This is a great mascara! The waterproof version is true to its claims, and doesn't smudge or smear even in humid environments. It is pigmented, and has a lot of product. It does clump a bit sometimes, which I typically try to avoid, but otherwise, it is great! I use it nearly every day to darken my lashes and hold their curl. I will most likely repurchase this item when I finish the tube I have now.

My favorite go to drugstore mascara. I have a thing for purchasing new mascaras and fall prey to their lures of greatness --- yellow tube colossal is the ONLY one that hasn't hit the trash can AND gets repurchased. I keep Waterproof and Regular on hand at all times!

I've always struggled with finding a mascara that doesn't fade, irritate, or end up underneath my eyes during my busy workdays. This mascara is the answer to that problem.It's got the "old school" style wand that I love, too. I can't say anything bad about this mascara. I feel like I should stick up on it in case it ever gets discontinued.

Bought this for a vacation to Mexico. Was perfect for being in he pool/ocean. It stayed on great! Almost too great..really had to scrub at my eyes to get it off at night, but I'm fine with that if it means I don't have runny mascara raccoon eyes all day!

I have been using the Maybelline "Volum" series mascaras for years and have always loved them. Although I have had good luck with a few other Maybelline mascaras (and much less luck with any other brands), I always keep coming back to this particular one in whatever color happens to be available or on sale.My eyelashes have decent thickness and length, but unfortunately they are light brown turning to blond at the tips. Without mascara, at best it looks as if I have a little fuzz around my eyes. The Maybelline Volum Express makes the most striking difference of just about any mascara I have ever used. I have added a photo to illustrate, though I am not sure if the difference would be as striking for someone with shorter or more sparse eyelashes.Other features I love:-The wand does an excellent job coating and separating lashes with little to no clumping. Sometimes I have to do a little more work to get the lashes separated using an eyelash comb or the tip of my fingernail or whatever, but that is usually minimal. Further, I find I only need one coat.-The product has a lifespan at least as long -- and typically longer -- compared with other mascaras I have used. Occasionally I have a tube that only makes it 4 weeks, but I sometimes get as much as 3 months of use. If the mascara becomes clumpy, I can eke out a little more life by completely cleaning off the wand with a dry tissue, squeezing out any old, dry gunk on the wand for a fresh start.-I strongly prefer the waterproof variety because I find the non-waterproof ones tend to flake on me. Under normal conditions, I do not have a problem with this product flaking.Although this review is for the Classic Black, I will also be posting the same review for the Glam Black because frankly I cannot tell the difference between the two colors. Both seem to look and work the same for me.

I found a new mascara. It's rather perfect. no spider lashes, no smearing, no fading. just simple lash paint that I don't have to fuss over. I can put it on before work, get home and play with my twins, make lunch, sweat, rub my face, cry, and change my contacts without this deciding to rebel.Also, it comes off easy with my makeup removing liquid (Garnier Micellar Cleansing water Garnier SkinActive Micellar Cleansing Water All-in-1 Cleanser & Waterproof Makeup Remover, 3.4 Fluid Ounce )

Does what it is supposed to. Don't wear mascara much so don't have as much to compare it to but it seems nice enough. Don't put to much unless you like that "spidery" look.

I am a mascara junkie always looking for the better one.I like volume and thickening but not clumps, and waterproof. Hard to find.My usual favorites are lancome Hypnose and Loreal voluminous. I like them both for volumizing but the waterproof versions are not great.Maybelline rocket really does it all. Too many mascara a that say they won't clump give little volume. Too often waterproof isn't.This one does what it says. Thickens. Lengthens. Volumizes. Does not clump and LASTS ALL DAY

I learned about the Rocket in an online blog. I was interested as I have struggled with mascara for years. Most recently, a beauty consultant sold me a fast drying one that was very expensive. I still had problems with smudging as I put it on. Then I heard about Maybelline's Rocket and decided to give it a try. WOW This is literally the first mascara I have found in years that does not smudge or splatter when putting it on. Also NO CLUMPS. I put on one coat for a more natural look and layer it for a more dramatic look. And it is one fifth the price of the other mascara I bought. I am hooked!

I absolutely love this mascara! I have never had one that I've absolutely fallen in love with before. This definitely does what it says, it adds volume to my lashes and gives me a great curl! Normally, after I curl my lashes and then apply mascara, my eyelashes don't stay as curled as I like and sometimes it takes a few strokes to get them unclumped. I have really long lashes, so of course I'd want to show them off with a nice curl, and this mascara does that for me. I've only had one other mascara brand that curled my lashes for me, but it also was really gunky and sometimes clumped my lashes together. This also does not come off easily in the shower, so it's definitely waterproof. This will now be my go-to mascara!

