I've seen the other reviews complaining about grounds getting through, these people probably get their coffee from McDonalds daily. I normally use a french press, so this was second nature. If your grind is the right size and consistency, it won't be an issue.I bought this to go with a pour over drip coffee maker for backpacking, and it is perfect! I didn't want to not only have to pack around enough paper filters to not run out, but to have to carry them back out used. With this I can give it a rinse, let it dry, and pack it away.

Hi, I read most of the reviews. Was looking for one of these, number 2 size for my small 4 cup Kitchenaid red electric coffee maker. This fit perfectly. Hard time finding one everyone liked, but took a chance on this and I find this to be a nice quality, and if you take care with cleaning it, I believe it will outlast your coffee maker! I really like it and am happy with this product. Have fun making coffee or loose tea!

This filter combined with the "Melitta ready set Joe" single cup brewing cone allow me to brew consistently perfect Starbucks coffee in my Tassimo brewer again*. Paper filters absorb flavorful coffee oils, cost money and fill trash cans. This filter arrived quickly, but with a semi-circular basket handle rather than the internal blade handle that is pictured. The semi-circular handle snaps off if you don't need it.*Use the service disc in place of a T-disc (tape an old Starbucks barcode on the service disc). Use a gently rounded 1/4 cup of Starbucks prepackaged ground coffee loosely placed in this filter. It will take about 15 seconds to rinse the filter and cone when you're done - I have two filters so that I can brew again immediately while I clean the first filter. You will spend less than half as much on coffee as you paid for the Starbucks T-discs, and eliminate a lot of trash....and the coffee is appreciably better than Keurig and Verisimo brewed Starbucks coffee.

The filter I received is the kind with the handle. It fits into my filter holder with just a little wiggle room around the sides--nothing that would cause tippage or overflow. It produced very good coffee with these particulars:-Krups 2-cup machine (c 1990)-Cafe Goya (this is on the coarse end of espresso grind, I think)-when enough water drips into the grinds, give them a quick stirThe mesh does let the brew flow through a little faster than paper filters, and there are minimal dregs in the bottom of the cup--the kind you might get with a press. The filter is easy to clean; just dump and rinse well. Plus it's made in the USA and has a five-year warranty. I'm so satisfied with it, I'm planning to get a couple more for back ups.

We have two coffee machines and this product has seen heavy use, typically two or more times a day. Being even reasonably careful while washing it this product is durable remaining without defect after months of use. It wasn't until I started using it regularly and my coffee tasted consistently better that I realized it had previously tasted like paper filter bleach. As a simple and reliable way to get better tasting coffee this product is highly recommended.

I was not sure how the permanent basket idea would work out. I still use filters in my home coffee maker but I had a permanent one for my office coffee maker. It does not lose any grounds and the coffee comes out tasting just as good as with a regular paper filter.

Fits my new Mr. Coffee 12 cup coffee maker perfectly which is a very nice thing. It fits beautifully under the attached water filter and it does a wonderful job brewing a great cup of coffee. No residue or ground leakage or anything of the sort. I like the fact it has a small handle, and it is easily washable. I got it extremely fast, but my only complaint is that it came with almost 3/4 of the bottom bent in sections. It was easily bent back (well, most of it was) but it is still noticeable. I didn't deduct a star simply because it does not detract from the capabilities of this filter nor it's use, so I still like it enough to keep it at 5 stars :)

If you have to use a drip coffee maker then this is what you need to produce a decent cup of coffee. Paper filters adsorb the oils and flavors. This mesh basket allows all that coffee goodness to pass through into your cup. .Greener than disposable filters. There is no downside to these baskets.

I was using store bought "gold filters" which when it boils right down to it, are just a thread barrier woven up like a netting around a plastic frame, not worth the money you bought them with, whereas this filter not only does the job, but is damn near indestructible (my cats will pull it out of the machine when I'm not looking and start batting it around the room (they think everything in my house is just a toy for them). GREAT PRODUCT

I didn't care for the filter that my coffee pot had so after reading a few reviews, decided to try this filter. I am so glad that I did because it works very well. To me, it works much better than paper filters. The filter more evenly distributes the water and makes a very good cup of coffee. The description is very accurate of this product when it mentioned it was easy clean up I was very suspicious of who's version it was for easy clean up. So when i used it i was sure to put it to the test to see if it was easy, and to my surprise a little soap and water and it was clean like new well see how well it holds up a few years down the road but as of now it is great. Because I NEED MY COFFEE before I start my day. It was cheap and I am able to save money no problem. Another thing i love about it is the handle it makes it so much easier to get it out of the coffee maker and is another life saver. I have to many kids and messes to clean up so the easier you can make my day the happier I am. I recommend this product to anyone who is wanting to save some money and a bit of time cleaning up. So start clicking and purchasing away you won't be disappointed. I even went through buying my mother in law one and she was hesitant but after she used it she loved it as well.

