Great game but...
May 10, 2017
You're better off buying the digital version for way less and with the online pass because the online code that comes with it will be expired.Game cost $3.99 on the PS store and $9.99 for the online pass.Just a heads up.Game is the same as the PS3 version. No complaints there.

One of the highest quality Vita games
November 19, 2016
IF you have either played the PS3 version or if you like super smash bros then this game is perfect. Controls are responsive. The visuals are great. This is a must own for Vita owners. I wish there was a lot more quality games like this on the Vita.
5 Stars, Hands Down!!!
January 18, 2014
First off...if you have a Vita, you MUST buy this game. This definitely is the Super Smash of Playstation. All of the game modes on this game are epic!!! I like ranking my favorite characters up, its fun to unlock items, costumes, pictures, intros. I would 100% recommend this game to anyone. You can play for hours. I like using different characters in solo mode. (Only 2 cons...)Cons: 1. The ranked matches take long to find opponents, the unranked...you can find opponents. But when you do, people have their players ranked at "999" and "121"...really??? I would have liked more even (close in rank) game match up.2. The camera zooms out too far (online, 4 players) and its not easy to recognize where you are sometimes. Along with some stages, the background colors and graphics may make it hard for you to identify yourself when in a match with 3 or more players (in general). This is my first game for my Vita, & I love this game. I did my homework on it and am just happy with my purchase.
Playstation's Version of Super Smash Bros---but Better!!
November 25, 2012
Concept-wise, Playstation All-Stars Battle Royale is exactly like Super Smash Bros, but the similarities in my opinion, end there. In fact, I have to say, I like PSASBR a lot better than Super Smash (and I LOVED all 3 Super Smash games.)First, I really like that there are no cheap-shot kills and that you can't just pummel someone until you're ready to do a flashy finish with an item or Smash Ball. I also like that you have to be more strategic in how you use/place your supers. You can't just shoot, plant or use them anywhere. This is especially true for a couple of Level 1 Supers (Nathan Drake, Nariko)Hazards play a significant role on every stage, which I think makes the game more fun. Super Smash always had a few stages that had hazards, but not every stage. The online multiplayer is pretty fun. The only bad part about it is that it at times is either incredibly slow or disconnects The screen can also become a little cluttered when everyone is knocking everybody around, but it's no worse than Super Smash with multiple item drops. I actually think it's cleaner because you don't have any instant kill items or poke balls. Oh, and when there are item drops, the only way to pick them up is by touchscreen. Not exactly the best way to use it in my opinion, but oh well. I also really liked that they gave each character a little background story in arcade mode before and after they finished their ladderI would definitely recommend this game if you're a fan of the genre. Even if you're not, give it a try anyway, you won't regret it It's a blast and an excellent title for the Vita!

EXCELLENT DESCRPTION! EXCELLENT SELLER!!
Unsurprisingly This Game is Awesome! Great game with nice graphics. :) 12/10
June 27, 2016
Loved the game. The graphics are really great especially for a PS Vita game. The control are really easy to figure out and handle. The game it's self really brings back memories of need for speed underground 1 & 2 and other need for speed games. Very nostalgic and a bonus that you can play online with others very easily. It's super fun and exciting. If your thinking or hesitant on getting this game, no worries it's really a awesome game. I Would totally recommend getting it. :D
Worth the money.
January 14, 2016
I like the series but I think the older ones were better. I don't know if it's me getting older though but it is still a very fun game to play. The different modes are great because this way you can switch between them and don't get tired. I personally like to try great escapes and share my replays, they are the most fun.
Great game, really exciting