Current HG waterproof mascara. I've been using this for about 2-3 years now and don't plan on discontinuing use unless Maybelline decides to discontinue it like they did for my last two HG mascaras....I should say that I have naturally long and curled eyelashes, but they're on the lighter and thinner side, so this helps make them slightly thicker and slightly longer, and definitely makes them dark. I put on about 2-3 coats every day when doing my makeup and my eyelashes look very full but still natural and not flakey like a lot of other girls' mascaras I see. The waterproof formula is a bit tricky to get off however, as it should be, and has barely streaked or melted while I wear it, even while swimming in the pool or at the beach. I use Albolene to get it off with the rest of my makeup, and that seems to do the trick. Love this stuff and hope it doesn't get discontinued like Maybelline's previous mascaras that I used to use.(Included a photo of me wearing it without any other eye makeup after an 8-hour day of classes)

I have used Maybelline Great Lash Waterproof mascara for a good 2-3 years now, and was thrilled to see that Amazon sells it at a fair price that is comparable to what I pay at Target but I had the option of adding it to my Subscribe and Save cart !! Fantastic ! Now look it's nothing fancy, it's not the super "Extendo-Lash" mascara but it's a beautiful mascara that applies very well and holds up all day long without running even with tears (I'm not even joking.) This is my favorite brand, and that's that. Happy Mascara-ing. ^_^

I buy these items online because I work late everyday and don't get a chance to get to the store as much as I need to, I sit at my computer while having coffee and order what I need, its so easy, I don't like to shop in the stores, the price is good the item is perfect and as expected, no complaints

This stuff is my summer go-to for truly waterproof eyelashes. As a redhead with invisi-lashes, I rely on this stuff at the pool to avoid looking like I have no hair on my face (my eyebrows are super light too, so having eyelashes is a must). I probably replace this stuff more than more expensive brands of mascara to avoid clumping, but it's so cheap I don't mind.

I love this mascara. I have tried other, more expensive brands over the years, but I always go back to this one. It isn't clumpy when I put it on, and it always applies nicely.

A mascara classic. I've been wearing this one for decades. Seriously, it was the first piece of make-up I ever owned. Bought my first tube when I was 12 years old. I've tried other brands. Fancier ones. Newer ones. And I keep coming back to this one. The waterproofing works as well as any waterproof one I've tried. (I recommend using an eye makeup remover liquid with it. Neutrogena makeup remover cloths do a great job taking it off,too. Water alone won't do it and soap and water still is challenged by it. ) The color looks as good as any brand of the same color I've tried. The brush is your classic old school straight little brush with little bristles on it. No huge brush, no wild curved shape, etc. But it works fine. I didn't seem to get any better results from any of the other fancier brands or newer styles. None of them gave me the huge lashes and invisible lift and curl and separation or whatever they promised. None of them worked so well that I didn't also have to use an eyelash curler for optimum results. So it doesn't bother me at all to use this one and an eyelash curler like women have been since your mama started wearing makeup.

Maybelline great lash is the best----have been using it for years... It is effective and very economical! It also doesn't irritate my eyes as other mascaras have.

This Precise eyeliner is my favorite. I have used other liners in the past that will skip or bead up along the eye line I had just drawn, but this covers everything in one perfect even coat. I have been searching for a good eyeliner pencil for a long time. I have tried other gel pencils, but this one is just perfect! It goes on smoothly, does not pull, and can be smudged if you want that look. My eyelids are rather oily, even with eye primer, so I really like the fact that it stays on all day. I admire my friend’s long eyelashes, she said she uses Hairgenics Lavish Lash Eyelash Growth Enhancer and Brow Serum I have tried a number of products to grow my brows back after a few bad brow shaping incidents. I tried the Lavish Eyelash serum I cannot believe the results. The tails of my lashes have grown back and two of the sparse areas are filled in again. One spot is completely filled in again and the other is well on its way.

Finding the perfect eye liner is like a marathon, you just have to keep going until you find the right one. I tear up when laughing and since laughter is the best medicine, I am laughing all day. When looking for eyeliner I want one with a super fine tip that is easy to apply, doesn’t tug my eye lid and stays put. This has fit the bill for each need. It stays in place all day. To remove I use an oil based cleanser and it takes it right off. It doesn’t budge unless you are rubbing your eyes and tearing up at the same time for quite a while. Also it is super easy to do a fine line, cat eye and a thick line. I have bought this 3 times now and will continue to buy it over and over again.

This is my favorite. I love liquid eyeliner but it is hell applying it. This is the best of both worlds. I love how it's liquid in a pen form. It's super easy to apply and it lasts all day! I have another eyeliner pen like this one which feels heavy on my eyelid and kind of causes irritation, but this one is great, lightweight with good pigmentation. You can do a thick wing or a thin one, it's great! In my picture you can see what i'm talking about. It goes on darker with primer. I use elf's face primer.

