Works with Hamilton Beach 46201
March 30, 2017
This works with my Hamilton Beach 12-Cup Digital Coffee Maker, Stainless Steel (46201). I see grinds around the top here and there, but they are usually caused by me either putting it in or taking them out. Hasn't broken yet on me, I've been using it pretty much every day for about a month now.
I recommend this product!
March 16, 2017
This has served me well, and will transfer to my new coffeemaker as an extra in case I need it (a new one comes with the new coffeemaker)It is easy to maintain so I just put it in the top rack of my dishwasher between the regular maintenance cleanings (recommended by the coffeemaker)
Awesome buy!

I love not having to waist coffee filters anymore. Also, this is awesome for composting. I can throw straight coffee grounds into the compost pile and I don't have to worry about waiting for the paper to decompose. Rinses out easily and if you drink coffee intermittently and accidentally leave some grounds in there until they have formed their own ecosystem it is not a big deal. The ecosystem can be dumped in the compost, the basket rinsed with hot water, and voila, you are back to making coffee. Well worth the money!
Yep - it's making coffee!

Good filter - does what it's supposed to do! While it appears to not fit the Hamilton Beach 12-Cup Coffee Maker, Programmable Brewstation Summit Dispensing Coffee Machine (48464), it actually does! Which, while surprising, doesn't take away from the good coffee it helps to brew.Picked up a few so I can have one in the wash and one in the maker, ready to serve me first thing in the morning!
Excellent permanent coffee filter
July 14, 2016
This filter works much better than paper filters and better than any permanent filter I've used. It is dishwasher safe and very easy to clean. Just dump the grounds in the trash and then rinse in warm water, using the sprayer. It takes about 1-2 minutes to remove, dump, rinse, and replace. It's not only economical, it's the environmentally friendly thing to do!
Permanent Gold Tone Filter...
May 9, 2016
Ever since I was introduced to permanent filters a few years ago I have never wanted to go back to a paper filter. So after having decided on the coffee maker I was going to buy I knew my next purchase was going to be a permanent filter for it. A permanent filter just makes your coffee making experience so much more pleasant. The Hamilton Beach Permanent Gold Tone Filter fits perfectly into the brew basket making your life so much more satisfying. You get that perfect cup of coffee without all the hassle as well a nice clean up later.

September 1, 2017
Our coffee maker wasn't getting all of the grounds wet when we were using paper filters. We switched to this basket and it solved all of our problems. It's really easy to rinse out and saves us from having to buy paper filters. Yay, Earth!
It's the filter you keep meaning to buy
April 11, 2017
My coffee is tasting better. The flavor is definitely coming through better than with the paper filters I was using. I use it with the Mr Coffee 10-cup coffeemaker with thermal carafe (another good purchase)
Prefect Every Time
December 6, 2016
When buying the Mr Coffee there was no Mr Coffee filter for sale at that store. I got a universal filter which was just 'okay'. The problem with the universal filter was the flow rate. Even when using the strong setting, the water would over flow the filter sometimes getting grounds on the pot. Not a real big deal but come-on, that's what the filter is there for, right? The Mr Coffee filter fits the brewing basket better, stands a-little taller, and flow rate is prefect on the basic settings. I've not yet used the filter for 12-cups yet but the 10-cup work prefect every time.
Perfect
September 22, 2016
Perfect fit for my 10-12 cup Mr Coffee. Easy to clean. Handle makes it easy to remove. Saves on paper filters.
Works Great! I Highly Recommend This Product.
February 25, 2014
I really wasn't sure about purchasing this item. Based upon the reviews I read here, I was concerned about two things. Would there be grinds in the coffee and how hard would the filter be to clean. I have been using this filter twice a day for five weeks and these concerns were laid to rest. Sometimes there is an extremely small amount of residue on the bottom of the cup which is a non issue. Just leave over the last tablespoon. As far as cleaning out the filter, simply run water through it then put it in the basket and rinse it out again. It couldn't be easier.

I will no longer have to deal with fluffing up a paper filter and hope that it doesn't flip down during the brewing process. As you all know this ruins the pot of coffee and you have to hope you have enough time to brew another pot. I will keep paper filters for emergency only and for those rare instances where I brew two pots simultaneously.

