I bought this scale in January of 2015. It is perfect for light weight items and precise enough to accurately determine one stamp or more. It worked well for over 2 years then one day it stopped working. New battery didn't help. Sent inquiry to WeighMax and explained the issue. Without delay they acknowledged my request for advice, parts or replacement. The sent a new scale immediately and had it within less than a week. New scale works fine and it is refreshing to not only have a good product but, also know there are still companies that stand behind them. Thank you WeighMax.

Excellent scale compared to some of the other scales that I have used in the past. I've primarily used this for smaller packages when selling things on Ebay. This product is very accurate and very light. I am very happy to have purchased this scale and would highly recommend it.

This a good scale for postage. But I also wanted to weigh herbs. It doesn't show the odd numbers and with grams, It showed 3 grams, then 6 grams, then 9 grams. So, if you though the item was 3 grams, in reality it actually was 8 grams. But for postage using ounces it is fine. And it weighs up to 25 lbs.

easy to use, easy to handle and store.I particularly like the HOLD button which makes it easy to weigh larger packages which can be removed to read the weight.

I particulary like that this unit runs on a 9V battery and doesn't need an AC adapter (which it doesn't come with). I don't ship much, and without having to hassle with an AC adapter, I find it is small enough to simply turn off, stick in the drawer, and then pull out when needed. Very convenient unit.

I've been thinking about purchasing a postal scale for awhile, and finally got around to doing it. I wish I had done it earlier! It makes shipping so easy--I can get an accurate weight on the package at home, so simply purchase postage online and schedule my mail carrier to pick up the box the next day. Love it!I'm glad I went with the 25 lb capacity scale instead of the 5 lb one. For just a couple dollars more, it's well worth it.

Accurate and does the job. The top opening up is a nice bonus if you have smaller items, envelopes, or folders you need to weigh often. The separate scale reader helps to see clearly instead of other scales that have the numbers attached to the main scale unit.The good thing about this scale is that you can easily change the weight units to both Kg and LB. It is also portable because you can use the included batteries to move the scale around, or save batteries and plug the scale and use power.The only con for me is that I do wish the scale was a little bit larger because I use it mainly for weighing boxes. Sometimes when I have very large boxes, I have to make sure the whole box is completely on the scale and not leaning to one side, in order to get the accurate weight.

I've certainly used general purpose scales in the past, but this was my first experience with a shipping scale, and I have to say, it does the job well for its price point. The base itself is not too big, so the long cable to keep the controller separate is very helpful. The accuracy isn't perfect by any means, but it's accurate to about a tenth of an ounce, which is good enough for shipping purposes. I've read in other reviews some issues with power saving mode kicking in, but I'm not doing enough shipping at this point for that to be an issue for me. Overall I'm really happy with the product, as it will very quickly pay for itself in saved shipping pricing.

I have a small digital scale, but is fragile and its range was limited. My wife has begun her ebay career, and needed an accurate scale which would measure weight ranging from less than an ounce to over 100lb. This scale fits the bill, and she loves it !! The manufacturer says the scale can measure up to 170 lb...have never tried that, but did weigh a few objects over 30 lb, and this scale matched the scale at the post office EXACTLY.The scale is small enough to fit in a desk drawer, and the fold out upright sides corral those objects that are hard to contain,

Great scale so far. I was concerned about the few negative reviews but I have weighed a few calibration blocks from other scales and this was spot on. Occasionally it will vary +/- 0.1oz for the same item, but that is more than accurate enough for its intended purpose (shipping) It does read pounds and ounces so it is super easy to enter into the computer for shipping. Tare function works as expected as well. It was also a nice touch to include batteries as well as an alternate method to power it. The warranty card says this scale carries a 10 year warranty so that is a bonus.

I checked out scales at local office shops and they were very expensiv. i decided to search online and it is a good thing I did. This one that reaches 110 lbs is perfect. You fdo not pwant to push any scale to its limits and I figure 50 pounds is my limit. I had worries that smaller plastic parts may be too cheap, but how robust do they need to be? I do not use the AC adapter northe USB cord. batteries work fine and they are included. The screen is HUGE, I can actually see it without my glasses. A nice blue/purple hue too, easier on the eyes than red. The wire connecting the scale to the readout looks like an RJ11 phone cord.At first I thought this would send data into the computer but I really do not want that. It's one more thing to go wrong. The scale is well built and I am very pleased with it. I would not hesitate to by it again!

