Great product and I would buy it again
August 6, 2017
I bought the cateye to replace one I had lost (found it later) It works great and as long as you have the tire size correctly in the unit it is super accurate for distances, speed and average speed. The sensor that transmits the wheel revolutions is simple to install ob the front fork of your bicycle and the wireless feature simplifies this greatly. This is my go to bike computer.
Great like the two Cateye Micros I already own.
May 12, 2016
Bought a new bike and needed a computer to track my speed and mileage. other bikes have the old Cateye Micro that have served me well over the years. So thought I'ld try this. I didn't want anything big, didn't want GPS (I have my phone if I need it). Just something simple. And this fit the bill. Easy to install, took about 1/2 an hour. Works very well, never had trouble with wireless not working. The zip ties are a little lame and you need to think through how to install them. would be nice if they provided a few extra. but I'm sure you could find at bike shop or elsewhere if you needed to. I expect many years of use out of this product.
Cateye CC-MC100W Micro Wireless 10-Function Bicycle Computer
March 19, 2015
After ordering #1 for me was to download the setup instructionsthe online directions are easy to read and follow zoom it to read without my glassesI have used several bike speedos in the past once I tried a Cateye they had my business always reliable and last a long time this one is for my Recumbent trike see pics of it installed.the wire ties are yellow as I did not pay attention to the 70-centimeter transmission distance go over and it will not work.I installed it in a few minutes then reinstalled it because I had the sender and display too far apart.I set it up and it is working great .so just follow the instructions its easy.
Grat product, reliable, sturdy, accurate, and very attractive.
November 20, 2013
I have bought several and would buy more as needed. Extremely reliable, waterproof, sturdy. I mountain bike and theses have worked perfectly. I lose them when I take them off of my bike and put them somewhere (tailgate of truck) and forget. I like the accuracy and the ability to use of two different bikes. The Cateye keeps me honest when I have done that epic ride for five hours and I know I rode twenty miles, cateye tells me I really only rode eight, so I keep my bragging down until I feel like I rode eight and rode 20.
Cateye Wireless
April 27, 2011
This is the second Cateye micro wirelss I've purchased and it has performed just as well as the first one that I've had for 5 years and it's still working. The new one was purchased for a second bike. It's very compact but easy to read and it just works day after day year after year. The batteries are the inexpensive cr2032 that you can find almost anywhere. The display battery last about a year and I have yet to replace the transmitter battery on my old one after 5 years. The display info is nothing fancy but the usual speed, trip, odometer, avg. speed, max speed, etc. I don't give 5 stars to many products but this one just earns it.
Works great - wife loves it!
June 5, 2008
The wife and I love to bike ride just about everywhere. We ride for both fun and exercise. My wife has wanted a bike computer for a long time. I did some research and found the reviews of this unit favorable. The unit seems small, but the display is easily readable and the backlighg works well. The 2 main things that she wanted were a trip odometer as well as a stopwatch feature to help determine how long we have been riding. The installation was easy, and I am not mechanically inclined. The only slight hiccup is navigating the menus for the initial setup. Other than that everything else was easy to get working. I recommend keeping the instruction sheet as you will need it to accurately setup the wheel size if you ever change bikes and it does not have the same wheel size.

