Five Star Reviews: | 72% Easy to wash out September 25, 2017 I last used Floyds but couldn't find it on Amazon prime so I ordered this instead. Comes with a lot more product in the container. Smells good but I still prefer the fresher smell of Floyds. Suavecito holds great and washes out easy. It's a huge upgrade over the old Tres Flores pomade I used back in the 90s that took forever to wash out. Orale Suavecito Businessman Cut with Style September 18, 2017 I needed a pomade that provided a decent hold throughout the day but didn't cake up or flake. I have a business cut with a slight fade and I need my hair to retain that professional look during the day. I gave Suavecito a shot and I am very happy with the results.Opening the jar for the first time, I was very happy by the smell of the pomade. It is a slightly musky yet sweet cologne scent that is not overpowering by any means. I hadn't told my wife that I had tried Suavecito and she said that the scent smelled really good, which is a lot to say considering she doesn't care for most cologne scents.I took a finger scrape from the jar, rubbed it in my hands and worked it into my slightly damp hair starting from the top. The product went on very well and was easy to work into my hair. I styled my hair with a Kent comb and was able to easily style my hair. My hair was left with a good hold that didn't make me feel like I have helmet hair. The hold stays firm throughout much of the day and if I ever need to touch it up a little towards the evening, I just I apply a little water to my hands and work it into my hair and comb it through. The hold naturally isn't as strong as the first application but still decent. The product is super easy to wash out with just water too. If you have a business cut and looking for a good hold I would highly recommend this product. Best Hair Product Ever! September 12, 2017 I must say that this product has overly exceeded my expectations. I had a friend who recommended this product as I have been using all types of hair product and it was frustrating as I could never find the right one. I would buy one and it would flake which was ugly and then I buy something else and it would either leave my hair stiff like concrete or super oily like a grease trap. But, when I used this product it was like the Goldie Locks of all products. It doesn't flake, harden, and it is not oily which is the perfect hair product I have been looking for. This is definitely my go to product for my hair and I definitely recommend this product to anyone. Power to the Pomades! August 4, 2017 Never used a pomade until my barber introduced me to this product. Now it is part of my daily hygiene ritual. It leaves my hair with a slicker look without being wet or greasy. What a cool product that I teamed up with a Kent Gentleman Folder comb for a nice look. 100% recommend; I love the stuff. July 21, 2017 to keep it short and easy; this is, hands down, the best pomade I've used in this price range. Honestly, I'd say it's comparable to brands in (much)higher price ranges. Great smell, and a good hold that keeps your hair in place, without hardening it or leaving you feeling goopy. It also eliminates my frizz, tames my curls, moisturizes my hair, and gives it that "nice, healthy shine". Perfect hold and easy washout March 8, 2017 Fantastic hair product. Large size lasts a long time. I have thick heavy hair and this keeps it held tight without the white residue or stickiness aftermath. I wear a faux hawk and it keeps it solid. quick rinse in the shower and hair feels like it never had product in it. | 46% Works great, easy to wash out with correct shampoo October 8, 2017 Great for that "just out of bed look" for short to medium length hair. For those that have problem getting it out of their hair, first take a look at how much you are using, because the tiniest bit will work, especially for shorter hair. Next, try using a Daily Clarifying and\or "For Oily Hair" shampoo, like Suave Daily Clarifying Shampoo With Deep Cleansers(444ml) 0764409 . I use both daily and I don't have any oily buildup when I get my hair styled. nice. December 6, 2015 I love this stuff. Smells great. Has a great hold. Shipping was speedy and all that. Definitely buying more when I'm out Finally! November 20, 2015 Have been looking for a less expensive alternate to Crew Pomade. Used it for the first time today and I think it is the one! I've tried bout 6 other products that just didn't have the hold for my hair that wants to take off in every direction. Great Scent and Hold September 28, 2015 It smells amazing. Keep in mind your hair will feel and look a little greasier with oil-based pomades but it might be the aesthetic you're going for. I like the effect better than most water-based pomades but I wouldn't use this as my main pomade day in and day out, just a few days week. |
