoothie with ease, despite the cons. High quality vitamin, no synthetic folic acid, but fishy smell and taste October 22, 2015 I searched extensively for the perfect prenatal vitamin and did a ton of research before finally deciding on Garden of Life Raw prenatals. I absolutely am confident in my decision to purchase these because the ingredients are just what I was looking for. Some of my qualifications were that it must be gluten free because I have Celiac Disease and also that it must contain folate rather than synthetic folic acid. This vitamin is meets those qualifications and several others. The only reason I give it 4 stars is due to the fishy taste and smell. I know this is common with many vitamins, especially prenatal vitamins, but it makes it very difficult to stomach and take daily, specifically on those days when morning sickness hits. Also, I would love to find a one daily prenatal vitamin, whereas this is 3 times daily. Otherwise, I'm extremely happy with this purchase. | 13% I just happen to like what they did for my hair and nails July 31, 2017 Used throughout pregnancy and ordered even more afterwards. I just happen to like what they did for my hair and nails. Multi Vitamin for Growing Hair and Nails and Baby!! July 12, 2017 They are prenatal vitamins for planning to become or pregnant already. They do work as I notice my hair and nails growing really fast. If you just want a multi vitamin these do the trick. Four Stars April 10, 2017 I liked this brand when I was pregnant. I found amazon to have the best deal. Not pregnant, but low in vitamins and minerals, ... February 8, 2017 Not pregnant, but low in vitamins and minerals, so I use these on a daily basis. No aftertaste, not horse pills. I can tell a different when I forget to take them for a few days, so they seem to be doing something. Daily vitamins with an extra boost.... February 3, 2017 I ended up having to purchase these in store since they weren't available from amazon. With that being said, I prefer these over basic women's vitamins as they offer extra nutrients that young women should have access to before getting pregnant. Prenatal starts with being physically able to carry a healthy baby to term. Getting the vitamins and nutrients that a woman's body needs is a huge help in having a baby. Believe it or not my beautician recommended this product because of my recent hair loss March 20, 2015 Believe it or not my beautician recommended this product because of my recenthair loss. It seems to be working! |
Three Star Reviews: | 5% Easy to keep down...if you can get it down. March 4, 2016 While pregnant I found that I looked for reasons not to take my vitamins. The smell of this vitamin and taste got to me and if I didn't take this along with something it made me want to be sick. However, once I actually got it down it did not upset my stomach and was one of the easiest vitamins to keep down. So, as long as I could mask the scent/taste while taking it, then it was a rather pleasant vitamin. I suggest drinking it with a sweet tea or having a strong flavor close. Taking this after my pregnancy was much easier and I have never had the urge to gag from it. Although the smell and taste are not as bad as I found it to be while pregnant, I still do not find either to be pleasant. Morning sickness made it difficult to swallow 1 capsule 3 times a day November 22, 2015 My OB said, there wasn't any use of spending so many $$$ for a pre-natal.. agreed that the quality may be superior, but with balanced nutritious diet, even a generic prenatal will suffice... In the initial days I did not have any problem swallowing the capsule, but once my morning sickness started, swallowing even one was difficult, let alone 3. I have about half a bottle still left, which I plan to finish off in the later months. I wish it was 1 capsule, once a day, then I might have stayed with the product.. Tastes Like Hay June 11, 2015 I love these vitamins for their content and all natural ingredients. There are however two downsides: 1. They taste like hay...as in horse feed. I have been taking them for about a month and you kind of get used to it, but my husband hates his (the men's version) and won't take them anymore because they make him gag. 2. You have to take three pills a day to get the full vitamin serving. I guess it shouldn't be that big of a pain to take one with each meal, but when they already taste gross and you are pregnant, sometimes that is just more than you can handle. I wish they could improve the taste and cram more into one pill. Other than that I guess they are adequate. HSPs may want to use some caution March 22, 2015 I usually love the Garden of Life Vit Code products - I take the Family Multi and the Raw D and both are excellent. I decided to try the Prenatal as a less costly option compared to the others. Unfortunately, something about this Prenatal makes me *extremely* jittery and anxious. It is impossible to focus