Much better build quality than the cheap versions out there
September 11, 2017
Much better build quality than the cheap versions out there. Bought 1 of each and the cheap one did not work out of the box (we have an older model of that one that does work but is very finicky). Decided to get a more expensive version and thus far, it has worked flawlessly for my son who is a videographer and uses this daily. Only had for about 4 weeks, but it has been stress tested.
Well made, fast download Worth the $$$
April 22, 2017
Quickest download of photos ever! This is worth it's weight in gold as far as I am concerned.I recently purchased a camera with the CF memory card slot. What to do? A photographer friend recommended this and I tried it. WOW!It is compact, well made and has that wonderful USB 3.0. It fits easily into my camera bag for travel. What did I do without it?
Keeper!

I've had a chance to use this for a couple of high capacity film cards and I'm very impressed with the transfer rate and reliability of the this reader. I've owned several readers over the years including other Lexar Multi-card readers and so far this one is the best! It folds into itself for safe clean storage and packs away nicely when I need to take it on the road with me.
Works with USB3.0, 64/128GB card (MicroSD for mobile phones or SD for cameras)
January 12, 2017
I need a reliable card reader for transferring files between camera to PC, PC to MicroSD for my phone/tablet. I have very high capacity cards, typically 64GB and 128GB.Using my phone/tablet to transfer from phone/tablet's microSD to PC and vice versa is slower and cumbersome and worse still, the connectivity for my phone / tablet always drop out, resulted in unsuccessful file transfers.Using this to do the transfer is a breeze! It's running at 20MB/s and no dropped connections/transfers. Should have bought it ages ago... Don't save, go for 25-in-1 to use for SD and MicroSD.
Better Than the Luxar Single Slot Model
September 1, 2015
I recently purchased two Lexar SD card readers: This unit, The Professional Workflow SR2 SDHC/SDXC, and the Professional USB 3.0 Dual-Slot Reader LRW400CRBNA. I initially had the dual-slot reader first, installed on a Windows 7 machine, and was very pleased with it. But I recently added one of the little Intel NCU bricks running Windows 10, I wanted another SD reader, and the Workflow SR2 was available on Prime Now in my area (who can pass up one hour delivery?). Having now used both units, I much prefer the dual-slot model. It's not that I like the second slot - I don't even use it - nor is one model faster than the other - they are equally fast. The determining factor is that when the NCU comes back from being asleep, Windows doesn't recognize the SR2 version unless it already has an SD card inserted. Once the PC is awake, you can try jamming an SD card in there after the fact, but it won't do any good; Windows 10 won't recognize it. The dual-slot model doesn't have this problem; every time I insert an SD card, it's recognized. I also noticed on both Windows 7 and 10 that when I bring up the dual-slot model using the "Remove Hardware and Eject Media" applet, you're not ejecting the dual-slot reader itself, but rather the SD card that is inserted in it. So both models are good, both are fast, but this unit, the Lexar Professional USB 3.0 Dual-Slot Reader LRW400CRBNA, certainly has an edge in terms of convenience.
Favorite Card Reader so far!!
June 12, 2015
So far, my favorite card reader.I've been shooting professionally for 25 years, and using card readers since the Nikon D1. Compact Flash cards and readers are becoming scarce, as SD is now more the norm. But pro bodies still have CF cards, including my D4.As my old one was only USB 2, i figured it was time for an upgrade. Tried another USB 3 card reader, and it failed after 2 months (pin bent in the CF card slot), so went in search again. There are varied reviews on this Lexar reader, but upon closer inspection, it seems there are at least 3 models of this reader (that all look the same externally). The one i got is model # LRW400CRBNA, with a 2015 date on the box. This 400 series i think is the latest at the time i am writing this.It is indeed USB 3, with a usb3 cord as well, that inputs into the back of the device. I like that it has an interchangable cord, and comes with one.I can swap other devices using the same cord--such as my Pioneer external BR burner, another great product:http://www.amazon.com/Portable-External-CyberLink-Software-BDR-XD05/dp/B00HSHLZJ8/ref=sr_1_8?ie=UTF8&qid=1434128497&sr=8-8&keywords=pioneer+bluray+writerIt has a great form factor, as the shell can enclose and protect itself. It stays open very well in use. When closed, the buttons on the side pop open the clamshell--this is very sensitive, almost like a mousetrap, and snaps open! Not a big deal, but kind of surprised me how sensitive it was.It can download TWO CARDS at ONCE--my main reason for purchase. So you can put a CF card and SD card and upload them both simultaneously. It is much easier to put in the CF card first, as it is on the bottom. It is VERY FAST at READING both cards. This of course, is dependent on your computer, usb ports, etc. But its the fastest reader i have ever used (other than other formats, such as the Sony XQD).It has a nice padded rubber bottom that grips relatively well and stays in place. Seems trivial, but its nice.As it only has 2 cards formats, it doesnt use a gazillion drive letters on your computer like some of those readers with 10 or more formats. If you only need SD and/or CF, this is the reader for you. I dont have or care for any of those other weird formats. Of course, you can just use a SD card adapter if you need to put in a MicroSD card. The device was recognized immediately on my two computers, with no need to download drivers or install software. WHEW, what a relief--No crappy proprietary software to put on my machines. It just works well. Reads cards from every camera ive put in it so far (Nikon D4, D7000, D300s, Fuji XT1, etc) with no glitches.Couldnt be happier to have something work well, with NO HASSLES.I will update if i ever have a problem, or if the product fails. Thanks for reading, hope this has been of help to you!

