Neat projector that works with 5s Smartphones
March 27, 2014
Super item! Very easy to use. Great price and value for a projector. I have a Smartphone 5s and it was very easy to use with it. A lot of the projectors available cannot be used with the 5s, so this was very well received. Would definitely recommend it.
amazing product

I, m personally using this product. It, s an amazing product in a very affordable price. Picture quality is awesome.
This is better that I anticipated it would be!
December 9, 2013
Just received this and am really pleased with it so far.Ordered on December 2 and it arrived via US Mail on December 9 which is way earlier than the estimated delivery of December 27. It was well packaged and feels solid, not flimsy at all.Have been able to connect both an iPhone and iPad to it and display photos. Downloaded their iPhone app and it was easy to connect. They even have a remote control app which uses wi-fi that you can use to operate it without the included remote which needs line of sight.Transferred videos and photos and a couple of MP3 files to a micro SD card and it plays and displays all of them well.Built in speaker leaves a lot to be desired but with the headphone jack there is no problem to add external speakers or headphones. Was able to connect it to our wi-fi router and display web pages with its built in browser. Images are very clear and picture is bright enough to have a low light on. As with any projector the darker the room is the better for image quality. Can fill up the whole living room wall with an image from about 10' away.Update 3 months after purchase: Started having an issue with the connection for the power cord. Seemed to have a loose connection inside the projector. Fortunately I purchased a Square Trade plan and they covered the item and and reimbursed the full purchase price. I do have to say that the projector was used almost every day and performed very well. Liked it so much, have ordered a new one to replace it. Will pay more attention to avoid any stress on the cord when plugged in.

LOVE LOVE LOVE This Led Pico Projector
March 12, 2017
LOVE LOVE LOVE This Led Pico Projector!!!!! Best mini projector out there!!! Its so tiny! about the size of your cell phone! it can literally fit in your pocket! hahaha NOT that I would keep it in my pocket, And Its easy to use! You may have to order a mini hdmi to hdmi male to female connector or possibly a chromecast to use for your specific Phone be it iphone or android. You can also watch movies on your wall or anywhere :) You will LOVE it too! I absofreakinlutely suggest buying this You will be SO happy you did! This Makes Decorating Cookies FUN, EASY, and ADORABLE all at the same time!!!
Great for art projects
December 26, 2016
Great for art projects, can reduce image with clarity with projector about 10 inches from canvas or paper, as well as enlarge images about 60 inches. Perfect for movies too. Highly recommend, bought an additional one for a family member aspiring to be an artist. Portable, lightweight, would also be great for cake decorating!
Excellent little projector
November 17, 2016
This little projector is fantastic. For those who want to use it with an iPhone (we are using it with a 6s) - it does require the purchase of a couple of extra cables. Specifically, you need an HDMI to mini HDMI cable and then you need an HDMI to Apple lightning cable. I will try to post photos of what those look like. This was not clear in the posting for the projector and I was wishing someone could explain the right cable configuration for Apple products. So I hope this helps. The HDMI to mini cable was only about $5 and the Apple cable was another $30 on Amazon. What you'll do is insert the mini HDMI end into the projector, the regular HDMI end into the female port on the Apple cable and then the lightning pin end into your phone or iPad. Once it's set up correctly and charged, it works like a champ. One thing to note is that it doesn't charge and play at the same time. So when you get it, you have to give it a full charge before it will work. My son loves this projector and will be able to use it for everything from games and movies to school projects. It's excellent!
Amazing portable projector, great for camping, but need portable power pack and to replace tripod and bring external speakers
December 20, 2015
Bought this projector to make a camping experience more enjoyable for a few buddies of mine who have never been camping before. Kept the two USB ends of the y-connector it comes with to my Anker Second Gen E3 (5V/3A output) portable power pack and it lasted all night. I definitely recommend ordering another tripod. The one that it comes with doesn't seem to work at all. It's a pain in the butt and not very adjustable. It has a built in mediaplayer which makes it even more portable and compact because you can play movies off of your flash drive and/or SD card. IT FITS IN MY POCKET and feels lighter than my iPhone 5S. Yes it comes with built-in speakers but I would recommend connecting them to battery powered speakers for the outdoors or if you're at home, connect them to plug-in-play speakers to get the job done. Works only in low light/dark environments. For best results use an even and clean white sheet/screen.