Four Star Reviews: | 12% Good stuff, overall August 20, 2017 Good stuff, overall. Solid hold without any shine whatsoever. Keeps hair looking completely natural. Washes out easily.Don't buy in that it's a substitute for wax, though, as the marketing would have you believe. It's not nearly as strong as wax. One of the best there is, but not shiny April 18, 2016 I'm a white male and I have a very, very, very dry and thick hair and trust me I've used everything, from home made oils, cheap wholesale gels to $50 hair products. It's impossible to manage it. So if you have thin or oily hair, don't need to read the rest of this comment. For this exact product, well.... it's complicated. It definitely does the job, it holds my hair the way I wanted all day long and I can just spray some water and re-style it HOWEVER it certainly is not a product that gives a shiny look. I watched on youtube people using it and it shines but on me, NO, NO WAY. Besides that I don't believe that there is a stronger pomade than this. If you blow dry your hair, it'll look amazing, but not shiny. This product is one of the best I've ever tried. you should have this. Smells pretty bad...at first February 28, 2016 Let's get the negative out of the way. This stuff does not smell good when first applied. You're going to put it into your hair and think,"!@#$ me, what have I bought?"The good news is that smell fades after, I dunno, 20 or 30 minutes? It holds well and washes out easily in the shower -- something I cannot say for the AXE products. Great Pomade! Styles Great, All Day Hold, Washes Out Easily! August 11, 2015 I love this pomade! I've tried a lot of pomades, some petroleum based and some water based. I love the hold and look of the petroleum based, but getting it out is a PAIN!After trying lots of water based pomades, Suavecito is know the one I buy over and over again. I usually keep both the regular and firme on hand. It goes in my hair easy and comes out even easier. For my hair style, I find that adding it to my slightly damp hair and then styling works best for me and gives me the sheen I like. I get a great all day hold and don't even bother carrying a comb with me. The only down side of going with the water based pomade for me is that if you live in a rainy climate (like I do!) then a good rain can be disasterous for your hair. I've never had much luck re-style my hair with water based pomades, so if it looks like it is raining I do what I can to protect the hair. The only reason I didn't give Suavecito 5 stars is because I'm not really a huge fan of the scent. It isn't terrible by any means, but I would prefer a "fresher" or "tropical" scent. Suavecito has more of an Old Spice scent. I don't find the scent too overpowering though, so it doesn't deter me from buying again.I would definitely recommend trying this product if you are on the fence or just looking for a new pomade to try. New favorite June 29, 2015 So I just started getting into pomade a few weeks ago and this is by far my favorite. I originally started with American Crew but due to is medium hold, my curly hair started to go to its natural shape and I couldn't find a stronger hold from this brand. Enter this one that I originally borrowed from my brother. My hair is fine and curly so this holds it nicely and doesn't add too much weight and I get good volume and the smell is great. I only need about half to a three quarters of a fingertip to get a good hold. It's also easy to brush later in the day and maintains the shape and hold you would want. Shine isn't really my thing but this gets some shine to a matte with my hair. I also took off a star because it does tend to garden and clump sometimes. Other than that, I really recommend this. So pretty much... Gel? January 5, 2015 I decided to grab me a little tub as an add on to an order.I typically wear a pompador most days. Black, shiney, slick.... or I try anyway.I have used Murrys orange can for years which I like enough but it's difficult to completely wash out and leaves your hair sticky when it's cold and greasey when it's hot. That said the hold is amazing and the 3~4$ can lasts a while.I am always pn the look out for alternatives. Currently I am using Magic Sporting Waves which I really like. The Sporting Waves washes out so much easier than the Murrays and yet retains the reworkability that I like in pomades. So the Suavectito.... well it arrived quickly. The can is cool looking. I open it up and it's a clear and rather pretty deep amber. Smell is very nice.So yeah... it's pretty much hair gel. It works well, just like a gel and hardens like a gel. It doesn't feel like a pomade to me though. I'm not digging that it hardens like a gel. That said for gel it's fine gel. Not flakey, holds well enough. But it is not really what I would consider a pomade. The can looks pretty bicthin on the counter though and maybe sometime I may need a product more like a gel but I think I will be sticking with the Magic most days. | 20% Does the job September 6, 2017 My first use of "Pomade" does the trick, hair stays in place. Are all pomades built like this one? A little too much hold, this stuff is really ... February 5, 2016 A little too much hold, this stuff is really hard to work with and difficult to wash from you hands unless you are using a very high temp water. It does however perform as advertised. Super hold December 22, 2015 This stuff works to hold my hair where I want it all day long, and maybe the next day. It doesn't wash out easily at all because its not water based. Good if used right December 4, 2013 Its good if you heat up the product since the product is hard as a rock. The prospect gives you a nice throwback look and gives you that sick 1940s hairstyle. The con is that it is really hard to wash out of your hair and your have to really heat it up before applying Decent March 18, 2013 Murray's is a pretty good product, I have used Brylcreem which smells awesome and is non-greasy, but in my thick hair didn't hold.