Call of Duty?

So much fun, reminds me of Call of Duty! I played lots of it, but I'm still not finished. Lots of levels, very action packed and thrilling. Excellent war game!!

2 Formats for the Price of 1!
December 19, 2013
Unit 13 is an AWESOME portable TPS. It's definitely worth the price tag with tons of replayability. Another plus is that the game came in TWO FORMATS. With the online pass voucher I got a digital copy and the online pass so in addition to the physical game card I also got the digital copy of the game to put on my memory card. This is an awesome set up. I don't even need the game card anymore!
If you like SOCOM Fireteam Bravo, You'll love this!!!

I was hoping that a SOCOM-type game would be out for the Vita and Unit 13 does not disappoint! The graphic are great for a hand-held platform, the game itself is a lot of fun. Their are a variety of mission types for every type of gamer; stealth, tactical, and run & gun. The only complaint I can think of is the limited weapons choices, as there are numerous weapon systems that I would love to see employed in this game. Aside fromm that small complaint, I think this is the best release for the Vita to date. It is fun, addictive, challenging, and an all around great game.

This is still one of the best vita games out there! It has amazing graphics and gameplay.. I can only imagine how I would've looked had the dev made this further into the vitas life cycle knowing more about the hardware and development tricks. Either way it's a great game.. It's selling sealed on ebay for $30+ and Amazon has it for $17.99 and free shipping with prime.. You can't beat it!
Decent Vita version with lots of content.
October 12, 2016
Decent Vita version with lots of content. Key game features include:Versatile gameplay for the Uncharted fan: Traditional (Dualstick Analog/button) or interactive (NGP features) allows players to choose the method that compliments their playing style.• Through utilizing the technology of the OLED screen, Uncharted: Golden Abyss delivers the signature Uncharted cinematic experience on-the-go.• Epic single player campaign that takes players through richly detailed realistic environments and undiscovered lands.• Experience the adventure of uniquely acrobatic Uncharted gameplay, optimized with PlayStation Vita controls• Touch, and tap the screen to swing, jump, and traverse non-continuous game sections, like crumbling bridges and river crossings• Rub the screen to take important imprints of in-game relics found• Utilize the motion-sensing controls of the PS Vita's internal gyroscope to balance Drake as he crosses slippery logs, and as an aiming method in shooting situations• Puzzle solve as you collect the relics hidden throughout the game
Holds up to the reputation of other games in the series.

Like most Uncharted games. A good story and a relatively relaxed play-through.This one uses some gimmicks for the PSP Vita, like making you swipe the front and rear screens for tasks at times and using the gyro to due balancing and even using the camera as a light sensor at times. These I find sometimes annoying. But it isn't terribly obtrusive to enjoying the game. The story isn't as good as Uncharted 2, which was my favorite, but it's still good. The voice acting, as usual, is excellent, and the fun factor is very high.I play it on the bus to work, about 20 minutes twice a day, and it's easy to put down and pick up, and the story is engaging. My bus trip is often over too soon now!
More Nathan Drake adventures? Count me in.

There are some very detailed walkthrough like reviews on here for this game, so I won't go into too much detail about the plot or the gameplay. Some of the touch screen elements are utilized well and make for fun gameplay even if they do get repetitive. Overall the gameplay feels like the previous iterations of the franchise although I think this game feels more like the Drakes Fortune than Drakes Deception. The voice acting is as great as always, the sound as well. Doesn't seem to have any new themes or overtures as far as music, and some of the distant backgrounds in the level design (particularly jungle levels) looks like a painted backdrop, I have no real gripes about this games and love It like all the other Uncharted games. This is definitely one of the best games I've played on a handheld device, certainly one of the best looking. If you are an Uncharted fan, you will wanna play this game.
This is it!

