Five Star Reviews: | 89% The real thing. September 13, 2017 This is the latest version, genuine Ford oil filter for 6.0 diesel engines. It also comes with the o-ring. Very good price and product. I own a Ford Pickup and like to use OEM filters. August 28, 2017 Its Motorcraft, what more can I say. I changed the oil in my 6.0 liter diesel and used this motorcraft filter. Motorcraft August 11, 2017 This is the only filter you want to use on your 6.0 Diesel. Make sure you have a 36mm socket and some decent oil and a oil drain pan that will hold 15 quarts and you are set. Great Ford product March 5, 2017 This fit perfectly and is very well constructed. I love using actual motorcraft products on my Ford because I can gaurantee they will fit vs aftermarket products and other brands. Yes they are usually cheaper than motorcraft but you get what you pay for. This came in good packaging along with a few other maintenance items. I've been told this is the only filter to use ... July 5, 2016 I've been told this is the only filter to use in my 6.0 as others with the disposable caps are not the correct height. I'm on my 3rd one of these and they have performed well.Edit 1/10/2017 - I took a gamble and ordered some from seller HPDistribution for the low price of $11 each. I ended up with MFL-2016 which I guess is the Mexican version of the FL2016 as the packaging is entirely in Spanish. So while they may be the exact same thing the packaging was not as pictured on the order. The o-ring was loose in the box vs the others I have received from other sellers with o-ring in plastic bag. The filter material is not as bright yellow I hope they don't F up my truck. Factory filter, factory cap. April 28, 2016 Factory filter. Caution, verify the oil filter housing cap is the lower profile factory cap. Some aftermarket caps are sold with a taller cap that will not work correctly with the factory filter. Sometimes they are marked "do not reuse". Factory filter, factory cap. On the 6.0 the fuel filter cap mounted under the vehicle and the factory cap are the same size. | 79% The added grip makes for easy replacement. August 31, 2017 I've never had a problem with these filters and I've been using them for over 15 years. The added grip makes for easy replacement. Perfect fit June 15, 2017 it's an oil filter, whats not to love..I like the Fram with the rubber coating on the end. it makes it easy to untwist without losing your grip The oil filter is sideways under the car and I like how Fram filters allow you to apply torque by ... January 11, 2017 This one fitted on my 7th gen civic. The oil filter is sideways under the car and I like how Fram filters allow you to apply torque by hand. A GREAT PRODUCT!!! October 3, 2016 I HAVE BEEN USING FRAM OIL FILTERS FOR DECADES. THIS PRODUCT HAS KEPT MY 1992 DODGE D150 ENGINE FREE OF DEBRIS FOR YEARS. BECAUSE OF THIS FILTER, THE VEHICLE STILL HAS THE SAME ORIGINAL ENGINE!!! ... and it seems to be doing its job just fine. The grip makes it a lot better to ... September 1, 2016 Been over 300 miles since it was installed and it seems to be doing its job just fine. The grip makes it a lot better to loosen/tighten without needing a tool and it seemed to have more filtering capability than my old filter. ... ( got filters at wal-mart) for many years and pleased with performance August 2, 2014 Been using Fram filters on my 3 cars ( got filters at wal-mart) for many years and pleased with performance. Got them cheaper than Wally worlds price and did not have do drive 20 miles R/T. Use this filter on my 06 honda accord 4 cylinder, almost 200,000 miles changing oil & filter every 7 k miles other cars have only had Fram filters since I bought them new. |
Four Star Reviews: | 9% Cheaper Than Employee Price June 29, 2016 I only use Motorcraft filters in my 6.0 and working for a Ford dealership has it's perks but Amazon is cheaper than the employee price. | 13% It's an oil filter, by a name brand, with a nice grip strip August 22, 2017 I've been driving cars for almost 40 years, and have only once ever paid for an oil change - even at a modest 15K per year, that's over 600,000 miles.I've also, NEVER had a filter fail, or have a car die due to engine wear. This is important - unless you're subjecting your vehicle to a harsh environment, or heavy load, or grueling conditions, you really shouldn't need to spend a ton of money on some fancy, gold-plated, oil filter. Change it at the recommended interval, with the proper oil (right viscosity and API service classification), and a decent filter, and you should never have a problem.I like the grip-strip on Fram filters - it makes removal easier. Is it worth double the cost of another filter - well, no. If these are on-sale (or there's a rebate), bringing the price reasonably close to the others, the grip strip weighs my decision. It's an oil filter, unless you have the ability ... November 24, 2016 It's an oil filter, unless you have the ability to test how well they filter the particles in your oil, you really can't give an objective review. All I can say is that it fits and doesn't leak! I know that Fram does not have the best reputation, but I've never had a problem with ... August 25, 2016 I know that Fram does not have the best reputation, but I've never had a problem with them and I really like the grip edge which makes it so much easier to remove when its time to replace it. |
