Five Star Reviews: | 86% There are no reviews yet | 88% Great product, not cheaply made at all September 6, 2017 Great product, not cheaply made at all. The price is low but the product sturdy,I am very happy with my purchase. The only drawback is not with the product but with my lawn mower chord holder (I can't think of the exact wording, but it's the thing that keeps your cord from getting unplugged but holding the cord), The cord holder is too small so I just make a knot on the handle.Good deal, don't hesitate to buy.https://www.amazon.com/dp/B002HWRS6S/ref=cm_cr_ryp_prd_ttl_sol_22https://www.amazon.com/dp/B002HWRS6S/ref=cm_cr_ryp_prd_ttl_sol_22 very nice heavy cord i only use this to run a ... April 1, 2017 very nice heavy cord i only use this to run a 110v hobart mig welder off of a 30amp outlet cord never gets hot and the breaker never pops like it did with the standard size cords High quality extension cord. September 27, 2016 Thick, high quality cable - I can believe it really is 12 gauge, compared to some other versions that say 12 gauge, but are really 14 or smaller to skimp on cost (copper is expensive). The fact that it is Made in the USA is great. If you need to run high-current tools on an extension cord, this is your answer. My previous cord (admittedly, it was 14 gauge) would get warm due to the higher resistance combined with high load, whenever I used tools like a circular saw, or especially if I ever plugged in a space heater. This cord never gets warm; the 15A breaker will trip before the cord becomes the bottleneck in the electrical path. can handle power tools and welders April 17, 2015 Com'on guys- 16 gauge cords are for LAMPS! THIS 12 ga can handle power tools and welders- the price difference is nominal and the difference is noticeable. the lower the number, the thicker the wire. 12 is thicker and can handle more amperage than 16. the '3' means it has a ground pin and corresponding third wire vs the 2 wire ungrounded sort. Quality product by US wire and Cable.Used one for my 100 amp mig welder last year- would not risk a fire from 16 gauge cable...(They get 'hot': amps through too thin a cable) Made in USA February 7, 2012 It's worked fine for me. Has UL/OSHA approval makings. It has look and feel of what it purports to be: a very well made, very heavy-duty, outdoor rated 12/3 extension cord. Price unbeatable. Nothing against Chinese and other foreign made stuff in terms of quality and in fact have many foreign made items, but will always buy USA made first if offered and that's increasingly a challenge. Trips to Home Depot, Lowe's and local stores can be sad affairs as every single fastener, nut, bolt and screw along with just about everything else is from outside USA. Couple of hundred $$$ spent on a visit and I walk out with nothing made in my own country and it's a bummer. The "US Wire 65050 12/3 50-Foot SJTW Orange Heavy Duty Extension Cord" here is an Excellent product, great price and made in USA and looks like it will more than pass the test of time. Best cord for the money. Incredible price September 18, 2009 I was very skeptical about ordering this cord because it is so cheap. But after getting it I am very surprised at the quality. And its OSHA approved. And the shipping was free is you have Amazon Prime. You can't get a 12/3 cord at Home Depot for this price, I think they are close 40 bucks. As a contractor I will probably order 10 more of them just to have on hand at this price. Don't be bothered by the lack of a photo, I almost didn't order it because of that. You will be happy you bought this one over the others that are much more money |
Four Star Reviews: | 11% There are no reviews yet | 9% Solid cord October 2, 2015 Solid construction. The plug ends are neither binding nor loose. For this gauge, good price. Good all-around heavy gauge extension cord July 14, 2014 Good heavy gauge extension cord for running higher amp tools. During long work days have never had problems with this cord heating up. Great for general use. Works great with mower and other tools July 9, 2014 Works great for my electric mower. The only issue I have is that it is so thick it won't wrap into the cord wrap/holder. Its Electrifying! October 5, 2013 Purchased this heavy duty extension cord for use with my portable generator. Works great. Excellent quality, and great price. No problems. |
Three Star Reviews: | 2% There are no reviews yet | 1% seems pretty good quality and great price October 29, 2015 seems pretty good quality and great price.uipdate 1/4/17: the female end is worn out. It will spark and not work with anything you plug into it. I am sure I can replace end and it will be better than new, however, it has not saw a lot of use, should have lasted better. The cable itself and the male end are holding up well. I use it every day but didn't last long. ... May 23, 2015 I use it every day but didn't last long. The ends started to crack and I need to get a new one. A little disappointed January 28, 2015 I'll give it his 3 stars because mine was not made with the rubber insulation/sleeve I thought it should have had. I was under the impression it would be more flexible and less resistant to kinks than it is, after reading the description and reviews. Maybe I missed something... 50-foot SJTW Orange Heavy Duty Extension Cord April 6, 2014 This purchase was made because we needed an extension cord for our electric leaf blower/vacuum and it is ideal for that. Our yard is about 100 feet by 100 feet and it barely manages. bummer March 19, 2014 One of two cords I bought this one didn't work but I didn't find out until I was on the jobsite I discovered that the male end was faulty so I cut it off and replaced it with a spare I had in my truck and luckily it worked. |
Two Star Reviews: | 1% There are no reviews yet | 1% 50% mortality October 13, 2014 Purchased 2 of these extension cords. One of them is still working well. The other failed after just a few uses, of course after the return period. The failure looked to be from a bad termination on one wire. A few bucks for a new plug got it working again. 50% failure is inconvenient, but not bad for the price overall. Insulation Came Torn June 30, 2014 I have a couple of the yellow jacketed versions of this cord, but I saw the orange jacket one and thought that I'd save a couple bucks.Mistake.The orange insulation on this cord is much thinner than that on the (marginally more expensive) yellow jacketed cords. In fact, the cord I received had a torn/melted spot all the way through the orange jacket. This was well inside the packaged coil, and was definitely not damaged during packaging or transit (the cardboard sleeve it comes wrapped in was pristine, as was the box Amazon packed it in.) I'm glad I spotted it before running power through it as it was a definite fire hazard.I'll go back to the yellow cord version and spend the extra couple bucks. This one is going back to Amazon. The 50ft yellow jacket version is here:[...] Bad connector April 11, 2014 I purchased this extension cord based upon the great feedback here. Unfortunately, the electricity only flows when the male side is at a certain angle. I will say that it appears to be of good, heavy gauge. YMMV. |
One Star Reviews: | 0% There are no reviews yet | 1% Expensive. Quality of Prongs/electrical contacts cheap. June 10, 2017 You get much better quality with less than half the price in Costco.Metal electrical contacts are flimsy/cheap. Piece of junk May 22, 2015 Piece of junk , have been using it for no more than two weeks and the wire casing has separated from the plug.I 'll probably be able to see all three wires soon. The people selling this carp should be ashamed. Bad cord May 16, 2014 The cord conn. burnt up on the first use still using a 10 year old cord that works. will never by again Dead on arrival April 11, 2014 The female connector is not properly connected. I hooked up my volt meter and if I wiggle the cable around at various angles I will occasionally get power, but I can't get it to power on consistently at any angle. After a lot of twisting and various methods to try to get it to maintain a connection it finally stopped passing current at any angle.I was never able to use this cable. It did not work upon arrival. I spent about 30 minutes troubleshooting it and then threw it in the trash. Brand New & didn't work February 19, 2014 I was excited to find HD Ext Cords at such a great price BUT when it came time to use them 3 of the 6 that I bought didn't work - AT ALL!!! This was a big problem - caused my crew of employees down time on site & angered our customer. |
