Great product!
April 3, 2017
Great product, convenient "paste" tube, and GREAT for travel. I use smaller Lodge cast iron pots and pans for camping, so I need seasoning while at camp. This stuff works great. I use it on brand new Lodge Pre-Seasoned product and also on older seasoned cast iron. I have even seasoned raw cast iron with it and it works well. Applies easily to warm or hot cast iron, and then absorbes without being tacky or sticky.
Great conditioner and a good price
November 3, 2016
Great conditioner and a good price. I use cast iron skillets almost daily and after I wash these I dry them and apply this with a paper towel to the pan. It makes my pans look new. You should not put up your cast iron without using this product! I've been using it for about six years.
Very good product
January 29, 2016
I have really been enjoying the way my cast iron looks and feels using this product. Even my old reliable cast iron looks great. I have been reclaiming some very neglected family cast iron and this is the best I have found to bring back the seasoning to a usable level. What I appreciate most is that when you are finished seasoning the item, it is not sticky. With other oils or lard, you have a sticky residue that is just not as nice to use. I highly recommend this for anyone wanting to use their cast iron again, or for the new cast iron owner.
so far, so good

My husband used my two cast iron dutch ovens to make corned beef, but neglected to wash out the pots afterward. Needless to say, when I discovered the ruination of the years of seasoning destroyed by the salt brine, I wanted to cry. This product is so much better than using vegetable oil or shortening as I have done in the past. It seals the surfaces well and does not leave a sticky residue. Hope it gets back to at least an approximation of the old coating. Only time will tell.
Got cast Iron? Then you need this!
April 3, 2014
I use this stuff after cleaning my ovens and coat them before storage.I have been a very happy camper pulling my ovens out and being fully ready thank to this product!.Suggestions for use. Clean dutch oven with a good solid NEW, Ocello spoke ( My preferred) as they are toughand yet not to rough on the ovens. and some good hot hot water. Wipe out dry off. Get a thin clean rag and put drops ofthis product all over your oven Inside and outside. Wipe it all in and don’t worry about to thick. does not have to be a super thick coat but you do want to wipe over the entire oven and lid!..
Great product ( keep an eye on the price )
October 15, 2013
I love this conditioner! I use it every time I cook with my cast iron. Some reviews have said that the conditioner is inconsistent which is true some tubes are a nice and smooth paste, some are chunky and hard to get out, but aside from that its a wonderful product. But keep an eye on the price it fluctuates I have seen it go down to $4.75. buy at this price. I do not feel it is worth the $9 it goes up to.

Good stuff!
June 11, 2017
This stuff works very well. I was brought up on saddle soap and neatsfoot oil. I have not used much else, but this works very well to condition purses without leaving greasy residue. Without knowing what some of the competition is like I would say this is pretty darn good. I liked it enough to buy another product from the company.
I trust my most expensive boots to Bick.
March 23, 2017
I had one boot out of a pair that was a bit tight in the heel. After only 2 applications of Bick on my full quill ostrich leather heel, it's a perfect fit. My pair of Caiman boots was hard to get off and had a spot that rubbed my little toe. After a few days of wearing them after using Bick, I now have a perfect fitting pair of Caiman and Ostrich boots.I used it on a brand new $200.00 leather blazer and besides darkening it to a nice, dark chocolate I'm protected from light showers.
Great Conditioner!
January 31, 2017
This has become a vital ingredient in my blend to assist with achieving a perfect slick edge on my leather holsters, sheaths, belts and rifle slings. Also used it on a pair of old worn all time favorite boots and it worked fantastic to revitalize and condition the leather.

