I'm a lifetime customer now
September 7, 2017
I have a child with autism so it was particularly important for me to find a high quality fish oil. I have tried for years looking for a good fish oil but they all ended up doing The same thing- giving that horrific fish after taste and burps. When I found this product I was surprised to see how much DHA was in it compared to fish oils I'd spent double the amount on at nature stores. When we first began taking it I was worried it was fake because I got no fishy aftertaste, no burping. It's been over a month and with everyday use not only has both our vision gotten better, but our focus is also better. Also (I'm not sure if this has anything to do with the fish oil but the fish oil is the only thing different in the past month) my son's dandruff and acne have completely gone away. I never write reviews for products, but this one I had to. It's excellent. I'm a lifetime customer. I do wish however that they would add a little omega 6 to it to balance it out.
Nutrigold Triple Strength Omega-3 Gold Fish...
September 6, 2017
I have to say, even with this potency, not one burp of fish. Perfect and if the bottle is not cold and kept at room temperature, the capsules should be soft enough to take no problem. I take a lot of meds and they all go first thing in the morning. The capsules were cold too, but I will be more careful next time. The capsules really are no bigger than other capsules. As far as dissolving in the Large Intestine, I'm sure it does and that is where it needs to dissolve in order to work. I will continue with these, a little pricey, but worth it I feel.
Switching slowly to Nutrigold !!
April 4, 2016
I am 43 years old woman, trying to stay healthy. I do not have any cholesterol or high blood pressure, but I bought these pills to helps me loose few pounds. I exercise everyday and try to eat healthy most of the time. What I like about these pills is that I don't have to take multiple a day, only one gives the daily value of omega I needanother thing is I do not burp it at all, I used fish oil before from other companies but I burped fish the whole day and it was not pleasant. The pills are in the largest side though but since they are soft gels they are easy to slide down the throat.I am liking the compagnie and I just ordered Garcinia Cambogia to help with my weight loss.I am also going to switch my multi and my husband's multi from another company to Nutrigold, just waiting to finish what we have.I just wish they have vitamin for kids too!!!

I started taking this for mild depression/ anxiety in hopes that I could get off my prescription for good. Started with one a day for a couple months and recently increased to two a day. I noticed a difference within a few days...I felt much more positive and had more energy. I am down to half a dose on my antidepressant and haven't missed a beat. Last time I tried to cut back I was miserable, depressed and tired. My husband and my mom noticed immediately. This time no one can tell that I've changed anything.... I would definitely recommend giving this a try if you struggle with mild depression or anxiety.
Top Quality Fish Oil
February 14, 2015
I have been taking fish oil on and off for the last five years. I recently had serious stomach issues mostly related to a problematic gall bladder, and I really am cautious what I put in my body. I really see the supplement industry for the most part as a big money pit, but all in all I try to eat a well balanced diet, mostly organic. Going back to stomach issues it seemed any fish oil or vitamin I would take would really bother me even if it was a whole food easily digestible product on a full stomach. So I took a break for a year or so, and because I do not eat fish I really feel it is important for me to take a quality fish oil. For the last year I was taking New Chapter Wholemega which I really liked, it did not bother me and had good reviews including a good rating on Labdoor. Over time I began reading reviews about how the Omega 3 content for the price was pretty low compared to other options out there. I then saw this product as the #1 Fish Oil for quality and value at that current time (a few months ago). I have been taking this fish oil for 1 month now, and I have no stomach issues, no fishy burps ever. I am not going to sit here and say it makes me feel better, I have more energy etc, because I really couldn't prove that. I will be able to justify the use of this better if my cholesterol is effected in a positive way, or any other health benefit that I am unaware of. I would recommend this product mainly because of the companies stand on supplying healthy, safe and effective products.
Best for EPA/DHA Concentration & price

I analyzed by concentration of EPA/DHA and by price for $ per EPA/DHA, and this one is the best. Fishy burbs are to a minimum with this one.. This is an excellent source of quality fish oil
September 2, 2017
This is an excellent source of quality fish oil, and it is the ONLY one that, for me anyway, is truly burpless. The product arrived fresh and in good condition, not stuck together as some other reviewers stated. Has a fresh lemony scent. It arrived a day or 2 later than was promised by Amazon, actually shipping out on the day it was supposed to arrive.
No fish breath!
August 26, 2017
No fish taste, just a pleasant, slightly lemon taste up front. The lemon flavor goes away instantly when you swallow the pill. Recently started taking it but it seems to work well.

March 24, 2017
The reason that I gave these capsules a 5 star rating is because they go down easily and neither my husband or myself have had any problems with burping up a fishy taste. I have no idea yet if taking them will have any effect on my cholesterol level.