(My hair is like a Johnny cash Pompadour/Sean Connery In his Bond days.) I don't apply it all the way through my hair, (It looks too greasy)I put it on the pompadour part so I can keep it up. Overall I like it and it should last a long time for 4.23$. use to slick down your hair, help with the fly aways, I messed up... August 5, 2012 I didn't love it. I wanted to. I am new to short hair and find that a cream for texturizing makes a huge difference in the end style of my hair. Gives that definition I am looking for. With this I find no matter how little I do use I just look greasy. Maybe it is better for men but it didn't do it for me. I gave it several tries but I will stick with a cream. This is a harder base more like chap stick is, not that hard but you get the idea. What it would be good for is if you have a pulled back style and want to slick down all those fly-a-way ends. This would be your product! Perfect for that kind of styling or for men's hair. Now if I really read, it does say: Works best with VERY short hair and slicking down tight to head or hold up a stiff flat top, etc. Yep, would be perfect for that but not `sort of short hair.' Not a `texturizing kind of product. It is a good price and used for its intension then yes, it could be a good product! I gave it a four star based on not what it did for me but it will do what it says it will do. Not too gooy but would slick back hair nicely. It wasn't what I was looking for. |
Three Star Reviews: | 7% Smells terrible August 28, 2017 I couldn't stand the smell so I returned it. As far as I could tell worked well except for the smell. I prefer this version to the firme because it does ... December 11, 2016 I prefer this version to the firme because it does not get as crunchy. Still not what I'm looking for (hold without crunch). It's okay but you can get almost the same results with gel at half the price. Does the job. Heavily scented though. November 27, 2016 Does the job. Cheaper than Layrite - but I don't think I'll be back...a little too much scent for me. Meh February 29, 2016 Bought this for my sons to use on their hair. It has a strong fragrance which isn't too pleasing, but my boys seem to like using it. I probably won't buy it again as I've noticed it doesn't hold their hair in place for very long. It smells good, but it is overpowering October 12, 2015 After reading rave reviews for Suavecito, I decided to give it a try. The smell is very strong... It smells good, but it is overpowering, in my opinion. This water based pomade is easy to use and apply to your hair, but it won't straighten out any waves and the hold isn't as strong as I was expecting.Overall, if you have shorter hair this product will probably do the trick, but if you have longer hair and are looking to style your hair as a pompadour, etc, I recommend you look to something stronger. I really like Goon Grease, but to each their own. Great product with a opinionated smell August 20, 2015 The product itself is great, holds my hair in place for the entire day. I have wavy/curly hair which gets relaxed often. They helps maintain the style I like until another relaxing is needed. The pomade dries quickly and even once it dries, I can still style my hair, giving it more volume and smoothing out all the parts that clump together. I'm not too fond of the smell, in my opinion it's far from subtle. I've had people complain my "cologne" is too strong. I'd agree if it wasn't a hair product, and having that smell just above my nose can get a little overwhelming throughout the day. I guess it all comes down to smell sensitivity, but for me it's just too strong. | 11% Good but sticky May 17, 2017 Much stickier than I was hoping for. This does have great hold and shine but its just too sticky for me to order again. I bought three cans of Murray's Superior. I can't say I'm in love with it March 21, 2016 I bought three cans of Murray's Superior. I can't say I'm in love with it. I like the wax pomades better due to the control they give my hair. Murray's doesn't give you much control for styling. The wash out isn't a big deal for me like other people because I've never been in a panic to wash it out in one wash. Having used pomades for a while now, I realize that they take a little while to wash out. Murray's pretty much comes all the way out in one wash for me when I use Dove shampoo or American Crew Shampoo. Murray's is a great pomade if you use just the right amount. If your looking for a slick, then obviously you're going to use a lot of it. But if you want to style your hair like George Clooney, then you need to use just a little. If you use too much, then your hair is going to look oily and it will weigh down your front bangs. My hair is kind of thin, so it doesn't work well for me when I use a lot of it at one time. Also, if you try and use a topper like Royal Crown hair dressing with it, you might not get good results. It seems to work better with Murray's Hair Glow or Excelento for some reason. Highly recommended that you play with the product to warm it ... January 23, 2015 Highly recommended that you play with the product to warm it up before applying, and also be aware that you don't need more than a dime sized amount per day! Meh September 14, 2014 When everyone is saying it doesnt wash out, they meant it. Its hold is okay, doesnt really hold my hair, except if like, the temperature is X and the wind isnt blowing and it hasnt rained in a few days sort of thing. Not bad, but can find better. Curly Wavy hair February 12, 2014 Well my friend recommended this to me and for him it works great. I bought some and for me it does not work at all since I have Curly Wavy hair all it does is make it greasy. So if you have curly wavy hair I would avoid this. |