This item is a must have and I will never be without it.

Smaller than I thought.
October 6, 2017
I was concerned about this filter when I put in into my Hamilton Beach Brew station because the filter is smaller than the filter basket of the Brew station . It's not a snug fit at all, so you have to be careful not to spill the coffee down into the basket while adding it to the permanent filter if you have it sitting in the filter basket. It's better to just fill the permanent filter then set it into the basket. Otherwise the filter works well. I have only been using it for a few months.
Handy
May 7, 2017
Great alternative to running out and buying paper filters! You get used to a minor amount if coffee grind 'silt' sometimes at the bottom of a pot, but no biggee.SUGGESTION: go ahead and rinse this out and run to through the dishwasher so it doesn't have a funny flavor to your first 2 pots of coffee, After that--good to go!!
Works well
April 12, 2017
Mesh screen seems to work well. The concern I have is that it seems rather small for the coffee maker. Using 12 cups runs the risk of grounds overflow (experienced once). I measure down to 10 cups and it works perfectly. That aside, it is handy, easy to manipulate and insert into it's designated spot.
Works well
January 19, 2017
The filter works well in my Hamilton Beach coffee maker. It's a bit on the flimsy side, so I need to be careful when cleaning it. It wouldn't take much to break the handle and the mesh is very thin. Hamilton Beach claims that the filter is sized for my coffee maker, there is a good 1/2 inch gap between the filter and the receptacle all the way around. I just center the filter in the receptacle and that has worked so far. No spillage or overflow. For the price, the filter is a good deal.
Reuse and Reduce
January 16, 2016
Been using this product for around 6 months now. I didn't want to have to buy the paper filters, so this seemed like a much better option. I've been fairly pleased with the filter and its longevity. The only reason I would give this product 4/5 stars is when I brew my coffee sometimes there will be a small amount of residue in the bottom not caught by the filter. One thing you may not think about when purchasing is the cleaning process. Normally when I clean the filter I toss 2/3 of the grounds into the trash and then wash the rest into the sink. So just make sure you understand the cleaning process and if that will work with your living situation.Overall I've enjoyed the filter and it has done the job I've expected it to with the only shortcoming in the coffee residue area.
It works as well as a paper filter and definitely saves lots of paper!
September 25, 2015
Definitely saves a lot of paper, even though it requires cleaning after each use. It also takes up less space than a box and spare of paper filters. (It can stay in the dish-drainer or go back into the coffee maker instead of sitting in a drawer.)The porosity of the mesh is about the same as that of a paper filter, so you don't need to adjust the amount of ground coffee used per cup. After a month or so of use, it does not show any wear and tear, so we are already about even with the cost of paper filters. The size is slightly smaller than a standard filter, so it should fit any coffee maker that uses a standard paper filter.

Worth the $$...
June 26, 2017
Pretty good solution to the daily paper filter hassle. Be careful not to grind the coffee beans too fine as the filter will clog and overflow. Cleaning the filter is a little messy but most users won't mind a few coffee grounds going down the drain. I like the idea that I'm not running my coffee thru a paper filter that has been bleached with Chlorine.

May 5, 2017
Seems a little cheep construction wise, but works perfect. Just be sure to wash it out as soon as you are done with it, before the grounds dry.
Great product if you hate grounds in your coffee!
July 29, 2016
I bought this filter because my paper filters kept collapsing and grounds would get into my coffee. I absolutely hate the feeling of grounds in a cup of coffee. At first I used a paper filter with the permanent filter, but then I needed more grounds to get the same taste (surprise), but with more coarsely ground beans and this filter I was able to get better tasting, groundless coffee! The only drawback was that the filter was slightly smashed in the package. Luckily it straightened right back out. I really love how the handle makes it easy to clean up after the pot is done.
Does the job just fine, annoying to clean
February 11, 2015
I bought this for convenience of not having to always put in a paper filter. I've used similar gold filters like this before in my Cuisinart Coffee maker. The Cuisinart filter had a"V" shape at the bottom. This one is round at the bottom as shown. The sides are gold screen/mesh as show and the bottom is solid black plastic. The Coffee grinds then sit inside and on top of the plastic bottom. So it's not exactly like the water runs "through" the coffee grinds but rather the grinds become saturated at first and then the coffee essentially overflows from inside the filter into the carafe below. It might be better this way as the grounds may be in contact with the water a bit longer and so seep more coffee flavor out. I put flavored creamer in my coffee so most coffee tastes fine to me.

