Change for the better!
May 30, 2017
Like another reviewer mentioned, this filter does bring out more of the oils of the coffee beans you use. We grind Dunkin Donuts beans at home and this filter brings out their wonderful flavor even more. We think our coffee taste is improved overall, although it did take a couple of days to get used to the change. If you don't like the taste of your coffee after a week, you probably just don't like your coffee and should consider switching brands. We are proof that you don't need expensive beans to have great coffee. We have had many compliments on how great the coffee comes out now. I also love not having to buy or fight with filter bags before I'm awake. I don't think we're ever going back!
I am using it to filter my cold brew!
September 5, 2016
This worked great in my Cuisinart drip coffee maker but now I am using it to filter my cold brew! I add a cup of grounds to a 64 ounce mason jar, fill it with cold filtered water, and store it in the fridge overnight. In the morning, I pour the brew through this filter sitting in the rim of this pitcher Paksh/Bormioli Rocco Frigoverre Hermetic Seal Glass Pitcher With Lid and Spout, Use Glass Water Pitcher, for Homemade Juice, Iced Tea Pitcher, or Glass Milk Bottles, 68 Ounce. Filters quickly and works great! I tried with with paper filters but they were very slow and no one's got time for that!

February 13, 2016
Great filter, not as cheap as the one I bought years ago in the local market. That one the top sides separated from the plastic and the plastic bail finally broke. This one the bail is pretty tough, I tried to tear it off since the coffee pot had its own bail but it stayed put and I was afraid of trashing it if I kept trying. So the bail stays on and really does not get in the way. I get no grounds in the coffee so the fine mesh screen works well. Found this easy to clean with just running water no need for soap or anything like that. Seemed a tad taller than my old filter and was afraid it would not fit in the machine, (that's really why I was trying to remove the bail to gain more clearance), but seems to work just fine.
Better coffee, happier planet, easy clean-up!
November 28, 2015
I love this filter. It works as well as a paper filter for keeping grit out, but allows greater flow for a more balanced brew. The water doesn't sit as long, so the coffee simply tastes better. With this filter, the coffee brews a little bit stronger, so I can use fewer beans. Always nice to save a little money...Cleaning is an absolute breeze. I dump the grinds into the trash (sadly, I'm in an apartment and can't compost...) and then rinse the filter under the tap into the disposal. As an added benefit, the grinds scrub the disposal blades and help to eliminate odors. It's a win win, and it only takes a few seconds. I actually find it less messy than a paper filter, which drips - because the water drains out faster, this filter won't drip across your countertop when you take it out.I bought this filter to be kinder to the environment and reduce waste, and am so happy I did.
Great for making that single cup
March 13, 2014
You know how when you go to the grocery store and they are always out of those #4 size cone shaped filters? So you buy the #2 size because if your careful you can make them work? Get one of these and you can quit worrying about whether or not you can find the #4 filters on your shopping trip. This works perfectly, assuming your coffee maker has a basket for the cone shaped filters. I've only used this for single cups but because of it's size I'd bet it would be fine for making four cups at a time if your pot will fit under the basket (mine won't). Immediately after brewing the coffee, pull the basket out and rinse the filter in warm or cool water. Never wash it with soap and never, ever put it in the dishwasher. Adhere to these "rules" and the filter will last a very long time. If you object to a small amount of "fines" in your coffee, then this filter may not be for you because, there will be some. It can't be helped. It's a product of the grinding process and the fact that this filter is wire mesh and not paper. I prefer my coffee to be free of this debris but I am willing to put up with it, for the convenience of brewing a single cup of coffee.
Works with all Cuisinart 10, 12, and 14-cup cone filter coffeemakers
May 26, 2012
For owners of Cuisinart coffee makers, this filter works with all Cuisinart 10, 12 and 14-cup cone filter coffee makers, according to a note on the side of the filter's box. It mentions the DCC-2600, DCC-2700, DCC-1100, DCC-1150, DCC-1200, and shows a photo of other drip coffee machines. It then states, "Fits all other Cuisinart 10, 12, and 14-cup cone filter coffeemakers." So if you have a Cuisinart, this GTF model should work for you.I ordered the Cuisinart GTF Gold Tone Filter for my as a replacement filter to paper filters because I do not always want to use paper filters: sometimes I am in the mood for a gold tone filter which imparts a different taste to the coffee.Gold tone filters do by nature bring more sediment to the coffee pot and to a cup of coffee: you will find that echoed in Cuisinart coffee maker product videos by the manufacturer as well. However, I do not mind a bit of sediment in my coffee.I was very pleased to learn that this filter does indeed fit my Bonavita BV1800 8-Cup Coffee Maker, the Thermal Carafe model. It fits inside of my Bonavita's filter basket, which means I can use it instead of a paper filter. It makes incredible coffee and on top of that, this Cuisinart gold tone filter has the added bonus of having a handle that I can use to lift it out of my coffee maker once it has finished brewing.I have had Cuisinart gold tone filters in the past and they have always had a long life. I am hoping for the same with this one. Will update if anything changes. Also: no plastic taste with this filter, an added bonus. Cuisinart uses BPA free plastic, so all you will taste is coffee.