Smells decent, expiration is enough
April 21, 2016
Many buyers complained about pills stuck altogether, but I didn't have any problems like.(bought 4 bottles)But after I left it in my office a day, it showed sticky problem. I guess it depends on the weather condition. The expiration date is till July 19, which is enough to consume.Little fishy smells but overall it has great lemon sent.I've hated eating vitamins because it made me burping with unpleasant flavor. This is my first purchase of Nordic and it is great to not have fishy flavor when burping!

These are good fish oil pills
March 21, 2016
These are good fish oil pills. They are large and not too hard to swallow, although they are a little more stiff than some other brands. They had very little fishy aftertaste and were better than most other brands in that regard. I find I prefer the Nordic Naturals, although these are a better bang for your buck. I find the taste difference to be negligible for me, so I will likely continue to purchase these as well.
Great ratio of omega-3 fatty acids :)
March 13, 2016
Great product. Very complete and potent. A little on the expensive side though. Knowing that omega 3 essential fatty acids can not be released by the body, so must obtain them from the diet. Herbal oils such as those found in flaxseed and walnuts contain ALA (alpha linolenic acid) which our body can convert it into EPA and DHA, and they also do not contain all the eight acids omega-3. Salmon oil naturally contains all eight omega-3 fatty acids, including EPA / DHA, so that the body does not convert ALA.I am very happy with this product, it is the 3rd time I buy.
Excellent choice for Omega-3 Fish Oil
October 24, 2015
The Omega-3 Fish Oil - NutriGold Triple Strength Omega-3 Gold is a very high quality fish oil product. I did lots of research after being told by my eye doctor to add fish oil supplements. I found that LabDoor.com actually rates this product as an A- (which is very, very good). I have never noticed a fishy taste, after taste, or any fish burps. I take the product to help with very dry eyes and it works great! I rated the product only four stars because I don't like the size of each capsule being so large. I did know that the capsules would be large when I ordered them though and it does seem to be similar to other fish oil products. The capsules are smooth and easy enough to swallow - I just wish they could be smaller. The Omega-3 Fish Oil - NutriGold Triple Strength Omega-3 Gold does work better for me than the Life Extension Krill Oil that I tried for the same reason. I have also tried a couple other fish oil products and found that this is the product that works best for me. My other family members now use the same product.Omega-3 Fish Oil - NutriGold Triple Strength Omega-3 Gold, 180 Softgels - 1000 mg EPA + DHA with 85% Omega-3s in 1,250 mg Liquid Capsules, Molecularly Distilled Fatty Acids, Pharmaceutical Grade Pills That Are NOT Enteric Coated for Best Absorption But Still Guaranteed Burpless and Odorless - IFOS 5-Star Certified, ConsumerLab Approved, and Ranked #1 by LabDoor in Comparison of Top 50 Fish Oil Supplements
180 Softgels) to be seemingly as good but quite less expensive than Nordic NAturals EPA
September 10, 2015
After some research I found this product (Omega-3 Fish Oil - NutriGold Triple Strength Omega-3 Gold, 180 Softgels) to be seemingly as good but quite less expensive than Nordic NAturals EPA, my preferred brand. So far so good. But the packaging this product comes in is ridiculous - the box is needlessly twice the height of the container... and for what? So they don't have to fold a needlessly glossy catalog in with the container. With so much waste in the packaging I'll leave this product for a comparable one in a second even if it costs a little bit more. Their container is so big it forces Amazon to use a box twice as big, which reduces the # of packages UPS can move in the truck, etc. etc. <rant over>
Great natural remedy for ADD/ADHD!
June 12, 2015
I bought this for my children who display symptoms of ADHD but don't do well on prescription medication due to side effects. I have noticed a big change in attitude on the days when I give it to my daughter who seems to be worse than my son. My daughter has more of the hyperactivity than my son does. He just has trouble focusing mainly so I won't know how well he is doing on it till school starts back up again but if it is any indication by how well my daughter seems to be doing on it then I believe that he will do well as well. I take fish oil as well but a different brand for my rheumatoid arthritis pain and it seems to help. I am considering a higher quality because the current one that I take isn't triple strength like this brand is. I will try to remember to update my review in the late fall when the first quarter conferences come around to see how well they are both doing in school while on this stuff.
Does this work? Who knows?
July 19, 2014
The supplement world is a scary place, as anecdotal evidence seems to reign supreme. I have a healthy heart, exercise and try to eat well but I figure these can't hurt, and in conjunction with my statins seem to be keeping my fat numbers in a good range. Having said this, am I going to live longer or not develop circulatory or heart problems? Check with me after I've died to get my best estimate as to it's efficacy. My research on the subject seems to support my decision to use this product as one of the better of the myriad available, the cost per dose is low and aftertaste or burping is minimal.