it seems to be working just fine.
May 16, 2017
This was the second one I ordered because the first one had be used. The packing was opened and the unit had already been programmed, yet it was claimed to be "New." This one came unopened, yay! Had a few problems tracking my rides, but after some tweeking, it seems to be working just fine.
easy to mount
March 29, 2016
Fully functional, accurate, easy to mount. A good value. Plastic ties are a one shot only with no spares included. Tighten them right the first time or your screwed.
Generally a good product.
August 8, 2015
Great computer and easy to install. One draw back is that its too easy to reset your ride to zero if you accidentally touch both buttons at once. Unlike earlier versions where you needed to depress and hold both buttons for a couple of seconds, this is instantaneous. Cateye should put back the reset delay to avoid accidental resets.
Done a good job for over a year
February 15, 2012
I have used the Cateye Micro computer for just over a year and more than 3000 miles of commuting over rough potholed roads and with one or two exceptions it has proven to be reliable, accurate and easy to use.The major exception was that after about 3200 miles the transmitter unit dropped off the front fork while biking on a fairly smooth stretch of road - the units cable ties were still holding the mounting bracket in place on the fork but the screw that allows adjustment and holds the actual sender unit in place had somehow loosened , backed itself out, and allowed the sender to drop off. I didn't notice there was no speed reading for a few minutes - and although I retraced my route twice the unit could not be found - I was able to purchase a second sender unit from a third party and was back in action shortly after - I now give the screw a little tightening twist every month or so.The battery in the computer unit faded out after about 14 months use - as the literature says it will - but was an easy replacement.I don't have any stoplights or wireless hives of activity where I commute so haven't experienced any of the distorted or missing data that some have.I agree with the sentiments that the instructions need a total make over as they are frustratingly difficult to interpret.I had one instance of erratic speed /distance readings which turned out to be a slightly misaligned wheel magnet - adjusted, tightened ,and no more problems. If I could make a change - I'd like to be able to see both time and distance info at the same time rather than have to push a button to scroll through the options - but of course it is a "Micro" computer so that's maybe asking too much. The back light is basically useless - so if reading your info in the dark is important this is not for you.On the whole a good quality product for the money.
Great computer but back light is worthless
January 26, 2012
I have had this unit on my MTB for almost a year and it works well except for the fact that the backlight is virtually worthless.... it provides a small amount of green light at the lower right corner of the display which illuminates the screen very non-uniformly and is thus virtually worthless. The size of the unit and functionality is great but just don't buy it if you absolutely positively HAVE to be able to see your display in the dark.
Great device/substandard instructions
October 17, 2010
This is a great device in terms of functionality and due to the zip-tie mounting option it fits thicker handlebars and forks (my bike is a Cannondale Synapse with a carbon fork). I agree with some of the other reviewers that whoever authored the instructions should get fired. They are in diagram form only and it took me forever to figure out in which sequence I was supposed to push buttons to get through the set-up. I am pretty computer/tech savvy but this was certainly a new level of a challenge. Once done, this unit has been great. I deducted one star because of the manual only, not because of functionality.

My Go-To Computer

It is not easy to see the exact time of day (clock). Sometimes that is as important as some of the other features. But this is my go-to computer. I have had them before. Reliable, effective...
Does not work in while using my LED bicycle headlight
April 19, 2016
This unit works fine except when used in conjunction with my Cygolite LED bicycle headlight: when the headlight is turned on the Cateye does not receive any signal from the transmitter--RF interference

August 27, 2015
Quick delivery. Installation was a bit harder. I use my bike on a stationary stand about 50 % of time, so I needed to install spoke magnet on back wheel. It took a little adjusting, had to mount computer on center rail for the wireless to make connection. Wouldn't receive wireless signal if I mounted computer at base of handle bars. Hey it works
Buttons are Awkward as some other Reviewers Point Out
April 7, 2015
This item works but I am not happy with the black button you press to switch between readings. It is also awkward to reset and takes some fiddling for me to do it each time. You have to press two buttons simultaneously. I had the fewer function Cateye Vectra and it was much easier to switch between readings and to reset it. If you try to reset it when on the timer display it reverts to the second trip distance function. I have no need for two trip distances but they include it on this model which is more annoying than helpful.
Mounting system is not good but the computer is great!
May 15, 2009
The computer is great, it has a lot of functions and features and the wireless works very well. The only thing I was dissapointed was the mounting system, it is with nylon ties while the Strada Wireless has the "FlexiTight" Bracket Mount which has a faster installation. Besides if I need to switch it to another bike is faster and I don't need to have spare nylon ties with me.

