Never use paper filters again--this makes for GOOD coffee!
August 31, 2017
Replacement for the last one that I accidentally threw out! Toss the paper liners--they aren't good for you anyway and are a waste of paper. This does the trick and it was for our 12-cup Black and Decker drip coffeemaker. LOVE it - so much more coffee flavor with these gold filters rather than the paper stuff.

Best replacement to the old paper coffee filter if your looking to save a little money and be environmentally friendly. Just make sure that when purchasing that it has the screen on the bottom too, not just the sides.
makes better tasting coffee them traditional paper filters
January 10, 2017
In my opinion, makes better tasting coffee them traditional paper filters. Saves money and better for the planet. Will let a little bit of sediment through, so just don't drink all the way to bottom of the cup (this is how people drank coffee before paper filters).
Works great. Saves me money
November 17, 2016
This works great. Not buying paper filters anymore. Easy to rinse. No grounds in my coffee. I would buy paper filters for my coffeemaker at work. When I went to work there would be no more filters. So no coffee. Now I can always make coffee. No problem. I save money too.
Workhorse
January 12, 2016
I've used a cone mesh filter but the coffee maker finally heated it's final pot and I had to buy a new one - with a flat-bottom filter. Reading the reviews I wondered whether it wouldn't overflow. I fill the grinder with beans and grind them to an almost espresso-like fineness and dump the entire batch into the filter. We like a very strong brew. The machine came through like a champ. No overflow and a good cup. It's noisier than my former Krups and the cord is very short, but, for the price? Thus far, perfection.
A Great and Inexpensive Filter
March 21, 2015
I have an 18 year old Proctor Silex coffee pot, which after a slight modification to its filter basket, was able to use this reusable filter just fine. I still use a paper filter inside of the reusable filter because it makes cleaning so much easier. (I didn't want to be clogging up my drain by daily washing down coffee grinds). But, I no longer experience collapsed filters which fills the carafe with coffee dregs. This a great product and was very inexpensive.

May Not Work Well For All
July 9, 2017
I have found this filter to work very well, with no noticeable grounds winding up in the cup or coffeemaker. However, that could be a function of the coffeemaker and the coffee you use, and so far I have only used it with one coffee brand in my Mr. Coffee 4-cup coffeemaker. It is very easy to clean. I cannot say that this filter will work well in every case, but I think it would be worth a try.
Good fit
April 16, 2017
Works well, fits my Mr Coffee 4 cup - "handle" is however useless as it came unattached and after snapping it in, it just falls down inside, unlike my other filter for full sized coffee pot which only goes down to level with top of filter
Fits great, works well. Worth the purchase price.
May 22, 2016
The only issue I had with this product was that the handle was not attached and was sort of a pain getting it through the small plastic holes. Other than that very minor frustration, it arrived on time, with the new 4 cup Mr. Coffee that it is meant to go with, and the fit is perfect and it works well. Seems fairly sturdy and not having to buy coffee filters is a wonderful plus. I am glad I made the purchase.
this evaluation written by a possible sort-of coffee expert
June 9, 2015
I own a Chemex (the one that looks like a nun when it has both coffee and filter), two Melitta cones (one-serving thingies that make a cup at a time, handy for those who want different coffees), a large French press and a smaller one (because my doctor suggested I drink less coffee), three ibrik (in different sizes), for making those teensie cups of coffee that make you faster than a speeding locomotive and able to jump over tall buildings with a single bound, and a 20-ounce automated Mr Coffee. (I used to have a Cory, too, but it broke.) I also used to have a 20-ounce Mr Coffee that WASN'T automated, for which I bought a mesh basket similar to this one. Of course the old mesh basket doesn't fit the new Mr Coffee, so I ordered this, hoping never again to have to search for UNBLEACHED 4-CUP Mr Coffee filters (which I suspect exist only in theory). Of all these, my favorite is the faster than a locomotive kind, with the French press second, but I read that that filtered is the healthiest, so usually . . .Amazon's description isn't specific about the mesh, but it looks to me very like the one that didn't fit, which reliable sources alleged to be actual gold. If you prefer to pick up a bleached paper filter and dump it in the garbage, give this a skip; but if you put the grounds in your plants or don't mind washing the filter, it's the only way to go.
Works perfectly, replaces hard-to-find paper filters for 4 cup
February 2, 2014
Tried to find this (4 cup) size of coffee filter in an affordable pack of paper filters in two separate supermarkets while shopping. Could not find anything worth the money. Decided to try this filter out, since at the low cost it would be worth it if it worked properly. It works great! The coffee goes out the sides through the mesh of the filter and makes a fine cup of coffee. This will save money in the long run with not having to purchase paper filters.Contrary to another review, I found this filter quick and easy to clean, like in under a minute! Here is how I have found it works well to clean:1. Just tap as much of the used grounds in the filter as you can into the garbage (tap while massaging the outside bottom of the mesh part where the grinds are to loosen the grinds);2. Then wash the filter from the outside in (through the mesh) by rotating as you run it under the faucet, from the bottom to the top;3. Finally, wash the inside of the filter from the plastic bottom up, until the remaining few grinds are washed down the drain in the sink.Main thing is to clean/wash the filter from the bottom up, so the grinds at the bottom will easily be worked up and out.Bottom-line: Not a whole lot to say, well-worth the money at under $6.00 currently!!!
Mr. Coffee Permanent Filter