Finally an Omega 3 that doesn't cause stomach problems
July 30, 2016
After avoiding supplements, especially Omega 3, for years because of their tendency to repeat or cause stomach upset, I'm sold on this brand. It's pricey but worth it. I'm giving this one 4 stars, simply because I prefer Ultimate Omega 2x, which allows you to take fewer capsules daily.
No Need To "Flounder": A Fish Oil That Continues To Earn Your Trust....No "Fluke" !
February 19, 2015
Much has already been said about the clinical benefits of fish oil supplements and a detailed comparison of some of the top-rated brands of these supplements has already been reported by another Amazon colleague (RWM-5.21.2013). My own experience with this product continues to be favorable with regular use. As someone who has struggled with acid reflux for nearly 22 years, I can attest that this product does not generate the fishy reflux that I experienced with so many other types of these products. Remember that we all vary in our responses to foods and supplements so your experience may be different, particularly if you are on concomitant Rx meds.PROS:1. A well-balanced omega-3 supplement enhanced with lemon without the fishy reflux commonly experienced with most fish oil.2. Delivers 690 mg of total omega-3's (EPA, DHA) exceeding the daily recommendation of 500 mg for omega-3 fatty acids.3. Preferred triglycerides form rather than ethyl esters form.4. Sourced from sardines and anchovy relatively high on the food chain spectrum.5. GMO, gluten, dairy, soy, mercury, artificial color and flavor- free per manufacturer claims.6. Third-party tested for transparency of product claims Ex. IFOS 5-star rated (Their highest rating).7. Responsive, courteous customer support.CONS:1. I would like to see batch data on each bottle disclosing radioactivity metrics in addition to testing for PCB's, heavy metals and dioxins. This seems particularly relevant given Fukushima, Chernobyl and other catastrophic accidents releasing ionizing radiation into our atmosphere, soil and water.2. Percentage Omega-3 per gel cap = 35% (relatively moderate compared with some other top-rated products)3. Not vegetarian-Capsules are bovine-sourced.4. Not enteric-coated. (A disadvantage only if you have severe reflux and cannot tolerate this type of supplement).5. Flash distillation purification rather than the preferred molecular distillation or ideal "Supercritical Dual-Process CO2 Technology"6. Not certified kosher or halal.7. 4 mg cholesterol per daily servingRECOMMENDATIONS:1. This is a very good (4-star) Omega-3 at a reasonable price but relatively low in the %age of omega-3 per capsule at only 35%. Unfortunately, my favorite has been discontinued by Nordic Naturals (EPA Elite). However, you may wish to consider Nordic Natural's "Ultimate Omega" which offers 64% omega-3 per gel capsule and uses the preferred molecular distillation for purification. The down side of the Ultimate Omega is the price: $50.80 per 180 capsule bottle (Amazon price as of 2.19.2015).2. Consider getting a full blood lipid panel at your next visit to your physician BEFORE committing to taking this product in order to establish your pre-treatment (baseline) levels of triglycerides, total cholesterol, LDL, HDL and HDL:LDL ratio. Do another blood test in 90 days and maintain your regular dietary and exercise habits throughout this interval. This is a more reasonable and somewhat less subjective way to assess the relative effectiveness of the supplement.3. As with any OTC supplement, consult your healthcare practitioner BEFORE taking this product, particularly if you are taking Rx meds and/or are iodine-allergic, on blood thinners or anticipating surgery.TO YOUR GOOD HEALTH!!!
If Any Are Broken, Send them Back

I usually love this product. This time one or more of the softgels popped and left an oily coating on the rest of the bottle's contents. If this happens to you, complain while you have the chance--I have to wash my hands every time I take these and because they are oily I am not comfortable loading them into my pill keeper. I am worried they will mess with the physical integrity of the pills they would come in contact with. This is the first time I have had this problem.