Pros:
Fits in my pocket + Lightweight
Lasts through multiple movies when connected to my portable power pack
micro HDMI versatility
RCA compatible
Built in media player to play off of flashdrive/SD card
Great picture but not quite full 1080p HD

Cons:
Only works in low light/dark environment on a white sheet/screen (only 25 lumens afterall)
Tripod is a joke
Internal speakers are a joke
only ~80 minute battery life when it's not connected to external power source. Not enough for a whole movie
Work as advertised
February 10, 2014
I was highly skeptical of this projector when I first placed the order, but I'm pretty impressed by the quality. I'll try to keep this short and post some [hopefully] helpful stuff.

*It's not 1080P, but 1080 text shows up really clear.
*Anything above a 45"-ish screen is going to dim the quality of the projection. You can reduce surrounding lights to mitigate this, your results may vary.
*The built in video player plays MKV files, pretty impressed. I didn't even have to hook up to a computer, it plays right off of my USB 3.0 external HD.
*Don't forget to pick up a mini-HDMI to HDMI converter.
*Tri-pod's kinda flimsy, I usually just detach the tri-pod and set it flat on some boxes. It's also really light, so your cables may tug on it due to weight/tension.
*I use it with a MHL cable to project my tablet, works like a charm. Even projects vertical/horizontal orientations properly.
*Play through the menus, there's a lot of settings for customization
*I dropped it a few times (about 5 feet-ish), so far nothing's broken (no loose parts when I shook it), although that's not something I'm trying to repeat.

For around $100, you really can't get much better than this. I use it to play movies for some get togethers, we usually have it project a 65"-ish projection, I lose out a little bit on quality, but where are you going to get a 65" projection for $100? For comparison, a 40" projection is near perfect quality, as good as a TV.

I love this thing
July 17, 2014
It's not very user friendly. So you need to be tech savy. The directions suck. Tech support is non-existent. But the more I play with it the more I love it. Room does not need to be dark. Just need a good place to project it on. My only complaint is that the feature to slide show doesn't work. I've tried everything. I ended up making a video and putting it on a micro sd card instead. But the sound is low so I bought a tiny portable speaker. It works perfect. This projector is wireless so the complaints that it doesn't work with laptops or other devices is confusing. Even if you can't use wireless, buy an adapter that hooks up the two devices.

Awesome with one weird flaw
May 23, 2017
I was surprised by this mini projector's small size, light weight and crisp resolution. It's not particularly bright, but for small scale work in not-too-bright places, this thing is awesome. Plus it plays video, audio and pictures off SD cards and flash drives AND has an HDMI in AND a built-in speaker AND a headphone jack. Use this to engulf yourself in YouTube meditation videos! There's only one weird flaw. The unit comes with an unusual "y" power cable that plugs into TWO USB ports simultaneously to charge. The problem is that on my laptop (Powerbook) the USB ports are on opposite sides of the machine. This means I have to use a USB extension cable (USB female to male) to get a proper charge.

May 22, 2017
For the love of God can someone help me?!?!?! I have bought every cable out there. No connection. Downloaded every app. No connection. Attempted on my iPad mini no cord to link up? Attempted on my lg10 and no connection. Anyone know the exact cords (names etc.) I'm not electronic savy. Any apps? Please and thank you. I have googled and been searching but can't find anything.

