Best portable I've ever used
November 4, 2016
Very good, sturdy music stand with adjustable tripod legs that fold up onto the main shaft for transport; an adjustable shaft setting the platform about knee height up to standing height (for a conductor or standing player or more than one player); and a broad, deep platform that tilts adjustably from nearly flat to nearly vertical. The stand is easily portable, not excessively heavy, and can be set up in about two minutes. The platform easily holds a heavy notebook or music book--no wobbling. A very good value for the money. One caution: because the adjustable joints are made of plastic, over-tightening can crack them. Simply tighten lightly and test the hold. A little should be enough.
Great quality music stand
August 8, 2016
Great quality stand for holding music books. My wife uses it while playing flute to hold her play books. The quality is super nice, strong and holds sturdy. It does not wiggle at all. No matter what surface you use, carpet or hard floor, it stays firm.We have small apartment so do not have place to keep the stand open, this works out very nice. It is easy to fold and in small foot print. We store it under the bed. It's quick and easy to open back. Its not too heavy and easy to maintain.
In short, high quality and durable generic music stand
April 12, 2016
This is a great high quality stand marketed under the generic "Musician's Gear" name. I've been using one of those wobbly umbrella type stands for 6 years and finally decided to upgrade my rig to a more sturdy stand with a music deck that can adjust flat. This makes for a better live presentation, as the stand can be set low, with the deck flat, off to my side, without blocking me or my guitar. The music deck is thin steel which should be fine for it's intended use (easily holds my large 3 ring binders of music), but note that it is bendable if it gets roughly handled (mine arrived with a slight bend from shipping, which was easily straightened with a couple of careful opposite bends - go easy to avoid over-bending). The legs, leg hinges and two nesting upright pole sections, are sturdy steel. The pinch cam in the middle that holds and adjusts the height of the upright poles is plastic, but seems thick and durable. The cam that slides over the top pole and is pinched between two metal "fins" on the rear of the deck is also plastic but seems similarly durable. One reviewer noted that his/her stand took a dive and this upper cam joint broke and he/she could not find replacement parts. Spare parts are available (see below). The 4 hand-tightening knobs are plastic over metal bolts, but also seem durable. I selected this stand after much searching because of price/quality ratio and compactness for travel. Note that this stand appears (from photos) to be virtually identical to the On Stage SM7211B Professional Grade Folding Orchestral Music Stand (the Musician's Gear model number is MG SM7211B). I searched high and low on the internet for a "Musician's Gear" website (to see if parts were available) but found nothing. It seems to be a generic brand, as the white box in which it arrived is simply marked "Conductor Stand" on the outside with no instructions, no warranty (none represented in the description) or any other sign of the Musician's Gear name. Parts for the On Stage SM7211B are available at the On Stage website and should (have not verified) fit this stand, based on similarity in photos and model numbers. The only difference I could find between the two stands was that 3 of the 4 On Stage stand knobs are a round style instead of rectangular. The deck of the Musician's Gear stand is 19 1/8" wide (at its widest point at the return lip) by 13 3/4" tall with a 2" wide return lip. The stand section when folded up for transport is 25 1/2" long. The stand and deck when apart easily fit in my Bean large boat canvas bag that I carry my music binders and guitar stand in. Very impressed with it thus far and highly recommend as an inexpensive yet durable music stand.
I love it!
February 3, 2016
I needed a sturdy and stable music stand to hold my 3-ring binder of music on a carpeted surface. This stand is perfect. It was a breeze to set up and adjust. The legs are of metal tubing, approx 1 inch in diameter, the ends covered with plastic caps. It is quite stable yet doesn't snag on the carpet. The table is of smooth metal and holds my binder easily while open. For sheet music, I use magnets to keep it from flying or sliding away. The footprint and airspace occupied by the stand is surprisingly compact, that is, it doesn't seem bulky or in the way (smallish apt). I leave it set up in front of my chair, next to my sofa and the low table I used to use for my music. I can walk by it without fear of knocking it. What a pleasure to be able to read my music without leaning way over and straining my eyes and neck!
Bought for a 9 & 10 year old but great for adults, too! Sturdy, easy to adjust and only 3 pieces to put together.
October 28, 2014
The great reviews I read were right on the money! I bought this Musician's Gear Deluxe Conductor's stand because our last travel/foldable music stand constantly fell over and had openings where the sheet music was held so it was just awful for my kids and myself to use. This conductor's stand, however is extremely sturdy, durable and easy to adjust. My younger kids can easily adjust it for sitting or standing height or anywhere in between. It comes apart in seconds for travel, is easy for transport and is only 3 pieces (but transports in 2). It has nice rubber feet to protect flooring. It's metal, so magnets work to hold sheet music if not in a binder (or you could just use music or metal clips). This stand accommodates a lot of weight with large music binders and doesn't fall over. We are very happy with this stand, and I plan to purchase a second one.
Nice and Sturdy
February 11, 2014
My kids where complaining about the rickety collapsible stand they were using. Very cheap and light. So much so that it practically toppled over when someone walked by. It was very frustrating for them. They complained and insisted on a Manhasset music stand like the ones they have at school. Problem was I wanted one that could fold up and be put in a closet when they weren’t practicing. The Musician’s Gear Deluxe Conductor Stand was the answer. Very sturdy, like a Manhasset, yet easily folds up for storage. No more complaints from my kids.