Good, but the price seems to be going up. I'm not sure if its the best anymore.
A good product but I can't say that it is better than other brands.
February 11, 2017
I think it is useful to take fish oil supplements. This product is OK but I really can't say that any one of the many brands of fish oil is better than the others. My recommendation is to try one bottle and see how you like it. Better yet read about the value of taking fish oil and the benefits (and risks) of eating fish. Find out the relative benefits of taking a capsule versus eating food containing Omega-3s.
IMPORTANT:DON'T PAY THE INFLATED PRICE RMW COMPARISON
August 8, 2016
The manufacturer is apparently changing the packaging so I think that is why there is no stock being sold directly by Amazon at the moment for the original price. All of the other sellers doubled the cost for the old packaging! I bought the new one from Herbal Providers. The new packaging comes in a heavy glass (or is it really hard plastic?) jar that's around one pound. I do not feel safe with this jar at the edge of the cabinet as it might be breakable. I wish they didn't change the packaging.-UPDATE 9/6/2016-I just checked, they recently hiked up the price on Herbal Providers too! I think Nutrigold is trying to hide their inflated pricing by changing the packaging. Why else would they change something that didn't need to be changed in the first place? Now I might have to look for a cheaper alternative after I finish this bottle. This is absolutely ridiculous. Such a shame. I'm knocking off a star.-UPDATE- 2/11/2017I'm starting to run out of my last batch of tablets so I found an old user review I had found to answer someone's question that I also used for considering my last purchase a while back. It's an older review, but the author "RWM" is no longer on Amazon apparently so that could be something to consider. As a Disclaimer, the information below is not mine at all! I'm just pasting it here cause it could be useful for anyone else who reads reviews, especially with these rising prices. I have no idea if the other brands made changes since his or her review in 2015, so again, take it all with a grain of salt:*****This is a side-by-side comparison of ten leading omega-3 fish oil supplements: OmegaVia Pharma-Grade Fish Oil, Nutrigold Triple Strength Fish Oil Omega-3 Gold, Garden of Life Minami Nutrition Platinum Omega 3 Plus D3 Formula, Norwegian Gold Ultimate Fish Oils Super Critical Omega, Nordic Naturals Ultimate Omega, Omapure Pharmaceutical Grade Omega-3 Fish Oil, Now Ultra Omega-3, UnoCardio 1000 + Vitamin D 1000, Innovix Triple Strength Omega-3, and Innovix Labs Pharma-Grade Omega-3.There are three major components of omega-3 in these products: EPA (which is good for your heart, circulatory system, lowering triglycerides, depression and mood orientation, and is a powerful anti-inflammatory for soothing joint pains), DHA (which is good for your mental acuity, or if you are pregnant, nursing an infant, or for children), and "other." Other omega-3s, like DPA and SDA, are types of fatty acids which are easily converted to EPA in the body. The reports include a 5-star rating for each product containing greater than 60% concentration of EPA and DHA per gram of fish oil, allowing consumers to compare fish oil products based on their safety, purity and quality. Some of this testing now includes radiation testing as a result of the Japanese Fukushima accident. Most of the highly rated omega-3 fish oil products are listed. Nutrigold Triple Strength Fish Oil Omega-3 Gold is listed as a five star omega-3 fish oil product, which is the highest rating attainable.LABEL DESCRIPTION: I am favorably impressed when a company understates its product's omega-3 content on the label. OmegaVia Pharma-Grade Fish Oil typically understates its product's potency on its labels. I have seen IFOS batch test results which place OmegaVia Pharma-Grade Fish Oil's omega-3 potency as high as 94%, far higher than what is stated on its label. Omapure Pharmaceutical Grade Omega-3 Fish Oil and Barlean's Ideal 3 Omega also typically understate their products' omega-3 content on their labels.POTENCY: UnoCardio 1000 + Vitamin D 1000 (91%) has the most omega-3 potency of those in the comparison; followed by Garden of Life Minami Nutrition Platinum Omega 3 Plus D3 Formula (89%); followed by Nutrigold Triple Strength Fish Oil Omega-3 Gold (85%) and Innovix Labs Pharma-Grade Omega-3 (85%); followed by Norwegian Gold Ultimate Fish Oils Super Critical Omega (77%); followed by Now Ultra Omega-3 (75%) and Innovix Triple Strength Omega-3 (75%); followed by Omapure Pharmaceutical Grade Omega-3 Fish Oil (72%); and followed by Nordic Naturals Ultimate Omega (64%), which has the least omega-3 potency of those in the comparison.PRICE PER PILL: UnoCardio 1000 + Vitamin D 1000 ($.73 per gel cap) is the most expensive per pill of those in the comparison; followed by Garden of Life Minami Nutrition Platinum Omega 3 Plus D3 Formula ($.62 per gel cap) and Norwegian Gold Ultimate Fish Oils Super Critical Omega ($.64 per gel cap); followed by OmegaVia Pharma-Grade Fish Oil ($.48 per gel