Coffee filter that fits Hamilton coffee maker
September 9, 2017
I ordered this filter for my new Hamilton coffee machine. It fits in perfectly and it is easy to wash. I wash this filter by hand, I do not put it in a dishwasher.
and the coffee tasted bad. I'm very pleased with this filter however
July 24, 2017
I didn't expect too much because I bought one for a very popular coffee maker years ago, and the coffee tasted bad. I'm very pleased with this filter however, the taste is just as good as using a real filter.
Sturdy and easy to clean
May 25, 2017
I use a ceramic coffee filter cone and this is so much easier that a paper filter. Sturdy and easy to clean. I am certainly not a coffee aficionado and so take this with the understanding I don't need to have it steep or be a certain way I just want a good cup of coffee and this provides it for me.
Medelco #4 Cone Permanent Coffee Filter
April 29, 2017
Arrived in excellent condition. Works well and fits within my Melitta #4 ceramic cone. A lot of ultra fine coffee particles do pass through the filter into my coffee cup…more than expected. I do like my coffee very strong though, like used motor oil!
Permanent works just as well, if not better than paper
March 11, 2016
I was constantly running out of the paper unbleached filters for my coffee dripper and decided to try something a bit more permanent. That was 6 months ago and other than a couple of stains on it, it's in good shape. It cleans well and is just a little more effort than throwing away a paper one.