Excellent memory card - worth every penny
May 30, 2017
Man, this was pricey. But worth it because it's like an insurance plan for my images. HAHA I use this as a back up card in my two card reader Nikon D800 camera. Images are saved to both my SD card and this CF card so that the images are backed up if one card fails. I always purchase SanDisk Extreme PRO cards for my camera as they work fast and cohesively with my camera. Fortunately, (knock on wood) I haven't had any lost images or corrupted cards while using this brand of card.
Great quality, fast card from SanDisk.
May 22, 2017
I needed a CF-card for my Canon 7D Mark II camera, which I recently purchased. I only trust SanDisk Memory cards anymore, even if the price is higher than other brands. I had some bad luck with other brand cards, even a highly popular brand SD card in the past. This is the first CF-Card that I have ever needed, but since I have never had a problem with SanDisk in the past, I chose this. I have their products in my 3 tablets, my smart phones and cameras. I will get another one when this one gets full, rather than format it, and keep it as a backup for my pictures.
Big capacity only matched by rock-solid reliability
July 1, 2016
This is the third one of these I've purchased, because this brand and size (SanDisk 128 GB Extreme Pro) is the most (PC & Mac with various readers) universally compatible part I've found on the market, plus it lasts more than one "shoot," and works 100%. The same cannot be said about some of their competitors. I have 3 Canon camera bodies that take CF cards, and now I don't have to fuss around anymore, because they all have this same huge card, I know they work, and won't fill up right away. I can't ask for more than that.
Great, super-fast card
November 24, 2015
Great card I stepped up to this from 8GB 30 MB/s CF and 32GB 80MB/s sd cards (which seemed to have similar performance in use). Compared to those 2 cards this transformed both Canon 1d IV and my 5d mkIII. On the 1D IV I have not hit my buffer limit and it clears nearly instantly. Shooting motorsports this lets me hit every car I want to using high speed frame rate on the opening lap AND have time to review my images while I'm waiting for them to come around again. On the 5dIII I am more likely to hit the buffer (still a rare occasion), but it clears quickly, again giving me a chance to review images while waiting for the cars to come around again. With my old cards sometimes the buffer hadn't even cleared by the start of the second lap. If you shoot action (or video) This (or another cards of similar speed) is one of the best investments you can make - It can literally add new life to older gear!As for the capacity I do like not having to change cards frequently, although with such a fast card I have found myself taking more photos during a session, and there is always that "all your eggs in one basket" issue should the card get lost or camera stolen with a days shooting still in it.
Great Product
June 23, 2015
Just purchased a Canon 7D Mk II and I needed a faster CF card that would allow for the 10FPS photo burst of the camera. As I always download my camera daily when traveling, not because of space needs, but I like to get my images backed up as soon as possible. The space is more than sufficient for all of my shooting and I take a lot of photos especially round my grandkids when I use my camera's 10FPS burst shooting mode. It performs it's function fast and well. That is the true test. I would buy this product again, but it appears I won't have to.
Works as Advertised!
March 5, 2014
I received this card the other day and was curious how it would perform in my Canon 5D Mark III, so I tested it against some of my other high speed cards. Obviously you are paying a premium for the write speed, so I wanted to make sure I got what I paid for, so to speak. Here's what I came away with:Camera Settings-Canon 5D Mark III with battery grip - 2 fully charged batteries (grip doesn't matter)-Freshly in-camera formatted CF cards-ISO 100, 1/8000s, body cap (so f/0, manual focus)-ALO, High ISO NR, vignette removal, CA correction OFF-RAW-High Speed DriveNote: I realize that the body cap photos are all black and real photos will be larger and slow the camera more, but I think that this is the only way to have a 100% reproducible test.Test-Depress shutter fully until the camera slows-Wait for buffer write to finish-Press image review - look at # of images, subtracting the extra frame that indicated the buffer was fullResults-Sandisk 16GB (SDCFX-016G-A61) UDMA 60MB/s read/write speed rated: 19 frames-Lexar 32GB 1000x (LCF32GCTBNA1) UDMA7 - 150MB/s read / 95MB/s write speed rated: 23 frames-Sandisk 32GB Extreme Pro (SDCFXP-032G-X46) UDMA6, 90MB/s write speed rated: 25 frames-Sandisk 64GB Extreme Pro (SDCFXPS-064G-X46) 160MB/s read / 150MB/s write speed rated: 35 framesThe new card isn't quite a 50% boost over the previous generation, but it's close, and being able shoot at 6fp for at least 5 seconds straight in a 5DIII is excellent. I'm sure the 1DX, D4, and other cameras would also benefit from the card.