I have had this liner for a few months now and it still does the job just as well as if I'd just got it yesterday. I'm not sure how long it will end up lasting me, but I will definitely be replacing it with the same liner after it runs out. I'm a make-up junkie. I LOVE my make-up and I generally purchase the expensive stuff. I like quality that lasts and does it's job and unfortunately, you have to spend a little more to get that. This liner was the exception to that rule. It's incredibly easy to apply and it goes on smoothly over my eyeshadow. It stays all day with no "chipping or flaking". I'm honestly glad I found this product :)

this took a while to be received cuz of third party. it was delivered from new york. i've been using this product for years and can't seem to put it down. my only complaint is this one felt lighter than most i've bought in store. when i unscrewed the wand..i felt the liquid inside was...light..i tried dipping the wand in the liquid to get it stuck on the wand, and usually a good chunk would stick on the wand but this product in particular was light and had to be dipped in a few times to get the right substance. in that case, i had to reapply the mascara on my lids more than i would normally. i probably got the bad one out of the batch, but it still does the job. made my natural long lashes stick out.. did not clump at all but some people like the chunks. nevertheless, i'd recommend this to those looking for nice wand that gives volume to your lashes without the clump (just apply more if you want that clump!). would recommend.

I use this with an eyelash curler and another Maybelline mascara "ultimate length". I like this product, but I feel that it is lacking in making my eyelashes look longer. I feel that when I use just this mascara my lashes look shorter then I would like.

I like this mascara. It's very waterproof. Clumps a little if you're not careful applying. All in all, a good cosmetic for the price.

Works well. Still haven't bought a mascara that doesn't clump though. I attribute the clumpiness to the brush. Works well, long lasting, water proof.

I've used different mascaras from Maybelline and they were more expensive. But surprisingly I liked this one the most. I wear it everyday all the day long and I don't even feel it. Plus it gives some volume to my eyelashes which I like! With other mascaras I was getting headache for some reason, probably I am allergic to some ingredients they put in them, but this particular mascara doesn't do anything bad for me.

I like my expensive make up. I'm picky about mascara. I have to say, I really enjoy this one! The brush helps me get to all the lashes, even the little ones and is very buildable to help me creat thick lashes without being clumpy. Waterproof too. Will definitely get this one again!

About me: I like mascaras that dont flake, that provide a lot of volume, separates and defines my lashes, holds a curl all day, and very very black. My lashes are about average in fullness and very straight, borderline curl-resistant. I usually prefer a dry mascara formulation to keep my lashes from being weighed down.About this mascara: It doesn't flake off, it provides moderate volume, separates and defines lashes well, holds a curl moderately well, and is quite black (but not the blackest). I don't feel this adds a ton of length to my lashes, but that isn't a value to me. I re-apply this mascara halfway into my day to maintain the volume and color of my intial application. I find recurling my lashes after I apply my first coat ensures my curl is held all day. I find this product removes well with coconut oil or any oil based makeup remover.This is perfect for an everyday casual makeup look, but perhaps not best suited for an evening/glam look. For additional drama, I recommend adding a coat of Maybelline's The Falsies (waterproof formula).TL; DRPros: doesn't flake, itsn't clumpy, seperates and defines lashes, holds curl fairly well, pretty black.Cons: not incredibly black and isn't buildable enough to take your look full glam.

This is the first mascara that I've used that claimed to be waterproof and actually was. I was starting to wonder if one could be found at around this price point, and it could. I cried, wiped my eyes, even took a shower, and it still stuck until I removed it with a towelette. It does not make my lashes as long or as thick as other mascaras, but rather it gives them a very natural and understated feminine look that I prefer. If you are looking for night club eyes look elsewhere.

It was better then I expected, not as bold as most but it is very light and makes your eye lashes look long and natural in stead of having all those nasty clumps in the eye lashes. Very nice I think I will start buying this more often. Thank u so much.

Waterproof mascaras are best if eyes are sensitive. This comes off with make-up remover. It does not smudge and therefor does not irritate.

Maybeline does a nice job with mascara. The wand is good and helps extend lashes.

This is an old school mascara. Last time I tried it was approximately 20 years ago. Unfortunately, even though it claims to be waterproof it is not and smudges quite a bit. Won't purchase again. I gave it four stars because it doesn't clump, etc. I don't care for the chemical smell either.

This is one of the best water proof mascaras I have ever used. It stays on all day, and requires a make-up remover to get it off at night. I need a water proof mascara for daily wear as I am one of those people that cries whenever I laugh, so I have tried many. This one holds up better than the higher priced brands I have tried. The only dislike I have for this product is the old style brush they are still using on the wand. I have a harder time getting an even coating and get more clumps with this style brush.

Great, a bit chunky so I gave it four stars. Arrived in a timely manner and I would definitely Recommend this product for anyone wanting big beautiful lashes! Pictures were taken after being worn throughout a busy day with only one coating/application!

It's the best mascara I've found for not smudging under my eyes, but it still does smudge under my eyes. Also, like most mascaras, it's not easy to completely remove. Any residue will continue to smudge while you're sleeping at night, especially if you've used an oily remover to try to clean the mascara off your lashes. I use eye drops for high ocular pressure. The drops stain my skin under my eyes and the mascara, I think, worsens the stains, making them darker and more indelible; I'd rather it didn't.