I a bit more reinforcement around the top and a bit better plastic quality would be good for me
October 2, 2016
This is more or less as expected. A bit less coffee powder makes it way through than my old beat up gold tone filter. I a bit more reinforcement around the top and a bit better plastic quality would be good for me. I prefer to bang the filter against the side of a garbage can to get the old ground sout, which I think should be an expected use of the item and thus designed accordingly. That said, it it still going after several months of use, the plastic is of decent quality and when it breaks it could be epoxied back together.
Good qiulity filter
April 18, 2015
This filter basket fit my Cuisinart coffee maker. The mesh was easy to clean by hand with a soapy sponge. I did occasionally put it in the dishwasher without a problem. This replacement filter basket seemed sturdier than the original that came with the coffee maker (the original ripped at the base in less than a year). The handle makes it easy to get the filter out to dump the grinds. I used this for over a year then my coffee maker died and I got a new one that uses a different shaped basket. I did give this one to my father-in-law as a backup for when/if his breaks.
Fits perfectly & easy to empty
September 25, 2014
works great and fits perfectly into my Cuisinart coffee maker. my previous gold filter was not Cuisinart brand, so the top of the coffee maker never closed properly when i used it. that said, it worked fine enough, so i put up with it. once the screen eventually cracked, i decided to get a new cone. this one was priced right and happened to be Cuisinart, so I gave it a try. I love it. Not only does it fit great, i like the plastic on the bottom on the sides that you can hold on to while emptying it. It's easy to hold on to (and not drop into the trash can like often happened with my old one,) but I expect it will last longer because i'm not forced to pinch the screens.
THIS WILL FILTER THINGS FOR YOU NICELY
May 9, 2014
I don't drink much coffee, but I DO make vodka infusions, and one of the most painful parts of this process is filtering out the fruits, spices, herbs, etc. that you are infusing into the vodka. Filtering through paper coffee filters is wasteful, and slow and just a huge pain to do, so I got this guy. Very reasonably-priced, does the job well, cleans up very easily. It's a goofy shape, but I put it into my filter when I am transferring the liquid to a new container, and it works out just fine.Probably filters coffee OK as well.
saves you money, but your coffee will be cloudy with silt on the bottom.
September 27, 2013
got this to hopefully save money and the hassle of filters.first off, the water pours right through this thing, so I'm not sure i'm really getting the heart and soul of the grind.second, you'll immediately notice that your coffee, instead of looking shimmering and bright and clear, will be very cloudy, like unfiltered apple juice. After you finish, you'll realize why your coffee is cloudy as a ton of very fine particulate matter will be sitting at the bottom of your cup. last, you'll have a slightly tacky taste in your mouth, when you were a kid and rode your bike down a very hot and dry dirt road and got all that dust in your mouth.I can understand why it gets 5 stars (and why i gave it 4), cause it isn't horrible, but it's definitely a large step down from paper filters. On the other hand, if you're environmentally conscious, or can't afford filters or are trying to save money, the sacrifice, while large esthetically, really isn't that big of a deal. if you like your coffee with paper filters 100%, you'll like it 92% as much with this... the thing about coffee is that it's a game of nuance and each percent separates one brand from another, so to lose 8% of the potential of a bean, is kinda large, but once again, that may not be your priority, especially if you're buying mediocre coffee or non-micro roasted coffee to begin with.
Saves Money
June 3, 2009
The Cuisinart GTF Gold Tone Filter for the Cuisinart 12-cup Coffee Maker - Stainless Steel with 30 Paper Filters is a great way to save money over paper filters, but the fact is paper filters do a better job -- in fact, they do a a much better job. If you use the GTF with a standard grade of ground coffee, you can expect fine coffee particles throughout the bottom quarter of your pot. A coffee that is not so finely ground would probably leave less residue than the Gold Tone Filter, but the end result is the same: this is a problem you do not have to worry about with paper filters. That said, the flavor is almost as good (at least for the first few cups) and just having a permanent filter around will save you the aggravation of discovering you are out of paper filters while you are getting ready for work. That comfort alone makes this item worth the modest cost of six to seven dollars (the price as I write this review.) If you grind your own coffee less fine than commercial brands you can get rid of most of the problem of residue at the bottom, at which point the GTF becomes a very worth while purchase.