Great cards great price
July 4, 2017
So much faster and reliable than SD. I am a professional photographer and use these on a daily basis. This card is a great value and increases the frames you can capture significantly compared to their SD counterparts. Additionally, I've had several high end SD cards fail me before, but never experienced that with the CF cards. Definitely the way to go if you need more speed and reliability.
Great purchase! Just buy them if you need them...don't sufffer regret!
January 7, 2017
Pretty simple...works as stated and I have had no problems with these CF cards. I use them mostly for photos. With a few of these (as well as some 32 GB and 8 GB cards ) I never worry about running out of space...something I have experienced in the past. I have never had a failure with any of my Lexar cards. I have also used them to do video with my Canon 5D had no issues. Video can eat a ton of space quickly so these larger cards always give me comfort that I wont' miss the key moment(s). Went small and cheap years ago and missed some videos and photos with my sons. I don't go cheap or small any more.
GREAT CARD-HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!
August 22, 2016
This is an excellent CompactFlash card. I only use either Sandisk or Lexar since I am a professional photographer and I cannot trust my images to off-brand media. I first purchased one of these 1066x cards to test it out. The transfers were very fast and without any issues. I just purchased a two-pack of these cards as I really need more than one for my work. One tip...I prefer to use smaller cards such as this 32 instead of 64 or 128 mb cards. The reason is that in the unlikely event that a card fails, it will not have as many images on it as a larger card. But in my 47 years as a pro photographer, with perhaps 20 years shooting digital, I had only one card failure. That was early on, and most of the images were recoverable using software. In any event, I highly recommend these cards. One more thing...as with any memory, the prices vary almost daily. I picked up a two pack today because the cost was as low as I've seen it. Keep your eye on the prices and then be ready to purchase when the price drops.
Reliable card-after-card.
July 1, 2016
I use these in my canon full-frame camera bodies - 5DIII and 5Dsr. I have yet to have one go bad or lose images. They have worked well from -15F to 115F. (The camera battery/body often start to get flaky below about zero, though.)Transfer rate both into the chip, and from chip to computer are excellent, and at or above ratings.I have more than 10 of these (or earlier versions) and I have never had a problem. Period.
Performance that keeps up with my D810
August 10, 2015
Finally, one fast enough for my camera. Since buying a Nikon D810, I was disappointed that the camera buffer took so long to write to the installed CF cards. The large file size from this camera seemed to be the issue. I bought this 1066x card, the fastest CF card on the market (that I know of) and now the buffer clears so quickly that I don't worry about turning the camera off prematurely. Also, I have enough capacity to shoot all day with no risk of filling it. Don't forget to download and activate the image rescue application that comes with this. If you lose the code on the enclosed paperwork, image rescue sells for about $35.
Very Fast CF card, doesn't seem to be faster than the 1000x but that's ok
April 14, 2014
So I got this card and it was immediately apparent that it was faster than my older 400x cards. I guess that is to be expected. Anyway, I started to wonder just how fast it was. I guess it's pretty new, there were no official reviews on the internet of this cardI did find this thread on the Fred Miranda Forum. [...]. Unfortunately there was no data available for this particular 1066x card. So, I decided I'd add my own. I think the frames recorded plus this data gives a clear picture of the card's performance.I have 2 cards. I'm gonna run the test 2 more times with the other card.********************************************OKI did 4 more tests on the 2nd card but changed up the parrameters in the 2nd 2 tests.155 shots 3.23GB RAW 12FPS Avg. 5.16 FPS 107.67MB/sec148 shots 3.11GB RAW 12FPS Avg 4.9 FPS 103.67MB/sec312 shots 1.57GB JPEG 12FPS Avg. 10.4 FPS 52.33MB/sec324 shots 1.63GB JPEG 14FPS, Mirror Locked Avg. 10.8 FPS 54.33MB/secThe interesting thing was, Jpeg @ 12FPS, It didn't sound like I ever got off the buffer but Jpeg @ 14fps it got into the buffer hard at about 10 seconds in. but it still made more pictures in 30 seconds.I also see file transfer rates from the card to an SSD or RAID0 at around 115MB/sec.Please keep in mind these are real world benchmarks, not lab tests. None the less, if I reproduced the test on the FM forum reasonably well it seems the write speed in a 1DX is no better than the 1000x which the tester managed 160 shots in 30 seconds. Nothing wrong with that as the 1066x is just the successor to the 1000x and it seems we are reaching the maximum of the CF interface with these cards.