Let`s get my video game experience out of the way: I`ve owned every single portable video game console starting from the Gameboy. Have I played the most important portable games from The Legend of Zelda XD to Peace Walker? Absolutely. I`ve pretty much played every important portable video game title ever created. Now let`s talk about this jewel named "Uncharted: Golden Abyss."First of all, it`s said that Peace Walker is the most amazing portable game created, but it can`t compare to this one in terms of action, gameplay and almost everything else. This game feels like the real thing. It does not feel crippled in any way. There are some hiccups, but remember this a launch tile, where developers get to know the console potential. However, this title feels like no other portable. Is it the Vita? If yes, I don`t wanna think about future games in terms of graphics because Golden Abyss looks like heaven. The title is over 20 hours of story and over 100 hours to get all trophies including the ones in the game and the PSN`s ones. Besides it will take a lot of work to collect every treasure. I guess there are over two hundred objects to collect if I am not mistaken. The game is huge from every perspective that you want to see it: graphics, exploration, gameplay and story. Probably Sony knew that it needed something this big and good to keep early adopters happy. If you happen to own a Vita, just buy this game and get ready play the most amazing portable video game experience ever created. This game puts every other portable video game to shame and rightfully so. It should keep you happy while you wait for Call of Duty and AC which are going to be awesome because of the Vita`s incredible potential.
New to Uncharted games
June 15, 2012
I have never played a game in this franchise, until my purchase of this PS Vita title. I am not a big fan of action/adventure games, but found myself pleasantly surprised by how much fun this game was to play. I particularly enjoyed the black market, and the collecting of bounty items throughout the game. I like the ability to replay different chapters even before completing the game fully. I did find myself getting stuck a few times during shootouts, but I am not a big fan of shooter games (and have played very few action games) so this is a very minor issue- that is more likely a result of the genre of the game than any fault with the difficulty of the game itself.Overall, I would recommend this game.It has: -good graphics, -quite a few items to collect, -the ability to trade items with other players through the Near app with Black Market, -a good plot with solid historical background (even the items you find come with small descriptions/exposition on their historical significance/background, which was a very nice touch), -good character development, and -utilizes not only the joystick but also touch controls, as well as the back touch control of the PS Vita.

Kinda Socomey... in the good and bad way
July 23, 2017
Here's the thing... if you were into Socom back in the day, then you'll most likely kind of dig this game. Because it kind of reminds you of Socom 2 a bit... but then again, it reminds you of Socom 4... *shivers... vomits in mouth* sorry... yeah. It's one of those "things" but, any Socomer worth their salt will give this one a go, it's pretty solid for a mobile shooter, controls quite well (and i'm a PC guy these days) so that means a lot lol. Missions are well... mission based. You deploy into a fairly generic area and kill generic bad guys, good time waster during lunch... or when you're trying to pull one over on the old man for docking your overtime because he's a flaming _____! Yeah that's right Tom! I'm saving the world from terrorism, ON YOUR DIME SUCKER!