I generally have low expectations and forgiving standards for make-up. This eyeliner is pretty nice though, especially for the price. The flexible marker-like tip makes application easy. I have noticed though that initially it comes out a little light but then will getter darker after the first few strokes. (That could be because I store it upright and the ink might be running away from the tip.) So I just have to retrace my lines and then they're nice and dark. On hot humid days it sometimes rubs off on my upper eyelid (above the crease), but it's not too bad and wipes away easily.

I honestly like this eyeliner! I've only ever had to touch up the part next to the corner of my eye and that's mainly because I'm an eye wiper. I have noticed though that the product inside the pen doesn't last very long. I would only have for maybe a month, maybe a little longer, and I could tell that liner would get a lot lighter, it wasn't as bold, per say. Maybe a month is as long as eyeliner usually lasts? I don't know... I just expect it to last a little longer. Still a good product though, it's my fall back!

I'm used to applying liquid eye liner (the kind that you dip into) and this is more of a marker than liquid. It still is nice and I use it occasionally but it doesn't apply as boldly as liquid or gel eyeliners apply. The product itself works fine as advertised I guess, I just was trying something different and felt it doesn't give you as much of a bold or straight-edge look like the other types of eye liner does.

Nice color, and good quality for the price. I'm not sure if it was a mistake but I received two eyeliners in the mail when I only paid for one (?) I am definitely not complaining, though.This eyeliner is great if you are looking to wear it for a short amount of time or if you are willing to carry it around with you. The reason for that is because they seem to come off rather easily (easily as in blinking too hard or lightly touching your eye). It is a little bit of a hassle having to reapply my eyeliner for a longer day, but the good thing is that it doesn't smudge all over your eyes if you accidentally end up brushing against it with your hand.Overall, I'm not angry at the eyeliner since it was so cheap and the color was nice and vibrant, but I would stick to a different brand if I were to need eyeliner for a long night out.

I like this eye liner, it applies smoothly and stays on. I have hooded eyes and for me some eyeliners don't dry fast enough and I have it all over the top of my eyelid, but this dries quickly and isn't messy. I also love that it's a matte liner, because I don't like shinny liners. Prefect for whatever look you are going for! I would recommend this to anyone, and have to my friends!

I have used this liner for over a year now. I absolutely love the applicator and the formula goes on so easily. It took me a few tries to understand how to use it but now I can put it on within seconds. I love how the matte formula looks and how it feels.My biggest complaint is it's staying power. When I wear this eyeliner I always find some smudged under my eye, making me have raccoon eyes. While making a perfect winged eyeliner is extremely easy with this applicator, the wing will not stay for more than 3 hours before moving under your eye. I attached a (highly edited) photo of a night out after dancing. I started with winged eyes and a medium line. By the end of 3 hours I have no wings left, the line has increased in size, and there is eyeliner under my eyes. This photo was also taken after I rubbed a bunch off from under my eyes.I will admit to having oily eyelids but when normal blinking moves the eyeliner it's too much. Basically, if I do nothing but blink all day it will be half gone by 8 hours, which is saddening since it looks so amazing in the morning.This product has lasted me forever though. I'm not sure when it will run out.

I was really hoping to like this. I need a quality waterproof mascara and I was hoping this would do the trick. It is affordable but I will likely buy something better quality in the near future.

So I've been using this for about two weeks now, and I'm a little disappointed. It stays on pretty well, but I always get the WORST fallout under my eyes when I'm wearing this. I end up looking like a raccoon after two hours. I've never had this problem with other mascaras before so I was pretty upset when I experienced that with this one.

Very wet formula. If i put several coats on to build up volume then it irritates my eyes later in the day.I like the rocket better

Maybe my tube was older, but for me, this flaked a lot through the day. It caused my eyes irritation and itching and by the end of the day I was ready to take this off. Pretty decent volume, but for me, I will find other mascaras.

I'm guessing it's like every other mascara, nothing real special about it. Don't know what the big deal is....

There are a lot of things I like about this mascara, but volume isn't one of them. I like the big fat brush that helps separate and build my lashes. I like that it doesn't flake or clump at all. I like that it truly is waterproof. I like that it makes my lashes long. But it doesn't do what it claims it will do, which is give you colossal volume. I would call this more of a lengthening mascara than a volume mascara.

Amazingly waterproof - TOO waterproof in fact. My makeup remover for waterproof mascara didn't work! So my eyelashes wound up getting heavy and sticking together for 2 full days - leading to losing a few eye lashes. Everything else about it is awesome. Just would like to be able to get it off!

I didn't experience any added volume from this product. The brush is nice an stiff and well-shaped, but it didn't provide any volume whatsoever. Instead, it was more like a casual, barely-there mascara I'd wear for work or weekend running around. Even after 3 coats, I didn't notice volume or length enhancement. It applies smoothly with no clumps and I like the wand, but won't purchase again for volume enhancement.