Terrific
November 3, 2017
Happy as can be! This is exactly what I wanted and it was delivered quickly and efficiently with no delay. The real reason I purchased Lexar is because they offer an image rescue software with their Flash Cards which if you were to purchase the software, would cost the same as the Flash Card. I really wanted the image rescue software . . . the Flash Card was a bonus.
The choice for high-speed DSLRs with good values
October 9, 2017
While I have known for some time that Lexar produces good memory cards, I have not used Lexar until I got this. I got it from Amazon because it was selling significant cheaper than any other channels available in Hong Kong. I use it on my 5D Mark III and it improves continuous shooting buffer: I can take slightly more RAW shots before the camera slows down. 64GB is enough for a day of shooting; if I am on a trip for some weeks, I will back up the photos with a PC/2nd SD card slot on the camera and clear the CF card every day.I recommend it to users of DSLRs with high-speed CF slots. This is probably the card I am still using when I upgrade my gear to 1 series in the future.

Only brand I use, top notch card
November 9, 2016
Would I buy again? YESI have purchased several cards.Lexar support and service is top notchRead and write speeds are great. In my 1dx, I can rest on the trigger until the camera buffer hits. Which is by far more frames than I need.7D and 5D3, they work flawlessly in.I have not had one fail, I own 6, all which I've had for a varying time frames. I generally shoot run and gun style, I can be hard on gear and shoot a lot in hard environments, rain, dust, Sand, dirt, dry, cold, hot.I had a 8gb 300x card die after 5 or 6 years of service. I messaged Lexar about it and they shipped me a replacement in 3 days, They didnt just replace it, they upgraded it to the 8 Gb 800x at no charge.

If you need the speed this is it.
March 31, 2014
This review is from my perspective as a photographer. So there are times when "it's happening" (I shoot mostly concerts) and I cringe when the buffer on my camera fills and the shutter stalls and I see "that shot" being missed. If you have a camera that can take advantage of UDMA 7 (I shoot a Canon 5D Mark III and it can) and you need to make sure you get "that shot", then spend the dough and get this card.It writes to the card fast enough that you can shoot full speed continuously - forever.Spending thousands on a better lens doesn't mean a thing if the shutter doesn't click when you need it to.

good reader
September 7, 2017
The data transfer rate is also fast, which saves overall usage time. This reader has a structure in which the insertion hole needs to be lifted up to insert a memory card. However, such a design is a disadvantage that if a memory card is inserted while the memory card is inserted, the memory card is likely to be broken. (In fact, I was in danger of breaking the memory card by mistake.)
This works great for my needs and I don't need to hook ...
February 13, 2017
Difficult to find CF readers a the brick and mortar stores. This works great for my needs and I don't need to hook the camera up for each download. The only issue that I had was the supplied cable did not work. Tried it a couple of times without luck. Pulled the one I use to connect my camera, also USB 3.0 and that did work.
True USB 3.0 Lexar
August 4, 2016
Lexar. What can I say? I don't use their cards because penney for return they are over priced. Photographers working for a company can buy those. You cannot beat their readers though. Not only is it true USB 3.0, the cable is TRUE USB 3.0 at both ends! My Sandisk Extreme cards scream through.
Best USB 3 Multi-Card reader I have used
March 22, 2016
This is my second Lexar reader. I have found them to be one of the best I have used. I like the low profile and I use many different formats. I regularly use the CF and SDHC reader for large video file transfers. The USB 3 device is plugged directly into the computer. I have used them on a USB powered hub and found the performance lacking. Still looking for a USB 3 hub that maintains the speed of direct connection.I highly recommend this as a USB Multi-card reader. I can't think of a con for this version of Lexar reader. Well built device and performs at USB 3 speeds, at least when directly connected to the motherboard.
Works for my needs
February 17, 2014
This is external card reader I have used. It suits my needs, which is to pull pictures from an SD card and Compact Flash cards. The built-in card slots on my Dell desktop are a bit finicky, don't always work (I have found that to be the case on every desktop I've had). This Lexar isn't always picked up by Adobe Lightroom for some reason (doesn't always trigger a read when it's already plugged in and I insert a card) but that might be Lightroom, not sure. Sometimes I have to disconnect the USB device then reconnect it and then Lightroom recognizes it and sees the card. Could also be something to do with the USB port or the computer itself. In any case, it's still very handy. My one complaint, if you'd call it that, is that the letting over the slots is so tiny and I don't use it enough to always remember which slot is for which card. I think there is enough room that the slot labels could have been a little bigger so that they were readable. Overall it's a nice-looking piece of gear, I like that is closes so that the slots don't get dusty, and it's done what I need it to do.
Great Legacy
March 25, 2013
Fast. As a professional photographer. I've gone through a lot of card readers. Lexar has held up the best. Last one quit after 3 years. The new replacement had a bad slot for the SDHC card. Amazon is great at replacing defective products. Defects happen. So I'm crossing my fingers and hoping it was just a bad reader and not bad quality control from LEXAR. 4 star due to the bad reader slot. Reports of cases falling apart concerns me a lot. Excited about USB 3.0 finally reaching the market.