Not bad of a game
Overlooked Shooter of the Vita
November 15, 2015
This is a very fun, portable shooter game. It's premise and gameplay are nothing revolutionary but that doesn't mean its bad. The overall experience is very well tailored to playing on the go and most encounters and maps seem to consider the limitations of the platform so things don't become unfair. The one negative thing I can think of is that there are only around 6-8 levels with different objectives for each. If the levels had more areas or more diversity it would feel a little less stale halfway through the game.An overlooked and very fun game on Vita you can pick up for the price of a downloadable title.
a hidden gem
January 4, 2015
I originally bought this game to bolster my vita library it was cheap, and a genre I rather like, but I didn't expect much, saying that it was well worth the purchase. It is set up in a series of smallest scenarios (tailoring itself for mobile gamers) but has tigh controls, great graphics and is an excellent balance of first person shooting and mobile gaming. Its not quite call of duty, nor is it trying to be and that is a good thing.
Good Call Of Duty/Battlefield/Gears Of War Clone game But Entertaining Overall
December 7, 2013
A good TPS but overall nothing really too original about the game we haven't seen or done with previous games like COD/BF/GOW and other FPS/TPS games still at the end it does give the player what you bought the game for, and entertaining and fun time playing the game though the game play is obviously shorter then a console version would be.
Great PS Vita title
April 30, 2012
I like how this game (on most maps) allows for multiple ways to approach an objective. I can't remember if the old Socom FTB games were like this at all, I just remember that those old title seemed highly linear (though still enjoyable). I won't say it's fully open world; it's that each objective step usually allows for multiple ways of entry. You can also opt to go stealthy (which the game rewards) or going all in and killing everything in sight. There are no bonuses for the mid-way approach of neutralizing some targets and then later sparing others. If you have played those old Socom games, this title is like a further iteration of that series. It's good that the game allows people to customize how they want to play a bit, ranging from the characters with different specialties (one guy is the stealth guy, one guy is the all-out assault guy, another is the shotgun guy, etc). Plus you can switch from firing your weapon in third person or utilize a first person perspective just like in Battlefield or COD. There's a lot of replay value here b/c each of the characters is attached to a particular unlockable that opens up for all the other characters. For example, leveling up the stealth guy up to lvl 4 opens up the assault rifle suppressor for everybody else, etc. Plus there's the replay value of trying to get better times online, or mostly just focusing in on gathering stars to open up the High Value Target missions.Playing the game is...extremely addictive, esp. with those of us with OCD (lol, including yours truly). You will WANT to keep playing until you win the mission, which is what makes the game hard to put down. This is in part to some of the slightly broken mechanics, luckily the game is fun enough that most people will overlook the following shortcomings:1) There are certain enemy types (I like to refer to these guys as the "guys with the chambray shirts"), who will just straight up rush at you. It depends on how you are positioned with their line-of-sight, but anyhow, in most cases, they will recklessly rush you. The terrorists must be paying these guys and their families really, really well. The frustrating part comes if you're using a weapon that you either can hold down and fire full-auto or is otherwise relatively weak (mp5 is notably less powerful than in other games like COD4). They move around too quickly and then will insta-kill you in one shot as they flank around the corner, you being unable to quickly turn to attach them. There are even times when I'd have the drop on them, and they'd still manage to fire off a single round as whipped around the corner, ending my mission.Worse yet, even in yellow status (indicated they've know you're lurking around supposedly don't know where you are), they'll still make a beeline for your location. This ends up making them the bane of a couple CQB maps in this game.2) I've lost count, but it's worth noting that there's quite a bit of map recycling for different missions. There are a total of 36 missions, but I'm guessing off the bat there are only about 18 maps. But the maps are so different and well-done that it's not a dealbreaker. Some of the doors are locked, while open in other missions, and some maps might have you moving from point B to point A instead of the original point A to point B. Just mentioning this since this might irritate some.3) Some of the shooting from cover can get a bit wonky. There'd be times in fierce firefights where I sometimes couldn't pop out of cover to fire b/c I needed to scoot to the far extreme edge of the cover. Other times, I'd pop out of cover, only to find my reticle pointing uselessly into the edge the piece of cover I was hiding behind. I'd thus have to disengage clinging to cover in order to fire properly.4) Like other 3rd person shooters, the cover mechanic of being locked onto a particular piece can get ugly, as oftentimes the guys mentioned in (1) will rush you and being stuck to cover, certainly doesn't help to take them down. That pretty means they must be shot before they get too close, it takes too long to disengage cover and swing the knife when they are close. In a piece of laughable "suspension of disbelief", there'll be times where it looks like you're concealed, thought not sticking to cover, only to get discovered by the enemy, and conversely, there'll be times when you're in cover and your head or weapon barrel is blatantly sticking out, and the enemy still won't see you at all. The A.I. is serviceable though not very smart in that regard.5) The "High Value Target" missions don't have checkpoints. That's a design choice I understand, but there should've been an option to have checkpoints for these, as they tend to be the longer missions, and repeating them 3+ times over until completed seems like a big time waster (which is OK, I had fun).6) Like "Pursuit Force" on the PSP, the timed missions (a game type I absolutely hate b/c it usually involves rote trial-and-error practice to complete) have relatively tight time limits. Worse, even if you finish the objective, you still have to race to the finish line, which isn't always easy to find the first-time thru. Luckily, this mode does have checkpoints at each objective. I was so glad to finish these off first and out of the way. They can be exhilarating, but at least one of them I had to play 10x over b/c I kept screwing up. I think I was tired and should've quit while I was ahead.Anyhow, if I think of anything else to add, I'll edit this later. But this game is definitely a must-buy aside from the quibbles above.

As a Uncharted fan, this game hits the spot. Overall, it is very good and pretty long. Has all the familiar mechanics of the console version. You can tell it isn't a Naughty Dog game due to some minor bugs and occasionally annoying controls.

This is a must have game for the Vita. It takes 10 hours on Average to beat the game if you're playing on Normal. Also for those wondering if there is Multiplayer, there is no Multiplayer so its Single Player only. The game might not be as good as the first 3 but its still a top notch Uncharted game. The game does have an Uncharted: Drake's Fortune feel to it. Like i said this is a must have game for the Vita.
Gorgeous graphics and a sexy main character.