I don't care for this mascara. The brush doesn't do a very effective job of defining the lashes. Certainly doesn't add length, just fullness. It's so waterproof that I struggle to remove it even with an eye makeup remover.

love the dark color but gosh this is like putting glue on my eyelashes. In the first try it took over 7 minutes trying to wash it all away before I went to sleep. The second night I found out I had extra mascara and the same happen on the third day but I figure it was because this mascara is too sticky and it is all crumbled in between my lashes. I will just get back to my old Maybelline mascara because over all, they have great products just didn't workout with this one.

It wasn't all that for my Asian lashes...I find that the formula is quite heavy and kind of weighs my lashes down. It also doesn't build very well - gets clumpy pretty fast.I still like the L'Oréal Voluminous Million Lashes (waterproof) more.

This mascara is hard core, it is so difficult to take off at the end of the day. So if you are looking for durability of mascara, this is almost bullet proof, at least make up cloth removing proof.It goes on easily and smoothly. However, I find that it causes my lashes to be rather clumpy after a few swipes (not allowing it to dry in between). I almost wish I had a comb for my lashes before it dries.It is an ok mascara, great color and staying power, but I don't want my lashes sticking together as easily, where I can easily get 'spider' legs as lashes.

Not thrilled with this product, because it's not the same formula as the Great Lash in used to. Maybe it's fake, who knows. It didn't seem to have a lot of mascara in it. Maybe it's an older product, not sure... It may work for you though...

The package seemed to be opened from one side and the cap didn't look tightly fixed so I was reluctant to keep it, but when I completely opened it, judging from how there were no marks from the black liquid in the opening, it may have not been actually opened or used. I just expected it to have been packaged more carefully despite it being an add-on; afterall, it is a makeup applied on the eyelashes.

This is a classic. It's BLACK and I love that but it's messy to apply and the only good thing anymore is that it's truly waterproof.

Brush is thinner than the old one that used to come with it (must have changed it in the last 2 years since I last bought this brand), and makes it hard to apply. I have to put on a coat, wait til it dries, repeat, and do this at least 3 or 4 times before my lashes look full. I find that while it's drying it likes to come off onto my skin and stain around my eyes. I always put it on BEFORE my foundation and eye makeup due to this problem.

not too waterproof

I have a problem with eye products: they like to fall off. When I apply mascara, a couple of hours later it's collected under my lower lashes (yes, even when I only apply it to my upper lashes). So I decided to try a waterproof mascara on the theory that it would stay better.Pros:- The mascara goes on well. It has a nice basic brush and the product doesn't clump.- It looks nice.Cons:- It's not all that waterproof. Although removing all of it takes make-up remover, I can get a lot of it off with plain water. It will also run down your face if you're in the rain/cry, although not as badly as non-waterproof . . . plus, of course, then it's harder to get off your face.- There was a lot of flaking and fallout. At least for me . . . it fell off and collected under my lower lashes so that, within a couple of hours of application, it looked like I was wearing thick black eyeliner under my eyes. Charming.I gave this product three stars instead of two because I'll still sometimes use it. (2.5 stars might be a better bet.) As long as I'm not planning on bursting into tears, all I have to do is visit the bathroom every couple of hours and scrub a wet finger under my eye.

I can see why some people may like this eye liner--to me it is for the eye liner drawing newbies. It applies the liner as is, as if it were a pencil/marker. The reason I do not like these type of liners is because it does not allow for the natural wisps that can be drawn using classic liquid eye liner brushes. I'm going to be back to my NYC liquid eye liner brush. The reason I purchased this eye liner was because it had so many good reviews, and so I can try something new. I would not buy this product again.

This is my go to eyeliner, but I think I might switch soon. I'm not sure if the eyeliner runs out super quick or if the tip just dries out super fast. It's not like I'm putting a lot on or often, but I use it a couple times and in maybe a week its dried out... I might go back to getting it at a drugstore, because it could just be the ones I'm buying have been sitting around for a while. Not worth only having great eyeliner for only a week.. if that. Great deal, looks good when new and putting it on, but a waste with having to go through so many pens.

I tested this out on my hand and it was pretty black. But when I put it over my eyeshadow it went full gray, I even shook the pen but it still came out gray. I would recommend putting this on before you put your eyeshadow on. Also The tip seems to not hold as much product as the rest of the applicator.

I really should have paid attention to the online reviews for this product. It seems great in theory. The tip is nice and sharp and the barrel is slim and easy to hold, but like so many people noted in the reviews, the liner itself seems very dry. I have to go over 3-4 times to get a solid line, and that pretty much eliminates my ability to get that super-smooth winged look. I have never used this product before, so I do not know if the product itself is faulty or if I just got a bad one, but the package looked new and fresh, so I have no reason to believe that it is anything other than a subpar product from Maybelline. I recommend the Stiletto instead. The tip is not as easy, but the product is much "wetter" making for an easier, smoother application.