November 11, 2016
I purchased this after watching someone on YouTube use it. When I received it I used it on a leather Dooney & Bourke handbag. It did a fabulous job. The leather just shone, but it also helped erase slight scratches. It did not dsrken the leather at all. The bag looked almost new. Will continue using this product after seeing the results.
Literal boot saver
August 18, 2016
AMAZING!! I have some Ariat boots that are a few years old. Poor things have never been treated well. Other boot polishes just dulled the scratches out. When I applied this solution, I was pretty skeptical because it looks like hair conditioner, but it is amazing. I bought one for my dad. The picture speaks for itself. (After on the left. Before on the right.)
One of two essential leather care products
November 14, 2011
I like leather products, and I like to take care of my stuff, so the right leather care product is critical. I've used a great many over the years and have settled on two as being clearly superior: Bick 4 and Leather Honey (Leather Honey Leather Conditioner, the Best Leather Conditioner 8oz Bottle). They are quite different from each other.Bick 4: I'm pretty sure this stuff is what North Beach Leather used to sell under their own name. It is a lanolin/oil lotion that really works. I use it bare handed, and my skin feels soft and good afterwards. It doesn't darken leather, and it cleans as it works if I wipe it up before it is all soaked in. I've used it on my wife's old Chanel purse, an Armani jacket, and some Coach gloves. In every case, it did exactly what I wanted, making the leather softer, more suppler, and feel great. It is easy to wipe Bick 4 off of areas it is unwanted, like plastic or metal.Leather Honey: Leather Honey has a unique effect, making leather somehow feel denser and more hydrated. It is hard to explain, but it is very different than the effect of more lotion-like products, and I've tried a lot of them. On my favorite ten-year-old leather jacket from North Beach Leather, Leather Honey soaked in quickly in certain spots, and I added some more. After two hours, there was nothing to wipe away. The already heavy jacket feels heavier, better, and the results have proven to hold up and add more rain resistance. A new black leather feels more supple. A pair of black Ferragamos appear less abraded at the toe. Brown Sebago deck shoes certainly got more supple and soaked in a lot. The color darkened. That brings me to the three small caveats: 1) Leather Honey is not a cleaner. Since it isn't water-based like lotion products, dirt stays. For example, on the Sebagos, an area that was a bit dirty was just the same, but the leather under it was clearly treated. 2) Leather Honey doesn't evaporate on plastics and rubbers, nor does it wipe off that easily. A day after treating the Sebagos, the soles still had Leather Honey on them, now somewhat sticky. Obviously I should have done a better job of wiping. 3) Leather honey can and will darken some light leathers.Which one should you use?I use Bick 4 for thinner leathers, or ones for which darkening would be a problem, or if I'm trying to clean and condition in one step. If the words that come to mind with the leather you're treating are "soft," "buttery," or "thin," then use Bick 4. Its effect won't last as long as Leather Honey's, but it works, and it works beautifully, doing just what you want a leather conditioner to do.I use Leather Honey for thick leathers that I want to feel more like high quality leather. Think cow hide over lamb skin. I make sure the leather is clean, and use Leather Honey if water resistance is important. I use Leather Honey if the leather is really bad, because it does more than the Bick 4. I use it when some darkening wouldn't be a problem. Leather Honey makes all leather more, er, leathery, and I mean that in a good way.

Runny but works well
August 8, 2017
No odor. Works well. Seems runny so I have no issues spreading the product on to the cast iron skillet, but that could be b/c it's summer time.
Great for old cast iron
March 6, 2017
Not necessary, but really nice to condition your cast iron, particularly old, disused cast iron you're bringing back to life
Great product but will need to transfer to a jar b/c you can't get this out of the tube!
June 25, 2016
This product works well on my cast iron skillets. However, it is impossible to get this stuff out of the tube! I have purchased this product a few times now and upon receiving it, I cut open the tube and transfer the contents into a half-pint size canning jar.
Although I coated my skillet like 3 times
October 17, 2015
It did as it said... Although I coated my skillet like 3 times...then wiped and then got frustrated and then put it up and walked away.I'm still staring down my granmother's old ironside trying to figure out if I want to tackle it and if this stuff would be the perk at the end for sure...
Good Seasoning Oil
March 18, 2015
Good product for seasoning cast Iron pans. The only issue I run into at times is squeezing it out of the bottle. I keep my house around 65 degrees or so and this product has a need to be warmed up when that happens. At that point it can sometimes get too thin.I use this with a combination of bacon grease to season my pans.
Great for all cast iron cookware!
August 19, 2014
Great conditioner for your cast iron cookware. My normal procedure after cooking with cast iron, is to run it under hot water (don't use soap when washing cast iron), scrub with a chain cleaner (found here in amazon), then dry with a paper towel. After the cookware is dry, I use this conditioner sparingly, and apply with a clean paper towel. Rub it all over the cookware, then store in a cool, dry place.