cap); followed by Nordic Naturals Ultimate Omega ($.33 per gel cap); followed by Omapure Pharmaceutical Grade Omega-3 Fish Oil ($.25 per gel cap); followed by Nutrigold Triple Strength Fish Oil Omega-3 Gold ($.21 per gel cap); followed by Innovix Triple Strength Omega-3 ($.15 per gel cap); followed by Now Ultra Omega-3 ($.13 per gel cap); and followed by Innovix Labs Pharma-Grade Omega-3 ($.10 per gel cap), which is the least expensive per pill of those in the comparison.PRICE PER 1000 MGS OMEGA-3: Norwegian Gold Ultimate Fish Oils Super Critical Omega ($.67 per 1000 mgs omega-3) is the most expensive per 1000 mgs omega-3 of those in the comparison; followed by UnoCardio 1000 + Vitamin D 1000 ($.64 per 1000 mgs omega-3); followed by Garden of Life Minami Nutrition Platinum Omega 3 Plus D3 Formula ($.57 per 1000 mgs omega-3); followed by Nordic Naturals Ultimate Omega ($.51 per 1000 mgs omega-3); followed by OmegaVia Pharma-Grade Fish Oil ($.44 per 1000 mgs omega-3); followed by Omapure Pharmaceutical Grade Omega-3 Fish Oil ($.38 per 1000 mgs omega-3); followed by Innovix Labs Pharma-Grade Omega-3 ($.20 per 1000 mgs omega-3); followed by Nutrigold Triple Strength Fish Oil Omega-3 Gold ($.19 per 1000 mgs omega-3); followed by Now Ultra Omega-3 ($.19 per 1000 mgs omega-3); and followed by Innovix Triple Strength Omega-3 ($.17 per 1000 mgs omega-3), which is the least expensive per 1000 mgs of omega-3 of those in the comparison.PILL SIZE: OmegaVia Pharma-Grade Fish Oil (1300 mgs) is the largest pill of those in the comparison; followed by UnoCardio 1000 + Vitamin D 1000 (1266 mgs); followed by Nutrigold Triple Strength Fish Oil Omega-3 Gold (1250 mgs); followed by Garden of Life Minami Nutrition Platinum Omega 3 Plus D3 Formula (1218 mgs); followed by Norwegian Gold Ultimate Fish Oils Super Critical Omega (1200 mgs); followed by Nordic Naturals Ultimate Omega (1000 mgs), Now Ultra Omega-3 (1000 mgs), and Innovix Triple Strength Omega-3 (1000 mgs); followed by Omapure Pharmaceutical Grade Omega-3 Fish Oil (900 mgs); and followed by Innovix Labs Pharma-Grade Omega-3 (589 mgs), which is the smallest pill of those in the comparison. In terms of size, all of these pills are manageable for most folks.SOY CONTENT: Nutrigold Triple Strength Fish Oil Omega-3 Gold, OmegaVia Pharma-Grade Fish Oil, Norwegian Gold Ultimate Fish Oils Super Critical Omega, Nordic Naturals Ultimate Omega, Omapure Pharmaceutical Grade Omega-3 Fish Oil, UnoCardio 1000 + Vitamin D 1000, Innovix Triple Strength Omega-3, and Innovix Labs Pharma-Grade Omega-3 do not contain soy. Garden of Life Minami Nutrition Platinum Omega 3 Plus D3 Formula and Now Ultra Omega-3 contain soy.GMO CONTENT: None of these supplements contain GMOs.CHOLESTEROL CONTENT: OmegaVia Pharma-Grade Fish Oil, Nutrigold Triple Strength Fish Oil Omega-3 Gold, Garden of Life Minami Nutrition Platinum Omega 3 Plus D3 Formula, Omapure Pharmaceutical Grade Omega-3 Fish Oil, Now Ultra Omega-3, UnoCardio 1000 + Vitamin D 1000, Innovix Triple Strength Omega-3, and Innovix Labs Pharma-Grade Omega-3 do not contain cholesterol. Norwegian Gold Ultimate Fish Oils Super Critical Omega, and Nordic Naturals Ultimate Omega contain cholesterol.EPA/DHA RATIO: A high EPA to DHA ratio (more EPA than DHA) is beneficial for mood, inflammation, arthritis, heart and those concerned about their LDL cholesterol. A low EPA to DHA ratio (more DHA than EPA) is beneficial for pregnant/nursing women, children, those concerned about eyes, brain, memory, and those recovering from stroke or brain injury. DHA is mostly valuable for brain development in children 4 and under. After 5 years of age, the higher EPA portion is more important for focus, concentration, and behavior issues like ADHD.ENTERIC COATING: OmegaVia Pharma-Grade Fish Oil, Norwegian Gold Ultimate Fish Oils Super Critical Omega, Now Ultra Omega-3, Innovix Triple Strength Omega-3, and Innovix Labs Pharma-Grade Omega-3 are some of the few omega-3 fish oil products that are enteric coated. Enteric coating is used to prevent fish oil capsules from being digested in the stomach, which can cause a "fishy reflux." However, this problem is limited to only low grade, poorly manufactured fish oil products. Highly purified fish oil supplements that are manufactured to maintain freshness do not generally produce this fishy reflux, especially if the product is taken with food as recommended. Further, the only people who experience fishy burps from even high quality fish oil supplements are those with sensitive GI tract issues, for whom enteric coating may provide some relief from fishy burps, but may also interfere with absorption of the key nutrients in the supplement. There is some evidence that suggests that enteric coating is not required and may actually hinder or impede proper absorption of omega-3 fish oil. In my view, however, this body of evidence is not conclusive.Bottom line, if you have sensitive GI tract issues and experience fishy burps from omega-3 fish oil supplements, you may want to consider an enteric coated product.FISHY BURPS/ODOR: I have not noticed any fish burps or odor caused by any of these supplements, although I do not have GI tract issues so I'm probably not the best one to judge this aspect.SUPERCRITICAL DUAL-PROCESS CO2 TECHNOLOGY: OmegaVia Pharma-Grade Fish Oil, Garden of Life Minami Nutrition Platinum Omega 3 Plus D3 Formula, Norwegian Gold Ultimate Fish Oils Super Critical Omega, and UnoCardio 1000 + Vitamin D 1000 are not molecularly distilled. They use a proprietary Supercritical Dual-Process CO2 technology which concentrates omega-3s, yielding unique selectivity of one of the most biologically active omega-3 fatty acids - EPA. Using less heat, less repeat processing, and natural carbon dioxide as a solvent, allows these products to reach peak concentrations approximating 100% EPA, omitting superfluous fats and fillers. 