August 8, 2017
Was able to install it pretty easily but the sensor is attached to the bike with a special mount that you screw the sensor into. Second ride out and the screw fell out and sensor detached. Thankfully was able to find the sensor but not the screw. Doesn't really matter since it won't stay on now. Cateye sells the replacement sensor and mount but not going to pay to replace the whole sensor unit just for a couple cent screw.
I would say its a good entry level device
June 20, 2017
I have had the device for a year. Right now I am showing 350 miles. It does log distance and MPH. I would say its a good entry level device. The LED screen just started to act up and there is a dark spot which is why I am doing the review. I would say spend the extra money for a better product.
Not a good product for the money.
July 13, 2015
I owned a much older CatEye Micro computer (purchased in the early 1990s) and it never failed me. In fact, I only replaced the battery one time during 20 years. I don't know what's up with this one, but already after only a couple dozen miles, it is dropping the signal from the transmitter. And it did this on a longer ride where I needed to keep track of speed and time to keep my pace. If I were averaging between 14 and 16 miles per hour, I was looking down to see it jumping to either 5 or 8 miles per hour, sticking there for 10-20 seconds, and then jumping back to correct speed. The sensor is dead on accurate, and the gap between sensor and magnet is well within the 5mm spacing required (more like between 2mm - 3mm). This trail, by the way, was the smoothest I've ridden in the area, and earlier, the computer held its speed on far more bumpy roads and trails, so jostling around is not the problem either. I am going to try new batteries in both (never know how stale the batteries are) but, if that does not cure it, I'm sending it back.Furthermore, a few more complaints. First, attaching the computer with cheap cable ties is rather janky, but attaching the sensor is a recipe for failure. Despite having the ties as snug as I can, the sensor can still be nudged around if I push on it. Not good, and in my opinion looks cheap. Also, why such a useless short range on the sensor? It should allow me to mount it to the rear wheel, not the front, where it is more out of harm's way. An extra 25cm of range would have resulted in a perfect mounting point. Yes I could go with a wired computer, but the point of the wireless is not to have a lot of problem-prone cables held on with more cable ties (which looks even more tacky). Finally, don't buy this for the backlight--the single weak LED in the lower right corner does not even make this visible in the dark.Pass on this one. There are better computers out there.
Great Unit, but has a FATAL FLAW, as noted by others.
May 28, 2015
This unit has all the right stuff so that I'm disappointed that I cannot "love" it. As with other reviewers, the singular, and fatal, flaw that keeps me from recommending it to anyone is its sensitivity to electromagnetic interference (EMI). I haven't seen the crazy high numbers that others have, but I regularly see "0 MPH" for current speed. Much worse in town than in the country, but it still happens in the country. I have not been able to isolate causes, which seem to range from car ignition noise, to alarm systems, to ???As a result, the trip mileage is thrown off, sometimes a lot, and it makes difficult to track on ride route sheets. It also means that one's accumulated mileage cannot be accurate.Addendum: additionally, the screen cover appears to be polarized on a portion of it. As a result, it is difficult to read with polarized sunglasses.Having read of others' experiences, I don't think the wireless units are reliably ready for prime time. I'm going back to a wired unit, since all I need are the basic functions of trip distance, current speed, total distance and trip average speed.
Not as good as the older Cateyes.
April 2, 2015
I returned it for a refund. I've had Cateyes in the past that competed well for accuracy with my pro level Garmin GPS but this one doesn't. I have an older wireless Cateye installed on my wife's mountain bike and it works fine. Both of our bikes are the same make and model. I have a cable Cateye on my bike that works well.
OK Computer, Crappy Screen
February 12, 2012
The unit works well after 500 miles. I didn't find the instructions as troublesome as some reviews indicated. My difficulty is the screen. It seems to be a bit polarized and is difficult to read from even a slight angle. Had I not had it on the bike and accurized when I figured this out, I would have returned it. I reinstalled the wire ties and changed the angle which improves the view but does not completely correct the difficulty.

Designed by engineers for computer scientists (with good eyes)
March 17, 2017
I cannot imagine a product more difficult to set up than this. The directions are written in several languages in a very small font. I could not tell from the graphic directions that a "hidden" button existed. I spent two hours on this (I have owned approximately 10 bike computers in the past). The display is very small and difficult to see anything other than the current speed. Today, I went out and bought a different brand (Specialized) that is very intuitive to set up, easy to see and a joy to use. I'll give this one away to someone happy to get a "freebie".

bad product
Compnay that sold this has no customer service
January 13, 2008
I bought this bike computer as a christmas gift for my girlfriend but it turned out that her parents had also bought her one and she had opened that one first. I wrote to the retailer, USBIKEBARGAINS, through Amazon and asked if I could return it. I said I would be happy for store credit and would just buy some other bike equipment. However, the company never even replied. They didn't acknoledge my email and they can't be found on-line. I wouldn't suggest buying this, not because of the product but because the retailer is either really badly run or not really a company.
Nothing Good to Say
October 17, 2007
Right now this product is sitting in an open box on my desk. When I installed it on my Mongoose it turned out that the sensor and the magnet were too far apart to get a reading. Nothing stated that it would not work with a Mongoose bike. The only way I could find this out was to open it and install it. When I tried to return it to the retailer, Niagra Cycle Works, they refused return because it was opened. I would appreciate it if any one can tell me how I would know it didn't work unless I opened it, I would love to hear it. I have contested the charge on my credit card and will see what happens. I will probably lose but at least others will see this and hopefully cost Niagra Cycle Works more then the stinking $40 it cost me.