Good Option for treating older leather
August 28, 2017
I am using this product on leather footballs that I am restoring. The product is good in that it is not thick or greasy, or glossy. It keeps the footballs looking original and simply newer. I would suggest a few coats before assuming your leather is ready for the elements. Application is a bit messy.
It works.
June 24, 2017
I used it on a pair of deerskin garden gloves after cleaning them with saddle soap and then Bickmore cleaner. They are now soft again, though they are still stained which is to be expected for a pair of well worn garden gloves.
But I bought a new bad for a computer and this conditioner to condition it
May 21, 2017
I am not an expert in this area. But I bought a new bad for a computer and this conditioner to condition it. My wife hated the smell, which I did not even notice. It moisturized and slightly darkened the leather and it looked good.
Reliable conditioner, does what it's supposed to
January 21, 2017
This conditioner is pretty, I must say. I used it on my leather backpack, which started to show signs of wear around the corners (since I use it everyday). Just as described, it doesn't darken the leather or change its shade. Doesn't make it shinny either, just gives it a little richness, as if bringing it back to life. You don't need to use a lot, so the bottle will last a while.I've giving it only 4 stars because of its smell. At first application, the leather will smell a little acidic, almost vinegary (I can't stand the smell of vinegar). My solution was to put the backpack on a hanger on the shower rod, open the window wide and close the door. Luckily, it was a cold day, so the fresh air dried the bag and got rid of the smell in a couple of hours.
Ease of application & consistency great, but didn't make much difference
January 18, 2017
I really liked the ease of application of this product, unfortunately it didn't make much of a difference on the purses & boots I tried it on. Granted, the pieces weren't overly dry or in bad condition to begin with, but I thought I'd see a shine after buffing or make them feel more supple or softer. It didn't, however, darken any of my brown leather which is a definite plus! I used this on a turquoise Coach purse and a coral Coach wristlet, some black Rebecca Minkoff handbags and a pair of brown Frye boots and there was no color transfer onto the cloth, meaning it didn't rub off any of the dyes used to finish the pieces, or darken my brown boots, which is great! I'll finish up the bottle because it certainly didn't hurt, damage or darken the pieces I used this on, and maybe after awhile I'll see a difference, but as of now, I'll stick with my regular Obenuaf's LP leather protector.

January 10, 2017
The item works well. Based on the reviews I expected a little more of a sheen on the leather after use. There is a little sheen, but even after buffing it is not as much as expected.

This doesn't seem to season pans that well and doesn't give clear instructions as to whether you're supposed to apply this to pans and then bake them or not.
Works with some difficulty.
September 28, 2016
Keeps my cast iron skillets coated and ready for more cooking. When it gets too cold sometimes it is hard to squeeze out of the opening. I had to stick a knife in the opening a few times to break up some of the caked pieces of it. It works well and makes everything look good as new once it's on.
Works but nearly impossible to get out of tube.
August 24, 2016
It's good for seasoning cast iron but it's nearly impossible to get out of the tube. I ended up cutting the end off and storing in a zip lock bag. That's why I gave it 3 stars and not 5. Other than that it did a good job!
Canola Oil is better.
July 15, 2016
Before I purchased this product I used Canola Oil it worked well. This product arrived I used it once. Canola Oil is better.
Can be tough to squeeze out of tube, paste like consistency gets hardened up
September 29, 2015
Has paste like consistency which seems to harden up to the point that I couldn't squeeze it out of the tube. You have to work the tube by squeezing it to mix it up to get it flowing sometimes. Once out of the tube it is easier to spread a thin layer over the pan with a paper towels, better if the pan is warmed up a bit. Seems to be working well for seasoning the pan, but I cant tell if it is actually better than normal oil or not
It's hard to dispense, the bottle broke open, and a dime-sized amount isn't enough
February 7, 2015
I don't know how to feel about this product right now. I've used it about four times, and each time, I've had issues. One issue is that a dime-sized amount doesn't seem to be enough; my rag is dry by the time I get to the bottom of my pan. So in the end, it's going to get expensive. Another issue: for some reason, mine is very difficult to dispense, and I ended up squeezing so much that the other end broke open. It splattered all over my floor. So for now, I'm going to say it's bad packaging and a mediocre product.

Conditions Your Leather
January 22, 2017
Bick 4 is what its title suggests, a leather conditioner. It is important to condition your leather products so that they do not dry out and start to age. My only expectation that was not fulfilled was the fact that many reviewers said that the scuff marks disappeared, this is not what a leather conditioner does and this is not what happens when you use a leather conditioner, so I don't know what I was thinking trusting that idea. If you want scuff marks or evenness to be restored you need a toned leather conditioner, one that matches the color of your bag. Otherwise all you are getting is a leather conditioner but to repair damage that has already occurred this is not what you need. Thinking about this I would have bought a just as effective leather conditioner at a lower price, because what I really needed was to restore already aged leather. All in all, the product is what it says it is: a Leather Conditioner.
Conditioning well, BUT smelly and darkens light brown leather
June 29, 2014
It smells... Smells like a vinegar. I goes away after a day. So, if you want something to use for quick conditioning and cleaning for shoes before going out. This is not for you. Once I did and went to work. I stank like vinegar for all day! If you use wax or something after that the smell seems go away.Note that it does darkens light brown leather.