Updated 1/7/17: I used our coffee maker only about once per month for myself and/or special occasions for company. Otherwise we use a Gaggia brera espresso machine daily. So this filter, having a solid plastic bottom/base is just annoying to clean since you can't actually rinse the grounds straight out so it's a game of rinsing-tipping-rinsing-tipping. It's just annoying, nothing else terrible. Still seems to filter and and brews my coffee just fine.
Okay
June 15, 2013
The filter I received DID NOT have a plastic bottom as some reviewers have stated.
Couldn't tell you if this is an original or knock off brand but it is a fine quality and fits my need.
Well worth the price.

My only complaint is that some debris does get into the coffee...
However, I expected that it wouldn't be able to filter as well as paper before I bought it.

June 19, 2017
Bought for my Hamilton Beach coffee maker and find the sides too short for the maker and grounds were overflowing when we'd make a large pot. Had to buy a cone shape filter even though not that type it covers the side height issue and no more grounds in our coffee. Would have preferred to use the round filter though. Any advice greatly appreciated. Have the Hamilton Beach 2-way Flex brew 49983.
Good but small
June 18, 2017
I bought this to stop killing trees for paper filters. I like the idea, i like the design that is until i put it in the coffee pot. Its too small but it says its the right size for our coffee pot. Im not so sure about that.
Disappointed!
December 7, 2016
Can't really say much about this product as I have not been able to use it. It does not fit my new Hamilton Beach Summit Ultra (48465) coffee maker although it was supposed to. It will not allow the lid to close when it is inserted. This was an Amazon recommended add-on to my coffee maker purchase.
Works fine, but keep having issues with coffee too weak or too strong
July 3, 2016
I purchased this along with the Hamilton Beach 12-Cup Brewstation 48464 because I am used to using #4 paper filters and dislike the regular filters. Since I have been using this though, the coffee has come out either too weak for less than 4 cups or too strong for more. I am unsure if it is the coffeemaker or the filter that is the issue. I have yet to try a paper filter in this coffeemaker. I do agree that the filter is somewhat small for brewing 8 scoops of coffee or more, but I feel like if I put a paper filter in there, it would fold in and be a mess anyway so this is a better option.
thinking this one would be a perfect fit but it wasn't
September 9, 2015
As far as this basket being for the Hamilton Beach Brew Station It does not fill the entire circumference of the basket. I had an old one from my Cuisinart and thought it wasnt the right size, thinking this one would be a perfect fit but it wasn't. Its the same Gold coffee filter as others. Better off using paper filters which do fill the entire basket. I dont know if water bypasses the coffee grinds on the side of the basket or not but it just doesnt "feel" right. It works as it should though. I was just under the impression it would be an exact fit.
Great product, but wrong compatibility information.
July 5, 2015
Great product, but my only concern it is not compatible with BrewStation Summit Ultra 12-Cup Coffeemaker even though its features says it is. Basket height is too tall for BrewStation Summit Ultra 12-Cup Coffeemaker and its lid won;t close.I get my deals @ Gadgetar.com

Expected the bottom to be a screen also, but it's solid plastic...does not work for what I'm using it for...not coffee. I think for coffee it would be fine.
This might be due to the finest of the coffee grinds (I buy starbucks pre-ground coffee)
January 24, 2017
Solid product and fits right in to the Mr. Coffee GTF2-1. I have had the product now for over 6 months.

The only complaint I have is that it leaves a coffee residue in the pot / cup. This might be due to the finest of the coffee grinds (I buy starbucks pre-ground coffee). If I use a regular coffee filter I don't get any residue.

Cleaning: I empty out my coffee grinds in the trash then I have to rinse out the inside of the basket because there are still some coffee grinds left over.