Paper of Plastic? (Actually, plastic and metal)
July 19, 2017
This filter is perfectly fine - works as well as any mesh style filter I've used and the quality of construction is excellent. That having been said, I've found that I prefer a paper filter for eliminating sediment in my coffee. I still use the Medelco sometimes but it's not my 1st choice.
Good quality filter
April 10, 2017
Bought #4 Cone to go with my new MoccaMaster drip coffee maker. They recommend using thin paper filters but this works fine. I had a # 6 Cone for my old Capresso machine and the filter outlasted the coffeemaker! These are great. I honestly can't tell the difference in the flavor of the coffee and I am a java junkie. Of course, you have to keep it clean so not to absorb to many oils.
and I love the option of not having to purchase paper filters ...
April 1, 2017
This is the 2nd of these I've purchased. The first one I had for over a year with daily use and then it cracked a bit by one of the handles. So I ordered a new one. They are very affordable, and I love the option of not having to purchase paper filters all the time. Overall I do love it, just wish the first had lasted a bit longer. Not sure what the life expectancy on this kind of thing is though.
It works, but not without compromise.
November 24, 2015
It works as it is supposed to but doesn't fit my 8 cup Black and Decker coffee maker unless I remove the filter holder from the brew container and sit the pot under the opening with the cover open so there's no spillage. Then there's only hot water blasting on on top of coffee in an open filter dripping into the pot underneath the opening left when you pull out the handy paper filter holder (cone or basket). You still get a pot of good coffee, but you have to wait until the brew cycle completes as you lose the "sneak a cup" feature (there's no stopping the drip until brewing is complete). As for "the thing itself" as we might hear from Jean-Paul Sartre; it's a well made permanent coffee filter (you have to click in the handle yourself) and should give very good service for many years to come.
Good fit for Technivorm
August 23, 2014
The way I brew my coffee at home is a bit different so this review may not apply to most. I have a Technivorm Mocchamaster and this filter is a very good fit. It's slightly shorter than a standard #4 paper filter but in terms of how it fits the brewing basket of Technivorm, it's great.I don't let coffee pass through as it's brewing; rather I let it sit in the brewing basket first, then open the dispense gate (with Technivorm, you can do this), so it's pseudo-French pressing in a sense the water is allowed to sit. Because of this, I don't see the issue of many others' complaints about the mesh not being fine enough and letting water pass through too fast that results in watery coffee. The good thing about this filter is that it lets coffee bean oil from fresh beans to pass through. I can actually see a very thin later of oil on the surface of a fresh brew. Some like this and some don't. And yes, you do get some coffee silt... some don't mind this and some hate it. I don't mind actually. As of this writing, it's been about a year since I've started using the filter and it's still working fine. No tears in the mesh. This filter does cut down the waste from using paper filters but then you have to wash permanent filters which wastes water. While the environment is important, let's not get too serious and enjoy your cup of coffee.
The good, the bad, the surprise
April 15, 2014
This filter was purchased for use on a Bruan 10 cup electric. So you can tell I not an aficionado, but I do drink quite a bit of coffee every day and enjoy good noticeable coffee flavor. Having used a variety of coffee filters, I have to add that I have yet to find a filter that made a difference for me. But the potential of saving 4 or 5 dollars a month encouraged me to try one more time.I usually make 3 or 4 cups of Yuban coffee at a time and noticed from the start, and with the several pots after, this filter produced very little coffee Flavor. As other reviews have mentioned, the water does seem to flow thru the Medelco filter quite a bit faster than thru paper. So, I tried using more coffee per brew but the taste was still bland. Yuck! I then purchased a can of Yuban Dark Roast which, surprise, gave me a really nice rich, on the strong side, flavor. So, for now, I think it will be a keeper: even though it is a bit messy to clean after every use. It was nice just to pull out and throw out the used filter in the trash.

Interesting. While the description says it is a Cuisinart GTF Gold Tone Filter, it does not bear the same part number nor appearance as the original that came with the Cuisinart DCC-3400 12-Cup Programmable Thermal Coffeemaker, Stainless Steel I purchased. It could just be a coincidence, it could be a "it is what it is" situation or it could just be a knock-off. It is definitely not the same as the original. Time will tell....
BACK TO PAPER
May 20, 2017
Requires several coffee use cycles to rid the metal taste. Once seasoned, they provide less cost than disposable paper but the effort to remove and rinse used coffee grounds does not out weigh the convenience of paper cone filters.

It's well made, priced right but just not for me and the way I grind my coffee. If you use a larger grind it'll be perfect...we grind our beans, bought here on amazon, "The Bean" organic dark French roast (delicious!) into what may be considered Espresso grind.....very fine. This filter does not work well on such a fine grind and knew it from other reviews....but got a little stubborn and bought it anyway. The filter will be saved in its box for possible future use if I run out of the more convenient paper filters.

September 20, 2015
It works. I like that you get less "filtering" (some coffee sludge) using this product, but, the filter doesn't precisely fit my Cuisinart coffeemaker. I have to jiggle the item a little and press it down as I'm closing the door for the grounds. Not a big deal and I know it will always work when I'm out of paper filters. I ran it through the dishwasher once, top shelf, and it weathered that beating just fine. It's held up to about a month of use with no visible wearing ... and, I make a pot or two of coffee every day. Anyway, if you're looking for a permanent filter this will be fine. Even though I only gave it 3 stars, I will buy it again when the one I currently have bites the dust ... my Braun lasted years; hope this one does also.
Not exactly the same as filter that came with maker
December 14, 2014
This is about 1 cm shorter than the original filter that came with my DCC-1200. It fits fine and works all right but in my opinion is inferior to the one it came with because it would theoretically allow spillover more quickly than the original if you were to pull the carafe out while the unit is still brewing. This has not actually happened to me but it could under certain circumstances.
Mesh seperates from plastic after 4 uses
June 17, 2012
It's a typical wire/mesh re-usable filter that works fine until it breaks. My filter started separating where the mesh meets the plastic at the bottom. After only 4 uses, there are now openings large enough to allow coffee grounds to fall through. It would be much more durable if the mesh was one single unit that was slid through the plastic at the bottom of the filter. The way it is now, it is two mesh panels basically glued onto the edge of the plastic. I wouldn't buy this again. There are some more expensive options available that are more durable. Also, note that gold-"toned" filters simply means gold "colored" stainless steel.Real gold plated filters are superior as the coffee and water will not interact and/or degrade the gold-plated mesh of a true gold filter.

