Great pomade that holds thick hair in place with a nice shine. You can wet again lightly and reshape your hair any way you wish.

Day two and I think I found my regular pomade. I've used suavecito, suavecito matte, shiner gold, layrite, and imperial.I have thick wavy hair and this stuff still holds after a full day of activities.

I have this and the Suavecito Pomade Regular Hold and prefer Steadfast because it allows for more pliability while still maintaining a strong hold. The pomade itself is blue and has a soapy smell but it's not too overwhelming compared to the stronger smell of Suavecito. Steadfast can keep my hair styled all day and it washes off easily.

Holds all day long, strong. Can get pretty hard if you put on with wet hair. High shine with wet hair. Smells fantastic, nice masculine smell, but the smell does seem to dissipate after an hour or two. Wet hands can go in and make adjustments...it will soften up considerably on you if you're spending much time in high humidity.

This is now my favorite pomade! I have thick wavy hair and this stuff works perfect to tame the waves and hold my hair in place! The scent is not powerful or unbearable at all which is a plus compared to others like Suavecito. I've tried Sauvecito, Uppercut Deluxe, Layrite, Dapper Dan, and a few others and this is the best for my hair. It's a clear blue and almost gel looking. It's very light and easy to work through hair and only takes a small amount for any look. At first it doesn't feel like it's doing much but after a minute it starts working strong. This is my go to pomade if I want a slick look, shiny look or dapper style hair. The hold is stronger than I'd expect and it has great shine. It's the only one I've found that takes the waves completely out of my hair.

This is the second time ive gotten this pomade i love it the smell is just so good i never get tired if it. I love the color and the design of the pomade. Its waterbased so it washes out easy. It doesnt not tug or pull your hair. It feels really good and fresh in your hair. It holds great has an ok shine but because its waterbased and it drys up like all other waterbased but yea overall this pomade is great!!! Its my top one in my waterbased pomade category!!! Lasts a while, and holds well. Doesn't leave my hair looking unclean at all when it dries like some other pomades do. Probably the best quality and texture I've ever gotten. This size is perfect as well, as it lasts me months at a great and reasonable price. My go-to.

This is a pretty nice matte pomade. I've used several different pomades before. This is very lightweight and smooth white paste like texture. Goes on easily and dries slightly hard with a slight gloss. I usually apply this while the hair is wet and then run my fingers through my hair to break up the gloss. The results are great and natural looking after breaking up the dry hair. Washes out without buildup

I love this pomade. It is a little pricey, but it works much better than cheaper pomades I've tried in stores. I prefer the matte to shiny, and it has just the right amount of hold for me so that my hair stays where I want it, but it's not obvious that I have a hair product on.

I've tried countless products over the years. Either their hold is way to strong, or it doesn't last 15 min. It's too shiny or it flakes when dry. My hair type is straight and fine hair. I don't have to use much and it shapes my hair perfectly. Best is that as the day goes on it is touchable and a little water on your palms will restyle it if you wish. It's not heavy and washes out very easily. Never buying anything else.

I'm a big fan of this particular pomade. I've tried a handful of brands and styles at this point and I keep coming back to this one because it smells great and actually manages to keep my unruly hair under control for most of the day. I will admit that by the end of the day the holding power isn't as strong as some other varieties I've tried, but it softens up very nicely so I don't feel like my hair is crusty when I go to bed. When it does get a bit unruly in the late afternoon I just run damp hands through it and it reactivates a bit.Highly recommended!

This is by far one of my favorite hair products. I've tried a ton of different hair products including every single American Crew styling product and Imperial won. It's very versatile. If you want no shine, make sure your hair is dry, if you want some shine, make sure your hair is a little wet, if you want a lot of shine, make sure your hair is wet.The hold is not super strong but that's a good thing for me because I don't want to feel like it's yanking my hair out.I've used this product to style a faux-hawk and a side part.My only complaint would be when you are going for a complete matte look, if you decide to use a comb, it does tug on your hair but I have fairly thick but straight hair.

great stuff - nice hold and doesn't weigh down my hair - the scent they use is OK not great not terrible - but thankfully it's not too strong of a smell and you don't notice it after an hour

This pomade has good hold. To me it's very similar to Layrite pomade, but the scent is much more pleasant(Layrite= Glade Vanila candle scent, and Steadfast has a fresh masculine aqua scent).This pomade doesn't make your hair look greasy, washes out easily, and holds well without being overly stiff.

Was recommended this product by a friend who has awesome hair. I've been using it for a few days now and I'm very happy with the hold. It's not quite as strong as some other pomades I've used but it definitely gets the job done. It's very easy to style and work through the hair. It washes out easily just like other water based pomades. Another big plus is the scent, it smells very fresh and clean!