August 7, 2015
Your product arrived very quickly and in excellent condition. It is very easy to use and fits beautifully into the machine. The price is fantastic!
The disappointing features are personal rather than mechanical. The taste of the coffee through the gold basket was not the same as with paper filters from my old coffee maker (Gevalia 12 cup). It was somewhat flat. Cleaning the filter was rather a chore as well and I am concerned about the waste of water in that effort. I'm keeping the filter, however, as it will be a great backup when I run out of paper filters.
OK HERES A GOOD QUESTION
October 22, 2014
OK HERES A GOOD QUESTION,,WHY DID MINE NOT HAVE THE HANDLE AS SHOWN HERE WOULD MAKE IT EASYER TO HOLD WHEN HOT GRINDS NEED TO BE EMPTY JUST WONDERING
Should be called "Coffee Screens" not "Coffee Filters"
February 8, 2013
Apparently there are two models of these filters, the one shown in photos above (solid plastic bottom) and the other I received from other seller of this model (cravingsavings). I received a screened bottom (not solid plastic) version similar to this Cuisinart model:

http://www.amazon.com/Cuisinart-GTF-B-Gold-Coffee-Filter/dp/B0001IRRLQ

Maybe the screened bottom is old design, maybe hard plastic bottom is new design or visa-versa...who knows.

Though the GTF2-1 was designed for a Mr. Coffee the filter seals perfectly in my 10 cup West Bend coffee maker.

In a paper filter (besides absorbing coffee bean oils), micro ground coffee particles clog pores of paper fibers and the hot water rises within the paper filter to find open pores to exit from. This “hot water pool” that occurs within the paper filter gives the coffee grounds time to saturate, sink, soak and bloom to release all its flavor before the coffee flavored water exits out the bottom hole in the filter holder.

This does not occur with these types of filters. Openings don’t clog with micro coffee particles so readily, thus the hot water practically runs right through not giving the ground coffee a chance to soak and bloom. Depending on the size of the exit hole in the filter holder and the coffee makers water dispensing spray head pattern (also clogged by minerals or not), water runs through this filter so fast that one can actually have the missed dry coffee grounds leftover after the brewing process. The water doesn't have a chance to “pool”. This is a waste of coffee and probably a weak cup of coffee too. Forget about “Good to the Last Drop”, you wouldn't want to drink what’s left at the bottom…ah…micro coffee sediment particles found!

So I feel, (if one had a choice in the matter) I would probably would have preferred the solid plastic bottom. Anything to slow down the water flow. For those who have large overzealous holes in their filter holders (like myself) stick with paper As for the small amount of “commercially ground” coffee bean oils getting through, it doesn't bother me, but for those who grind their own dark roast beans, concerns may be over watching their LDL cholesterol levels, definitely paper.

In conclusion, unless they can manufacture these with a finer pored screen, these so-called filter (more like “coffee screens”) are handy to have in case one runs out of paper filters. They save you a trip to the store.

December 20, 2016
The basket is fine. It just does not fit the coffee maker we bought that it's paired with (Hamilton Beach 12-Cup Coffee Maker, Programmable Brewstation Summit Dispensing Coffee Machine (48464)).It's just about 1/16 too tall so the lid does not close completely. There's really a very small gap so you could probably live with it, but we sent it back.
I don't recommend this because of that reason
January 16, 2016
I have had nothing but problems with the Hamilton Flexbrew so I am returning it (2nd model) and wanted to return this as well since it was purchased for that coffeemaker, but the shipping costs that I have to pay to return it are almost as much as the item. I don't recommend this because of that reason, it's very short and easily has the grounds overflow into your coffee. Maybe if it was a bigger basket, but don't waste the money because its not worth the return if you are unhappy.
Ehhh!
November 3, 2012
Probably does well in other coffee makers but not so well in the Hamilton Beach Ensemble. Brewed my very first cups of coffee woth the gold filter, the coffee came out a very light brown,I opened the top of the coffee maker and noticed not all off the coffee gorund had even been saturated. So i ran the same pot thru a second time and the coffee came out a little darker. Next I used a paper filter, the coffee came out the color it was supposed to be and all of the coffee ground had been saturated. There was a huge diffeence between the gold/paper filter. Although I would have rather used the gold filter since it allows alot of the coffe oils to remain in the coffee, I get such a better brew with the paper filter...less clean up too!

