I love these placemats. They look great on my kitchen table and also help protect the table. They are exactly as described and wipe off easily.
It is important to note that these are WOVEN, so if you have any spills, they will go right through the place mat.

These look very nice, come in a variety of colors, and are super easy to clean and durable. VERY happy with these mats!

These are not machine washable, which is the only potential drawback...but they are easy enough to clean that it hasn't been a issue for us. And I will take their durability over cheap, wrinkly washer-safe fabric mats any day!

Two kiddos in the household drove me to search for some easy-care, attractive placemat and I'm just delighted with these. Yes, they're open-weave and a spill will seep through. But they'll at least retard, if not prevent, run-off onto the floor and the placemats can be run under the faucet, shaken briefly to remove the water, air-dried, and they're good as new. We've used them every night for more than six months and they're as good as when we got them.

These arrived exactly as expected. Woven vinyl so they won't catch spills but I just needed them to catch the occasional greasy piece of meat or a slop of mashed potatoes from my kids. I have a reclaimed wood dining room table and didn't want to dig food out of the ridges and these fit the bill. The color was spot on and the fact that 8 comes in a package was fantastic since I'll have two spare.

I bought this style for my breakfast/everyday eating area next to our kitchen. I wanted a more casual look since I bought the Benson Mills Longport Crossweave Woven Vinyl Placements in Nickel for my dining room, but to be quite frank, they can easily be interchangeable. Either way, these are easy to clean and a great look. Love the color as well. My breakfast area is a glass table with chrome legs and the chairs are med-dark gray velvet and leather with chrome nail heads, so these silver/gray colored Nickel table mats are perfectly matched and a very nice touch.

I ordered these as a bottom to my aquarium. They were easy to straighten out to lay flat on the bottom of the tank (I just ran them under hot water). They're easy to clean. Nothing in the tank can ingest them. They come in a variety of colors. They are woven to make it easy for creatures to hold onto them and walk on the floor. Seriously - if you're looking for a flooring for your aquarium, DON'T buy gravel/sand/etc. Buy THIS!The only issue is, if the current in the tank is too strong, the water can sometimes pick the mats up. To avoid this from happening, just place decorations in the tank (which should be there, anyway). SUPER EASY.

really exceptionally pretty. they aren't a 'solid' sheet of vinyl with no 'holes', so if something spills or leaks , it will go onto the table/surface. For what I wanted, that didn't matter. I love totally love the look of these. incidentally, I bought them because I had bought a wooden tray from pier one, that was totally stupid, it made a glass ring mark every time you put a water glass on it. so I actually ordered these place matts to 'live on top' of that tray' forever, and I don't care what liquid gets on it now, these matts make the whole tray look amazing. I had to measure first so I knew they would fit:) slightly glossy, good fine grain surface.

Update: Inhave made this a 5 Star instead of the 4 I had given previously. These placemats are practically indestructible!These are nice placemats. I'm satisfied with my purchase. I have young grandsons that live with me and its impossible at this point to have the really expensive cloth placemats on my table so this is a good substitute. It has a pretty sheen to it, they don't look cheap, and it looks really nice on top of a tablecloth. My only complaint is that they are very thin, so I'm not sure how long it will hold up.

I purchased these to put on my vanity to protect the top from various makeup bottles and brushes. These really nice looking, and look upscale. Everyone complains about the crease that is down the middle. If you lay the mat flat, over time it will go away, or you can use the hot water method to ease out the crease.These mats are plastic, but you would never know without touching it. I feel like these will hold up well in the long run.Great Buy

We love these. They are easy to clean and look great and hold up very well. We have gotten a ton of compliments on these on our new table. We are already looking at to buy more.These are great since unlike cloth placemats, these prevent liquids from going to the table but look better than most plastic mats. They did come with a crease down the middle and I took another reviewers advice and set them in hot water and it worked perfectly.

Kids make it hard to keep the placemats looking classy. These look like woven linen without the constant hassle of washing them (or the wrinkles after washing). Just spray off in the sink and shake or hang to dry. No fuss, no muss, no wrinkles!As others noted, mine came with a fold in them, but I tossed them in the sink, dumped hot water on them and placed on a flat counter. The heat relaxed them and made them flat, it looks like they were ironed. Best of all they stay like that.I'm back to order more for when we setup a portable table for dinner parties.