and difficult to function for several hours following even 1 capsule. That said, I am usually sensitive and I am confident that other folks have a great experience w these. All other Vitiman Code products I've tried have been exceptional and I mos def recommend the company overall. Not enough iron for me March 16, 2015 Not enough iron for me! I'm vegetarian and am now slightly anemic at 24 weeks. Last pregnancy I had no problems with anemia and my prenatal then had 27 mg iron - these only have 18 mg. so I'm now on a high iron supplement to make it up and it's horrible. Kind of wished I had gone with a prenatal with more iron to begin with. Otherwise these gave me no problems! Started taking them a few months before conceiving. I like that there are 3 pills as I usually split them up throughout the day. | 7% These taste terrible. They leave a dirty-grass type taste on my ... June 21, 2017 These taste terrible. They leave a dirty-grass type taste on my tongue that remains long after I swallow the pill. Breackout no glow..lol May 20, 2017 For a pre natal its about the same as any other ive had compared with ingredients. The pill iyself broke my skin out horribly. Im that person who never had bad skin before so i was surprised to see breakouts all over my body (back and legs). I switched back to my norm prenatals and a month later it cleared up. Gelcaps easier to swallow than these huge ones, wife said April 17, 2016 These are hard pills and pretty large too. My wife liked the gel liquid caps better but she said she will use them anyway. Does not have iodine; Causes sick stomach for me. March 23, 2016 Took this prenatal until my midwife required I add iodine to my diet to improve my thyroid condition. Nature Made did not have iodine, so I switched to Rainbowlite. This also made my stomach somewhat sick. Good January 3, 2016 They make me really thirsty at night and the flavor is not very good. My last pregnancy I used the soft gel ones and I like them so much better Note there's no DHA supplement in these March 25, 2015 As prenatal vitamins these have been fine and haven't bothering my stomach when taken with food. However when I asked my OB/GYN to look and see if she liked what was in them, she noted that they lack recommended DHA supplement and I had to buy that separately. I believe this same brand sells a version with a DHA supplement in it-I'd buy that instead so you can just take one tablet to cover you! |
Two Star Reviews: | 3% Switched to one more effective June 5, 2017 This worked well for me for about 2 weeks, then my body must have gotten used to it because I went from a solid stool back to loose. I ended up changing to Garden of Life Primal Defense Ultra. I am having better results with the other one. Not to say this wouldn't work for some people, it just didn't work long for me. I have a good diet and exercise regularly, so I do feel like the probiotics are what make a difference in my digestive system. I don't know if it's a bad batch or if it was over heated in transport November 15, 2016 This is the 3rd bottle of this prenatal from this Amazon link that I've ordered. But, this particular bottle is making me feel very nauseous and sick. That didn't even happen with this prenatal in my first trimester. I don't know if it's a bad batch or if it was over heated in transport, but my 180 capsule bottle is worthless because I don't want to feel sick every time I take it. I would suggest buying this prenatal from a registered distributer as opposed to Amazon. Strong smell and upsets stomach = no go for first trimester. January 10, 2016 I really wanted to like these, since the quality of the vitamins are so great. However, the smell is very off putting, and I had to stop taking them during my first trimester. Even when I could handle the smell, they would upset my stomach. Eventually I couldn't even handle the idea of taking them anymore. I still have an unused bottle and I'm dreading using them. Also, I wish these would include Omega 3, so I don't consider these a complete prenatal supplement. Not for me. September 21, 2015 I've been feeling more and more strange after taking these vitamins this past month and a half. I can't sleep if I take them too close to bed time. I have been getting heart palpitations. I get really bad gas and I have to force myself to burp every few minutes to get relief. I've also noticed a bit of vertigo, but it could be due to combining this with hypothyroidism. Totally put off by the taste of these September 18, 2015 These taste awful and there was powder everywhere inside the jar (making them smell very strongly too). I had been taking New Chapter perfect prenatals during my first and second trimesters, but thought I'd try this one because there was an open box deal. Thank goodness I didn't pay full price for these because they're not nice to take and expensive. I can't imagine taking these while I was nauseous, so for mommies with a sensitive