4 stars because it's great image but I need it to connect.
It was easy to set up with my Mac
March 22, 2017
I used this for cookie decorating and it worked well and really helped improve the consistency of my piping. It was easy to set up with my Mac, you just need to make sure you have the right cords (mini HDMI + converter for Mac). My only complaint is that the battery life is so short. Make sure you plan your piping by allowing 2-hr breaks every 80" or so to recharge the projector.
Wow! Go team AAXA!
July 19, 2016
This little thing is amazing! The perfect bring anywhere do anything pocket projector. I'm only deducting a star due to the line noise produced by the head phone jack, it seems it's not shielded properly. If you're using audio over HDMI or Analog, there is perfect sound. Battery also lasted us our entire session - we haven't reached the end of the battery to tell how long it will last though. You can also just power it via micro usb cable - however, it does not charge the battery if the projector is in use, only when it is off. The mini speaker inside is good for troubleshooting but i wouldn't count on it for any backyard Netflix movie night. I'm not even faulting that, i'm more surprised that they somehow crammed a speaker into this thing! Aside from the line noise from the headphone jack, this is the perfect product.
Still happy with this thing after several months of intermittent use
April 2, 2015
This thing is unbelievably light and small for the price, and not that difficult to use either. It also projects a pretty crisp picture and even in a daylit room, the image was visible on most light-colored surfaces (provided the sun wasn't ALSO shining directly on that surface). The speaker was decent and clear. I haven't tested the battery to its limits yet, but it didn't show any sign of conking out on me when I was walking around the house testing the thing. It also plays media on its own - the transition for images was a bit slow, but it displayed them fine, and movie playback was not a problem. It is neat that you can pop in a micro-SD card or USB drive and display media without a computer/DVD player/etc. The menu system is a tad wonky, but not a deal-breaker by any means.
There's no keystone correction, but what do you expect for such a small, lightweight device?

The reason this doesn't get 5 stars is there are a few things that the low price can't excuse
-the buttons have no labels - I guess ink...is expensive? Maybe they really, really, really needed to save on weight, and couldn't afford that extra gram for labeling.
-the AAXA doesn't recognize gif images. I understand, though - the format's only been around for about 27 years now; they probably haven't heard of it yet.

All kidding aside, this feels like a solid little tool for a reasonable price.

One caveat - I have not encountered a USB DC adapter that will power this thing while it is running - the only way I could get it to stay on while plugged in was to use the special Y-cable that came with it and plug both USB connectors from that into a powered hub I had lying around. This is a bit clumsy, but serviceable.

Works but you need a very dark area
April 21, 2014
I bought this for small meetings in my office. The setup was easy if you just follow the directions. The unit works, but as with a lot of the Pico projectors it simply does not display bright enough or with a high enough resolution to review business documents. With the lights in the office and the blinds closed you can sort of read a word document, but it is not practical. I did stream a basketball game and it was OK for that -- but just barely. Personally, I would have rather spent the extra $$ have bought a brighter unit.Shipping also took a while because apparently "in stock" mean in stock in Hong Kong.....

August 14, 2017
May I ask why after a certain period it suddenly shuts down? I just bought it and I play movies while i have it charging, yet after an hour or so it goes off. it is not in battery mode, because I charge it while i watch movie. So whats going on?

If i solve this issue then it gets five stars without question!!!
Good for if you really need it to be this ...
May 26, 2017
Good for if you really need it to be this small and you are going to use it in a dark room.
I mistakenly got this even though I could have gotten a bigger one, and the light is very weak in a half-lit room.
Not really for presentations.
No audio in mkv video files with the built in player - so far, at least.
October 19, 2016
Disappointing that although it can play a very wide range of video files from local storage, it can't play the audio tracks in MKV files, or at least, I haven't found any audio tracks in MKV files that play from local storage. Quite a lot of my video is in mkv format, and I'd liked the idea of having a player which could play them without needing a computer up and running. I may have an MHL type connector around which will work for one of my tablets to talk to this thing, but I'm not 100% that I do, in which case I'd need the computer running and at that point the projector becomes a "why am I carrying this also?" device if I need to carefully plan what I'll watch based on what format it's in and what's powered up.