Poor quality
March 27, 2017
Used it every day for about 30 days, and the top plastic rim cracked. If this really is genuinely Cuisinart, it's junk. If it's fraudulent, then it's still junk. I don't see that there is an alternative, other than just using paper filters. The quality of this item is poor. It also just isn't big enough to make a 12-cup pot of strong coffee, but that seems to be the standard size. I am using it for a Cuisinart coffeepot.

I love the permanent filter but I have ordered two of these and they are so poorly made that the handles break. Can't recommend this product as a replacement. We went back to paper filters and just bought a new Cuisinart that came with the permanent filter a few days ago. I have not had this problem with the filter that comes with the coffee maker.

March 12, 2016
I've used Cuisinart coffee makers for years and have replaced the gold tone filter before. This was my first (and last) time to purchase on line. Perhaps it was just a coincidence, but the plastic holding the handle in place broke after only a few weeks' use. This caused the handle to frequently come off the filter. The handle eventually got lost, which made the filter very difficult to use. We ended up purchasing a whole new filter, but not through Amazon.

January 10, 2015
The filter arrived on time. Compared to my previous "Gold" filter, which I still have, this one has LESS filter element; meaning there is More plastic around the sides and at the base. This hasn't affected the taste of the coffee as far as I can tell. One thing though is that this filter picked up dark stains from the coffee grounds which I have not been able to remove easily; it requires a bit more cleaning time after the brew due to this and also the fact that there is a wider base at the bottom end of the filter which tends to somehow pile up the grounds in a way that is harder to clean. I bought this filter for my Braun coffeemaker because it looked similar to the one I had been using and also because it was the least expensive and had fairly descent ratings. Not a bad filter, except for the above. And I'm only basing my opinion on one other filter I've had for a while. I may just keep it as a backup, or return it in favor of the other highly-rated one I saw on Amazon.UPDATE -- July 17th, 2015This filter continues to build coffee stains at symmetrical spots half way up from the bottom of the filter. From about the 3rd month, I noticed excessive coffee ground residue at the bottom of the pot. This did NOT happen with my previous gold filter. I will not buy this filter again, but will try instead to buy one closer to the one I used before ...
says it fits 2600 model, but .... yes and no...
January 2, 2013
Bought my 2600 a year ago, ordered this filter since the original was getting stainedand I wasn't sure how to clean it.The replacement arrived, and it's a Cuisinart filter, and on its box it says it fits Model 2600,but the filter is oval shaped unlike the original gold filter that came with the coffee maker.I find the original round filter fits perfectly, just drops in,but this replacement requires an extra downward push and click to make it fit into the basket.Don't like it for that reason. Decided to continue using the original and keep this for a spare.P.S. Since I ordered the replacement I found out by accidentI can best clean the stains off the filter when the filter is DRY.I had been trying to clean it WET and it wasn't working very well).