Grounds end up in coffee. We have worked with amount of grounds but it doesn't let enough water through in our Mr. Coffee 12 cup decanter coffee maker.

This was purchase to go along with the PSTX91 Coffeemaker for our son. He says that it filters fine but he finds it leaves a slight metallic taste to the coffee.
I wanted coffee and didn't want to wait on another so I did my best to work it back into shape
March 30, 2017
It works. My compliant was with the shipment. The box is flimsy and when they packed it with the coffee maker and was essentially squashed in transit. I wanted coffee and didn't want to wait on another so I did my best to work it back into shape. It will be forever creased but it works.
Fragile...use with care.
February 23, 2016
Only used it two weeks and it's already in the trash. My finger barely touch the top between the mesh and the plastic and made a hole. I was still able to make it work. Then it happened again only worse on another side. I bought it to keep filters out of the dump and now this "expensive" one has joined them.
nice idea, but too small
February 13, 2016
I thought this would work with my 12-cup Mr. Coffee machine. It fits into the coffee maker well-enough but it's is way too small to make 12 cups, unless you like really weak, bland coffee. The water-soaked coffee grinds spill over the side before the carafe is half full, resulting in a clogged drip path and sludge in the bottom of every cup.

What a waste of money
July 23, 2017
I never thought I'd say this, but I've gone back to paper filters. What a waste of money... and I've owned tons of coffee makers! This came recommended as a purchase along with the Hamilton Beach coffee maker which works just fine. But the water shoots right through it leaving most of the coffee grounds dry and the coffee weak! it's the strangest thing I've ever seen. Ugh! I've used it numerous times on multiple settings, and tossed the package. So now it's in the garbage. Get one at the grocery store if you need one real bad :(
Makes terrible tasting coffee
March 20, 2017
I've used reusable filters like this before but they came with the coffee maker as standard, not as an add on. For some reason the coffee I make using this thing tastes awful. When I use a paper filter, it tastes just fine. If you want to use a reusable filter, I would say look for a coffeemaker that comes with one. The "single-cup" brewer on my combination Hamilton Beach coffee maker has a reusable filter basket and I use that all the time (good taste), but when I brew a pot, I'll be sticking with paper filters.
Waste of money
March 12, 2017
This is the filter offered with the Hamilton Beach 48465 Brewstation. Guess what? It doesn't fit. The top will not close fully when the basket is inserted. What a rip! Luckily, it was only $5-ish.

Amazon pictured the wrong filter too go with Hamilton Brewstation 48465. I will be returning this. It's too narrow and tall. I can't close the lid properly plus it isn't a tight fit at all.
Looked like tea as you can see in the picture
January 2, 2016
I bought this for my Brew station. The coffee came out weak. Looked like tea as you can see in the picture. The regular looking cup of coffee is from a paper filter. both batches of coffee were made using the same amount of coffee and water.
More cups, more mess.
July 29, 2014
If you plan to make more than 4-6 cups of coffee (1 TBSP/cup) in your 12 cup coffee maker, this basket will not work - grinds splash over the edge into the strainer and pot. This is beneficial if you LIKE coffee sludge and want to shorten the life coffee maker; I do not. Currently seeking proper non-paper filter replacement. Any suggestions?

June 22, 2016
So disappointed! I am a fan of permanent gold tone after i used it in Cuisinart coffee maker. I needed a filter for Mr coffee frappe maker so ordered the filter. It fits poorly and i regret ordering it. After desperately searching for a product review of cafe frappe maker and failing to find one with permanent filter, i decided to write the review to give heads up to all of those who bought a cafe frappe maker and are considering permanent gold tone filter, please DO NOT BUY!
Does not quite fit
October 24, 2013
This filter is not really compatible with the charcoal water filter, which is a part of Mr. Coffee BVMC-SJX33GT coffeemaker. Without the charcoal water filter the coffeemaker does not work right, since the charcoal water filter distributes hot water over a large area. Bottomline: this filter is not compatible with Mr. Coffee BVMC-SJX33GT coffeemaker.