Three Star Reviews: | 1% It's really stupid to do otherwise August 18, 2015 It's the same price as everywhere else. I got if for an oil change that was becoming Due while I purchased a few other items. Using the ford parts for your 6.0l power stroke is a must. If nothing else the oil and fuel filters. It's really stupid to do otherwise | 4% For use with conventional oil. Not synthetic. May 9, 2016 For use with conventional oil. Not synthetic. |
Two Star Reviews: | 0% | 2% standard Fram oil filter August 24, 2017 The standard Fram oil filters are considered one of the poorest quality oil filters on the market. They have cardboard internal end caps and irregular filter medium held together by clips. These are constructed in Canada and quality control doesn't seem all that good. As someone else mentioned, go to YouTube and look up "oil filter comparisons" - you'll see how inferior Fram is compared to other brands. I used Fram for years, but will not buy any more after seeing these dramatic comparisons! LEAKY FILTER!! BEWARE!! April 6, 2016 I gave it 2 Stars because 1. It has a grip for easy removal 2. it's reasonably priced. I changed my oil on Feb 2016. 2 months and 1000 miles later, I started see oil patches on the ground. I looked under and it was coming from the Filter Seal/Gasket. Maybe I had a bad batch or all FRAM filters are like this. Because of this, it caused so much inconvenience. Please put your money into a reputable brand and stay away from this unless you want to risk it. Fram is poor quality February 25, 2011 The standard Fram oil filters are considered one of the poorest quality oil filters on the market. They have cardboard internal end caps and irregular filter medium held together by clips. These are constructed in Canada and quality control doesn't seem all that good. As someone else mentioned, go to YouTube and look up "oil filter comparisons" - you'll see how inferior Fram is compared to other brands. I used Fram for years, but will not buy any more after seeing these dramatic comparisons! seeing is believing. December 6, 2010 i am not here to tell people what to buy or what not to buy. it is a 4 dollar part that is used to protect your engine, which might be thousands of dollars if it break in anyway.i highly recommend people search youtube videos using tags like oil filter compare, or something similar. there are tons and tons videos of people who crack open numerous oil filters and show you the inside. simply put, Fram is always, ALWAYS, the most cost cutting and worse out of any filter comparison that i have seen to date. (side note, Honda's oil filter look just like Fram, but cost double, what a bunch of blood suckers)spend a little extra now, can save you a lot later. my advice. |
One Star Reviews: | 1% The oil filter didn't even come with a new o-ring ... June 16, 2016 The oil filter didn't even come with a new o-ring for the oil filter cap. Hopefully the old one lasts another 5,000 miles. One Star September 2, 2015 The rubber gaskets don't seal. Tried 2 boxes. Then bought from dealership and worked perfectly. | 2% INSPECT THE FILTERS BEFORE YOU INSTALL ON YOUR VEHICLE September 7, 2015 Filters arrived as promised but all 6 filters were rusted inside the filter area, unusable. Returned and purchased a different brand filter from another source. Garbage. January 26, 2014 The gaskets on these filters can separate from the filter housing. If, like me, you have a vehicle where you can't easily see the filter connection, that old gasket can easily get left behind and results in a bad seal when you screw on the new filter by feel alone. The resulting mess is indescribable. Flimsy Junk December 26, 2013 I've used these Fram orange Extra Guard filters for years on all my family's cars. After seeing the inside of these filters and how poorly they're constructed, it's difficult to see how these do any thing at all. Look for yourself on Youtube. The insides of these filters are almost entirely constructed of paper. At 30 PSI of oil pressure, it seems that these would be prone to leaking under stress. The Fram Tough Guard filters don't seem to be any better. Purolator seems like a better option at a minimum. Needless to say, I won't be using Fram any longer. |