So far these placemats seem to be exactly what I wanted, as far as their function.

The only warning I give is that the color displayed is not representative of what I received. I ordered Chocolate. The picture makes it look like a grreenish-gray, which would have been awesome, but the actual color is more like, well, chocolate. And it's fine for me anyway, but I write this caution because the pictures of the other colors may not be as they seem either.

These are really nice mats, but it would have been ideal if there was another soft layer underneath to help prevent heat absorption into the table. It's just so thin and the heat does get through, which over time can damage your table.

I like these place mats. They are attractive, not too fancy, but nice enough for company. They wipe clean with a dishcloth. BUT -- they are porous and if you spill or drop food on them the food will go through to the table. I wondered why my oak table was getting sticky in places until I discovered it was where the place mats were. I quickly cleaned the wood and now watch carefully for food residue, especially when I feed my grandchildren at the table. You could ruin good wood if you aren't aware that food goes through these.

I gave 4 stars because it looks very nice but one flaw is the woven pattern has small openings which will not protect your table should you spill liquid items. The liquid or sauce will leak through. Other than that, it functions well as a placemat & looks very nice that you would not be able to tell it was made of vinyl, it looks like a very small fiber woven basket turned into a placemat. I would recommend this product for daily use, wipes up easily.

Ehhh not sure what I expected, but my first thoughts when unwrapping them were "kinda cheap." The edges are completely unfinished. They also took forever to completely unroll themselves so they'd lay flat. So don't wait until the night before a big dinner party to unroll them and set the table. As has been said in other reviews, they're not solid and will allow just about anything to pass through to the table/tablecloth below. Liquid will go right through, a bite of sandwich won't. Something like.... a fallen square of lasagna would be pretty darn close. I think if you pulled the mat off the table right away, I wouldn't be surprised if no sauce got through. Wouldn't be surprised if a little got through either though. If that helps anyone at all. LOL

These are well made plastic place mats and look great on a black table. They DO let small crumbs and liquid through, not to mention heat... Hot soup bowls, coffee, or tea cups absolutely WILL damage the finish of something like our Bassett kitchen table... (And did.) But they came with a single 2.5" round silicone coaster that does indeed protect against heat and my wife has been using that since getting these and it's working fine. Silicone is the way to go if you must have heat protection... Do not expect them to protect your furniture from heat, liquid, or crumbs, but if you want a nice-looking place mat that is easy to wash and store they are great.

This table mats are really nice. they took a bit of time to received but for the price it's worth the wait. They are easy to clean and they are very well made heavy duty and fancy.. what else can I say they do the job. The thing I wish they do doe is to use better packing since it was just in a plastic bag and since it's a long journey the bag got ripped and you can actually see the mats through the hole but thanks god they were only a little folded and dusty and that went away once I clean them. In the future I will order a new set once this need replacement..Elsito..

I really like these mats but I have one problem. They were folded when shipped so there is a crease down the middle. I read some other reviews and they said put them in the sink with really hot water and it'll take the crease out. I did that and they do lay flatter but you can still see the crease. It would be beneficial if they were shipped flat or rolled and put in a tube.

They are definitely plastic. Not a bad thing. They came folded in half, that's a bad thing. The middle is creased. I soaked them in hot water for a half hour. Helped a little. I would have given it 5 stars if the company hadn't been so cheap about packing them in a bag that required them to be folded in half. I like them anyways. They look nice on my table.

I really like these placemats but giving 4 star because one had a woven thread missing. Contacted company with info I had from Amazon on my order to get replacement but they asked for some other number from Amazon they wanted me to get and I wasn't sure how to contact AMAZON about it and was busy and let it pass. My fault. Otherwise nice mats but they came folded and it was hard to get the folds out. I would buy again, would be nice for outdoor table.

Returned as the product description said square and these were rectangles. Nice quality and looked pretty - just not what we wanted.

I like them but they're not cut straight. This is just made from a large tapestry of woven plastic fibers that is then cut by machines (or people) that are not very precise. Word of advise to the manufacturer... order your coils a fabric to your specified width then you only have to worry about cutting two sides!!

