I made cinnamon rolls for a 3 tiered cinnamon roll cake for a wedding shower and they cam out of the pan perfectly. The pans are heavy and easy to clean. Love these. They are hand wash only which is a bit of a bummer but maybe that's why all my other ones don't last very long. I've never had an issue with a cake sticking to these - I don't even need to use parchment paper. Cakes bake evenly through, with little 'crust' on the outside, like some other pans. Something else I've noticed is that cakes bake very level in these pans. The pans are heavy and would be very hard to dent. Hold up well in dishwasher as well, but hand washing them is super easy. I was on the fence as to how important a rotating cake stand is to decorating cakes but when it came time to do a cake that I really wanted to turn out well I broke down and got this while it was on sale. I promise you are going to love it!Update 4/24/17- I have used this cake leveler several times with different cake recipes and it levels cakes perfectly every time. I love it so much. For those who are saying that this leveler shreds cakes, you need to make sure that the cakes are completely cool. I always freeze my cakes before leveling. I usually make them days ahead, freeze then thaw for two hours before leveling. This method works like a charm. If you need the cakes the same day here what is you need to do after the cake comes out of the oven 1.) invert the cakes after 10 mins. 2.) cool them on a cooling rack for an hour 3.) wrap them in saran wrap and freeze for an hour 4.) take them out of the freezer and level. The chocolate cake I posted with my review is really moist but the cake leveler still worked. I didn't have a problem at all. I love love love this cake leveler and I can't live without it now. It's real easy to use and will last a long time since it's metal. Nice slice June 19, 2016 This leveler worked very well for cutting the layer cakes that I make for specialty cakes. I have an original model by Wilton but this one "takes the cake" in ease of use. My only slight issue is if a cake layer isn't very tall you won't get even layers as there is a certain height you will start with because of the feet. It does glide through the cakes I use it for which may be because I like to work with a dense wedding style cake. Now if there is an storage solution for this I would love to find it! Wilton Decorate Smart Small Cake Leveler April 6, 2013 I read the poor reviews regarding the wire/cutter breaking but thought I'd take a chance on this tool because if I could make it work and hold up it would be incredibly accurate and a great time saver.When my wife and I removed the tool from the box to inspect it I started to pull on the tab on one end of the wire in order to adjust it to a higher level. Almost immediately I realized a great deal of pressure would be needed to get the needed slack to move the wire to a upper notch and also this was the wrong way to adjust it and additionally was why folks were breaking the wire. The best way we found to adjust it was to place a damp dish cloth at the front edge of the counter to prevent slipping, point the open end of the "U" shaped tool toward the rear of the of the counter and hold it exactly vertical, rest the bottom leg on the counter and in about an inch and then press down on the top leg this will give the necessary slack to adjust the wire without straining the connections.I find it impossible to understand why these instructions were not included either in or on the box a diagram and a few words certainly seen necessary and would be much easier to understand than what I have written here. Four Star Reviews: | 9% This is a great little pan set August 27, 2017 This is a great little pan set. The non-stick coating is good quality, it washes well, it heats well and cooks evenly. I gave it four stars because the logo in then bottom of the pan transfers to the cake. I know most people aren't inspecting the bottom of my cakes, but if they did, I don't necessarily want to be a walking advertisement for the Cake Boss (I prefer to have a choice in these matters). All in all, it's a decent set. Good pans! Good price! December 9, 2016 Great pans! Definitely non stick and easy to wash. Cake released from the pans no problem. The bottom of the pan is honeycomb but icing will cover the pattern. I didn't expect them to be so heavy but they are thick and heavy. One Star Reviews: | 3% These are NOT SQUARE! June 30, 2017 Was looking for a SQUARE pan set for a wedding cake. These are not SQUARE so I really feel this item is mislabeled. I am not a professional baker but, when advertised as SQUARE I do expect SQUARE. Sides are tapered and cakes burn easily April 29, 2016 If I could give a zero I would. I do not like these pans at all. Was looking for a straight sided square pan when I purchased these. The photos looked promising but when they arrived they were tapered just like all the others. My question is: why would you make a square pan with tapered edges? It is impossible to create a double layer without trimming each side which gives me more labor when I'm pricing my cakes plus unnecessary waste. Please someone come up with a reasonable solution!Also the pans burn if you aren't super careful. I had to adjust all of my bake temperatures and times just to bake in these pans. Would not recommend them to anyone and wish I hadn't used them and kept the packaging so I could send them back. Worst purchase ever.