stomachs, don't go with these! I have to take them with strongly flavored foods, not water, but even then the taste/aroma isn't fully masked. I gave two stars because I'm sure they're effective (as far as nutritional content is concerned), but prenatals are taken by mommies who quite often have appetite issues and queasiness, making these a poor choice for sensitive mommies! | 4% Unsure November 10, 2017 I began taking this item and used it for approximately 4 days then switched to another prenatal that catered more to my needs.PROS:1) Small in comparison to others I have taken2) It didn't make me feel sick or nauseated3) You take 1 per dayCONS:1) Contains soy. This is a no no for persons with fibroids and ovarian cysts or prone to it. This is mainly why I stopped usage. Before I began pregnancy I had no ovarian cysts and in my second appt a large cyst was observed. Upon doing my research I recognised soy is a contributive factor.2) It contains folic acid instead of folates3) The dosage of iron was a bit too much for my liking4) The label on the bottle is completely different from what is posted on amazon. A bit misleading I think. The cons outweigh the pros, hence I won't be purchasing again. this prenatal multi vitamin is not the best choice if already pregnant August 3, 2017 my doctor suggest me change to the one with DHA, bcz helpful with brain develop. this prenatal multi vitamin is not the best choice if already pregnant. No DHA February 18, 2017 This is partly my fault. I didnt completely read bottle. What kind of prenatal doesnt have DHA?! Made me sick. December 12, 2016 I don't love these vitamins. They make me nauseous whenever I use them, and I take them with food. Everyday I just felt sick, and this was before I was pregnant so once I started getting morning sickness it just made it worse. I've tried other prenatals that don't make me sick so this particular brand just didn't work for me. Stopped taking these after the huge nature's made recall last ... July 5, 2016 Stopped taking these after the huge nature's made recall last month. I don't trust the safety of this company anymore. |
One Star Reviews: | 5% Worst stomach pain ever. February 17, 2017 I had the worst stomach pain since taking these supplements. There are dozens of other reviews that corroborate the fact that these supplements will cause gastrointestinal pain and discomfort, not to mention gas, bloating, and diarrhea--none of which symptoms are mentioned on the packaging. I threw all of mine out because it's just not worth the suffering. What a shame and what a waste! Buyer Beware! Not all sizes of bottles have the same ingredients. December 8, 2016 Amazon sells these with options of 30 capsules, 90 capsules, and 180 capsules (listed under the same product name). If you look closely, you'll see that that they all have different ingredients, so basically, they are slightly different products. Specifically, the 90 capsule bottle (which is the one I ordered most recently, prior to that I was using the 180 capsule bottle), has the information written in English and French. The package is slightly different, and I couldn't find that same product on the Garden of Life's website. What I did find on their site was a 90 capsule size bottle that is completely different than the one Amazon sells. The one sold on Amazon is obviously produced for export, and is not the same as the product Garden of Life sells in the US. Most vitamin content is the same, with the exception of Protein which is not listed on the list of ingredients on the 90 capsule bottle. The 90 capsule doesn't contain probiotics or vitex. It doesn't have the Raw Organic Sprout Blend either (which I guess is where the protein comes from in the 30 and 180 capsule pills). Worst of all, it contains fillers (silicon dioxide, hypromellose) which I bet is the reason why so many people get nauseous if they are using the 90 capsule size bottle that they bought on Amazon. The 30 capsule bottle doesn't list Vitex either, and it has a slightly different list of ingredients as well. The different size capsules are in reality different products, but they are listed as the same product that only differs in the number of capsules per container; which is not only very misleading, it also means that the product reviews or answers to questions written for those various products are listed all together on Amazon, and it's impossible to tell whether people were describing their experience with the 30 capsule, 90 capsule or 180 capsule bottle. For example, how do you know if the person writing a review was using the 90 capsule bottle with the fillers and without vitex or protein or the 180 capsule bottle that has vitex, protein and no fillers or the 30 capsule bottle that doesn't have vitex, but has brewer's yeast that the others don't have (they have regular yeast), and which can be a problem to people with gluten allergies. I first purchased the 180 capsule bottle. I studied