Husqvarna quality

These chains can't be beat. They throw chips a long time. Have cut all types of wood with it and it stays sharp. Just make sure to keep oil in your oiler and you won't be disappointed.
Cuts stuff. Mostly wood items
December 9, 2016
This thing does exactly what it's meant for. It cuts right through sh!t. I had a bunch of limbs, cut right them. Sometimes you get on a terror and can't stop. I can advise that this will go right through a nightstand, which was frowned upon by my wife but wtf can you do. There is a door in my house that has been a bit lippy and i will let you know what happens.
and out of the package it was super sharp and pulled nicely through walnut
August 1, 2016
I sharpened my last chain, with a Dremel, and that seemed okay, but nothing beats a new chain. I've decided to stick with Husqvarna brand chains and oils and such for my relatively new Husqvarna saw, and this chain was the right price, delivered in 2 days with Amazon Prime, what more could I want? Put on the new chain over the weekend, and out of the package it was super sharp and pulled nicely through walnut. Love love love it. I'm trying to decide, really, if I should bother sharpening the chain more than a few times or just get a couple of these guys on hand and swap out when necessary - about $16 bucks for a new chain versus half an hour (probably less with some practice) sharpening my chain with the dremel... After 3 dozen cuts on 12-18 inch walnut logs, the teeth still feel very sharp.
Perfect fit and function
February 26, 2016
Perfect fit and function! My dad had been using the old, dull blade on his chainsaw and just running through oil on it. He said it was taking soooo long to cut down a a 4" diameter tree that he gave up on cutting trees and logs in the yard. I told him let me get a new chain and see the difference. Man, was he impressed. Definitely going to buy more of these as the chains wear out.
I'm not sure whether my husky or this chain deserves the five star rating but let's just say both of them
January 16, 2016
I have a pretty expensive still model chainsaw is well and I find myself going to the Husky so I'm not sure whether it's the chain or the Husky itself. Seems to hold a sharp thing very well. it's been doing extremely well on oak cedar and beachwood
Great Chain - Great Value
February 20, 2012
I used to use Oregon chains as my replacement chain. They are available at Farm and Fleet and on sale they were around $18.00. Now the price has gone up and on sale they are closer to $20. When I saw this chain at this price - I got a spare right away. It might be my imagination, but it seems like the Husqvarna chain stays sharper longer too. In any case, being able to get an actual Husqvarna chain for my Husqvarna saw at a good price, just seems right! As the other reviewer states - be sure that the chain will fit your saw. I have a 350 with a 16" bar - (narrow kerf, 0.050") and this is the right chain for that bar.

Great saw. Clutch cover removal issue solved.
September 19, 2017
Excellent seller. Bought two before hurricane. One did arrive with the box open and missing parts. I doubt it was originally shipped like that. However, Amazon and the seller and within 30 minutes I had an email with a solution from the seller! Great job. Husqvarna 440e was my first chainsaw. Youtube helped in assembly. Chainsaw works very well. Love a quality product. There was a learning curve, not just in operating the chainsaw, but in removing the "dust cover". Directions are weak. The cover is removed to install or swap out the chain. On the backside of the cover is a mechanism to "grab" the clutch. This is a safety mechanism for when/if it kicks back during operation. When engaged, it will grab the clutch ( on the saw body, and stops the chain from moving ) and it makes removing the cover impossible. So, if your prying and using a lot of effort to remove the cover, you just simply pull the safety bar back ( hear it click? - thats the sound of the clutch brake disengaging ), unscrew the nut holding the cover on, and the cover easily lifts off. I hope this helps.