Good until it stiffens in like two weeks. It's so stiff that I cannot squeeze anything out of it. I might just have to cut it open and put it in some container and use it. Also don't see much difference between just putting on regular veggie oil or coconut oil.

Flaxseed to season...Camp Chef to condition
December 22, 2015
I tried to season my 30 yr old lodge skillets with this and had horrible results. The skillets always seemed dirty leaving black residue when wiped with a clean cloth or paper towel. After much research I finally bought organic flaxseed oil and had night and day results. I do still use this product to thinly coat after washing and drying since flaxseed is not intended to cook with and the coconut oil does not go rancid. Overall this is a true conditioner just not good for seasoning.

When I received the oil I removed the tinfoil inside the lid. The next time I unscrewed the cap the oil started spilling out everywhere. I put the bottle upside down trying to save the oil but it didn't help. I lost a lot of the product. I guess this is not the right bottle for the product. I was very disappointed the first time using it I lost half the product.
I'm sure the product itself is good stuff for Cast Iron
January 14, 2015
I'm sure the product itself is good stuff for Cast Iron, but I hate hate HATE the tube for dispensing it. I keep my house cool, and it often takes me two hands to try and squeeze this stuff out of the container. Often I've had to resort to heating it up on the warm pan I'm looking to condition.

Definitely don't buy this if you're looking for a cleaner. Its an ok protector, but it's pretty hard to tell. Overall wouldn't purchase again
It is a fluid (like water) and doesn't work much better than water.
July 22, 2015
The folks at Oberon (Custom Leather Journal Makers in Ca.) suggested this stuff. I hate it because it is the consistency of water, doesn't work into the leather and as far as I can tell doesn't work much better than putting water on the leather.I have a product that is old which is move like a salve. The product ingredients are not on the old jar and it is not made any longer by the company I purchased it from, but it was fabulous. It left your leather feeling supple, filled in the light scratches, protected the leather from UV rays and basically I have leather goods that are 30 years old that people think I just purchased.I will use this stuff on my leather shoes but not on fine leather handbags, vintage leather or journals. For those I need a better product.

Works fine but weird smell
June 27, 2013
I have bought several different brands of leather lotion, and never had any real opinion about one working better than another, but decided this time to buy a larger volume to get more for my money. This had high reviews, I liked the packaging, and price was right. It worked fine. I used it on a leather ottoman that I frequently recondition. But the smell was just too much for me. Hard to describe, but like chemicals mixed with lemon. It lingers in the air too long and I am very sensitive to smells. I threw it out, and will find something else.

Don't fall for the Hype; use just any oil.
February 23, 2017
Aside from the fact it arrived so stiff I had to heat it up to get anything out of the tube, it's utterly useless and overpriced. You'd be better off just using any (I mean just about ANY) oil you have around and it will do the job. There is nothing in this that you likely don't already have, namely oil.Happy cooking!

Wonder if these positive reviews are real
May 24, 2017
Out of 100 different leather cleaners and conditioners here, I pulled the trigger on Bickmore because it had a lot of positive reviews. Most of the leather cleaners don't mention what or how it's made, so my purchase was strictly "reviews" driven. This product has two positives:1) It doesn't darken the shade of the leather2) It is odorlessI applied two heavy coats of Bickmore cleaner/conditioner and followed the directions but i didn't get expected results. I am not impressed at all since my leather couch doesn't look any different. The leather does feel a bit soft BUT I don't see any shine or clean look. As for the softness, it's been 24 hours and I can already feel that the leather is drying up. I have used up almost half of the bottle with zero results. At this point I feel that if I were to use any mild lotion it would probably give me similar results. I don't know what to make out of this product. Please honestly suggest if anybody know of a good leather cleaner/conditioner that actually WORKS.

Peeled and cracked like sunburned skin!
December 14, 2016
Used on a 5-year-old jacket from Wilson Leather that was fading. Applied as directed. Let it dry. At first, it looked great. The next day, it began peeling and flaking off everywhere. It looked and still looks terrible even after an hour spent scrubbing the product off. I contacted the company via Amazon e-mail twice and they NEVER bothered to respond. Very disappointing. Buyer beware! The first pic is a sample of the peeling/flaking. The second pic is of my floor after scrubbing this stuff off. The jacket looks like crap now and will probably have to be disposed of. It was my husband's "nice" jacket and now it's junk.
Not for designer bags

It stripped the color away from my MK bag. I was very angry. I wondered how the reviewers wrote they used on a coach bag. In any case, in the garbage it went. Never again.