They look great!! The problem with them is they are truly woven, so there are holes between the weaves. I was looking for placemates that would keep moisture/food off my wooden table.

You need to be aware of how dampness goes right through the mat and onto the table. Cold drinks with ice, sweat and sits on the table below. Be sure to check.

There is nothing wrong with these mats, but they are a woven plastic so fluids can go through them. I thought they were solid.

These are elegant looking, but they can stain permanently. We had some roasted red pepper sauce drip on it, and we weren't able to remove the stain fully.

They were shipped folded in half. I didn't think it would be a problem and that the crease would go away over time. Nope, still there after using for several months. If they had been shipped flat, they are a nice placemat and I would have given it 4 or 5 stars.

These are nice looking place mats but they are folded into the packaging and it creates a crease down the center of the mats. I was never able to eliminate the creases. I've tried placing books on top of them, soaking them in hot water, and exposing them to hot air but nothing would eliminate the creases.

I bought these because someone said they clean easy...they do not, at all. Overall they look very nice, and if I didn't have kids they would work really well, but if you are buying them to keep food, messes off your table not so much. If a liquid, like a drop of milk gets on it, even submersing it and scrubbing doesn't always get it all out. I do love the way they look, though as many others mentioned they come folded and we have had ours a few months and I can still see the old crease. I think eventually it will go away but so far it is still there lightly even after many many hot water soaks, and even a very gentle ironing. Overall if I didn't have kids I would probably buy them again because they look very nice, but if you are looking to protect from messes find something else the tight weave will just be frustrating to clean.

Nice look but I can't get the folds out (comes folded in package). Not good for really hot plates or coffee cups.

Cheap looking vinyl mats. Not always cut on the grain so they look crooked. Slide all over the place. I may try and sew a decorative edge with my sewing machine to make them look less junky. You can get the same thing at the Dollar stores.

Read reviews that suggested these are good for kids. Maybe okay if your kids are older and spill occasionally, but not okay for a toddler who spills off his plate daily, because the mats have many tiny holes.

I'm sure these would be nice if they were actually RED. They aren't even close to red, but more brown. I'm returing them!

The placemats are mesh, so any liquids are going to drip straight through and stain your table. The color and workmanship looks great, but it falls short functionally.

Very thin and flimsy. I was under the impression that they were fabric and sturdy. They are plastic and paper thin so I was disappointed. They also just look brown and not red.

When we ordered them they came folded and had creases on them. Placed a cloth above them and used an iron to remove the creases, and it worked. They aren't practical, because things leak through them. Pretty much only used them for decorative purposes.

Arrived on time, but came folded. There's a crease from the fold that remains.

Hard to clean

Item came without advertised bookmark. Also, the item came folded and I could not get the crease to come out. Thankfully Amazon accepted return. I bought the off brand "High Quality PVC" and they are actually much better!!! I would not recommend paying the extra $$$ for these.

Difficult to clean due to the woven nature of the fabric. Looks nice but that is it.

These placemats are beautiful, but they ARE NOT a solid barrier. If you have a glass with condensation, or there is a spill on the mat, or food that is not completely solid, it can go through the mat to your table. It's proven to be a problem a few times, so I'm buying something different now. Too bad, because they are beautiful, and I've received compliments on them... : (

I'm updating my review, because I've become so irritated with these place mats! I'm constantly pulling them up to find that crumbs/liquid have settled underneath them. You think what's under them would be fine, but again, they ARE NOT a solid barrier to protect your table. I'm not working on replacing them, because I really don't want my table to be ruined.

I love these placemats! But, how in the heck am I ever going to be able to use them? The deep crease in the middle of them (from storage and then shipping) is not likely to ever come out! I am so, so disappointed!

Cheap product. I wouldn't buy these again. The placemats are thin and crumbs fall through them.

I want a place mat that prevents food and liquid from getting on table. This place mat does not. It's a mesh type of fabric and does not protect your table at all.

Does not protect table from moisture....so whats the point? In fact, they trap moisture under them, which is worse than having nothing.These are also very difficult to flatten out after being rolled.

They didn't arrive rolled as described; they arrived folded, and the fold doesn't seem to be disappearing, giving them a terribly cheap look. They would otherwise have been nice placemats, but these are only fit for the trash now that they were so poorly packaged.