Weighs accurately. A nickel should weigh 5 grams. So a stack of 10 nickels should weigh 50g on this scale, whether bare, or with a 3 pound wooden circle and the scale being tared. This scale does show 50g (and sometimes 48 or 52 with just the bare scale, as it seems lighter weights are slightly more off.) I also tried lesser increments (10g, or 20g,) and it was always within 0.1oz of the correct weight. The display being corded instead of on the device allows me to see the display even when something large is on the platform. I use this to weigh cats that are between 7-14 pounds and also will be using it to weigh kittens after one of our cats gives birth. I will post pictures.

I purchased three each to use for weight & balance of model airplanes. Well made, easy to use and just the right capacity for my purpose. However the on time is somewhat short, around 30 to 40 seconds. I have to scramble to get all 3 reading before the timeout and turn off.

I would definitely recommend purchasing these products. Came in ontime and product is new and perfect. Exellent purchase! it really works Good as long as you're not around a lot of So far so good.

Great for weighing envelopes and small packages. I use it to determine the weight of items I sell here on Amazon. This is ideal for smaller packages, larger ones will cover the screen and you can't read the weight. I stick to selling smaller items anyways due to outrageous postage costs these days.It comes with a battery BUT NO ADAPTER (the scale I received didn't anyway). I tried putting in the brand new battery as well as a new Duracell battery I had laying around and neither of them worked. I don't know what is wrong with the battery port but it will only power on with an AC adapter. I happened to have a NetGear AC adapter at my house and it fit it perfect and the scale powered right up. Although I haven't tested it, the scale seems well calibrated and right on the money when I weigh a package.The cost is pretty good. I thought these scales would have gone down in price like the digital gram scales have, but they aren't too bad. For the money I am happy with my purchase.

When the battery is low on power the scale is very very off. I've used this for several months now, still works, and is still accurate, but when that battery gets low, you can't get anything right, even on the same object. Furthmore, even when there's nothing on the scale, you'll get random weights. Once I replace the battery, the scale goes back to normal. It sucks that it doesn't come with a wall plug when there's a ac/dc socket for it.

This works good for weighing packages I send usps. I sell items once in a while when my stock gets too full and this is perfect for what I need.It is not 100% accurate, if the weight is close to a whole ounce say 12.9 ounces I'm sweating at the post office hoping the scale is correct. It's been off a few times by 0.1 ounce which can sometimes be a big deal on price.If you need a scale for average use then this is perfect. If you need something for a large scale or if you sell alot of items. Invest in a higher quality scale.

Battery compartment is very tight, harder than it should be to get batteries in/out, and the first time I had reason to change them: when I turned the scale on, all display LEDs were on, and would not settle to tare the scale to zero. Taking out and putting in fresh batteries, no improvement. Taking out batteries and plugging in, normal function. A few days later, because I couldn't believe it was really dead, more battery wrestling (and verifying that batteries were OK with flashlight test before adding to scale, including the ones that hadn't worked the first attempt), got it back to function. So the battery compartment is poorly designed (too tight a fit) and something inside is prone to poor connection after less than a year of use. Not so great.

Very good and extremely accurate scale to the 10th of an ounce. Small but not too small that you can put luggage or large packages on it. I would have given 5 stars but if you are on battery power, it shuts off automatically after 90 seconds, which is good to save the batteries, but bad if you want to weigh out liquids or refrigerants and it shuts off, since when you restart it, it zeroes out.All in all excellent value for decent scale

The first scale that arrived was defective. Amazon replaced it and the new one works like clockwork. No issues, very accurate. I really appreciate the distance of the display from the actual scale. This helps with weighing bulky packages. The accuracy is spot on. I also like the flip up boards that hold floppy envelopes onto the scale for more accurate weighing. It took a while to choose a scale and we are glad to have picked this one.

After reading several reviews, it would seem that accuracy is an issue for most scales like this. I only wonder about the one we purchased because it randomly display a weight when there is nothing on the scale. I like the remote display. The only other issue I have had with this scale is when weighing shipping bags... The bags tend to hang over the side of the scale platform. Other than that, the scale seems to work well.

Works like a champ. Always accurate and really like the 'remote' display for weighing larger items.Demoted one star from a full "5" because it does NOT remain turned on even when plugged in to AC adapter, despite the listing say it did. Bit of a pain to have to turn it on and wait if you take more than a minute between weighing items.

Great value and quality, pretty accurate, but I wish their interconnecting cords were a bit better quality. They are a bit stiff and you can't keep moving the display around as you might need, because if the cord gets trained in one position, it will force the light display to go where it wants, or even flip it .Secondly, the display is pretty dim and hard to see. Dim blue on black background LCD with a narrow viewing angle.Other than that, it is practical and it's hard to beat the value.