Great game, really exciting, the graphics are not stunning but still beyond expectation. Controls are smooth, the game fits on the psv perfectly without glitches. Very challenging though, it will teach you serious lesions about using te brakes!
"Loud Powerful Sports Cars "
October 23, 2014
I can't even speak right now. I can't brag enough on this game. I was so blown away of how the reflection of the sun and rich detailed visuals seem to pop right out of the screen at you. Roar pass the cops going 160MPH in loud powerful sports cars. Give them a run for their money, and lead them into traps, then leave them 1 mile behind. Go into a dark alley cut off the engine and lights while the back tires smoke, and watch the cops blow right pass you like fools as you hide in the shadows letting your heat level cool down. Seconds latter the heat meter lowers then you've evaded the cops. The only thing left to say is just buy the game. It's fun and very addicting.
5 Stars from a non need for speed fan
August 23, 2014
Wow! I gotta say, Ive owned plenty of need for speed games since the PS1 days. But Ive never been a huge fan.To be honest, the best driving game I ever played to date has been Blur because of the speed, challenges, and all the other non driving elements it added to the experience (shunting someone into oblivion at top speed to take 1st place!! LOVE IT)This game offers the same excitement! So many challenges! Super fast speeds! Racing! Evading Police! Open world!EA did a great job with this game. The only thing to mention is it is harder to see some things on the small vita screen (upcoming traffic, OSD, etc..)The graphics arent as polished as the PS3 version either, but they did a great job of not leaving anything out of this version. Also, the game is not cross save. So your game is independent from the PS3 version if you own that as well. No pick up and play where you left off. Kinda sucks since they packed everything in the vita model to make the game virtually the same as the ps3 version aside from the graphics.I highly recommend this game!

The game is fun. It's not quite Smash Brothers
March 6, 2015
I bought this game on sale for $5, and I might even pay the current price for it ($13) if I had to. The game is fun. It's not quite Smash Brothers, but it's a lot of fun. It can get a litttle repetitive if you play it for long lengths of time, but it is fun for a quick few matches here and there. My only complaint is that playing single player mode has a HUGE curve between the difficulties. Going up a difficulty goes from the game being too easy to having difficulty winning matches (or even having much fun)
Great fighting game with a lot of depth
December 20, 2013
Much better than I expected. I bought it to play for playing against friends, but was pleasantly surprised how fun it is to play solo. A lot of interesting characters from various franchises, and they carry the "special moves" from the original games. Interesting power ups and environmental hazards that spice up the game.Control scheme is actually well thought out, not the arcade remapping.Small downside: expensive to purchase DLC for additional characters; online mode is somewhat slow.Overall, highly recommend for Vita.Overall,
Stands on its own and worth a play if you enjoy similar titles
December 13, 2013
many people will draw similarities to Smash Bros and dismiss this game as a copy. Really this game is great and can stand on its own. It has a different fighting system then SB and has its own positives and negatives. The knockouts are done by hitting a enemy with a special attack that is charged up by hitting the opponent with regular moves. The special attack has 3 levels that change the attack type, range, and duration, missing this attack means you feel like the work you did was a waste though.
Good Combo Of Super Smash Mario And Street Fighter
December 7, 2013
Other then a exclusive playstation character lineup it's pretty much a clone of street fighter and smash brothers and if you can overlook that you'll be surprisingly entertained at the gameplay itself. There's really nothing extremely spectacular about it just what you saw with the trailers and demos but it's a good way to pass the time on a hand held system if you're traveling or waiting for a prolonged time somewhere.
Kill some time...or Sackboy
January 2, 2013
I give this game 4 stars, as I feel the only thing holding it back is when you get four characters on the screen, it's rather difficult to tell what's going on, based on the size of the PSVita screen, however as long as you know the key combinations, it flows rather smooth. The overall abundance of unlocks makes this game fun and makes me want to try and play it with every character and on ever level. I haven't taken my game online yet, however I can speak to it from Beta, it was fun, once I perfect my skills a bit more, I'll take the game online.Overall an enjoyable experience with quite a bit of replay value. I look forward to potential add-ons that may come out for this game, even if they don't, the game still plays well.

December 10, 2014

This game surprisingly won me over (former NFS and Burnout hater)
February 13, 2014
Typically, I absolutely hate arcade racing games. 99% of the NFS series is trash to me. Burnout is even worse. In my opinion those games are super repetitive, boring, and have some of the lamest gameplay in the racing genre. I only got this game, because I figured it might be ok on the Vita. I was right. It is a fun game on the go. It's basically the exact same game as the PS3 version (with weaker graphics, and less traffic) which is pretty impressive. It's not the best looking Vita game but considering the open world, it's really good for what it is.It's challenging, and fun to play. There's a lot of great cars to unlock so playing it is indeed rewarding. It's the only NFS game I've liked since NFS 1 Road and Track edition lol
its good for a port to a portable

hey cool it's need for speed most wanted 2012.I played the need for speed underground games so I was hoping for some customizing in the game. You can't customized the look of the vehicle.vehicle graphics look good and backgrounds or good to okay.you can improve your vehicles performance with upgrades.some of the cars can be clumsy and are out of control at high speeds.there is a lot of vehicles and a lot of races.beating everyone on your most wanted list you get the credit roll.(beat the game)expect a lot of intensional crashes accidents.