Item is well made, does a good job of filtering and the price and free shipping can't be beat. I ordered a second unit just in case something happens to the first.

Working well so far

It has been a few months and the gold metal screen is slightly warped, but not damaged. The coffee grounds do not come out of the top when brewing.
First use today!

Used it today for the first time. Nice replacement for the 8 cup paper filters (that I always have a hard time separating). Have to see how it holds up over time....

November 28, 2016
These make great coffee, but the wire mesh on the sides and bottom is very weak. When you wash the coffee grounds out, the metal bends and bows at the slightest touch. You have to reshape them each use. If you don't mind the extra time spent, they do a great job.
slightly short
August 16, 2016
I love these reusable coffee filters in general, and this one does the trick. However, it is about an inch shorter than my last one, and so is more prone to letting coffee grounds spill over the side.
Sediment
March 28, 2016
Love this filter I use it everyday. The only thing I do not like is it does leave sediment on the bottom of your cup.
GOOD PRODUCT IF YOU DON'T WANT TO USE PAPER
November 9, 2015
This works well as long as you don't grind the coffee too finely for a full pot. If the coffee is too fine and you try to make 12 cups the screen has a tendency to clog up and the filter overflows grounds. For a smaller pot of Joe it has worked well although it takes longer to clean than just tossing a paper filter full of grounds.

Works as expected.
September 11, 2017
Makes a bit of a mess when I empty it by splattering all over because I have to tap the bottom. It manages to hit the wall sometimes, even when the garbage is nearly empty and I can reach down and try to keep it from splattering. Since I use a cloth to do a quick wipe, this is still more environmentally friendly than using paper filters.I give it a rinse and occasionally a good cleaning with a scrub brush, baking soda, and peroxide. It removes the stains and oils that make the coffee taste bitter.

July 14, 2017
The cup is hard to rinse out, since the bottom is solid. It will only hold enough coffee for 4 cups, and my coffee maker is five cups!
Pretty good
February 25, 2017
Working OK ... debated about drilling holes in the bottom for better flow, and using a paper filter inside ... defeating the eco purpose, I know. My elderly mom is the coffee drinker, and she doesn't have the steadiest hands -- so we use a paper filter inside the receptacle, then place this basket on top. No problems with flow either way.
not a perfect fit for a 5-cup machine but works fine
September 8, 2016
This filter works well and is easy to clean - my only complaint is the size, which is my own fault. I was looking for a 5-cup filter and someone indicated in reviews or FAQs that this one should fit, but it doesn't fill up the whole space in the machine. That makes sense because it is only for a 4-cup machine, and it works fine for my purposes because I only put in about 1 scoop (1/8 cup) per 2 cups according to the machine. If you are used to putting 2 scoops per cup, this filter would not likely hold all of the expanded grounds.
Works well
June 13, 2016
I really like this basket for my coffeemaker, however when I brewed my first coffee today, there were some grounds in the carafe. It is still better than the paper coffee filters by a long shot though. It's also easy to cleanand I don't feel like I am wasting paper. I like the handle, it makes it very easy to remove. I noticed that others for sale online did not have the handle so I am glad I went with this one,
Good if you care about trees.
September 25, 2015
Sometimes it takes time to clean, I mean it is evidently slower than just trowing away a paper filter. In this case, the ground coffe is wet and all packed inside the filter, so you have to use a spoon or something to get all the ground coffee out; which may take some precious seconds that could be used in something more productive. The good thing it's that it works really well with the Mr. Coffee DRX5 4-Cup, so I can't really complain about it.

