I tried it on on him (I put in the two legs) but noticed that I wasn't able to tie it because the elastic part it has was for a smaller body. in order to fix this problem, I carefully broke the elastic part with a scissor ( I had to make a small hole on the costume --but you can barely notice it.) I also cut the elastic part where the legs go because they were too tight (again, this was made for a smaller dog). I really didn't want to buy another costume for them and have to wait for it, so I made the best out of it!Hope this helps. Foster dog with Super-Powers! We ordered it 2 weeks ago (it said it was going to take 3 1/2 weeks). I got the medium size since I have a papillion mix dog who weighs about 16 pounds. It fits perfectly. It's funny for us, but he has other thoughts.I just wish the cape was longer so you could see it. But that's ok since it was fairly cheap and I can sew him a longer one if needed. Pay attention to size chart. February 16, 2016 So stinkin' cute!!! My husband is a huge Superman fan and has a costume for Halloween. Since it was going to be the first Halloween with our new pup we had to dress her up and when I saw this I had to get it. We ended up going with a Super Hero theme all together. For the price I wasn't expecting the best quality, but I was pleasantly surprised when I received it. I'm glad I paid attention to the sizing chart because it fit her just right around the back and the legs were the perfect length to not interrupt her stride. The cape has a tendency to fall down over the dog's chest as it is a separate piece. I didn't want to make it tighter around her neck fearing she could suffocate if I made it any tighter. One of her legs would come out from running around for awhile. She wasn't a fan having it on at first as she would take a few steps before quickly sitting down as if she was embarrassed. As she got used to it she looked so funny when she walked toward us looking as if she was truly walking like a human being. Every trick or treater loved seeing her and I think she loved the attention. Super buy! September 29, 2015 I love it! My dog not so much :)My dog is a 10 lb chihuahua. The XS fits him perfectly in the chest but he's short so it's a little too long. I plan on having it adjusted to fit him so he can walk without stepping on it. Very cute! It would be super easy to put on if my dog didn't think that the mane was a new chew toy.If your dog loves stuffed toys, I would not recommend.I was able to get him to put the mane on for a minutes but started shaking his head until he got the mane off. Though, I do commend the product for its durability.The tail puff that comes with the mane is very hard to put on - regardless is your dog will sit still for you. The tail piece is similar to an 80s hair band. The elastic was not small enough to fit on my dog (pitbull) tail.The look of the mane is great. Cute mane October 3, 2016 I have a golden retriever guide dog, and I am a Lions Club member. I bought the mane so I can take her to events as a lion, at least for the first couple of minutes. She doesn't love wearing it. This isn't high quality material, and I had to air it out before putting it on her, as it had a funky warehouse smell. It comes with a tail that looks like something the cat dragged in and gnawed on. I threw that out right away.There's no diagram or instruction sheet showing the best way to put it on your dog, so I'll provide that for those who, like me, don't use dog costumes often. Inside the mane there's an elastic strap. Put the tube over your dog's head with that strap up then secure it under your dog's chin. Fluff the mane to make it look right. Cute, furry, fun! October 24, 2014 This arrived much sooner than stated in description, but don't push it, it does ship from China. I have a very large dog (115lbs) and this fit him well. This item is really just a large sleeve of this furry fabric. You split it over the dog's head so it's around his neck, then you tighten an elastic cord that is threaded through one end of it so it's snug around his head (the side with the cord is the one you want to be closer to his face, not his body). My dog doesn't love it, as I suspect is the consensus for most costume-wearing dogs. He can get it off in about 30 seconds. The trick is to distract him when he's wearing it so you can take a couple of photos or have him make an appearance! There are no holes for the ears, and it looks more realistic when the dogs ears are covered, otherwise the mane sits too far back, so that may be irritating for the dog. Otherwise, it looks great. The fur could be slightly longer but for this price, it's pretty good! Hilarious April 29, 2014 It's a cheap little accessory to give you and your friends a good laugh. It's adjustable for the size of your dog's head (assuming it's at least a medium sized dog). The fibers are clearly synthetic when you hold it, but once it's on the dog, it seriously looks like a lion mane. We had some VERY curious looks from the neighbors. Once my dog was at a full gallop, I couldn't contain my laughter!It's not the kind of thing you're going to be able to use every day for years, but the quality is high enough to be able to pull it out for the occasional practical joke, holiday photo session, or cocktail party.All kidding aside, I looked into dog lion manes for a couple of weeks before pulling the trigger on this one and I'm very satisfied. July 18, 2016 I bought the medium first because the dimensions seemed to be what our little was but it ran as big as the largest measurement so it didn't fit. BUT we have a lot of dogs in our family and I gave it to my son for his dog and it's so so so cute!!! If I have a picture, I will post it later. So cute though!! Well made and doesn't seem to bother the dog when it's on because it's made with nice soft material. So I would buy the size that is the closest to the largest measurement in each size. Like my dog is 11" neck girth, (he's a yorkie with lots of hair) but I decided to buy the XS because he's not as tall as the s and m said. He is the height of the XS. And when I got it, it fit him perfectly even around the neck and is not too tight at all. So I found they ran big for my size dog. I couldn't give them a full five star because of the fitting but I couldn't rate it any lower than a 4 because of the quality and how cute it is. So funny! November 24, 2015 We carefully measured our dog before ordering. I was nervous that the costume would be way too small because I'd ordered some shoes for her a few months before using the same method of measurement, and they were laughably small. To my husband's and my surprise, this costume actually turned out to be a little bit big! Because of that, the costume didn't stay completely up next to her neck as she walked. Also, the cape kept slipping off her back, so we had to get creative about how to make it "stick." Even though our dog is a tiny Papillon, the XS was a little small, and yes I did measure. Don't get me wrong, I thought it was a cute costume, it was just a little small all around. Buy the next size up even if you match measurements.Update:We purchased this prior to Halloween. Our Papillion weighed about 7.5 lbs then. Now it's March, almost a half year later. Our Pap now weighs close to 10 lbs (what a pig!). He does not come close to fitting the XS size now. We gave the Superman suit to our friends who have short-haired Chihuahuas. It was fun while it lasted for us.

