Love this pomade. It goes on easily, does not harden up quickly if the case is left open and holds well overall in a variety of weather conditions including heavy rain and wind. A slight shine to it but nothing to horrible.

So I finally got my product today and I tried it out. Boy, let me tell you I am S H O C K E D. The strength of this stuff! I have fine hair so when it gets long, nothing tends to hold it in its place that long. Always in my eyes. But this product, you can scratch your head without worrying about messing it up as long as you fix it back. Gives my hair a nice glossy shine too! BUY!

So far so good, I received the package yesterday, there was a little misunderstanding with the adress but it arrived in time. It has high shine and medium hold. I used the pomade after blow drying my hair. I used just a little bit and I worked it throw my hair. It was very easy to work it throw my hair even though it was dry. It provided high shine as described but I felt that the hold was a little more than medium. This product made my hair feel great and look great as well, it didnt feel sticky or stiff. I love this pomade so far.....

This is my favorite Pomade. I have tried many through the years and I always come back to this. For one, it washes out easy. I only use a little because I like the low hold, high shine look. So I dabble a bit in, comb, and I am ready to go. There is enough hold that my hair isn't all over the place. But enough freedom that I don't have 'helmet hair'. The shine is great. Plus I only need a little bit. Everyone is different, maybe you are different from me however it is a quality product and it is well worth a chance.

I have thick and curly hair. It's kind of fro-y and frizzy. I've been experimenting a lot with pomades trying to find the best one for my hair type. I've tried some like Suavecito, which I think smells kind of funky personally, and this one just blows it right out of the water. It has a really nice scent, not too strong but not too subtle either. It holds my hair really well considering my hair type, and I don't have to mess with it throughout the whole day. The shine is also really nice, which is a big plus considering I have blonde hair, so it tends to make it 'pop' more. All-in-all, I'd say this is the best pomade out there. If you're curious about it, it's definitely worth trying it for the price. If you're looking for a pomade for a greaser-style look then stick with Layrite or Suavecito, but if you want a really nice product to style your hair that won't leave flakes or clumps after then this is for you.

I am a male in my early 30's have very thick hair which can be hard to manage. I have been using this product since my early 20's and it's really the only hair product that I like. I bought a cheaper pomade once from Walmart; it worked but I didn't like it as good as the Crew Pomade. Crew Pomade smells good, it doesn't make my hair feel grimy. It holds my hair in place very well, without making it stiff. There have been times I went to sleep without washing it out, and when I woke up my hair was messed up. So I just sprinkle some water on my hair and I am able to recomb it. It works best for me after I shower and my hair is damp, but not soaking wet. I usually towel dry my hair, then apply and style. Great product! The price has really gone up in the stores over the last several years, so I turned to Amazon and I can get it shipped to my home for about $5 less than buying it from Walmart! And by the way, I noticed some of the other reviews reported that they changed their product. I have been using this product for years and haven't noticed any change. So I'm not sure what they are referring to.

I last used Floyds but couldn't find it on Amazon prime so I ordered this instead. Comes with a lot more product in the container. Smells good but I still prefer the fresher smell of Floyds. Suavecito holds great and washes out easy. It's a huge upgrade over the old Tres Flores pomade I used back in the 90s that took forever to wash out. Orale Suavecito

I needed a pomade that provided a decent hold throughout the day but didn't cake up or flake. I have a business cut with a slight fade and I need my hair to retain that professional look during the day. I gave Suavecito a shot and I am very happy with the results.Opening the jar for the first time, I was very happy by the smell of the pomade. It is a slightly musky yet sweet cologne scent that is not overpowering by any means. I hadn't told my wife that I had tried Suavecito and she said that the scent smelled really good, which is a lot to say considering she doesn't care for most cologne scents.I took a finger scrape from the jar, rubbed it in my hands and worked it into my slightly damp hair starting from the top. The product went on very well and was easy to work into my hair. I styled my hair with a Kent comb and was able to easily style my hair. My hair was left with a good hold that didn't make me feel like I have helmet hair. The hold stays firm throughout much of the day and if I ever need to touch it up a little towards the evening, I just I apply a little water to my hands and work it into my hair and comb it through. The hold naturally isn't as strong as the first application but still decent.The product is super easy to wash out with just water too. If you have a business cut and looking for a good hold I would highly recommend this product.