Two Star Reviews: | 5% Whoof October 28, 2017 One whiff of this pomade and I just screwed the cap back on. The smell stayed in my nose for hours. Old Spice and Axe come to mind. I will just stick with good old Layrite. I don't even know why I tried something else. It also doesn't wash out as easily as the label claims April 2, 2017 This is the most mediocre "pomade" that I have used, and I wouldn't even call it that. It's a gel, plain and simple. It also doesn't wash out as easily as the label claims, which drives me mad because I hate having the smell transfer to my pillow cases even after washing my hair 3 times. From using other much better pomades such as Anchors, I've gotten used to the idea of not having hard crunchy gel hair, which makes suavecito my last choice out of all of my pomades. I've used it maybe 2 or three times since buying it 2 years ago. Strong perfume. March 16, 2017 Product performs just fine, but the perfume smell in unbearable. No need to add perfume to a hair product - I can apply my own perfume if desired. The scent was so overpoweringly bad that I was forced to return it March 15, 2017 The scent was so overpoweringly bad that I was forced to return it. If you are looking for a light or mildly scently scented pomade, this is not the product for you. BUT it stinks like cheap old spice or axe November 1, 2016 I guess it works alright, BUT it stinks like cheap old spice or axe. The smell puts me in a bad mood. They should deliver it in the back pocket of some bedazzled jeans. Crunchy August 22, 2016 I have to say I'm not impressed. The reviews had me excited, but this stuff just doesn't do it for me. I had grown to like my Crew Pomade, but it was so expensive, and I had to use a lot of it to hold my hair in place effectively. This stuff makes my hair crunchy... kind of feels like it has hairspray in it. When my hair gets out of place during the day I can't run my hand through my hair to put it back in place. With this pomade I have to re-wet my hair to restyle. Very annoying. So far it seems like I can get decent volume out of my hair with this, and it does look decent... just doesn't shine as much as Crew or Teddy Boy. I'm excited to buy something else. This was a waste of money. I hate crunchy hair. | 8% Two Stars November 9, 2015 Holds great and looks awesome --- slick and shiny. Just wait till you want to take it out... Not impressed October 4, 2014 This pomade runs down my face over the course of the day. It is also hard to get off my hands after doing my hair. It is leaves a greasy film and requires a thorough hand wash, which in the morning, after I've done everything else, I seldom have time for. Just not my taste April 7, 2014 I feel like im putting lard in my hair. Its hard to work with. I guess if I was doing a pompador it would work great for that but for every day styling this isnt what you want to buy. I wouldn't recommend April 28, 2013 My hair is short on the sides, longer combed over on top. This stuff is THICK. When i apply this to my hair to comb over, it took a lot of strength to run my comb through. Also it took 10 washes to wash this stuff out of my hair. The good thing is that there is alot of hold. My hair stayed in place for the entire day. This is not a completely bad product, but just not right for my hair. |
One Star Reviews: | 4% box was in a good condition. November 2, 2017 My husband likes it but I was broken when I opppened the box, box was in a good condition. Open jar. June 22, 2017 The jar was open in the package and it looked like someone put their finger in it. suavecito sucked May 31, 2017 Worst Pomade I have ever had could not get it to style my hair have FlyAway hairs I would never suggest this product or ever use it again only thing good about it was had a good scent Nothing suave about this product. February 12, 2017 Used this for about a week on my pomp fade. I will be going back to something with real hold and dry look like Tea Tree. It's a pain to wash out but at least it is a real pomade. This is like a gel.Hold:Deplorable. Where is all this GREAT hold I keep hearing about??? I have thick, wavy hair. I know what good hold is. If I put this in my hair dried or even damp, it does basically nothing. I need to have my hair pretty dang damp in order for this to provide hold, and even then, I need to use a lot of it. Pomade on wet hair will provide an undesired, artificially shiny look.Texture:CRUNCHY HAIR. Biggest turn off for a lot of ladies. Thankfully it does wash out easily, one wash. That's a pro here.Shine:Low to moderate, if you can get away with using it on dry hair. I cannot. As above, must use on wet hair or else it doesn't hold.Scent:The best part about this product. Mild, neutral. Kind of like another reviewer stated: a musky men's deodorant. I agree. | 15% Far too thick November 18, 2016 The prodct is far too thick. Every time I use it it pulls my hair out. Good hold though, and I nice smell. The buyer I received it from was very quick shipping ... December 3, 2014 The buyer I received it from was very quick shipping. The consistency of the product, however, was very different from other times I have purchased. Had to throw it out. Way to sticky. May 3, 2014 This stuff is goop. It's VERY waxy, and was extremely difficult to get out of my hair. It took 3 days and 2 washings to get out. |
