Five Star Reviews: | 79% Super Semi Chisel chain - faster than a SawsAll August 24, 2016 I am very happy with these chains. They get twice the time between sharpening and they don't stretch as fast a others. They have more teeth and cut faster.. They last a long time compared to the chain specified for this saw. Installed on my Husqvarna E142 chainsaw and it works good. I recommend getting the Dremel chainsaw sharpening kit May 15, 2015 Installed on my Husqvarna E142 chainsaw and it works good. I recommend getting the Dremel chainsaw sharpening kit. This ensures you get maximum life from your chain. I fyou have used a chainsaw enough you know it is easy to dull the chain. So its either replaces chains on a regular basis, pay someone to sharpen them or do it yourself which will save you a good amount of cash. Great chain!!! February 23, 2015 Replaced the the original factory chain that came with my Craftsman chainsaw. This chain takes out bigger chucks and not saw dust like the one that was on it new. Plus hasn't kicked back on me once after over 2 hours of cutting. The key is to sharpen the chain at least ever tank of gas. I Ordered an Oregon 5/32- inch file from amazon and takes only 5 minutes to sharpen the chain after a couple minutes of practice. Great replacement blade December 5, 2012 Durable blade, cuts great! Got it as a replacement blade for a Poulan Pro 18" saw. Fits fine, made quick work of downed tree in my parents yard.Funny story - when I first put it on, it was not working; at all. Was spinning, but not cutting, throwing off sparks, etc. Got to thinking, "man, I got ripped off", and actually drove to Lowes to find another replacement. Was talking to the folks there, and they asked if I had it on correctly. I realized I didn't even check that; went back, turned it around, and it fit perfectly & cut just like it was supposed to. Guess I should use it more often :-)Final verdict - no complaints here! good product June 20, 2012 Fits my craftsman 18" well and has many more cutting blades than original. I would purchase it again in the future. Nice upgrade October 17, 2011 This chain was a nice upgrade to the original Poulan Pro chain that came with my chainsaw. It seems to spray out bigger chunks of sawdust, so not as much getting in chainsaw to clean up. | 60% nice June 22, 2017 This looked to be a good quality chain, but unfortunately we didn't get to use it as it was the wrong size for our saw. I think this chain is a good as Stihl's November 1, 2016 I think this chain is a good as Stihl's, at a much better price. It fits the Stihl 024 just fine. Stihl 029 still ripping November 9, 2015 Love the value that Oregon puts out with this line. The chain lasts in a variety of cutting environments. I'm cutting with a Stihl 029 - non-super. These saws run .325 so this fits perfect.Anyhow, I only cut about 5 cords a year +/-, so employed a couple of these lasts a while. I'm only in a year with my first L67 and it's held up well. The most damage has come from my beer infused freehand filing technique. Best Chain I have Ever Used April 11, 2014 My old chains had lived their lives, no longer enough left for sharpening. I ordered these. Wow! From cutting large diameter to clearing brush, this chain does it all effortlessly. I ordered two, one still in its box because the first one is still on my saw and cutting beautifully after 16 hours of clearing downed trees. I am honestly amazed. My saw is a FarmBoss, the chain fits perfectly and as I said, wears wonderfully. I will be ordering more!! Excellent seller as well, they were shipped immediately! Steel for a Stihl February 20, 2014 I go through about eight cords of oak and other hardwood a year with my Stihl MS290. I find Oregon chains last as long as the saw manufacturer's on brand, and far longer than other chains. I use a bench sharpener after about every four hours of cutting, more often if the wood is frozen or extra dirty (or I hit a rock), and the Oregon chains last a full season with enough material left to serve as backup. I've used Oregon chains for years and they are my first choice. |
Four Star Reviews: | 13% Cut me March 17, 2017 From what I can tell this will do the job for sure. Only problem I have is I haven't gotten around to putting on my tool. Fits my Craftmen saw fine. The first run was satisfactory June 3, 2016 Fits my Craftmen saw fine. The first run was satisfactory. I just need it to cut longer with less sharpening than the original chain. So it difficult to rate higher than a four... Sharp out the box and nice cuts in light use for early spring clean up cuts Good replacement for an OEM chain May 25, 2016 I needed to replace a dull chain in a hurry and this did as well as the original chain on my Poulan chainsaw. The price made it possible to get a second chain rather than be without the original while it was being sharpened. Great fit function for our chain saws. Reasonable price. Sometimes out of stock/hard to find at local big box stores May 6, 2016 Great fit function for our chain saws. Sometimes out of stock/hard to find at local big box stores or elsewhere. That was the case with us.Chains are highly specific to your chainsaw and drive gear. Be sure/very careful to check the application for your specific chain saw, in length, number of links, and cutter chain type. The hassle of chain sharpening, cost of shop fees to re-sharpen chains, compared to new chains is a toss up.We buy a few new chain sets to add to our small pool of used chains that we periodically sharpen en mass, and change them out as needed in the woods.Have read, but cannot confirm that the single chain packaged products are made in the USA, and the dual packs are made in China. Possibly others can jump in here with comments on that. NOT the same packaging February 23, 2016 but who cares right? as long as a chain saw chain is new and it cuts. with that said, in oregon cardboard box which was all but flat in the mailbox. no need to see anyone because no over-sized packaging and wasted plastic. | 15% no foul, but just be aware it didn't fit right ... August 4, 2015 This chain was about a 1/2" short for my 16" Stihl chainsaw. I actually had to drill a new hole in the blade so it would go back far enough to fit the chain. No harm, no foul, but just be aware it didn't fit right out of the box. Chain is sharp and good. good deal on good saw February 22, 2014 excellent company and saw. unfortunately i ordered the wrong size but a friend is quite happy with it. now he owes me! |