I must say that this product has overly exceeded my expectations. I had a friend who recommended this product as I have been using all types of hair product and it was frustrating as I could never find the right one. I would buy one and it would flake which was ugly and then I buy something else and it would either leave my hair stiff like concrete or super oily like a grease trap. But, when I used this product it was like the Goldie Locks of all products. It doesn't flake, harden, and it is not oily which is the perfect hair product I have been looking for. This is definitely my go to product for my hair and I definitely recommend this product to anyone.

Never used a pomade until my barber introduced me to this product. Now it is part of my daily hygiene ritual. It leaves my hair with a slicker look without being wet or greasy. What a cool product that I teamed up with a Kent Gentleman Folder comb for a nice look.

to keep it short and easy; this is, hands down, the best pomade I've used in this price range. Honestly, I'd say it's comparable to brands in (much)higher price ranges. Great smell, and a good hold that keeps your hair in place, without hardening it or leaving you feeling goopy. It also eliminates my frizz, tames my curls, moisturizes my hair, and gives it that "nice, healthy shine".

Fantastic hair product. Large size lasts a long time. I have thick heavy hair and this keeps it held tight without the white residue or stickiness aftermath. I wear a faux hawk and it keeps it solid. quick rinse in the shower and hair feels like it never had product in it.

American Crew is a great line of men’s hair products, and getting this product for a cheaper price than the listed price on their actual website was great. The fact that it was prime allowed me to run out of gel and get a replacement that night which was great. Good for a solid hold and good shine for your hair, the only annoying thing about getting it online was the uneven distribution of the pomade inside the canister. Otherwise it’s great! Thanks Crew!

The hold is strong and holds up against any weather. It can be a little hard to style but just add some water.

This may be the new packaging or something. It has a creamy color. The one I used to use looked somewhat clear. However it seems to smell the same and work the same. I still would prefer the clear looking one just out of personal preference.

I purchased this as a replacement for Redken Polishing Pomade as they discontinued it. I loved the finishing pomade. This just doesn't trat my hair the same way. But it works much much much better than the junk that Redken recommended as a replacement for the polishing pomade. When I complete the use of this product, I will try something different to see if I can find a product I loved as much as the polishing pomade.

Smells great and makes hair feel and look good but it doesn't stop the waves in my thick hair even after I used thinning sheers to try to help it out. Hold isn't very good and it seems to take a lot of products that to cover my hair. Shine goes away if u run comb through your hair more the 4 or 5 times.UPDATE: Suavecito firm is amazing! Get it instead!

I'm not sure what to say about the other reviewers who have claimed to get a substandard product (yellow, smelly). This is my first time using this product. Mine seems to be clear (it's a dark container) and smells like a hair product.I have very curly hair, and to go without product would result in an undesirable poof of fluff. Likewise, I have no desire to slick my hair into highly gelled wet-looking but hard-as-a-rock curls. This product puts me nicely in the middle, and leaves my hair controlled throughout the day while retaining a nice finish (slight luster, but not wet) and without a feeling of residue.The product feels very thick when you scoop it out and rub it on your hands, but when run through damp hair, thins out nicely. I only use my fingers (rather than a comb) because I like to keep the curls and avoid the potential for frizz / fluff.If you are like me, with curly hair and haven't found a happy solution to control the curls while avoiding using multiple products, this is definitely worth a try.

Good stuff, overall. Solid hold without any shine whatsoever. Keeps hair looking completely natural. Washes out easily.Don't buy in that it's a substitute for wax, though, as the marketing would have you believe. It's not nearly as strong as wax.