Really fun game with beautiful graphics. I used to have a Gameboy and loved the James Bond games, and this game kind of reminds me of them. I'm a chick who doesn't usually like games with guns and violence, I'm more of a Little Big Planet kind of gal. But this is really fun.
The Reason to own a PS Vita.
January 6, 2013
I bought this game when the Vita launched in the US back in Feb 2012.Graphics: The graphics in the game are the best for a handheld. The game looks about as good as the original Uncharted on ps3. Textures are clear and the character models and animation are top notch.Gameplay: Golden Abyss is a standard 3rd person action game. You jump, shoot and solve puzzles. The game also adds Vita specific functions like touchscreen use and motion control.Story: The story is a typical Nathan Drake adventure. I found the story to be weaker then the Uncharted's on PS3 but its not terrible by any means.Length/Extras: With 34 chapters and trophy support there is plenty to do in the game. I beat the game on normal in about 7-8 hours.Uncharted Golden Abyss is the best reason to own a Vita.
Review perspective from someone new to both the Uncharted franchise and the Vita
June 12, 2012
As a little background, I have not owned a portable gaming console since the original gameboy. I do heavily game on home consoles though (mostly PS3). I have also never played any of the Uncharted series (I hope to pick up the PS3 Uncharted's soon). For those completely unfamiliar with this game or the Uncharted series, think of these as the quintessential Indiana Jones video game experience. You have action, humor, exploration, and more. Your gametime will be split between: exploration (although very linear most of the time), shooting bad guys, light puzzle solving (if you are looking for Portal 2 or Braid type puzzles look elsewhere), and witty dialogue. The game is divided up into Chapters, but the chapters transition seamlessly to one another (for example, you may be running down a path and on screen it will tell you that are you starting a new chapter)The game in my opinion is quite a technical feat. It is absolutely gorgeous. Unfortunately, in my opinion, the gameplay never really quite matches the technical wondery of the game and the use of the Vita's touch functions is a little heavy handed. Here is a summary of my thoughts on the game:The Good:- Amazing graphics on a handheld. Seriously, this game floored me with its visuals- The dialogue is humorous (It is my understanding that general opinion is that the PS3 Uncharteds have better stories though)- Decent variety of gameplay. Controls well. (note: dont forget, physically moving the vita moves your aiming reticle when you are in shooting mode! I forgot that and was wondering why my reticle was moving all over the place)- Some touch screen controls implemented well, such as throwing grenadesThe Bad:- Way too much forced use of the Vita's functions. Balancing on a log every single time you cross one is annoying (the way it is scripted...would have been better if it happened more "naturally"). Having to "wipe" artifacts clean of dirt is tremendously annoying and is just busy work. Etc.- I personally found the climbing sections to be dreadfully boringThe Ugly:- There is a part of the game where to read a hidden message on a piece of paper you literally have to hold your vita up to a very bright light (I had to hold it inches away from a lamp bulb). This is forced and you can't avoid it. Why is it bad? Because I, and potentially many other people, play my vita mostly in bed before I go to sleep!! I didnt want to wake my wife up so I had to get out of bed and go to a different room to turn the lights on. Imagine being on a red-eye airplane flight and having to turn on the lights to play, etc. Conclusion:A solid B+ (rounded to 4 stars) Vita game that is sometimes a little too focused on silly touch implementations. I would recommend it to most.

I like shooters , just recently I got into shooters and now I love them . At first I thought this game was going to have a story mode but it actually does not have a story mode instead you get a bunch of missions you can do and clear them to move on to the next mission and you can choose from different characters . SO there is no story mode but a bunch of mission . Game play is fun and . its an ok game .

Game is most of the time way too hard and doesn't let you chose difficulty level. The character is extremely slow to town around 180, and worse of all once your enemy come very close to attack, it's almost impossible to see where he is and to aim at him.The game could have used some fun sniper mission. And lame of the lame, once you complete the 10 first mission, the 30 left are just variations of the first 10 and in the exact decor / rooms.Unless like I did you got it for less than 8 bucks do not buy it, it really sucks.

great game... if it actually worked with the vita!
March 10, 2012
I downloaded the demo, and was also excited for the game to come out because it seemed awesome. However, not even an hour into playing this game, it decided to freeze my vita forcing a hard restart. The first tell tale sign was when the sound suddenly stopped. The second was when it froze on a black screen right after i completed a mission or tried to go to the games menu screen. The third and final sign was the busy screen I was brought to when i tried to restart my system. This forced me to have to hold the power button down for about 30 seconds until the reboot menu came up. The gameplay is really great, but its hard to get into the game when you have to restart your system anytime you want to play. There have been many other people that have had this issue, so don't believe the reviews of these other jokers. Zipper Interactive needs to step up and get a patch already! Otherwise this is going to turn into another failed game by them..

