Five Star Reviews: | 76% Works Amazingly August 9, 2017 This works very well and very easily. I followed the instructions, and added some rubber cement before I shoved the rubber thing in. It held immediately, and within a couple hours I drove my family 200 miles north with no issues or air loss. I would highly recommend this! I did however need to use a metal round file with a slightly smaller diameter than the one provided, my puncture hole was a little too small for the included one in the kit to fit. This baby saved my tire and my trip! Does what it should - nice kit August 1, 2017 Things I like: #1, it works. Easy to use. Have patched a tire in a riding mower and on an ATV. Both are 100% successful. #2, it comes with a little plastic case to keep everything in its place and free of dust and what not. No complaints at all. Guess I should have read the other comments to see what others didn't like, but this is my honest opinion. Have a good day! who knew plugging a tire was so easy? There are plenty of videos on YouTube showing ... October 19, 2016 I learned how to plug a tire from my neighbor, he showed me how to do it in just a few minutes so when I saw this on sale on Amazon for almost 1/2 price I bought 3 kits. I used it today,I had a slow leak which was setting off the tpms so I looked and found a screw in my truck tire. I was able to make the repair without removing the tire, garages around here charge $15 for tire plugging and it's a hassle jacking truck ,taking tire off, taking to garage and waiting for them to make the repair, who knew plugging a tire was so easy? There are plenty of videos on YouTube showing how to do it. I keep one in my truck, and my wife and sons cars now. Nice set to have in your vehicle August 24, 2016 Good buy,This is really a great thing to have in your car.I hope I will never have to use it but, in case of emergency I definitely want to have this tire repair close.while you will need some skill to fix your flat tire by yourself, you can do it as it is not a 'nuclear science' LOLI do have to mention that if you have this in your car and you do have to use it in case you have a flat tire.Make sure you have something to inflate your tire as well, there is several portable electrical tire pumps/ Inflators around. I suggest you get one as well. otherwise this product wont do any good. Unless you are at home and fixing your own tire. But for the roadside emergency, better be ready then sorry. you never know where it can happen.Otherwise, I am very pleased with this purchaseIf you found my review helpful, please vote “Yes.” Money saver July 6, 2016 Nice kit. Will save you a lot of money over time. Pretty easy to plug a tire if you have this kit. easy way to plug a tire that's been punctured by a screw November 5, 2015 The kit seems to be a good value. My one caution is that the material seems very sensitive to temperature - the box was left out in the sun when delivered and the "strings" got really gummy and almost fused together inside the case. It was kind of a bummer at first, but I was able to separate a couple of pieces to use, and they appeared to work properly regardless of what had happened. The whole process of plugging two tires took less than ten minutes, after simply advancing the position of the tires until the offending screw heads were in full view and accessible. It was easier to do with the front tire, since turning the steering wheel gives better accessibility. It took a little bit more "oomph" to press the slug into the rear tire because it was a tad harder to get my weight behind the tee handle for a good "power shove". Overall, it's less of a cost savings thing but worth the convenience of not having to bring your car to the shop to get it done. | 90% There are no reviews yet |
Four Star Reviews: | 18% During the 2nd attempt - the hole was widened to fit the tool and the plug has worked great! It's been at least a month since th January 4, 2017 In the case of my leak, the hole was a lot smaller than the tool/sticky gum used to plug the hole. This took some trial and error. The first plug didn't work. I had a completely flat tire the next morning. During the 2nd attempt - the hole was widened to fit the tool and the plug has worked great! It's been at least a month since the tire was plugged and it's still going strong. Happy with this purchase :) Good kit but needs more glue December 8, 2013 I've had this before and it does the job, but small tube of glue doesn't go very far. Bought a small can of glue to go with this one and keep the kit and tube of glue in my vehicle for emergencies. Very much worth it! February 15, 2008 This product has everything one could want to repair a hole in a tire. I bought this for my husband and he was very pleased with the quality and quantity of the items. It has plugs of varying sizes and the little tools that inserts them. He tried one and it worked perfectly. I would recommend this to anyone in the market for one. I am particularly pleased with the fact that it will last any ordinary user years and years! | 7% There are no reviews yet |
Three Star Reviews: | 3% Works OK, but instructions are missing steps and there's no blade to cut the plug once installed. April 15, 2016 I had to use it today on my Chevy Volt, which has no spare tire. Fortunately, I had used this kind of kit before. The instructions are incomplete. They don't explain the step you need to take with the reamer or how to use the rubber cement. It just shows the plug being jammed into the hole. Be sure to ream the hole first, then put rubber cement on the insertion tool and run it in and out of the hole several times before inserting the plug. Also, you need to cut of the ends of the plug which aren't inserted. That's hard to do since there's no blade in the kit. You'll want to add a razor blade or box cutter blade to the kit before putting it in your car. The plugs can't be inserted into the installation tool without expanding the end of the tool with a screwdriver blade--another thing you might want to include with your kit.On mine, it took a lot of effort to get the plugs off of the backing paper. I've got a lot of finger strength. I think some folks would have trouble with getting the plugs off. nice little kit September 27, 2015 have yet to use this, but the quality of the products inside this kit look to be good. | 3% There are no reviews yet |
Two Star Reviews: | 1% Could not get it to work June 29, 2011 Quick delivery and a nice set of material. I could not, however, get the tire patching material to work. I removed a good size screw from my tire, used the provided reamer and then tried to insert the plug. I am strong enough to do most heavy labor but I could not push the plug through into the hole. It, and the provided hook was just too wide. So, I lost an hour and just took it to a tire shop. In the past, I have done this successfully with other kits where the tool is more like a needle and the plug is thinner, but just could not manage with this one. | 0% There are no reviews yet |
One Star Reviews: | 2% garbage. dont even waste time looking at it December 27, 2016 if your looking for a toy this is the product for you, garbage. dont even waste time looking at it. tools are flimzy and bend Incorrect product description. Buyer beware June 26, 2014 This kit does not include the "4-way valve tool, 4 cores, 4 plastic valve caps" as listed in the product description. If you were looking for those tools, you will be disappointed. | 0% There are no reviews yet |