I took more than 1000 pictures while vacationing at Glacier National Park using the RAW file structure and only used about 60 gigabytes. RAW files are very large data files compared to JPEG, yet I did not come close to filling up the CF disk. Worth the $.
Great card that I'll keep buying
May 31, 2015
I've bought Sandisk cards for all of my cameras, both SD and CF. For the type of camera I have, 16GB stores ~450 RAW photos which works well for me. If it stored any more photos, I'd be more concerned about lost data if the card were corrupt. However, with each card you get a free 1 year subscription to data recovery software that, unfortunately I had to use for an older CF card, but it recovered the data without a problem. The card has kept up with the writes when shooting bursts. I've yet to test with extended burst rates, but it's done the job for me so far.
Great product
May 23, 2015
I like it but I don't think it is compatible with the Nikon D300 it sometimes freezes up . But while it's working it takes great pictures . But it doesn't take from the fact that this is a great product .
Good card but not what's pictured in the ad.
January 18, 2015
The card is Sandisk quality. I use it for my Canon 5D MKIII. It's a fast card but my only gripe with it is that I did not receive the card that's pictured in the ad. The card I received does not have the "Gold SanDisk Extreme Pro" header on top. It's all black and looks generic.

BAD CHIP!!
December 16, 2016
Used this chip on a couple of small shoots and only formatted it once .. went to shoot this morning and it was dead! Got it July 6 of this year. Lots of money for a chip that dies like it did. And if you look at the other reviews you will see that I am not the only one with this problem.I emailed a complaint about this chip to Lexar .. they got right back to me and gave me an RMA to return it. If it's bad they will replace it. I guess I can't beat that
As advertised (well... Sort of)

I just received mine with the seal on the box tampered/opened though nothing was missing and the cards do perform as it should based on my test. Seeing the box with a broken seal made me suspicious that the product might have been compromised. Well fortunately not.And I hope Amazon just updates the photo in this ad. Was a bit shocked to see a different product design. I just found out Lexar has a new sticker design for their cards.
First one died, second one works great. Worth the buy!
November 8, 2015
I purchased this card for my 7D Mark II and the first one I received died after shooting about 2 hours of video. It died after I placed in to a card reader. Amazon replaced the item no extra cost, and the new one is working perfectly. (Now unloading directly from the camera - actually faster since it's USB 3.0.) Shooting at 10 FPS, this card handles the speed with no issues.Worth the buy. 4/5 because I received a lemon.

October 11, 2015
Most people think; CF card are not fast enough compared to XQD cards for the Nikon D4s. Well I must say, this is not true any more, as this CF card gives me 72 lossless 14 bit shots in one burst, which is just 6 shots short compared to the XQD Lexar x1333 card (78 shots burst), just about 10% less only, but also with a lower speed specification (x1066 vs x1333). For most people this difference is too little as to be of any importance. With Jpeg's both cards get 200 photos in one continous burst, the maximum possible.