I'm a white male and I have a very, very, very dry and thick hair and trust me I've used everything, from home made oils, cheap wholesale gels to $50 hair products. It's impossible to manage it. So if you have thin or oily hair, don't need to read the rest of this comment.For this exact product, well.... it's complicated. It definitely does the job, it holds my hair the way I wanted all day long and I can just spray some water and re-style it HOWEVER it certainly is not a product that gives a shiny look. I watched on youtube people using it and it shines but on me, NO, NO WAY. Besides that I don't believe that there is a stronger pomade than this. If you blow dry your hair, it'll look amazing, but not shiny. This product is one of the best I've ever tried. you should have this.

Let's get the negative out of the way. This stuff does not smell good when first applied. You're going to put it into your hair and think,"!@#$ me, what have I bought?"The good news is that smell fades after, I dunno, 20 or 30 minutes? It holds well and washes out easily in the shower -- something I cannot say for the AXE products.

I love this pomade! I've tried a lot of pomades, some petroleum based and some water based. I love the hold and look of the petroleum based, but getting it out is a PAIN!After trying lots of water based pomades, Suavecito is know the one I buy over and over again. I usually keep both the regular and firme on hand. It goes in my hair easy and comes out even easier. For my hair style, I find that adding it to my slightly damp hair and then styling works best for me and gives me the sheen I like. I get a great all day hold and don't even bother carrying a comb with me. The only down side of going with the water based pomade for me is that if you live in a rainy climate (like I do!) then a good rain can be disasterous for your hair. I've never had much luck re-style my hair with water based pomades, so if it looks like it is raining I do what I can to protect the hair.The only reason I didn't give Suavecito 5 stars is because I'm not really a huge fan of the scent. It isn't terrible by any means, but I would prefer a "fresher" or "tropical" scent. Suavecito has more of an Old Spice scent. I don't find the scent too overpowering though, so it doesn't deter me from buying again.I would definitely recommend trying this product if you are on the fence or just looking for a new pomade to try.

So I just started getting into pomade a few weeks ago and this is by far my favorite. I originally started with American Crew but due to is medium hold, my curly hair started to go to its natural shape and I couldn't find a stronger hold from this brand. Enter this one that I originally borrowed from my brother. My hair is fine and curly so this holds it nicely and doesn't add too much weight and I get good volume and the smell is great. I only need about half to a three quarters of a fingertip to get a good hold. It's also easy to brush later in the day and maintains the shape and hold you would want. Shine isn't really my thing but this gets some shine to a matte with my hair. I also took off a star because it does tend to garden and clump sometimes. Other than that, I really recommend this.

I decided to grab me a little tub as an add on to an order.I typically wear a pompador most days. Black, shiney, slick.... or I try anyway.I have used Murrys orange can for years which I like enough but it's difficult to completely wash out and leaves your hair sticky when it's cold and greasey when it's hot. That said the hold is amazing and the 3~4$ can lasts a while.I am always pn the look out for alternatives. Currently I am using Magic Sporting Waves which I really like. The Sporting Waves washes out so much easier than the Murrays and yet retains the reworkability that I like in pomades.So the Suavectito.... well it arrived quickly. The can is cool looking. I open it up and it's a clear and rather pretty deep amber. Smell is very nice.So yeah... it's pretty much hair gel. It works well, just like a gel and hardens like a gel. It doesn't feel like a pomade to me though. I'm not digging that it hardens like a gel. That said for gel it's fine gel. Not flakey, holds well enough.But it is not really what I would consider a pomade.The can looks pretty bicthin on the counter though and maybe sometime I may need a product more like a gel but I think I will be sticking with the Magic most days.

not the best, not the worst. There's certain smell that goes away. Not a good or bad smell, it's like meh...because it's going away soon after.

I received the white pomade as people have mentioned earlier in other posts, instead of the blue that is what I buy at the store.Does not seem to have as much hold as the blue pomade I get at the store, I end up using about twice as much as I would with the blue. Even though this is a better price than my local store, I am using more of it to get the same hold.Washes out easy and doesn't leave your hair feeling crusty or hard. I have found the easiest way to use it is to apply to damp hair then after it dries a little bit comb it out again. It seems to spread easier if your hair has a little moisture in it.