It's not as good as Smash Brothers
April 1, 2015
It's not as good as Smash Brothers, but I don't think it ever was meant to be. If you want to have some Smash action but don't own a Nintendo device, or you want to play Smash with your favorite Sony characters; especially if you don't want to spend a whole lot on it, this game is fine for you. For someone who's expecting the same experience as Smash, you're not going to get it. For the 5$ I paid, I'm not upset. I would probably be upset if I spent more than 10$, however.
Was expecting Smash Brothers gameplay
December 24, 2013
I am a fan of Smash Brothers, but a bigger fan of sony over nintendo. I thought this would like a total replica or if almost the same as Nintendos Super Smash. I liked the idea of the Percentage Damage scale over All Stars, hit or miss with built up specials. This game I think overall is "okay". I like the moves and characters it has, but the battle system, i believe, i not so great compared to smash brothers. You can't really have fun picking on people with like 100-300% damage like you do in Smash, but instead you just build up enough power to perform a special to get a kill. There's no falling off the map or flying off the screen kills. Its basically almost like, first to build your special wins. Almost like a Street Fighter game. "This isn't Smash Brothers. If you want Smash Brothers, go buy Smash Brothers" is what you'd probably respond if you are a hardcore Playstation fan, but yes, i was expecting too much from this game. I was actually expecting a complete duplicate of Smash Brothers Battle System for the Playstation. I think a lot of people were. I'm not saying the game is bad, I am playing this occasionally just not as much as I had hoped. I'll be waiting for Smash Brothers for the 3DS and I'll probably disregard this game when that comes out.
Smash Bros.? No, but still fun..
October 5, 2013
Now im strictly a Playstation kind of guy. I dont hate Nintendo or Microsoft. But ive had Playstation my entire life besides the GameBoy i bought while Pokemon was still "cool". But, ive played other peoples consoles and Super Smash Bros on GameCube was an awesome game, especially at parties where all four players were actual people duking it out instead of the A.I. Great game. So i heard a similar game would be coming to PS, well its only natural i give it a go...Now, ive got to say, it LOOKS like Smash Bros..but its not...Theres all your favorites exclusive characters, Big Daddy, Nathan Drake, Heihachi Mishima, Raiden(from MGS not Mortal Kombat) among others. But the moves are..i dont know..to simple? Combos are a joke.. I like the "Special" move. Especially Big Daddys LV.3 (huge Bioshock fan) but it sucks that this is the only way to get kills. The ladder gets repetitive. And the final boss is so crappy. I dont want to dissuade you from buying this game but its not very likely to have a high replay value. The thing that does stand out is that when you play online with actual people. It completely changes the feel. You can play online for hours and not realize it.And not to mention. Remote Play!! You can fight your buddies that are on your PS3 while you use your Vita. Perfect.Character level ups dont do much.. I have a level 60 Big Daddy..still the same old Big Daddy to me..Its a good game, maybe rent it before you buy it to see if its one for your collection.