Quality chainsaw for the price.
Great saw, great price, with a great track record
July 8, 2016
My father and grandfather both own Husqvarna chain saws. I now know why: easy start up, easy use, lighter in weight compared to others, and overall reliable. Are there better chain saws on the market... Yes. But for the price you pay, you can't beat Husqvarna. I do not cut professionally, just weekend projects and camping here and there. This thing is perfect
Husqvarna 440E chainsaw
January 29, 2013
This saw is definitely a cut above (pun intended) the average consumer-level chainsaw. Some describe the Husky 440E as a "prosumer" saw, and I think that's accurate. I recently felled and cut up four oak trees that ranged in diameter from 15 to 18 inches in diameter with my new 440, which is fitted with a 16-inch bar. Perhaps due to the narrow-kerf bar-and-chain combination, the saw made all of the cuts with no sign of laboring. It should easily handle the additional demands of an 18-inch narrow-kerf bar and chain, which I will be installing shortly.A few tips particular to this machine: First, the combined kill switch/choke lever must be pulled out before being flicked upward to the choke position. Though it appears to be rugged enough for normal usage, I'm not sure this plastic lever would withstand being forced into the choke position without being pulled out first.Second, this is a fairly high-compression engine. I strongly recommend, for safety, that the saw be held down on the ground by your foot through the handle to keep it under control when starting, rather than "drop starting" it.Third, a word about starting. I have read a number of reviews that groused about the 440E being difficult to start. I found these complaints unwarranted, but starting technique IS important. Here it is, in a nutshell: 1. Pull out the choke lever and flick it up to the CHOKE position. 2. Pump the transparent priming bulb 8 times - it should then be mostly full of fuel. 3. Pull (yank!) the starter cord two or three times, or until the engine "pops", or fires. 4. Flick the choke lever down to the "RUN" position. 5. Two or three pulls on the starter cord, and she'll usually fire right up.General tips: Order yourself a set of these, from Amazon: Timber Tuff TMB-08W 8-Inch Felling Wedge, Green, 2-Pack. These plastic wedges can be hammered into the cut to free a stuck chain (or, even better, to keep your saw from getting pinched in there.) Then, get this (search it on Amazon): Timber Jack Log Jack Tool by Woodchuck. This is the best quality, strongest, all-metal log jack I've ever seen! Will lift a 10-foot section of a 20-inch diameter tree with moderate effort, and suspend it off the ground. For about 84 bucks you can save your bar, chain, and back.

Good chain. Better than most I have used.
July 9, 2015
The first one I bought arrived bent off center so it kept slipping the bar. But they immediately replaced it and the new one is good. The chain is more durable than most I have used. It stays sharp, I would estimate, about 25% longer than others I have had. I have cut down and broken down about 40 mid sized (4-10" trunk diameter) buck thorn trees this summer. I am at the point now that the chain finally needs sharpening. The way I look at it is that you should see chains as disposable. You should get one or two good sharpenings out of them so it is that initial stage before sharpening that sets most chains apart. This one has cut down a lot of stuff over many hours and I am happy with how it has held up.
It's a saw chain
December 17, 2013
It's a brand name saw chain. It's shiny. It's made of metal. It's a saw chain. It is what it is, and it does what it's supposed to do.
Great chain; came in a crappy cardboard carton.
April 23, 2013
My only complaint is the package. The chain is pictured in a plastic container. The chains I bought are the correct item but came in card stock boxes. Card stock boxes get crushed and torn easily. That is perhaps not a problem when the purchased chain is placed on a saw right away and used. It does become a problem when the chain is carried as a spare. The plastic container is vastly superior for storage. Others have mentioned the plastic container is difficult to open. That is true, one does need a knife to open the package. However, I would much prefer to have to carefully cut the package open one time than have to deal with cardboard that is readily crushed and torn. That is my only reason for 4 stars and not 5. It is a good chain. If the picture illustrated a cardboard box I would have given 5 stars. As for the comments that the chain did not fit the 445; I have one of those as well as a 440e. This chain fits both of mine. . There are many chain specs that must match properly; not only the length but the number of drive links, the width of the slot the chain runs in and the pitch. When I buy chains I start with the catalog listing but then also verify the specs of the new chain match the specs that came listed with my saw.