the list of ingredients, I liked the product and felt good after taking it, so I went back to re-order it, but this time I decided to buy the smaller bottle. Since I had already used this product, and I clicked on the link that was listed for it under my Order History, I thought I was getting the same thing but smaller. I had no idea that what I was buying was essentially a different product. After taking just one pill I started feeling sick (nausea, headache, overall brain fog and tiredness). I pretty much felt like I was experiencing "morning sickness" typical for the first trimester of pregnancy (I'm not pregnant). I started being suspicious of those vitamins when I once took two pills at night, and I woke up feeling awful. I came back to the Amazon page just to discover that the bottle I bought (90 capsules), had fillers and binders, and was missing protein, probiotics and vitex (although I'm not crazy about vitex) that the 180 capsule bottle has. I felt very misled and angry. If I were to write a review for the 180 capsule bottle, it would've been a five star review. The 90 capsule bottle gets only one star. They way I see it, those are two completely different products, and the product in the 90 capsule bottle is significantly inferior to the product in the 180 capsule bottle. I know that many women who purchase this product like it because it claims to be all natural. Well the 90 capsule bottle isn't all natural, and it made me really sick because of the fillers and binders in it. Someone asked a question about this product regarding its gluten status, and the answer was that it doesn't contain gluten. Well, the 90 and 180 capsule product doesn't, but the 30 capsule bottle contains brewers yeast which is a gluten containing substance. I just don't see why they all can be listed as the same product... Just read carefully the description of the bottle size you are buying and take the reviews with the grain of salt. They are not all for the the same product. New formula is rancid December 18, 2015 I have been using these throughout my pregnancy among other garden of life products. The new bottle I received has rancid capsules. I contacted garden of life directly and they responded by saying it is their new formula and this rancid taste is a normal variation of their new formula. Natural products should NOT taste rancid. There is no mistaking a rancid taste. Not to mention I'm 34 weeks pregnant and do not want to put anything in my body that will go to my baby that tastes rancid. I was shocked garden of life brushed off my concern with the taste of the capsules. They didn't even ask me to send them to them to check the product. Very disappointed. I will no longer support this product as a healthcare professional either. These didn't sit well in my stomach no matter what ... September 18, 2015 These didn't sit well in my stomach no matter what I did and now I'm stuck with an almost full bottle of vitamins I can't take and I can't return. | 6% Will not be able to use these. August 19, 2017 I bought this back in June, but haven't opened it until now. When I took the plastic off the cap and then opened it, the seal was broken underneath. I will not be able to use these and can no longer return them. From now on I will open things like this immediately to make sure everything is intact. Formulation has changed not for the better August 15, 2017 The formulation has changed, contains iodine, vitamin k and soy, all of which I need to avoid and were not in their product that I had purchased in the past. Very disappointed and cannot return because I missed the return window. Another warning August 13, 2017 The product now contains 50 micrograms of Vitamin K, which interferes with (slows) blood-clotting time (INR) of people like me on Warfarin. Same labels, different product altogether. Get the soft gels instead, IMO. February 28, 2017 I have been taking Nature Made Prenatal Multi + DHA soft gels. I have been very happy with it, and they were easy to take. Unfortunately they are rather pricey, so I was looking for an alternative and found Nature Made Prenatal Multi in the tablet form, which is this product that I'm reviewing. you would think that the products would be the same except for the DHA and that the product is now a tablet instead of a soft gel. This is NOT the case. They are NOTHING ALIKE even thought the label is almost identical!!!! For example, Soft gel: Vit A 50%, tablet 32%; B6 soft gel 104%, tablet 76%; Zinc soft gel 167%, tablet 73%. Basically, these products have a nearly identical label but they are NOTHING alike, not at all. I'm very surprised. Laxative, beware February 16, 2017 Terrible, one of the ingredients is a laxative, so only take if you want terrible stomach pain hard on stomach November 18, 2014 Not good for sensitive stomachs. Took a couple weeks worth and threw the rest out, these vitamins made me sick to my stomach and vomit even when taken with a meal. |