UPDATE a year later:I don't often wear eyeliner but when I do wear this one, it has ALWAYS smudged on me. I considered this an HG before because of the low price, the pigmentation, and the ease of use. But now I've found a CHEAPER eyeliner that offers all of that AND has great staying power. The Essence waterproof liner is my HG now and doesn't smudge even if I don't wear a primer. Compared to that eyeliner, the maybelline master precise is just not up to par.ORIGINAL REVIEW:HG Eyeliner. Easy to use and dark as hell. You probably need a primer underneath if you have oily eyelids because it will probably smudge throughout the day (I know it does for me). But for the price, this eyeliner does everything I want well.

Info About Me: 23 yrs old, I have oily skin, including oily lids and naturally tan skin.This eye liner is okay. I'd been religiously using the Stila Stay All Day Liquid Liner in Black religiously for several years and wanted to find a cheaper alternative since those are about $21.00-$22.00 each and the expense was racking up. I tried this as an add-on. I also tried the Kat von D Tattoo Liner, which I like and it's a few dollars cheaper than the Stila one. I would give this 4 stars instead of 3 because of the price, but people be warned: this eyeliner migrates, even with a primer like the UD Primer Potion. I wear eyeliner every day and NEVER did the Stila/Kat Von D end up under my eyes by the end of the day. One day of mildly laborous work (a lot of work) and this stuff was embarrassingly smudged under my eyes. Color pay off also isn't as pigmented but it's certainly not bad. I think I'm going to stick with the Kat Von D Tattoo Liner--this one isn't for me but if makeup doesn't smudge on you, definitely give this a shot. I'm not going to anymore.

I ordered 3 to 4 mascara s on Amazon. They had to be waterproof. I found so many more on amazon than in stores. I have the problem of flaking n stinging. This one did not perform as well as others. There was some stinging, less than Covergirl waterproof, plus a small amount of flaking. It also goes on a lot thinner than others.

Honestly, the only Colossal thing about this mascara is the disappointment. I normally use covergirl lashblast volume, the orange one, and have been for a long time. Two main differences are the brush type and the clumping. I generally never have issues with application with the lashblast and it pretty much never clumps unless it's old. This one is way different and the brush is like that crappy pipecleaner style and I immediately had issues with application because it just wasn't building up much and it was clumping in small clusters right off the bat. I dunno, I don't think I wanna use this one anymore unless I try to switch the brushes around but then there's still a clumping issue.

Dislike! I have thin, fine eyelashes and really need a quality mascara that a) doesn't feel sticky; b) won't clump or flake; c) won't smudge. Sorry to say, this mascara broke two out of these three cardinal rules for me. It felt sticky and heavy on my eyes (even with just one coat) and clumped and flaked all day. True, it didn't smudge, but for me, the bad outweighed the good.

It flakes as you are putting it on. It does a good job staying on without smudging from sweat, but it is not dark and bold like I wanted. It is sticky and adding too many layers leaves clumps, while still not darkening the color.

You end up with black under eye circles for days to come because it wont wash off or come off with eye makeup remover. I've tried 3 different types of eye makeup remover as well.I tried using my mac eye makeup remover (as well as 2 other kinds I have), then washing my face, then following with a say yes to cucumber wipes to try to get it all off and still I get black eyes the next morning for days and i cant really get it off. I put concealer and half way through the day, there is it, under my eyes. Hate it.

This used to be my 'go-to' mascara for all the reasons I went back to it recently for an upcoming trip.... I needed something waterproof and something that plumped up the lashes and gave me volume. This time around, the results fell short of my expectations from past experiences. This time around, it seemed like I had to apply, and reapply, multiple times to get definition to my lash and even then, there wasn't noticeable volume or boldness to the color. It seemed rather flat and basic. The waterproof benefits were then a bit too good. I had a very hard time washing the product out of my lashes, even with makeup removing oils and wipes... and with face wash and water. If all of the product did not get out of my lashes, I noticed they would clump together and make it difficult to apply the next time. I'm a bit disappointed in the product and will be looking for another mascara option soon. It seems the quality of this product has gone out the window over the years. I'll certainly pay a premium now for mascara known to do the trick.

The product definitely gives out long lashes. My lashes tend to clump easily and my eye shape help emphasise the smudges of the mascara. It's also drying and my lashes were begging for water.

Flakes terribly and has one of those awful silicon brushes that hardly distributes any product. I regret this purchase and will not purchase again.

I was hoping that this will be it for me but apparently I have sensitive eyes and they still caused irritation in them. It was a waste of money since I stopped using it after the first use. I only gave it 2 stars because I have sensitive eyes and it didn't work for me.

The brush itself is too big once it gets dunked into the tube. It does not cover (paint) your lashes easily either. You have to apply over and over again trying to get the mascara on your lashes with little results. Clings to the brush but won't leave the brush either! I won't be buying this again that's for sure!