It won't stay on. I don't like that. We use it for weighing out product, not for shipping. It would be fine for shipping.It also beeps every time the weigh changes. Irritating when you're filling a five pound bag - add a scoop, beep, add a scoop, beep, add a little more, it just sits there - you have to lift the item off the scale and put it back on to get the correct weight - then another beep. Let me know if you have one that doesn't beep all the time, will stay on for a while, and adjusts to a tenth of an ounce without having to remove the item and set it back on again. the best scales are the ones from usps.com but they're $50.

I'm replacing a scale that I've used for several years that was failing. This scale is not as accurate as my former scale. In lower weights, it is off by tenths which for my purposes, postal mailing, is good enough. I know it can be calibrated. In heavier weights it is terrible. Over 20 pounds it can off by 2 or 3 pounds and it consistently gives different weights for the same package that differ by as much as 2 or 3 pounds. I like the electronic features and the beep when it's finish but for heavier stuff it just doesn't cut it.

High capacity, inexpensive scale with a 'hold' function for larger (which would be most any) items that would obscure the display.Accurate to an ounce, not a tenth of an ounce a stated, hence the 3 star review.I use mine for individual weights of items when filling out customs forms shipping APO via USPS pre-priced priority mailing boxes.The post office scale generally comes up a pound lighter, which for me, doesn't matter since these boxes have a set mailing price.

Ok shipping scale, but keep in mind that you will need to SCALE (no pun intended, okay a little bit) your business around this model if you are going to use it; and that is all fine and dandy until you want to ship something weighing 26.? pounds. Or the box you decide to ship is bigger than say Medium Flat Rate.Then one of 2 things happens to you:1. Cannot weigh the package!2. Cannot read the display!Trust me I have been there! I have been holding the package on the bathroom scale and then subtracting my weight (187 I am not ashamed, yet...). So that was never any fun we had to upgrade our scale and found a wonderful model here on Amazon! It has a tethered cord display so the display is easy to read!

This scale is perfect for my needs for weighing packages and allowing me to purchase and print postage from home. I've had 2 issues with it though which is why I only give it 3 stars: the battery cover doesn't stay on. The clips that are supposed to hold it in place are not damaged in any way its like the cover is just a hair smaller then it should be and doesn't stay on. Not worth the hassle of returning it a piece of tape over it is working just fine at holding it in place so it loses a star for that. The other problem is that the hold feature that is supposed to allow you to hold the weight and still be able to read it after the package is removed from the scale is spotty. I can get it to work about 1/4 of the time. This is frustrating when you have a box bigger then the scale sitting on it and you can't read the display until it is weighed and removed. So it loses another star for that. If I had to order again I think I would probably go with a different one, but for not it takes care of my needs.

Rewriting this review as I had forgotten to, I messed with the scale for some time and was finally able to get it to work properly. My only issue is the fact that you need 20-25lbs to put on the scale for it to make adjustments and such before you use it. I don't normally carry a 20-25lbs weight around so this was a problem, and buying one costs almost $20. I had to make due and find random household objects that met the weight it needed.Overall: the item works perfectly fine, just takes a bit to adjust. Only purchase if you have patience, and something that weighs 20-25lbs.

Bought Feb 2016, died May 2017

Worked well for the first several months after receiving it. Then didn't use it for a couple of months in the summer, just started needing it again and it is dead, even after changing the batteries. Not worth the money.

The unfortunate thing about this scale is that because it's battery run, the scale doesn't stay on for more than a minute before it shuts off. So every time I'm weighing items, I keep having to turn the scale back on which is pretty aggravating.

Works ok, I wonder about the accuracy. It seems to fluctuate from time to time. Some mention it's due to a dying battery, but I don't use mine often- a few times a month on a fresh battery. Not the best scale on the market.

The problem with this unit is that there are no specifications for the AC adapter and the plug in hole for an AC adapter does not show what the voltage, current, or polarity is for the adapter. (Such as "Tip is +" or "nn volts [DC or AC?]" or "nnn ma"). And no AC adapter is listed or available as an option for this device. In addition, no batteries are supplied with this device contrary to the advertised listing.hollidayp1 150425-2

The item arrived on time and in good condition. This is the third scale I have ordered and this one as well as the two others does not work in conjunction with Endicia and Dazzle which are the USPS programs. This needs to be made clear on the item description.

This product is not 10" x 8" x 3", as advertised! It is actually 7 3/4" x 6 5/8" x 1 3/8". It may be a good scale, but I'm not sure if I will keep it. One of the main reasons I bought it was for the larger surface.

I don't use it that often, really. Once every couple of week and small boxes, like 300gr per package.The number keeps jumping up and down. Starting it take a minute to stable.Eventually it stops working. I tried to change battery ( silly me, yeah, just a try, no harm) then plug it in, still it doesn't get up.It's not like I'm asking for 10 years of use. But as less as I used it, too bad.