July 16, 2015
Bought this for my father for Father's Day. And he says he loves it, cuts great. I was disappointed when he used it for the first time it died and was not able to restart. He took it to a local dealer and was told the coil in it was no good. Husqvarna repaired it at no cost to him. I am very pleased with the service and the product. They stood by their name
Very easy to start, lightweight, performs well.
August 5, 2014
Got this item shipped to Australia for under half of the local price and it only took a week to arrive. Out of the box started on the 4th pull and once it is warm starts first pull with the choke off. Have cut some decent sized Australian hardwoods with it 60+cm diameter cutting from both sides, without too much difficulty. My only complaint is that it can bog down under load when using the full bar in hardwood, but is it only a small saw so you can't expect everything.
Great saw
December 17, 2013
Very pleased with this saw. I bought it to replace a Homelite that wouldn't start when hot - ever. On initial inspection I was immediatey impressed with the motor in this thing. It looks like it came out of a motorcycle and was solid aluminum the good stuff, not the lightweight cheap looking motor in the Homelite. You really get what you pay for. The saw started right up and gave me no trouble at all. I've only dropped two trees so far for firewood yet while cutting it up into small pieces and in half again so it'd burn nicely I noticed it even sounded stronger than the Homelite. Definitely a pro-style saw worth considering even for a home owner. I appreciate the quality components and am glad I spent the little extra for this saw over a cheaper brand. Would buy again. The only reason I didn't give this saw 5 stars was because it does not come with a case. A case is available separately and definitely recommended. I was able to modify the old Homelite case to fit this saw with little fuss but it would have been nice to include a case with it.
So far so good
October 24, 2013
Box was well packaged and arrived in good order ahead of schedule all the way to Oz. The machine looked very clean.I had some problems initially starting it, but worked out the flywheel/ ignition module gap was not right. Perhaps it shifted during shipping. Once this was sorted the machine started ok and ran well for the first hour of use.Tested on a few 6 inch logs I had ready and it cut really well for a small saw. Tried a few larger logs up to about 12-16 inches and it performed quite well. Very little hand vibration, smooth cutting. It's very light. The plastic covers will perhaps require a little more care than my old saw.So far so good! Glad (lucky) I could sort initial problem out myself. Thanks Amazon for what looks to be a bargain.
Well worth the cost
July 7, 2013
I have only used it three times since I bought it. It starts very easy and most importantly to me idles perfectly right out of the box. I was a little apprehensive buying the 16" inch model as I was in the market for an 18" chainsaw. But I am very satisfied with the performance of this 16" size chainsaw. I was disappointed it did not come with a molded plastic carrying case. Other than that I am very happy with this purchase and recommend it for the do it yourself kind of guy.
Workhorse, but sometimes tricky to start
March 28, 2013
As this is my first chainsaw, I am trying to be extremely thorough in it's care and use.The first use of the saw, it was very easy to start and run. There was no issue with re-starting it, according to the instructions. The second use of the saw, it started as expected. However, warm starts are challenging. The saw gets cold so quickly that every start should be performed as a cold start, unless you stall it and immediately attempt to re-start it. Adding fuel / chain oil to the saw should be seen as a cold start. Warm starts are not as easy as cold starts, for some reason, and I had to pull 10-15x to get it to re-start after adding fuel. Make sure you research how to start this chainsaw properly, because it is very picky. There are some good resources online, and in Amazon reviews.UPDATE: After about a few weekends of heavy work, I have found that the saw is actually easier to start. You get really good at putting the choke in the starting position, pushing 6 times on the bulb, and yanking 1-2x until it revs briefly. Then, you put it back into Run position and pull 1-2x until it starts. It's been awesome! Can't wait to cut a cord or 2 for winter.I had a problem where I was cutting some large rounds (probably 24-36" in diameter) and the saw seemed to run out of chain oil. I'm not sure why, because I looked inside and there seemed to be plenty left. I filled up the chain oil again, and it seemed to work. The saw will leak a little oil when it is not in use. I found that the carrying case (box) was very convenient, because the oil just collects in the bottom, and I can just wipe it up occasionally. The chain was very easy to sharpen - I just picked up a chainsaw file from my local shop, and a handle for the file from my hardware store, reviewed an online video, and did it myself.I have not had any issues with cutting with this saw - it seems to have quite a bit of power, and is relatively miserly on the gas. I can run a couple of tanks of gas through it, and still have a reasonably sharp chain.

Not a very long life between sharpening
May 10, 2012
This chain works very well to break down limbs and small branches. It will last for many hours in this use. However, once you use it to cut up a few (3 or 4) 10-12" hardwood logs you'll find it dulling quite quickly. The saw definitely has the power to get through the wood but the blades just don't last. I think it's the technique used to sharpen them. It produces a hollow bevel thats pretty thin and dulled easily. If all you plan on doing is pruning small 3-4" branches this chain is perfect and will last hours and hours. Anything larger and it'll be up in smoke in no time flat.

I don't know who wrote the directions... I'd fire them. Text to small and confusing makes no sense. You can't even see the parts.Thank you utube. Not real crazy about the choke/on off switch. Not as powerful as I would have hoped for!
January 20, 2017
As a landowner with 30 acres of woods I was hoping that this would do a better job. I don't mind spending the money and using new chains versus trying to sharpen the old ones.My point is I almost always have a new chain on it. In this case it was a brand-new chain that has not been used. It did OK prior at cutting normal size trees but I had a pretty big tree fall, maybe about 14 inches and this has a 16 inch blade.Honestly I was very let down. It took me quite a while to chop this thing in half that had fallen across the road. When I say a while, maybe 3- 5minutes of working it.I'm sorry but that is way too long for a chainsaw. I don't know that much about trees whatever it was hardwood or not but I'm assuming it is. But still, it acted as if it had a dull chain and the motor kept binding down every time it started to get a little bit of meat. For trees 10inches and under it does really good but not too impressive on the bigger ones.