I like this product more than the previous versions of Maybelline I've used for 40 years. The plastic bristles are MUCH better and the end is not sharp metal which, now that I'm older, helps me to avoid poking my eye out. Much less risky for all ages, in fact, especially if applying when you're in a hurry. The mascara itself does not clump on the eyelashes and does not flake. It almost has a moisturizing feel, which I like. However, for some reason, you must put the wand in the hole more frequently, presumably because it squeegees it better than other products so there's not alot of mascara on the wand at any given time. This has taken some getting used to, but makes sense, I guess, as a way to avoid clumping. My two complaints about the product are: as you insert the wand, whatever mascara is on the wand gets left on the outside and the next time you use it (after its had time to dry), the dried mascara clumps on the wand bristles. You still have to remove it before you start each time, but if you do that, you wont have clumping on the lashes. The other big issue is that the packaging is too "fat". It doesn't fit most standard makeup holders and I don't like that. The company really missed the mark on this. Still, I like the product enough to reorder.UPDATE 9/6/2015: Yikes! This mascara causes itching and irritation! I realized that something in it I'm allergic to. I also realized the plastic/silicone wand isn't that great. Had to throw it out. Going back to a basic type mascara without the "thickening" ingredients. Changed to 2 stars.

Maybelline has been my go-to mascara for decades. However, the Express Rocket is my least favorite Maybelline product that I have ever used. If you are looking for a mascara that does not clump, you will be disappointed.Things I liked:1) putting my eye make-up on Amazon Subscription for delivery every 4-6 months - allowing me to change my eye make-up and avoid eye infections.Things I didn't like:1) The clumps...Big awkward clumps of mascara sitting on the eye lashes...2) Since I have fine eyelashes, it takes 3+ coats to apply it so it looks right, which results in -3) 3+ layers of clumps...3) Although the brush is the same size as other Maybelline mascaras, when you go to apply it, the mascara brush is covered with a thick heavy layer of mascara. To deal with this I push the brush against the neck of the tube as I withdraw it from the tube which has helped with the clumping.I have used other Maybelline mascaras that I love - but they weren't available via Amazon subscription. With all the other types of mascara, I am not sure why Maybelline thought they needed another Volume' Express mascara. One would think after making mascara for decades that Maybelline would know what they are doing. It surprises me that they released this to market with a product and a delivery system that fails to deliver.

It still smeared during the day. I thought it was waterproof. All other mascaras I have tried that are waterproof don't smear, stay put until I take it off. I see why it is so cheap, I rather stick with other products.

Maybe the product is fine...but the one I received was not creamy and hardly even visible on the wand...pretty dried out I would say...probably should have complained that it was old.

I had read an article that had given this waterproof mascara a high rating but I was very disappointed. It seemed to be even less waterproof than any non-waterproof brands I had tried in the past. I was disappointed to see I ended up with raccoon eyes when I wore this mascara to the office. As a mascara it's not bad, but in my opinion, it fails as a waterproof one.

This eye liner is horrible! After you apply it to one eye it's all dried up and you can't apply to the other eye until you let it sit a few minutes, Why is it like that? I was hesitant buying it because it seamed to good to be true but it had good reviews so I bought it, now I wished I hadn't. There's no way of telling how full it is either so you never know when it's going to run out, not a good thing. It works great on the first eye but then when it's time to put it on the second eye it stops working! It also irritates my eyes for some reason. I won't buy it again!

The first application of this is perfect after that it starts to become a struggle to do the whole line in one motion. The tip works awesome on cat eyes in the beginning. Really quickly it kind of turns into something like a dried up marker. Even if you leave the lid on and shake it before use. I can't justify buying something that I can only get a few good uses out of even if it is pretty cheap.

Of the two shipments I've received, the first arrived extremely dry out of the packaging. After vigorous shaking, it still didn't produce anything. It was defective. Amazon easily sent me a replacement.The second package that I've received was better. It didn't seem as dry, but when applied it looked flat. This resulted in liner that looks dated, like a black turtleneck that's been through 20 years in the wash cycle.Flat coloring aside, it skipped quite a bit. But all this can be contributed to possibly poor storage. I mean what else could it be? Bad shipping? User error? It's essentially a pen!Anyways, unless you want to look like you've borrowed grandma's makeup bag, I recommend skipping this product.

The liner pencil does not work as well as liquid liner. The liner is dry and hard to get flowing to make a consistent line on the eye lid.

The first day I wore it, it was perfect. I really like the tip and it's very precise. But for some reason the second day I wore it, just a standard day at work at a computer, nothing strenuous or involving sweat, it was all over my upper eyelid. I hadn't bothered checking it in a mirror throughout the day, because it was great the day before, so I really have no way to know how long I was walking around with a black, smudged line on my lid.I might still use it for the wings of my eyeliner, since it really is far more precise than the brush I currently use, but I definitely won't be putting it on my lids.