January 29, 2017
It works great, however, when i put enough coffee in the fi, ter for 12cups thegrounds spew all over tne place. Not ig enough for 12. I wojld not use itfor more than 10 cups.
Bought for OXO Barista Brain. Fits, Kinda.
August 18, 2016
12-cups is a bit of a stretch, so is 10 for that matter. But it works OK for the OXO in small batches (and is better than buying specialty filters).
Weak Coffee
July 31, 2015
My coffee was so weak using this filter. I think it's because I use a mix of coffees and some are finer ground. This filter doesn't seem to allow good drainage like the paper ones do.
Okay
April 26, 2015
This is ok but is not tall enough to prevent overflow in my Bunn coffee maker. This is the same model as the one advertised by other sellers for Bunn. This one does not say bunn, but the measurements and the parent company are the same. Overflows and ground coffee in the pot often. I will probably look for a replacement.
Decent Product
April 12, 2015
I had a cone style coffee maker for years with a reusable filter and wanted a basket for my new Mr.Coffee that would save time and waste. This one adequately does both. Could it be better, yes..... the bottom of the pot does get a few fine grounds settled and I feel it could be a bit taller, but overall it performs like it is supposed to. No paper waste and easily rinsed. A nice alternative.
Makes my coffee taste different....
March 10, 2015
It is handy to have, for the times when you run out of filters, or if you are in a hurry (it lets the coffee perk a little faster). Oh yes, and for the "Green" preachers, it is more environmentally friendly. However, I prefer a good paper filter. I'm not sure if it's the plastic, or the fact that it does not filter as finely, but I don't like the way it makes my coffee taste. It generally is confined to the second half of the cup, and there is large amount of sediment, so I'm inclined to believe it is the latter of the two.

Should have shopped at Walmart first…
September 16, 2017
This product works great. It's easy to clean, and a very functional. The only reason that I rated it has three stars, is because it should have come with the coffee maker. After I purchased and received the Mr. Coffee on Amazon, I went to Walmart, only to find that the price was slightly cheaper, and included this coffee filter. Too bad I threw away the package and use the coffee maker… Oh well, the coffee still tastes good.
Great filter but wash carefully.
September 6, 2017
I have owned this coffee filter for quite a while. My main goal was to find an environmentally sound way to make my morning cup while not sacrificing on flavor or with loose grounds in my coffee. After a year plus of use, a small tear has developed on the filter that renders it ill suited for finer grinds. If you plan on using this short term to save on paper filters it should be fine. However be careful and avoid machine washing and it may last a bit longer.
Works okay, but paper filters work better.
June 14, 2017
I bought this because I liked the idea of having a permanent filter around. It works okay but I noticed that I have less grounds/residue in my cup of coffee if I use a paper filter vs this permanent mesh filter. I still use this filter occasionally but it's for this reason my boyfriend never uses it.
Good product
May 11, 2017
Good price and save money in paper filters but i think change the flavor because not filter a good amount of coffee. A paper coffee filter more flavor, more colour, dismiss more coffee aroma this not all i don't know it's my experience after a year.
Makes coffee like it came from a french press
April 13, 2017
I found that the handle is pointless because it gets covered in grinds anyway. Using this filter makes the taste/texture of my coffee come out similar to that of a french press. Not a bad thing, depending on your preferences - just be aware that you will be left with some fine grinds at the bottom of your pot as with a french press.
Okay, but still lets some particulates through
May 18, 2016
This filter is not your end filter. I have used this for coarse grinds for cold brews and auto drips. It is okay for quick and dirty filtering (literally), however, it does let some particulates through. I still use it a first step in filtering cold brews and then pass it through a paper filter to get the rest, otherwise I end up with black sludge in my cold brews :(. For auto drips, this will produce a weaker cup of coffee than paper filters since the pores are larger which results in less brewing time and you are more likely to find particulates in your coffee. Overall it is okay for a first filter for 2-3 step filtering process, but I would not use this filter by itself.