400% less heat than molecular distillation is used during the entire process, with no oxygen exposure. Natural CO2 is used as an alternative to organic solvents and protects the final product from oxidation. In my opinion, Supercritical Dual-Process CO2 technology is superior to molecular distillation.VITAMIN D3: Norwegian Gold Ultimate Fish Oils Super Critical Omega and UnoCardio 1000 + Vitamin D 1000 contain 1000 I.U. of Vitamin D3. Garden of Life Minami Nutrition Platinum Omega 3 Plus D3 Formula contains 300 I.U. of Vitamin D3. I don't believe this is terribly significant, as Vitamin D3 can be purchased for very little money, and lots of folks who take it consume more than 1000 I.U. daily.LIPASE: Norwegian Gold Ultimate Fish Oils Super Critical Omega contains 4 mgs of Lipase, which is a fat digesting enzyme. Most omega-3 fish oil products do not contain Lipase. However, the human body produces more than adequate amounts of Lipase and, therefore, Norwegian Gold Ultimate Fish Oils Super Critical Omega's reference to its benefits might be somewhat enthusiastic.OMEGA-3 TEST: Anyone who is interested in having their omega-3 index tested can do so. There are two companies I would recommend: Omega Quant (see, http://omegaquant.com/0) or WHC (see, http://www.omega-3-index.com/en/index.php).MEALS: Any ethyl esters based and triglycerides based omega-3 fish oils are best taken with a meal containing some fat, as they are more efficiently absorbed when taken with food.THE LOVAZA COMPARISON: Nutrigold Triple Strength Fish Oil Omega-3 Gold is inexpensive for a high grade fish oil product. However, by comparison with the popular and well-known FDA approved prescription drug, Lovaza, which is made from fish oil, Nutrigold Triple Strength Fish Oil Omega-3 Gold is cheap. Each Lovaza 1000 mg capsule has 900 mgs of omega-3 fish oil (465 mgs of EPA, 375 mgs of DHA, and 60 mgs of Other). Each Nutrigold Triple Strength Fish Oil Omega-3 Gold gel cap has 1060 mgs of omega-3 fish oil (750 mgs of EPA, 250 mgs of DHA, and 60 of Other). Lovaza costs about $260.00 for a bottle of 120 pills, or about $2.17 per pill. Nutrigold Triple Strength Fish Oil Omega-3 Gold costs about $37.00 for a bottle of 180 gel caps, or about $.21 per gel cap. You get more omega-3 per gel cap from OmegaVia Pharma-Grade Fish Oil than you do from Lovaza at a fraction of the cost, and it is non-prescriptive. All of this poses an interesting question for Lovaza users: If Nutrigold Triple Strength Fish Oil Omega-3 Gold has more omega-3 potency than Lovaza per gel cap at a fraction of the cost, why not use it instead of Lovaza? This is a question Lovaza users may want to ask their physicians, pharmacists or nutritionists.OPINION: Nutrigold Triple Strength Fish Oil Omega-3 Gold is an excellent product. Just Started Using This Product
June 11, 2015
Just thought I would try another Omega-3 fish oil. Don't know if this is working or compare to other companies I have used. As far as the numbers & ingredients it is comparable.Update (3/29/17): I forgot to mention that I had been using Nordic Naturals for years. But saw that Nutrigold was going to glass which I was very happy about, but probably drove up the price. Also the last bottle I received from them had some broken capsules which made the whole bottle useless. No problem with Amazon though, I got the replacement right away & hopefully this was just a one time experience with this line. I really like their line & hope they will be able to keep up with qualities ingredients, including some of the organic products.
Better than the rest but still had negative effects
March 20, 2014
Long long ago (2000 - 2002) I tried, with about 6 months in between each one:Costco's Kirkland Signature reg. fish oilCostco's Kirkland Signature Concentrate fish oilSpectrum Essentials Spectrum Fish OilDr. Weil's Fish OilEvery single one - even Dr. Weil's - caused my face to break out into huge purple cysts (not acne) around my nose.UPDATE: Unfortunately even these Nutrigold Triple Strength Omega-3 Gold eventually had a negative effect on my skin. I started to break out in a typical type acne and then small cysts. Bummer.I wish I knew why this happens to me. I can only imagine what it's possibly doing inside me.I think it is some toxin that's not being removed. ??So... I purchased Spectrum Essentials Prenatal DHA, 200 mg. of NON-fish Algal oil, and it! gives me headaches.I give up!