Came defective.

I purchased this scale in September 2016 and it has worked great, but the batteries are low and the standard AAA Duracell batteries will not fit. The batteries that came with it are slightly smaller in diameter. I have never seen these skinnier batteries and can't find them for sale. Using the cord is not an option for me so this was not a good value for 5 months of use. If anyone knows where to find these batteries, I would appreciate the information as the scale works well.

Needed a scale to weigh pound/ounces for shipping packages under 10 lbs. Weighing in grams,the scale is accurate. In pounds/ounces, it is inaccurate. I have verified this by using calibration weights, and by comparing it to an expensive, demonstrably accurate Ohaus scientific scale, and to the UPS scale in one of their locations. I see no way of adjusting this. I have to get my weight in grams, then convert it manually to pounds/ounces.

This item is poor quality. If a scale can weigh up to 110 lbs. it should be sturdy. But it is extremely small and wobbly and parts were broken when I received it. It is also plastic and doesn't seem strong enough. (That could be why the top section where you place the package was wobbly.) Please note: for small packages and mail, this scale would be fine. But the flat bed is only 7 x 8 inches. That's very small for packages weighing more and probably being larger because they weigh more.

I have gone thru a ton of batteries trying to get accurate readings, 90% of the time it reads nothing. Disappointed and frustrated.

Turns off automatically before you want it to. Step away for a minute or so, and you'll have to go through the process of turning it on, calibrating, etc all over again.

Did not work. Used the battery it came with and that didn't work. Used a universal AC adapter and that did not work.

Don't Bother. I just received it, popped the battery in, it powered up. After the unit automatically shut off, the power on/off button does not work. I cannot turn the unit back on. It's junk. I am returning it immediately. What a waste of time.

I bought this scale in May. It is now September. It has died on me. I replaced the battery with three separate batteries thinking that was the problem. It is not. It just died. I purchased it to weigh my food for the HCG diet. I needed to measure my protein in grams. I will stick to my non digitized scale from now on.

Labeled as a 25lb scale is not, it is a 5lb scale. I would have returned it but didn't realize until it was too late. Fix your description. It does work great up to 5lbs.

Terrible. I've only gotten to use it about 4 times and it has already stopped working correctly. As soon as its turned on it jumps around. It will not "zero" out. It jumps 40 grams up, then 60 down, then some up and down again. If you try to zero it out it immediately starts jumping again.I need PRECISE weights, and there is no way to get them with that item. Very disappointed, esp. after the many good reviews.

Plugged in everything according to the directions. All I get whn I turn the power on is it displays "Err" then turns itself off again. The directions say if it displays "Err" then the sensor is faulty and to consult the manufacturer. There is a 10 year manufacturer warrantly and I can send this brand new faulty device to the manufacturer to have it refurbished or replaced but I only paid $23 for it and it would cost me about $12 to send it to them. I don't see why I should foot the shipping bill when the manuafactured something that doesn't work right off the bat. Since I purchases this on Amazon, I'll just return it to them and they can pay the shipping costs.Also note, the item is very light weight and the base is small. The material is a very cheap plastic. I cannot imaging actually putting a 110 LB package on there and it being stable and the scale holding up under that weight.

Worked great for 10 months (less than 200 shipments). I understand the scale has a 10 year warranty but can't find any details on the company or how to get the item repaired.

After 6 months of light use, this scale does NOT read accurately. We ship packages daily through our business but only use this scale in rare occasions of a unique shipment.We discontinued our old scale in hopes that this scale read accurately. Big mistake. After confirming this from multiple other scales, also checking with other shipping companies within our warehouse section, this scale is no longer reading accurately. Over 2 pound differences. We have contacted the seller to give them an opportunity to fix this, seeing as the listing states "10 year warranty". Makes it tough when the seller won't even respond to your inquires. I also scoured the web to find a phone number for this "company" with no luck.

February 23, 2016I am not sure what is more frustrating, watching myself continue to try and use this poorly constructed, malfunctioning "scale" or struggling to come up with an accurate description of how incredibly crappy this machine is.When I purchased it in June of 2015 it was the price and good reviews that got my attention. It actually worked fine for just about a month and a half. Then the tare function started to fluctuate from zero to values below zero and above zero. The only option is to turn the machine off and then turn it back on, at which point there are times when the display will stall and you have to repeat the process.Also, if I place an item on the machine, five out of ten times, the value will climb and fall until I turn of the power button and try again.In the bigger scheme of the multiverse, $25.69 is a loss that I can manage for purchasing this pathetic device. I did my part. I warned you.

I've ordered this item twice, both times the digital display was not working properly and I was not able to read the weight. I know some people have received ones that work, I was not one of the lucky ones.