WORKS, BUT NOT GREAT!
July 14, 2017
This is the first card reader that has issues with the SD card interface. By this I mean that the connection between the card reader / card and the computer is often severed or lost-- resulting in an error message on the desk drop screen saying something to the effect of "the device was not put away properly". This requires one to re-insert the SD card, etc. I'm not sure if this does damage to the SD cards or not, but it is highly irritating.
Usually A Good Brand & Reader, I Got A Dud
May 18, 2017
This card reader usually works great. I had one before, but lost it on a shoot. And I like Lexar as a brand, but I got a bad one that just wouldn't read any card I put in it. I returned it and bought it on B&H. Works great now. Sometimes Amazon products are sketchy, especially for camera gear. I give this reader 5 stars, but only 3 here because of the hassle of having to buy it somewhere else cuz I got a dud.
Design ok
May 7, 2017
I still have not found card readers that I liked as much as the Lexar 800 Firewire readers I bought years ago. I do not like this pop up design. The plastic seems flimsy. But I only bought it because it does have multiple card reading options which is nice.
Reads my Lexar 64 GB SD card, DOES NOT read my Lexar 64 GB CF card
January 30, 2017
Reads my Lexar 64 GB SD card, DOES NOT read my Lexar 64 GB CF card.At first, I thought it was a fluke, my late 2011 MacBook Pro would not read my CF cards at first and I assumed that because it was a USB 2.0, that it was not backwards compatible. After visiting many reviews that states that it should be, I contacted customer care and they directed me to download a firmware upgrade. After I did that and restarted my computer. I tried it again and this time I also inserted an SD Card and my computer recognized it right away.I pulled and reinserted my SD card and my computer recognized it each time, my CF card was inserted the whole time. So this reads my SD cards (I hope).I'm on a job in Africa and this situation now isn't ideal for me. I must mention that when I first used this reader with my cards back in the states on my brand new 27" iMac, it worked just fine, so I didn't think to test it on my older MacBook pro.I'm wondering if anyone has a similar issue and how did they resolve it?
Not as fast as it could be
June 18, 2013
Needed USB 3.0 card reader for CF cards and micro SD cards. Got this card reader after reading poor reviews of other Lexar, Transcend, and Kingston products. Ended up using this side by side with a friend's Transcend TS-RDF8W with a Retina MacBook Pro, OS 10.8.4. The Transcend would sustain 90 MB/s whereas the Lexar would only sustain up to 50 MB/s. Real world translation, a 32 GB card would take 15 minutes with the Lexar and about 8 minutes with the Transcend. I am buying two of the Transcend card readers myself and plan on using them as my primaries with the Lexar as backup.
Super-fast uploads, crappy exterior
March 8, 2013
If my review were based 100% on the job this card reader does, it would be 5 stars. I've used the micro sd, the CF, and the SDXC card slots and they all have worked beautifully. I shoot video with a GoPro Hero 3 on a micro sd, so I have some HUGE files I need to upload from the card and it's always incredibly fast. 4 or 5GB can be uploaded in a just a few minutes. If i'm not actually uploading, just viewing files from the card, it has great playback (if i try to preview videos being uploaded directly from the camera, i get very jolty video and SLOOOW scrolling through pictures).HOWEVER, the review is on the product as a whole and the case is an absolute piece of crap. It had been out of the box for about 2 uploads when I picked it up and the "buttons" on one of the side's was missing. Turns out the bottom plate (which has all the serial number and info) had fallen off which makes it incredibly easy for the buttons to fall out. Want to know how hard it is to find a translucent piece of plastic about the size of a large paper clip? It's hard. Once I finally found it, it was only moderately challenging to figure out how to put it back (but easy to do once I figured it out). I found the bottom plate and it was sticky with some adhesive and I put it back on and vigorously tried to push it back on. It stayed on for a whole matter of minutes.I spent probably 2 weeks fighting with the exterior and nearly losing buttons until I broke down and decided I liked the reader well enough to tape the bottom of the reader on so that I wouldn't lose the bottons or have to deal with trying to get the buttons back on.I like the reader's function but hate that I have a pretty expensive reader that is quite literally taped together and came defective enough that it needed taped from the first day out of the box. It's quite disappointing.

Only saying it's okay because this is a replacement for one that completely failed and ate my photography job. It wasn't old either, just failed. Wanted to try Lexar but the shipping was 2-3 weeks and I needed to replace the one I lost faster. So crossing fingers. To be fair, I have had several of these cards and the one that did fail was the first......but that still is annoying.

Great Brand but this 1066 doesn't outperform my Lexar 800's in 7D II
March 13, 2015
I have used Lexar and San disk for years: they are superb products --- and it about kills me to leave a neutral review here. This is the third Lexar 32GB Pro card I've bought from Amazon / Amazon this year. The first two were 800 and they work perfectly in both the Canon 7D and 7DIII bought this 1066 for the 7DII as it has fast specs and reviews greater performance --- but I saw neither in comparison to the 800's.I was really surprised and made several comparision test runs using the exact same settings --- and difference was 1 shot --- sometimes.Maybe the 800's I got were faster than usual, or this one was slower --- anyway I returned it, but I cannot say enough about the Lexar brand: Just a note --- I just bought their CF reader.
Work fine but a concerning rattle noise.
March 7, 2015
Both of these memory cards have a rattle if they are shaken slightly. Lexar says this is normal, but none of my other cards do this. They work fine and are fast, but as a "solid state" type memory, they shouldn't rattle, in my opinion. I purchased two of them and they both do it.

April 15, 2017
I was not able to make it "connect" with my Sony Vaio ( Windows 7 ), and the customer service representitive at Lexar was not able to help me get it connected either. I can use a wireless mouse and USB Thumb Drives on both of my 2.0 USB ports without any problems, and use an external hard drive in the 3.0 USB port, so I know the problem is not with my computer. I'll try a different brand/device from what Amazon offers. VERY disappointing though.....