Very good for coffee lovers as you get all the oils that usually get filtered away with the paper version

Good quality, fast shipping, reasonable price but does not fit my standard #2 pot. Could be that my pot is the problem (Farberware), but this is just a tad too tall; lid won't close.

It fits a little loose in the brewer I have but that does not seem to matter at all. It's durable and extremely easy to clean!

Bought this to use with a Mellita travel coffee maker. It does not fit into the basket that comes with it. BUT,,,,, it fit's perfectly if you use it without basket. Just slide in, in place of the original!!

Have a little bit of silt/grinds that come through but not too bad. Feel better about not wasting so much paper anymore.

Nicely made, and perfectly sized to fit inside the standard Melitta cone. However, the mesh is just open enough to permit the passage of too many fines for my taste. As it turns out, the standard Melitta paper filters perfectly, put "glues" itself to the sides of the cone to cause glacially slow pass-through. This filter is the perfect solution, as it stands away from the sides of the cone for fast liquid passage, and will also accept the standard Melitta paper cone so that the combination of Melitta basic plastic cone plus this filter plus standard Melitta paper cone provides fast brewing of coffee without solids. Very satisfied. Were it fine enough, I'd have willingly given 5 stars.

It does exactly what it's supposed to, I just didn't realize how annoying it would be to clean a large amount of grounds out of one of these. That's my only qualm, but it's minor and the product is solid. Mine came a little bent up because of the way it was shipped, also. Good product, would recommend.

This shipped to us in a soft envelope, without packaging. While the cost was low, this resulted in the product being dinged and bent up (it's a metal screen, and the creases remain). It fits out coffeemaker, and works despite the damage. Price was good, just disappointed in the arrival.

I have been using it for awhile now every day and it has been fine.

I love not having to worry about running out of filters. It does not give coffee a metallic taste like some do. I would recommend it to everyone.

I love it that I may be saving a tree by not using paper filters anymore, but I don't love the sediment that gets through this filter and into my coffee. Good to the last drop? Not quite! In fact, be sure to through out those final few sips in your pot. They're deadly, LOL. Otherwise, this works as intended. Mine is a year old and still looks like new.

Sadly, the filter doesn't work for a European coffee ground and lets too many grounds through the filter. I was really looking for something to replace the paper filters so I am back to the papers...

I got this to save on paper filters to be more environmentally conscious. It works, but it does leave very fine sediment in the bottom of the coffee cup after drip-brewing. I guess that is okay if you don't drink the last little bit.

I bought this for use in my ceramic pour over. I was tired of going through so many paper filters. The hot water runs through it too fast to brew the grounds in this form. It makes a lackluster tasting cup of coffee and leaves your cup with soupy grounds at the bottom because they pass through. So, probably not good for pour over coffee filtering because the coffee is ground finer. Would've been a great money savings. The quality is nice. It has a built in handle to lift and remove it. You will have to rinse it very well or hand wash it with every use.

I was excited about a mesh filter but I would recommend it only if you have a disposal in sink because it is very hard to get the grounds out. I alternate it with paper filters but am not using it all the time. So, the filter itself is great but disposing of the grounds makes it less than ideal.

As far as permanent filters go, this is great. What it doesn't do as good of a job of is keeping all particulate matter out of my coffee. I still have to use a filter to keep all contaminates from my coffee.Perhaps that makes me a snob? So be it, but a snob that wants "chunks" out of my beverages.

I purchased the filter to ue with the Zojirushi EC-DAC50 Coffeemker. It had been recommended from another revies. It really does not fit properly on the Coffeemaker but it can used anyway. Coffee grounds do penetrate the filter. I would not purchase it again.

I hadn't noticed in the picture when I first looked at it but this unit has a solid plastic bottom. Ones I've owned in the past have had mesh bottom which is better for even-flow. This unit is also smaller than I expected. It fits comfortably inside my standard paper coffee filter. My concern is that if I try to brew a 12 cup pot with the recommended amount of coffee the water will overflow (the solid bottom doesn't help either).With those design flaws noted, the unit itself does seem well fabricated. I don't have any problems with the quality of what I received.