This eyeliner was difficult to love. The pen-style applicator really never had a good amount of eyeliner ink to make a good mark. I found myself trying to apply and apply and apply layers to get the look I wanted. The tip was inflexible and did not help to make a good cat-eye. I frequently found myself creating such opposite looks on either side that I'd wipe away one side to favor the other side's look or just get so frustrated I would wipe away all progress. I'm very experienced with many eyeliners and found this one's main flaw to be the frustration it caused. After about a week, I stopped using this product altogether. It sits unused and lonely in my drawer. I would throw it away, but makeup is expensive and I fear I'll second guess my abilities and attempt the challenge again in the future.

This mascara does not curl or lengthen. All it does is thicken lashes and it clumps easily when applying. Ends up giving me dark circles under my eyes within a couple of hours after application. Isn't it supposed to be waterproof?! This of the worst mascaras I have ever used.

I love the volum express mascara but not this color. It's too light. It almost looks like I didn't put ANY mascara on. I love the glam black though

I expected better from such a big name but I hated this mascara. Just clumps up all the time. I don't know if it was kept in a hot warehouse or what but it was worse than the cheapest mascara I have ever bought. Don't buy it.

Despite the other glowing reviews, I found this mascara to be awful. Took forever to dry and smudged all over. Gave me racoon eyes and not in a good way. And yet when I washed it off it never came of completely even with eye makeup remover so my pillow case had mascara smears every morning. Although I hate to waste products I ended up throwing it out and getting a normal mascara.

Ew. That's what I truly have to say about this product. It looked and felt good after applying a few coats but it caused itchiness not even an hour later that I had to wash it off, and it wasn't easy. The brush looked great but this product I would give zero stars if I could. Last time I'm using maybelline. I'm very disappointed but more sad by this purchase because I don't like to waste money.

I've used Volume Express mascaras in the past and really liked them. Unfortunately, not so with the Rocket Volume Express. It is RIDICULOUSLY clumpy and messy. Wiping of the excess product from the brush makes it even worse. Pretty disappointed!

horribly disappointed with this mascara. maybelline's Colossal Volume Express is far superior.. and if you are willing to spend a little more on a fantastic mascar that is waterproof & wil increase volume and length by leaps and bounds then go for Benefit's they're real mascara (have cried with it on and swam with it without leaks or streaks or clumping or any mess!). That is a wayyyyyyyy superior product!

I put this mascara on at 9 a.m. and by 11 a.m. I looked like a raccoon. I wasn't wearing any other makeup and hadn't done anything except read. This is probably the worst mascara I've ever purchased.

I bought this per a great review. I used it twice then tossed it into the trash. The mascara flaked and left me looking like a racoon at the end of the day. I was trying to move away from Cover girl with this purchase but I can't. To this mascaras defense, it's not in the trash alone. It's in there with some much more pricey mascaras too.

Buy their Maybelline's washable one instead. It is easier to build longer lashes with it. Also, the waterproof one is impossible to remove. I bought it by mistake.

I used to use this mascara all the time about 5-10 years ago and I loved it. I decided to try it again recently and was very disappointed. It smudges and l leaves marks on upper eye lids within hours of application. I also don't think it's waterproof, despite what the label says. Don't get caught in the rain, exercise or cry, if you decide to wear it...

This was the worst mascara I have ever seen. Not only was the tip just terrible, thin, and difficult to use. You had to keep reapplying and kept seeing no difference. Then when it was time to remove this mascara was just impossible to remove. Even using waterproof eye makeup remover was no help. I then had to wash my eyes with soap several times to get this off my eyes. Both my daughters hated it as well. It was a waste of money.

I will never buy this brand of mascara again. Within an hour after applying it I have smudges all under my eyes. I find myself having to clean away mascara smudges all during the day. Very disappointing...

Horrible. Might be water proof, but it not smudge proof. Touch it and it smears all over. Must be oil based. Was very hard to wash off. Returned for refund.

I really wanted to like it. I like the precision line you can make with it. However if you tend to have watery eyes or allergies this might not be for you! I was at work and during recess I wiped the side of my eye (it was a windy day) and the line smeared all to the side. This is not waterproof. It won't stay like other products I have that I actually needed to use make up remover. I would not buy it again.

I bought this for my daughter. She went to school with it and came home looking like a panda. By the second use it was completely dried out. you have to push the tip down to get any colour at all and after all the effort its still a mild grey. As well as the tip is way to flexible and even she, an art wiz can not get it to look good without it looking like a crayola.

Absolutely awful product! The tip of the eyeliner was drying off straight out of the package .I thought the tip would be like a brush, well it wasn't, it was stiff and it felt like I was using a sharpie marker on my eyes...Had to press hard against my eyes to have it leave any product behind at all, which lead to thick lines and pretty much impossible to do things lines with!

The tip is dry and I have to constantly wet it just to get the black liner to apply. Also the tip is quite long and it makes it a bit harder to make a line and fill it in. Wouldn't recommend this product nor purchase it again.

very disappointed in this product! For one week it worked great - very fine lines and then the next week it dried up! It must be old product, would like to return but the return product section wont let me.