This works good but definitely need to put written instructions on how to start/ work for people who are new to tools. Also a written explanation of what the movable &/ or turnable gray plastic things are for/ how to use them. Maybe you need to be ultra strong to turn these. I'm a female, first time home buyer trying to do things on my own. Besides putting in the gas and oil- I was pretty much out of luck on instructions from what was provided in the manuals.

Does well when cutting but very difficult to start and keep running
May 5, 2016
Does well cutting but very difficult to start and keep running. I've read another review that explains how to get it started. That has helped but it still takes me a few minutes to get running. I have to continually run the saw so the engine doesn't die off. These problems were happening right out of the box. I really can't recommend this chainsaw.
PLEASE READ THIS
October 7, 2015
Having this saw for two years now, I feel that I can leave a review and gave it a fair chance. Not leaving a review after using it for a couple of weeks. With all the complaints about this saw, I have experienced 90% of them. You would think after a while Husqvarna would change the product to make it better, but by the reviews that hasn't happen. Which means this was my first and last purchase of a Husky product. I know that all the people that cut timber for a living use Stihl for a reason. Next spring this consumer will also have one. So here's a good story. This past spring after having another struggle with the Husky chainsaw we went to visit a relative out of state. We happen to show up the same time the landscape crew came to cut a tree down in his backyard. After 20 minutes I called the wife outside because I noticed that the man in the cherry picker was starting his Stihl on the first pull. His partner was on the ground pulling and pulling trying to get his Husky started. When he had to take a break with no luck. I asked him if he always had this issue. He told me that after 30 years curiosity got the best of him and thought of trying a Husky. "what a piece of crap". All I could say is "I KNOW"
Just follow the easy instruction label on the top (and keep a towel under during storage as it will leak oil)
July 2, 2015
I purchased this chain saw to cut down a few dead fruit trees in the yard. It has always started right up, just follow the easy instruction label on the top. I have used it a few dozen times and the only issue I seem to have is the chain will loosen up a bit after use. Maybe I didn't tighten it enough? So far it has worked well. Don't buy this if you are clearing a forest or cutting down big trees. This is a good urban backyard size.Update: 6-16-2016Just received my saw back from the repair shop. After only a half dozen uses totaling less than 1 hour of total usage, saw developed an oil leak. Saw would be sitting on the shelf in a puddle of bar oil after a short period. Repair bill was $90 or 1/3 of the price I paid for the saw. Revising my rating from 4 stars to 2Update: 9-4-2016Went out to the shed to get the chain saw and found it sitting in a puddle of oil again. Seems like there may be some sort of design flaw with the oiling system.
Leaks oil and doesn't oil the bar & chain. Local dealer says this is normal!!!
September 6, 2014
Purchased in Nov 2013. The saw has leaked oil since day one. Taken it to a local dealer multiple times. The dealer says this is normal!! How does the oil tank leaking out until it is empty overnight normal? And only getting 5-10 minutes of cutting time until the chain freezes up due to the saw not oiling the chain and bar normal?!?!!!! I am fed up with my only local dealer and will contact Amazon to see if they can help!!
Not so good.
August 12, 2014
My initial experience with the chain saw wasn't very good. First, the chain was so tight I was unable to move the chain with both hands. The knob used to loosen the bar cover to adjust the chain tension was so tight I had to buy a special wrench to fit the small holes in the knob to loosen it. After adjusting the chain, I could not get the saw to start. Nor could a buddy of mine. After paying $76.30 to my nearest Husqvarna dealer (Lee Hi Lawn Care), I've been able to start the saw. After about four hours of use, the saw does not run very well. This is the third chain saw I've owned and the worst and costliest of the lot. I believe the Stihl saw is a much better saw and less costly. I had a Husqvarna years ago and loved it. I made a mistake this time with this purchase.
Should have bought a Sthil..
July 10, 2013
I just kept hearing how great Husqvarna chainsaws and other equipment is. This thing came out of the box needing some major adjustments. The chain so tight it wouldn't budge. The "tool-less" chain tensioner was soo tight I had to beat it using a screw driver and hammer to get it to begin to move.. The star thumb screw was froze and we had to do the same to free it up to get it working.. after adjusting the chain, I then couldn't get the thing to start.. remove the spark plug and no spark.. .. The kill switch/choke had a clip that was shorting out the coil wire.. after a few tweaks with some pliers I got spark from the spark plug.. put it back together and she wouldn't start until I squeezed the throttle.. I found I have to grip the throttle for the thing to start.. It still won't idle for long before it stalls.. so I have to be constantly on the throttle to keep it running while working.. I'll be messing with the carb next hoping to solve that issue.. very disappointed in this saw.. on top of that, I found out my neighbor just bought a Husqvarna weed wacker and he says he doesn't like the way his engine performs either... he wishes he bought another brand now as well.. Seems like a quality control issue going on... what happened Husqvarna??