March 29, 2017
Unfortunately the CF card reader stopped working after about a week. The SD reader still works. This is the second one I've bought. The first one worked for about 6 mos, or so. I typically like Lexar stuff, but these readers just aren't reliable
Defective - Issue Resolved, but a Nuisance Nonetheless
March 18, 2017
Received a defective item. CF Reader didn't work. This seems to be a common problem among these sorts of devices (I've received 2 defective CF readers in the past ~month). I used a Lexar CF card in a Lexar reader - you'd think a person would get some sort of karmic bonus from the gods of commerce or something, but no such luck.2 stars instead of 1 just because the refund/return process was quick and painless to the extent that those things are ever "quick" and/or "painless". At any rate, at least they made it quick and easy to rectify the matter.
2nd one I've bought did not work right out of the gate
March 6, 2017
The card reader isn't reading my cards at all. I have to use another card reader to extract the files from the card. I had this exact product from 2012 and it lasted 4 years... But I still have a Sandisk Firewire 800 card reader from 2009 that is still kicking... So maybe I look elsewhere for a new dependable card reader. The only reason I'll give it 2 stars is because I really like Lexar SD and CF cards

I am very displeased with this product. First attempt to deliver to my office was Friday 12-23 at 6:32 PM. That meant I needed a card reader for the weekend holiday. I went to my local MicroCenter store and purchased an Inland USB 3.0 card reader for $9.99 +tax. This package arrived today. This evening I decided to test both products side by side. I tried to copy two types of music media formats. First, I copied 26 song FLAC files that were 993 MB from my Samsung SSD external drive. The Inland took 1:13.45 minutes and the Lexar that was more than twice the price took 1:22.19 minutes. Then I tested 85 songs which was exactly 1GB. Again the $10 device out preformed the $22.95 Lexar, 1:19.48 vs 1:28.81. Very disappointing. I gave 1 star for a great design and 1 star for a nice long USB cable. I am deciding if I will return this due to lack of performance.
Low-quality, not worth the money
December 4, 2015
I bought this because I was looking for a quality USB card reader, but unfortunately there is nothing about this product to distinguish it from any of the dozens of other USB card readers out there. Construction quality is pretty bad and feels like it is made out of the same cheap plastic as any other card reader you might find at Walmart. SD cards don't slide in very easily, and it feels like I'm going to break something when I insert one. Basically, if you're looking for a high quality card reader you might want to keep looking. That being said, transfer speeds are decent but didn't seem to be any faster than a regular USB 2.0 card reader even though this claims to use the speed of USB 3.0. That's just my own opinion after comparing it so your mileage may vary, but all in all this card reader is quite overpriced for what you actually get.

August 29, 2016
7 months in (and likely around 3K photos taken on card) and the disks are having issues. I transfer my photos into lightroom and some of the photos are whited out like its a staticky tc screen. It's frustrating to have random images that are no good and I worry that at some point all or a lot of the images will start doing that!
Failed on first use. Poor customer service process by SanDisk eventually replaced it.
February 23, 2015
After all the great reviews, I splurged for the ExtremePro UDMA 7 64GB. The first time I shot any videos, 3 of 5 wouldn't transfer from my Canon 5Dm2 (using the same approach I've used successfully for 5 yrs - connect camera to USB cord). The camera reported: Err 02 "There is a problem with external media. Replace external media."I called SanDisk support and they wanted me to reformat the card and "try it again". I've never had a media failure of any sort with this camera over 5 yrs and was unwilling to take the risk. I finally convinced them that I wanted a replacement card. Then I was told that I needed to mail in the card and after the received it they would send out another. Total time, 7-10 days. I asked why they couldn't send the card immediately and charge my credit card if I failed to return bad one. The tech said he would "escalate to corporate" and they would call me back. Long story short - after several calls, the replacement card eventually showed up after 12 days! (even though they sent it "immediately").Upon arrival, I tested both cards (bad one and replacement). The bad one failed again on relatively small videos (75 MB) and the new one worked perfectly - as expected. I wasted a lot of time, frustration and some LOST VIDEO MEMORIES. So far the replacement is working.
Bit of a nightmare.

I've been having issues with the memory card. For the price, this would about give anyone a heart attack when working on a wedding. I am learning that I must format the memory card before every shoot (which I didn't normally do with previous cards) then I still have issues once I hit my digital darkroom to upload the images.

Atypical poor quality product from Lexar
August 1, 2017
I rarely write a product review. This product is very poor. One day AFTER its allowable 30 day return, it jammed up and had a great deal of difficulty simply opening again. Also, the "dual" device doesn't read our SD cards, and rather than hassle a return, we kept it just for the 3.0 CF card reader component. But, with the additional jamming up problems and inability to read our SD cards, we consider it a sad piece of junk. I'll note that this Lexar dual card reader was being asked to handle professional Lexar cards. Also, I'll note that we have several 2.0 Lexar CF card readers and find them without problems. Have not encountered such nasty, poor quality from Lexar before.
I hope customer service is more reliable than this reader and turned out to be.