It has a clean smell and my husband really like how it tames his thick unruly hair.It's getting 4 stars because he said when it dries it's a little too crispy like a hair gel. He did say that it does was out nicely.

Not bad. Still like the Layrite original and Layrite strong hold better for the smell and tighter hold. Steadfast is great for a light feel but the smell fades as soon as it's put on. Steadfast also doesn't hold my slick back as tight to the head as the Layrite does but does comb easier. Layrite still stays as my daily but on lazy days I use the Steadfast.

This stuff is pretty good. It's hold doesn't last very long though. Also it smells good for like 2 hours, then it starts to make your hair smell very "chemically".It's also super sticky and is kinda hard to get off your hands.

Smells great and is awesome for a more natural look.Does become a little dry and hair becomes brittle after a full day. Some pomade you can wet come and fix your look, but not this one. Washes out easily.The packaging is somewhat deceptive: most pomades come in 4oz tubs, and this one isn't any larger than those. So in that case, it's a little more pricey.Happy to support a California based company.

This is one of the first products I've purchased without trying it first, and I'm not disappointed. I have semi-thick, very straight, and somewhat short (although it depends on how lazy I am in going to the barber) hair. From using American Crew Fiber to using gels and many other styling products, this pomade paste works very well. It's slightly more "paste-y" and moveable than Fiber. One thing I would say is it takes a lot to be able to hold your hair in place—it's medium/medium-high hold and rework-able.Pros-Smells good (almost like watermelon)Larger container, more bang for your buckJust the right amount of holdCons-Cannot be taken on a carry-on during flights (1oz. too large)Smell can be overwhelming if you're looking for less of a fruit smell.Overall, I'd purchase this again, but I'd like to find something that may be a little less heavy on my hair, but I do like it more than Fiber. Works well for multiple applications and hairstyles. If I am looking for something light and feathery, I can use a minimal amount. If I want to really slick my hair back, I can use a lot. Has good hold and shaping characteristics and doesn't smell terrible.

I have been trying many pomades to try to find the right price/hold combo. This has good hold and smell. More like a gel than a pomade though. Dries hard and is not reworkable. Will not be going back to this.

Compared to other water-based pomades, it dries out the hair more and more product is required to achieve a steady hold. Smells nice though, like a light cologne of sort.

I added this onto an order on a whim during a pomade-purchasing spree. It has a nice, light scent that matches the transparent blue color in the tub. Like most water based pomades, it goes on easily and combs thru without pulling and shapes easily. It has a decent hold, somewhere between light and medium. However, it performs very similarly to Axe pomade (yes, I had to try it!) at twice the price. All in all, Steadfast is just ok.

But you have to use a ridiculous amount to actually get it last all day. My boyfriend doesn't move around a lot during his job yet his hair would constantly fall in his face unless he took it to work with him.

I'll get down to brass tax with this pomade. It has a clean soapy scent to it which goes very well with the clear blue color. The texture is pretty soft almost like hair gel. The hold is very much like Layrite deluxe. The main reason i'm not really enjoying this pomade is it dries my hair out pretty bad. I'll wash it out (And yes it washes out very easy with just water) and my hair is super fizzy and dry after. I never got this with other water based pomades. Definitely does the job to make your hair matte but maybe a little too well.This is one of the few pomades that I've seen around that has almost a glue/gloopy texture. From all the other pomades I've ever used for matte, they've always had a dry clay texture that turns to paste as soon as your rub it between your hands. The good thing about this guy is that you don't need to put any energy into working it into your hands and you just need the smallest bit. The downfall is that if you have dark Asian hair and you accidentally use too much, it leaves streaks in your hair that takes a couple tries to spread about. It took awhile for me to get the hang of how much I should use for my hair type for it not to look like gel in my hair. For the most part, it washes out fairly well which was a definite upside to this product as well as it's "cherry" scent. It also had a great hold (I usually pull my hair up and back in a pomp) and it was extremely pliable with control.I wouldn't say I'd buy it again because it was extremely easy for my hair to look like clumpy than a smooth clean matte finish and it left my hair with a lot of times with this white looking residue.

Too goppy and gooey and stiff

Pretty difficult to apply. It would sometimes clump and leave visible white gunk in my hair. I thought that since it was so paste like the hold would be much better but I was wrong. I had to also use hairspray to get my hair to stay in shape. It was also a bit difficult to wash out.

Mixed feelings about this pomade. First off, the good: it does a good job texturizing your hair and is neither too strong nor too light in terms of hold. It provides an average amount of volume for those with hair that's a little on the thin side. It does provide a nice matte finish. The product lasts a very long time (it took me about 18 months to go through) although it is not cheap. And, unless you have super thick hair, you don't need very much at all. The not-so-good: it made my forehead break out considerably (which is something I don't have to deal with very much otherwise) and the product, and thus your hair, begins to look a bit greasy later in the day, if you've been outside and/or fairly active with the product in your hair. The smell is mixture of grapefruit and chemicals; it isn't very appealing at all. It also is somewhat hard to rinse out without a good clarifying shampoo or a shampoo with salicylic acid. That said, this isn't a bad product by any means, but it could definitely be improved.