A projector this small doesn't add a lot of utility to a laptop if you need both up and running to feed it a usable video signal. Adding an additional point of failure doesn't make a lot of sense given the marginal benefit.
I have great confidence in what I've seen so far
February 19, 2016
Excited to get my projector today. Got it to turn on for about 3 seconds and then it cut off. Hopefully after I give it a full charge it will work.

After full charge it powere on easily. I was able to hook it to my iPad and project whatever was on the screen from live camera, utube, dish anywhere, amazons movies to PowerPoint as long as the lettering was large. I was impressed with the image. I used a piece of copy paper clipped to a box as a screen for setting up and all my lights were on. I got a clear picture. When I turned the lights off and projected it on the ceiling far away I was still impressed. I recommend it.

I tried hooking it to my lg G4 phone and my lg g8 tablet with no luck at all. I just got a message saying no signal detected. I will try a different cable to take it from mini sub tomorrow hdmi and see if that works later. I even went into the developer options on my phone and set it up to use the cable to pass data back and forth and not just as a charging cable.

A USB flash drive worked fine but a portable hard drive did not

The only cable choices are composite and hdmi. Once it is hooked to the iPad with an hdmi cable it works fine. I have not tried the other cable. The menu choices on the opening screen are for finding files in a usb drive or sd card and have nothing to do with cable connections. One neat thing I found is that the screen can time out and go black and the picture continues to play. Some files on the iPad worked as air play and only showed up on the projected image but most things just mirrored the screen.

I am disappointed that my android devices don't work yet but I am hoping to figure it out. I have not figured out what the enclosed cable does. It is USB to USB with an attached mini USB cable. I assume it is for computer connection but I have not tried that.

The mini tripod is useable if you clip all the cables together and balance it. I like the threaded tripod attachment on the camera so I can hook it to something more substantial. I want to try one of those self standing tripod selfie sticks with it.
Neat for dark room
February 19, 2016
It is just amazing what they can do now days , to give a perspective on size it is about the size of 2 iPhone 4 stacked on top of each other ,
Don't forget a mini HDMI cable end for the projector
Now this is really ment for a dimly lit or dark room, I was hoping to use in my small office at work but unless all lights off is difficult at best to see. I bought this over a 32" TV , it is just to display pictures for jobs so I can go over what my installers are about to encounter on site.
Fan noise, you can hear it but with a movie on not noticible ok for small room playing movies such as RV or bedroom.
Buttons on top NOT labeled, but pretty much ON and select and arrows figure it out in 3 minutes,
Tip, ya have to hold power button for a good 5-10 seconds you will push it and fan will turn on thinking it is on but it is not, hold it untill green light on . then to turn off press power 2x and off.

The product arrived earlier than expected. I was able to connect my ipad to it but have been unable to bring up a powerpoint presentation on it - which is why we purchased it. There are no manuals with it and the online documentation that i found was in Chinese or some other language. I suspect that this has more to do with the app and not the hardware but the fact remains that we have not been able to utilize it as we intended.I will try again in a couple of days and update my review if i get different results.

Hdmi port doesn't work right (2 different mini hdmi cables used). They don't provide a mini hdmi cable. The GUI is on par with the old Nokia handsets, except this doesn't have snake. Overall the image was decent at best but the hdmi issues made this a bust. Look elsewhere and save yourself an headache.
No hdmi cable, no keystone, very dim
January 10, 2017
This is a decent projector. It gives a decent quality viewable projection of about 40" in a pitch dark room, even then it's very dim. With a bit of ambient light the quality reduces drastically (almost to the point of being unviewable). There is no keystone adjustment which is a big issue. The projector has to be placed exactly parallel to the viewing surface, which becomes a problem if the correct position hangs in the middle of the room. Also, it does not include any hdmi cable in the box, even though that is necessary to connect to laptop. How hard is to include a decent hdmi cable in the box.
... used it right out of the box and was satisfied. However
September 5, 2016
I used it right out of the box and was satisfied. However, when I had an evening set up around the projector, the battery just wouldn't work. It stopped holding a charge and happened to be just out of warranty. The sound is awful, but the picture for the price is amazing in the dark.
Very, very good for the money, but too many problems
April 24, 2014
Yes, you need to be in a very dim or dark room if you want to project large pictures, but the quality of the screen is great. unfortunately, it's plauged by problems like, composite video has a poor response time, the settings do nothing to change the picture, and on my unit, the green and red LEDs were in the wrong place, but hey, it works very vell, even wii U looks good on this thing, a little higher quality than the gamepad itself.