I bought this because I have Lexar cards. When connected to a USB 3.0 port, the reader disconnects every 30-40 seconds. When connected to a USB 2.0 port, it functions just fine. Other readers work just fine on the same USB 3.0 ports.
WARNING THIS WILL CORRUPT YOUR FILES!
November 23, 2015
I am a professional commercial photographer. I shoot somewhere in the neighborhood of 15k images a quarter for Nike and fortunately over the years I have learned from my mistakes to triple back up my images while I shoot. I copy to both cards in camera (Canon 1dx) and am tethered to a computer where they are stored and backed up to a G-drive (great product).Occasionally while on location or in studio I use a card reader to add another level of back up. I had my digital tech throwing away cards that kept delivering corrupt files until I realized (silly me) that the fault was with this Lexar reader. Granted, the files on the card will not always be corrupted by this reader and you can redo the process to get them again but sometimes you don't have time to check every image before you erase the card. I have included a test image to show as an example.PLEASE DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT.~Ben

This is the 4th time I've had a sandisk fail on me. I kept going back because they really do honor their warranty and I would get replacement cards pretty quickly. However, I just lost all my work from a shoot. So you're dead to me sandisk. I'll never buy another SD product again. I don't know where else to address this issue other than here - Amazon only gives me two options - review the product or archive the order. This card is bad! How did I find out? Shot a full family session with it last week, and got home to find zero images on the card. Thank GOD for dual memory slots. I then tested several other cards in my camera, at first thinking it was my camera, not the card, but they all worked just fine. I then tested the bad card in a different camera, and again - no images found on the card.I need to return this and receive a refund, but don't see an option anywhere in Amazon to do so. I'll be happy to remove negative feedback if resolved.

Transferring images to my computer is a huge pain with this card. It errors out a lot and corrupts files. I tried a complete reformat and it didn't help. I can't use it for photo shoots because it's unreliable.
Error Code half of the time

CF card gave me "ERROR CF" about half of the times that I turned my camera on. Would have to remove the card and then reinsert it, and that would only sometimes read the card. I cannot trust this CF card, which is weird because I have been shooting 2 other Dandisk Extreme Pro 2GB cards for over 8 years and never had a problem. I returned the 32GB card and ordered a different brand CF card. This one was just not reliable enough.

I want a new card immediately. This one malfunctioned and I lost photos.

I have only had this since the end of April and the the card completely stopped working. I'm livid. On vacation in Alaska and I paid way too much money for this to crap out on me especially when this is my profession and now I've lost valuable and irreplaceable photos.

Bought this for my trip to Japan and it died on me day 1. "Card cannot be read" error on my 7D. I tested it plenty before my trip, rolled high speed photo, low speed photo, and all video formats and thought it would be fine but it died right when I got to Tokyo. Returning it and sticking with the Sandisk Extreme like my other two cards...
Worst Card, Error Message when downloading
March 27, 2017
I have been using this card to shoot video since January and it's the worst. When I go to download my videos to my laptop, this card always reads as an error and I lose my work. My other card I got with my cannon from B&H has no problems at all. Never gives me an error message. Such a bummer and a waste of $60. I do NOT recommend anyone buy this company for cards.

it just died on me today after recording a 1 minute clip on my canon eos 7d, card had very low usage since i received in january 2015. never recorded more than 15 gbs per session and never filled up. so there you go, spect reliability problems down the road, contacted lexar and they wrote back telling me that my card warranty can't be honored cause the amazon reseller was not a certified lexar distribuitor.....so buyer be ware...stay away from lexar if buying a card from a non-distribuitor and from LittlePiggy_Tech.

My wife just brought this card to me where I am photographing on assignment overseas. I bought two, actually. One is fine, the other one is clearly very used and is DOA. They are only giving me just over two weeks to return it, but shipping from Africa is a month. Right this second, I only have a macro lens on me, but you can see the scratches in the attached picture...it also has a dent. This really upsets me. Ugh.
Used twice. took about 1000 pictures and it stop working.

Bought this card on Feb. Yesterday My friends and I went to DC for the cherry blossom. By the time we went back home, we took hundreds of photos with my 5d mark iii on the card but it became unreadable. I am desperate right now because all my friends' photos are in this card and it looks like they are never gonna get the beautiful pictures they liked so much. So... Thanks a lot Amazon and Lexar.P.S. I looked for help from a friend for recovering. He said the card was likely to be a counterfeit hence it's nearly impossible to recovery. I don't know if that's true or not.

Good only short term...

Used the card less than 1000 images (total of 6 shoots). reformatted in camera after every use. Card failed tonight (one year from date of purchase, but not much use)... will not buy Lexar again.
Be careful - bought two cards and BOTH caused corrupted files!
October 18, 2017
BOTH of these cards CORRUPTED my files for nearly an entire session AND a wedding!!! Not one but BOTH the CF cards I purchased. I plan to return these immediately. I've never had issues with corrupted files, but was able to pinpoint these two cards being the only problem. All my other cards continue to work just fine.