Three Star Reviews:	10% Not a great mane. November 1, 2017 Not thrilled with this purchase. It wasn't as full as I hoped - but it was only $10. I tried to get it to stand up more around his neck, but couldn't. It also wouldn't stay in place very well - he ended up wearing it around his neck. Very clever, but . . . June 12, 2017 Very clever, but in reality this is just a circular piece of stretchy furry fabric, about four-to-six inches wide. You slide it over the dog's head. And that's it. Well, it squishes down the ears, so you might want to cut holes for the ears to come out. On top of that, if the dog puts his paw on the fabric and pushes it forward onto his face (as mine did), it is off in about two seconds. Oops. No more lion. Lion quickly converts back into lamb. Makes a great photo if you can calm your dog for two minutes to allow you to snap the photo. After that -- forget it. But it' might be fun for a photo, if you want to pay for it. Tail does not stay on...but otherwise is fine. January 8, 2017 My husband is obsessed with it...lol I personally think it's ridiculous, but I have to say it is extremely convincing. The coloring of the mane matches our dogs fur perfectly and we had one gentleman actually question what kind of dog she was....haha. Then she shook it off and he says "OH, that's not real!" Fun times....lolOne downfall, the tail portion does not stay on at all. Great Golden Retriever costume (or attack toy) December 13, 2015 This looks adorable on! Unfortunately my almost 1 year-old golden retriever puppy was more interested in pouncing and killing it than wearing it. Because of that, he bit the plastic closure off pretty quickly, and there was no longer a way to keep the elastic tightened around his face during the fleeting moments when we were able to get him to wear it on Halloween, so it kept falling off when he shook his head. We used a binder clip in a pinch ... I'll try to sew it or come up with a more lasting fix for next year, because the rest of it is still in perfect shape.Even with all of that said, every time someone passed by him as he wore it, they pointed and got so excited, yelling "Look, a lion!" That made it totally worth it, and we'll definitely keep trying! It's cute for a little while! November 4, 2015 It doesn't stay on very well. The head part fits around the dogs head via an elastic drawstring. Our dog is 90 lbs. and I had to pull about 1-1/2 feet of the string in order for it to fit. And it didn't even really fit that well after that. That's the biggest drawback. Other than that, it was hilarious for the 5 minutes it stayed on his head. Luckily I had a STRONGER strap that I took the time to incorporate into the mane to make the mane stick to his small head. I wish there were ears. I hope this will help someone in the future. super man costume October 8, 2013 Ok these are the smallest things ever.. i have a very tiny 14 lb dog and i think i would need an xl.. i got a small and it might fit a dog who is 6 lbs and under . very disappointing i dont get how they do sizing . wow.. be very very careful.. when getting a size.. the costume itself is very cute.. just the most smallest thing ever.. Too Short October 14, 2012 Fitting pets is never easy and measurments are necessary. Using the length, I thought I'd picked the right size but the out fit turned out to short. Wasn't thrilled with the quality either. Would have been better if the cape had attached with velcro or snaps. I didn't think it would be comfortable for my dog and I'd be surprised if I could use it more than once or twice, just not very well made.

I have an English Mastiff and he is not very big for the breed, but this can't fit around his neck, it hardly makes it over his head. March 31, 2016 The cape is extremely poorly constructed and the string easily falls out of the lining of the cape. This is bad because it's very tedious to try to loop the string back through the cape. The cape should've been built into the front suit with velcro or something simpler.Big oversight and ultimately retracts away from a good costume. It's basically tube shaped fabric that has a tie that is supposed to be tightened around the head. It does not stay. It slips off immediately and the tie is loose and weak. The whole thing came loose and off within a minute. Tried at least twenty times but would not stay put. You also get a thing to put on the end of your pet's tail.