Best racing game for the Vita
March 5, 2015
I have owned this game on the PS3 as well and it's great to own it at the palm of your hands. The graphics are a bit downgraded from the Playstation 3 version, but it still looks great for a handheld console. Only downside that it's not a cross-save...I don't like the fact that everything is unlocked from the get-go, instead of unlocking cars as you progress. Also, there's no actual story, only 10 "most wanted" cars that you have to beat in order to get their cars. But, there's a lot to do - smash gates, smashing billboards, collecting cars and going through speed cameras. Finding all of the cars can consume some time as well. The car list is a bit lacking, having about a third in the quantity as opposed to NFS Hot Pursuit, for example. The multiplayer is nice but suffers from frequent disconnections from the EA servers.Overall, if you like racing games and you're looking for one for the Vita - This should be your choice. The game is very enjoyable, with or without friends.
4 stars for bringing this game back!
February 11, 2013
Overall this is great game to play!As you check out all the cars and try to win all the challenges, you earn speed points and more speed points to win all the cars. Cops chase you and some are quite challenging as well. Here's my pros and cons for this game.Pros:*All the best cars in the world today and the past plus more!*Cool videos once you unlock challenges and finish the game*Makes you wanna come back to see if you complete the car fully tuned up and what it can do*Network play! And not just your fellow neighbor...all over the world who has this game!Cons:*No decals or anything to customize the cars except the colors which you get from going to garages*Very basic storyline. You come into the city. You win cars from races. That's about it. One thing that kept me going back in the first game (the original Most Wanted) was the cool play out of the story. In fact, all the storylines from this franchise. What happened here, EA Sports? This soon becomes a game of numbers wherein your task is to hit 100%. It's different when you hit 100% and everyone asks you what you did find out about the story. It's welcome to see this game back but after you win all the cars..it kinda leaves you wanting more from this game.Updated last March 11, 2013:I've downgraded this review to only 3 stars as although EA has released 3 different DLC packs including the Legends and other free stuff in the game it is ONLY available for the PS3 owners and not yet for the PS Vita. There has been feedback requesting for it but all that Electronic Arts has said is to wait for the exciting news. Unless the company makes this available for this platform, I'm sticking to my 3 star updated review.
Great game!
December 30, 2012
I like that they've literally port over the console version, but I wish they've adjusted it more to fit the Vita screen. The game is fun, and I enjoy the graphics, but I found that after playing for a good 10 mins or more my eyes will strain. It is mostly because of the bad environment textures. The car models are really nice, but this game still feels like it's lacking.

October 2, 2013
Probably wouldn't recommend this to others. The game is awesome and love it for the Playstation 3 . But I would not recommend this on the PS Vita. It is very hard to control, the players are very small, and when the action begins, you lose track of your character since their just flying all over the place.Controlling is the most important part of this game and you don't have much of it. I love the game for the PS3 but not for the Vita