This has decent hold, but when I put enough it in, it dries hard and shiny, giving a "gel" look, which is exactly what I didn't want, and doesn't match the "no shine" description.

Great hold, great shine, I loved it.. BUT, it began to dry out my hair. I don't know if it is because of the gel like properties it has, but I began to bald, and it dried my hair.

Two stars only for the smell of this pomade. Smells amazing, but sadly the product lacks hold and doesn't last a work day. It also gives your hair more of a hard gel feeling after about 30mins of being applied.

I bought this based on recommendations from website and Amazon suggested products. It definitely has a light hold, even though I was hoping that it would be more towards medium hold. IT DOES HAVE A SMELL!! Kind of a fruity, plastic paint odor when it's fresh out of the container.I might try other Imperial products before I completely jump to another brand.

doesnt dry as a matte finish. Makes my hair still look wet like cheap gel. In fact, gel probably holds better than this product as well.

DISCLAIMER: This is written by a guy with really thick, straight hair.I usually have it long in front and use pomade to tame the top and the shorter-length sides that always stick out. I usually use sumotech by bumble and bumble, but I wanted to try something new. At first, this was working well in the beginning of the day, but by the afternoon it looked like my hair overcame the hold and it was useless. I imagine people with thinner and easy-to-style hair would benefit more from this than someone with my hair type.

It was okay, not the best product out there on the market, as it would flake if you used too much, however you need to use an ample amount in order to get your hair to do what you want it to do, had an okay clean scent, would not use again.

Very low hold, the smell is not great. I would put this on par with American Crew Pomade, the hold is seriously that low. As a barber, if you need a light holding product for styling a pomp, faux hawks, etc with a wet look I would pick up Suavecito as it actually has some hold. If that does not work go up the list for Firm Hold Suavecito, Original Layrite (if you prefer the smell of coconut to vanilla go with Imperial Pomade, same hold basically), then Super Hold Layrite. If you don't want a shine go with Layrite Cement, or American Crew FIber (the only Crew product worth buying). Any positive reviews that talk about how well this holds are plants from the company. This has about the same hold as Suavecito Brilliantcreme, which is not much.

Might as well get LA Looks. It smells and feels the same.

Product was watered down. It did not hold my hair in place. Will not be buying again.

Good stuff but what if a kid ingests it.

Cheap pomade with a trendy lable

I really hope I just got a bad batch, but this does nothing to my hair. My hair's thin and is easily molded by any hair product. This product is no exception. It will mold my hair to how I want it. The only problem is that when it dries it's like nothing is on. It's almost as if the product disappears from my hair. It happens within the hour. The product from my hair just disappears and it's as if I never put anything on. It's extremely frustrating, especially with the price. It's pretty pricey compared to some other products that I've used in the past that did exactly what I wanted it to. I've used it for a couple months and it does the same thing regardless of what I do. I usually put the product on my hair when my hair is completely dry. Usually that makes hair products hold better and look more matte, which is what I want, but this doesn't hold. At least it doesn't hold for longer than an hour. It really sucks because I paid for it and I can't justify just throwing it away because of how much it costs. I like the smell of it , that's the one thing I like about the product. If only the product held, I would purchase again. I really hope that the one that I got was just part of a bad batch and not how it works. All the reviews and such made it out to be exactly what I wanted but it turned out to be a disappointment. All I wanted was a hair product that held my hair in place and looked matte. If you're looking for a product that makes your hair look natural and the one I have is how every batch is, you're looking at the right product because it will make your hair look natural, by disappearing within the hour that you put it on.

Really a disappointing product. I've always been well versed in this area of products, and this one is a let down. Goes in rather cake-y, dries sticky, you cant touch your hair without getting a weird residue, makes your scalp feel weird, and after all this it doesn't hold well. Really wish I didn't spend my money. Look elsewhere.

Cap doesn't screw shut - just spins around. The product is pretty dry and sticky. Like dried-up white toothpaste. I've stopped using it and there's probably 90% left in the jar. Would not purchase again.

Too sticky, not at all like traditional pomade

I've been using many different pomades. This one is Terrible. It would harden up my hair as if I applied a gel. Extremely disappointed, and I've never touched it since the first time of use. Also, it was very hard to apply on my hair and comb-thru. Bought a trash that I'd never buy again.

Boyfriend did not like it at all, too gooey and leaves hair soft, not stiff.