a little wobbly on the bottom trying to get the legs adjusted just right, and I hate that you have to unscrew a knob in the middle to raise and lift it. But it serves my worship team and that's what i wanted.

I got this for my granddaughter and she seems to really like it. I might have to get one for me,! I would recommend it, as it folds up nicely and can go "behind a door" which is where my granddaughter keeps hers.
So far, so good.

Overall, a good, heavy stand. Pros: it is heavy and sturdy. I have a huge, heavy notebook full of fake sheets, no problem, and I like the wide lower lip on the platen. A great price, and hooray for free shipping! Cons: All of connecting hardware. The tightening screws are large, probably reliable, but I have my doubts on those plastic collars. With a stand this heavy, why did you put plastic closures on it? One little bit of over-tightening and they are shredded. Sadly, I see it in the near future. And those are the type of custom parts you can't find to replace. How about that center rod? It's 23 inches. Take away 4 inches to anchor it, and you may not have enough for a tall person to stand and read. They could easily have made it 30 inches, it's just thin, tube steel. Overall, looks to do the job. I'll write again after some time on the job.

A very sturdy stand. It holds a 3 inch three- ring notebook FULL of music with no problem. It is equal to the other one I have that cost me $10.00 more with a great discount. I would recommend it. I knock it in and out of my car 3 to 4 times a week and other than a few scratches in the paint it takes everything I throw at it.
A stand-alone Music Stand!
November 17, 2014
My Musician's Gear Deluxe Conductor Music Stand arrived neatly packaged and in new condition. I was happy with the care MG took in packaging this product as it added a layer of protection not often seen with other similar products I've ordered from different outlets. The only thing that kind of botherd me was the product label glued on the stand that I removed. Perhaps the makers would consider putting their label in a less conspicuous place, so that the bright white label isn't highlighted as much against the black stand itself and is less noticeable to an audience. Other than that, I am very satisfied witht the stand and it has lived up to all my expectations.
Great value
September 26, 2013
If this had some clips to hold music books open, it would have been a five start item to me. Even without the clips, it works great. Much nicer than I expected for the price, so I ordered a second one. Now we have 2. One by the drum set, one for the saxophones. I may wind up ordering a 3rd since I see nothing available that's better at this price.