It's okay. I mainly use it to move my filter basket to the trash and dump it out as I haven't used the Gold Tone Coffee Filter by itself since the first week I had it other than the few days when I was out of filters. It is obviously a mesh and so the very fine residue of the ground coffee gets through the mess and so you have a little bit of mucky sludge at the bottom of your cup.

Because it did not have other pictures, I did not realize the bottom was solid plastic. Most coffee filters have mesh also on the bottom.

Unfortunately I didn't read the description very well because I didn't realize it has a solid bottom to this filter! It states clearly in the description that it has a solid bottom- which if I had read that I wouldn't have bought it. The solid bottom keeps the water from traveling all the way through this item and so sometimes it causes the water and grounds to overflow. I appreciate that the people selling this item stated that very clearly in their description but I didn't pay attention to that. So, my advice is to take note of the fact that it has a solid bottom, and if that is what you want then by all means buy it, but if that is going to get in the way of what you truly want you may want to do some more research!

I bought this at the same to I purchased our coffee maker that used basket-type filters. I had paper filters, but I thought this would be more environmentally friendly. In the long run, I though it would be cheaper to use than paper filters. Before I used it the first time, I gave it a thorough warm-water wash with soap to remove any manufacturing residue. Two uses later, I switched back to the paper filters. I'll put aside that it was very messy to clean after each use and just mention that it imparted a definite metallic taste to our coffee. Perhaps other, more expensive filters of this type do not have the same effect, but this one did. i guess you often get just what you pay for, and this is one of those cases. At 6 bucks, it was a total waste of money. Fortunately, it is recyclable, which is just what I did with it..NOT recommended!

If you're expecting this to immediately replace your paper filters, be aware that you will need a coarser ground. With standard pre-ground coffee that works fine with paper filters, tiny grounds seep through the metal mesh and spoil the coffee. I'll experiment with coarser ground -- AFTER I buy more paper filters to get through the coffee I already have

It is much to large for the 5 cup Hamilton Beach Model 48137.

The mesh is not small enough. A lot of residue is in the bottom of my cup.

This isn't a filter, it's a strainer. I should have known that this can't be used as a pour over filter, since the water does not back up at all to spend time soaking the grounds. I would definitely recommend a nylon version of this for ADC too since nylon mesh is much finer.

I wish I had read the reviews before purchasing. I hate the sludge and fine particles in my coffee, it changes the taste and prevents me from finishing a cup of coffee. I wanted to be more environmentally friendly and not throw out those little papers, but this wasn't worth it. May try to return it to the company since I bought two of them

I wanted to avoid paper filters. But this one, as everyone warned me, does not filter fine enough. Leaves a LOT of residue on the bottom of my coffee cup. Since I like to drain my cup, having sludge in my mouth at the end of a cup of coffee is unpleasant, to say the least.Moreover, it doesn't fit the Melitta one-cup brewer. It sticks up a 1/2 inch or so, which means you must be extra careful when pouring hot water or you'll have all over the counter or your desk.

I got this for my Hamilton Beech so I wouldn't have to get the paper filters. But it doesn't fit. It has some extra plastic on the bottom that doesn't let it sit solidly in the top of the maker. So I had to get the paper anyway. Disappointed.

So much coffee gets through this filter that I still have to use a paper filter.

I purchased this for my small 5 cup coffee pot. It says that it takes #2 size filters. While this is a "#2".....It does not fit! It is too tall. I tried to just trim down the edges rather than return it. Well, It still won't work, and of course I can't return it now that I've "damaged" it. Be sure to check that this will fit with your specific coffee maker brand. :(

Solid bottom, so water doesn't flow through well. Makes a doggone mess.

Pure junk! It came crushed like it has with other people and there's no way it's large enough to do 12 cups of coffee.

This does not have straight, neat sides of mesh. It is bent, crushed and warped. There are no holes or mesh on the bottom, so the coffee will have to leak out of the sides. Poor design; not efficient.

Basket was crunched when I received it. Not worth paying to return.

Was loosely packed with no protection. I received it flat. I did straighten it out but the plastic holding up the sides is broken. Not worth the price to return it. Will get another when I can get to a store.

this product shipped to me broken, material is very cheap feeling, not like any carrier that comes with an actual pot