November 19, 2013
It's fun to play on short trips on the subway but other than that it gets really repetitive. And the car customization is practically missing. It forces you to play with every car, which is really annoying. Another Annoying thing is trying to find all the cars around the city. on the positive side it does look really good.
Not Burnout
October 2, 2013
This game was billed as the "spiritual successor" to the Burnout series. I can't speak to its value as a NFS game, but as a Burnout Game, it fails. It just seems so much slower, and the cars handle so much clunkier. There are maybe two or three that are manageable, but most of them are just a chore to drive. If you had Burnout for PSP and liked it, chances are you are not going to like this. Burnout on PSP was so fast paced and chaotic, you couldn't help but have fun. This game is the opposite. You can wander around the entire open world looking for fun, but all you will find is another cop or yet another poorly handling car.If boring gameplay is the price we must pay for an open world on a portable device, then close my world, please. Burnout Paradise (PS3) and Burnout Legends (PSP) are both far superior to this game. I hope the NFS fans are at least getting enjoyment out of it.
A boring arcade race, not as good as the first most wanted
April 25, 2013
There is a total lack Of story here, there is none. This is just a super fancy (not even that fancy) arcade racing game. Lots of cars to drive, no customization though. You find a Red Dodge charger with a black strip down the middle, all you can do is change the color of it, white/black, yellow/black and so on, will always have stripe and same body kit. Deffenitly avoide this game.
Direct Port = Too Much 4 Vita Screen
January 1, 2013
Hey Buyer,Huff here, listen up. Need for Speed: Most Wanted is a game best played on an actual system. I have a PC-copy of this game and decided to get the Vita-version for whenever i am on the go. I have to say, disappointed; two thing sealed the deal and had me put this game away forever...The Controls: though smooth in steering the fact that i am unable to control the amount of acceleration i apply to my auto annoys me very much. you press the 'R' button and its pretty much open throttle from there.Screen Size: boy this kills the game for me. like all the other user have pointed out. EA/Critreon directly port the game from its big consle cousin. you do not miss out on anything excpet the fact your screen size has been crippled a billion fold. picking out regular traffic from the competitors as you race is a major set back. but not only that, there are times you cannot tell the road from a wall :o( OUCH... will make your game extreme tough to play.Buyer, if you are a person that has been playing via big console or PC? do not use ur hard earned cash for this version. We have been spoiled by alot of pretty visuals and gaphics processing. to try and jump from that to Vita version will mostly fustrate you as suppose to extended the fun.On the plus, the game is fun. the game has been directly port so this means they did not cut back on any of the activities that were done on the console-versions. If you are not an individual that had been playing a console-version there is possibly a glimmer of hope for u in regards to enjoying the Vita version. however, if you are coming from the Xbox360/PS3/or PC version there is a 90% chance you will dislike and regret this purchase.Anyway, thanks for reading and i hope this will give even more perspective about this product.
Average, with a lot of design UI flaws
December 14, 2012
I look for a few things in racing games so that they are playable for a long time. NFS for vita does not have them. I've played most of the franchise all the way from some of the original first games.- restarting/retrying a race is cumbersome, you can not do it from the end of a race (you get thrown straight into free roam), the option is in the menu(s) (depending on which menu you use. If during a race and you restart it still requires a fair amount of time to load the race up again, where you also have to skip the 15/30 second artsy cutscene. It works but certainly is not as fast/fluid as it could be.-Racing against most wanted cars, they turn out to be the easier races, but also the cars are white, which ironically is the most common color of traffic cars. As a result on a screen of this size it is really easy to id a white car, ram it only to realize milliseconds before impact you are ramming a pedestrian (and as a result cut into a crash cutscene).- AI in general is nothing special, I am fairly sure they do that annoying thing all racing games do, never too far behind you, regardless of how perfect your run is.-I run the game in airplane mode, I'm not into the online score stuff (sorry I have no friends...). So maybe I'm missing something but after a race I do not clearly see my current time in comparison to my previous time. There is no sense of individual improvement. The replay value of racing games for me was racing a course only to improve my own time over and over.-UI is not clear what I'm racing for (like a goal time, or what my place is). I would think they ought to align or place these in better locations on the screen, half of the notifications must work great on a desktop or 1080p screen but here some of notifications are just so small you can barely read them (the notifications that 'link' to the car's taillights). On top of this notification displays of a take out and etc. take over so much of the screen... sometimes you just can't see the horizon.- I thought I'd be okay with less cars on the raod, as many people have reported the traffic is very little in this game (typically 4 or less cars aside from you and other racers), but I am not. I'd far rather have MORE cars then better graphics. Drop the graphics give me more of a race through traffic.- this does not impact gameplay, but the cutscene videos are just totally random. Some have just crazy psychedelic filters and others are just ridiculous spinning camera scenes. I'm sure someone worked very hard to make EACH race have it's own 'original' video, but frankly, I don't want the system to have to load a video and as a result take even longer to get me to play the game. Feels like a rush of effort on their part. The graphics are nice, but NOT OMG cool. The driving is okay, but the world is kinda meh and dull. I'll continue playing this, but overall I think it feels like a lot of leftovers from the other products, and too much attention was focused on the wrong things. Simple reconsiderations for the device this was being made for would have dramatically improved the gameplay.

Being a casual/professional player that knows the difference between a good and a fun game, I can say that this game barely passes the mark as being playable. The controls are blocky and none of the character's movesets are properly balanced. The amount of fun you'll get reading this is the same amount of fun you'd have playing Frogger using only your feet. And don't even get me started on the DLC.10/10, would not buy again.

Horrible reiteration of a good game
June 8, 2013
I have been a huge NFS fan since the beginning. So far have enjoyed most of the games and thought this would be a good redo of a pretty decent NFS game. Boy was I wrong. This game truly sucks. I would have to say it is probably one of the worst but not the worst. That title goes to NFS:The Run. Needless to say its pretty horrible. I don't honestly know what EA is thinking having Criterion make this game. They are only good at making Burnout and suck at making NFS. Here are my reasons for disliking the game.- No customization at all. Not even a little bit.- Controls are atrocious.- The crash cam thing is really annoying.- The camera bouncing up and down whenever I go over a jump and hit the ground is disorienting and annoying.- No story line. I know some people don't like that in a racer but if I am playing NFS:MW I want a story line like I had in the original.- The graphics are ok but could be better.- The layout of the city is a horrible design and has way to much crap in it.I really wanted to like this game and forced myself to play even though it wasn't enjoyable, thinking I would get use to the controls, but it didn't change. The more I played the more I hated this game. Now I wont even check out Criterion/EA's next NFS game. I would definitely not recommend this to anyone who wants a good NFS game like we have had in the past and I will either be returning this or selling it.