Not as much hold as I'm used to. If you need more I recommend the molding clay. This does does smell pretty good though.

Hold is not strong, though adds a lot of shine.

While some people said this product was fake, I ordered it from Amazon.com and did not have that problem. The problem, however, was that when it arrived, the solution was not as it was in the store. I think this could have been because of exposure to high temperatures in the warehouse, but while it doesn't look the same cosmetically, this product functions the same as other American Crew (store-bought) products. I recommend this for a good hold without light flakes in the hair - good moderate hold.

O.K. I need to be clear about this. This is a product review of what i received. I ordered from JV Beauty Supply through Amazon. JV Beauty Supply apparently does "quality checks" on everything that they ship. So expect what you get from them to be opened. Now something that is going to be on my body or hair that is not sealed honestly, is kinda gross. What I got looked like it was a crew pomade made up of lesser crew pomades. Like someone took 4 almost gone containers rolled them together and placed into a new one.Now on to the quality of product I received. It has a good scent. Not overly a perfume smell or musky, just nice. It goes well through dry hair and has a decent enough hold to pull into a clean bun or ponytail. It will even do a decent slickback if you have an undercut, but I would bring a comb to fix it. If gets windy or hot it falls on you. It does re-comb pretty good though. Now as my preferred style is a slickback I think I would like something with a little more holdHonestly I really would like to get this item directly from crew to give it an honest review. I just don't know if what I received convinced me to want to give it another try. If I do and it warrants an update to this review, I will do so. If I try and it still mostly does not impress I may just leave it as is

I couldn't stand the smell so I returned it. As far as I could tell worked well except for the smell.

I prefer this version to the firme because it does not get as crunchy. Still not what I'm looking for (hold without crunch). It's okay but you can get almost the same results with gel at half the price.

Does the job. Cheaper than Layrite - but I don't think I'll be back...a little too much scent for me.

Bought this for my sons to use on their hair. It has a strong fragrance which isn't too pleasing, but my boys seem to like using it. I probably won't buy it again as I've noticed it doesn't hold their hair in place for very long.

After reading rave reviews for Suavecito, I decided to give it a try. The smell is very strong... It smells good, but it is overpowering, in my opinion. This water based pomade is easy to use and apply to your hair, but it won't straighten out any waves and the hold isn't as strong as I was expecting.Overall, if you have shorter hair this product will probably do the trick, but if you have longer hair and are looking to style your hair as a pompadour, etc, I recommend you look to something stronger. I really like Goon Grease, but to each their own.

The product itself is great, holds my hair in place for the entire day. I have wavy/curly hair which gets relaxed often. They helps maintain the style I like until another relaxing is needed.The pomade dries quickly and even once it dries, I can still style my hair, giving it more volume and smoothing out all the parts that clump together. I'm not too fond of the smell, in my opinion it's far from subtle. I've had people complain my "cologne" is too strong. I'd agree if it wasn't a hair product, and having that smell just above my nose can get a little overwhelming throughout the day. I guess it all comes down to smell sensitivity, but for me it's just too strong.

I have medium length thick, soft hair and this product has very little hold. It also has a very greasy unpleasant feel.

Not a fan of this pomade. It smells like cheap cleaning solution, feels greasy, and i cant wait to wash it out. Doesn't hold well.

Product must have become frozen or something. This should clear with a thick consistency. The one that arrived was white and creamy like. Wouldn't work like original and smells different.

I expected this product to be like I've seen it before so many times. If you buy it in a store (or any video online) you'll see it is actually clear. The product I received is actually white; which I wouldn't mind if it had good hold, but it doesn't.If you have long hair that is doesn't need a strong hold this should work as it does make it shine a bit. But I just got a haircut and this just doesn't cut it. I'll be using gel instead until my hair is longer.