Don't buy unless you like hot, messy hands.
September 29, 2017
Well... it filters coffee, but that's about the end of it... The plastic seems to warp when hot (duh) and the handle won't stay attached - which makes it messy and almost useless. The filter didn't last more than 6-8 weeks.
Look at customer's posted images before buying this
January 29, 2017
If I had noticed the product description does not match customer's posted images, I would not have ordered this filter. The filter has a wide plastic band around the sides and bottom of the filter, which is not depicted in the 1 picture in the product description. Water runs through very fast and leaves sludge in bottom of cup. 2 stars instead of 1 because it has a handle.
Weak, yet muddy coffee. I'll keep it for backup purposes
June 12, 2016
Muddy coffee / too much sediment, and seems weaker --possibly my fault, but one user pointed out the coffee runs through too fast perhaps, so it doesn't pick up as much flavor. I imagine a great burr grinder w/ perfect consistency, could be w/ uniform coarseness, leaving no dust / mud making coffee flour. LOVE the green / non tree consuming aspect, but haven't found way to make good coffee w/ it yet (please enlighten me if there are tricks).
Meh
August 17, 2014
Does it's job, but I wish the bottom was mesh and not just a block of plastic- makes it kind of hard to rinse out quickly. It also creates a cloud of...powdery coffee...at the bottom of your cup, and it makes everything taste horrible.Good for the environment, though, right...?
Leaves Silt in The Bottom of My Cup
December 16, 2012
The filter measures approximately 3 1/2" up the side and 4 1/2" top diameter.I usually make coffee one cup at a time using the "manual drip method" (pouring hot water over the grounds through a filter and into my cup). It feels wasteful using a paper filter for one cup of coffee. I started using a mesh tea filter but is was leaving me with a "muddy" cup of coffee. This Medelco filter looked promising. I only paid $2.51 with free super saver shipping (the price does seem to fluxuate. In the few weeks I had my eye on it, it was as high as $12 and as of this date it's now 1 cent with a $4.99 shipping charge). Well, it doesn't perform any better than the fine mesh tea filter I have. It leaves a significant amount of silt at the bottom of my cup and the last few sips leave a fine grit in my mouth. I'm going to go back to the paper filters. One other minor flaw: the bottom of the filter, when turned upside down, has an approximately 1/8" lip. So when you throw it in the dishwasher, a small amount of water collects in that area.
Significantly different than paper filters - less flavor
December 26, 2011
I had been using the brown unbleached paper filters, i liked the clean strong coffee i could get with the filters, but i wanted to make the move from non reusable paper coffee filters to something less wasteful. This seemed like the best option based on great the reviews. Here is why it is not comparable and not a good substitute:The mesh is not fine enough. Water goes through twice or three times faster than through a paper coffee filter, so the coffee has lees time to infuse into the water. The coffee you get with this filter is not "clean" as it is when using a paper filter but murky like with a french press, except not as rich as with a french press. There is a lot more plastic on this than you can see in the image. The base of the filter is almost completely made of plastic.I do not like hot liquids to come in contact with plastic, many studies have shown that plastics produce unhealthy chemicals especially when exposed to heat.Because this is made of a combination of metal mesh and plastic on the bottom more water flows over the grounds and out the sides of the mesh when it is more full, once it gets closer to the plastic there is less mesh so the water flow is obstructed. In a paper filter water travels down, but because of the design of this, water travels out to the sides, which means the water is flowing over a lot of the grounds rather than through them so the finer coffee grounds that release more flavor are less exposed to the water than the rougher grounds on top.All of this adds up to less flavor extracted from the coffee and a more one dimensional watery kind of coffee.A better design would have been to have a mesh screen at the bottom as well.Overall, this is a bad replacement for paper filters. The design is lacking and the resulting coffee is both significantly different than paper filters but also less flavorful, with the added bonus of sludge at the bottom of your cup.

For Cuisinart's prices, this should be a better filter
July 7, 2017
I bought this filter some time ago, stashed it in the cabinet as a back up, and just began using it a few days ago. Not sure what Cuisinart did to the design and production of this filter, but it's terrible. Every time I try to remove it from the coffee maker, the handle comes completely off. A couple of times, the handle came loose between the coffee maker and a small disposal container a foot away, and hot coffee grounds went everywhere. What a mess! This happened once to me and once to my husband. We had a Cuisinart filter that we bought when we got our coffee maker a few years ago; it worked well and lasted a long time. We've been extra careful about making sure the handle snaps in completely, but it still comes out when it shouldn't. Waste of money - need to get a different brand. For Cuisinart's prices, this should be a better filter.