All in all, I would still recomend it, but don't expect absolutely everything to be perfect, but if you're only talking about projecting a high-quality image, then this is perfect

Edit: unfortunately, I have to lower my rating to two stars because it has another flaw, and this one fatal, this projector is extremely susceptible to irreversible screen burn-in. I will be returning my projector. The only reason I don't go down to 1 star is because I love the company to death with how great their costumer support is. Hopefully their other projectors don't have so many problems. If you're looking for a fun projector to use occasionally in very dark rooms and don't care much if something happens to it, this is for you. If you plan on using this for prolonged periods of time, find another projector.
Cheaper than a Big Screen - EDIT: Does not work anymore after 4 months.
April 2, 2014
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
EDIT: 07/16/2014
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
After 4 months of use (more or less twice a week), the unit died. I get a grey frame, no image, no sound. If I reset the projector (power off-on cycle), I recover the image/video, but then after about 5 minutes it goes back to grey again. Useless from now on, and I don't recommend it anymore. I was expecting at least a year for it to die, so I have to say I am very disappointed. I am giving 2 stars, and I am being generous because it actually worked for some time.

ORIGINAL REVIEW
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
OK, so I moved in to an apartment for the next 6 months. Knowing that I have to move back to my home country, I wasn't purchasing a big LCD/LED screen, so I looked for a small, cheap projector.

This guy is small, comparable in size to my Moto G. It is not heavy, although for its size you will feel its weight. The case is made of plastic, and feels kind off cheap. But don't get me wrong, I was not expecting an aluminum case for the price, but if you think that "feeling" is important look elsewhere. It has an adjustable focus knob, but no tilt correction, which is a shame because the included tripod is very basic and you will have to struggle some time to get everything in place, not a big deal for me though.

Regarding the image quality, I am not an expert, but it looks fairly well. Contrast is very poor (200:1), so you won't see the "blackest blacks", nor vivid colors as well. However, if all you want is to share a movie with some friends or show some pictures, it is fine. The projectors supports a bunch of resolutions, but you will get the most by using 1280x800 or 960x540 (in HDMI mode, haven't tried AV).

This little guy also provides some *very basic* audio playback. Again, the unit is smaller than my hand, so I wasn't expecting a 5:1 surround system. However, if you like watching movies, an external audio playback unit is highly recommended.

Light conditions for optimal contrast depends on the person, but I guess the darkest the best. You can still see the image in a fairly illuminated room, but be aware that the "bulb" it's about 5 Watts (based on the power consumption of the unit)

In summary, I was expecting a much worse quality projector, but I was surprised in how well it works. I do believe, however, that the quality of the unit could be improved, and I would not bother paying 20 extra dollars for a better, tougher case and a real tripod.

Finally, buy the mini-HDMI to whatever-your-connection-is cable. The AV its fine when hooked up to DVD players and so, but I think most people will use it with a computer. And be smart, don't buy the 1 dollar cable; the connector of this unit seems fairly exposed to be a victim of these low quality cables.

Great size, terrible battery life
June 25, 2017
Got this for trips so we could watch movies off of the computer without having to cram onto one small screen. Figured the 80 minute battery life would be okay given everyone's attention span. However, even after several full charges, the longest life has only been about 40 minutes. Disappointing to say the least. And because it won't play and charge at the same time, it is frustrating for all involved. This is not one of my best choices...

Battery dies after a year (holds no charge - like 10 minutes). I've been using this on and off for a year and it looks like the battery will not hold charge now. That's 1 year of life. It's not a bad projector but I expect the battery to be more capable and last a few years at least.