June 11, 2015
I honestly bought a Vita for this game. I love Uncharted 1&2 (3 sucks) and I was hoping the Vita version would be just as good. I found it a let down compared to the first two games in the series. Sure, it had it's good moments. Nate's as awesome as ever. But the storyline was like that of Uncharted 3 - boring and it didn't drag you in like the first two. With the first two, they were so interesting I would play for hours without noticing how much time had gone by. With this one, it was more like 'I'm bored with everything else, might as well play this for a bit.' While it does have some interesting new things for the Vita, like charcoal rubbings and picture puzzles, overall I found it a let down.
Touch screen is not very accurate
August 14, 2013
The storyline is very good and the graphics are exceptional for a portable gaming system. However, I found the touch screen sensitive parts of the game to be inaccurate. I realize that this is new technology, but they still have a ways to go before it is considered perfected.
Vita Advertisment? (Game Breaking Glitch!!)
January 21, 2013
Edit: Game Breaking Glitch. Reduced my review from 3 to 2 stars. I wanted to go through the game again to try to find more of the collectibles, but because I've already finished the plot collectibles the game wont have me pick them up again, which mean I simply get stuck where I'm standing unable to progress any further. I then have to kill myself, reload, and it will sometimes, let me progress to the next collecable i can't pick up. This happened in the first Chapter!Original review Below:The games not bad, and if i hadn't played the PS3 versions I would probably be nicer. That said, the game feels like a very expensive vita advertisement. The story is OK, nothing special, but does the trick and keeps the game going forward. The problem is all the writing and game play stuff feels like its simply implemented to make sure the Vita new Tech is being used. The end result is a ton of mini games that make what I consider on the PS3 to be a nice mature game, to be dumbed down to quicktime events and little kid puzzles. The Good:*Graphics look really nice.*Voice acting is as good as always*The jumping/climbing fun that is expected is there.Bad:*Vita specific mini games that take you out of the game all the time.*Difficulty Spikes that feel like sloppy planning rather then a challenge.*No real boss fights, and the only two fights that exist are Quicktime events!!!*Rope climbing is designed to use the vita touch back screen but it's wonky, so they also put in normal button as well. end result you just go up and down on the rope for a while. The Blah:*Puzzles: which are more like rub this or line this picture up so it looks nice. Not horrible for a few of them, but you do it for the whole game. it gets a bit repetitive.* The story, if drake and Sulli weren't in the game, I wouldn't have cared for any of them.*The Camera during the climbing parts is stiff, where's the "Oh S***" parts that the PS3 counter parts have. Conclusion:because the Vita is currently lacking in games its worth it for about 20 or so. I do want to conclude that it's fun to see what the Vita can physically do, i just wish it wasn't forced upon you, but rather the natural choice. Heavy Rain a quicktime only game feels right because each action that you do seems like a form of what the characters are actual doing on screen, but these quicktime events feel more like 'look what the vita can do,' rather then having any real purpose.

Would-be fun game. Crashes your Vita
March 23, 2012
The Gameplay is quite fun, controls are good. I really enjoyed the demo. However, much like another user mentioned, it crashes my Vita every time I play it. It's been sitting in its case since I bought it, I don't feel like corrupting the file system of my Vita.Lots of other users have experienced the same thing: [...]Was hoping a fix would be issued to fix this, but it's been over 2 weeks now, and nothing. Official word from the developer is "we're looking into it". That's not good enough for me, so I'm returning it for being defective.Don't bother trying to contact Sony either. Their service desk ignored the evidence of multiple users having the same issue, and provided me a bunch of troubleshooting steps for the Vita, with the final step being return my Vita to them for repair. When multiple people are experiencing the same issue, it points at either 1) hardware defect on the Vita or 2) software defect with the game. Since no other games have crashed my Vita, it's pretty Fing apparent that it's the game. Way to ignore basic evidence, morons.

October 12, 2016