I had a filter like this for 5 years that finally needed to be replaced. Within 2 months of receiving this one, it was junk. The coffee grounds back-up and I now get coffer grounds in my coffee. also, the plastic broke around the handle, so the handle is constantly coming out. It will be replaced with a different brand. It's unfortunate that the cheapened the quality.

I've purchased this filter from Amazon before and it had a handle on it. This most recent purchase was missing the plastic handle.
Terrible Quality Control
August 22, 2016
I bought this filter because the original one developed a hole. When this one arrived, it came with...wait for it...TWO holes in it. Seriously, the quality control at the factory in China really needs some strict attention. If I were Cuisinart, I wouldn't want these guys representing my brand.
How Cheap Can You Make It
May 23, 2015
After a month or so the plastic has already cracked around the top edge. The screen will start to unravel and then time to change it again. A simple device, but this one was made as cheap as possible so you will need to change it often. Not unlike most items being made today but annoying when it doesn't even last a year. I would not buy this again.
Did NOT fit our listed Cuisinart model DTC 975BKN
February 16, 2014
Ordered this as a standby for our existing Cuisinart, model DTC 975BKN, which IS listed in the product description as one of the models for which this replacement is made. But that was NOT the case. Our existing basket and filter have a perfectly ROUND top and the replacement filter is OVATE. It will only fit our existing Cuisinart DTC 975BKN is you jam it down into the basket but even then: it will NOT stay in place due to the flanges on the filter's handles being in the way of the basket.NO, this is NOT made for the Cuisinart DTC 975BKN and we returned it to Amazon. Be forewarned!

This filter was being sold as a combo package with the Hamilton beach 5 cup coffee maker w/ stainless carafe (48137). This filter is a #4 size, it does not fit this coffee maker!!! I need a #2 size!!
Coffee full of sludge
August 4, 2017
I really wanted to like this, both to save costs on paper filters and to save some trees, but I used it once and it will go in the trash. There was so much sludge in the pot after brewing that the coffee is undrinkable. There was actually a film on the top of cup, and coating the cups after I dumped the coffee. Having spent a considerable amount on a high end coffee maker, this just ruins the coffee.Yuck.
Would not recommend.

This product was advertise as a filter with a KitchenAid Model KCM0802ER coffee maker for which I purchased both. The filter doesn't fit the coffee maker. Would not recommend.

I'm sure the product is fine, but do not purchase this if you are going to use with the new KitchenAid Pourover maker. It shows the filter being being compatible (or I would assume) and sold in the set. Doesn't fit even if you deconstruct the original included basket! I'm bummed.
Horrible! Don't waste your time or money

This filter was recommended for my Melitta and it does fit perfectly. However, the filter I received was USED, NOT NEW. Seller ignored Emails. It was tossed in a box (no packaging). Item had obviously been used as it had stains on the filter. I bought another one from a different site and the filter game in a Medelco box and was encased in a sealed plastic bag inside the product box. There was also a paper with washing instructions.Anyway, on to the review of the product. The filter's mesh is very thin and flimsy. It also allows the grounds to seep through the mesh resulting in sludge and very cloudy coffee even if you use regular grind. Do not attempt to use fine grind.
Definitely does NOT fit all coffee makers.

I purchased this to go with my Hamilton Beach 12-Cup Coffeemaker, Black which is my first coffeemaker to use a cone style filter. And that is where my review hit a sticking point - this filter does not fit! It is the right shape, I'll give them that, but my coffee maker's lid will not close because the rim of this filter sits above the special clips. Since it wasn't worth sending back, I used some craft tools to cut slots in the plastic so this filter would slide into place. That did help it fit, but cutting away part of the plastic rim made it extra flimsy, and now it doesn't hold as much coffee grounds. The filter itself seems alright, and I like the little pull handle built into the top for easy removal from the coffeemaker. But with the alterations I had to make on mine, I can't say if it's durable or works well in practice.Do not buy this unless you read the reviews and get confirmation that it fits your specific coffeemaker!

User Overview
  • Problem with sizes

According to your review, the Cuisinart is 366 inches by 720 inches. That's not even going to fit in my driveway, much less my kitchen.