Three Star Reviews: | 3% Oregon chains are run of the mill June 7, 2017 Chain is okay. Oregon used to make a chain that would last a year of use, but now you're luckt to get 24 true hours of use. Good product if I received the right one. October 22, 2016 I ordered this product but instead received a D66 item number. That being said, it did not fit my chainsaw and I had to run around to stores looking for the right one I needed. Too bad I had ordered this as a back up so I could not return to amazon as I had not opened it until after the return date. Good product I'm sure but not able to do anything with this now. I gave this three stars because the product is as ... January 16, 2016 I gave this three stars because the product is as advertised and it should fit our chain saw but doesn't seem to want to slip on right. Not sure if it is a defective chain or a defective user. ... one they sent how do defect which made it useless. I returned it and the new one sent ... June 28, 2015 The first one they sent how do defect which made it useless. I returned it and the new one sent has worked just fine. | 6% I bought this chain for my chain saw. Unfortunately ... September 29, 2016 I bought this chain for my chain saw. Unfortunately, this is the third one I have bought that doesn't fit the groove in the chain saw arm. It didn't fit. I have a 16" Stihl, ... July 19, 2016 It didn't fit. I have a 16" Stihl, but there are more than one chain for them. I guess I didn't read enough of the description. saw chain December 27, 2012 it is what it is. this oregon chain is generally accepted as an acceptable stock replacement for any chain saw. Different Product Than Displayed October 10, 2011 Ordered chain saw chain as depicted in Oregon package and described as an L67. However, the chains I received were in a quite different Oregon package. They work well on my saw, however, the grinding wheel width required to sharpen on my Oregon chain shapener is different and the top plate angle is different. This required me to purchase a 3/16" wide grinding wheel ($20) versus the 1/8" required by the L67 chain pictured when ordered. If I order more chains in the future, I will insist on the item pictured. To receive something different is not acceptable. |
Two Star Reviews: | 1% Dullsville October 2, 2017 Went dull quickly, like fifteen minutes quickly. Did not hold up with the type of wood I had to cut (admittedly not the best). So now I have to figure out how to sharpen, or a waste of $14 Sharp edge short lived. July 30, 2017 Product did not hold edge, needing to be sharpened after only 10 minutes of use on one year old apple, appricot, maple and ash lumber. . . Didn't fit my Ryobi 18" chainsaw (it's about an inch ... July 10, 2017 Didn't fit my Ryobi 18" chainsaw (it's about an inch too short) despite being advertised as being same length and specification as my chainsaw's chain. Be careful when shopping for chains and be really certain that it is compatible! Honestly, did not trust it! February 20, 2016 I have a craftsman which came with 2 chains of very good quality and tough. But this replacement seemed too light, too thin....something was not right. I did not trust it. Maybe I got the wrong one? Well, I returned it and hopefully I will find an OEM. Will NOT NOT NOT fit Homelite Pro 18" March 14, 2014 After reading many rave reviews I purchased two of these. They may be awesome, but they won't fit a Homelite Pro 18" saw - no way no how. Chain saw April 19, 2013 This did not fit my 18 inch craftsman chain saw. It fell a link too short to use it on my chainsaw. | 4% Doesn't fit Stihl January 11, 2016 Don't waste your time trying to get this to actually fit your Stihl. Spend the money and go to a Stihl dealer and get the original equipment replacement. |
One Star Reviews: | 4% false ads. ordered Oregon brand, received a chain ... October 26, 2017 false ads. ordered Oregon brand, received a chain inside a broken plain box, no description, no brand name, no way to tell if it is used or new. return straight back. The Oregon S62 was recommended for my Homelite 46 cc 18" chain saw April 15, 2017 The Oregon S62 was recommended for my Homelite 46 cc 18" chain saw. The recommended chain did not fit. The photo shows that the code is the same, but the package no longer says "Homelite". Since I didn't change it right away, the return date expired by 1 week. Very disappointing. Will change my recommendation if Amazon allows me to exchange the chain. Opened new package. Found one of the chain links ... August 30, 2014 Opened new package. Found one of the chain links not entirely connected from factory. Can't return back to Amazon since I opened it after return expiration date passed. Out $15. | 15% I Don't hate it! - I ordered wrong chain - My ... September 24, 2017 I Don't hate it ! - I ordered wrong chain - My fault. DOESN'T FIT ALL 16 INCH STIHL SAWS June 26, 2016 This item does not fit all Stihl 16 inch chain saws. I tried to install it on my one year old M5211C Stihl chain saw and it does not fit. I am past the return date and now can not return the chain. It is still in the original package. If anyone wants the chain and lives on Oahu they can have the chain for free. ph 808-262-4469 Research before you order June 7, 2013 Five stars to the vender. He was perfect and not involved in this criticism and warning. This chain did not fit my Stihl 029 in spite of being listed that way.on both on the packaging and the description. I called the manufacturer for the correct chain and had to read the Stihl number on the bar. I was told to order a d60 chain. The description on Amazon shows that chain listed for other saw brands but the Oregon site lists it as an alternate chain for the 029. The bottom line is you need to check with Oregon for the correct chain for your bar. Didn't fit December 8, 2012 Said it fit Stihl 16" chain saw. Didn't fit mine. The guide the chain travels on was too thin for the chain to sit in. I have a Stihl MS 211C. Doesn't fit as advertized July 1, 2012 Does not fit my Stihl MS211 though it says it will. That would be an error on the manufacturer (Oregon). The seller won't take it back since I didn't open it within 30 days. (Shame on the seller). |