Didn't Work
March 30, 2017
Used these for 4 months and I didn’t notice any change. I bought these in order to control my cholesterol level and promote heart health. My recent visit to the doctor proved that nothing was happening from using of these pills. I was enraged because I was on auto delivery for something that wasn’t giving me results. I now use Omega Plus – 4x Strength Complete Fish Oil Supplement with Omega 3’s. Really pleased with the coating of these fish oil softgels - I would never even guess that there was fish oil inside. Quality is good - I feel the difference. Well-pleased.

Once Loyal Customer
December 23, 2016
I've been ordering this brand of fish oil for a few years, and up until now have been mostly satisfied. Wondering if the formula changed when they changed the packaging? Never have previously had "fish burps" with this brand and am not enjoying them now. The smell of these pills is absolutely putrid. And I'm breaking out, something that had also never happened before. I paid the premium recently for the redesigned package as this is a brand I've trusted previously. I'll eat the $50-something cost, toss these, and look for something else.
Went bad before I could finish them
September 13, 2016
When I first started taking these (one capsule twice a day) they had no smell nor after burp. However, before I could finish the bottle, I noticed that the pills began to smell fishy and I began to have fish burps. I believe they started going bad before I could finish them. Of course this was past the 30 day return policy so it was a waste. Disappointing.
High dose of EPA/DHA, but they hurt my stomach
July 16, 2015
I am a huge advocate of supplementing with quality fish oil and I was super excited to try this line out because of a great review I read on LabDoor. With 1000mg of combined EPA/DHA per pill (According to LabDoor, there is 1140mg in each pill) I was happy about only having to take one pill 2-3 times a day. I workout 5-6 days a week weightlifting, sprinting, running, HIIT, a lot of stuff so I have a bit more inflammation than the average person so I need more EPA/DHA. All of that said, I could not stand the bloating and paaaaainful gas (super stinky too) that I had while taking this supplement. After a month of cutting out various foods and not getting any relief, I decided to stop taking this supplement. Within two days, the gas was gone. After a week I started taking one pill in the morning, but the intestinal distress was back. While I'm certain that it helped with inflammation, it wasn't worth the gas.
Disappointed, Fishy taste (perhaps bad batch...but being my first, will also be my last)
April 26, 2015
I was disappointed in this product. I don't experience any issue with fishy burps/aftertaste later on, but there is a very definite (though mild) fishy taste when I take these pills. I've taken several other brands of fish oil pills over the years, and have never had a problem with fishy taste or aftertaste/burps, so I don't think I'm particularly sensitive. After searching the reviews, I see a lot of other people claiming no taste issues, so perhaps I got a bad batch...but I don't intend to buy another bottle to find out. Given the high cost, I've been tolerating it, but once the bottle is done, I'll be moving on to another brand....
If you suffer from GERD or have frequent heartburn, you may want to avoid
May 1, 2014
I have had "Heartburn" or GERD for most of my life and have been able to manage the symptoms quite well with careful consideration of my diet. I have been using another Omega-3 product without any pain or "burn" for years. However, when I switched to this product I experienced extreme heartburn immediately. I'm not sure what they put in these capsules that would cause such a reaction, but unfortunately for me, I cannot use this product. After reading some other reviews, it seems that my symptoms are not unique. Have a look at some of the other lower-range reviews and you'll see that many people have similar reactions. It's really great that the Nutrigold has an excellent amount of Omega-3's, but in my case spending more money on a better product is the way to go. Hopefully, they manufacturer can nail down what is causing extreme pain for some customers, because, if they could I would purchase it again because the price is so great. Good luck Nutrigold!
First Bottle Great, This Bottle Gross
April 14, 2014
My first bottle was great, no fishy smell or taste. My second bottle (3 months later) is completely different. It smells horrible and tastes pretty bad. Last week I couldn't even get it down so I stopped using it.I've been feeling sick to my stomach and food makes me feel nauseous most of the day. Since I've stopped taking this bottle of fish oil that has gone away and I have my appetite back. Makes me wonder if the bad small, taste and sick feeling are all related?