It lets the fine grounds through anyway
April 12, 2016
It lets the fine grounds through anyway. Commercially ground coffee, like name brands, simply leave a fine sludge in the bottom of the pot. We use a paper filter also to catch this silt. Which is ok because with just the paper the paper kept falling in on the coffee and letting the grounds run over the sides. At least this product keeps the paper sides up.
Mediocre
May 8, 2015
Purchased for our Mr. Coffee coffee maker. Found a much better permanent coffee filter in which I did write a review. I believe it was a BUNN and that one is by far the BEST. This one not so much as it is not tall enough. It does work but it's not meant for 10-12 cups or the ground coffee spills out of it.
Too Small for 10-12
March 30, 2015
Better for a smaller drip brewer. They claim it will fit in a 10-12 cup coffee maker, and yes it does, but so does a single coffee bean.
Works but don't like result
October 3, 2014
Works good as far as how much it holds, even the bunn coffee maker. BUT we discovered there was always a fine sediment in bottom of pot and cup. So it's on the shelf and we're back to paper filters.

Not recommended
August 9, 2017
Cheaply made - the handle would not stay attached and has since been lost for all eternity. The solid bottom leads to the basket not draining quickly enough, causing grounds to wash up over the edge of the basket while you brew if you make any but the weakest coffee. Prepare for a silty brew. Also the gold tone has disappeared over the course of just a few pots of coffee, leaving me with the unpleasant question as to whether there's been a little... chemical additive in my morning joe.
other than the fact that it's easy to clean and saves paper (hence the 2 star)
June 6, 2017
other than the fact that it's easy to clean and saves paper (hence the 2 star)..the product is very flimsy. The handle broken within seconds of opening the box.
Not great. Handle feature is worthless.
April 29, 2017
Plastic handle is worthless. Pops out every time you use it. Not sure if I am going to keep this product. Not a good fit for Mr. Coffee timer coffee maker.
Poor design
October 10, 2016
The bottom is complete plastic so it doesn't allow for good filtering of the coffee when it brews. The coffee has to filter around the sides in order to get through to the pot. Therefore the coffee is extremely weak. Disappointing.
Too small...should be larger
June 27, 2015
Tried it once and the coffee was fine but it is too small and unless you center it some of the water will bypass the grounds and I did not like cleaning it. After dumping the grounds into the waste basket you still get a lot in the sink when rinsing it. I will use it as an emergency backup if I run out of filters and that's all.
Good for weak coffee
April 3, 2015
This coffee filter does not hold the amount of coffee I like to use to get 4 cups of strong coffee so I had to go through the process twice which is quite bothersome. Used it for a few days and went back to paper filters.

It's in the garbage right now I received the solid bottom type. I used it in my Mr.Coffee 10 cup thermal pot daily. I noticed the coffee seemed weaker than the paper filter. I had to make a full pot to get a stronger brew. Plus the sides of the filter, though never put in the dishwasher, puckered up

Though advertised as such, it doesn't fit my Mr. Coffee coffeemaker
May 6, 2017
This was listed under 'frequently purchased with' when I bought my Mr. Coffee. Turns out it's too big to fit the removable filter basket. Not sure how this wasn't a problem for very many others, but no biggie, it was only 7 bucks.
Waste of money
May 1, 2017
It has no handle, and without one, too problematic for me. Back to a paper filter.
Will NOT fit Mr. Coffee 4 cup
April 26, 2017
Did not fit my brand new Mr.Coffee 4 cup at all, much to large, so much for the item name and description. Not worth the headache to return, so I guess I'm out the money. The product was poorly packaged as well; it's amazing it had not been crushed in shipping.
Watered down coffee

Produces watered down coffee. I'd have to use far more coffee grounds than usual to get the taste I was accustomed to with paper filters. I'm back to using paper filters.