Nice. Good for price. A leg broke the first time my son set it up......it was easily fixed with a screw. Just not sure how long it will hold up (hoping for the best).
Functional but difficult and heavy to carry
April 5, 2015
This stand is sturdy and durable. I have a loaded 3" binder that I use religiously for bandleading that fits very nicely on the spacious flat-back top. I'm a num-nut when it comes to anything engineered, so the fact that I can easily turn knobs and assemble/reassemble the stand says a lot about the manfacturer.I love that there aren't those blessed holes on the back on the top part. We're the Mean Reds, so our binders are red, and it's great to not have a red and black polka dot effect. Very unprofessional! Instead this keeps the focus on the music, not the gear.My qualm is weight, and compression of the product for ease of travel. I ride a bike and don't drive a car. I often carpool to gigs, but if this stand, the only piece of equipment I have to bring as a singer, were less weight, or could compress small enough to fit in a bag/backpack/rear rack, I would be able to be a lot more independent, but alas. The top, because of the way it connects, can't lay completely flat, and the legs can't go smaller than 2' or so. If it came with a carry case, I might feel differently, but instead it's just a severely awkward structural design. It's also a bit heavier than I anticipated.

Was skeptical before ordering it, but for the price its a good buy. It is a little big and cannot be folded for storage. You would need to designate a spot for it but other than that its strudydoes not topple over or anything. We have placed it on a carpeted area and no issues so far. The stand has enough space to hold music books and we have kept more than one book.Over all good quality for the price.
Very sturdy construction, but a little annoying to adjust
March 1, 2015
This stand is well-built and reaches high enough for me (5'9") to comfortably use it while standing. The thing that bothers me about it is the way it adjusts. There is one hand-screw used to adjust the height, and two to adjust the top. It's rather inconvenient to adjust these with two hands available, much more so when holding an instrument. Additionally, this stand does not collapse into one piece; the top of the stand comes off and the body collapses itself.
My son's violin teacher has recommended another brand
November 18, 2014
On the plus side, it lasted for 1 year without problems. On the minus side, there was a construction defect that became apparent later: one of the rivets in the base was not properly inserted and the base came apart. I'm hoping to repair it with the materials that I have in my home. My son's violin teacher has recommended another brand, and I'll probably go with her recommendation now that I can see the manufacturer's defect that was not caught prior to shipment.

Very disappointed that this wasn't more durable
August 7, 2017
For two years we used this music stand only used once a week for 45 minutes. Within the first year all of the tightening knobs stripped out. I was able to replaced two, but now the bottom one continues to fall down because it is so stripped out. Very disappointed that this wasn't more durable.
At first glance this looked like a good stand
August 1, 2017
At first glance this looked like a good stand. But this stand utilizes a small piece of plastic that clamps against the pole when tightening the feet, I'll call this part a shoe. This shoe has a very small cheap plastic stub on it that holds it in place that can break off very easily. When the stub breaks off of the shoe the shoe then falls right out of the stand rendering it useless. When my stand broke I tried to return it but it was over the 45 day return period, Kudos to Music 123 who sent me a replacement anyway... but I still end up with a cheap stand that will most likely break again . The attached pictures show the small cheap broken off stub, and one pic that shows the stub sitting where it broke off from... consider buying a music stand that uses the stronger lever clamping method.
Nice stand. Solid feeling for a beginners stand

It come without the head. I tried calling to resolve the issue but it never got done.I had to prepare for a wedding to play and need it the music stand. Music 123 promise to send a new one, but it did not come.I had to call so many times, no answers....finally last week I call again and some one placed a new order, it come yesterday. It looks good. But I just experience so much hassle.

Invest a little more money and buy something better than this
August 9, 2017
Don't buy this. Invest a little more money and buy something better than this. I don't usually review the products I am buying. But this music stand made me so disappointed because it is very cheaply made. I bought this music stand less than 1 year ago and used it very gently only indoor. But the screw came off already and it became a useless stand. I am going to use my "made in Germany" stand again that I've been already using for last 16 years, or will order a stand made in the USA.

Contains Cancer Causing Compounds; Not as Described
December 14, 2014
The music stand we received was chipped and all banged up. In addition, there was a label on it warning us that it contained cancer causing compounds (as per Proposition 65) and may cause cancer while the Proposition 65 warning was nowhere in the product description! Now this is a $23 paperweight as they haven't even bothered to help us with it nor return it! Very annoyed.