Went to the bottom of my bathroom drawer after a week of uncooperative hairdos. Maybe I'm just used to the hold strength of Layrite & Suavecito, but this wasn't it for me. Seems there are better products for alot less.

Price is right but not sure if the product has been on the shelf too long...I received the product and it was opaque not clear....the smell was correct though...nor sure if I will buy from amazon even though it saves you money busing elsewhere

One whiff of this pomade and I just screwed the cap back on. The smell stayed in my nose for hours. Old Spice and Axe come to mind. I will just stick with good old Layrite. I don't even know why I tried something else.

This is the most mediocre "pomade" that I have used, and I wouldn't even call it that. It's a gel, plain and simple. It also doesn't wash out as easily as the label claims, which drives me mad because I hate having the smell transfer to my pillow cases even after washing my hair 3 times. From using other much better pomades such as Anchors, I've gotten used to the idea of not having hard crunchy gel hair, which makes suavecito my last choice out of all of my pomades. I've used it maybe 2 or three times since buying it 2 years ago.

Product performs just fine, but the perfume smell in unbearable. No need to add perfume to a hair product - I can apply my own perfume if desired.

The scent was so overpoweringly bad that I was forced to return it. If you are looking for a light or mildly scently scented pomade, this is not the product for you.

I guess it works alright, BUT it stinks like cheap old spice or axe. The smell puts me in a bad mood. They should deliver it in the back pocket of some bedazzled jeans.

I have to say I'm not impressed. The reviews had me excited, but this stuff just doesn't do it for me. I had grown to like my Crew Pomade, but it was so expensive, and I had to use a lot of it to hold my hair in place effectively. This stuff makes my hair crunchy... kind of feels like it has hairspray in it. When my hair gets out of place during the day I can't run my hand through my hair to put it back in place. With this pomade I have to re-wet my hair to restyle. Very annoying. So far it seems like I can get decent volume out of my hair with this, and it does look decent... just doesn't shine as much as Crew or Teddy Boy. I'm excited to buy something else. This was a waste of money. I hate crunchy hair.

An obvious counterfeit product!!

The first batch I got was in excellent condition and it worked great. I figured I'd order it again because I was so pleased, but this time I got a container filled with a creamy white substance instead of a clearish color.

This is a knock off, the color of the pomade is creamy and white, where the original is nowhere near that, and the scent is slightly different. I am afraid to even try it on my hair.

THIS IS NOT THE REAL AMERICAN CREW POMADE. The real American crew pomade has a clear color and fresh scent. The fake pomade I received in the mail was an off yellowish color and had a plastic like smell to it. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY!

Different color (white not clear) than Crew Pomade is supposed to be. This is either a fake or expired product. Either way, I wont buy again. Very disappointed.

I should have looked at the other reviews prior to this purchase. This product I believe is fake, old or Maybe something happened to it during shipping. It should have been shiny and clear and when opened it was solid white, odd texture.

My husband likes it but I was broken when I opppened the box, box was in a good condition.

The jar was open in the package and it looked like someone put their finger in it.

Worst Pomade I have ever had could not get it to style my hair have FlyAway hairs I would never suggest this product or ever use it again only thing good about it was had a good scent

Used this for about a week on my pomp fade. I will be going back to something with real hold and dry look like Tea Tree. It's a pain to wash out but at least it is a real pomade. This is like a gel.Hold:Deplorable. Where is all this GREAT hold I keep hearing about??? I have thick, wavy hair. I know what good hold is. If I put this in my hair dried or even damp, it does basically nothing. I need to have my hair pretty dang damp in order for this to provide hold, and even then, I need to use a lot of it. Pomade on wet hair will provide an undesired, artificially shiny look.Texture:CRUNCHY HAIR. Biggest turn off for a lot of ladies. Thankfully it does wash out easily, one wash. That's a pro here.Shine:Low to moderate, if you can get away with using it on dry hair. I cannot. As above, must use on wet hair or else it doesn't hold.Scent:The best part about this product. Mild, neutral. Kind of like another reviewer stated: a musky men's deodorant. I agree.