But his chainsaw in 2015 he seem to be a good deal and from everything I read easy to operate I bought it for emergencies since I live in Florida and there's always a chance of a hurry can I set it in my garage and it sat there until now well hurricane Irma happened I have a backyard with three down trees I take out my brand new chainsaw and put in a premixed gas that I also bought with the husqvarna brand and Husqvarna bar oil The seller will not start I have tried everything I looked online for all the YouTube videos I could find to see if I was doing something wrong followed every direction still nothing. Needless to say I am very disappointed and pissed there are a couple dealers in my area but because nobody has power and they're not open my advice to anyone like me who would buy a chainsaw for emergencies I said my advice to anyone like me who would buy a chainsaw for emergencies I suggest you crank it up as soon as you get it and make sure it works so you can return it if it doesn't I bought mine in 2015 so I'm sitting with a chainsaw And no warranty

I bought this machine in July of 2015 and I have experienced nothing but frustration. Right out of the box it has been hard to start and ran poorly. I took it in to have repaired and was told that it is a carburetor issue. After the repair it worked fine for multiple cuts but then began failing again when cutting and difficult to start. I would caution anyone on buying this product. I'm amazed that it has any good reviews. There must be a batch of "lemons" that some of us unfortunately received.
Avoid the headache and purchase a better chainsaw.

20+ Days of Ownership. I have owned other brands of chainsaws in the past. This chainsaw fails to hold chain tension, stalls for almost no reason, and after only 2 uses (after 2 trips to the shop for service) the engine seized.I am not a professional tree cutter and am only asking this product to cut through 6 to 8 inch trees. Avoid the headache and purchase a better chainsaw.
A Caution about Bailey's Power Equipment
September 29, 2014
I bought this chain saw over two hearts ago from Bailey's Power Equipment through Amazon. It is a model on which the chain adjustment is tool less.I noted when I received it that paint was chipped off some of the screws on the body of the saw and the it was also oily. I called Bailey's and told them that I thought I had received a rebuilt saw. They said they never sell anything but new. The saw came with the chain blades installed. It needed to be adjusted so I tried to use the tool less adjustment feature. I could not budge the the handle which loosens the bar for adjustment. It is made of plastic, so I didn't want to force it with a tool. I took it to a local authorized Husqvarna dealer. His service person said that it was way over-tight and that he had to use a tool to loosen it. After getting it loosened, while in the process of adjusting the chain he noticed that the chain was installed backward (not something that would occur at Husqvarna assembly plant.) I did use it a little last year. This past weekend I had a professional take down five tall trees for me. With help, I cut them up. The saw was very hard to start and to keep running after each stop. Gas is fresh and 89 octane with the pre-measured oil added to the one gallon can. I noticed that, when priming the saw, the bubble did not fill with gas. It was impossible to purge the air from the priming bubble. I'll take it back to the authorized dealer and have him repair it. My advice: Stay away from Bailey's Power Equipment. From what I have seen, I believe that they misrepresent their product and lie to their customers.
Piece of junk - does not start
July 28, 2014
Purchased this piece of junk in 2012 after the late June windstorm came through and dropped some trees. I chose this saw based on its claim of easy starting. Keep in mind that I've been using a chain saw for about 35 years, so I know chain saws. This is the HARDEST saw to start that I have ever laid my hands on. Follow the directions -- no start. Modify directions -- no start. Take it to the authorized dealer -- difficult to start by a big burly service guy. Get it back home -- difficult to start and keep running. Now, two years later, with fresh gas/oil mix, gapping the plug, cleaning the air filter, doing everything but standing on my head while trying to get this started -- no start. This piece of junk is not worth the electrons I'm using to write this review. I'm looking for a NON-Husqvarna, perhaps a Stihl. The 440e is junk.

Total ripoff. Go to Lowes and buy a gallon of the same oil for about the same price.
Too expensive

You can buy it from Lowe's for half the price. Only Lowe's carries it and was not able to find it at Home Depot.

This product works very well for intended use, but a quart is priced basically the same as a gallon, at Amazon.