Not as fresh.

What not as fresh as purchasing local.
Promotion misleading for a superior product. WHY?
March 9, 2015
The quality of the supplement is excellent. HOWEVER, it is not 1000 mg of Omega 3s. It is only 690 mg.Promoting this product as 1000mg is seriously misleading!
All stuck together.

Pills were all stuck together when they arrived. The few that I was able to pry off were great. No fish burps. Too bad won't purchase again.
allergic reaction
March 21, 2014
I used to use Nordic Naturals in the liquid form (strawberry flavor) and I had NO problems. However, when I switched to this pill form I got very itchy and w/i a 2 month period I had a spotty rash on my leg. My doc said that sometimes certain fish oils will cause this reaction. I stopped used this product and I was fine. I assume, it is the mix of what type of fish oil they use, or perhaps the concentration. I am now using another brand and I have had no issues. Nordic is a good brand, just something is this blend was not good for me. just a heads up.
my problem with this item
August 15, 2013
No where on the description of this item does it say "consult with your physician if you are allergic to iodine". I cannot use it because I am allergic and have an anaphylaxis reaction. So here it sits in my house. I should return it but haven't gotten that far as of yet. I never would have purchased this if it would have said that. Maybe it does and I just missed it but I don't think so
Genererally a great product, great price. however I would reco the 1200mg tabs more so.
March 27, 2013
I have never before had issues with these purchases, however this time the order was delivered 4 days late. And with the hot days we've been having I'm worried that the gel tabs are okay and not spoiled. They were all lumped together and stuck to one another. If they are spoiled, I will return them.

It's definitely been effective, and I would happily continue taking it, except for one problem: They've been jacking up the cost consistently, and it's practically doubled in price every time I've bought it, every 3-4 months, over the last year. When i first started taking this, it was $18 a bottle, and it was a good, affordable buy. Then it was $32, and I was like "well, it works, so I guess it's worth it."Then it was $49, and I spent almost an hour looking for a cheaper alternative before resigning myself to buying it again, for lack of other options. Now it's $80. That's simply too much and I refuse to be taken for a ride by these excessive price hikes any further. I don't care if I have to swallow 5x as many pills in lower concentrations at this point, it's just not worth the cost for this one. Shame on the manufacturers and sellers for their abusive pricing tactics to corner the market, get people hooked, and abuse their newfound monopoly.EDIT: Since a lot of people responding to this looking for alternatives: I settled on Sports Research Triple Strength 1250mg fish oil which is also available here on Amazon at a more reasonable price.
Watch out for rancid oil
May 31, 2016
I've used this Omega 3 supplement for years, however, recently the bottles I have received have a strong fishy smell (almost rancid). I returned the first bottle where I noticed the smell, but the replacement bottle had the same issue. There are numerous articles on the web that talk to the potential health issues that can be caused by taking oxidized fish oil. I will be finding another brand.
Rancid smell, bad product
May 4, 2016
I have ordered this product a few times, this is the second time I have gotten a bad bottle. They made me pretty sick, putting my nose in the bottle I realize why I was sick. It smelled bad. Lesson learned, always smell the bottle and not order from this company again

Only change was indigestion and discomfort, even when taken with meals. Bulk of the pills will never be taken
wrong product sent twice
March 22, 2016
So i have ordered this several times and purchase from Amazon weekly and love the experience. The product is fine, but twice this week I have ordered the 1000mg as displayed and only received the 690 mg bottle so I have to send it back again. SO disappointing and inconvenient and I still don't have the product.
Pills stuck together in bottle, inseparable
August 18, 2015
Nearly all the pills in the bottle were stuck together. Living in Colorado, a virtual desert with persistent 10% humidity, this should be a near impossibility however these pills managed to do it somehow.Returned
